Great hotel in an excellent location (Kapolei), about 20-25 min west of Honolulu Lots and lots of places to eat and shop within a few a minutes of the hotel and easy access to the H-1 highwayThe staff was extremely friendly and the hotel was clean and well-maintained

The breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of items including fresh omelettes The fitness center is quite nice as well The beds were comfortable and housekeeping services were well-organized (need to request housekeeping the day before) Would definitely recommend staying here and would come back for sure in the future!

Hilton Honors member here Stayed here for 9 days and had a great experience The management and staff worked hard to make things right while we stayed there

The AC in our room broke down; we were moved to another room The staff was very friendly! The free breakfast was our favorite The suites are perfect for families! Will def stay again here

Wynona Adams

All the staff are great but watch out for the hostesses for breakfast! If you and your family are local, they will stare at you like you don’t belong there! Even if you check in with one of them and go back to get ANYTHING after you went up once they will stare at you harder!!! The other one will literally run after you like you personally stole something from her even if you already told them how many was in your party Front desk was amazing But bad experience with the breakfast hostesses

Wish I could give a higher rating for the service we got from the other people that work there

Terrible experience The hotel is very old and needs a renovation We couldn’t use the AC because it stinks

We took the filters out and they wasn’t cleaned for at least a few years, and it helped a little bit No windows so we basically had no air The last night at 4am our room filled with smoke and strong smell of something being burned, we were it’s fire but no fire alarm was on The smell and smoke was strong so we couldn’t be in the room since 4am We had to check out and move outThe room was also very dirty and full of previous guests hairThe area around is full of homeless people but it’s a downtown so it’s kinda as it should be in AmericaVery bad experience with this placeThe stuff was very helpful and nice tho That’s the only good thing about this hotel – the stuff

pafadul

Stayed here last week with my wife and chose this hotel because it was closer to the capitol and the palace In theory it sounded good but was a big mistake The area around the hotel (and I understand that this is out of their control) was not tourist friendly

Lots of homeless wandering around, people sleeping on sidewalks, abandoned looking buildings (the longs drugs at the bottom of the hotel was shuttered), and generally did not look safe The hotel itself does not have a restaurant or room service, so you will be forced to look around the hotel, which is fine unless you want to eat after 3pm (most of the restaurants close after this time) Now for the hotel itself The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, but they could only do so much There is no fitness center at this hotel (a first for us since even the holiday inn has a basic setup) but they can sell you a one use pass for the 24 hour fitness nearby for $12 The view in the room was great, but the room itself was dated No comforter on the bed, and room service only comes by after 4 days of your stay You can request housekeeping or more towels, but we never actually tried this The tub had jets but as others had mentioned, the nozzles were black and quite dirty In our room the caulking at the base of the tub was not present, leaving a nice gap between the tile and the tub that looked unsettling when walking around with bare feet The carpet was well worn and the wallpaper was peeling in several places The a/c diffuser was placed on top of the door to the bedroom and ended up blowing directly on us as we tried to sleep, which was annoying It was nice that the rooms have a kitchenette with utensils, mugs, etc That actually came in handy a couple of times We did like the fact that there was a small table in the bedroom as well as the kitchen area and a loveseat as well Lots of room, but everything was just so old and worn down Overall, i think the hotel could be great if they just renovated the rooms I feel like this would have been an awesome hotel like 30 years ago

Stephanie Chase

Spacious room with a full small kitchen, a bathroom with a large tub and a washer/dryer, and a large bedroom with a view The neighborhood around the hotel has many AMAZING restaurants, and it is very easy to access Ala Moana and Waikiki beaches (in fact, much of Honolulu) via the multiple bus lines that come right by the hotel Keep in mind you are in downtown Honolulu, and not the tourist-filled streets of Waikiki

What a great vacation spot!!!! this place really gave a feeling of the North Shore Island vibe with the amenities of home So clean So authentic

So friendly both the staff and the other guests staying there The location is amazing! steps to the beach short walk to shops and food locations Woke up in the morning with a walk on the beach, then sipping coffee on the terrace viewing the people and ocean Sunsets are gorgeous at this spot! I love that we had a choice of cooking / bbq / or going out to eat, all within steps of the bungalows Can’t wait to book my next trip and stay at this place again!

Paul Levesquepaul.levesque

This place was amazing! Booked this for a few nights for our honeymoon and did not regret it The location is amazing steps away from the beach Falling asleep to the sound of waves ever night was so relaxing

Close to all the famous north shore food trucks Unit was recently updated and had everything you need Sunsets were amazing and saw whales every morning on our deck while having our coffee If you stay here you will not be disappointed!

Pros: lovely location right on the beach (although winter waves means only the brave and experienced should go in the water) and the Hibiscus bungalow is quite nice and updated with two bedrooms (beds are comfortable), a modern kitchen/bathroom and a comfy living room There is a large patio It’s a corner unit so pretty large

Cons: No amenities provided and the place was cleaned in a very basic way between use Place was not ready when we arrived and I could see it was the same bath mat as before it was cleaned There was grime on the Britta filter and coffee maker From the booking to throughout the stay, the manager Greg was incredibly curt (not friendly in the least), non responsive and made no effort to greet us We had to find our parking spot and bungalow on our own He booked a large family gathering in the connecting bungalow and so we had to contend with a noisy group playing music all day and lots of kids running around the entire weekend There is no real divider between patios Zero privacy The bungalows are not meant for that kind of occupancy and even his Airbnb profile specifies no parties When I texted him about this and said that if we knew, we wouldn’t have booked it, he only responded by saying he booked them that morning No apology or offer of compensation He took down the wrong card number and I had to bring my card to him to charge the stay at the end At that point, he tried to act all friendly I didn’t even bother to get into it with him As other reviews have stated this as an issue to, he clearly doesn’t care We met the owners and I suppose they don’t either We paid close to $1800 for two nights for this type of service Terrible

I was worried that a dry town would be no fun but I was so wrong You can have drinks in your room, just not out in public places Obviously if you’re wanting a swim up bar, this isn’t the way to go

We brought our 2 kids (12 & 9) and had an absolutely fabulous time for 12 days We were super close to the pool, had a pretty quiet room for being on the first floor, quick service whenever we needed anything (we got our room cleaned twice while we were there & asked for extra pillows/ spa face masks), and could walk to food at the Hukilau Marketplace in the Polynesian Cultural Center next door The Bistro is not really a restaurant, they have a few items for breakfast and a few for dinner and that’s it There are so many food truck options nearby or to the north or elsewhere on Oahu, it totally worked out BTW the cabanas are only $20 for two hours, totally worth it Also, the on-site laundry is coin operated but the front desk gives quarters- if you have sensitive skin you’ll need to buy detergent, they only have regular detergent, not free and clear, in their vending machine I would absolutely stay again Lastly, go to Bathtub Beach, it’s a short walk south and amazing for kids

Iva Reis

The best hotel we stayed in Hawaii The staff was very friendly, with exception of one person we spoke on the phone But overall they were very helpful and friendly

The hotel is near the Polynesian Center, so is a different type of stay If you drive there are also gorgeous beaches nearby It is a petty we couldn’t enjoy the beach while staying thereThe Bistro closed early, and most places to eat close early as wellThey do have a microwave in the lobby with some snacks to buy I thinkThey offer Hula, Ukelele, and Lei crafting classes Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to try anyThe bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was quietI def recommend

A M

The staff were all super friendly and the hotel rooms were fineIt had a bit of a conference feelThe pool area was good

It’s a shame there’s not a pathway along the main road to the shopping centre as that would be a nice walk, it makes the hotel in a lot less walkable location (not their fault)I knew prior to going to this hotel that it was in a “religious” dry town but I probably wasn’t prepared for how many judgmental “religious” guests would be in said pool area having a lot to say Each to their own but it was pretty full on – I recognise this is one of two hotels on the north shore so those wanting to explore more of the area are limited

This review is for Katey I feel very fortunate that she picked up the phone when I called them, since they are technically closed and only sell in the farmer’s market on Saturdays She invited me over to the farm and helped me pick out so much amazing produce

She was kind and patient and walked me through all of their stock in all their fridges and offered useful tips and suggestions about fruits/veges I was unfamiliar with I can’t thank her enough cuz everything she suggested tastes amazing and fresh The farm itself is beautiful and everyone I met there were wonderful!

Jo A

Very friendly staff I really enjoyed the variety of creative dishes The veteran options were great

I loved that we could bring our dog while we are in the outdoors We went at night so we got to appreciate the beautiful outdoor seating Surprisingly, there were no bugs bothering us and the string lights were perfect: strong enough so you can see clearly, but soft enough for enjoyable mood lighting They play music inside pretty loud so that it can be heard from outside I look forward to going back! It’s a bit away from the main road and if you drive out at night, the drive may feel a little sketchy Once you get there, it’s definitely worth it

nikkimnm d

An absolutely wonderful experience all the way around Staying in this incredibly peaceful place was ideal for us It’s a very simple, humble, no frills as far as the nightly stay but they offer a fantastic experience of starry skies, working farm housing interactive, welcoming, and muddied barefooted farmers with smiles and conversations

Chickens clucking their way around the pen with offerings of early morning wake up calls Open land of overgrown grasses and patches of gardens growing veggies outskirts the mountainous view For those willing to forgo any extra comforts and take on a more relaxed (and while not, it may be for some, rugged) experience, this is a must! It’s a shared space, as it is a retreat house and expect to leave your shoes at the door as is Hawaii custom The cafe doesn’t disappoint either The chefs spread is abundant and beautiful sharing the farms own organic produce It was the best food we tasted in the island and looked forward to the next meal

Spent a week with my kids at this resort and i honestly don’t have a bad thing to say about it From our arrival, the customer was some of the best i have ever experienced It is a beautiful resort that is super kid friendly

Multiple pools for the kids to enjoy and a reflection pool for the grown ups The lagoon beach out front was perfect for laying out, building sand castles, and just relaxing in the water There were different activities to keep everyone entertained including an outdoor movie night My only real issue with this resort is that it’s on Oahu, so any time you venture off property there is horrible trafficI would highly recommend this resort!

Karen Scott

The resort is beautiful and well kept Our villa is spacious and has plenty of space for the 7 people Even the pull out beds are comfortable

The kitchens are equipped with more than enough tools to cook a full meal or a simple snack The view from the balcony is gorgeousThere are a ton of activities daily for kids and adults The restaurants are good and the food is delicious and comes out piping hotThe beach is gorgeous and because it’s in a cove there are little to no waves and very calm You can float in a tube and fall asleep it’s so calmThe pools are refreshing and offer something for everyone A quiet pool (reflection), a toddler/volleyball pool with a beach sand entry, and another pool with varying levels that has a waterfall, cave and separate slideThe ocean is clear, you can see straight to the bottom There are fish everywhere as well It’s amazing!Fabulous resort and worth the trip!

Great place for a vacation stay! It’s near right on the beach and has multiple pools for all ages (lazy river, slides, infinity pool, +18 area, man-made reef for snorkeling) They have rentals for some equipment like paddle boarding The resort snorkeling also costs money, but the other areas are free! The inside is very nice

You didn’t have to walk too far for elevators and parking was pretty easy We had a suite and studio rooms, both were nice The suite had a kitchen area with utensils, plates, and glassware It also had a laundry machines in the room, a big plus of us! Any time we asked for blankets or towels, the service was fast The view from the top floors is amazing! Definitely a resort feel and very kid friendly!

Tricia Pearl

I’ve stayed here twice as a “local” to this island, each time in a standard room, once with partial ocean, another with garden view Without a doubt the reason I’m willing to pay Disney prices to stay here has nothing to do with Mickey and Minnie I stay here for the undeniable TOP LEVEL safety at the pools

As a mom who comes here with my child alone, I will pay good money for that level of lifeguard coverage since it’s impossible to have eyes on your child at all times in a property this large with slides and a lazy river Poolside food service is also invaluable for a similar reason No shuffling to a cafe to get lunch while risking losing your chairs A cast member will bring the food right to your lounge area Unfortunately, the beds in the room are not comfortable- in my opinion It’s a firm mattress on a wood platform with only sheets on top to keep you warm The first time we stayed for 3 nights I was cold and uncomfortable and slept terribly I plan on only staying one night going forward I do not see the value in losing sleep when I have the option of sleeping in my own amazing bed

Claire Doak

Beautiful resort! The staff are all so kind, lovely, and personable They really make you feel like you’re home Everything is clean and orderly

The food is fantastic! The pools, hot tubs, and beach are so fun and relaxing The location is perfect, just far enough away from Waikiki that its quiet and calm, but close enough to the activity Clearly there are hints of Disney throughout, since it is a Disney resort, but its actually quite tasteful My whole family can’t wait to go back!

This place was amazing! There was a beautiful view and back porch My family purchased a 2 bedroom room, which was plenty of space for the four of us The smaller bedroom has two twin beds that could be split or merged perfect for the kids

The customer service was great and there was even a greeter to help us navigate the island and our rooms

Whitney Hicks

Our room was gorgeous Ground floor 2 bedroom We sat out onto our beautifully decorated lanais every morning for breakfast

Kids could play in the pools while we watched from the lanais And just a few short steps to the right was the beach The lagoon is perfect for kids Entirely protected waters with sea turtles!!The staff at Ko Olina is amazing And the villas are 5-10 minute walk (along the ocean) to fantastic restaurants and shops and ABC grocery storeIf you are looking for an elegant and kid friendly vacation- Ko Olina is perfect

Dave

We stayed a week at the Ko Olina Beach Villas in a beach tower condo on the seventh floor We loved the property! This property seems like it is more relaxed and quiet than the Marriott or the Disney Aulani next door The lagoon at this property was not very crowded compared to the others

Beautiful sunsets right out in front of the resort made for amazing evenings! The staff was courteous and easy to get a hold of I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a ocean front area on Oahu

A great hotel experience I stayed at Residence Inn for 9 nights, so really had a chance to see it in operation Every single member of the staff — front desk, breakfast service, housekeeping staff, groundskeepers — were helpful, professional and so friendly

This particular location is awesome They make you as a gust feel so welcomed This is my second time staying here and it’s perfect

The team members are the best The front desk employees night and day are the best They go above and beyond and that is true customer service Even though some were training, they were a team and they help each other out I had an issue with my cellphone and had to get a replacement shipped out to me That front desk kept an eye out for my package and call me the second it came in I appreciated that little kindness so much Thank you, thank you The hotel is so clean and I am a germaphobe The housekeeping sprays and disinfects the room before going in to clean The cleaning is impeccable 👌 I will be back

I honestly want to rate Hampton Inn & Suites Kapolei a five star, but I will make it 4/5 I will mention the downside first First, there was no microwave

I would recommend having microwave in all rooms I believe all the guests needs microwave to heat up their food Lastly, the ac Guests should be able to control the temperature in their rooms Me and my family were freezing due to how cold the room was and all we can do was wear jackets, hoodies or sweatshirts, and socksThe good side however is they have free breakfast every day, they can provide us toothbrush, toothpaste, etc (if we need one), get mini fridge, friendly & helpful staff, a swimming pool (already have clean towels for guests to ready to use outside), laundry room, a gym, and a beautiful lounge to stay at I also like how their water dispenser has that footstep to get water instead of using our fingers to pressSo overall, this still a good place to stay at It is a friendly and safe environment 🙂

Lavinia Morrison

I cannot say enough good things about this place! All of the staff are polite, friendly and professional This place is immaculateThe breakfast buffet is great

There is something for everyone The kitchen staff work tirelessly keeping the place clean and the food and beverages replenished There is a fitness center, pool and laundry room on the first door The decor is modern with very clean linesRight outside, in walking distance are a plethora of restaurants and shops!I highly recommend this hotel! ❤❤❤❤

My husband & I celebrated our honeymoon at Paradise Bay The views are astounding! Treat yourself to a mountain view suite! You won’t regret it! The views driving up to the main roads are also amazing! My husband was in love! Paradise Bay provides the quaint & relaxing feeling Yes, there are roosters but not heard all of the time

The grills, pool, docks are all amazing! The boat excursion with Brian & Captain Rollin a huge plus & amazing experience! No, they’re not serving breakfast or any dining but everything is within a 10 minute drive & they provide an excellent list of dining suggestions! Minor issues (pillowcase had stains, only 1 side of toaster working) but the views & your experience make those minor issues disappear! Would definitely come back one the breakfast & dining re-open (hopefully very soon!)

Overall the resort is nice It’s clean and they have some great services The staff were all very friendly

My only complaint is that the walls are very thin You can hear your neighbors dishes, conversations, etc as if they were right in your room If they could fix that by adding insulation or removing doors that connect rooms, then they would be fantastic

The location was wonderful and staff were very friendly Rooms are basic (they’ve got a few TV subscription channels that you can log into if you have your own account) and walls are very thin My only issue was that they are still charging a $19 per night Resort Fee (half off) even though they aren’t serving breakfast and they additionally charge $15 per night for parking

The Resort Fee covers kayak rentals, the fitness room, and pool towels, but if you’re not using those things, it would be nice if it at least covered parking on their property This added up to an additional $200 for 5 nights I’d prefer that they just charge for amenities à la carte Otherwise, we had a great stay
