LOVE staying here! It’s beautiful and the Staff are friendly If you stop by the Office, they will happily give you trail recommendations or any info you need OR if you want to be alone, each cabin feels private

It’s rural and rustic but had everything we needed for a romantic getaway We’ve come 2 years in a row, and we will come back next year

Cris Landa

We had a really lovely time staying at Montfair Farms It’s a rustic, peaceful getaway at the near Shenandoah National Park The trails on the property are really nice along with its proximity to places like Sugar Hollow

We stayed in cabin #3 with our 1 year old and dog, Charley We’d love to return some day and will be recommending it to friends!

Catherine Weston

Loved this find! I spontaneously wanted to do something special for valentine’s day after what’s been a very stressful year; this was such an awesome DOG FRIENDLY find! We were able to bring our fuzz ball with us (who loved the property, all the animals, and the dog cover for the futon 😉) as we toured the local wineries, explored Charlottesville and did what we love most — stayed in a rustic cabin The staff was super friendly and the cabin was the perfect unplugged getaway The only thing I wished for was at least a broom to help tidy up from the insane amount of mud — we would have loved to help!

I have stayed in a LOT of hotels and this one is amazing! The history behind it alone is reason to come back but the interior is a perfect combination of the historic building and modern touches The grounds are pristine and beautiful, good selection of food and beverages in the market, a clean but homey smell throughout I will absolutely be coming back!

Joe King

Wonderful inn Modern touches expertly woven in with older architecture If you like old wooden interiors but the comforts of modern furnishings and bathrooms then this is the place to stay

The staff were very nice but the actual hotel was not the best Confusing layout, the room was across from housekeeping which would be fine but the room smelled of strong mildew, I’m guessing from the housekeeping room itself The view was also not nice and it was confusing finding a room in the bottom level, overall would have been okay if it was a cheaper price

Not worth the money

When traveling, even for just one night, I look for cool, boutique, not over priced accommodations Gibson Warehouse checked all the boxes Adorable town, although we’ll have to come back another time to explore, the room was amazing, unique, comfortable and supplied all of the basic necessities

Easy self entry! Will most definitely return Looking forward to see the other room styles We stayed in No 2

Rachel Rodriguez

My husband and I stayed here over Christmas with our two dogs in the Womack 16 room Our stay was incredible! Our dogs were so comfy, the room was perfect for a long weekend even with 2 big dogs (no size restriction is the best!) My husband and I are both vegan and they made sure to have multiple delicious options for us for breakfast which was greatly appreciated and greatly exceeded our expectations! They made us feel truly welcome and at home

The location is also amazing, right downtown but also so close to Mary Baldwin which made it easy to take the dogs on walks with plenty of grass We will definitely stay here again, looking forward to it! Such a charming and lovely place with outstanding hospitality

Sally Kantzes

The location was great! Walking distance to the main streets in Staunton that had exceptional restaurants and shops The breakfasts were all homemade and beautiful to look at The servers were gracious and accommodating

The room was a different story The room lacked any of the charm that you’d expect in an historic bed and breakfast The only thing historic value was the sleigh bed The sofa and chair looked like it came from a college dorm room The TV was an ancient, huge like the kind we all got rid of as soon as soon as flat screen were available We were given microfiber towels that were old and looked dirty and you never got really dry I use the same kind to clean the car We had to ask for cotton and even those looked very old Because it was partially underground (we were told it would be darker), it felt damp When I got home and opened my suitcase, all of my clothes were damp and smelled like the room

1962pre

Wonderful stay here Really unique experience in a really cool boutique B&B Ross was an awesome host and when he found out my wife’s eating preferences (vegan), he went out of his way to have avocado, tomato and toast and plant-based yogurt and warm nuts available

And then the cats…wow! There’s also a cat rescue that we were allowed to visit Ross and his wife Brooke are working hard to make the world a better place and you should go and see them if you’re in the Staunton area

We have not even spent the night yet and I have nothing but great things to say about this place Booking was simple and received information day before When we arrived Megan met up with us and she was extremely kind and helpful

She gave us a tour of the beautiful property and some general info about the place She also provided with us with everything we need to make our stay comfortable It is very clean and beautifully decorated A lot of decor I noticed was from England where I’m originally from, which really brought me back to home You can sit outside, drink coffee and watch the cows If I was to ever get married again I would definitely consider this place The room is big but very homely I just adore this place and will be back! Thank you for accommodating us at your lovely place!

Chuck Connolly

What a great local place We stayed in the cottage and loved the white picket fence and landscaping We were able to view another room in the barn building and it was just as lovely with amazing views

The owners could not have been more kind I have a neck issue and the owners ran out and actually bought a new pillow I feel that was above and beyond for customer service The breakfast was so tasty! Thank you!

The hotel staff was polite and professional both during check in and check out The hotel was conveniently located off the interstate with lots of restaurants and shopping near by The room was warm, clean and inviting upon arrival

I liked how there were dispensers in the bathroom for hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner The bed was not too hard or too soft and the pillows were just right The breakfast was good as well There was a lot of variety: sausage, eggs, cereal, juice and waffles Overall I loved this hotel and would stay here again in the future

Tiffanie G Hairston

I reserved a room here for the indoor pool The pool was closed without any advance warning My daughter and I were dressed for the pool, got down there and a sign on the door said it was closed with no explanation why

Front desk said sorry with no compensation Light fixtures in room were dusty and rusted Water took a long time to get hot for a shower Seemed to be a much older hotel Had to look in the closet for a rack to put suitcase on and blow dryer Those items should be out But the room didn’t have any bugs and bathroom was clean We won’t be back

Beautiful hotel! Hotel lobby attendant David checked my husband and I in David was very professional, friendly and informative We stayed one night in the old wing of the hotel

Room was cozy Just perfect for the two of us Both the room and bathroom were clean, and the bed mattress and bed linens were very comfortable Thick bath towels were great too We will definitely be returning for another stay at Hotel 24 South!

jeanette andonian

Perfect location, clean, well-appointed room, friendly/helpful staff, comfortable king sized bed, convenient parking in garage under the hotel We stayed for 3 nights and explored the Staunton & the Shenandoah Valley region Was a great home base for our visit

Don’t expect to dine at the hotel as the restaurant isn’t open, but they have basic breakfast items available each morning (coffee, yogurt, fruit, etc) and there are plenty of nice lunch & dinner options in the downtown area, right around the corner from the hotel, just steps away Then hotel even has laundry facilities for guests, if needed, which was convenient for us since we were on a long road trip through the south We will return for sure!

Janet Fiorentino

We were able to secure a review at the last minute when our original reservation at another destination was cancelled The hotel was dog friendly and located in the historical area of Staunton Lots of restaurants, shops, bars, etc

within walking distance It’s an older hotel but updated, yet still keeps it charm You park at a nearby garage for a nominal fee a day I found the hotel staff very friendly You can get breakfast in the morning for a fee and the hotel has a bar on Friday and Saturday nights There is also an onsite gym Room comfortable–there were a few stains on the rug, but it was a pet friendly room My only complaint was minor–when getting into bed, we noticed the sheet (under the comforter) was wet We guessed perhaps the housekeeper did not change sheets after the last persons checked out and just straightened the comforter on top I called the front desk and they handled the situation quite professionally They brought us fresh sheets and had brand new sheets put on the bed the next morning I know many places are having to cut down on housekeeping staff, so I don’t fault them for the mistake–I appreciate how they handled it

Stephen Wood

The Inn is incredible The design of the building is amazing, which, if you review the pictures is hard to deny It is amazingly cozy inside with hand carved custom wood work every place you look

All the doors have their own intricately carved scene such as of humming birds, bears, or other natural inspiration The inn is tucked into the mountains and there a multiple places where you can enjoy an amazing view either for one of several intentionally placed picture windows, or outside on the tiers of decks and patios The innkeepers (and owners) are very nice They greeted us each morning in the “baker” with freshly made coffee, breakfast, and pastries The most impressive aspect of all though is the entire building was designed and built by the owner himself He said he had a couple of helpers, but still, it was hard very impressive of a project to accomplish! Great place to go for a long weekend or quiet vacation ANY time of year We’d love to go back in the fall or winter to see the changes One last thing Not one mosquito! May seem minot, but not if you’re like me!

Daphne Tuccitto

My partner and I had such a wonderful stay at the Fenton Inn! The room was cozy and the views were stunning (don’t judge the bed – I took this after we already stayed one night and I was lazy about throwing the covers back on in a photo-worthy manner, haha) We stayed in the Captain’s QuartersWill and Lilia were so welcoming and made a delicious breakfast for us and we had great conversations! Seriously the best hosts ever, and they provided great recommendations for other things to do in the area

Sean Murza

Simply put, the Fenton Inn and the amazing owners have gained one of the ultimate reviews from my boyfriend and I! Literally couldn’t say one thing about our mini getaway experience for his birthday in February that was less than 5 stars! If you EVER have the chance of staying here, do yourself the favor and escape, you won’t regret it! The most welcoming and warm people we could have dreamed up!🤩

My husband and I just enjoyed a two-day getaway to this inn and it was fabulous We stayed in one of the cabins Firstly, it was well cleaned and stocked with kitchen necessities for a home away from home stay

The staff and keeper were very friendly, communicated well, and extremely accommodating The views and relaxation our cabin offered were just what we needed for some R&R The cost of this stay is worth every penny We can’t wait to book another wonderful stay at The Iris Inn

Sarah Hebert

We stayed at the Iris Inn for our wedding weekend in April 2022 We were in the Hawks Nest Cottage and it was beautiful The space was clean, and comfortable

We used the cottage for the bride and her attendants to get ready, and the photos are wonderful with the view of Waynesboro below We didn’t mention that we were getting married when booking but the inn keeper saw the bride leaving and we were gifted a cook book and bottle of wine as a wedding gift Staff was very accommodating and the location is perfect! Linnea Blaurock

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel The manager was filling in overnight when we checked it, and she was very friendly and helpful All other interactions with the staff were very positive, a few people went out of their way to make sure guests were taken care of (housekeeping and kitchen staff)

We were traveling with a dog – not only is the hotel pet friendly, the staff really seemed to enjoy having them around This hotel does not have carpet, and the beds are solid so pets cannot hide underneath, which makes traveling with them a lot easier We will be back next time we are traveling this route!

Jodi Lewis

On the plus side, the staff was extremely courteous, the location was easy on and off the highway, and the room was spotless There was a huge TV and USB charging stations near the bedHOWEVER it is 3am as I write this review from my room because there is SO MUCH NOISE FROM OTHER ROOMS!!! The walls are paper thin

There is a group of kids above us or beside us that keep stomping around and talking/yelling I have yet to sleep tonight, and since this overnight was in the middle of a 12+ hour road trip, it will not be fun second half of the driveAdditionally, the fact that this hotel is more expensive than others in the area but you have to walk next door for a pool is kind of ridiculous (and the hotel next door would have been cheaper to stay at) Also, the rooms are terribly small! Pretty much walk to wall beds and a small walk way from the doorOverall, staff was super friendly and the breakfast was great however, I would NOT recommend this hotel with so many others at a better price point in the area (unless you want to be up-charged for modern style)

Jayme Warischalk

Room was clean and well appointed, and breakfast was good, as expected for a Hilton However, the woman working the front desk when we checked in was quite rude She argued with us that we were already checked in, even though we had just arrived

We explained we weren’t and didn’t have any keys to the room She expressed clear frustration over having to check us in Then I asked if I could have a plastic spoon, as I couldn’t find any in the lobby coffee area She made a huge deal over this request, telling me that the spoons are really reserved for breakfast and that if she was to give out spoons to everyone who wanted them, the hotel would be giving away hundreds of spoons I’m sorry, but I don’t think a request for a plastic spoon is out of the realm of expectations for Hilton’s service and price point She did eventually give me the spoon, after ensuring I heard her full rant on the matter I’ve stayed at many Hilton properties Never encountered a front desk person like this!

Recently went here after not going for several years, but I don’t think I’ll be going back It may be great if you’re an owner there, but for the public lift lines were simply too longI’ve been skiing for here for 35 years and never had lines this long here, even on holidays

And yes, I know one of the benefits of being an owner is to get quick-pass through lift lines, but when I see the same owners go through the line 5 times during my wait, it starts to seem a bit extremeBefore you even get to the slopes, you’ll need to find a parking spot I recommend getting there early because finding a parking spot was a nightmare The owner’s lot was of course not even half full all day, seems like it could have been better utilized These things aren’t the owner’s fault and I don’t begrudge them the privileges they paid for, this was a failure of Wintergreen to manage their resourcesI wasn’t real thrilled with lift operations safety either I worked at Wintergreen in high school, so I understand you don’t want slow down or stop the lifts unless you really have to, but some of the lift attendants were either not paying attention or didn’t know their role I saw several instances, and was involved in one where they kept the lift moving and were unloading people off at the top when someone had fallen the off-ramp Was there some room to get around them? Sure, but trying to get 5 people off a lift and all the way over to one side is pretty much impossible in 10 ftI could go on about how I was told to buy the non-refundable lift tickets before renting skis, only to find out they were sold out of skis, or about the somewhat ridiculous lack of seating in the restaurants, but I think you get the pictureThey get 2 stars because the snow was great and there weren’t any real ice patches, but next time I’m going to just drive the few extra hours and go to Snowshoe – the good just doesn’t outweigh the bad anymore

Beware If you do not get your equipment rental LOCKED down there is ZERO ability to get ANY refund for your lift tickets Rigidity at the utmost

Son purchased a lift ticket as gift to girlfriend, drove from Louisville, KY stayed, spent money in the area, etc, and when no equipment was available was not refunded at all, not even partially No equipment anywhere No rain check, no voucher Keith made it clear that refunds for injury or military deployment was available, so good news if you are called to war or break a leg you are good! The long legalese is there in fine print when you roll to the bottom of the agreement that you check off, so be sure to do that while standing in a 50 deep person line A voucher or something would’ve ensured more rolling into Nelson Co at a later date but I’m sure tourism folks and chamber will be glad to know of the taste left in mouths of visitors Beware poor college students #daysofcustomerservicearegone

New hotel, good breakfast, nice outdoor sitting area and friendly staff Our family chose a room with 2 queen beds The room is on the smaller side, but it motivated me to sit outside on the back patio which was enjoyable

The room was clean and comfortable Lots of familiar seemed to be enjoying the indoor pool I worked out in the fitness room and everything was clean There was a good selection of equipment, what you typically find in a hotel We’re returning to town in a few weeks and will stay here again

Pleasantly shocked!! The last few experiences with other Fairfield inns have left a LOT to be desired We booked this because it was in the location we needed and the Tru hotel was booked But this hotel completely blew me away

1 the rooms are clean, the building is clean and WELL MAINTAINED Lovingly maintained Elevators are cleaned and the doors polished!2 the customer service is sublime3 it’s so shockingly good This is an excellent Fairfield Inn & Suites I feel bad for them because other the other hotels hurt their reputationI have not found any negative things to comment on Ok the “worst thing” they had the fire going when we came in <3 , so we planned to put the bags in the room and go outside But they turned it off just as we were going to it I'm sure if i had asked they probably would have kept it on I didn't ask because it was getting late and is completely understandable to turn off at that time Their outside area is so nice Chairs with cushions super visually appealing and very cozy feeling Beautiful location on top of a hill, especially at night time it's beautiful to overlook Really great inside & out Stay here!! It is worth it ☆☆☆☆☆

We were hoping to enjoy a 5 star hotel…one pillow was left off of our bed and had no pillowcase This revealed an extremely orange stained pillow which we then did not use The next morning we showered and would enjoy luke warm water for about 3 minutes and then would lose almost all water pressure and it went to cold

LAST BUT NOT LEAST-my boyfriend lost his wallet in the room and when we went back for it they hadn’t found it yet They did find it a few hours later in the laundry, however, a $100 bill had been removed

My parents and I spent one night here in June of 2020, and while things were limited because of that, I really do appreciate the hotel for trying, and they certainly tried very well! There was no continental breakfast, but we were given a little doggy bag filled with enough breakfast items to make up for it!The gym and pool were closed though We very much enjoyed the room, as it was very spacious with two separate bedrooms, and a large living room

We stay at a lot of Residence inns and some of them have gone downhill But this location is in great shape Other than a few items of trash that fell behind a nightstand, the room was great

Comfortable bed, quiet room even though the hotel was pretty full Breakfast was better than most Residence inns and there was a lot of variety Gym was clean and the indoor pool was clean and inviting Definitely recommend

We stayed there on July 29 We were given keys to our room at 1:00pm, but they had not finished cleaning our room We came back at 530pm to what appeared to be a semi cleaned room

Sat down on the couch and the maid walked in on us without knocking, apparently unaware that someone was in the room We asked to be moved to another room that was ready Moved to room 301 where we discover no toilet paper, used washcloths in the shower, used whitestrips in the bathroom drawer and trash behind both night tables I understand being short staffed but do not give out keys to rooms that aren’t clean Its disgusting I have stayed at Marriott hotels my whole life and will be switching chains due to my latest experiences Management at this specific hotel did not seem concerned

We love Love Ridge! We’ve sledded there in winter and hiked in summer

a beautiful, incredibly relaxing and fun adventure We’ve stayed in a small cabin and also a larger chalet Both were charming and comfy in their own ways Outdoor hot tub and indoor foozball were faves of different family members There’s enough space for kids to run around, and the right balance of privacy & shared space for both introverts and extroverts to feel right at home 🙂

Tom Chmielewski

Our family held a wonderful reunion at Love Ridge and would recommend it highly to others Each of the five couples and kids had a different comfortable cabin Ours had a large enough deck and kitchen to host everyone for dinner

During the day the kids all played hide and seek and ball games in the field in front of the cabins It is such a safe and secluded spot that we did not worry at all about our kids running around by themselves between meals…just as kids should be able to do with their cousinsIt is close to some lovely hikes that connect to the Appalachian Trail Two of my brothers-in-laws also enjoyed the cycling from this spot as well during the days Nights were filled with s’mores and stargazing around the fire pit or relaxing in the hot tubThe owners are super interested in making a great experience at a great location I would encourage you to consider getting your family together at Love Ridge

Maria Curreri

Beautiful stay at Love Ridge The cabin we were in was a perfect mix of woodsy cabin plus every cozy amenity- huge bed, blankets like stuffed animals, fire place, hot tub, clean as clean can be

Our kids loved exploring all the nooks and crannies of the side trails We are eager to go back soon to see all the new projects coming to life with the new owners!

The accommodations were amazing The house is full of history which were described in lovely books left in each cozy bedroom The hosts were very attentive to our needs, beginning with the day we actually made the reservations

They called to ask about any special needs or foods to avoid during our stay The home cooked breakfast on both days was scrumptious and very fillingOrquida and Dan were wonderful hosts and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable We are looking forward to going back

Donna Moser

We spent two nights at the B and B and the owners were so friendly and accommodating We had a flat tire on the way and arrived after midnight and they waited up for us and had the lights on and door unlocked We went on the tunnel hike and were not aware that you need flashlights and they gave us lights to use on our hike

Plenty of coffee available self serve in the morning starting at 7 and the sit down breakfast was delicious The room was cute, clean and the bed was very comfortable Close to multiple wineries and hiking areas Highly recommend
