Staff is very nice Accommodations are less than Can hear kids banging the walls on one side, and a couple fighting on the other

Needed updating about 20 years ago And the “Bay View Suite” Yeah just cars racing down the road constantly Do not recommend Would NEVER have booked here, but used Hotwire for the first time in years First time I’ve gotten screwed booking through them

Evan Perri

The service and location was great But the room was not as good, the shower door didn’t fully close causing water to get all over the floor of the bathroom Every time that the air conditioner turned on it would make a clicking sound, you could hear everything that was happening outside your also

It might of just been our room though Other than that it was a really nice hotel

Pamela Lerch

I put 5 but 0, the worst hotel, dirty the balcony, the jacuzzi (also not working), the furniture, the carpet, the elevator and around the pool Expensive and they don’t give you any soap, everything is paid for, everything even the coffee in the room I pay only for the view $450 for one night

You also pay for parking and for using the pool I’m not picky but I have a 6 month old baby who was crawling and the dirt was very disappointing

My fiancé and I visited this hotel to see the venue there We are having our wedding there and seeing the venue in person made us very happy with our choiceWe stayed in a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen, dinette, living room and spacious bathroom

The hotel is very clean which is extremely important to me The staff is so helpful and friendly Director of Sales Melanie gave us exceptional hospitality, we felt so special on our entire stay! The Chef- William, was also Amazing and his food was absolutely delicious! We can’t wait to be there in July for our Wedding, we know that we will have a great team from The DoubleTree helping us to make our special day extraordinary!

Grace

Rooms are very spacious! The hotel is clean, although needs renovation and the “pool” is really a kiddie poolbut! The location on the beach is priceless!!! They have a tiki bar and small food shop downstairs, plus great service at the beach, very convenient and hustle free

And, there is Starbucks, Cuban coffee, full supermarket and many more food options across the street on Collins and within walking distance You really don’t need a car in Sunny Isles

Anna

This is a rear thing when I’m writing a negative review, but this one should be written as my experience at this resort turned out unpleasant1 The rooms are not prepared for visitors

The a/c did not work It was super loud and did not cool down the room as expected2 Another room they moved us, in did not have the extra lock which was suppose to be there3 The sink was leaking which caused the constant noise, but never fixed during our stay4 Umbrella costs extra $20 a day and is not included in the resort fee5 The staff is not welcoming, neither helpful, I tried to call to service desk many times to resolve the ongoing issues described above, but had to go downstairs as they did not pick up6 No restaurant on site No breakfast7 I didn’t have a chance to use them, but tiki bar is closing at 5 pm so might be good to know for those who don’t drink earlier :)8 Dirty hallways See the picturesAnd so on and so on…I am a Hilton honor member Believe me that worth nothing at that resort Not worth the money

The hotel has a great location, right on the beach and the pools are great I think there is plenty of chairs too to lay out The room we stayed at was nice but was not cleaned well

They also don’t have coffee makers in the room, which is ridiculous for this 4 star hotel! There is very little reasonably priced food options nearby The restaurants at the resort are incredibly overpriced and the quality does not match They’re charging $4 for Hilton coffee! The fancy sounding yogurt parfait i got for $13 was a small cup sized – not filling at all The $15 alcoholic drink was in an 8 oz cup They are taking advantage of the location they have – wish the quality matched what they are charging – it does not!

We stayed here for 4 nights during the week I have to say I was very apprehensive before arrival because of the recent bad reviews Our stay was absolutely wonderful, so I wouldn’t put a lot of weight on the negative reviews

Our room was spacious, clean and had a nice view The pool area and beach are amazing, clean and relaxing Umbrella rental is $30 a day and they set it up for you with chairs The seaweed can be a bit annoying at times in the water, but what can you do The lobby is super airy, open and clean I went down to the coffee shop every morning around 8 and the line was less than 4 minutes, coffee strong and food good They had lots of fresh pastries and warm sandwiches to choose from The grocery store inside the hotel was super helpful throughout the week for random snacking for 2 teens and drinks throughout the day The Playa restaurant had great food and strong drinks It does tend to get busy as there are lots of guests at the hotel and limited seating as all restaurants do so plan accordingly It can all add up financially with food and drinks after a few days, but what else would you expect at a beach resort, it’s not a Holiday Inn, but not more expensive than other vacations we have taken Overall our stay was wonderful and will absolutely bring my family here again

Carolyn Bernhart

Hotel and grounds were beautiful! Well maintained and very clean Staff were friendly and welcoming I had a King oceanfront room with balcony and the views were gorgeous

The hotel charges a daily resort fee for pool and beach use, unfortunately the weather was a bit too cold to enjoy either It would be great if the resort fee were optional for those guests not planning to use these amenitiesOverall, a great stay at a beautiful property for a reasonable price!

Sadly this hotel did not meet expectations Upon arrival my family and I became aware that we were next to a strip club The lobby was highly scented, which I liked but people with sensitivities surely would not

We came to understand why there was cologne everywhere when we got to the room The first room we were offered had a horrible wet musty smell I refused to stay in there The front desk staff was very nice, helpful and understanding offering us another room That room had a portable dehumidifier in it Clearly this hotel has water damage that is not being fixed I booked through a 3rd party and notified them and the front desk I would not be staying here and was informed by both the third party and the front desk that a refund would be issued when the manager, Juan, was back on property on Monday Juan gave the 3rd party the run around and made it very difficult to connect with him I then called personally No response Finally after much persistence on my end, that I just wanted a refund due to the fact we did not actually stay on the premises, it was resolved But NOT in a professional, timely manner Very disappointed

Jerry McCormack

I wish I could give this zero stars for the property itself and the manager Juan The staff is incredibly friendly so I feel bad for them but this hotel suffers from a moisture issue which is causing mold and mildew, and an unpleasant smell in the lobby and rooms To combat this, management is pumping in large amounts of perfume to mask the odor which initially is quite pleasant but becomes overpowering in a few minutes and caused us headaches

Rooms were full of mold in any crevace areas and had portable dehumidifers which was alarming to say the least Just don’t stay here, it’s in a terrible part of town anyway

mark malanowski

Stayed overnight with my loved one The room was clean but the lights flickered all night The ac was not working well and left the room completely damp feeling

The shower had no inside curtain The elevator felt like it would give out everytime someone came in The sound of it was really bad and loud Woke up to a homicide next door gun shots being heard at 5:30am definitely will not be back

SCAM ALERTEuropean business traveler’s experience – it might substantially diverge from your own tourist experience*Boutique hotel, definition:Specific rules for a hotel to be called “boutique” are not given, but, as in every artistic or architectural style, there are at least some guidelines that are usually followed:*A Boutique Hotel is small It should not have more than 100 rooms, because it has to offer a personal touch to every guestIt is an independent hotel, or part of an “only-boutique” chain

Let’s start with the fact that the boutique hotel’s lobby is closed, and by the look of it it has been closed like forever Gladly another guest saw me wandering around and helped me giving the information to proceed to the next block and go to the “small place on the corner, everybody is there” (I was going to understand this sentence later) So this hotel that should have offered an unique experience, doesn’t even have its own receptionSee picture of the the front desk, where people with reservations for the “boutique hotel” are in the same messy ridiculous space of the people who are in the cheaper Hollywood Beach hotel as well as the walk-in guests and the mini market clients And the 3 employees are completely overwhelmed*It is located in the city center or in a very trendy area, usually the main shopping oneOk, it’s just a block from the beach*It features a designer decor, with all the newest technological gadgetsHere, we’re already lost and by a long shot Besides the Mediterranean style patio, the rooms are tiny, the furniture is extremely cheap (if you are familiar with IKEA, this is 10 times cheaper) and not assorted No design, no gadgets, not even a complimentary coffee pod or a tea sachet*It feels part of the place where it is located, for example offering local foodWell, architecturally speaking, the place features a vaguely Mediterranean style, it’s pretty difficult to see it fit in the Floridan environment The view from the room is The back of a kioskThe hotel besides the breakfast doesn’t offer any food, not even a vending machine Ah, yes, the overpriced mini market with the super industrial stuff*A Boutique Hotel is not only rooms, it gathers people because it is trendy and cool to gather in its lobby, restaurant and bar Do not be surprised if the Restaurant Chef is a very famous one!Eeek, nope, there is no bar and the breakfast is one of the crappiest thing I’ve seen in 25 years of traveling I’ll edit with the video of the buffet and the awesome nice lady who was in charge of itI paid some 120$ per night and I noticed that Expedia mentioned 100$ to be paid upon arrival, without any further information When I checked in, the employee told me it was for cleaning and WiFi Since when cleaning is an paying option? Also it’s mentioned on a sign in the “hall” that cleaning is done ONLY UPON REQUEST and ONLY ON THE 3RD DAY of the stay (check picture) Since I was staying 4 days I asked why I should pay 4×25 since cleaning is going to be done only once And for the WiFi, I actually had mobile data that costed me 30$ for a month, so I really didn’t need the overpriced service But well, as you know, since I booked, I accepted the conditions (actually not, nothing was mentioned on Expedia, oh no wait, it was mentioned DAILY CLEANING and nothing about a supplement) At the end, despite having requested cleaning at least on the 3rd day, the room was never serviced and I was never given a detailed invoice about the 25$/day feeNow let’s come to the parking: self parking Self as Vs valet parking, right? Again, there must be a misunderstanding because parking is another ~20-30$ on top of the room price and of the 25$ residence fee per day It is also very passively agressively showed with signs the employees monitors “BUY OR GET TOWED” (ofc the price is not shown) Was “paid parking” too complicated to write? Or is it another trick to surreptitiously raise the final bill?

Rachel Warshower

This Italian family owned and operated hotel is simply outstanding and a great value for your money Beyond offering beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable rooms, plush linen, robes and towels, the attention to detail and the very personal service make this boutique hotel very special and unique The property itself is gorgeous, and as close as it is to the boardwalk and the beach, the ambiance in the lovely courtyard, with soft music, ambient lighting, inviting patio sets, and a running fountain, the courtyard is a destination unto itself

Alessandro, with his cheerful personality and genuine warmth, makes everyone feel like a special guest You’ll enjoy your stay here, but let’s keep this very unique hotel a secret, shall we? 😉

Elizabeth Rodriguez

I went to Casa Pelligrino in March, once I had stayed there 3 days I wanted to stay longer The Staff is wonderful they make you feel like your family

The rooms are super clean and the beds are top notch You are close enough to the beach yet you don’t here any boardwalk parties going on I go to Florida every 3 months and I would not stay in any other hotel This hotel is better than home itself

Me and my family of 4 stayed here Our family is a pool family and was really looking forward to the nice reviews and pool we saw online The pool was just that! Honestly it was a great place to swim

But the seating was absurd All the seats were packed and we had to sit on the ground This would have been fine if there wasn’t a whole empty owner section with around 30 open chairs that no one else could sit in I hope they give their guest more chairs if we return At this point in our stay we stopped going to the pool because it was the same and we just headed off to the beach The resort only has 4 elevators for over 40 floors of rooms Not to mention no service elevator, meaning every time you would get on there was a cart and service employee on it causing delays to be even greater We stopped on 15 floors to just get to the pool, on all 15 floors we could not pick up any of the passengers due to full capacity At the bar it was $25 dollars per shot and they were not worth it! Honestly I would not recommend this place for a spring break vacation, or a vacation in general

Shamil Gurshumov

Very nice apartments with a gorgeous view!Super cozy

The pool was clean, the beach as well!Loved the security personalUnlike 3 years ago when I was staying there and there were plenty of people at the pool that somehow were getting in so there was no room for us and we could not get an umbrella to sit under this time there were security everywhere making sure it is safe and no strange people on the hotel territory The negative: you will have to wait for the elevator sometimes for 20-30 minutes especially if you gonna stay at the lower floorsBy the time they arrive they are full and you have to wait again and again Had to use the stairs couple of times from the 10th floorOverall very family friendly place!Would definitely stay there again!

Great serviced apartments with nice hotel features If you’re expecting a 5 star hotel it won’t hit the mark These are more like comfortable premium apartments

The facilities are perfect amazing gym, pool, tennis and beach serviceI was a little skeptical at first given some of the google reviews about the lifts We experienced this issue once (we had to wait around 15 mins) the hotel was at max capacity and many people arrived simultaneously It was a little frustrating but all the other positives out weight this small inconvenienceStaff were great, valet was great We will come back highly recommend

It was our first time staying at an AC hotel and I was impressed how impeccable our room was I liked the European less is more with tiled floors and very simple but pretty decor Excellent check in and the outdoor pool was great for the family to enjoy

The breakfast all you can eat gave you two options for add ons like pancakes, scrambled eggs sausage or bacon all for a reasonable price Check out was simple The one thing It did not well for us traveling with kids was that there was no security at the pool and some guest were smoking not respecting the no smoking sign at the door, which made it a bit uncomfortable for a non smoking family with children Other than that the stay was great and will definitely stay again

I really wanted to love this hotel, but the truth is, is just not there1) Upon check-in, my credit card was taken for room incidentals I had already paid for my room charges prior to arrival

I was NOT told by the front desk person who checked me in that a $XX hold would be placed on my card Not a huge deal, but definitely worth mentioning if you will place a hold on someone’s credit card2) The hotel is just noisy, we could hear hammers (I assumed) banging, staff yelling to one another, lots of noise from everywhere it was hard to determine which was more distracting I didn’t get any sleep while at the property3) Not only was my sleep disrupted by the noise, but the bed is so HARD Not firm, but HARD My joints hurt every single night (Wed-Friday)4) The last thing and the most egregious issue I found was the rooms are NOT cleaned properly at all On our last day, we noticed the cleaning techniques used Our room was cleaned within 7 minutes I took the time of arrival and departure Cleaning products are not being used They may be available, but they are not being used by the cleaning staff ☹5) Lastly, I spilled some water on the floor Used one of the towels to dry the water up The towel turned from white to a dark smokey gray As I said before in #4 cleaning products may be available to the staff, but it does not appear that they take the time to use them This is obvious in the cleanliness of the floor after a water spillVery disappointed in this property overall, I stay with many Marriott properties, and this is by far the worse in many yearsIn fact, I have another reservation at the Dallas (Galleria) AC Hotel; hopefully, this stay turns out much betterLots of work today AC-Aventura/Miami

The front desk staff are all so nice and welcoming They accommodated a room move quickly and easily, we switched from 2 doubles with a couch to a king bed studioThe rooms are nice, comfy beds

Only part that was a bit strange was the frosted glass door to the toilet

The beach was awesome and the pool with side bar was amazing Definitely recommend!

Not a 4 star hotel in my opinion The lobby and restaurant are both nice, the rest of the hotel is between 2-3 stars at best Small pool, not enough chairs

The rooms are extremely dated, poor water pressure on the showers and toilets Elevators could not keep up with the demand 15-20 min wait during peak timesWe had 6 rooms, each of which had the same issuesSuggest spending your money elsewhere

Awesome awesome awesome experience!!!!Last week was a special week and I spent it at this hotel I stayed in two of the penthouse suites consecutively during the week and I could not have had a better experience My only regret is that I could not stay longer!I have been to other high end places for my birthday like the Sandals resort in Jamaica and was HIGHLY disappointed, distressed, and displeased so I truly appreciate awesome service when I receive it!Hotel was very very clean especially my suites! The front desk manager Derek went out of his way to help me even before check on

The other day time manager Jose was ultra helpful and considerate also and went above and beyond for me AFTER check in during my stayThe valet team was awesome, and the manager Juan, I believe, was outstanding and just so good to meALL hotel staff I encountered were friendly, hard working, and so kind I did not have one bad experience, from housekeeping, to valet, to the restaurant, to the towel assistants on the beach! The rooms reflect what is seen in the photos exactly, and the views are so lovely! I was almost in tears! You have beach views from all rooms, even on the bay side of the hotel! It was just so peaceful here!I highly and without reservation recommended this establishment! I will certainly return again soon!!!!

we were there for a few days at the beginning of March and just want to warn new visitors about a couple things – first, the only bar on the property doesn’t open until 4pm Not great if you were planning to drink at the pool Speaking of the pool, not sure what was going on with the water but getting my hair wet resulted in a disgusting residue that required multiple shampoos to remove

Other than that, the hotel is adequate, but nothing special Oh yeah, no microwaves in the room, which is unusual and inconvenient

Zae Dareus

Associates at the front desk told me that I was good to go with parking, and now after my trip I see a charge for parking I called the business they advised I CALL THE LOBBY & speak to the manager about it Manager basically acted as if I was lying about the charge

She claims that her associates did tell me that parking is a charge when in fact they did not So I asked basically I have to pay the charge even though the associates did not inform me of it She said blankly “yes” This is poor customer service, the room had not microwave , barely any air

This stay was a very nice one and the hotel is extremely beautiful and well keptThe only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because one day before coming in I called to get help picking a nice room viewing the pool I e-checked into that room and then ONE hour before arriving to the hotel I called to make sure I still had my room and they said I did but then when I arrived the girl at the front desk gave me a completely different room facing a parking lot

She said my room wasn’t clean which confused me because I had called an hour before to ask and I was told I was all good with the original room I selected The girl made no effort to help me until I asked to speak to a manager and THEN she suddenly had a room available for me It still wasn’t fully over looking the pool but it was definitely better and I thank her for helping us get something a little better Other than this the stay was lovelyThere was one employee specifically who made our stay so much better and that was Joseph He helped us with our luggage and was so sweet and genuinely a kind person He would approach us just to chit chat and ask us how our day was He would even recommend places for us to eat without us having to ask Thanks so much Joseph, we really appreciated you!

The hotel was a great value and location, with a nice pool, and beach access that worked great The best thing about the stay was Barbara at the desk She was ON IT! I watched her show true hospitality to not only our family, but several other customers

The hotel is in very good condition, has a reasonable resort fee for all that’s included, and valet parking that’s fair-priced and offers quick service We were thrilled with our stay here

Diane Kramper

We traveled for a business trip From the moment you drive up the valet staff is so welcoming Everyone at the front desk always met us with a smile

The lady at the grocery food kiosk was always friendly & made the best cappuccino in the house The restaurant staff & bar tenders all made you feel very welcome & the food was fabulous Such a great place to stay

We loved everything about the JW Turnberry The moment we walked into the property we were welcomed by the friendliest bellhop He guided us to our room and gave us a great tour of the amenities on the way

We had one very small concern about our room and they sent housekeeping immediately Once again, the staff was cordial and niceThe Tidal Wave (water park) was fun It was a adult only trip and even we enjoyed it But I will say, the adult only pool with towel service was my favorite part (and their staff was amazing too)! You know it’s a great stay when you don’t want to leave This resort truly knows how to treat their guests and maintain a beautiful property I have no doubt we’ll be back again!

Don’t waste your money if you’re going for the water parkThe entire reason we stayed at the Turnberry Resort was to enjoy the water park with our eight year old son We were in town last Thanksgiving and stayed off-site, but visited the park twice and had a wonderful time

Unfortunately, for a park with a capacity of over 3800 people, it is apparently acceptable to have only fifteen tubes for the upper two rides We spoke with management, who didn’t seem to be all that concerned and even said “that’s the way it’s always been” When we in formed him it was not our first time at the resort, the response was “well, that’s what it is”At this point, I don’t believe we could recommend Turnberry for that reason alone It is quite more expensive than other hotels in the area and when you can’t even use the main attraction, it’s kind of pointless Also, the staff seemed more concerned about pleasing the special parties each day than addressing concerns of patrons who were staying at the hotelThis was one of my worst experiences with a Marriott to date

Annette Herrera

We have stayed here twice and have enjoyed their water park both times & absolutely love it here! Looking forward to being back soon The pools, the slides & the lazy river are great too Hotel and Pool/park area are well maintained & clean

All staff members have been welcoming & accommodatingThe only reason why I am giving them a four star is because I feel like there should be a different system for outside guests The first time we went, there were so many non guests in the pool area that a lot of the hotel guests had nowhere to sit I feel like hotel guests should have priority

My family and I just came back from a 5-day trip to Margaritaville and I must say, we enjoyed every minute! The staff was amazing and very helpful, the rooms and common areas were all very clean, there is entertainment, and the pool area with the slide next to the bar is amazing, makes you feel like you are on a cruise 🙂 I like that they have activities for the kids by the pool, and the drinks, are fantastic! Everything is within walking distance, so you really don’t need to leave the resort area The only complaint I have is we were not able to bring our pup with us, the hotel charges a $250 NON-refundable fee, this is even for service animals :/ I feel there should be at least a portion of it that is refundable Other than that, I would highly recommend it!

Lawrie Molle
