Great location Plenty of food within walking distance right around the hotel and countless more within a 5 minute drive I stayed for 3 weeks during work training and the rooms were very comfortable with plenty of space and amenities

Updated and clean Loved having a separate sitting area from my bedroomEvery single worker was professional, friendly, and helpful Hotel breakfast is included and it’s above average Nothing spectacular but definitely appreciated and very convenient I 100% would stay here again when I come back for recurrent training

Excellent hotel Staff makes it superb! Always friendly and welcoming! The hotel is autograph collection so it is expected to be top notchGreat Italian steakhouse restaurant on site, good size and very complete gym

Common areas are perfect, clean and fresh new designRooms are ample, comfortable, to rest and work Bathrooms are perfect and walk in shower is flawless Great water pressure and good space TV size might have been a miss for such great room But just being pickyThe speakeasy bar at the basement is fantastic It give you a feel of exclusivity Drinks are on higher end price but they are good Also keep in mind to make a reservation in advance, not only is it a speakeasy, it is very popular with guests and patrons from other hotels nearby So rarely will you allowed in with no reservation specially of you have a group of more than 2

Nice hotel in the heart of Downtown There is parking garage right beside it that is $12/night or free with your stay Scan your hotel card

Staff was friendly and the lobby restrooms were clean, warm on a cold day, and smelled of berries There is a steak restaurant that opens at 5 for dinner The room we stayed in had complimentary coffee and tea Beds were comfortable with nice pillows The shower head is great and gives you a nice, steamy shower

Cameron Statler

Hotel is clean and comfortable The restaurant has great tasting food and is pricey for what you get, but that is typically expected at hotels The bartenders were a breath of fresh air as they actually worked with a smile on their face and were engaging

Only downside to this hotel is the technology that they use for the TV’s Limited selection of apps and everything had to be streamed with chromecast

We stopped for a quick night stay It was very easy to get to the hotel off the highway The staff was friendly and welcoming

Our only hiccup was that there weren’t sheets on the pull out couch and we had to go get some at the desk Not a big deal at all There is a great breakfast area and we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast before getting back on the road Will be staying here again on our way home 2 Thumbs Up!

Worst business trip ever – the room and breakfast was great actually, but the problems and treatment by the staff made it a nightmareThe hotel was scheduled through Expedia, which was prepaid, and when I arrived to check-in everything went smoothly Later that evening I noticed the wifi login not working and I call the front desk to have them tell me “my payment was declined” and that I need to come down and provide a new card or I have to leave

If I didn’t call for this wifi issue I would have had a terrible morning surprise Not only was payment already taken days in advance by Expedia, but they also wouldn’t just let my work provide a new card to use to pay for the hotel room – they required my manager to completely recreate an appointment online (wouldn’t allow it over the phone) with a new credit card for them to process a new payment – they charged my company twice for the stay and the process took them 3 hours, from 9pm to 11pm that night to fix itI would have given this 2-3 stars and considered this hotel again if the staff wasn’t so extremely rude throughout the entire process, I get mistakes happen and I understand, but speaking to me like I am incapable of paying like I am a freeloader trying to get a free night at the hotel, instead of just helping me get back into the room I already checked into, is not correctI wish that was the end of it, but every day that I stayed there my keycards to unlock the door stopped working the next day, and I had to stop what I was doing and walk back down to the front desk to get it set back up, every day

The hotel was ok for the most part The staff were all friendly and helpful, the breakfast was decent, beds were comfortable Two things majorly bugged me however

The room always felt damp Like the towels, sheets, and the carpet felt like they had gotten wet and weren’t quite dry I kept having to crank the AC to get it to not feel damp in the room The other issue was the weird barn door for the bathroom Oh, and there’s no microwave in the room

Ugh I hate leaving poor reviews, especially because I love staying here usually on business but my most current stay was extremely frustrating and NOISY It is typically quiet, but tonight has been extremely loud in the hall and just constant noise with constant closing/slamming doors and foot traffic There were a lot of young 20ish somethings staying on my floor when I checked in and that made me super nervous just for the noise factor

I got to my room and love the convenience of the digital key, I had traveled and worked for 12hours I had my hands full with dinner and my luggage and my digital key didn’t work I called the front desk with expectation that someone would just come up to the 3rd floor and let me in or they could reset my digital key Well they made me come all the way back down to the lobby to get it sorted out, with my dinner in hand Then at about 9:45 there was a constant pounding on my door They were 20 something aged kids and I didn’t know who they were The knocking got more and more aggressive and inappropriate I called the desk and basically made a noise complaint They said they would send someone up but the noise level and commotion on my floor hasn’t really stopped since it started about 8:30 I unfortunately will probably choose to stay at a different location going forward They did handle my requests today and noisy guests I understand they can’t always control but I know I won’t get a good nights sleep So staying elsewhere next time

We came into town for my dad’s funeral I reserved 2 rooms and called in advance to let them know we would be arriving late on Thursday as our flight landed at 11:15 pm After a slight delay in Denver, we arrived at the hotel at 12:30, tired and exhausted

We saw there was a sign saying the attendant had stepped away and to dial “0” on the lobby phone directly behind us only to hear the phone ring at the front desk in front of us We stood in the lobby for 15 minutes before Sara came strolling back to the front desk with no apologies for making us wait We finally received the keys to our rooms on the 3rd floor The first room was great, but the second room was full of cleaning supplies, a vacuum, and one of the beds was unmade We went back downstairs to let Sara know Still, no apology Her reply, “I wish they would mark the rooms if they were not available” She gave us a key to another room, which she said was an upgrade We go to that room, only to find it occupied by another guest Mind you, it was super late and the situation could have been much worse if that guest came after us Went back downstairs to let Sara know that there was already someone in that room Her reply, “What the heck!’ At this point, I was super frustrated and beyond tired and told her to just cancel the 2nd room and we would all just stay in one room and told her I would speak to the manager in the morning The next morning, I did speak with a young man, who said he was the manager He didn’t seem all that interested in what happened as he did not try to go out of his way to rectify the situation He just said the room was canceled and there was no charge for the room If we did not have so much to do to get ready for my dad’s funeral we would have gone to another hotel The customer service was horrible and the fact they were not too concerned about us entering an occupied room at 1:00 am was mind boggling The young lady who checked us out on our last day was actually very nice and apologized for the situation She said she that she does not usually work at the location, but would be sure to let management know about the situation For future trips to Wichita, the Hampton will not be on my list of places to stay It’s really too bad, because it’s a nice hotel in a great location!

We had our daughters wedding reception here in the grand ballroom Tacha was amazing to work with! The staff were kind and so helpful They worked with our budget and ended up being less expensive than other places who didn’t provide any of the amenities that Holiday Inn did

The rooms were clean and we we more than pleased with everything!

Barbara Saunders-Jones

I was most happy to find an attached restaurant & bar I hate to drive all day and then have to drive to supper The place is large, with facilities for gatherings, etc

Beds were comfortable and rooms clean Desk staff could have been a bit more “engaged”; restaurant staff in the evening was excellent but breakfast staff were unorganized, forgetting simple things like butter for toast, etc The place is showing its age a bit, but the closeness to the Interstate is perhaps its best feature

Carrie Yale

The all star queen working solo at the restaurant needs a raise She was overwhelmed and still smiling Her energy was on top

Hope she is appreciated by the company as much as we appreciated her excellent service Definitely recommend this restaurant and hotelUpdateIt was the beautiful queen who worked last night

Without going into too much detail, the front desk host we had last night (June 1st 2022, I don’t remember the woman’s name) was more accommodating and lovely than we could have ever hoped for It was such a pleasant experience and I would recommend this place to anyone The room was beautiful as well

You could definitely tell it was clean and personalized No weird smells, dirt, or bugs, and the appliances were newer as well I appreciated the added sanitary measures such as the plastic sleeve for the remote Thank you to the hotel staff, especially the front desk lady, for a wonderful stay

It’s 0221 and I cannot sleep I left for work this morning (yesterday morning) and my bedroom window, to the best of my recollection, was closed and my do not disturb sign was on my door When I can back my window was open about an inch and I was unable to close it

I called down to the front and the gentleman (well, not gentleman, or else he would have come and closed it like he said he was going to) said he would be up to help me I closed the drapes and am covered in mosquito bites Itchy and miserable In case you’re wondering, the sound of the highway is lovely!

Douglas Welden

Had my son set up here for his honeymoon and they turned them away because he was 18 not 21 I have sent employees all over the country not 21 yrs of age and they had no problems checking in So I would highly avoid this place they obviously discriminate so

Be warned also they have horrible customer service I have emailed the Marriott corporate office about this matter and I regularly used them about 200 stays a year with my crew and will be staying somewhere else now

Draya and the front end manager offered amazing customer service All of the staff we encountered were nice and professional Our rooms were clean and my family of five slept comfortably for the weekend! They also offered one of the best free breakfasts we’ve had! Not to mention and overall nice facility! If you’re a large family staying in Wichita, I’d highly recommend

Dedhra Starr

If you decide to stay here and have an issue don’t expect the general manager Stephanie Sparlen or Head of housekeeping Ms Lorie to assist They will dismiss you when you call about staff not turning in items, they will hang up on you, they will make up details when Guest relations investigates and will down right lie

Pray you don’t have to encounter them

Great place to stay! No fuss hotel Rooms are not cleaned everyday unless you ask I think that is how they keep the price down

Breakfast was great They had this unique machine that made pancakes with literally a wave of the hand They had a different egg everyday along with a different meat English muffins and bagels were also there We will use them again

Chad Burroughs

My wife and I stayed here on 6/14/22 in room 215 Room size is very small

like you have to go into the hallway to change your mind small No closet or microwave Bathroom shower is a joke Shower head produces a mist at best Tried all settings, and was still bad Mattress was horrible Pillows were there for showso bring your own AC would “clunch” when it kicked on and off So good luck sleeping Hardwood floor seams are split and openso don’t go barefoot Best part was the rooms are so small they cool down very fast

Jet Hill

No complaints about the hotel or amenities, but the behavior of people staying in this dorm type environment is like a “free for all” On my stay I decided to stop after a long day and try this place due to location to nearby activities, as a diamond member I appreciated the diamond member parking spots near the front As the evening went on people were running up and down the halls of the floors, there was a team of baseball players running around the hotel banging on doors and running away, the noise from chicknpickle directly next door went well past 11 pm with bass and music penetrating the walls, and then a guy was outside my room talking on his cell phone loudly, again between 11 pm and midnight and after about 30 min of multiple conversations I poked my head out as I had been operating on 4 hours sleep, I asked him calmly if he could take his conversation to his room or to the lobby , he quickly replied to me to go eff myself and I’d had enough and stepped out to invite him to tell me that again, of course he wasn’t brave enough when I confronted him, I went to get the desk attendant, very friendly but overwhelmed young lady that night due to all the chaos

The were nice enough to not charge me for the room but as a result of the style of hotel I cannot recommend this hotel to the business traveler Quiet hours and the ability to have privacy is important and this is more like a dorm atmosphere with everything in common and very thin walls

Always enjoy staying at the Hyatt The hotel is well located to enjoy the many activities in Wichita while walking down town The staff was professional and helpful

The bar and dining area were great as always The food was excellent and service was fast The on site coffee shop also provides a nice selection of beverages This was my first time back since the pandemic and the room I had, a corner king, needs some work The carpet was worn, furnishings showed their age and cleaning could have been better Table was sticky from soda and the nightstand lamp was covered in sticky coke Not the quality I expect when staying at a Hyatt Hopefully, room standards improve on my next visit as it truly is a great hotel in Wichita, Kansas

Jase Cameron (Jasers)

I did a massage for one of the guests at this hotelReally beautiful place insideLobby is clean, extra spacious, and the staff were very helpful

I needed help with my massage table because the wind was blowing so extremely hard, I could not even open my doorsAndre, who was a jack of all trades, was extremely kind and gentlemanly to help me outThe room I set up in was very simple a bed, a television, two night stands, and a breakfast table with two chairsThere was a shelf as well to store your personal belongingsNo fridge, no microwave, I don’t even think there was a coffee maker in thereBathroom was spaciousNice decor, super simple room for one or two people max

Jamie McCallum

We checked in and did not notice we had no bath towels, until I was ready to step into the shower at midnight Roomy called the front desk and they would have them at the front desk The person at the front desk had hand towels

When asked if this was their largest towel, was told yes it was a bath towel I made it work We finally got bath towels the next day Other than that, the stay was enjoyable and the staff were helpful and professional Please educate your front desk staff the difference between a hand towel and a bath towel

I am extremely OCD about cleanliness & I expect my room to be updated in style & wear & tear!I read the reviews to be honest a few that made me nervous but we was only staying one night & it was close to the wedding we were attending so we booked it!I was pleasantly impressed! When we came in they were busy a gentleman said we will be right with you, please help yourself to a cookie & a drink! Once the young lady got off the computer & was helping get the other guest what he was asking about, he jumped in and got us checked in made conversation w/ us as he checked us in! Very friendly , I wish I had paid attention to his name! So he could know how much we appreciated him making us feel welcomed! We got to our room, it was extremely clean considering we asked for a early check in, to get ready for the wedding we were attending!! The furnishings were nice and carpet was stain free and clean as well We are looking forward to breakfast in the morning before we head out for our 6 hour drive home It’s a bonus that there was a quick trip across the street to get a few midnight snacks and restaurants within walking distance! 😊♥️

Moneek Graves

Nice looking lobby Breakfast was just okay But it did have a lot of great choices Sausages, chicken fried steak gravy

Eggs and eggs with ham, waffles breads and fruits Bed was firm with a few lumps but okay to sleep in Nice size room with microwave refrigerator Parking lot was VERY well lit Stayed in room 315 The only reason I’m giving it four stars is because the housekeeper knocked on my door at 9:00 am on my day of checkout Unacceptable 😳 Check out was 12:00 pm

Laura Myers

Maintenance was called twice for a toilet issue We asked for a new room at 10pm, they said none were available At 2am the toilet overflowed

Given a new room at 3am When we checked out the next day, the lady at the front desk was incredibly nice and took my info for a manager to call Haven’t received one The second floor smelled and the breakfast area was so hot it was almost unbearable to be there This was my first, and last time booking with a Best Western I will stick with Hilton hotels, and the Hyatt in Wichita

If you’re looking to take a large group or travel team to this hotel- I’d pass We were asked to leave the pool at 9:30 (they close at 10:00) We were also asked to leave the lobby while eating pizza at 9:30

We asked for a late checkout, but had housekeeping enter our room without knocking around 10:00am Not to mention, no alcohol can be consumed in the lobby I feel that some may prefer this, but as someone who prefers my pizza with a beer, I would have appreciated the notice

F kafka

Chose this location as I knew I’d be tired on arrival and wanted easy access to a restaurant and the highway Check in went smoothly and as expected My room appeared clean although I discovered pieces of candy and food under the desk making me question how hard they worked to clean and sanitize the room

Extremely strange was the fact that for my “convenience” I needed to go downstairs to the lobby if I wanted a drinking glass (see image) Additionally the drain in the bathtub wouldn’t stay open meaning you needed to finish your shower before the tub filled up Small things but I do expect not to go searching for a plastic glass in the lobby

Nayeli ibarra-rainey

Loved the stay here! I checked for dirty places or linen before making myself comfortable Everything was amazing! Everyone was awesome The older gentleman working the cafeteria on the weekends was amazing and very helpful

I didn’t catch his name 😔 I put 5 stars for mostly everything and very well deserved except, when I asked the cleaning lady in Spanish if she could put some clean towels and refill the shower gel in the room while they were cleaning the rooms and responded with “yeah ok I will!” Gracefully even repeated the room number! When we got back in the room that night, she didn’t do what she said she was going to do! I hope she just forgot the room number! I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt I guess 😒 Stayed 3 nights! They sure do great ignoring the room when it has the DO NOT DISTURB sign! ☺😅 Wichita was great!oh gotta recommend the SALTGRASS steak house! The cheese cake was like no other! Trust me!!! Also the Popcorner was a delight! And the Casino was Amazing! We won $200 🤙

The hotel is easily accessible from I35 as I was traveling through the area I felt safe as a solo traveler The room was clean and breakfast a typical Hampton Inn breakfast buffet

My only disappointment was that there was not a refrigerator in the room It was my fault for not taking note of this as I made the reservation prior to my stay

Jess B

Usually super clean, decent breakfast, and friendly staff We’ve stayed at least a dozen times at this location Occasionally there’s something that needs helped, but that happens everywhere

All in all A safe bet for staying in wichita Close to the highway A gas station A bank Food And no residential area too close for it to be a bad neighborhood

Sarah Sikes

To say this needs a full renovation is an understatement Dark, dreary, and overall just sad It’s clean enough, but when it’s that old nothing looks clean

Much smaller than pictures appear Area quite sketchy I literally watched a young man dig through the dumpster at the Fairfield for food I did not feel safe I cannot speak to the service as I checked in and out via the app and overall all of the aforementioned issues are completely outside of the staff’s control

We really enjoyed staying here It was a great location, very clean, incredibly friendly and accommodating staff We liked the touches of history that were included in the decor

We were able to walk to dinner each night because there were plenty of options nearby Free parking in the garage next door was very appreciated as well Our room was quiet, despite the hotel being nearly at capacity No continental breakfast or pool, which were the only downsides, but for our trip, it was exactly what we needed!

Our 2 day stay was highly anticipated The room was as described and the beds are quite comfortable The hotel either does not provide cleaning each day or we were skipped

We had no fresh towels, no trash emptied, nothing was addressed For a high-end charge I do expect an equal level of service I requested a trash bag at the front desk as all the tiny trash cans were over flowing The front desk asked how big of bag we wanted, as if this was a normal request I am the person that will thank staff in the hall for a taking pride in their work, for making my stay comfortable, as I have done their job in my younger days Not a single member of the cleaning staff was seen on our floor until we were heading to check out Granted, we were on the go throughout the day But doesn’t that give you more opportunity to get in a room and complete the basics? Disappointing is a mild description of the stay

We really enjoyed our stay The huge window in the room and great historical touches to the room and around the hotel were top notch There were two issues that were more about personal preference

First there was no counter space in our room in the bathroom It might have just been in the room we had since it was handicapped accessible, which we were not in need of The other issue was it was a bit noisy from people walking around shouting outside Not necessarily the hotel’s fault On the plus side it was super clean and the staff were friendly

This is a new experience for me with this hotel The rooms are smaller and designed for what you would actually use it, to sleep They have several areas around the lobby that you can use to socialize or relax

They have a business lounge for office workers for those that need to work Loved the outdoor pool, giving one the ability to get some sun and swim The workout/ ” Recovery Room” was nice, but the setup is not great for those who love morning workouts The sun, beating down through the window with no low-e coating made it very hot, driving the temperature up to 78 and even 79 by the time I left In the shared pic you can see the temp was set at 68, but you could not even feel the air coming from the vents For a place that says that they take pride in cleaning, they failed to clean the bars and dumbbells as you can see with the dirty towel when I cleaned the ones I used This is actually why I dropped it down to 4 stars on top of the hot “Recovery Room” They do offer free coffee in the mornings, but they charge for breakfast items I would suggest that you go to a restaurant because $5 for a Jimmy Dean sausage and biscuit that you have to microwave is insane If you like the free hot breakfast offered at other places, then this place is not for you If you like an inexpensive place to sleep and enjoy a wonderful outdoor pool and patio for sun bathing along with a great bar and social seating area indoors and outdoors with a gas fireplace, then go here and enjoy yourself If they fix the sun problem in the “Recovery Room” with some type of blinds or something and keep the weights clean, it would be worth a 5 star rating

Despite a few minor flaws in the hotel property itself we enjoyed a short 2 night stay mostly thanks to the incredibly hard working Jennifer Sheffield! This young lady went well above & beyond to help us with any question or request we had She was there upon our evening check in & then again back at the front desk early morning with a smiling face and willingness to help make our stay as comfortable as possible She alone is the reason we rate this stay & property 5 stars! Thank you Jennifer for your amazing customer service & dedication, we truly appreciated all you did for our family 🙂

Pros: bed is comfortable, staff was friendly Cons: broken safe, booked a king size but was given a room with 2 queens because there were no clean rooms with king size beds, the lighting is not good, the toilet was running, pool was closed, and the paint job is awful None of these cons really impacted my stay but they might for other guests
