Husband and I just got to the hotel tonight The property and location is absolutely nice! The place is extremely clean but I have to be honest, my husband and I are globalist members and the lady at the front desk working now does not recognize hyatt loyalty members We booked this hotel last minute since we had a long drive going back home and got in late

We event went out of our way to find a Hyatt hotel since we want the stay to go towards maintaining our membershipWhen I asked if there were any rooms facing the riverfront, the lady at the front desk said there are in fact rooms available for upgrade, but we would have to pay an upgrade charge I told her that I’ve never had anyone tell us that as globalist members, but if that’s their policy at this hotel then it is what it is I just informed her that the perks of being a globalist are free upgrades and more subject to availability Since there was availability then we would love an upgrade She said she could honor the room and it probably won’t mess up their inventory? Whatever that means It was honestly disappointing when I went to grab the key and said thank you and the lady did not say anything back as if she was annoyed that she had to offer the upgrade That was honestly the most disappointing front desk experience we’ve had at Hyatt hotels Is unfortunate that we went out to of our way for this hotel to receive rude service

We were very comfortable at this hotel The staff is very nice and everyone was accommodating when we needed anything Special shout out to the kitchen staff – the breakfasts are truly outstanding! We stayed for several days over Christmas 2021, and had a chance to sample several of the dishes

Everything is made of fresh, delicious ingredients The portions are generous There’s a range of options; many are super healthy If you’re wondering, I’m not an employee – I live far away: )

This places was disgusting First of all no one seems to ever answer the phone when calling the front desk I checked in on July 2, 2022 for one night

The hallway did not have any a/c and it was extremely warm with a foul odor Upon walking into my room, it had a foul odor as well The bathroom sink had a huge crack in to that leaked onto the under cabinet of sink and onto floor The shower had no grab bars which is a huge hazard especially since the shower door did not close all they way which caused water to gush onto the floor of the shower making your floor towel soaked The couch had stains on it and the carpet looked dirty I paid almost $200/night for my room which I feel like I got robbed bc my room was disgusting This Sheraton must do better especially since they’re charging so much for their nightly rate

Danielle Reily

This hotel was a dump Our arrive check in time was for 3:00PM Our room was not ready until 3:45

When arriving to our room it smelled like someone had smoke a whole pack a cigarettes in there the night before The hotel tried covering it up with some kind of strong spray The pillows the towels everything smelled like smoke The room is outdated Costumer service was horrendous Don’t stay here

Amazing! Stopped into the historic bar for a drink and it was breathtaking! A walk around the lobby gave us insight on the history and also local attractions currently happening The bar is part of an elegant restaurant, but you will be served if you are casual Lots of activity

Lively room with true craft cocktails Very impressive!

Wife and I have been coming here for decades for getaway weekends Why? The place is cool, the gym/sauna are uninhabited, and if not for weddings the entire hotel would be ours alone The people are nice, the macaroons a tradition, and the Green Room romantic (both before and after the renovation)

The bad: prices have been climbing; rooms not getting rehabilitated (yes gold carpet, I have seen you since the 90’s); and room service is often spotty on the weekends (best to get dressed and have brunch in the Green Room)

Sxmply CAS

Lovely hotel with a gorgeous lobby and restaurants on the first floor The staff was friendly and attentive Valet is sometimes slow and I would wait past the time given to get my car

I wish the rooms included a microwave None of the other reviews spoke about the renovated gym It’s probably the best I’ve seen in the hotel The rooms are fine except for the slow draining tub

Great property, SUPER CLEAN, well appointed rooms with everything you need for an extended stay or even just for a few days Staff were awesome and very helpful in acclimating me to the area, as this was my first time in Wilmington I’d definitely stay here again if I’m ever back in the Wilmington area!A good thing to know, pointed out to me by the front desk staff, is there are no parking enforcement officers in the downtown on the weekends, so you can park on the street in front of the hotel or nearby for free and not worry about feeding the meters

Obviously don’t park in front of a fire hydrant or other areas where it’s an obvious “no parking” zone, but no need to worry about time limits on the street Garage parking for the hotel is $14 per day otherwise

Laura Muse McGuire

For the price, this hotel is a huge let down Front desk staff was incredibly unhelpful & unprofessional At check in, we were given no information about parking and had to come back to ask where to park and again to ask how to validate

The front desk staff that checked us out was on FaceTime and had AirPods in the whole timeOur bathroom was not clean Hairs in the shower and all over the bathroom floor The shower did not drain properly so you were standing in an inch of water within 3 minutes The rest of the room and the bed was clean The room had a weird smell thoughBreakfast was barely edible and the location was less than desirable There was broken wood with rusty nails sticking out right out front of the hotel entranceSave your money and stay somewhere else

Galina Frolova

We stayed in this hotel for a night and liked it so much that I booked the next night at the same hotel with points especially because the price in points was really good I asked for receipt after our stay but was told that it will be emailed to me Imagine my surprise when in a few days I see that somehow my reservation in points was cancelled and my credit card was charged instead!! I am titanium elite member and stayed in many marriott hotels before and it’s the first time it happened to me

I submitted a claim on the marriott website last week and nobody reached out to me which is frustrating to say the least

I hosted a celebration in the Gathering Room at the Inn at Swarthmore and the experience was perfect! Booking the space was seamless and my contact for organizing and booking, Melissa, was so helpful and responsive The space looked elegant when after set-up was complete, and the staff were amazing with everything from set-up to helping me find safety pins to secure my dress The staff even accommodated my last minute request for fresh mint and lemonade for cocktails and made sure the dessert display for my cake, cupcakes, and cookies was beautiful

The food was delicious (and there were so many options!) and plentiful The location was perfect for accommodating all of my guests because the regional rail is right next to the hotel and there is plenty of parking available I looked at 17 different venues before deciding on this one – this was by far the best value and a lot of the work was done for me I also appreciated that the estimate I received when looking around was so transparent – the fees and taxes were included so no unsavory surprises! The total bill came to the exact same as the estimate I cannot say enough good things about this experience – a true hidden gem!!! Thank you all for a truly wonderful time!

Nicole Rouleau

Absolutely loved this restaurant Its a hidden gem we never knew about! The drinks were amazing The food was so so good! Highly recommend the flatbreads and the buttermilk chicken sandwich! They hire servers that are new to serving which I think is outstanding

Giving people a chance to feel good about themselves and gain experience is wonderful Great serviceThey also have a wonderful weekend brunch – will be checking that out asap!

Everything about Whitewing was first rate Our room was attractive, well stocked and ideally located for social distancing and privacy The breakfast was exceptionally good

We skipped lunch on the days when we had breakfast Last, but not least, our hosts are great company It’s why people who always select B&Bs prefer them over hotels If you like meeting pleasant and interesting people, this is a place you shouldn’t miss Linda and I will be returning in May And no, this is not a paid endorsement

Tom Miller

We stayed 2 nights at Whitewing Farm and were treated like family by Lance and Sandy The welcome was warm and comforting On our first night we asked for the charcuterie board and were treated to an adventuresome creation of flavors, artfully displayed

It was better than any steak dinner The accommodations were very clean and comfortable Located in a beautiful setting, what’s not to love? We will be recommending Whitewing to all of our friends who want a true getaway

Marisa Gonzalez

Lance & Sandy both know just how to make their guests feel at home The moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and couldn’t wait to explore the gorgeous grounds We enjoyed a beautiful picnic prepared by Lance by the pond shortly after arriving, which was the perfect start to a lovely stay

The room was so cozy and breakfast in the morning was such a treat We truly can’t say enough good things about this place and the wonderful people who run it! Thank you for having us and we can’t wait to return

What a joy it was to spend our wedding weekend at Fairville Inn! We were lucky to rent out the entire inn for our family to be together, and the owners Xio and Willie were fantastic — gracious, accommodating, communicative, and warm and welcoming They stayed in touch with us in the months leading up to our wedding and helped us host meals for our large group – including setting up the food, tables, and tablescapes The rooms and indoor spaces are modern, tastefully decorated, inviting, clean, and calming, and the grounds–to include a pond, wide open green space, and gardens–are beautiful

The entire staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious–the best pancakes we’ve ever had! Everything felt personal and picturesque Would highly recommend Fairville as a getaway spot, and for others who want a wedding weekend to remember

Chris S

First time staying here The room was actually much bigger than I expected, for what I imagined would be an older, smaller building Large bathroom also

Very quiet and peaceful when we were there Very clean and classy decor Breakfasts were very good Friendly staff It’s also a great location very close to several attractions in the Brandywine Valley We would have no hesitations coming here again in the future

Heather Cognata

We had a reservation at last weekend But unfortunately received a phone call that our room was still under renovation and therefore we wouldn’t be able to stay there They searched the area forus and found another lovely bed and breakfast

When we arrived to the bed and breakfast to check in they informed us that our room was paid for Due to the inconvenience of our room not being available the new owners of the Inn paid for our room at the other bed and breakfast It was completely unnecessary but totally appreciated It was really a kind gesture and we were flattered to know that such lovely, caring owners have taken over the inn We wish them great success!

Front desk very accommodating Prompt in bringing whatever is needed in the room with room service not offered on a daily basis for first three days You can request servicing of the room 24 hours in advance

Adequate parking Great location for a meeting connecting to a convention center Food is good Handicap accessible rooms don’t all have walk in showers or even a shower with a low lip A tub with bars attached to the wall is not adequate

Chintan Patel

The service at this hotel was very friendly The morning manager who prepares breakfast everyday for the buffet is professional courteous and downright one of the nicest hotel managers around We came in from Brandon for a wedding this past week and we’re treated to the kindest service and a delicious breakfast every morning

Thanks for a wonderful stay we really enjoyed our stay

Sylvia Perry

It was ok good is to much and bad isn’t good enough The staff was fine the bed was comfortable but the shower floor was so dirty I wanted to wear shower shoes I made the mistake of trying to split my hotel bill on two cards and the girl completely messed it up

I ended up with pending charges of well over $300 on one card and nothing on the other (Wow) how she did that I’m not sure We had to call to for the error to be fixed We just wanted a one night getaway from our everyday life This place was not worth $230 dollars I did enjoy our dinner and a movie and just a chance to relax

I attended a Marriage Retreat during my stay here this past weekend (02/18-02/20) I understand that other guests will be there during this time However, this is one of the WORST experiences in my life

From kids running around in the halls and all times of the night, open beer and alcoholic beverages being left opened around kids from adults in the atrium, to broken elevator switches There was no security on the premises Only one clerk was there overnight during this weekend d The hotel manager NEVER showed up and there was a wedding there as well I mean this was utterly UNACCEPTABLE! How could you not have staffed this correctly? How could not even try to have a maintenance fixonf elevators when you were told that children have been playing with the buttons and causing disruptions Parents acted like they weren’t responsible for their children’s behavior That’s not the hotel’s fault but there needed to be some security or someone to maintain order Kids were knocking on my door at 2 and 3am, just for fun Being charged $370 for what? For this experience? Absolutely not! And on top of that, the hot water for the showers were almost nonexistent Felt like I was washing dishes while washing myself The marriage retreat was awesome The Hotel Experience, was absolutely horrible I strongly recommend you rethink making reservations here The staff tried their best but it was too much to overlook

shikera wilson

My family and I have loved going to this hotel for more than a decade, and we’ve all passed the love to our children It is a 👍🏾 place for the kids to swim and enjoy a nice free HOT breakfast, unlike that continental trash offered at other places They are clean and the staff is always professional and nice

I only took off a star because you now have to ask for all housekeeping services and literally beg for towels, which shouldn’t be for those who stay multiple nights

Darvon Bartholomew

Terrible stay The room was dirty white stains on the chair, desktop sticky Sheets dirty, urine in elevator

Kids with no shirts running all around the hotel,People take my word for it this was such a bad hotel We booked 3 rooms for two nights as we came for a family affair It was so bad I went to front desk to describe the condition of my room but the guy at the desk didn’t care He said no refunds He was very nasty never even looked up We took the loss and notified our credit card company we checked out and went to another hotel and we were able to sleep without feeling dirty This hotel could never get above 2 stars because it’s TERRIBLE

Such a hidden gem, when we needed a hotel to accommodate our family for a five-month stay it satisfied all our immediate needs Nice sleep, meals, fitness and great staff The suite is like an efficiency apartment with kitchen and living room combo

They have a beautiful lobby area with a fireplace and not to mention the business center to take care of any urgent business matters

Pixie Colbert

Reply to hotel response: yes This is the correct hotel They were directing people to park in the planet fitness lot about a block or two away or to park in the slashed lined areas, including the blue handicap spots

They didn’t have any response when we said we will not park in blue slashed areas that are designated for handicap folks to have space to accommodate physical needs while getting in and out of vehicles There also was no diamond member parking which, my guess is it wouldn’t have mattered anyway Initially though, yes probably one of my favorite homewood suites yetOriginal review:Clean nice hotel Breakfast was not good, no meats at all either Not enough parking – they were telling people to park on the handicap blue lines

Great customer service and the room was very comfortableThe food and cocktails were delicious A young lady that works in the restaurant created a drink(can’t remember the name of it) but you must try it! The restaurant staff were my favorite!I enjoyed my stay!

Convenient, clean, loads of amenities, suitable for weddings and other important events PeeWee Hockey going on when i was there Friendly staff at front desk and at breakfast

Dog friendly but higher than normal charge for dogs, and size is limited to under 75 which they do not tell you until you arrive Convenient dog potty area out back, but not able to reenter building at either of the two doors in that area, must walk around building Breakfast and coffee cost extra, though they are virtually the same as what you get for free at other hotel chains You do not have to bus your own table, though Super happy breakfast room attendants Plenty of uniformed staff around to answer questions and they were happy to do so

Beautiful venue Private and intimate setting No other weddings and no other people coming on and off grounds

We got married under their tree and started our ceremony and took pictures in their garden area then moved the party to their deck where our guests enjoyed the beautiful sunset while we took more pictures Yvonne the owner is fantastic at working with you and getting you organized before the big day Be sure to hire Caroline as your wedding planner because she helped us find vendors and set up our ceremony and the venue better than how I envisioned it Highly recommended!!

The room we stayed in was clean and tasteful – we especially appreciated the options to open windows or use space heaters, as April temps are unpredictable!Breakfast was delicious and Gilja, the innkeeper, was very accommodating of dietary needs!

I was very disappointed in our experience at the Kennett House Most disappointing was that the Longwood suite was advertised as having a king sized bed, when in fact it was two adjoining twin beds covered with two think layers of years old foam – this amounts to false advertising The foam was very spongey, hot and uncomfortable

The bathroom had 70/80s era vanity and toilet that were very short, seemingly sized for children The building overall is in need of repair and upgrading, and the amenities need to be modernized for contemporary tastes and conveniences I believe this could be accomplished while retaining the historical charm On a positive note, I love its proximity to downtown Kennett Square

Kennett House was beautiful…we felt so comfortable in this beautiful 100+ year old homeGilja, the owner, was an absolute delight and her breakfast was very very goodThank you Gilja for a wonderful stay

We would definitely stay there again

I had higher hopes for this hotel It is in a convenient location, and the hotel itself is very unique However, I had some personal items of mine that were thrown away by housekeeping

When I brought it up to the hotel, the just didn’t seem to care This was very frustrating because these items were never recovered to me Additionally, I had a roach in my room during my stay I unfortunately do not plan to stay here again

THEY HAVE BED BUGS!!! My boyfriend surprised me for me birthday with a 2 day getaway at this hotel The room we stayed in was called the Ashton, our stay was from Sunday, May 15th until Sunday May 17th We didn’t even stay for the whole second night, because I was bitten by a BED BUG

I took a shower and laid on the coach that was in our room, I immediately was irritated and scratching my legs My boyfriend checked my body and removed the cushions from the couch and there was a BROWN BED BUG We took pictures of the BED BUG and my bitten up legs, we left the room immediately and took our clothes and another shower We had to sleep in our car for the remainder of our stay I am now breaking out because of these BED BUG bites We stayed in our car from 1 am until 7 am, we spoke with Ann at the front desk, who claimed she never seen a BED BUG BEFORE and told us we wouldn’t be compensated for our second night a least The hotel will not give us any money back!!! She informed us that she would speak with the owner, and we weren’t able to speak with the owner Ann stated that she will contact the exterminator and proceed that way She called us back by noon and stated that the hotel will not drop the pending transaction My boyfriend is losing his 611 dollars for a BED BUG INFESTED HOTEL Do not stay here !! It’s disgusting, they’re not properly cleaning up I have no reason to lie, I’m having anxiety from this No one seems to care at this hotel about the horrific night we had today It’s terrible I will never stay here again

Sleep quality and comfort was perfectionThe staff we encountered was very welcoming and warm I would absolutely return here if I were ever in the area again

This place gets the job done but if they want to go to the next level, they should improve the amenities and facility #1 improve the breakfast experience as far offering hot and fresh food options If there is no kitchen on-site consider building one and outsourcing its operation

#2 You must provide a way for guests to park their car and enter the hotel without going back outside However, the staff is excellent, kind, courtesy and helpful They are doing the best they can with cards that they have been dealt I recommend staying here but lower your expectations as far as amenities $$

Nice downtown location Great if you need to use the nearby hospital Some delicious restaurants nearby

The hotel needs to take a little more care of their customers They need to space out young families and those who are not traveling with small children This hotel does not have great insulation between rooms so they do need to think thru tWhere they place there guest for a guite nights sleep

Vasileios Tsiropoulos

A bit pricey compared to competitors, if you take into account the additional costs (parking, water bottle charges, no breakfast) Also it is not located in the best part of the city Next time, I will try another hotel in the town

The staff was extremely friendly and the room was clean and modern

Staff at the front desk was nice and accommodating Location is great The room was dirty

It looked as though the room had not been vacuumed or really cleaned They did give us fresh sheets though Well, on one of the beds The other one was missing sheets when we got into bed and no one was answering the phone at the front desk No shampoo orconditioner in the room (when we called, they didn’t have any so we were given a partial bottle from another room) The AC in the living area had to be serviced and the plugs in the bathroom didn’t work Parking is also sub par Not enough spots for the number of guests Overall, we probably won’t stay here again I can’t imagine what it will look like in a few years with the lack of cleaning!

When I arrived to my room, it had a strong smell of weed I requested to be moved to another room which was fine but the sheets on the bed in the room were not clean and they only had 1 set of towels I the room After requesting more towels in the morning, they didn’t have any available

We didn’t get towels until that night I have seen much better breakfasts at other hotels as well I expected significantly more from my stay Wouldn’t stay again

Being someone who rarely posts negative reviews, I felt very much compelled to give my candid feedback on my experience during the check-in at this hotelWe arrived on Memorial Day morning and was appalled by the rude and impatient receptionist at the front desk The young lady was visibly displeased that she had to cut short her break and attended to us at front desk

She declined to check us in by telling us that my credit card used for reservation, which was already paid in full, was denied by her system to serve as incidental charge card She refused to take another card I proffered and made me call the booking agency I used and resolve the mix-up, which I didn’t quite understand the whole time, by myselfShe made no attempt to display any professional courtesy to make us feel welcomed at all She almost willed that with her horrible attitude we would turn around, walk away and leave her aloneI feel obliged to highlight the incident and the individual since such an occurrence and employee do not belong to the highly regarded Hilton franchise and the hospitality industry in generalThe one star review applies squarely to the above referenced individual Having said that, as a receptionist at front desk she represented the hotel more than anybody else Her behavior and attitude unfortunately reflected very poorly on the establishment she’s supposed to represent
