We really enjoyed our stay at this property It was my first time staying at a Courtyard The hotel was very quiet and exceptionally clean

We were granted an early check-in which we requested when we booked the reservation Housekeeping comes every other day as stated in the confirmation email prior to checking in We needed additional bath linens and housekeeping was quick to bring them to us They all seemed to be working very hard and were friendlyThe website photos of the king room are accurate so I didn’t bother taking any to add to the reviewThe room has lots of outlets in very convenient locations and I was able to do my hair in front of the mirrored closet door while my husband showeredThe pool is a bit small and can get crowded on the weekends but it was very pleasant when I used it on MondayThe buffet breakfast is very good The guys that run the bistro friendly and helpfulThe hotel is the quietest one I’ve ever stayed at and the air conditioner helps with white noise If you set it low enough it will run all night It doesn’t cycle on and off every 3 minutes like some do at other hotels I slept better than I do at home The bed is super comfortable Because of this, I will try to book at Courtyard properties in the futureThe balcony doors are cloudy as stated in other reviews and this doesn’t make for the best view from inside the room Salt air is hard on things so it may be etching from that or maybe the seal failed but the door worked fine and we enjoyed the balconyEach room has a fridge and there is a microwave and ice machine on each floorThe hotel is located right on the boardwalk but it really wasn’t noisy The music stops about 10pm and it didn’t bother us There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance so once we parked upon arrival, we didn’t use the car again until we leftIf you are looking for a great place to stay at Carolina Beach, this is it

This Marriott has all beach view rooms where you can lay in bed & see the ocean from your room or go out on the balcony for even better views🌊 Not the newest or most updated Marriott we’ve been to but the cleanliness, service & dining options made up for it😘 At check-in, we got fantastic recommendations for dining in the area & had a pleasant stay Parking was easy & the hotel is within walking distance to everything you could want to enhance your beach vacation⛱️ The pool looked fun but we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it this time🏊 We look forward to staying here again!

Giving two stars for the polite employees and location!! The room was not ready when we arrived @4 for check in Waited till 5 still not ready! We had dinner plans with friends so just left and would check in later!! The restroom in lobby was very dirty, thinking they were busy cleaning the rooms so gave them the benefit of the doubt! Well they definitely didn’t clean the room we had!! The shower drain was full of hair, the coffee table had so much dust on the bottom legs that there is No way that thing has been wiped in a month and food crumbs all over the floor! Mentioned it to the gentleman at check out and all he could say was well did you call down! Well at 10 at night when we finally returned to check in I just wanted to sleep after traveling all day! Maybe if the room was ready @ check in time I would have done that! Sorry just clean the rooms! Definitely not up to Marriott standards

I can’t speak on the average night stay, however we recently had our wedding there and if I could scream it to any bride considering having their event there I would beg her to turn around and run From the beginning after the contract was signed it was nearly impossible to get responses from our event Coordinator, and if we had multiple questions after a week we may get one response and still have to follow up with the other questions Trying to schedule our detail appointment took almost a month of back and forth and having to reschedule because of all the lack of communication

We did an all inclusive package but I immediately regretted not being able to outsource services as I got about the same response from the florist included Although my flowers turned out beautiful they were nothing like I had asked for or shown The signage was also wrong the day of, and my mother in law tried to have it corrected but was told nothing could be changed without the sales coordinator who wasn’t in yet, so the signs stayed incorrect which led to guests entering late on the ceremony The day of the wedding my event coordinator didn’t contact me all day to where an hour before the wedding I had to reach out to her to ask her what the plan was and in the end I missed my entrance due to being left in a separate room and ended up having to run to my entrance late, fluster disheveled Not a single decent picture was taken of me walking down the isle She left maybe 30 minutes into the reception, where we had to constantly ask the kitchen staff for assistance with anything I will say the food was amazing and the kitchen staff was so friendly and accommodating to help us the rest of the evening so they’re really the only reason I didn’t give a one star The baker that was used was also wonderful, the cake was exactly what we talked about and the communication was quick and professional All in all the venue is beautiful and the food is amazing, but do not hold an event there!

Honestly a steal for the price based on the hospitality alone Stephanie was a great host and within 10 minutes of being there we already knew where to go and what to see The location is awesome, and since they provide a parking pass you can just park in the street and walk most places without any worries

If I had to come up with one gripe about this place it would be two small things First, their room key system is outdated so don’t expect any mobile keys if you’re a techie like me Second, if you go outside on the patio area outside of the pool, you’re locked out and have to walk around That’s been like that for a little while now

Terrible experience I was not allowed to use my Wyndham credit card at this location because I had not yet received it in the mail and the front desk would not allow me to check in without the card present I booked a very nice King suite and drove to town to find out I could not stay there

After spending nearly an hour on the phone with 10 different departments, including Barclay, I was told it should not be an issue but was still refused – assuming because they are afraid of a charge back? I felt like the front desk sized me up and made a call about me based on appearance I was so ready to drop $400 on a very nice room for myself I could have used my debit card but refused out of principle that they were turning me away from using their own brand’s card I chose to cancel my reservation and stay in a dodgy part of town at a much cheaper Wyndham I feel like the gentleman at the front desk understood my frustration but his GM would not budge I will be incredibly upset if they charge me for the first night since I cancelled after the check in time considering there was nothing in the reservation information stating I could not use my Wyndham card if it was not present Further – when my card DOES come in the mail, I will absolutely refuse to stay at this location I planned to stay here in September with my family for a week but I know these hotels are privately owned and I am so upset at being turned away after getting all the way here; I can’t in good conscience give them my money

Hotel was conveniently located about 10 min from downtown and 10 min from the beach Room was reasonably priced and clean It even was big enough for a couch which was nice

Wish there were 2 nightstands by the king bed Breakfast wasn’t much to write home about The pool was also closed and we didn’t know this, so that was a little annoying, but overall we had a good stay!

Okay, that’s fine The breakfast was bare minimum The fruit was over picked and old They only had sausage biscuits and egg biscuits and some cereal My husband and I were staying with two small children I asked to have our trash cans emptied (there are only two very small trash cans in the room) The front desk attendant proceeded to tell me we had to change out our own trash-I looked at her like she was crazy Only after I disagreed did she say she would let the staff know Smh Again-overall cleanliness was great But the breakfast, room cleaning, and customer service left a lot to be desired

This is a very nice hotel I took my kids here for a little family trip The breakfast was good and the staff was very nice

However, there was one man staying there on business while we were there and he was always making rude comments to people including the staff He even started saying inappropriate things to me and at one point said something inappropriate while my daughter was standing right beside me It took everything in me not to curse him out Anyway, when I told the front desk about him they new exactly who I was talking about and seemed apologetic, but didn’t offer anything to say “Hey, we are sorry you had to experience that” So I am a little disappointed in the way that was handled I spent almost $700 for those 4 days and had to deal with that man a few different occasions Other than that, my kids and I loved the hotel and loved the staff But that situation should have been handled a lot better

The hotel and the location was great Near everything we wanted to go The receptionist upon our first arrival was not welcoming at all

As soon as I walked in and told her I was checking in she made an unpleasant face and said no rooms are ready come back at 3, mind you it was 2:40 She never bothered to even check for a room It left me with an unwelcoming feeling She did not leave a good first impression of the hotel When we returned we were so thankful that someone else was at the front desk

This is quite possibly the nicest Hampton Inn I’ve stayed in We were told they did some renovations during the pandemic closure, and it shows They added in a bar with reasonable prices, and the furniture and look of the lobby was updated and clean

They also had a “treats” section where you could purchase extra snacks if you needed them They even offered us bottled water when we came in The free breakfast had a lot of options, but it was a bummer that they had turkey sausage rather than regular pork Our room was spacious, the bed was comfy, and everything was clean All the staff we encountered were kind and personable as well, and we are so glad we chose to stay here Very positive experience and priced well

Rooms and public areas were spotless and the renovations are beautiful I stayed In a corner suite during a time of roof construction and had no problems Basic free continental breakfast but the kitchen staff made me feel like I was at home

I will definitely stay again Please use these ladies to train others because hospitality matters especially when people have options

The hotel was really clean and reasonably priced It was a great alternative option as the other hotels in the area that were oceanfront were all booked up Be aware that the hotel is pet friendly but people are sometimes placed in non-pet rooms with their animals

The 12 week old puppy next door to us barked constantly but the management was very kind and did their best to reach the owners to ensure the entire floor slept at night The noise from the dog was not the hotels fault Pet owners should not leave their animals unattended for long periods of time The staff handled the issue in a prompt and understanding manner

Never again It was not worth my time and money I stayed at the Hampton Inn catty corner to the Courtyard and I will return there and not here

I honestly wish a refund was possible but I doubt that’s something they will doEverything was sub par Showers were disgusting There was dust on the furniture and desks The sheets had stains There was like only two large bathroom towels The ceiling had water damage and what appeared to maybe be mold? The worst hotel experience my husband and I have ever had and we travel quite a bit Hair that wasn’t ours on the bathroom floor when we arrived to our “clean” room Requested soap twice and never received it

They were out of clean towels when we needed some on the third day of our stay We requested our room be serviced twice and continued to return to an unserviced room Finally after the last request (on day 4), housekeeping barged into our room without knocking We asked her to leave three times and rather than honoring our request, she continued to point fingers at the front desk and her colleagues for their poor service Never apologized My husband went to share this with the front desk and she was complaining very loudly about our interaction in the main lobby to her colleagues The front desk attendant also pointed fingers at her colleagues Finally gave my husband her manager’s name My husband called the manager and left a voicemail He called back immediately and then hung up Have not heard from them since We booked another hotel room for our last night in Wilmington because it was such a horrible experience Do not stay here

What a fantastic hotel! I’m a lifetime elite member, but I never assume anything, and rarely ask for anything extra To my complete surprise, we got an upgrade without even asking, fantastic service, and the rooftop tapas bar was fantastic The front desk associates were so helpful every time we had a question, the parking was easy (we chose self-parking), and the location was highly walkable

I stay in Aloft hotels any time I can They are usually a great way to make sure you are in the heart of a city and in walking distance to everything This one is super cute and was made into old mill buildings

Near the water and adorable, with a great outdoor space No pool in this one, and the parking is a little challenging I think my issue here is that the staff are not overly accommodating, where previous Aloft stays they seemed to bend over backwards The valets were the only friendly part, staff wise Great breakfast Comfortable beds

Dreamers Welcome was a DREAM COME TRUE!! Owners Anna & Ross went above and beyond for our group that was staying in downtown Wilmington We were there for a commercial photoshoot on their property for a women’s fashion brand They clearly communicated with me leading up to our stay

Their staff that was there on arrival was incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming Anna & Ross even made sure their landscapers came by to freshen up the grounds before we started photography outside! Breakfast was delicious, and we arranged a catered lunch with their private chef who accommodated all of our needs and diets! The mocha brownies were talked about for days after by our group!! I stayed at The Hampton Inn in Wilmington for the Easter weekend with my family (family of four) The location seemed to be safe and very close to different restaurants, a Target, a coffee shop and home depot We were able to get adjoining rooms with no issue

The hot breakfast had a good selection (waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, muffins, fruit, and juice) The pool is an outdoor pool and is only open from 10am -10pm but the beach is only minutes away The rooms were clean and spacious The internet was fine for checking emails and watching videos on YouTube The showers had good water pressure I would definitely stay here again

I travel frequently for work and use Marriott hotels exclusively I took a chance staying here as the usual Marriott brand hotel I book in town had incredibly high rates due to the season and I was attempting to be mindful of my corporate budget This hotel is in need of some serious TLC

Checking in was fast and easy however the room was far from clean Upon entering there was hair in the bathroom, no soap, and even a contact lense on the nightstand table The couch was also visibly dirty Thankfully I always bring my own sheets and pillow when I travel I felt incredibly icky staying there (thankfully it was just one night!) and will not be returning Do better, Marriott

Let me start by saying I wish I could give this hotel 10 stars for service – they went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional! We drive a semi-truck, which they were extremely helpful in assisting us with parking They let us check-in 6 hours early and even though our room wasn’t ready, allowed us access to everything at the “resort” while we waited The bell staff were by far the best I’ve ever experienced

They were very friendly, offered helpful suggestions, and went out of their way to make our stay perfect The shuttle driver even took us to a shopping center outside their normal area because he “really wasn’t that busy” 😊 The restaurant, bar and coffee shop all had delicious food/drinks with friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating servers The hotel has a beautiful view of the ocean on one side and the city on the other There is a gorgeous pool area, spacious deck, and direct beach access They offer chairs and umbrellas for rent to use on the beach, and lounge chairs and hammocks for free use on the property The room was clean, comfortable, and modern with a private balcony They also have laundry services, covered parking, outdoor dining, and an event counter This is probably the best stay I have EVER experienced!! Well worth every penny!!

Attended the North Carolina manufactured homes association annual convention located on site As many post have noted the construction going on But looking forward the resort Is really going to be a beautiful place Just noticing some of the work going on they seem to have some very talented contractor and designers

I would suggest call ahead and question how the construction might affect your stay My stay was all business had a good nights rest the room was clean and all new And the staff was top notch

We were super excited to visit this resort due to the amenities listed on the website and paid substantially more than usual for lodging for the upgraded experience However, none of the amenities we were expecting were available due to contruction I know renovations are sometimes needed but it would have been better received if someone had notified us prior to our stay of what to expect as I assure you the price was not adjusted to compensate for the experience

Neither restaurant or the bar on the premises was open The indoor pool and one of two hot tubs were closed the entire stay The outdoor pool was closed part of the stay We were awoken each morning to the sound of a saw cutting floor tiles outside our balcony We were unsure of why “pool closed” signs were around the outdoor pool the entire stay even when the staff would say it was open Then we noted the power tools plugged into extension cords surrounding the pool area where kids are playing and swimming I guess the signs are to protect the facility from litigation should someone get hurt or electrocuted The bed was comfortable and the room clean but that’s where the pros end If the the management is truly sorry as indicated in these other reviewer responses, why not make sure your customers are made aware of the ongoing construction instead of just taking their money

She explained what made their hotel special They provided a great breakfast, food was hot What really caught my attention wad the fact that they have a social Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5-7pm This included beer and wine for their guest The hotel was really clean and the staff provided the same excellent services taking their lead from Michelle Jennifer at the front desk, Leon the chef and the many other hats he wears was friendly and made the guest feel really at home I also cant leave out Mr K Who assist me with my luggage

This hotel is fantastic The rooms are clean and modern We booked a 2 room suite, and it had a full sized refrigerator, 2 burner stovetop, dishwasher, pots, pans, glasses, utensils, etc

Anything you could need during your stay Each bedroom had it’s own bathroom and sink Next time we come to Wilmington, we will definitely be staying here

We had the best front desk service at this hotel! The Friday night we checked in they told us of great places to eat and they took care of all our needs By the way the halls always smelled so good!Cleaning staff please clean entire room, someone left cups in the back of the bed You would know that had you cleaned the room thoroughly

The details …Our room was immaculate The cleaning staff clearly takes pride in their work And the property surely invest in staying current Before I walk into a hotel room, I always hold my breath and hope it’s is clean enough for my standards and it was! My 12-year-old daughter even commented that it had a fresh and clean scent—nothing overpowering thoughWe asked for late checkout at the last minute and received it with no hesitationThe hot breakfast got the job done but was nothing that great My family mostly stuck to the pancakes from the machine, the dried cereal, and the sausage They were out of bananas—we came about an hour before closing The staff in the kitchen worked very hard to keep everything runningWe would definitely stay here again My only suggestion is the thermostat setting only went down to 74 degrees It was 100 degrees outside and so it never quite chilled to a temperature we all found perfect for sleeping We all woke up every night because it was too hot But during the day it felt ice cold! Not sure what was going on there

Upon checking in, I was impressed Nigel is the most positive employee that I’ve seen in a long time It has become very difficult to find such hospitable people these days

His smile, his welcoming spirit, his awareness of urgency, his grace, his overall mannerisms Is what lead me to even write a reviewI normally stay at the Hilton Hotels But I’m on a business trip However, Nigel’s hospitals, may have changed my preferenceHe is beyond awesome and if I lived around here, I’d poach him to work with me His customer service has blown me away! Personally, I’d make him a manager, and/or give him a raise!Like I mentioned numerous times, hospitality like that is rare these days, I pray the company sees the value in him as I doThe rooms were clean, and had a neat little lounge chair Also, the dove products in the shower over the usual genetic products was a major plus
