This hotel is one of the best I have been to in a long time I have traveled to a lot of different places and stayed in my share of hotels, but this one tops them all! The night clerk is very friendly and an all around good guy A bit pricey but you get what you pay for

The room was clean and decent sized, would be perfect for someone on a business trip or someone from out of town visiting lake Michigan Definitely recommend this place if you need a hotel for the weekend or longer

Recently I stayed at this Hyatt Place for two consecutive nights Upon arrival the check-in took some time, as the receptionist had some issue with the guest right in front of me Finally in the room I noticed soon, that in the bathroom not everything was working properly

After flushing the toilet it made strange noises And the rack with towels on it was hanging loose But for two nights this was ok for me more or less One thing I didn’t like at all was, that housekeeping did not respect the do-not-disturb-sign outside the room! After the first night they knocked and immediately opened the door! After the second they knocked again, but at least waited for me to open the door Why do the have these signs, when everybody disregards them? Breakfast was ok so far Nevertheless this Hyatt property is below Hyatt standard only in my opinion At the moment I don’t know if I would return

BEWARE! This hotel will steal from you! I stayed here at the beginning of January and when I checked my credit card statement a few weeks later, there was an additional $750 charged to my card When I contacted the hotel, they claimed that I broke the television in the room and they billed me for property damage For the record, I did not break anything in that room! I am a business traveler who has stayed in this hotel before

What’s more is that they didn’t even call or email me to discuss the situation They simply charged my card, stole $750 from me, and then told me to take a hike when I complained about it I am currently disputing the charge with my credit card company, and if need be, will be taking this to smalls claims courtI travel for work all the time and I have never encountered a situation like this before They have lost my business, they have lost the business of any of my employees who travel there for work, they have lost the business of all of my friends and family, and the local company that I am working with that recommended I stay here is no longer going to send any of their customers who come to visit them to this hotel Unless you want to be accused of something you didn’t do, have money stolen from you, and have the biggest headache of your life trying to clear your good name, I highly recommend you find another hotel to stay at***UPDATE***I won! It took more than 3 months to get my name cleared, but I was finally able to get the hotel’s bank to acknowledge that I did not do anything wrong and refund my money! This place will try to scam you STAY AWAY!

Stay at Home2 regularly with work travel They are doing a great job here Room is clean, bed very comfortable and plenty of toiletry supplies

Breakfast is better than the last couple I have stayed at and coffee is always ready Parking lot cleared of snow and walks treated for ice, so customer safety is obviously important Would recommend for your stay Was here for 4 nights

The good-Most everything This hotel was very comfortable and quiet The beds were super soft and the sheets were silky

The rooms are very large and have a kitchenette Full sized fridge, sink, and dishwasher Dishes are provided for your use There was a TON of counter space We had two queen beds and a pull out couch The fitness center was pristine clean Good sized pool 55 feet Hot tub was nice and warm with jets I slept the best at this hotel out of any that I have stayed at You can’t here the highway at all Breakfast is free It was okay Omelettes and breakfast sandwiches were made ahead of time and kept in a warm box They had cereal, waffles, yogurt, fruit, juice, and toastThe bad- Fire alarm went off at 7am for unknown reasons It was very disorienting and irritating By time we were dressed it was off I did not have a hot shower the whole time I was there Water was warm at best Air conditioning was very loud We turned it off over night Housekeeping staff (girl with blonde ponytail) was very rude to my son when he went into the fitness center to grab a key I had left on the treadmill ( I was standing in the doorway He was not unattended) He didn’t say what she said but he was in tears

Philly Philly

I’m a Diamond member with Hilton and travel virtually every single week and always stay in Hilton properties This one was pretty disappointing One of the elevators was broken

Equipment in the fitness center is broken Since the elevators were taking a long time I decided to take the stairs and it smelled like something died in there No matter what my status has been with Hilton I had never been charged for the cheap bottles of water before The good ones yes but not the cheap ones and I was charged for 2 of them on this trip Not a big deal just the principle The room was fine with the exception that the dispensers in the shower were empty but everything else was exactly why I choose Hilton properties

My room was as expected, clean and comfortable However, the purpose of leaving this review is to shout out the absolutely amazing front desk staff My service at check in was great, but Gil and Melissa went above and beyond for me

I needed assistance at almost midnight with printing documents and they did not hesitate to help me with my odd request Was much appreciated!!! Thanks guys 🙂

Darren Walezak

Great views on the riverside and the room was very nice The front desk team was very accommodating Nothing to complain about but if there are certain amenities you want to use the day you check in confirm in advance if they’re working

Staff was light so they had to have shorter hours so I couldn’t use some Not a deal breaker for me but I can see how for some it could frustrate

Melissa Bedell

My boyfriend and I stayed here to attend an event at Devos and it was nice to be able to walk inside to get there and not need to bring jackets or drive/park The Lumber Baron Bar on the first floor is one of our GR favorites, even though this was our first time staying in the hotel we come often for the great drink menu and atmosphere The front desk staff was kind and welcoming and got us checked in right away

We parked in the parking structure, which turns out was free and that was a nice surprise It was disappointing that our shower was not clean, (there was a bunch of hair on the walls!?) otherwise the room was fine The bed was very comfy and we were given the option for a room on a higher floor which had a partial view of the river If we had stayed more than one night, not having a fridge would have been a bummer, but we were just there for the event and didn’t want to drive after so that wasn’t a big deal this time I would stay again for the convenience for sure

Robyn Nickole

Even though the hotel is more like air b&b on check in I found it quite easy to get in & find my room It was very clean for a dog friendly hotel The dogs were very cute and the room had dog bowls and dog friendly furniture

My room had a washer and dryer in the room which was very nice Full kitchen stocked with cooking pans coffee and good quality coffee If I travel back I will make sure that I stay there! The design was really cool, the view was excellent I asked for a high level floor and I received it I was so happy about that I wish I had stayed there longer was my only regret

Amy Houston

We loved the location, the amenities, ease of check in and especially that you were dog friendly! We were able to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to (it was v cold, so a few places we took an uber) Most dog friendly hotels just let you bring your dog The Morton, they WELCOME your pup! From the treats in the lobby, to the canine decor in our room, to the bowls and dog bed in the room we felt very comfortable and welcomed

The kitchen was amazing and had everything we needed to make breakfast every morning (except paper towels) The property was spotless and super secure I can’t say enough great things We will definitely be back!!

Angie Sanchez

This apartment style hotel was a new experience for me, so I had no expectations or previous experience to compare to Ethan, the hotel manager was outstanding from a customer service standpoint Checking in was a tad challenging but that’s because I don’t fully read emails (check in instructions are detailed within the body of an email and I missed those details because I didn’t read the entire message)

Ethan sent me the instructions over messaging anyway, and after that check in was smooth The key fobs are so much better than traditional hotel keys! While we did not bring our pup this time, I appreciate the dog friendliness of the property The Morton is going to be my go-to place to stay when we visit the GR area from now on, mostly due to my experiences with Ethan!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay here for my birthday The staff was incredibly friendly and professional I would like to commend Drew especially for going above and beyond with our accommodations

The whole hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed a dinner in Margaux’s outdoor igloos which was cozy and fun, as well as the delicious breakfast buffet inside the restaurant The omelette chef was amazing and greeted us each morning as well Would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area and not to mention it is within walking distance of all the best spots in town

Natalie Bell

The lobby is so awkward in when you check in

it is pretty shabby if you look closely around especially the ceiling Also in the rooms the windows were filthy and smelled very foul My room smelled different bad than my mom’s adjoining room which was odd The rooms are nice though esp the bathroom configuration We also had a very helpful bellhop and the man who checked us in was also very good They do need to let guests know the elevator takes a keyand the railing at the elevator bank needs to be higher seems so low for being 9 stories upI slept really well here which is priceless The luncheon buffet was good, and the evening bartender really went the extra mile and was very attentive Breakfast was also good but a tad $$$ $50 for two meals and 2 coffees Good brewed house coffee

Courtney Guthrie

The staff was very professional and kind Shout out to the front desk guy who checked us in last night – he was a manifestation of an amazing front desk associateThe place appeared very well cleaned

Our room was beautiful I very much enjoyed staying here Plus the Starbucks is a bonus 😎🥰

We really enjoyed our stay here Great location Walkable to a lot of interesting sites: The staff was really nice

Karen, at the front desk, was so kind and spoiled us Because of our flight times, she even let us check in a little early and check out a bit later We offered to pay more but she said it was fine It pays to be nice She was so accommodating We loved visiting Grand Rapids and would like a repeat visit here

Harry Kourlos

Just wanted to give a shout-out to Amanda at the front desk Very nice and delightful that there are really good-hearted people like her She is very understanding and cares about her guests

I think if more professionals adapted her attitude and work ethic, the business revenue would go up at least 33% It is very important to treat the guest right and to go above and beyond expectations, and she truly did The customer service is A-1 and you will not regret your stay

Sven Tietz

Delivers exactly what you expect of a Courtyard brand: neat, clean, efficient, friendly, well priced Rooms were clean and generous enoughHad no issues with noise, parking or difficulty getting there like other reviewers – was easy and straightforward

Not a 5 star hotel by any means but deserves a 5 star rating for delivering what it promises on the tin

Melissa Baroni

We needed an overnight stay ahead of a competition at Grandville High School, so I was happy to find this Hilton hotel right behind the campus The hotel and our room were impeccably clean, and the breakfast had a great variety of foods to choose from The only issues we ran into were our digital key in the Hilton app did not work upon arrival, the parking lot was plowed poorly so there were many unusable spaces, and our sliding bathroom door was very hard to move

Other than those small issues, we had a good stay and would not hesitate to return for our next trip to the area Finally, the location is fantastic with easy access from the freeway and plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, including a Costco with gas station a short drive down the same street

Patrick Brannan

Although finding the entrance was a little tricky, we full enjoyed our stay We were in town for an event at Grandville High School, and this property is very conveniently located, with an access drive to the school located adjacent to the property Everything inside and outside the property was very well maintained

Our first floor room was perfect for our family as it allowed space to spread out and relax and the wet bar provided area for snacks and drinks The pool area was a favorite of our kids Although there were no pool towels when we arrived, the desk staff immediately found towels for us to use The morning breakfast bar and coffee area were well stocked and maintained by the friendly staff My kids enjoyed the available hot chocolate as a pre bedtime treat My wife and I both comment on how comfortable the bed and associated linens were They were neither too hot and heavy nor to light and cool This is an excellent facility

Corey Curtiss

Matthew the General Manager was stellar The ideal example of customer service, compassion, and consideration When unforeseen circumstances arose, he ensured I was taken care of lighting fast before I even had to ask

Exceeded my expectations This is where I will always stay when I’m in the area Great leader, great staff, great property Highly recommend

Chloe Callender

The owners of the establishment met us when we arrived and gave us a guided tour of the building They had multiple brochures available highlighting food, venues, and attractions in the area The kitchen service was splendid! The owners made us breakfast and even catered to our dietary needs (I am lactose intolerant & my friend is gluten free)

The guests and owners were all so friendly and kind The garden was beautifully maintained and was an excellent place to relax! I would love to return!

Nicolette Baier

After our visit at Leonard at Logan House, it is the ONLY place in which my husband and I will stay when we visit GR in the future We stayed in the luxurious Grand Duke room with beautiful decor, comfortable king size bed, and heated bathroom tiles We would have been perfectly happy staying in our room for our entire visit if not for the smell of Ruth’s masterful cooking and baking luring us out of the room

We awoke each morning to a full, homemade breakfast with classics like bacon, potatoes, and omelets and new surprises such as caramelized apple pancake balls and fruit tarts Kind and professional owners and staff made us feel comfortable and right at home We cannot wait to return in the near future!

Emily Beanblossom

Absolutely lovely! Ruth and Ken were wonderful hosts and the house is just beautiful Check in was quick and simple, followed by a short tour of the common areas My room was really clean, really charming, and quiet

There was a handy guide to local Grand Rapids businesses in the room as well It’s walking distance to nice local restaurants and shops, and the neighborhood is a beautiful historic district Breakfast was delicious – I was so impressed by the homemade spinach and cheese soufflés! The attention to detail and the level of care was apparent in all the little extra touches It was a restorative and restful stay I didn’t want to leave! I will 100% stay here again

I staid here for two nights as a part of a work trip Not having enough time to contact the hotel, I arrived pretty late for my check-in after a long road trip However, I was greeted with ease and convenience

The guest service manager, Amber, was very helpful and welcoming She insured that I would have a nice and comfortable arrival after my trip Shaun, the server and clerk, was nothing short of a great personality His positive attitude and tentative service made a simple breakfast meal feel like a warmly prepared home mealI would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my family and friends

Elle Zamarron

My husband and I made a spur of the moment decision to take a little staycation a few hours from home We booked this hotel for mainly the pool/hot tub for our two sons (2&3) but the whole hotel was immaculate! The pool and hot tub were great, the pool was so warm and very clean! My boys did not want to leave! We will definitely be back!

We had a very nice stay here The breakfast was supurb The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly

I will say our check-in was delayed for 2 hours due to staffing issues Might I suggest calling people if their check in will be later than it is posted online? Or at the very least offer some sort of benefit I know it’s tough for staffing everywhere, so still a 5 star stay

Michelle Whisler

We were overcharged each of the 3 nights we stayed at the hotel Every night a new transaction hit our bank account, even after they took all the money for the hotel stay upfront Ended up ruining our son’s birthday

We were told they would comp us 2 nights and never did Our TV and alarm clock didn’t work and there wasn’t a remote for one of the other TVs, so could only use 1 of the 3 TVs in our room The GM and most workers were rude The lady cleaning the tables for breakfast decided to spray the table my husband was sitting at and got the spray in his food The breakfast was a joke and most of the food was burnt or dried out after being out for so long Would never recommend staying there They made our family vacation the worst ever

Alan Gradolph

MG, the French gentlemen running the counter, was great Super kind and friendly the whole time we were there He let us cancel our second night without penalty, gave us weather info, told us about things to do in the area, and got our door handle fixed because it wasn’t catching right

The facilities are a little tired, but the room was huge (2BR suite) and worked great for our family of 4 We’ll be back!

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars all around

Here are the reasons why I didn’t First, the hotel is in a perfect location You don’t get the river view, but otherwise you are central to everything downtown The rooms are quiet, except from outside noise (from the windows), you definitely have city sounds that creep into the living space all night long But if you have a 1 room suite, shut the bedroom door and you get total silence But my major dissatisfaction came from 1) the website said there was evening drinks/appetizers offered Sun-Thur but when we checked in were told it was only light appetizers on Wed evening Second, breakfast kind of sucked They were out of one or more items each morning (No cream for coffee, no potatoes to go with the eggs, no fresh fruit, it really changed daily) They kept saying they were waiting on a truck, but I really think they just were not ordering correctly as this was the fourth Hilton property we’ve stayed in over the last two weeks and no other property had this issue, including the one I’m at now writing this reviewI do want to give a special shout-out to Prentice He was extremely helpful and friendly If anyone deserves a raise, it’s that guy for sure Thanks for making our stay better

c “!1:1!” edrington

Big comfort rooms, mini kitchen, tableware on shelfGreat breakfast in the morningStaff at desk friendly and courtious

A bar on main floor and roof top with selected hours The waitress really great; smile at greeting, checks on you if additional order wantedPool lower level of hotelSecurity nice: room key required entering from outside sidewalk (after7pm), and to rooms 3-6 and roof top loungeFamily stay or business; it’s a nice getaway, hope to return

Awesome location in a historic building in Grand Rapids Close to everything that can walk just about anywhere in the city which is great The staff was okay as had to see front desk people three times to get a key to work for the in and out for garage

The garage is a little pricey compared to rest of garages in area, but hotel does provide in and out access which is nice Room was perfect for my wife and I with our toddler as he had a bed in the living room area and we had our private bedroom We could cook which was nice, but biggest positive was having a full size fridge after visiting the Fulton Street Farmers Market and the Holland Farmers Market Would stay here again if had kid with us just for the space of the rooms

This will be the third week that we have stayed at this hotel and it has been one of the most pleasant stays The staff are always so friendly and helpful The breakfast far exceeded our expectations, although they do run out quite quickly on the weekends

😉 The rooms and hallways are always clean and smell fresh (previous hotels we’ve stayed at have reeked of weed and cigarette smoke) The rooms are quite and the location is excellent Easy access to expressway and many restaurant options are very close/in walkable distance We will forever be customers! Thank you for making this place feel like our second home

Corrin Davis Leverton

We stayed in the queen studio suite and it was a very comfortable room to stay in! Our towels were so plush and fresh We thought the ability to swivel the TV was a nice touch to the room layout! The full sized fridge and well stocked kitchen supplies were also very helpful Check in was easy and quick! Our room was right next to the stairs and it was loud at times, it sounded like guests were running and dragging items through the stairwell

At one point in the late evening it sounded like guests were having an argument and shouting at each other in the room above – better soundproofing or a reminder to guests to not disturb their neighbors could have been nice

We stayed in room 314 the past weekend I highly appreciate having a pack and play (that we requested) before we got inBut, I was highly disappointed when I pulled out the sofa bed at night

The sheets were not changed from the previous guest and was filthy I couldn’t even open fully and closed it immediately I had a guest sleep on the floor for the nightI travel often for living, while traveling with family, this is completely unacceptable I expected higher standards from Marriot especially during COVID

Weird layout to the rooms We liked the sitting area but not impressed that there isn’t a sink outside the bathroom Plumbing is INSANELY LOUD! Woke up this morning to what literally sounded like a person repeatedly smashing on our wall with a large hammer

It was from the pipes due to the people upstairs taking a shower Crazy insane loud! NOT a good way to start your day Toilet doesn’t flush properly, we need to take the lid off the tank and mess with the plunger Lock on bathroom door doesn’t work Pool area is VERY small The place is quite clean though and a very well stocked hot breakfast (coffee was very good too) Staff was very friendly and helpful

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel!!! From the moment we walked in, when we received a fabulous welcome from the desk attendant, to the time we left, with more kind words from ANOTHER desk attendant, we were so pleased with this hotel The room was beautiful, clean, nicely appointed, and comfortable I noticed others comment on noise–that was not our experience even though the hotel was fairly full with lots of children running around

The complimentary breakfast the next morning was tasty and nicely laid out, and the lounging area was great Our only disappointment was the rain that started to fall just as we walked out to enjoy the outdoor firepit Not their fault! LOL! A great stay at a nice hotel with terrific staff Two thumbs-up!!!

Veronica Phoenix

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful However, we asked for a quiet room away from the highway, which we did get, but they put us directly above the firepit area which was supposed to close at 10 or 11pm There was a sports team out at the firepit ALL night

We called the front desk multiple times starting at 12am to no avail It was 6/7am before the party broke up – loud music, loud talking We paid to get sleep and got no sleep

Nice hotel, right by the river and only 15 minutes walk from the downtown area Parking was easy, the lobby was stylish and neatly arranged The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating

Our room was clean, smelled fresh, and had enough amenities The pull-out sofa bed was large and comfortable Being on the third floor, the balcony in the room faced a concrete alleyway and side of the building, so we didn’t use it Breakfast was complimentary and there were variety of breakfast items, including one of the best hotel coffees I have ever consumed The breakfast and dining area staff were prompt and courteous with their service Checking in and checking out was seamless with the Hilton Honors App

This hotel was amazing Embassy Suites must be doing something right From the front desk to the breakfast, the workers were so nice and helpful

The guys making omelets we’re great and the manager was very personable The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the pool was fun We ordered food from the restaurant and that was also delicious Great location and parking was so convenient We will definitely be back!

This Embassy Suite location has some of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve had the pleasure of staying in They recently went pet friendly and that was a pleasant surprise for us! The lounge overlooks the Grand River which provides an excellent local back drop The drinks and snacks were very good and reasonably priced

The pool is good but the hot tub got over-run with kids during the afternoon One down side – for the moment – is the distance to most of the other nightlife in downtown This will likely change in the future given the plans for further development at that end of town Long & short – we will be back to stay there again

Great location, although the shared driveway with the oil change/car wash business next door needs some love That pothole could swallow a car!The hotel itself and rooms were very clean, and relatively quiet We do travel with a white noise sound machine for our son, which I think really helped with the sound as I could still hear doors and other guests in the hallway, though it didn’t disturb us

The room was pretty small in comparison to other locations with the same room type, however it was still perfectly functionalIf you’re looking for a nice, clean, hotel in a good location to both the airport, shopping, and dining, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here!

Kids were running up and down the hallways all night They kept playing in the elevator so nobody could use it Went to the exercise room and kids playing in there unsupervised

Manager told me it happens everytime the travel hockey teams are in town My advice is don’t stay here if travel hockey is in town They must pay more for their rooms then I did Didn’t get much sleep before our flight and the managers response seemed to be sorry about your luck really disappointed in Marriott
