Great place just outside of DC Lots of space in our room I didn’t use any amenities we only had one night, but the room was much better than I expected

We had a bedroom and a sitting room with a door to separate the two rooms It slept 6 comfortably so long as you are not picky about bed sizes We have a full at home so nothing new for us Highly recommend if you have kids

shannon moore

Our room is on the fifth floor and has seen it’s share of visitors But overall is a nice room and the beds are comfy The sofa bed is like any sofa bed sunk in when sitting on it as a couch but the bed is comfy is one has to sleep says my oldest

The hot water is warm hopefully that’s just because we are on the fifth floor but overall the bathroom is very nice The AC in the room is kinda loud but it cools the room down nicely

Melissa Harness

Hotel is older but remodeled The air conditioning is so loud Our first room it actually rattled the floor

They did move us to another room, but the system in there was very loud too One other room they had us in smelled of smoke so they moved us after saying the whole hotel was supposed to be smoke free So switched a total of 3 rooms to get a decent one Also, no hot breakfast as advertised Also indoor pool was so tiny and had a weird green color tinge to it That being said the bed was good Evening front desk clerk was super nice, day time guy was not Overall, not a great experience as far as choice hotels go

Quiet and clean Comfortable bed and a selection of pillowsIn the morning you can find a tasty breakfast ready and waiting

Would have given 4 stars but there was no shower gel in the dispenser, which I didn’t discover until I was already in shower – had to get out and grab the hand soapParking is tight

Things were wonderful and we were very happy with our accommodations until a large family group checked in on Friday night, seeming to occupy the room directly across the hall and the one next door as well as the room next to ours Since then, its been constant yelling, screaming, loud thuds, and doors slamming We talked to the front desk employee last night about the issue and he claimed that he would speak to them about it

Had to call back later as there was no change in noise, actually an increase Tonight has been much the same, with Justin at the front desk letting us know that quiet hours aren’t until 10pm and that if we want anything done he can call the Sheriff’s department for us to make a formal noise complaint Never in my life have I dealt with this lack of response in ensuring each guest has the quality stay associated with the Hilton brand These guests seem to have zero regard for any other people in the hotel and the front desk’s response that the property owner has chosen NOT to get INVOLVED with disputes between guests is very disheartening My husband and I are both ill at the moment and unable to change rooms as suggested I guess I’ll have to reevaluate where we choose to stay in the future based on this interaction with staff I feel as though we are stuck in a daycare without anyone offering assistance to keep the noise down to an appropriate level This is most definitely not what I thought I was paying forlistening to children screaming all day and their parents screaming “go the f@#$ to sleep” at night

Getting 3 stars due to friendliness of the staff The hotel is slowly becoming worse and worse with no continued repairs The air quality of the hotel is horrible

I developed a horrible cough after my first night there and it went away less than 24 hours after leaving The overall room cleanliness was poor The TV didn’t work properly There was no body wash in the container but the staff were able to get me more This place has really went downhill fast in the last few years and I likely won’t be returning to this hotel when traveling back to the area for business I left a review with Hilton themselves and exchanged emails with the manager

Check in was quick and easy! Front desk staff are friendly, helpful and professional! I did digital check in they had everything ready for me! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable! Good lighting all around This place is convenient to restaurants and quick service foods! Plenty of parking! Did not have breakfast had to leave before it was time! But they do offer it

Barbara Lewis

The Holiday Inn Express at Dumfreys was amazing It is newly renovated so that the rooms are large and especially well designed The workspace is very functional and the rooms each have a refrigerator and microwave

The whole hotel was extremely clean The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and supportive I had a medical emergency while I was staying there and was so fortunate for their responsiveness and support in handling the emergency and their support and concern in the days following I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to stay in this area You will not be disappointed!

Matthew Balconi

Our room was fine The HVAC air filter was dirty but at least it was the washable type and I just clean those myself in the bathtub and it’s very common for them to be filthyThe breakfast was awesome though, and the lady in charge of breakfast was very nice

There was so much choice and everything was really delicious- the biscuits and gravy was fantastic What a great way to start the 2nd leg of our trip!

When trying to check in the person at the service desk wouldn’t open the door for me, had to wait for another person checking in Once in the room there was a beeping noise that kept my wife up all night The room was not great; lights were out, bathroom tile were cracked and shower curtain rail was broken

The only brightside to our stay was housekeeping were very friendly and helpful The eateries near by are plentiful I have traveled many places and this experience was in the lower half have places i would recommend

Zeye

When I arrived I was charged a higher amount than what was told to me through the booking site this was fine I proceeded to go on but then was told I also wouldn’t be able to use my military discount and they said that I should have done that threw the booking site (I’ve stayed at The Courtyard in Ohio and any other hotel allowed me to show my military ID and applied the discount when I arrived) , but I shook that off as well Anytime I stay at hotels I record the room before and after when I checked out I was charged the correct amount, somehow the next day they processed an extra 100 dollars I was confused because I left everything neat and as it was, I called to ask why I was charged the extra amount and was told it was because of a lamp being broken and shedded into pieces and was given attitude when I asked for them to provide proof (which they could not provide) I disputed the charge and won due to there actually being no broken lamp and me providing proof to my bank and the hotel could not show that there was a broken lamp neither Customer service here was horrible and inexperienced

The staff was fantastic Very helpful and friendlyRoom had coffee, fridge and microwave

Bathroom was nice, we couldn’t find the switch for the exhaust fan Water pressure was great and got hot water right awayBreakfast each day was good and well stockedCookies in the evening in the lobbyI would stay there again

Roy Brown

Spent three nights for a wedding weekend, along with the wedding party and several other guests The room was reliably Hampton Inn comfortable The manager was not only accommodating to the group, he was also quite friendly, speaking whenever he saw us and engaging in conversation whenever we were waiting for someone to come down

He made sure to have our room serviced when we did not check out on Sunday I give extra credit to any hotel with waffles for breakfast The rest of the breakfast fare was pretty typical Two things to know: 1 Parking, while adequate, is mostly not convenient to the main entrance 2 There are no restaurants within walking distance, but the hotel has a list of nearby places

Trent

This was a wonderful place The room was very clean and well organized and had a work area, refrigerator, microwave, etc the room was full sanitized and sealed prior to check in

There were multiple hand sanitizer stations throughout the hotel Hot and fresh coffee was available in the lobby 24/7 and there was a very well stocked mini-store for late night munchies There was a full breakfast in the mornings from 6 to 10 There was also free WiFi

Rolled in at 2 AM after an 18 hour drive from South Florida Was met by Kevin at the front desk who could not have been nicer or more pleasant! He could see that we were a bit frazzled and got us checked in and squared away as quickly as he could The hotel lobby smelled fresh and clean

Our room was spotless The beds were well made, soft and fresh smelling as well Plenty of soft towels, plus a few extra face cloths in the bathroom – also spotless! Very nice stay on our way home I would definitely stay here again And a big thank you to Kevin again for being such a welcoming representative for this hotel!

Carrie Richards

The girls that are working here are awesome! I can’t say enough good things about them They helped us in so many ways We had a toilet overflow at night (which was not a hotel problem) and the night girl went above and beyond to help us

Then our rental car wouldn’t start and the morning girl tried to help us jump our car They were both so kind and helpful The hotel was nice and clean but your staff is awesome! They deserve raises for putting up with us!

Elizabeth Finegan

We stopped here on our drive fromNY to SC Wasn’t quite half way but it was such an easy book and check in with our toddler twins in the middle of the night The rooms were large, beds and pillows comfortable

The bathroom was beautifully updated The free breakfast was so convenient with healthy options and things that pleased the entire family The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, particularly housekeeping! Would stay here again, and at and Hampton Inn

Kathryn Day

For a two-star hotel, we thought this was pretty good We came in after 10:00pm, and they found a room for us for the weekend It wasn’t a great price, but it was fair

The room was clean, and the service was friendly The beds were small (full size, not queen) but comfortable, and the TV, refrigerator and microwave all worked We were fully satisfied

Trish Sgambelluri

We broke down on I95 were towed to a local service station and came here to see if we could get a room King size bed, microwave, fridge, coffee (pot missing) machineCoffee in lobby

Blow dryer, but pretty cool Pet friendly

James Dienekes

Front office staff keep this place going, otherwise I would give a 1-star rating The place is filthy, particularly the hallways and rooms Mine smelled like smoke and had trash in it when I arrived

The hallways leading to the area where pets are taken smelled like a trash heap It was horrendousI can understand if certain things are not working, like the hot tub, but the room was otherwise in poor condition, and I cut my stay short because of how dirty it was If not for the smell of death and lack of cleanliness, I would’ve stayed longerStill, got to hand it to the front office Those folks were very friendly and professionalRed Roof is cheap for a reason

I was informed upon check-in that despite having masks mandates in the state, the staff does not enforce it I also encountered several employees who did not wear a mask at all I saw a large group of guests convened in the check-in area, in front of the front desk and no one was wearing a mask

In addition, my room had a hard stain/residue next to the bed We also found what appeared to be pubic hair in the shower and near the sink Only reinforced the notion that the hotel is not taking cleaning seriously nor the pandemic, we are still in After sending photos and videos, I was comped a night and informed that housekeeping would come in and thoroughly clean the room Upon arrival back into the room, we found the carpet stain was removed but the hair remained I took additional photos and videos We are disgusted Despite the hotel being new construction, well laid out and comfortable furnishings, I am not at all confident that cleanliness and safety are a priority at this hotel Upon check out, I showed the front desk attendant the new photo and videos and she in a nice/nasty tone and attitude dismissed my concerns leaving a further bad taste in my mouth When we called down asking for a late checkout, she was nasty in how she rejected our request

Janet Haggard

Everything was absolutely perfect The rooms were large and clean and the beds were very comfortable The building is beautiful with an indoor pool but the very best part was the staff

They were very helpful and extremely pleasant and eager to assist Good breakfast in the morning I will definitely stay there again when I’m in that area I highly recommend them

Immanuel Watkins

We came up from the Virginia Beach area to see a Washington Commanders football game and stayed at this hotel The hotel was nice and clean, the breakfast food was good and several restaurants and Walmart close by but what made our stay superb was Andrew!!!! He checked us in efficiently as well as several other guests He was professional and courteous and very tentative to each guests

He was working alone and juggling calls, check-ins and grabbing extra sheets for guests This kid was incredible We checked in around 10pm and checked out 10am the next day and he was still there manning the front desk If I had my own business I would offer him a job for more pay because he is a stellar employee for SpringHill Suites He should be promoted ASAP! It’s because of him I would stay in the this same hotel again for the next game Sincerely, Dr Watkins

1st off, Called the customer service to help find a room 1 month advance of trip, Asked for the two room in one suite, was looking for a Staybridge we love there hotels but one company owns a lot of properties, so when ordering was assured this is what I was getting with candle wood, fast forward one month to the trip after driving 11hrs to arrive and find out the hotel over booked and moved us to a handy cap room, only two beds in room for all 6 of us, and come to find out they don’t even have the type of room in the hotel everything was full in the area so no option to move The front desk was joke as well, we stayed five nights and when we needed clean towels we took our dirty ones to the desk only to be told they don’t have any ready to come back when we came back was told we have to turn towels in to get new ones (different person ) explain what happened and only was able to get 3 towels and one rag, our trash was told to just leave it outside out door and room service would pick it up, yeah that just sat there for 2 days

would not recommend this hotel for the staff half rude and un willing to help the location was perfect for what we came for (son is a marine) but the area was not ok, a lot of drug activity across the street at the econo lodge The seven eleven down the street was cool

I just completed my stay on 30 November, and I will say this was by far the BEST hotel I’ve stayed in while in VA I can’t say enough about the quality of amenities here and the cleanliness of the hotel overall It was a more newer hotel, I think, so that may be the reason

Nonetheless, stayed here for about 40+ days over a two-month period and I felt at home It was good to be able to cook real food in my room vice eating out or eating frozen dinners each day Was here on business with the government and the hotel staff were all awesome!Pros:- Hotel staff AWESOME! The manager Laura and front desk Denise were the nicest two, although all of them were professional They worked with our moving in and out on multiple occasions and we were able to keep our same rooms upon our return They actually went way above and beyond during the last month to help us with our situation, so I really can’t say enough about these two ladies If I ever have to return to VA, I know where I’m staying- Clean rooms Although housekeeping cleaned on a weekly basis, my towels and bed sheets were always clean First thing I check in a hotel room is if the towels and sheets have hair on them There were only a few towels that had hair on them, but I had a supply of four, so I didn’t have to use those My shower was always clean, as was the whole room- Kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and a dishwasher They even provided dish detergent and dishwasher detergent AND paper towels Most hotels don’t do that- Free laundry!! No need to have to pay an excessive amount of quarters to do your laundry That was definitely a relief for the younger personnel staying in our group- The weight room was decent It had one of each piece of cardio equipment and newer free weights- Extremely close to I-95 and right across the street from Chick-fil-A!Cons– No fault of the hotel staff, but the elevators did smell like weed all the time Disgusting- And my room had some sort of Asian beetle in it The things would come from the window apparently and would not leave Yuck I don’t know where the things came from, but each day it seemed as if I walked in to more and more of those themFor those two reasons, my rating is four starsOther than those few issues, I am truly satisfied with my stay I know the personnel I was with enjoyed the comforts of their rooms as well!

Bonnie Mallory

OMG!!!! Staff super friendly and helpful! Laura, Manager, was sooooo helpful!!!! Had to make adjustments to reservations quite a few times as daughter graduating from OCS and asked lots of questions She helped every time!!! I can’t say enough about the staff at this location I would definitely stay again!!!! Got a double bed room and a king room

The double bed room much larger Kitchen was great, even had a dishwasher!!!! Pots, pans, utensils, towels to dry, paper towels, etc I didn’t go to pool but saw a family getting out and they looked like they had fun Work out room, passed by and looked adequate Restaurants nearby and walking distance But my favorite place to go to stock up my kitchen and eat in was Wegmans, which was just minutes away by car Best grocery store I’ve ever been in, live in West Coast but used to live on East Coast, just so happens by this very one! Love the selection and freshness and the pastries actually taste homemade and I’m very particular about pastries tasting usually like sugar and lard The lemon cream pastry was fantastic and the sushi fresh and being made on location Can’t say enough about this store, but back to the hotel Rooms were spacious (but again liked my double room better) Had a place for a couple of chairs to eat at a table that was part of the desk area Bathroom were pretty good size and shower definitely was huge for a hotel They did have bagels in the morning, but didn’t have them as purchased food at store Went out to eat once, but it was just okay, Wegmans sushi was so much better Not so saucy, well that’s for another review on the restaurant My daughter and husband were also very impressed with Suites and said they would stay there again when her husband came to visit during TBS Would be a great “home” stop They also liked Wegmans and after I left, went there again It was very convenient to Quantico base I don’t know what else to say, other than it was a perfect stay at a perfect location!!!!!

We cannot say enough good things about the experience we had at this hotel We enjoyed speaking with Alfred, and were so very grateful for his hospitality Both Ann and Angel at the front desk were absolutely delightful in every way

Please be patient and kind to the staff as it seems they’re short staffed We had a wonderful stay, and were so happy and comfortable We will definitely return soon!

Great hotel for a drop in stay at on a road trip Rates are fair, Starbucks available in the morning, and front desk staff is very accommodating The hotel is clean and rooms appear to have undergone a recent renovation

We stayed here for 6 months while our house was being built To be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to it – a very small space with two dogs and lots of neighbors didn’t sound all that great to me I was VERY pleasantly surprised! The amenities here are very good, and the staff works hard to keep them that way

The take-away breakfast was always a welcome way to start the day, and the staff keeps freshly-brewed coffee in the lobby all day The housekeeping staff does a great job keeping the common areas clean, and the hotel management goes above and beyond in making the guests feel welcome The housekeeper assigned to our room was careful to use pet-friendly cleaning products, which was such a nice touch The laundry facility was kept clean, and I never had a problem finding a washer/dryer available when I needed itWe have two dogs, and the adjacent dog park was a fast favorite The park is well-kept, good supplies on hand, and nicely wooded The other amenities, including outdoor grills, fully-stocked in-room kitchen, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, etc, made everything feel as close to home as we could have hoped!I found this to be a reasonably-priced, good-value extended stay around the Aquia Harbor area (and there are several choices), and I heartily recommend this location to everyone!

CRAIG B (CRAIG B)

I’d give this place a 45 stars We only stayed one night but as for the room, I told my wife this is the first time I had no suggestions on how they could make it better

The bed was comfortable The bathroom and sleeping area was clean It was very nice The front desk people were very helpful My only complaint is no hot breakfast They have a grab-n-go which doesn’t work well especially if you get the hot cakes because there are no plates to warm them up on and add syrup If they had a hot breakfast, it would easily be 5 stars

Tiffany Thompson-McNally

I live locally, off grid, in a travel trailer, while building our home Been doing it for 6 months and occasionally need a break with a full-sized shower with more than 5 minutes of hot water After back-to-back snow storms, my lot is a mud pit

I had a mental break down this morning and booked a hotel room to decompress I looked at all the reviews for local hotels and what sold me on this place was not only their superior reviews, but the comebacks from whoever is responding That person had me rolling, they are hilarious and so well written, I think they should be printed out and hung up around the lobby This is a nice place It’s an extended stay, the rooms are well sized, and it’s very clean The property is a little older, but they have kept up well on maintenance The hotel room is saving me from having an all out breakdown and ending up in the news I appreciate it and thank you for the thoughtful and entertaining responses I always trust somebody that can utilize the English language

The perfect stay! The people were super cool at check-in and out We just stayed the night, but the little things add up

the treadmills all worked, the shower was hot and powerful, the water refill stations had ice cold water, the breakfast was hot, and the place was clean!

Joyce Robinson

We’ve stayed at this location before and the rooms and hot breakfast are pretty good This stay we heard a commotion between 3am-4am to police officers banging on the door across the hall stating “someone called 911” When I inquired later this morning, I was told the police were at the wrong hotel

I understand things happen It was an inconvenience for us due to losing sleep, then preparing to drive 65 hours homeYou will not regret staying at this property We will visit again in the future

Michelle MacFarlane

Check in was easy Room was very clean and tidy Only downfall was 2 different staff members trying to enter the room before checkout at 11

One knock and they were using the key to enter our room Thankfully the latch was out but scary situation if we had been down getting breakfast, and we come back to people in the room without our permission 👀 or if we had kids with us SMH Front desk clerk promised to speak to his staff but still a little unnerving

Stayed here 25 – 29 July with my wife who was attending a work conference If you’re not staying at this hotel – you’re missing out Wonderful staff, super clean rooms, great breakfast and drink bar, pool n workout room super clean

Staff at the front desk greet you each and every time you they see you This is one of finest hotels we’ve stayed at in a very long time! A+ Hilton, A+

Most of the staff is friendly and tries but there is an overall lack of communication, quality, and supplies, especially on the weekend Also, the walls are paper thin Don’t plan on getting much sleep

In general, the cost of stay does not match services rendered There are other less expensive hotels nearby Be sure to lock your vehicle, and watch your surroundings throughout the local area

Came here because my house plumbing went down south This hotel has been nothing short of getting the job done with a clean and hospitable environment I’ve really enjoyed peaceful location and being so close to all the shopping

Would highly recommend if you need a nice, but not luxury hotel that won’t make you sell a first born in the DC area

The room made me feel like I was right at home but the bed was way better than at home Everything was extremely neat and welcoming I would recommend it 10 out 10 to my friends and family

I can’t forget about the front desk agent very good customer service and she always had a smile on her face Your company is definitely one of my top 5 hotels I have visited in my entire life and I mean that honestly Thank You for the wonderful experience will definitely be returning

The rooms were very nice and the bed was very comfortable! It was a really great place for a great price Only thing that was upsetting was when we called the front desk to request a late check out by a half an hour and was told we couldn’t We were a bit upset since we had a long and late drive that night and had checked in at 2am, and just wanted to sleep in a bit

Other than that situation everything else was really great

I booked a room here early for a road trip from FL to NH It seemed like a perfect just past the halfway point to stop and it really was! I got the room for $71 through a deal with Hooper After leaving FL around 10am, I arrived at the hotel at about 10:45pm, and it was already pretty busy with people trying to check in

At the time, there was only one gentleman working the front end and he was hustling as hard as he could trying to get everyone checked in at the time He had a great attitude and the utmost professionalism I unfortunately did not get his name because then another great employee named, Willie/Willy (I didn’t get the spelling and sorry if it’s wrong) had arrived for his shift He immediately helped me and was really great He really made me feel welcomed as a guest and was a fun conversationalist throughout the process of checking me in My room was really spacious, one of the biggest bathrooms I’ve had Rooms were really clean and plenty of linens The pillows were definitely more comfortable than anything in my bed; my neck actually had a good night haha I know some people may have bad experiences when it comes to cost affordable hotels and such, but I’ve had plenty of bad experiences with something that I paid a lot of money for Unfortunately these things can happen any time and anywhere Mistakes happen, so don’t let that keep you from making this a routine stop during your road trip on I-95! Oh yeah and breakfast is from 6am-9am I went down around 8 and there was plenty of fresh food and the food was being constantly filled; if it became empty it was filled right away A+ place I’ll be staying here every time

I’d love to give this hotel more stars At first glance everything is clean and perfect for the one night stay we had The beds are very firm so not conducive to a good night’s sleep for me

The kids loved the pool and the showers and room temps were great Some of the negatives: only had 2 towels in the room (seems odd as most include 4 for families – front desk was more than happy to give us more), the hand soaps in the bathroom were hooked up to the wall which my daughter could not reach, and in the morning I discovered the cup my daughter had set out from last night was crawling with ants Location was perfect though – right off the interstate

I was very disappointed in the service that I received from night clerk she put me in a room that was not properly clean, it still had trash bags of beer cans and empty food carton’s I went back to the front desk and told her that she had put me in a dirty room and she basically called me a liar saying that the rooms were checked & cleaned and that I dirtied it I got very upset and demanded that she gave me a clean room, she said that she didn’t have any extra rooms and Basically told me that I was welcome to leave and would not give me a refund for the night

I then contacted corporate and made a official complaint as to the situation, Corporate then called the hotel spoke with the nightclerk and demanded that she put me into one of the empty rooms that she really did have I have had 3 heart attacks and she ended up getting me so upset my chest started hurting and I stayed aggravated all night and did not get any rest I would expect this type of attitude and the poor quality of cleaning from a cheaper motel but for $300 a night that’s with tax I expect quite a bit out of the hotel, the staff and the quality of cleaning
