The staff here were absolutely amazing! They were so accommodating, so friendly, and so willing to help I really cannot recommend this hotel enough I regretfully did not book a block for my wedding and still had the majority of my guests stay at this hotel from out of town

In hindsight I wish I would’ve just booked my entire wedding here They were the most wonderful memory of my wedding They made every single person feel welcome Aside from that the breakfast is excellent, the bar is wonderful! And the Starbucks in the lobby is just a wonderful addition

Shane

Probably the hest hotel in Scranton The hotel is well located near the center of downtown with lots of restaurants & bars within walking distance The rooms are spacious, comfortable, & up to date

The staff are a pleasure to deal with & very helpful in every way The hotel restaurant has a few good menu items while most are average in my opinion The hotel bar has a large selection of whiskey & bourbon available at decent prices as well

Nick Betz

Nothing special Lobby has been decorated very nicely Their breakfast is good and you can get made to ordereggs/pancakes/french toast but it’ll cost you $15/person

The room I was in was surprisingly dirty for the Hilton brand name As soon as I walked in, I smelled the musty smell and it was very humid Bathrooms could use a good deep cleaning There was a red stain on the carpet next to the bathroom, which wasn’t a huge deal but spoke volumes to the lack of attention to detail and cleanliness of the roomWould I stay here again? Highly doubtful

Thanks Megan!! Love your passion for customer service You don’t know how special you are

This is one of the best hotels my fiancé and I have stayed at The staff was extremely nice, the rooms were well kept and to top it off, they are super dog friendly! Rocky absolutely LOVED his stay here They welcome your doggo with a goody bag filled with treats, a ball, waste bags and a yummy recipe! If we ever return to the area we will hands down stay here

I was scheduled to attend an afternoon event in a nearby town and needed to spend one night in a hotel before driving back to Philadelphia The Anthracite seemed nice and I didn’t mind the price, although not inexpensive, for a Saturday night in summer season I checked in, had a light and pleasant dinner on the terrace (the wait staff was very nice), and returned to my room (room was clean and comfortable, except for stained carpet)

I went to bed at 11 pm and was woken up a couple hours later by a party Loud talking, shrieking and laughing, kids running up and down the halls and into and out of a couple of the roomsI finally called the front desk at 2:30 am and eventually it quieted down I barely got any sleep When I went to get coffee in the morning, there was a large pile of discarded Domino Pizza boxes in the coffee room, plus a case of empty Bud cans (I overheard two cleaning staff members talking about it who expressed consternation) I asked the front desk if that type of party in the hotel was commonplace Front desk said there were two wedding parties and that the weekends were often noisy Barely an apology; more of a shrug I spent $250 with the expectation of not only getting a bed in a room, but actually getting some sleep Is this not the primary function of a hotel? Instead it seemed I was expected to understand that the presence of a wedding party made my expectation of a good night’s sleep a very low priority, take it or leave itFurther, I find it extremely surprising that the hotel would allow a group to take over a public room of the hotel, in full sight of the front desk, to consume alcohol brought in from an outside source Certainly, if was the same kids that ended up partying on the 3rd floor, they didn’t look old enought to legally consume alcohol Then again, at 2:30 in the morning, I was seeing red and not checking ID’sA sincere apology from the front desk would have really been appreciated Instead, there was no sense of concern whatsoever Either the product of apathy or lack of professional training, I’m not sure which

This was our second trip through the area and we liked the hotel so much last year that we stayed again This time we added the room service option The king deluxe suite was perfect, clean and large

The handle on the cabinet holding the mini fridge was broken but that’s very easy to work around Check in was extremely quick and helpful Two very nice men were at the desk The food from the bistro was delicious Bathroom was huge, The shower while not what i was hoping for (would have preferred a bathtub for the small human) was beautiful and luxurious Nothing better than an easy check-in, hot meal, hot shower and comfy bed after a long day on the road

Liline

I don’t even know where to begin with this place it was my first time there , we booked through a third party when we got there with our two twelve-year-old kids the place look very nice and the front desk attendance was very nice and friendly however ; when we got to our room , the room we booked was not the same room that we got That was one problem, second when we pull the blanket back to sleep there was food crumbs all over the bed 🛌

We called the front desk the lady came with fresh blankets she asked me if she should change the blanket or if I wanted to change it I told her no problem I will fix the bed with the new sheets The manager offer to change our room to a cleaner room with one king size bed and a pull-out couch 🛋 for the boysI told them that was okay don’t worry about it we will check out the next day as we was getting ready to get checked out there was a bug on my sheets I would not go back to this hotel although the manager refund us for the night ,the general manager after several phone calls

The hotel overall was great Very clean, lovely staff and well maintained facility So happy we chose here over staying at Mohegan Sun! I do want to point out one exceptional person

He was a waiter in the on site Bistro Wildflowers His name was Khalid We sat down to eat and it did not matter what I forgot to ask for because this gentleman was on top of it He asked if I wanted it before I had a chance to forget it! And the way he described the food when asked about it made me instantly want to eat that! And the food did not disappoint He was friendly, personable and professional This hotel is lucky to have him

pet friendly!!! very nice place spacious, clean, kitchen with stove top, microwave, refrigerator, King bed – very much like a studio apartment location is weird – gotta drive almost all the way around a mall to get to it

parking is right in front of the place and numerous spaces great place to stay I’m usually a Hilton chain person but I’m swayed now

Stephen Schubert

So to preface, we booked this hotel with the knowledge that it would be 100% occupied due to a festival in the area I booked our stay 5 months ago I’m a Marriott rewards member and ALWAYS request a quiet room away from the elevators and other high traffic points due to my sleep challenges

I even went so far to call the hotel 3 days before my arrival to reiterate the request Needless to say, they put me in a room right above the air condenser to the main lobby which buzzed all night and couldn’t move me to another location because they were sold out The room was initially only provided with 2 bath towels (we were 4 in the room) so I had to ask for more, and had to “wait” for housekeeping to finish laundry I also had to ask for bedding and linens for the pull-out sofa that should have been stored in the closet The toilet got stopped up at 2am and the phone in the room didn’t work so I had to call the front desk with my cellphone to request assistance At breakfast, which goes until 9:30, they ran out of the hot meal option before 9:00 and wouldn’t make more (so what’s the point of it being “included”)? I’ve stayed at many Residence Inns throughout the country (and even stayed here 3 years ago) and this was by far the worst I’ve experienced for this quality of hotel (at $399/night) The manager did adjust my rate as a courtesy, but I will have to rethink staying here again if I ever return to Scranton

Doris Oneill

We were in town to meet with family under unfortunate circumstances The amount of help we received from the employees here was the greatest Erin sent us to a beautiful family owned restaurant which we enjoyed immensely

She also showed us so much compassion and we really felt that Thank youMicheal was a kind young man and kept us laughing Cozy place made us all feel welcome

I’ve been here for more than a week, and getting to know Katie and her staff has absolutely been a treat Every single staff member has been absolutely tentative and accommodatingThey serve hot breakfast daily— which is a step up for me considering I typically just get conventional, And they are very personable

It’s the best hotel experience I’ve had in such a long time Thank you, everyone !

Brittaerobics

First let me say this is my 2nd time staying at this hotel over a holiday weekend and the service is always above and beyond The lady at the front desk was AMAZING she greeted me kindly, had everything ready for my room and I even had a glitch where I clogged my toilet and she very kindly came to unclog it Her kindness meant the world to me

Room was great and breakfast was excellent! I really hope that management reads this and gives Kuddos and bonuses to everyone working memorial day weekend The employees at this location really are doing a great job with quality I’m very satisfied with my stay Thank you to all

Dana Braswell

This hands down is the BEST place to stay when you visit Pittston PA!!! It’s nice, warm and welcoming The food and rooms are really nice and clean (even with Covid going around out here in the world they kept it very clean) But for me what makes this place the best is Katie and her wonderful staff! Without them I don’t think my 4-5 weeks there would have been enjoyable! The staff is amazing!! Courteous, kind, caring, friendly and just overall very out going! And it all comes from their awesome manager Katie!!! She is super sweet with and amazing personality and goes way above the call for her staff and her guests… I wouldn’t even call us guests with the way we were treated… I’d say family!!!! Katie and her staff treated us like family!!! Always checking in with us when we came back to the hotel or just taking the time to ask how was our day (and actually wanting to know)

Just the little things that made it all the best!!! So with that being said if you want a hotel that will treat you right and that is actually genuine then don’t hesitate and go book your room here I promise you will NOT regret it!!!One truly happy and overly satisfied customer/guest Dana and Emery

Our room was quiet, comfortable, tastefully decorated and lighted, and spotlessly clean Everyone was so helpful and kind But this was no ordinary perfect hotel! The opulent beauty of the old train station was evident in every area of the hotel

The stained glass, the tile mosaics, the fountains and woodwork – all make this a fantastic experience that we would love to come back again to And the food offered at Carmen’s and Trax was also excellent! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Joshua Clink

It is all about expectations When I first got here I felt disappointed but when I looked back on the information about the hotel, I realize I was expecting the hotel to be something its not There are not a lot of amenities but they embrace being a simple hotel done well

All the staff is friendly and helpful I never tried Carmen’s but it looks nice and the menu is easy to find Trax was good and had convenient hours The location is extremely convenient, walking distance to the mall and most of downtown And it is right at the entrance to the highway It is a beautiful and historic structure that is well cleaned

Rūta Povilaitytė

Looks good in the photos but needs renovation Our room smelled very bad, like chlorine, as well as the corridor and the elevator The windows do not open in our room and it was difficult to get rid of the smell by using air ventilation, but in a few hours it got better

Also, they charged us +70 dollars for a dog for one night, but there was nothing for the dog in there, neither dog bed or bowls or at least treats, nothingThe place has parking and the room is large, the bed is large and comfortable Apart from the chlorine smell, it was quite clean It has amenities like a tea machine, towels and self hygiene amenities (shower gel, shampoo, ), but they do not smell goodOverall it was OK for one night, I would come back again if not the chlorine smell

We have stayed at this hotel several times and it’s consistently well maintained, convenient, pet friendly with helpful friendly staff This trip we accidentally left an article and 30 minutes later when we discovered our oversight I called the front desk, the clerk immediately sent the housekeeping supervisor up to the room The article was found and placed in the safe for us to retrieve on our return trip

We were so thankful for the immediate action

The staff here are extremely friendly, down to earth, and accommodating My room was spotless and the housekeepers were very friendly I didn’t even have to ask for replacement towels or amenities

The last hotel I was at (Sleep Inn in Dunmore, PA) was like pulling teeth just to get a towel and a roll of toilet paper every 3-4 days! Not to mention the head of housekeepers was extremely rude and argued, screamed at, and called me “scrap” to my face- not here though! I would recommend this location to anyone It’s peaceful, quiet, and no issues or drama the way I experienced at Sleep Inn What a breath of fresh air They have a nice selection of breakfast items every morning, and coffee and hot tea available 24/7 They also have a gym and laundry facilities available 10 out of 10

Courtney Spatto

The staff is wonderful! So kind and attentive The beds were clean and comfy The breakfast was so good

You can make your own hot Belgian waffles and they have powdered sugar and syrup Mmmmm! Muffins, fruit, toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, juices, coffee I didn’t have cash to tip the housekeeper Molly, so I found she has a boyfriend working there, and I was able to venmo him her tip Again, all super friendly people! Very affordable!

Barret Rhoads

Booked through a 3rd party booking site as it said dogs were allowed Checked in and walked into the lobby with dogs and was told they were not allowed It was nearing midnight and we were driving through the area and ended up having to go down the road another 45 minutes to a pet-friendly hotel

Microtel refused to refund us for the 2 rooms we did not stay in that night, and the next day the manager accused my wife and me of being on video sneaking the dogs into a room When I challenged them to review the video, they conceded that we had not stayed in the rooms and had left the hotel They would still only refund 1 of the 2 rooms Very dissatisfied, I have never stayed at a Microtel before, and I will never give them any of my money ever again Plenty of other choices where customers are treated fairly

When you walk in the smell of cleanliness greets you like a warm hug The front desk clerk named DJ was super nice and had a lovely smile We took our kids for the pool for a weekend and we all enjoyed it very much

The hot breakfast they provided was great! Two different kinds of sausage, warm eggs and a waffle maker that gave us delicious waffles for our girls An excellent place to hideaway We’ll definitely be back soon!

Reeked of cigarette and marijuana smoke, Guests actively smoking Hotel staff inept Apathetic Hotel advertises itself as Non Smoking facility

Upon check in large sign at front desk reads “We are 100% non smoking” Guests are required to sign financial acceptance of fees incurred in discovered smoking Exiting elevator to our floor immediately we were disgusted by the powerful odor of both cigarettes and marijuana smoke It was pervasive I went to front desk to complain and was told by clerk, “we have no way of targeting what guests are smoking” I replied then come to the floor with me and I will show you exactly the rooms it is emanating from he said he would be right up I waited in our corridor he never showed and i watched as a guest exited her room with lit cigarette and went down back stairs Obviously the smoke detectors in the rooms and corridors are disabled or non working properly Smoke poured out of the room as she exited What is the point of having a policy you don’t enforce and falsely advertise you are non smoking when you are not This presents a health and safety issue to all guests Fire risk Guests with lung and breathing issues at risk Went down to front desk and told them we were leaving Reason failure to adhere to the nonsmoking policy they publicize Contacted Customer Service at Choice hotels parent company Complete joke Useless DO NOT STAY HERE

Terry Kay

Cleanliness was decent and bed was comfortable But like someone else said, staff are inept I complained 4 times between 11pm and 12pm about noise next door to me and they did nothing to solve the problem

Then at midnight the staff came and pounded on MY door Sure they have decent beds, but if they don’t uphold their quiet time policy and you can’t sleep, what have you paid for?My hotel last night had truly professional staff These folks could not be any more unprofessional I highly recommend that you seek a bed somewhere else

35 stars Overall nice, clean hotel

Decent sized rooms And you get what you pay for Staff was friendly, attentive and wanted to help We had some issues with our room with one of showers not having hot water and the lock to the internal door (to second room) was broken – both these could not be fixed as the maintenance staff does not seem on site (during the evenings)-we were only here for a night Breakfast was average for a hotel this size

Fun and convenient casino to visit! Joe a Roulette table dealer is the bomb 🤩 he’s the absolute best to really have a good time with!! Restaurants are all delicious, but you need to make reservations The cooking show through the Rustic Kitchen is also a blast too!! W a group or not! Highly recommend making a reservation there, it’s a show you need to experience that at least once it’s a lot of fun and wine is generously paired and served with each course!!! 😍

Rock King

It’s pretty sad now The racing side is abandoned The rest rooms were filthy

Floors were badly in need of cleaning and urine smell was overwhelming 😫 The drinking fountains were still turned off for some reason Drink service was pitiful if you could even find a server Valet service no longer offered I don’t understand what happened Covid!? I’m sick of that being used as an excuse for everything BTW they never paid out much at the slots but they should be ashamed of the lack of winners I was here all day on a Tuesday and never heard anything positive from any patrons and no one was winning much of anything Just feeding bills into machines and if you get a bonus it payed like 500 max

Kendralove813 “Kendralove813”

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is amazing! If you visit for the day, there are many slots and table games to keep you happy and entertained Definitely get a momentum card so you can get credits to use for future visits Becoming a member also gives you the opportunity to get a free or discounted room in the hotel

The hotel is Beautiful, the rooms are awesome The decor alone makes you feel like a million bucks The customer service is always on point and they really are there to help in any way they can I have never had a bad experience with the casino or hotel I highly recommend checking it out The restaurants are also soooo delicious! It’s truly top quality

I have stayed here twice and cannot wait to get back First, the location is a perfect place to be centrally located for the sights and events of the area The Lodge’s grounds are beautiful

The units are perfectly cleaned and beautifully decorated The kitchen is so well stocked, you have everything you need More than that, I immediately felt I was at home Joyce & Dean are so wonderful and are there for whatever you need My morning walks were filled with beauty and nature There is a peace that surrounds you here I would and do recommend the Lodge at Keen Lake to everyone Looking forward to going back very soon!

Stayed here this past weekend The Lodge at Keen Lake was a clean, cozy, peaceful place to stay The owners live on the property and are very friendly and accommodating

The suite we had was well kept and very comfortable to stay in The lake is a brisk walk through well maintained paths and nice added bonus There are spots on the property where you can set up a fire and just enjoy the outdoors Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet getaway

Joyce and Deans Lodge was a fantastic start on our road trip journey It was the nicest and best place we stayed at actually during our 15 week road trip

I wish we would have stayed there our whole trip honestly It was very comfortable, clean and well equipped with all the essentials Joyce and Dean were a pleasure to meet and talk with as well as being great hosts I hope to be back one day soon

We initially booked a hotel in Wilkes Barre that was horrible! We took that loss and rebooked a room here because we just wanted to enjoy our evening out The front desk clerk was amazing, she helped upgrade us so we could enjoy the remaining of the evening Got to our suite and everything was perfect! Would definitely stay here each time I visit the area

Perfect room size for our family (of 5) and the high ceilings made it feel even bigger Great attention to detail with small things – great breakfast options, clean pool, outdoor patio (great for enjoying breakfast or complimentary cookies!), and eco-friendly soap/shampoo setups in the bathroom Located near restaurants and a mall, so seems like a good location (Scranton is surprisingly scenic) but were just passing through, so i don’t know if it’s well-located otherwise

Not a lot of staff interactions, but the ones we met were friendly and helpful
