Was a Great Valentine surprise staying in a jacuzzi/hot tub roomWent swimming shortly after arriving, the sun was beating down into the pool room and it was warm and the water was even warm Went down a bit later and the sun went down and it was quite chilly in the pool room and I couldn’t even go past my waist cuz the pool temp was chilly as well

Room was clean Bedding had little hairs stuck to the linen, perhaps don’t wash too many at once so they can fully wash and same with drying To make sure those hairs aren’t thereOvernight front desk Danielle, I think that’s the speaking 5 oh her name She was Awesome Very informativeI would recommend this motelJust know there are nitrates in the water, because it’s well water Not a Huge deal as they have ion water purification stations for drinking water, otherwise they have complimentary bottled waterThank you for a great stay 😊

Fresh paint and new furniture soon I am told Looks like they are trying No bacon or eggs at this property, but a cool automatic pancake conveyor that whips em up quick

Stayed in the king deluxe studio suite, some cracked tile on the spa tub but overall good condition The double queen room was also in decent overall condition The fresh paint does wonders Overall a pretty solid AmericInn

Kaitlin Bourgard

I am not one to leave a bad review, as I always try to stay positive, but AmericInn needs to know this Although, they had a sign saying they were painting by the desk, we were not informed about this when we booked our suite We booked one of the “nicest” rooms at this hotel, thinking we were getting a nice whirlpool and fireplace in our suite

We were wrong What we got was paint and tape everywhere and on everything Our room was not vaccumed, or cleaned well There was paint on the bed sheets as well as one of the cupboards was almost falling off! The hotel looks nothing like the pictures online, and the service was poor, and not welcoming I would not recommend AmericInn, especially the one in Eau Claire, WI on Texaco drive

You cannot find a nicer group of people to make sure everything goes as planned Austin is fantastic at his job!!! The rooms are clean, spacious and we couldn’t have had a better experience! Thank you again to the entire staff for making our daughters wedding exceptional!!

Perfect place to stay for the night, friendly staff and great service Loved the showers

no need to bring your own shampoo conditioner or shower gel, as it’s provided in the shower There is a lock on the tops that makes it so you cannot take the tops off, which made me feel better about using them Also has a resturant with barJohnny’s steakhouse which was amazing! I would have given this a much higher rating if it were not for the general manager of this hotel Upon check in as part of the Marriott Ambassador program, I requested our guaranteed late check out of 3 pm Imagine my shock when I received a phone call at 11:30 telling us we did not have late check out and would need to leave or pay for another night

Explained the situation and he hung up on me At noon I had to be on my laptop for a company presentation I could not log on to my laptop, I went downstairs to be notified that our late check out did not give us the right to use Marriott’s internet and he had shut it offno words completely shocked, as 98% of my stays with Marriott brands have been fantastic This was just wrong and petty This should not be a reflection on Marriott, but rather a complaint against a general manager that does not know what custom service is

Brittney Kromm

Would of been a great stay if it Wasn’t for the disgusting service I got from the general Manager of this hotel He had not only accused me of smoking in my room with my 2 small children but had said the smell was so bad they couldn’t rent it out for a whole another day After trying to discuss this with him he had hung up the phone on my boyfriend twice

Once in which he was just calling back to ask a question Then I had called to ask who we complain to he had said NO ONE He then later said I could call corporate and I told him he lied he then hung up on me The general manager hung the phone up Its honestly the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with and the company should be ashamed

We’ve been coming to the Oxbow for years but our most recent stay has us wondering if there’s a better hotel for the money we spent for two nights here It seems like some of the initial shine has started to fade – the rooms are starting to show some wear, especially in the shower area The air conditioner was pretty weak and even with it turned all the way to 61 the room still got warm during the night

The french press delivery we used to love getting in the mornings was “not available” per the front desk during our stay, despite it being mentioned at check in as an amenity Finally, the record collection that was so novel and fun a few years ago seems like it hasn’t been updated since the hotel opened – we hope to find something new and interesting every year and are surprised to see the exact same options each time Overall still a great hotel in a good location, but for the price we paid it didn’t feel like we got our money’s worth this time

Andrea Charrier

As advertised! Every single person working there was friendly and helpful Comfortable, clean rooms with a hip vibe Record player and vinyl to borrow

Live music, but not too loud to be a bother in your room Comfy bed with good linens Hot shower with tons of water pressure Supports artists and pays staff living wageor at least in the restaurant they say they do More than happy to stay here again!

Carly Johnson

The room was comfy and nice The service was good The hot tub appears to have been closed for some time which was the main reason I chose this motel over others

I believe they should ensure all advertised amenities are available as by looking at others reviews it appears the hot tub is not working a lot of the time It also could use some updating I found it to be rather expensive for an older motel with a frequently non working hot tub It has a nice pool area and slide for kids, but adults want a hot tub

Chad Johnson

So I called the day I made the reservation and the day before I arrived To ensure the pool and hottub are working

arrive to find the hot tub closedWell good thing I got the premiere suite(haha), except the main room TV remote only works if held 6 inches in front of itDon’t count on the pullout bed They can’t be slept in Bars directly in my backMy room smelled fine The room is dated and smallPool is nice for the kids They have a life guard

Kelsey Kay

Stayed June 7th in room 214 and brought home bed bugs and have been battling them since Booked a room for 2 nights same room They tried to tell me that although the reservation says the same room it was actually not…

Then moved us to a disgusting room when we paid for the 2 room suite Wouldn’t even give it 1 star The pool slide was closed, hot tub closed, pool water foggy

My partner and I were looking to have a more private experience for our anniversary and we were able to do just that here! We enjoyed the complimentary happy hour sitting in a beautiful little area outside and walked down the street for dinner at Happy Hollow til we returned to our beautiful Grand Suite and HUGE whirlpool tub This is so close to our house but it felt like we really were on a little vacation We may have to make this our yearly anniversary spot 🙂 thank you for a great stay!

Grace Shafer

I cannot say enough good things about this place It’s like a little slice of heaven I wish I could have stayed forever truly

I will say bring a fan if you don’t want to sleep with the ac running It got super warm in our top floor room Other than that breakfast was incredible, cleanliness was perfect, the bed was soooo big and comfy and the jacuzzi takes a long time to fill but not much you can do about that haha it was great too! You can tell the owners really care They are lovely and I will be back on my next vacation for sure Wish they had better signage/instructions though for if u can use the kitchen, piano, and if you can have drinks from the fridge Those parts were a little confusing but no big deal

Bj Guderian

We had a lovely time (choosing the right partner-in-crime is key!) The whirlpool tub in the Grand Suite is GIGANTIC! Unfortunately, the property is a little run down (plastic flowers, walkway lights knocked over, some gouges in the wallpaper, and a tile near the whirlpool tub that needed attention) And while we absolutely LOVE Tater Tots, we thought it an odd companion to the eggs benedict we had for breakfast

Needs a little help, but I wouldn’t rule out going again

Brought the family here for the weekend Our young kids couldn’t wait to get there and hit the pool Got to the hotel around 4 pm and changed into swim suits

We made it to the pool to find it was roped off with caution tape We found out that the pool had been out of order “for weeks” However, we were assured that at least the hot tub was availableThe kids got in the hot tub and told us it was cold (compared to a typical hot tub) I’m guessing the water was around 80 degrees Told the management and was assured someone would look into it The next morning we headed down to the hot tub again to find it was now at room temperature (felt even colder than that)I understand things break down, but it’s very unfortunate that the management of this establishment won’t even give the common courtesy of updating their website to let potential customers know that the pool and/or hot tub is out of orderThe front desk dude was nice and the place was somewhat clean, but I expect better when paying well over $200 per night

Gentleman at the front desk was welcoming, friendly and informative about the area The hotel was spotless, the room super clean, beds were comfortable, extra linens provided promptly upon request and breakfast was excellent Conveniently located right off the interstate

We will be traveling through the area again in September and we will definitely stay here for an overnight stop!

Lacy Cygan

Hotel staff was less than helpful Never told us what time breakfast ran until, and we were 20 minutes too late, so my kids (one of them is disabled) and I had to wait hours until my husband was done working to go get real food besides Cheez-its and snacks Like they couldn’t have hooked us up with some fruit or toast or something easy

Pool was cold and had bugs floating in it Hot tub was warm at best Bathroom floor was sticky Dresser in the room had something splashed on it Duvets aren’t secured so be prepared to have a lumpy mess of a comforter

Nice amenities, especially the beds, but the structure is a resonance chamber If you’re not on the top floor, you’ll be subject to every footfall/impact noise possible from above; the noise transmission is intolerableI requested a top-floor room, weeks in advance

My request was ignored; got a 1st floor room, directly underneath a room containing an out-of -control, loudmouth kid who seemed to delight in drumming on the wall and stomping their steps I demanded a different room, and got one, on the top floor, after making it clear to the staff I would not stay under such conditions and would dispute any chargeMy satisfaction with this action lasted only a few minutesUpon returning to my new room, I checked my bank card balance, and was disgustedMy card was charged 20%(!) over and above the total price quoted to me through Bookingcom At NO point during the booking nor check-in process was it ever disclosed that a vague, potentially broadly-defined “incidentals fee” would be added to my “Total Price”After my companion and I confronted the front desk clerk about this, we were told the fee would be refunded in the morning They said it was ‘in case we cause any damage to the room’ Really?? A middle-aged couple, (one partly handicapped) are a damage risk? How insulting!!So, I started an inspection of the room for anything that could be construed as ‘damage’ Guess what I found? See photosMy instincts are screaming that ‘bait-and-switch’ business practices may be at work here Personally, this experience was so aggravating I might think twice re Hampton Inn againIf you decide to stay here, be sure to check your charges right away; many folks don’t I suspect an unchallenged charge here may suggest a charge accepted Don’t fall for thisUpdate 5/31: Got refunded the surcharge as promised, but the lack of disclosure before/after the charge is still an issue that needs to be better handled/communicated One star back for the timely refund

The room was fine, staff was nice But the pool was closed an entire day, and I have an 18 month old We booked only because if the splash pad

Which we couldn’t use Also they “didn’t have” double tubes so my older niece and I couldn’t use the bigger slid They also wouldn’t allow me to hold my little one on my lap to go down the smaller slide even with the kiddie pool being closer So we literally had nothing for the whole day Asked for action city passes to compensate and was told no And was not given any resort fees back Very frustrating, as we wouldn’t have stayed the extra night for the pool had it been closed Also no one informed us of this, we just found out when we went down to the pool

Awesome! figuring out a la cart v hourly pass was a challenge with a 4 and 6 year old depends on the kids go carts for 3hrs – do the pass

Any way you slice it, you’re burning threw a few bucks so go with it and have funGreat crew, lots of fun +1 on chuck e cheese

Rooms are okay, kind of dated but clean I’m not sure who’s bright idea was to cover the bottoms of the beds with sheet metal, but if you kick it by accident it makes very loud sound The kid in the neighbor room was kicking it all evening

The water park was good, but also need some renovations The tall slide was very bumpy The kids zero depth play area was filled with iced water When we noted it to a staff member, she said her manager made a mistake

The Holiday Inn Express we would normally stay at (for its breakfast) was booked up due to four weddingsWe searched for more hotels along our route north and discovered this family owned motel It was late and they were 10 minutes away and had a very economical room for two

They don’t do AAA discounts and didn’t have breakfast, but they handed us breakfast bars/snacks and there was coffee and a refrig and microwave in the roomIts a one story motel and you park in front of your roomThe room and bathroom were clean and the bed comfy and we slept well The coffee and breakfast snacks while sitting at the table in the room were just right before the 11am checkoutHighly recommend and we would stay there again to support the local business

Very cute lil local motel All the rooms have their own individual flavor and decor- it feels like staying at your grandmas house, in a good way 🙂 Front desk was courteous, the rooms very neat and everything was immaculately clean

I have been to luxury hotels that don’t clean this well, and it is convenient to the cute downtown of Chippewa Falls I definitely recommend a stay here

The hotel was nice and clean The rooms have been remodeled and do not look older at all There are a few downsides though, the breakfast was sparse, but I’ve seen worse, including on this same trip

There were signs all over of other places to eat breakfast at Also while the bed looked beautiful, it was super hard So hard I really couldn’t get comfortable on it Also the pillows were super small for a queen sized bed

This was huge for us, as we got MUCH more time to enjoy our stay! Pool was great, breakfast was perfect and the game room was the cherry on the Sundae!Would definitely stay again

When I arrived in our room the floor had clearly not been vacuumed It looked like someone had eaten a nature valley granola bar in between the two beds We had to vacuum it ourselves, because it was so gross

We had another companion in a separate room that was not given towels or a shower curtain? They just missed the mark on basic cleanliness Price was decent and staff was friendly which saved them from a one star review

Hope

We were in town for a wedding and the entire experience was a disaster Despite having a planned block of rooms, Friday and Saturday (day of wedding) many of the guests were unable to check in at the 3 pm arrival time and were given no ETA on when the rooms would be available We had to borrow one relative’s room to try and scramble to get ready for the wedding

One couple had a toilet that wasn’t functioning so had to be moved to another room, another one guest had their room given away when they were at the wedding (after first being told the room wasn’t ready at 3 pm) and had to find another hotelWithin my immediate family, the room we were in was less than clean (stains and hair on bedding) and the shower plumbing was terrible (the shower didn’t drain so I was standing in a pool of water above my ankles) and then in the middle of my shower the water pressure stopped all together for a couple minutes(!) Another family member had a similar experience in their room The fitness room had only 2 pieces of cardio equipment (a dated recumbent bike and treadmill) and no adjustable thermostat The room was easily 80 degrees situated next to the indoor pool The only positives of the entire experience was the front desk person did get a fan for the fitness room immediately after I complained about the temp, they quickly accommodated a request for an extra quilt for 2 guests who were cold at night The complimentary breakfast was OK as well in that they had a couple whole food items (hard boiled eggs and fruit that was not processed) in addition to a large variety of other foods (Belgian waffles, cereals, yogurt, instant oatmeal, toast, muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage) Otherwise there is a LOT of room for improvement

Pros:- Nice hot tub, if you can catch it empty- Rooms are long enough for playing with doggies (con: they put us on the second floor so we couldn’t play without rumbling on people’s heads)Cons:- Way far out from civilization; maps are deceiving

– No attendants at front desk for check in, questions, or directions No literature at desk or in room for breakfast or pool times, directions to pet relief area, anything No informational spiel or direction at check in- Have to walk through parking lot to get to pet relief area; far from building and littered with cigarette butts- Hallway and stair carpets were filthy Littered with candy and crumbs that doggies should not be getting into- Base room prices were higher than quoted when I booked on a third-party site- Hotel was packed with drunk people and families with small children Never felt comfortable walking through the loud and crowded lobby area, especially with the dogs- Pillows are exceptionally awful- Bathroom was filthy Shower was stained and creaked when you stepped in it, toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a month, and floor grout was disgusting- Elevator slow at best Malfunctioning- Microwave in room was a fire hazard Made strange noises, shut off randomly, and corner where the door meets the chamber was black and burned- “Hot” breakfast was DIY waffles and microwaves; not the standard hot trays you expect Didn’t even have fresh fruit No literature, signage, or even verbal indication of breakfast times; found online that it’s open until 10:30 on weekends, but came in at 10:06 to find room was cleaned outWish we had stayed at the Staybridge With the surprise price changes at check-in, they would have been the same price, and Staybridge looks much more dog friendly, nicer all around when we drove by, and it’s in town
