I really liked the area outside the pool with corn hole game The front desk said the cleaning staff is outsourced which I’m not sure is working well for them I’m glad we were on the first floor since I had to go to the front desk several times to get things the maid forgot to leave

On one of the days, the towels left were half dryed They were folded and on the rack but wet If I came back to the area, I’d probably look around to see what other choices there are Desk staff was friendly

When I walked in to the checkin counter the first thing I noticed was a fresh smell like essential oils The rooms we nice and clean I’m Very picky choosing hotels and I would stay here again

The breakfast was the only thing not up to par, we had to wait over 10 mins because when we came to eat at 8am there was no eggs or bacon We had to tell the lady it was empty before they started cooking more The eggs were not cooked all the way, ended up just going out for breakfast

This review is 3 months late! We had my rehearsal dinner here for my wedding in April! All the staff did such an amazing job! We had 48 people for the bridal party and family and we all fit relatively well on the outside area The food we had was Spanish style chicken or pork with rice and beans and a salad It was amazing, we even had leftovers to take home! I would highly recommend this location for rehearsal dinner, baby or bridal shower or any type of gathering under 50 people

Only wish is we would’ve had more time to enjoy the venue! Hope to stay at the bed and breakfast eventually!

It was a fairytale event!!! We used the Sparkman House Luxury Bed & Breakfast for my daughter’s bridal shower The place is incredibly beautiful and very well maintained You feel so important the minute you walk in

The owner/hostess, Theresa, was so helpful in the planning of the shower She gave us advice and helped us put together an incredible and memorable day for my daughter, from the guest list, arrangements of the tables, and an wonderful menu From the minute we walked in Theresa and the chef Serena were so helpful in moving us through the events of the day They were both so attentive to all of my guest Every guest kept telling me what an incredible place this was and that the food was so wonderful too I can’t say enough great things on how wonderful this place was and how happy my daughter was at her shower Thanks you Sparkman House for making my daughter’s bridal shower such a magical event!! If you have an event coming up and you need a great place to hold it, hands down give the Sparkman House a chance, you won’t regret it

Hayley Shields

My husband and I had a Spring wedding at The Sparkman House and it was absolutely magical Theresa made the entire process so easy and she was incredibly accommodating We planned the entire event from North Carolina and Theresa was there every step of the way to help us organize the wedding and work with us on special requests

The rooms for us and our guests were immaculate and the entire home is beautiful The floral arrangements and cake for the ceremony turned out even more stunning than I had hoped! I cannot thank Theresa enough for making my wedding so special and stress free Not to mention how delicious both breakfasts were! If you are looking for a truly 5⭐️ experience book your event at The Sparkman House!

I don’t normally leave reviews on hotels, but this hotel really went above my expectations They have all Dove products in their bathroom Full size Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower

Their blackout curtains actually work (pet peeve when hotels have them too short) Tons of outlets for both people in bedPlus the hotel appears to be completely brand new so everything is nice! Great front desk serviceBreakfast included, tooWill be staying again 👍

Had a 2 night stay and was very impressed with the great standard of cleanliness The young man at reception was very helpful full of local knowledge and arranged a courtesy bus to Ybor Breakfast was great and on day 2 even had Gluten Free Bagels which was a bonus

Florence the lady who sorted out breakfast and was always on the go cleaning could have done no more to help It’s people like her who go about sorting things behind the scenes are often forgotten So thanks Florence from David Wendy and Barbara

Bathroom was dirty with hair all over the floor The toilet had yellow stains as it had not been cleaned A tag from another guests cloths was also on the bathroom floor

The glass shower door in room 228 is off track and loose Very dangerous to shower in Woke up Sunday morning to get a shower before traveling back home and there was no hot water So we could not shower before driving 6 hours back home Cleanliness of our room was poor Will not be back when traveling for work to this location

Ashley Diner

Warning *** I’m having a “Karen” moment! LolSummary- I like this hotel, a lot in fact The service is great, it’s very clean, quite comfortable but, it’s the little things that get meA little back story, my husband and I come to Tampa once a month

We live in Miami and my husband works remotely from home The company he works for, is based here in Tampa and he comes up for his monthly engineering meetings So, we’re here…a lot! LolLike I stated before, I like this hotel The beds are some of the best! The service is really impeccable The grounds are kept nice, they have a gym and an indoor heated pool, so even if it’s a wee bit cold out you can still have some good ole Florida fun! What I don’t like, and it really chaps my hide, 🤣 is the fact that you have to OVER pay for every little tiny thing here For instance, there’s no breakfast Like not even a muffin! There is really bad coffee in the room where they give you 2 sugars and 1 little powdered creamer Some of these little packages have napkins and stir sticks, some don’t Oh, and did I mention it’s really bad…like bad badAnd I know, a lot of people are going to nitpick at the fact that I’m rating them 3 stars because of coffee and breakfast, (I told you I was having a Karen moment) but the fact remains that when I spend $412 for 2 nights at a hotel, with minimal services (because they’ve laid off the majority of their employees so they don’t have to give daily housekeeping room checks, so they can pocket more profit and blame it on the pandemic! Oh yeah, I said it, go watch Adam ruins everything about Covid and Hotels!) I do expect a muffin or at least a dang cup of coffee to be freeThe odd part is, we’ve stayed at this hotel enough that when my husband and I went to Tulsa, OK for our kiddos wedding, I made sure to look for a Marriott Courtyard for us to stay in We encountered the same service, comfort and amenities but, they served a rather large and nice breakfast with coffees, juices, milks etcBut after this, after being charged $203 for a small cup of coffee, I think my husband and will be staying at the Hyatt up the road We were staying there for a while when we were making these trips and I decided, “why not shake it up and stay at the Marriott…”I think we’ll be going back Not for nothing but, they have an enormous breakfast and coffee bar! 😉

Tamira Sallee

Check in was horrible staff was rude Room was dirty dust every where and black mold on the pictrue in the bathroom A room that sleeps 4 but they did not provide any pillows for the pull out sofa and front desk said they were out

Only one working elevator that’s really did not work it would randomly pick floors to stop on and doors would not open all the way Very much not worth $175 a night

I’ve stayed in quite a few of the hotels in this area (and pretty sure all of the Choice Hotels) and this one is definitely my favorite The price is a little steep compared to others around, but you do get what you pay for here (good) and it’s worth it, if you’re planning to spend time relaxing at your hotel during whatever you’re in town forCheck in was easy, front desk staff friendly and eager to help

Rooms are modern and fashionable, with lots of space Large bathrooms and pull out couches included in king/double rooms TV and appliances all worked without issue Bed was very comfortable and cleanAs of mid-February 2022, their breakfast is back to what it used to be, and it includes plenty of tasty hot and cold options They also have a small heated pool which I enjoyed, and a fitness center as well Housekeeping is every three nights if you’re on a long stay, and they will also bring you what you need aside from your room being serviced if you call and ask nicelyOnly picky things that I have to say is that there are no TV channel guides in the rooms and the top of the shower curtain in room 320 was torn Also no safes in rooms, but I just took valuables with me each dayI come for the state fair each year and will definitely stay again Huge step up from the Clarion Inn off Adamo (never again will I stay there) and the Quality Inns towards Busch Gardens and Ybor

Rachel S

I came to Comfort Suites to stay the night after attending the Chris Brown and Lil Baby concert at Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheatre This location is in walking distance to the amphitheater and fairgrounds! There is a little lake out front with birds and turtles sunbathing, and a small creek on the side of the hotel All of the staff I came into contact with were so sweet and had no problems answering the many questions I had

The hotel rooms are spacious, very clean, bed pillows and blankets were all super comfortable Bathroom had a great shower with a detachable shower head, good amount of towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, tissues, and the toilet paper was neatly folded which I thought was a nice touch Inside of the room there was a pull out couch, a desk if you need to bring your laptop and work, a phone, a charging block for electronics, a mini refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee pot with coffee pods, sugar, cream, tea bags, napkins There’s also a closet to hang clothes up in, with an iron and ironing board Lots of drawers to fold clothes up in This morning I went down to the lobby for breakfast, which was good They offer pancakes you can make yourself, eggs with packets of hot sauce on the side if you like some kick to your eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, toast with butter and Jelly, muffins, cereal, coffee, juices I absolutely loved this place! It had everything I needed I definitely recommend Comfort Suites! Really enjoyed my time there

Cathy Starkweather

This is a very nice hotel and clean The staff was friendly, the continental breakfast in the morning was good, not that you should expect much out of a breakfast that’s included However it is very nice to have this as an option for a quick grab and go in the morning

My son said the coffee was good! I would definitely stay here again if I were going to another concert or event at the Ampitheatre

My wife and I stay here with our toddler and furry kid They are very welcoming with pets and simply charge a minimal fee along with signing a standard agreement There’s no hoops to jump and they don’t frown upon you for traveling with them like some other places do

The rooms are clean and they offer a good breakfast just enough to get your day goingI will suggest you stay in the first floor as those are laminate flooring and definitely keep the room coolerAna/Annie is great at keeping the rooms cleans and we never have any issues with the cleanliness We even stay in the same room every time Thank you Country Inn! Jay was also great on accommodating us

Nicole Butler

Needed a hotel last minute on a busy weekend for the area so the price was higher than normal which was the case at all surrounding hotels Thankful they had the availability and online reservation process was simple and accurate Check in was easy once we arrived

With post pandemic sanitization in mind – I am demoting two stars for room cleanliness – the pullout sofa in our room was horrendously dirty and stained and I had to place towels over the arm rests to feel comfortable enough to let my kids near it They could definitely use a steam clean Secondly, the sheets on the pull out sofa appeared to have not been changed as there was what appeared to be a lower body hair stuck on there Other than that, the free breakfast was nice and we had a quiet, pleasant stay Easy, express checkout Overall, I would return and if I didn’t have the cleaning concerns I would definitely rate 5 stars

Who Rescued Who

we went to check in at 3:30pm and our rooms were not ready due to a delay in cleaning so we checked in later than night both of our 2 rooms had food crumbs on the floors, not to mention the many stains on carpet and shower curtain

we found long black hairs all over the bathroom floors we notified management 2 times and they would not offer to resolve the issue no room change, no offer to clean it up the management just writes generic responses to the reviews on here, but does nothing to rectify issuesdo not overlook the negative reviews like we did this hotel is FAR from a 3 star book elsewhere!

We had a room booked for this hotel and got notice our event was cancelled less than 5 hours before check in due to weather They had every right to slam us with an early cancellation fee even though it wasn’t exactly our fault However, the were understanding and waved the fee

We will absolutely book with them again when the event is rescheduled

Tim Rappoccio

10 pm loading a uhaul all day Just looking for somewhere nice to rest 120 a night

Website says 50 dollars non refundable pet deposit They told us 75 Plus airport fee plus city of Lakeland fee Might as well let us pay for electric and water too 260 plus extra fees including a convenience fee All we wanted to do was sleep 6 and a half hours and check out

Jessica Hall

The front fest guy was overly loud and brown nosing The pool was disgusting and a disgrace for the Hilton brand The guest were allowed to have their pizza box dang near floating in the whirlpool

Those same guest were in the pool and whirlpool with regular tennis shoes on and staff was serving them, noticing it! I was the only person with a mask on and Florida residents have one of the highest cases of Covid19 in the country! The room wasn’t as clean as overtly expressed! Hilton has really lost its touch with modernization, cleanliness perception, and representation! I truly expected better as I’ve ALWAYS bragged and prided being a HH member!

This hotel is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in! The staff was kind, the room and the pool were clean, the facilities were extraordinary, the terrace garden was amazing! It was relaxing just to sit back at the terrace in the middle of green trees and flowers It makes you feel like you’re blending in the nature and escaping from modern life chaos a little bit The hotel and the rooms smell great from the cleaning but my linen had a blood stain on it

I worked in the hotel business for some time and I know that it’s impossible for some stains to come off, but at least they could have replaced it or put the stained side to the foot level, not the face level Again, I am sure that it was cleaned because of the great smell, that’s why I am still giving 5 stars It was a great stay for reasonable price Thank you to hotel staff!

Letty Torres

The pros were : check in process was great The person at front desk is definitely a great person, very knowledgeable The pool is nice and so are the facilities

Breakfast was great as well, it is available at a cost to you Person working that area was very friendlyCons: the bed is the hardest bed I’ve ever slept on, the door seemed to have paint chipped off on outsideas if some tried to pry it open The chair in room can use updating

Marie St. Louis

The location is perfect and I felt safe during my entire stay The bar and restaurant is right there in the hotel and that made things easy when it came to options The staff was friendly and if you report an issue they try their best to resolve your issue

I wish more was done for Hilton honors members but aside from that my experience at this hotel was a good one

we booked this hotel because of the positive reviews but after getting there, it was just the opposite right when you walk in there is a musty smell that smacks you in the face- almost like cigarette smell the carpets are so old, and the atmosphere in general is just off

when we got to the room, same musty smell no towels in the bathroom, the water from the sink and the shower smelled so bad not to mention the disgusting couch! stains all over it and it was suppose to be a pull-out mattress after driving for 13 hours we were tired, so we ended up just spreading our blankets on the bed and left first thing in the morning i even woke up with a bite on the ankle would not recommend this place!!

My wife had a procedure in Tampa so we had to stay 3 days The experience was obviously stressful and a bit scary Every single person we encountered at this Embassy made this experience better

The front desk women were beyond helpful and nice The cleaning crew went out of their way to ensure our room was clean and safe before and after the surgery The cook was awesome and the lady in that area offered to fix my wife something special 5 stars and above to this team! Thank you for making a stressful experience better

Attended an awards event there Both conference rooms were well decorated and I loved that one had a sitting area Inside there is a really nice restaurant and seating that makes you feel as though you are sitting in a park outside

Catering staff was very friendly and accommodating (there was no vegan food but they made me a plate full of Romain lettuce) Guests raved about the food

I would not recommend this hotel The front desk staff is not friendly or hospitable, the hotel elevator was out of service & the one available for service needed serious improvementsRoom service staff was friendly & nice, the beds & pillows are comfortable and nice quality, and the hotel lounge area is nice

Overall it’s the poor customer service that I can’t deal with & broke/ elevator issues

Where do I start???? First, the staff is very accommodating and polite Everyone staff member I walked by said hello Which never happens much these days

The room was very clean I had a cleaning business, so I have an eye for what others don’t see and there was not one issue with my room And believe me, I check I was at the business center and overheard a customer being upset with the staff and she was so very professional I wanted to tell the guy to back off but I didn’t She handled herself and helped the customer resolve the issue It was a amazing Everyone was happy I understand that people have the “DIMOND STATUS” with this hotel chain, but the world has changed Due to COVID, everyone needs to be understanding that businesses hands are tide right now and we all, as a whole, as consumers, as people need to remember we are all in the same battle We all really need to work together harder than ever before to help businesses, whether small or large, get back on their feet, running smoothly I wish people could just be nicer Anyways, this place is amazing I loved it It was hands down the cleanest hotel I have stayed at with Marriott Definitely will be back

One of the best experiences we have had at a Marriott location The rooms were very clean and the staff was outstanding From the front desk clerks to the breakfast lady

So nice and friendly We even had a woman (I am assuming the Manager) stop by our breakfast table and ask if we were enjoying our stay Now that is true hospitality Thank you all so very much

First impression of this hotel is that it is clean and neat The reception checked us in in a timely manner The room is a bit small but again they are clean, which is really important

The location of this hotel is far from the city center, it is like hidden in a quiet office distract i will say It may not be an ideal location for vacation, but it is definitely much more quiet and peaceful than some hotels closer to the city centerHowever, there were a few things needed to be aware of First of all, due to Covid, they do not have room service We need to go to the front desk to get towels and toilet paper during the stay And since no one came to clean up, we had collected piles of carry out boxes before we checked out I think they may collect the trash during the day somehow, but there wasn’t any clear instruction for us to followSecondly, the maintenance of their room wasn’t doing too well When we just walked in, we saw the air conditioner’s cover was on the floor, the hair conditioner dispenser malfunctioned and the toilet was leaking Actually I opened up the water tank and fixed it for them Also the hand sink in the bathroom has a very weak water pressure, the water just comes out very slow And the thing that bothered me the most was the leak behind the wall or above the ceiling We can clearly hear the water dripping non stop all day The annoying dripping noise is so noticeable especially during the quiet night

We stayed here to attend a concert We had booked a king room We checked in early that morning online

It said king room When we arrived at the hotel the front desk girl was kinda short but not horrible She gave us our room, when we got to the room it was not a king 2 double beds We went back to say we were given the wrong room She said that’s what we booked We said no She basically called us liars We showed her the reservation which clearly said king Then she said something like they overbooked so we were automatically dropped to a lower room Our friends in front of us got a king and the people behind did As well We were treated horribly We had no choice but to take the room for the night We won’t be at that horrible place again Hire friendly staff

I spent 2 nights in this hotel while visiting family The mattresses, though a bit hard were fine, but the box springs on both beds must have been in ROUGH shape because they were clunky sounding everytime you moved The room was good sized and very clean though! The breakfast offerings were fine and as expected, but the whole breakfast area was kind of gross

There was no one wiping tables after guests left or wiping the counters in the buffet area! The tables were sticky from syrup, jelly, and juice and the buffet area was only lightly stocked I ended up just grabbing a waffle and some juice and eating in my room because I knew it was cleanThe front desk and housekeeping staff were all nice and I felt very safe at this location

Pros: convenient location right off I4, gas and newish Bob Evans restaurant right next door, night and morning front desk employees were efficient and friendly, bed was old and bouncy but slept okCons: room smelled of old stale smoke (especially around the a/c unit and the drapes), carpet was old and had dark dirt stains, bathroom tile grout was old and cracked, toilet seat was looseI understand the hotel is due to be renovated in a few months, but by the smell and looks of our room, this is many years past due The price point of $150 plus tax does not represent a good value

The good Check in was efficient through the Hilton app, although the digital key did not work Front desk staff was friendly and efficient in getting me keys

The room was spacious and physically clean The shower was hot with great water pressure, and it did not leakThe not so good The room decor needs updating It is dark with the color choices The bathroom had exactly 2 towels, washclothes and hand towels Ladies if you require a second towel for your hair, you will need to request in advance The breakfast was free but nothing great If you want a more filling option, Bob Evan’s is next doorThe really bad The room odor This use to be a smoker roomor someone has been smoking despite the rules not to We could not even cover it up with room spray It has seeped into the furniture and the carpet There was a cigarette burn in the sheers The bedspread had torn seams The office chair was delaminating The room chair had cushion that sunk right down on the hard frame, so it felt as if a board was poking through giving the sitter a wedgie There was no charging station options on one side of the bed, which in this century just isn’t acceptableNot sure this stay was worth the value and I am a diamond member We had reservations for 2 weeks from now for another concert event I cancelled and rebooked into Ybor City

NOT RECOMMENDED! Front staff were very nice Decent breakfast ZERO parking either of the nights

Had to park on the street a block away Shared parking lot with another hotel Front desk told another guy to park between the handicap spots Used the coffee maker for hot water and sludge came out from the previous user putting coffee grounds in the wrong spot (which meant it hadn’t been cleaned between stays) Elevator was out, we had to carry our luggage up and down three floors Toilet seat wasn’t seated properly so it slipped and clunked every time you sat on it If it hadn’t been so late, we would have checked out and gotten another room Gave them grace the first night, thought parking was a fluke It wasn’t

Had 8 rooms reserved for a business golf trip Book rooms months in advance because our golf resort 2hrs away was full for the night of arrival into Florida Was on vacation in Florida with family and called hotel 2 weeks prior to cancellation room deadline to cancel room block

Spoke to an associate to cancel the rooms The associate told me that I needed to speak to a manager to cancel the rooms I was placed on hold for 20 min Associate came back and let me know the manager could not speak to me at that current time and to call back Of course with being on vacation and doing family activities, I forgot to call back I realize that is on myself but when I realized I was charged for the room block for no showing, the manager I spoke to said they had no Idea why the associate did not cancel the rooms on the first call There wasn’t a need for a manager to cancel the rooms in the first place, all associates are able to do the room cancellations I am not looking for a full refund, but maybe just something I have requested on 4 different occasions to speak with a manager at the location through Marriott elite services but have never gotten a call back I just feel that if the hotel handled my call correctly right away, we would of had this this situation

Marriott Titanium member who travels a lot and 95% of stays are on Marriott properties Nearly never write reviews, but wish I had known this info prior to my last minute booking, without research Staff was fine, but this hotel simply does not meet Marriott standards

It desperately needs updated Dingy, worn out carpets, musky odor, everything outdated and showing its age What was presented as breakfast was sub-standard as wellAfter first night, I moved to another Fairfield (Tampa Wesley Chapel) and was quickly reminded of the dramatic difference, as the other one is modern, clean, spacious, etcI’m sure staff at the Brandon Fairfield are doing their job, with what they have, but the current state of the hotel should not be accepted as a Marriott property and I felt a review should put out there for those preparing for a stay in the area
