I’ve been coming here every year to spend time with my aunt and cousins visiting from VA I love that the pool has privacy away from the road and has a comfy atmosphere Our room had a rain shower in it, that was awesome!! The front desk lady is so nice and welcoming, she makes sure you are taken care of

They genuinely care about your stay! One thing to note is there is no coffee machines in the rooms No shampoo and conditioner, just bar soaps You are given one parking pass If you have visitors they are not going to be able to park at the hotel without a pass So I recommend having them park elsewhere in another lot nearby We enjoyed our stay Right next to the Jenkinson boardwalk, great location

Evanne Acquaviva

I didn’t actually get to stay here I had a reservation for this Friday and Saturday and unfortunately my friend had an emergency medical procedure done When I called she informed me that since it wasn’t two weeks they wouldn’t be able to reimburse me unless they were able to rent the room

She was incredibly kind and even concerned for my friend She called me Sunday night to let me know they were able to in fact rent the room and they reimbursed me all but $20 For everyone saying they are rude and unresponsive that is the complete opposite of what I just dealt with I can’t wait until my friend is better so we can stay here in September!

This place is the hidden gem of Point Pleasant Beach The rooms are clean, fresh towels, beds made and garbage cleaned out daily Jay is definitely an owner who cares about his guests and takes the time to learn your name

I stayed there twice this summer and couldn’t have had a better time with my family Parking on site, pool is crystal clear, and very quiet at night Jay takes particular care to cater to families and not a party crowd I’ll definitely be booking rooms in the future

Kendall Rienzo

I’m staying here now and it’s awesome The people that work here are very respectful and friendly! The pool is great It’s a good price for being so close to the beach and the boardwalk

The rooms are clean You can smoke out front of your room and there’s chairs out there for you, I’m a smoker and that was definitely a plus for me!The only thing that I would say that I did not like was the shower nozzle was definitely weird and also the bed&pillows are very uncomfortable but I would definitely be back !

cathy daniels

The customer service was not professional at all

the attitude of the manager was very disrespectful with an altercation that occurred on the motel premises with other guests which caused us to not feel safe that we left earlier than expected pillows were flat and blankets had stains on them Other patrons also expressed that there were bugs in there rooms

I was visiting a friend there I was actually surprised at how much nicer the rooms were from when it was The Sea Pine Much cleaner and more modern

The rooms are a lot better than some of the hotels I’ve been to in Florida that are in the heart of everything and suppose to be nice I would recommend staying here in the summer when the pool is open

Liliana R.

Don’t let the pictures deceive you The room I had was very small and dark The curtains are old and they don’t close completely allowing sun light in early in the morning

The bathroom door was not hung properly as it was very hard to close The shower area, the tub was rusty and old The pictures of the pool are true and the grounds are well kept Review your options carefully as there should be better places for the same expensive price We won’t be back for sure

Just checked in, place is a typical beach town motel Place is clean, a “critter” check before taking anything into room turned up empty (that’s good if I lost you)Pool area is busy and clean

Fro t desk was a VERY nice guy, very friendly We usually stay at another motel down here, but if this holds up, this may become our regular spotUPDATE: still excellent overall Quiet at night AC works VERY well, shower has decent pressure for a motel They have a couple grills for you to use (propane) and plenty of seating around the pool and on the second floor deckOnly criticism so far is they could use more umbrellas, or more considerate guests Some people come out early grab a prime area table as soon as the pool area is open, hang their towels and bags all over it, then you don’t see them until noonI think this will be our motel of choice moving forward

Joseph Schmoe

Why are folks whining about pots and pans! This is a Jersey Shore Beach Motel, not the Ritz Carlton or an Extended Stay Marriott Good Lord, please try to get over yourself This is one of the better places on the beach; close to everything, and great for families! I notice the fire-starters on this page are screeching on others as well – never happy and miserable

But, for the price and for a few days hanging out on the beach, it’s more fine Friendly staff, very helpful and family owned True Jersey-Shore style!!

Green Ghost

Had a prom weekend here and security and ownership were beyond nosey Obviously the rooms smelled, barely any hot water but the the fact security and the owners couldn’t respect privacy and barged into many rooms to search our belongings multiple times a day felt very intrusive I’d recommend a different motel for a prom weekend especially when they charged our grade a total of 50k for 200 kids for a few nights

I figured if they were robbing us the least they could do is respect privacy and not take peoples belongings out of their rooms

Awesome experience Nice motel and great customer service Also, in a great location

There is a grocery store just 5 minutes walk; downtown and the train station is like 20 mins walk; and the beach is like 40 mins walk I went walking to the beach and it was a really nice walk The motel is clean, and the owner is very nice, she even asked me if I need help with the luggage, I told her no, but thank you so much!

michael raciti

First off let me say this was a last minute, stressful situation that landed me at this location The staff was very understanding and actually held the room for me without a deposit!! The room was clean, fresh, and updated The noise level was a zero! Hopefully I never find myself in that situation again but if I do I will certainly come back to the Twin Oaks! My next visit will be a happy one! Thank you for everything!

Small old school motel a couple blocks from the beach! Family owned and operate They are amazingly attentive and on site 24/7The rooms are clean, simple and just send you back a few decades to simpler times

You get to borrow a beach pass and their pool is very nice and also super clean Plan on headed back

Celeste Tesoriero

My stay here was an absolute pleasure It is literally right next to the beach The room was large the place is immaculately clean and most importantly- the staff and owners- especially Sonny- were incredibly kind and thoughtful and wonderful

I had such a positive experience with my stay here and I can’t wait to return next time

Chris Heato

My daughter and I needed a local motel to stay at for a few days near a family reunion outing I was surprised to see how clean the COLONY MOTEL was, and kept in great order! Our room and bath were in great, clean condition It was at the right spot -north of the usual boardwalk noise, very quiet! Close enough to walk to the northern end of the boardwalk and beach

Owners Sonny and Ron were very friendly, and available to help you in any way They even direct traffic to help you park your car in their private parking lot! All the hanging flowers were lovely! Coffee was served each morning which I greatly appreciated! Free daily beach passes helped us greatly The saltwater pool was new and lovely, great for me to cool off in the afternoon I would highly recommend this establishment for a stay at Seaside Heights!

I stayed at the Clarion Hotel, Toms River for three nights while I was in the area visiting family The common areas and my room were very clean and well maintained There is an outdoor pool (not heated) which was nice and the outdoor furniture around the pool seemed fairly new

A hot buffet breakfast was available but not included in the rate Good breakfast! There is a nice bar that serves surprisingly good food I had a Caesar salad with grilled salmon that was exceptionally good There was entertainment (music) at the bar on the Saturday I was there Seems to attract a local crowd If you are there to sleep and are not into loud thumping bass be sure to ask for a room far, far way My room was pretty far way but it was still a bit annoying The NJ shore area is stupid expensive for hotels (one would think it was close to the beach for the price) but I would stay here again

jack brogan ig

Room was super small 2 beds that didn’t look like the sheets were changed very often Heard there were bed bugs here as well

Outdoor pool was pretty nice, but the chairs and tables around it were very poorly maintained as was the exterior siding of the building Room was very bland, boring, and the smallest TV i’ve ever seen Only nice thing was the bathroom, thank god Restaurant was dark during their open hours, and bartender was a very weird man It’s Gross A Dump Wouldn’t stay here again

Dani H.

Its actually pretty nice:Pros; Rooms were nice and clean, Pool, weekend DJ with a Bar, front desk was pleasantly nice, I would love to acknowledge Manager Liz i hope i got her name right she’s so sweet and made my babies smile with cookies she gave themCon: I had no complaints honestly I’d definitely stay again

I wish I could have rated better, but can’t This place is not kept well It need investment

This place is dirty The location is great So close to the beach and the action You can’t beat that! The pool looked nice, but We didn’t trust it at all If the room wasn’t kept well so was probably the pool We had such a good time outside, but the aura changed every time we went to the room I could not take it anymore and we left a day early Mixed feelings for sure

christine piercy

If I could do a negative rating I would DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! The box spring was absolutely disgusting! There was blood, food, dirt, unknown white “stuff” and God only knows what else on EVERY side of it! Ironically it still had a dry cleaning tag on it I didn’t have the stomach to look at the mattress

The towels in the bathroom were old, dingy, stiff and spelt like BO The washcloths we’re dirty and one even had makeup still on it The room itself was clean, the tile floors were clean and that’s literally where we slept If it wasn’t 2am when we arrived we would have left We canceled the reservation for the rest of the weekend! There was literally no parking available and we drove around the block of the hotel 3 times before calling the front desk to ask where we were supposed to park (on street parking charged by the hour) and we were told to park in the handicap parking spot even though we told him we were not handicap He said he didn’t validate parking outside the hotel lot so just park in the handicap spot The location was good, but even the staff was horrible and rude! We’re NEVER, EVER staying there again!

I booked last minute for a place to rest while spending the weekend at the beach with my daughter Mrs Liz was such a kind woman in all sense

She held the room until our arrival In casual conversation while making the transaction, I told her it was my birthday The next day I found a birthday card with the most delicious cookies on my windshield That meant the world to me- acts that makes the world worth living Mrs Liz also provided safety items for my daughter while using the pool Definitely my new place to stay every time I visit lovely South Jersey❤ Thank you Liz and Ken!! May God reward your kindness with health and prosperityLet me add that the room was cozy, super clean and it felt just like home

Kathy Guirales

We made a last minute trip to the Pt Pleasant area and we’re super lucky to find this hidden and reasonable priced gem We are a small family, just my partner, daughter and myself so we just the needed one room with two beds The rooms were very clean, had a kitchenette with working stove, microwave, cups and plates and decent sized fridge with freezer included

We wished we could stay more nights since it’s so cozy The pool is a good size and also clean There are lounge chairs, picnic tables and even a BBQ grill But what was quite a delight was the bird sanctuary/Wetlands behind the motel and pool it was super peaceful and made for a beautiful view As for things to do it’s near plenty of stores and just a 12 minute ride to Jenkinsons Boardwalk and Beach We just wanted to spend a day at the beach and boardwalk so decided to Uber back and forth to avoid parking fees and parking stress so it was just $16 each way The location is also not far from downtown Pt Pleasant with so many cute stores restaurants and bars, maybe a 10 min car ride I surely will be returning and would even love to block out a few rooms with family and friends and stay a few more days as it’s completely set up for convenience The owner Liz was also very nice and sweet

The 88 Motel was an answered prayer A clean, safe and quiet place to stay I felt like I was staying at a family home

Before I begin, I must note that this wasn’t my choice of location My husband demanded on this place First off for the price you a pay, it’s very basic, not very updated, and there wasn’t any fridge to keep drinks cold in the heat of the summer but the MAIN reason I have horrible memories of this place is because on our 3rd day the manager/owner came knocking on the door at 11:15am

Our two kids aged 4&2 were there as she begins to scream at us saying if we don’t vacate the room she was calling the cops We explained it was a misunderstanding and apologized as much as possible It wasn’t enough, she said we had 5 mins to get out or the cops were coming How about you call the room and say perhaps there’s been a mistake but you’re check out date is today Oh no, she came at us like John Wayne She was not helpful in anyway Anything we asked for or about was a nuisance for her She much really hate being there, maybe she should give up accommodations and try something less people oriented

Barely ok Can’t understand how everyone rates this hotel so highly Yes the manager is nice but rooms fall short in terms of comfort: worn sheets and lumpy, dirty pillows

Stained, worn blankets As a small, thin woman the bathroom is hardly large enough to get in, no less turn around At least the AC worked and the shower was decent

Brian Sutherland

The owners were all friendly The rooms are very clean And I’ve heard that this place is the cleanest on the island, and it truly is!! Great cleaning staff and great owners!! This place is a great place to stay for vacations, especially family vacations

The beach and the bay were also walkable from the motel! It was an excellent stay!

Pleasant or Seaside to get your fix The staff is wonderful My 5 year old locked the bathroom door twice and they were ready with the special key We will always stay here when the Jersey shore is on our summer destination list 😁

Starlight was a great beach motel for sure! Definitely one of the better ones if not the BEST I’ve stayed in at the Jersey Shore All these reviews are true, at first I was like wow

no bad reviews Lol but it’s for a reason! The pool is a great size, as the rooms are pretty big also We stayed in a two queen and a twin The room was also super clean, beds were comfortable and the ladies in the front were very friendly The only thing that we weren’t crazy about at first was sharing a parking spot with someone and having to give our keys to the desk if we park someone in however we didn’t have issues with it so it worked out fine during our trip I will definitely stay here again, Ortley is such a cute area and I definitely liked it much better than staying in Seaside for sure Thanks Ortley and Starlight for a great beach getaway! 💖🌊☀️

I came across Luna Mar completely at random and had never been to Seaside Park previously What struck me when booking was review after review mentioning how long they’ve returned to Luna Mar (sometimes multi- generations!) Prior to arriving, I corresponded with Tom and he was great answering all of my questions and accomodating my later check in

Once my family of 5 arrived, everything was perfection They truly make you feel like family Tom and his wife are fantastic, rooms cleaned daily, fresh bagels and (good!) Coffee every morning Steps from beach and comfortable walk to boardwalk and amusements Count us in as another family that will return year after year! Sarah & Luca Family

We have been coming here to stay since 2005 It is our go to They are one of the few places open all year round which makes it a great place to stay for fishing any time of the year

Rooms are clean and well equipped with cleaning service offered daily along with a smile It is close to the beach, the boardwalk, and many good restaurants There is a nice sized heated pool that makes for a relaxing afternoon There is ample parking close to the rooms that makes it easy to unpack your belongings They also do a happy hour at the bar on site where they serve good drinks at a fair price and complimentary food items such as pizza, small sandwiches, soup, mac and cheese, and many other items depending on the day The family that runs it are wonderful people who we consider friends after so many years They are very helpful and accommodating It has become our home away from home You can’t pick a better place to stay in the area You won’t be disappointed

Overall, my experience with this hotel was okay The doors didn’t work well and took a lot of jostling to open The helper, Frank(?) was a bit eccentric and gave me a strange vibe but was very helpful despite this

Their breakfast was phenomenal for hotel food, though Their pool was also great They had hot water in their showers and warm beds in their rooms I would recommend it to others but if you do go, then ask the helper before using the doors, just so you get it down

We loved this place! Yes the rooms are dated but that’s ok!! They literally went above and beyond for me and our family! We stayed from April 19th till April 24th I sent them messages asking for our room to be extra sanitized due to my son being on chemo and that they done!! They only came in for room to service it when asked (due to my son being on chemo) they made sure we had a good working refrigerator and all that! The room and beds were super clean they even gave us an updated newly painted room!! And as we was staying there they was working on getting the pool ready for the season!! My kids loved the fact that it’s only a 5 minute walk to the beach, so it wasn’t too much for my son!! That’s a PLUS!! The desk clerk’s were awesome!! They even called to check on us as we was running late to check in (traveled from Oklahoma) The only two downfalls I can express was they didn’t have a breakfast, and the elevator is super small and the doors on the elevator don’t have sensors to stop them!! But other then that this place was pretty awesome for our family!! THANK YOU WINDJAMMER FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY!!

My family and I have gone to this motel every summer for 5 yearsUsed to be so family oriented and quiet I loved the neighborhood and small breakfast spot next door

After this stay we have decided to not return, which is sadNo issues with hotel in general, accept for the fact that they used to have a coffee bar in the morning prior to Covid and have not brought it back, nor are there coffee machines in the rooms so you have to travel for a morning cup & I feel like that’s a negative for a coffee drinkerMy reasons for not returning are the place is really attracting a crowd of unfavorable peopleThe cursing and fighting is ridiculousThe maid allowed her children at the pool area where they were blasting music with curse words and gun shots in front of my young kidsJust really all around and uncomfortable atmosphere for young children and families anymore

We will definitely be coming back, it’s affordable yet cozy My wife loves it too so hopefully we can create memories here with our son as he gets older Definitely recommend the king room, only bad part about it is the stares but I’m just glad it’s clean, doesn’t smell like cigarettes, is a great size, bed doesn’t creak like crazy, it’s just right in space and feels homey

Stayed here for a few months during the winter season They basically offer it like a winter rental The motel is relatively clean

The bi-weekly rooms are very small with a small table, mini-fridge, and a microwave (no coffee maker) The bathrooms are surprisingly very spacious compared to the rooms The televisions themselves are okay but they need to upgrade to a high-definition package because it was a blurry standard definition picture that didn’t fit the screen (it is 2022) The only issue is the maids They have the most annoying maids on the planet
