Front desk check in man was nice and helpful with every complaint The hotel owners need to attend to their investment The first room we got smelled like cigarette smoke, the second room seemed fine so we showered and put our night clothes on and then discovered the AC wouldn’t work AT ALL, the third room that we were moved into the tv wouldn’t work and after looking it over we found that someone had unplugged the box and then wouldn’t work at all when plugged in

The hotel has been patched but not repaired Needs owner attention terribly!!

Margaret Wood

Had a rough check-in The keycards did not work at the first room The next room had a TV that didn’t get a signal and therefore did not work

Finally, the third assigned room was fine, however, I was pretty tired after the 6 hour drive so I was not too happy going up and down from the fourth floor two times I think I was given a ten percent discount because of the BS so it actually turned out alright The room was clean and comfortable and the rest of the stay went uneventful Coffee and breakfast was pretty good

Glenn Werfelman

The room could have been great, however one look at the floor in the bathroom was stomach turning I don’t think it had ever been cleaned I spread towels down to walk on it

The sheets were not changed I pulled back the comforter and they were not like clean sheets look like They were wrinkled and usedI used to frequent Holiday Inn a couple of times a year, but after this stay they definitely lost a customer

What a wonderful Bed and Breakfast!!This beautiful old building is a unique and wonderful experience Dot and Jules, the proprietors, were lovely; they welcomed up and provided a wonderful tour of the entire estate The interior decor is very unique

you really need to stay there to appreciate it Knowing the historical characters who walked it’s floors also adds to the special feeling of being a part of historyThe breakfast was wonderful, served in their exquisitely decorated parlor roomThe bed and pillows were also very comfortableStay hereyou will not regret such a memorable night!

Edgewood Plantation is a lovely 1849 manor house Tours are given by Dot, one of the owners, and are filled with interesting facts and anecdotes Inside the house are many beautiful pieces of furniture, artifacts and decorations

My favorite was the dining room with a variety of beautiful floral China This is a B & B also! Each bedroom is very individual with a unique, antique bed and period items Beside the house is Harrison’s Mill from 1825 We enjoyed our tour very much!

RHETT SOUTHARD

This hotel is great compared to the rest of the hotels in the area The staff was super friendly, they have a covid policy The breakfast was good, and the room was cleaned and had an awesome lay out

My only complaint would be the limited handicapped parking I had to drop my wife at the door and then park in the strip mall parking lot a few times

Andrew Bruno

The staff was friendly enough but they charged an early check in fee without a heads up What I mean by that is, we showed up early after getting a text from them that the room was ready

When we arrived, they said we would be charged an early check in fee Why charge a fee when you’re the ones telling me it’s ready? In any case, the real issue was that the first room had a cockroach in it So glad I checked in early so I could have an unclean room! They were kind enough to waive the pet cleaning deposit since we had our dogs but then they put us in our new room That had ants! So lucky! The breakfast was okay Nothing spectacular but better than the boring red delicious apple, banana, and yogurt cup I wouldn’t want to stay there again but felt forced because our options were limited having the dogs with us and my cousin was getting married that dayThey also sent my uncle to my parents room to check in by accident just because they had the same last name Not exactly confidence inspiring is it?Imagine your name is Greg Smith and you’re in the shower, and you walk out to some guy named Jeff Smith starting at your naked body? Just say no thanks to this hotel

I’m pretty shocked it said this was a 2 star hotel I stayed in it and the double bed had a couch and kitchen area Even an office desk in the room

It was a nice size and pretty clean Front desk lady was a sweetheart The hotel is conveniently located near the base, a barbershop and Dominican hair salon, and all of the food places you could ask for Can’t beat the price either The bedding and comforter made my sleep heavenly, felt great after a two day trip from half way across the US Only thing I was unsure of was if they allow pets and babies Or if they do weekly deals Enjoyed my stay here overall

Wi-Fi is too slow for online class work for the army Teams will be non-functional About 17 minutes from ALU

Rooms are very nice and well equipped, no real hotel common areas to work with teammatesNo breakfast of any sort which puts them behind pretty much every other hotelIf you have a choice between this and the Holiday inn across from ALU go with the Holiday inn

This house was a Wonderfully appointed 19th century home! Not only was it beautiful, clean, and tastefully decorated, but the ambience is marvelous Claudia is an excellent hostess, and her attention to detail is above reproach I would recommend this bed-and-breakfast to anyone who loves historical detail, but also wants a warm and welcome to stay

The rooms are very large, and the closet tub did not disappoint!

David Krivit

Really elegant and maintained home where you can just park and walk to Petersburg things to do So much space to dine in the big rooms, coffee & drinks everywhere inside, a sweet back area with tables and chairs to sip wine (complimentary) and write postcards Large bedrooms, modern heat/water

And Claudia is a warm and gracious host and chef Thanks!

The rooms could use a little updating but they were nice The location is nice because there’s plenty of stores and restaurants, it’s also close to the interstate open The first room they assigned us to already had people in it but they were really nice and fast about putting us in another room

The sink in the room was a little gross and the carpet over by the sink was dirty They had left someone’s old washcloth that still had hair on it draped over the shower rod

I stayed for 45 days and experienced great customer service The free hot breakfast was always ready The room was great, small issue with a slow drain in the shower, but was fixed fast

The free laundry service offered for service members was always done quick I was impressed that it was washed, dried and folded everytime, with nothing missing! I only gave it your hotel a 4 overall because the housekeeping schedule for stay over guest seems off I would sometimes go from Friday to Monday with no service and my room would be cleaned Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Then other weeks it was cleaned Saturday or at least offered to be cleaned Maybe it was a short staffing issue, but all the same When my room was cleaned it was cleaned very well Thank you for making my stay, stress free The location of the hotel was further than others, but I would stay there again if I come back to your city

Dennis Rothermel

Made a reservation for 5 nights through IHG needed to cancel 1st night called told no problem, checked IHG night still there Called again told night canceled no problem Called again on way down and told reservations were canceled due to not showing up 1st night

Even though they could have even took the 1st night I still had 4 more nights came 300 miles only to find no where to stay Talked to the manager who was very rude and told that because I used IHG points there was nothing she could do Ist told no rooms but if I would pay the increased amount for a race weekend she all of a sudden had a room Found a better place anyway through IHG bigger parking lot nicer rooms and a manager that knew how to treat a loyal IHG customer

The Fairfield was just as we expected, clean, friendly, having all the necessary amenities The beds were especially comfortable I liked the walk in shower; however, the door was not level and would not close completely (a maintenance issue easily fixed

) The complimentary breakfast was ample, and the seating area spacious The parking spots were a little small, so cross your fingers and hope nobody dings your car while you’re thereAll-in-all, it was a good place to stay

vinoth buddy

The hotel location is great and the room was comfy , nice and clean We went with our families on a business trip First of all there were lot of nuisance outside the hotel such as parties, bike engine reviving in parking lot so one of my colleagues checked out in mid night due to lack of sleep

My other colleague had to change rooms because of ants This is not a good hotel and I will not stay here again I definitely wish a refund !!!

Kimberly Downey

First of all, the room was clean and comfortable, just MAKE SURE TO READ ALL THEIR FINE PRINT about hiddenI thought I was staying at a decent pet-friendly hotel for “barely” one night (arrived at 9pm and left at 6am) with our 12 lb pound, well-behaved dog and the cost, with tax was $135

sounds good, right? Until I looked at what they charged my credit card when I got homethat $135 “pet-friendly” room ended up being $220, for barely 9 hours When I called to question the charges this is what I was told the following, so make sure you know in advance that:They charge a $75 pet fee It’s not a fee if there is damage, which is what most pet-friendly hotels do, it’s a set fee If I had known that, after driving for 12 hours and could barely keep my eyes open, I needed to stand there and take 10 minutes to read all the “fine print” about all the hidden charges for pets, I literally would have left The least the girl at the desk could have done was to tell me that their pet charge is $75 firm, not just if there is damage So be forewarnedyou may think it’s a pretty good deal but it will cost you VERY disappointed and will not stay there again

Great IHG in the area! Just a couple things to note! The rooms are nice and what you would expect from this brand of hotel They have been refurbished recently They also have a DVD player in the room and dvds available at the front desk

They have a good supply of stuff in their shop They have made it work with the gym… definitely not like other hotels in the chain, but the equipment is serviceable The office center and laundry are decent and functional One big downside is the lack of breakfast… but since this IHG chain is owned by another company in this area I suspect that this is why… oddly enough there is a high concentration of 420 users in the area so that smell is everywhere Also, for whatever reason there is allot of mud in the halls and around the building… over all the staff are helpful but don’t expect a lot above the typical 2 star hotel… LASTLY, there is a train that runs right behind the building every couple hours If you are a light sleeper, get a room on the other side of the building at least

This hotel is always nice and clean Housekeeping staff really shines here The rooms are outstanding! Kitchenette is great for extended stay with a grocery store next door

The beds are firm yet soft with exquisitely soft pillows 24 hour coffee, and on site Laundry From check in to check out the front desk staff are pleasant and helpful, they really shine here too! Perfect proximity to Fort Lee There is no other choice for a hotel while visiting or PCSing to Fort Lee but this one This is a 5 star hotel!

Leah Thompson

The AC wall unit didn’t work so the fan part was the only thing that we could use so it was either freezing cold or sweltering and occasionally there was black stuff that blew out of it I was up all night having to switch it on and off to regulate the temperature for my family The refrigerator made noise all night and when you turn on the water in the shower the tub will fill up completely and if you didn’t hold the handle correctly on the toilet it wouldn’t flush! Definitely wouldn’t book this place again

The only reason for the two stars is the beds were super comfortable

We have stayed at this hotel several times and enjoyed it completely This time, the toilet seat was lose However, when we came back to the room, housekeeping must have reported it because it was fixed

The breakfast which we usually enjoy was awful I ended up getting fruit and left the majority of my food on the plate I would have rated it lower but the service was generally speaking still good I know they were having staffing issues in the kitchen as is the case with many place unfortunately I do plan to stay there again

I checked-in at this hotel on Monday(16 May 22, and checked-out on Friday morning) During my check-in, I signed-up for room-service on Tuesday and Wednesday I spent the night and the next morning I went to work

Since I am an Engineer at a site which is under construction activities, I am required to use safety shoes instead of regular shoes So I left my regular sports shoes in my room in a plastic bag in which I brought my safety shoes with me from my home(I usually Air-travel to Richmond and then reach my work site using rental car, I prefer to use sports shoes since they are comfortable for lengthy walks at the airport)I returned from work on Tuesday evening and went to my room to freshen up for dinner with my colleagues I noticed that my safety shoes were missing While leaving the hotel for dinner, I complained at the front desk that my shoes were missing from my room and I was told that the matter will be investigated and it will be reported back to me I complained at the front-desk after thorough inspection of my room because I did not want to be in a situation where the hotel would end up finding my shoes from my room after my complaintI thought that the housekeeper must have thrown a plastic bag in which I left my shoes considering it was garbage without opening the bag to check what was inside of the bagThe investigation took 4 days and I was told on Friday evening (I was about to step-in to my home in Knoxville, TN when I received a call from GM) that the House-keeper who cleaned my room on Tuesday morning works there for more than 17 years and they have no reason not to trust them The Housekeeper told her(GM) that they should not have thrown my shoesNow, I have ended up losing my shoes and I was made responsible for losing my own shoes because housekeepers did not throw them away Knowing the fact that I stayed at this hotel for 22 days in the past three months and being a Hilton Honors member, I was made responsible for losing my own property indirectly I was offered a partial reimbursement for the shoes which did not matter to me because I was expecting an apology that their housekeeping did not do their job properly because of which I ended up losing my shoes, the shoes may have been something else, either valuable or something cheapConclusion: If you choose to stay here for any reason then either do not sign-up for room-service or be responsible for losing your own items because there are high chances that you will end up being responsible for losing your own item I only lost shoes but you may end up losing precious items So please think at-least twice before staying here and know the risk of staying at this hotel And this hotel has a history of people (maintenance staff) stepping-in rooms even after seeing a do not disturb sign hanging on the door, please check google reviews to verify my claim, I saw that review when I was writing this review

Astar ACM

Extremely overpriced for what you get $191 for one king size bed and two people Nothing special or spectacular about the room at all; semi-comfortable bed (definitely used), one very used desk chair, decent lounge chair with footstool, medium size TV with a difficult to use remote

No free breakfast, but you can buy it This place is 100% about how much money they can charge you I would not recommend it It is, however, set in a good location with several restaurants add Starbucks within walking distance

Great staff Decent prices Rooms are starting to show signs of needing repair

Good location to many restaurants and very close to Fort LeeOnly complaint I had is was with other guests as they seem to think they are the only ones in the hotel The people in the room above me had untamed children as they bounced and ran all hours of the night even at 200am People You need to start respecting the others guests in the hotel

Alex Portillo

I wish I could give no stars stayed here for two weeks and nothing but issues

First off the building only has one washer and dryer for the entire hotel which was an unpleasant experience Second, to make matters even worse I woke up one morning with bug bites all over my body, which definitely was bed bugs! They moved me up to another room which looked like it hadn’t even been serviced yet, but anything was better than to be one more second in that last room Third, the key cards had constant issues of not working for my room and entering the building from the back door parking area Lastly, on my last day before check out and packing my bags I realized I was missing a few items(headphones and a Xbox controller carrying case with accessories) Went to the desk asking if they had it and they said no, so I asked if I could be taken up to the room so I can look and they said two other people had stayed in that room! Which I had just left that room two nights before, therefore my assumption is they did not care about the bed bug situation, gross! If you are on travel order for military, STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

To our surprise, we found a handicap accessible room without a reservation The bathroom could use a little remodeling; however we were pleased with the bars and bench in the bathroom My mom appreciated the close proximity to the elevator

The balcony is useless overlooking a highway It is the perfect spot to smoke but the hotel does not allow that Their bistro includes a clever sustainable menu offering beer, wine and cocktails The staff is accommodating and friendly I particularly liked the noon checkout Definitely worth the couple extra dollars that is outside of our budget

Jessica Hill

My dad surprised us and drove all the way from NJ to celebrate his birthday with us in Virginia!! This location was much closer to Colonial Heights and the room was located on the LL, which gave direct access to parking, the pool, and the outdoor sitting The pool closes late at 11pm, which is great because the kids had much more time to swim I want to also add the temperature was amazing, although they didn’t have a jacuzzi the pool was warm

I loved the seating area in front, which also serves as the complimentary breakfast area Will definitely check back in the future Happy Birthday Dad!! We love you!!

Christina So

Stayed at this location for a week because of work and glad that I chose this over another hotel because it was closer to where I needed to be for work that week The front desk employees were great and when I got hungry in the evening, I’m glad they have a Bistro open so that I didn’t have to leave the hotel or order take outAlthough everything about this hotel was great there is one area that might need some improvement

Their Gym, it was smaller then I expected and barely had any equipment in there The elliptical was broken, think the AC was not working either and they didn’t have Dumbbells that were less than 20# then it jumped to like 50# so there really weren’t any in between or lighter weight I was kinda disappointed by that but I was able to find another gym close by so that was fine

Terrible Stay, Horrific Follow-Up, Wedding Party Stay DisasterReserved large block of rooms, conference room, etc as a base for guests during wedding weekend Poor communication and follow up when management changed hands to Mr

Gilbert Capate Arrived to 2BR suite Friday night, had a heavy odor like Chinese food, shrugged it off Did not appear very clean/disinfected/wiped down Shower in BR 1 not functional- completely clogged, as we discovered Sat morning- day of he wedding That left 4 adults scrambling to use 1 shower 3 of the 4 of us were in the wedding, so did not have the luxury of time Returned late Sat night, go to bed Arise early Sunday knowing the shower situation, tried to be first to the only working shower to discover it CRAWLING WITH MULTIPLE BUGS Go down to the front desk to show photos and video of said shower, to have the woman tell me “oh that’s nasty!” but there was nothing she could do since a manager was not on site So for an almost $500 hotel bill I have 4 people with no way to shower after a late night of wedding festivities We were so frustrated we packed our stuff and went home feeling gross After almost TWO MONTHS of attempting to follow up with the manager, Gilbert Capate, he emailed me that he was offering 15k Marriott points (essentially, one night at a lower level Fairfield) for my “inconveniences” This was more than inconvenience, this was disgusting! He claimed to have deposited the points into my Bonvoy account on May 2 When I questioned him almost three weeks after he claimed to have deposited the points, he went radio silent…AGAIN Finally, I called Marriott customer service, to be told he’d not deposited anything They immediately took action and issued me points and apologized for such a poor experienceManagement of this hotel is dishonest and unresponsive This place is disgusting, please, go elsewhere If you are hosting a wedding nearby, such as at The Barns at Kanak, seriously, save yourself the trouble and go with another property, even if it means a longer drive This place was a nightmare Oh, and the guests that stayed at THIS hotel? We all came home with the bonus of being COVID POSITIVE, 45+ people

Room 412 : yuckI am very shocked and surprised honestly The room itself when you enter felt fine but the bathroom!! What happened there? I put three pictures to explain my doubt about being clean For some guests it might not be a deal breaker but for me it is because then I have unease about the whole room

At $200 the night, I am quite disappointed1) when I arrived the shelves above the toilet had dust — I wiped it and moved on but the mirrors were dirty, the shelves next to the mirror had some kind of spit consistency and worse of all Intake my shower and find on a mat a piece of what looks like food (maybe bacon)
