Room selection was poor Was over priced, compared to what is shows for online deals There were dead bugs on the floor

Then it wasn’t quiet either People sitting in loud cars and playing music loudly tooThe location was the only real good thing Your close to the highway and other accessible roads Overall 15 stars

Nathan Lanham

Don’t! Just don’t! Noisy, run down and poor service! The beds were the ONLY decent thing about the room! Hole in the curtains and comforters

Carpet and furniture is horrible Dirty! Bottom of the tub is black, bathroom light switch has a short, and the toilet seat is some how smaller than the actual tiny toilet! Small TV with a remote missing the battery cover and the power button doesn’t work! And when the TV is padlocked to the wall you know you are in a bad area! They required a $100 deposit but the entire room isn’t worth $100! Currently in a really bad heat wave and they can’t be bothered to get the pool in working order! And no breakfast either! Just stay away!

We were able to check in early And the lady at the front desk said the room is clean but the pillows aren’t in their yet and she would get them in their while we were gone When we got back to the room at 1am mind you, their was no pillows

The employee working at the front desk was refusing to give us pillows When we FINALLY got the pillows, they had no pillow cases on them It was close enough to the stadium Probably the only benefit for this location Half the outlets didn’t work and the only thing they could do for us for our poor visit was give us a discount on our next stay We will NOT be returning to this location unless we have NO other option

A good location south of the WW1 memorial Walkable to downtown, but Union hill is a high point, so be prepared! Entrance is tough to find, especially if the parking lot is busyHotel was OK

Room was clean and beds were comfortable Bathroom tub needed some work and some wall paper was peeling, but otherwise a nice room Our second floor room wasn’t connected to the lobby by hallway, we had to exit the building and go outside, through the car port to get back in I believe the third floor is connectedBreakfast is A plus, as it is with most Fairfield properties

Hotel was pretty decent Stayed in 234 It is 2 separate buildings so we were in the building that didn’t have the front desk, pool, or breakfast area

We ordered pizza delivery from down the street and the delivery person didn’t even know that it was a hotel Not sure if it changed from something recently or she was just oblivious There currently is a TON of construction up and down Main St You will have to drive over some steel plates to get into the parking lot A bit scary, but those plates probably weigh more than your vehicle Pool was nice and breakfast was pretty good as well nothing to complain about except, and I’m guessing this is a norm from the area hotels, we found some lego’s on the floor Leftovers from travelers visiting Legoland I’d assume Hopefully my kids didn’t leave any behind

The Candlewood Suites Independence MO is in a nice quiet location away from the street Hotel appears to be relatively recent construction and was in really good shape Parking lot was fine and the whole place had a safe atmosphere

My room was immaculately clean from one side to the other The layout was great and all appliances were in great condition TV was larger than most hotels offer The bed, pillows, and linens were as comfortable as you can getBathroom was also great very clean Phenomenal shower headStaff was exceptional, most accommodating and professionalMy only gigs: There is an exhaust fan that runs 24/7 in the bathroom that has no switch And mine happened to have a slight whine that was very annoying and audible when the AC was not running Also, by the lobby in the commons area where there was coffee and foods for sale, it was in need of counter wipe downs and trash removal both times I visitedI would not hesitate for a return visit Great experience

Ed Austin (ShadowWolf180)

When visiting the area near Worlds of Fun, there are several hotel/motel options in the immediate vicinity; namely due West of the amusement park across Interstate 435 on Randolph Road/Corrington Avenue Going back some 15 years ago, many of those options weren’t bad at all, with one or two higher-priced optionsFast forward to 2022, and some of the motels are turning into places were the homeless or less fortunate live all the time

So finding a decent stay in that area is actually quite challengingFortunately, this hotel is still holding true to being a quality place to stay, and at a reasonable price The Staff are friendly, and the hotel is clean The rooms are what you expect with the normal amenities (TV with cable, coffee pot, etc) Access is through main doors to help with security This is a plus given the locationThe only thing to be concerned about (and honestly this is not the fault of Super 8) is the deterioration of the surrounding area Again, other motels very close by are not the basic bargain motels of yesteryear, instead hosting recent crimes as stand offs, assaults, and theftsMy wife and I were hosting our oldest son, his wife, and our grand daughter for a weekend We live close by, so we wanted them to be close by as well Given our local knowledge we had to do our homework and go through the reviews of all the hotels there and found this to be the best We weren’t disappointed, and neither was our son and his familyIf you are planning a visit to say Worlds of Fun and want to stay very close to the Park, this is really your one good option without paying absurdly high prices or settling for a 15+ minute commute from the Park to your hotel

The lady at the front desk was awesome, she gets 5 stars! the only reason I gave 3 stars is the jacuzzi had 15 spots were the coating was chipped off and the shower had 1 spot that was chipped off Since the jacuzzi is made of fiber glass underneath the coating, we didn’t get a chance to use it, I didn’t want to risk getting literally getting covered in fiber glass Other then that the room was really nice, and for the price it couldn’t have been better

I’ve paid more for a room without a Jacuzzi that wasn’t as nice as this one, and couldn’t hear other people in there room untill they open there door So the sound deadening was remarkable I’d stay there again if they fix the jacuzzi

Brandi Moss

This place was horrible First off you must have a credit card and an id that matches So you can’t use your husbands credit card with out him

Secondly our bed was broke and my son cut his hand on it when the bed slipped off and he fell The rooms were musty and moldy smelling The door frames were all bent like someone had tried to pry the doors open The lock on the inside was broke The gentleman that checked us in was hateful The only positive thing was the beds were comfy, but super small they are only a full size bed

Along with her numerous other shady business practices and endeavors, Elsa is a true professional in the way that she takes advantage of good, well meaning people in addition to exploiting her hardest workers for everything they have She is kind to people who she feels can benefit her and once she no longer feels they have anything to offer her she behaves in ways that can only be described as vindictive The hostel itself is very clean thanks to the people she exploits and the beds are comfortable

A great hostel for a very brief stay but I cannot in good faith recommend staying for any extended period of time

Richie Redpill

I booked there and they were closed but the lady decided to pet me stay there for free I thought that was nice but I quickly realized what was going on There us a man staying there for free and first thing she said about him was that he would be kicked out soon

I can see that she thought I was down and out because I drove an old van and looked a but run down myself What she realized is that I’m not broke and am not trying to live for free so when I asked to stay another night and pay, she said “You have to pay for 2 nights” and then asked me some inappropriate questions because I can assure she thinks I am involved with illegal activities LOL She wants to think that So just a heads up It is a nice location but this woman is a narcissistic of the worst kind She tells you how horrible human beings are That’s all you need to know

Stayed for one night and I would absolutely stay again Beautiful, clean accommodations The bedrooms are immaculate and the beds are very comfortable and clean

They provide sheets, pillows, towels The bathrooms are very clean There are two showers and two bathroom stalls that are shared between men and women on the same floor But provided the place isn’t packed, it seems to be enough Two great big friendly dogs will greet you at the door and bring their toys and kisses There is a bit of parking in the back which I would highly recommend because although the house is beautiful and a wonderful place to stay in Kansas City, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy so I wouldn’t recommend walking around at night But if you drive in, absolutely stay here! Also the hosts are absolutely the best!

Last weekend was our first experience here and we loved it My wife and friends are from the Independence area but had no idea this area existed The wines were great and the staff were warm and nice

We also met one of the owners and she was engaging and made us feel welcome Glad to hear that they’ve been in business for 12 years too We’ll be back again!

My wife and I visited Sat 7/28/18 It was my first winery visit

Surprisingly I actually really enjoyed it Everyone there was super friendly We stayed the night at the bed & breakfast and had an amazing evening chatting under their lit up gazebo Didn’t bother turning on the music they had, as we enjoyed the sounds of the country & each others company The room (master suite) was very nice I will say, the Angel pictures & wallpaper weren’t my favorite theme but didn’t effect our stay in the least Amazing two headed shower & great breakfast provided by Al & Bonnie Al is a Vietnam vet and so we enjoyed a great breakfast conversation as I’m an Iraq vet They showed us where and how they make the wine before we left the next morning Great time, highly recommend

Shelby Baker

Wonderful experience! The couple in the tasting room taught us a lot about their wines and we got to taste their entire long list for $5 Once you’ve found your favorite (there are plenty of dries, sweets, and semis), there are excellent indoor and outdoor seating options Outside, there’s a beautiful pond and vines as your view

We will be back!!

One night stays at hotels are me and my husbands regular getawayThis was so much more than a regular getaway The inn is tucked away downtown independence right next to the most unique shopping – a simple google search of the area does not do it justice

It deserves a stroll down the strip The sweet manager of Ophelia’s (I’m so sorry I forgot your name) upgraded us to a suite and chatted with us about what to do on the square We chose to dine in at the restaurant downstairs and it was delicious I would have never anticipated such beautiful food Never more have I been more welcomed and so surprised of the hospitality of independence Staying here has forever changed our plans for future getaways -Just two hard working kids

B. MIchael McFarland

Such a delightful find during our visit to Independence The whole historic area is filled with wonderful businesses, and we settled on Ophelia’s for lunch Each of us was very satisfied and, honestly, surprised by the freshness of the food

This is a restaurant that could compete with ones in much larger “foodie” cities The service was top notch as was the decor Don’t know when I’ll be back in Independence, but I’ll visit Ophelia’s again

Amy Frusha

My salmon was seasoned well and cooked perfectly The snap peas were tasty

I just prefer steamed but did not ask how they were prepared Caesar salad would have been so much better if they had used half the amount of dressing Im not a fan of soggy salad But again, that’s just me Service though was impeccable Very attentive and friendly Very clean They’d added outside seating since I was there last and it was very inviting

Stayed here for convenience of price but felt with $126 and a $100 deposit it was not even close to worth that The front desk employee was not friendly and appeared to be annoyed at helping Toilet wouldn’t flush, had to ask for a plunger

Still had trouble with it flushing The water never got hot and after one shower the next shower was ice cold Went to use the sink faucet to brush teeth and didn’t have any cold water only warm Just overall not happy with the quality with what we had to pay

Joshua Johnson

The hotel is nice, but don’t expect to use any towels or wash rags and get your deposit back I’ve stayed here multiple times, and the checkout process feels more like a Boot Camp barracks inspection After you turn your key in, you have to wait for a housekeeper to go inspect the room

Then she notified the front desk of any issues In my case, a wash rag was soiled and there was some dirt on the comforter I was told that the replacement cost of the wash rag and the comforter would be taken out of my $100 security deposit, however, if they were able to get them clean after washing them I could come back and get the remainder of the deposit It’s a good thing I lived locally I can only imagine how someone who lived out of state would have handled being told to come back Anyway, I called back later that day to see what the verdict was and I was told that the housekeeper who cleaned the room was gone for the day and that I could call back in the morning I called back, was basically told that they still hadn’t been able to check with her In the end, I called four times and never got my money back I decided to go to the hotel to pickup a washrag and a comforter since I had paid for them

Prime TV

I’m a Wyndham employee giving an honest review The hotel location is wonderful Next to a gas station and good food

There are not any complaints about this Front desk girl was kind and had a smile on her face She was conversational and helpful Overall the staff was a 5/5The hallways were quiet and we had no issues with any of the rooms or noise around us The towels were clean and the room was clean Upon entry the heater was running full blast, which at first scared me I turned on the AC unit and the room cooled down over about 10-15 minutes That night the room became cold (i like this actually) So I know that regardless of how you like it, hot or cold the heating/cooling unit worked wellThe only real complaint was the carpet was old and the hotel seemed like it was time for an update Again, the rooms were clean There was no smell Our beds were made and there is no complaints against the staff I just think this location needs an upgradeAll in all a great value Cheap, Good staff, clean rooms

Rented 2 rooms that sleep 6 , it only had 3 towels in each room The front desk refused to give us any more towels I suggested he get some from a room that was empty

He refused that suggestion and began yelling during the refusal I then informed him it was a room that slept 6, meaning it was 3 towels short, yet again he yelled at me the more We had a good experience at this hotel last time but we will most certainly not be returning The excuse is that they are remodeling but they have been remodeling since our last visit 2 years ago It has improved some things but others are even more run down And not having enough towels was just ridiculous and the yelling at the guest was uncalled for to be sure I don’t yell at anyone and don’t expect to be yelled at either

Cathy Watts

I booked the room for my cousin’s and I because we were there for our uncle Vince’s funeral, The room itself didn’t have a pullout couch like promised so my cousins kid had to sleep on the floor and the doors to get into the building didn’t work with our room cards and only one key worked for the room, we had the sweet girl at the front desk fix the cards to no avail! Not to mention the two rooms with the dangerous rooms signs, definitely wasn’t worth $146 for a night in a hotel that was run down! Your website is deceiving because what I got wasn’t what I paid for!

Submersible Men

Pros: friendly staff and quiet hallwaysCons:Everything in our room was covered in rust (fridge, towel racks, hair dryer, etc)

The AC unit in the room blew horribly smelling mildew humid air It needs to be cleaned and rechargedCarpet turned our clean socks brown from just walking around for a few minutes It clearly has not been shampooed in a long timeToilet barely flushedLeather office chair was ripped open Breakfast is literally those frozen breakfast sandwiches you buy at a store and have to warm up in a microwave But they do provide oatmeal packets, some muffins, yogurt, and applesBed sheets were mostly clean but we had ants on them when we first got to the roomTheir pool and gym are closed down and they do not plan on opening those amenities upThe impression that I get from this place is that it was once a nice brand new franchise hotel (based off of the original photos they are still using on Google) However, being located in the ghetto it probably closed down and was bought by a mom and pop that are trying to use stuff left behind and furnished what wasn’t left behind with second hand rusted/torn equipment Basically it appears that they are merely doing the bare minimum to keep it runningUnfortunately this was cheapest option we could find a day prior to our arrival near downtown KC Date of stay was June 2022

The front desk attendant was super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly We got all checked in very late at around 3 am The customer service was great as he solved a booking issue for us without any hesitation

The rooms were nice and clean and they had decent tv channel selectionI got a room with two queen beds Each bed has 4 amazing pillows However, I’d say the beds were kinda hard and the blanket they used as a topper was a super rough texture They had a very large selection of food for breakfast and it was a nice surprise I will say that I got there right at 6 am and my gravy was kinda coldAll in all, my 2 day stay was pretty good Kinda on the pricey side for my liking, but still, it was a nice little get a way I would book here again in the future if I ever need a room out that way

Jackie Webb

The room was fine Standard hotel room The only issue I had was when I tried to get a later check out

In the past they have let me stay till one with no problems, even when the hotel was full for that night When I asked today they said they were full and to even stay till noon I had to be a rewards member But when I was in the lounge area waiting for the rain to stop, they were still checking people in who didn’t have reservations? Just a little surprised since I’ve been allowed to stay late before

Amber Lee

Really only one thing that made me select good, instead of great

HUMID ROOM There was even a dehumidifier in there to try to keep the moisture down That made the room quite musty smelling Not sure if all rooms are like that But 316 sure was! Great breakfast, cute lobby area with tons of seating, nice staff, pretty clean facility, definitely quiet location, good price for what we got, bed was decent Pillows, not so much

II traveled from Florida and needed a place to stay for 4 days Check in was a breeze the desk attendant was very polite and friendly I was thoroughly surprised as my room was absolutely spotless I stated to one of my children that I’ve never seen such a white tub in my life lol

During my 4 day stay I had no issues whatsoever I met 2 of the office attendants and both were very very friendly Did not have any experience with the laundry and lounge area but both areas looked clean I know that I seem to use the word clean an awful lot but that is the number one Thing I look at when I am looking for a place to stay The parking lot was very well lit and I spotted several of the cameras I felt very safe in the area the bed was super comfortable and all of the towels an bedding were in like new condition I did not use the stove or microwave as I did not need them but the refrigerator again was spotless I would recommend this hotel in a minute If ever back in the Kansas City area I will be staying here again

After the longest, hottest day driving w two little kids…to find this gem on a whim was the best!!! Jackie and the front desk is the sweetest, most professional person I have meet in so long Good customer service is so rare nowadays, and she went ABOVE and beyond to make us feel “at home” My Place Hotel I hope you know what an impeccable representative you have greeting your guests! I am a loyal My Hotel fan now and will be staying at them our next two nights on our trip!

S G

Gushing reviews for this place MUST be fake! First, this hotel is an “economy extended stay “(says this right on the sign),had I known this I would have never booked it but since it was $140 a night I thought can’t be that bad Well, this place is run down (starting with the dirty/worn carpet in the lobby), rooms aren’t horrible but are quite humid and uncomfortable as the a/c units aren’t great But mostly the area feels sketchy

I felt very uncomfortable with my packed car parked in the lot overnight after I saw some men just loitering Can’t believe I paid that much for this place that doesn’t even offer free breakfast The staff was friendly and can’t help that this place is low-rent
