The staff was extremely sweet I would give the staff 5 stars However, the quality of the rooms and the building itself is not up to par

The fire alarm went off every so many minutes The floor in the room was sticky, it had a weird smell, and the rack to hold the towels was broken in the bathroom There were brown stains on the bathroom ceiling Quite frankly, the room didn’t really look clean

A HK

This hotel is a horrible experience! It is advertised as clean and comfortable, but in reality, it is the opposite Oh boy, this is the dirtiest hotel I have ever seen! The kitchen drawers are full of garbage and messy Bathrooms are moldy, with yellow stains, and gross

Bed sheets are gray Red stains on the carpet that look like blood! I was shocked as I entered the room Unfortunately, I booked it through Expedia, where I saw a lot of good reviews, which tricked me into being nice and clean rooms as advertised Please do not fall on good reviews as they don’t represent honesty and truth When discussing with the manager, she said red stains on the carpet can be something else and not blood! She didn’t even question that there were red stains on the carpet Not a place for a family or kids

thinknic

Drove 10 hours across the country only to have my reservation cancelled with no notice as I pull into the parking lot They were “overbooked with maintenance issues” Extended stay America took my reservation, but left me with no place to stay in a city I’ve never been to

Don’t let this happen to you, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EXTENDED STAY AMERICA

This is a very nice park The management is great and extremely helpful and accommodating in every way The entire staff is friendly and professional

They keep the park clean and grounds/landscaping is well kept Laundry room was always clean Looks like they provide lots of summer time activities for the kids, bounce houses and slides I would definitely return if back in the area and would highly recommend staying here One small thing there is the gun club next door but it never bothered me where they put me as a long term stay As for me it was no reason to take away any stars STILL A 5 STAR RV PARK!Thank you Mrs Marta and your staff for making this a very comfortable stay and hope to return again!PS Not sure why anyone would give this place anything less than 5 stars

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend They put us in the back, older part of the park, which was nice because we had tree shade The staff are very friendly & extremely attentive

The only issues we had were our satellite never worked, even on our roof The cell phone coverage (at & t) was very poor If you need to work or stream, you have to pay for their “better” internet The laundry was sufficient, didn’t utilize the bathrooms The pool was not open & not sure when it would be We would stay here again but we would probably want to be in the front, newer part for better reception

Ione Hoy

There was complete false advertising done by this campground Don’t show off pictures of your beautiful pool if it’s under renovation and closed Don’t say you have a volleyball court when you just have 2 poles and no net

Even the ground we were on was not level so it felt like we were sliding in our tent each night I will say that the bathrooms were clean and were nice and air conditioned

Breakfast

I’ll come back to that 🙂 Staff that greeted us about 10 pm was cheerful and helpful Room was clean, in good order, well supplied, comfortable A/C worked very well Keep in mind that this doesn’t pretend to be a luxury hotel, and they don’t charge luxury prices It was quite reasonably priced compared to other local options Morning staff was also cheerful and helpful Breakfast bar was amazing! Great selection of appealing food! I normally just go for a hard-cooked egg and waffle (in spite of the usual mess) The sausage patties were excellent! My husband liked the eggs, biscuits, and gravy, too Sweet rolls were fresh Breakfast bar was checked, cleaned and re-stocked regularly Even the waffle maker was kept clean! We liked it so much we stayed again on our return trip a couple nights later 🙂

For what it is—a two-star hotel—the Baymont Des Moines delivers on expectations and more There are numerous amenities from a heated pool and hot tub to a generous breakfast spread (the pancake machine is worth it alone) There’s also a game room and a very well appointed arcade even

The front desk staff is friendly and helpful Although the decor was dated, my room was clean and comfortable Definitely recommend, especially at this price point and convenient location to the airport

Disruptive Technology News

We only stayed one night but our check in with Mary was awesome she was super kind and made sure we had everything we needed so that was cool The room was clean except for a dead fly under one of our pillows but they did say the room hadn’t been used for awhile We checked out with Ashley and either she just lacks personality and friendliness or she was having a bad life but if she’s a manager you may want to rethink her position there

Everyone at this hotel use to be so kind and friendly Thank goodness Mary was working at check in because I would’ve stayed somewhere else if it had been Ashley

I’ve ordered a bunch of different gluten free items from Thistle’s Summit at Christmas & Easter, (lemon blackberry tart, carrot cake, mint chocolate tart, gingerbread cookies, etc…) But hands down the best is the OCP (oatmeal cream pie) I buy by the dozen because they freeze so well I have celiac and it’s nice to have good quality dessert options

Very excited for them to have a store front so I don’t have to track down all of the coffee shops that stock them!! Truly a 5 star gluten free bakery!!

Service was excellent and personalized It is nice when treated as a person not just a jobRoom was nice and clean

Pleasantly surprised to find usb charging portsFree breakfast was the best I’ve ever had with any free hotel breakfastI would most definitely stay here again and will look for Wyndham owned places on future vacations

Elizabeth Watnem

The hotel itself is amazing overall The room was newly renovated and very clean The free breakfast had lots of options and was the best hotel breakfast I’ve seen

The pool was nice and the outdoor area was very nice However, every single employee I interacted with was really rude When I checked in, the man just said “credit card, ID” He didn’t tell me about the room location, pool hours, wifi info, or anything else Very few words Then when I checked out, the heavy set female was really snarky We left and went to a different hotel for our 2nd night and probably won’t be back here solely based on the employees attitudes

We just had a block of rooms at this location for our son’s wedding I can’t find enough positive things to say about our experience The manager and her staff were amazing! Our rooms were clean and all pre assigned to one half of the hotel, the lobby meeting room was a great gathering space for family and friends, the pool was clean and fun for family, and the service was outstanding

The manager came in over the weekend to ensure all was going well and to help with the large group I highly recommend this hotel!

I’m in between on if this deserves the full 2 stars! The staff were excellent, friendly, and attentive, but busy They do deserve the full 5 stars However, the rooms/amenities do not

I’ve stayed in “discount” hotel chains that are nicer/cleaner than the Stoney Creek was First the room – we just had a basic king size room, they were spacious The bed was comfortable, and the pillows/linens were too However, the cleanliness of the rooms was lacking Our comforter had a couple stains on it The main garbage can still had some papers in it, and our bathroom had crumbs in the toilet paper dispenser area Not to mention we only had 2 towels in our bathroom upon check-in With that said, we simply needed a place to sleep and we were able to do that The walls are pretty thin, and the hotel was packed The pool area was simply disgusting There were so many people in that area, and it was absolutely freezing cold That might be fun in the summer but a cold Iowa spring and it wasn’t conducive to swimming Which made it so that the hot tub area was packed of children, and less than bathwater warm I spent all of 5 minutes in the area and it was more than enough, my husband and son stayed awhile longer but my son froze the entire time I’ll assume it’s a bit warmer when the outdoor (connected pool) can be utilized But they should note that the indoor pool isn’t heated for those staying in the winter/colder time of the year The halls were outdated, and dark, but the hotel was large The breakfast was decent They had a few options, and they kept it clean despite how busy the hotel was All in all, it’s definitely a bit more run down and pricey than other hotels in the area

Bridgette Wiggins

After a long day of travel we were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile Despite a hiccup beyond her control, the woman at the front desk was patient, understanding and worked diligently to help us to get checked in The hotel itself is excellent

Lovely accommodations and a clean room were a welcome respite for us weary travelers We will make a point to come back here Highly recommended

Kayla Van Gorp

We booked 2 nights in one of the family suites with a bunkbed! The room was great, exactly as pictured on the website Very clean and the kids loved the bunkbed! The pool looked cooler online than it was in person It was also very small compared to what I was expecting based on pictures

The whirlpool was also down for our whole stay which was disappointingThe breakfast setup was very nice, something different each morning we were there There was an automatic pancake maker which was very neat and actually very tastyWe would definitely stay here again!

Nice hotel Reasonable rate Friendly check-in person

Good location Near several restaurants and some shoppingIf it matters to you, there is no hot tub Workout center looked nice; I didn’t use itI would stay here againReally liked that the decaf coffee gave three choices in strength I think the regular did too(I rarely give a five star as I see that as exceptional)

We had to go to a funeral in Des Moines and this is what we chose It was quite at night and it had restaurants across the street The room was very nice and the pool area was nice sized for the kido’s and adults to use at the same time

The only thing I was a little unhappy with was the breakfast the next morning Not much available at first and it was all cold I arrived about 10 minutes after my husband and brother-in -law, and they were sitting and eating a bananna and cold cereal because the eggs were ice cold A little later they had cheese omelets available which were good They also didn’t have decaf coffee available which is all I can drink It sure would have tasted good with my eggs

Nicest RV park in have ever been to The owners are great and I can’t recommend this place enough! Top notch grounds maintenance with a playground and two ponds They have two laundry and shower buildings both are in great condition and they even have a small gym in one of them

My favorite part was the location, it’s close to everything you could possibly need but it’s on the outer edge of town so it’s really quiet and peaceful

Belinda Andrews

1 star We waited 2 months to get in we were told we could stay unlimited days we were here for work Spent 3 to 4 hundred on making our spot a little wider

6 months later we had letter on door that we had to be out by 4/30:2022 Several campers around us got letters to some came for work not even 2 months and they had to leave 3 wks early than we do It’s all about greed she can get people every night and make more than the workers pay for a month but very nice place with laundry and walks well kept But you can not depend on her word and it’s hard for workers to load up and set up some were else it’s a move that takes days to get ready It’s a 2 star place

Rooms are spacious and nice Place is clean The kids in the pool area were out of control

I know the hotel can’t put a lifeguard but maybe drop in and keep unattended kids in line My only issue with this place is the terrible shower Hardly any water pressure and our knob was broke The breakfast is t something you want to plan for if you are hungry Basically, it is a waffle maker and a few choices like cereal and yogurt

This one was a little hard to rate The ladies at the front gate were very pleasant and helpful At first they put us in an area with permanent campers very close together an with old trailers , we asked to move and the lady was very helpful

The sites by the large Pond had plenty of room between trailers The rest were a little to close together If someone would have pulled next to us their sewer hose would have been next to our picnic table I found it laking in maintenance Nice trees everywhere but It’s Next to the Hwy noice constantlyIndoor pool heater not working, hot tube not working, sauna also not workingrestaurant only open Fri,Sat,Sun Food was below average
