Our stay at the Fireside Inn and Suites at Lake Winnipesaukee was wonderful! The staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating Our room was quite spacious and very clean and the property was well kept up It is close to all the local attractions and Sawyers across the street serves the best ice cream

They have a nice “grab and go” breakfast with plenty of choices like cereal, pastries, oatmeal, juices, coffee and breakfast sandwichesSmall area for improvement: The pillows were a bit small and lumpy I might recommend a better quality pillow I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone

Fireside Inn is a pleasant place, we came without a reservation and received a very warm welcome The front desk lady Elaine kindly showed us the room and made us feel very comfortable The room itself was cozy, with a gas-burning fireplace which looked beautiful and actually provided nice heating

We came to the area for Gunstock mountain skiing and the hotel was a good easy-drive base for itThe room had a coffee maker and a mini-fridge, we only wished for a tea cattle, next time we will bring our ownI also loved their swimming pool and the hot tub, which work till 10 pmThe breakfast is grab&go Maid service is on requestOverall, a good choice for the location

Birch Knoll is a hidden gem! Spent a long weekend here for a concert and was so pleasantly surprised, I can’t wait to come back The owners Michael and Janet are warm, welcoming, and helpful! The room was spacious, clean, and very cool even on the second floor in late July thanks to the new AC Plus parking was ample and never an issue

We went to the Pavilion and got back in record time after the concert because it’s so conveniently close Plus, the new dock and beach are gorgeous and the perfect way to relax on a hot summer day Even though it’s a motel, I wouldn’t call it one because of all the updates and amenities! This place is truly magical, it seems frozen in time Environments with attention to detail, thorough cleaning, comfortable bed, fantastic location and first and foremost the sweet and caring hostess Janet, made us feel at home There is no breakfast, but Janet has taken care of a corner dedicated to coffee, where in the morning you can enjoy with muffins, fresh fruit on the table or the porch where you can sip coffee while enjoying an enchanted view of the lake

We will definitely be back and anyone who wants to experience this magic should not miss the opportunity to come Thanks Janet, we’ll see you again soon Sandra

Stayed here for a night to go to a concert at the Big House Had a nice conversation with the owner when checking in Super nice lady who if I remember correctly didn’t like the area when she first visited but has been in business now for quite some time

The view from the outside deck was probably the best view in the area and a great place to relax

SeabeeErik

The wifi didn’t work, the people at the pool complained about it being dirty but we didn’t see it until we got in and got right back out Also the bathroom was not enough space for me to even stand up There was no one to be seen at the desk morning or noon or night

No continental breakfast or snacks at the coffee Very very poor cottages But the view was nice Had an A/C unit the size of a tiny microwave and didn’t cook room sufficiently Steer Clear and look for other locations Also you’ll never meet anyone at the office

Stayed here for 4 days in August The room was large and clean, and the air-conditioning was very welcome – we came during a heat wave The indoor pool was a plus! It was so nice to be able to cool down, did I mention it was hot outside? The breakfast was okay, our kids loved the automatic pancake machine! The staff was very friendly and accommodating with our kids

They went above and beyond to help us find another room to extend our stay! Thank you, Julie! My only real dislike was the habit of some employees to sit on a bench in front of the main entrance and smoke under the awning It’s not a good look and smells even worse, especially when they light up right in front of the entrance Not a great first impression for an otherwise enjoyable experience

Nathan Santos

I had to stay here due to the February 2022 blizzard I came up to New Hampshire for snow days and tubing opportunities Because of the blizzard, I had to stay another night at a different hotel (here)

So, this hotel wasn’t the baddest stay The swimming pool was small, but just for a night so I didn’t think it would hurt Comfortable bedding and pillows for sleeping purposes The view wasn’t the best, because it was just the roof We just had to stay in the area for one more night so it was fine

Tamara Snyder

Excellent stay! Clean, spacious studio suite, 2 queen beds, sofa, large bathroom Seemed brand new Greeted warmly by Neil & Emily at check in

Check out with Emily was a breeze Quiet nights sleep Breakfast was good with automatic pancake maker and area was clean Good luck at college in the fall Neil, hope you have a great experience in Pennsylvania!

Perfect place for a short getaway with my pup Being able to bring my dog was a plus for sure The room had the basic necessities and a powerful AC

If I come back I would just bring an extra blanket, we ended up turning off the AC at night There was a really nice breakfast spread and coffee, water and snacks available all day any time The woman who checked us in was super sweet and told us about the private beach across the street Would definitely recommend for a cost effective, nice, cozy getaway

Crystal Z

Such a cute place with friendly staff! The couple in the office were very welcoming and they set up a nice beverage/ snack area and breakfast items in the morning The area was quiet when we stayed but we only stayed for one weekday night so I’m not sure how it would be during peak summer days as it is next to a busy road Plenty of seating outside with a nice view of the lake across the street

We didn’t go over and check it out so I’m not sure about swimming The room wasn’t perfect (splintering wood by the shower with wood pieces on the floor and a stain on the comforter) but overall fine and comfortable I would stay here again!

Danielle Dunbar

If you book through third party app tell them and if you paid through site also tell them They did charge my husband but then a super duper helpful lady reversed it no problem They have nice breakfast of fresh donuts, danish, bagels, English muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal

There is also a snack area with coffees and water stocked up with chips and candies available outside of breakfast hours It really felt a lot more like staying with friends once we got the check in over with They were also super kind to my children Views are nice Room clean Sufficient smoke and carbon monoxide detectors Felt very safe

A cockroach appeared on our bathroom wall The king-sized bed sagged in the middle and pinched your neck The bathroom sink drain was not connected to the plunger so you had to reach around the back of the sink and manually depress a lever, not what you expect when paying $200 a night

Management was unresponsive to our criticisms, saying only that they spray monthly

K

I do not recommend this hotel for families with young children The rooms are slightly unsafe with the older stairs leading up to the deck and the door barely latches shut There were ants in our kitchenette

When I told the front desk lady she said they could send someone to spray Even though I had a baby in the room with me!! Then they offered to send an ant trap And did nothing else for us but offered to downgrade us to a crappier room I will definitely not be returning here!! Go elsewhere

Miss LeBrun

The motel was older and outdated, however, that didn’t matter The room was clean, the pool was great and the location was perfect! The only complaint I had was the smoking on the balcony The view was so beautiful but I couldn’t enjoy any time on the balcony with my children because our neighbors sat there and smoked for hours and I don’t want myself or my children breathing that in

I tried to leave the door open for a breeze and I could smell the smoke coming in It wasn’t just one room of people either, it was almost everyone on the top floor Oh well

While being mainly outdoors and touring the area, this little “home” was a nice touch! Great views and the family that owns this business are personal and friendly Also, they are dog friendly which is a plus!My only constructive criticism is that they upgrade the beds They are hard and stiff to our liking

Also, we wished the sink in the bathroom was a little biggerNonetheless, we had a great experience Thank you!

Stayed in one of the rooms through VRBO, and it was awesome! The room itself had just enough space for 2-3 people in the single bedroom option and the deck that it came with as well was perfect! While the pool and hot tub were under construction, we visited the small beach which was a short walk from the room which was perfectly sized with a good amount of picnic tables and grills for some early season grilling The views of the white mountains and MtWashington contributed to the overall ambience to the resort

I would highlighy recommend a stay here and will hopefully be back!

I absolutely LOVED staying here!My family and I rented out 4 cabins last summer – 8 adults and 2 kids in different age groups, all with very different interests/vacation styles The 1848 checked off almost EVERY one of our individual requirements and preferences! My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the adorable little one-bedroom cottages and it was just perfect for what we needed – A clean, cozy place to stay & enjoy the granite state for a few nights I love that it was a free-standing cottage, so it still felt like we had a place of our own for our time there

The cottage included a shower and half-bathroom, which were separate from each other off the main room They were both very small, but that didn’t bother us one bit!Other than that, the room had cable TV, a mini-fridge, a coat closet, and a small dresser Each cottage also had its own BBQ outside My favorite was the little porch! First, it was a great spot for us to hang up our wet towels and keep a cooler or 2 But most importantly, I’m a smoker, and it was nice to not have to hike somewhere every day for my morning butt I am also NOT a morning person, lol, so I loved being out in the summer shade with my own little spot that allowed for plenty of time (and personal space!) to wake upThat was one of the many ways in which the owner was SO AWESOME! Not only did he give us an excellent rate, but he was the perfect level of laid back while also being highly accommodating He was often out in the morning, tending to the grounds and keeping the property in beautiful shape He’d give us a “Good morning!” or double check to see if we needed anything, but mostly just did his thing and gave us our space to wake upThat’s not to say he was stand off-ish, by any means! He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and genuinely made us feel like guests – never like impositionsMy mom rented one of the larger, family-sized cabins which again, was perfect!Parking was super convenient, directly next to the unit, so it wasn’t a huge hassle getting things packed or unpacked Full sized kitchen, bathroom, living room/dining area, and I cant seem to remember if there were one or two bedrooms, but it slept 2 adults and my 12yo brother very comfortably It also had a large raised deck with a BBQ grill and picnic table right next to the shared fire pitThe property is along a main road, but the cabins are set in the back so it still felt super rural which is what we wanted If that’s not your thing, they also rented standard motel rooms just along the road, which I’m assuming is great for bikers who just wanna wake up and ride! Plus, the location itself is within a mile or so to weirs beach, and the area is scattered with awesome local antique stores and restaurants10/10!!!

Debra F.

Was here on vacation with mine and my fiance’s family This place is older, but extremely well kept Grounds are looked after, pool is smaller but very clean

The best part was the service we received our entire stay! We had 5 cottages all together, all very clean at check-in, and Mark and his wife, Keyur, helped with any request or question we had! If you are looking for a camping atmosphere, but with some comforts of home, this is the place! Truly a gem! Price very reasonable! They run this property almost by themselves and it looks like a full staff is here daily! Thank you Mark and Keyur for a great stay!!!

Donna Hodgkinson

I just came back after being here for the past 5 days Although the rooms are a bit dated, they are large and clean The bed was so comfortable

I waswaiting to wake up with back pain, but it never happened The owner was so nice, and helped bring my things to my room as I am on oxygen, and have mobility issues The grounds are clean as well as the poolI will be back
