I hosted a celebration in the Gathering Room at the Inn at Swarthmore and the experience was perfect! Booking the space was seamless and my contact for organizing and booking, Melissa, was so helpful and responsive The space looked elegant when after set-up was complete, and the staff were amazing with everything from set-up to helping me find safety pins to secure my dress The staff even accommodated my last minute request for fresh mint and lemonade for cocktails and made sure the dessert display for my cake, cupcakes, and cookies was beautiful

The food was delicious (and there were so many options!) and plentiful The location was perfect for accommodating all of my guests because the regional rail is right next to the hotel and there is plenty of parking available I looked at 17 different venues before deciding on this one – this was by far the best value and a lot of the work was done for me I also appreciated that the estimate I received when looking around was so transparent – the fees and taxes were included so no unsavory surprises! The total bill came to the exact same as the estimate I cannot say enough good things about this experience – a true hidden gem!!! Thank you all for a truly wonderful time!

Absolutely loved this restaurant Its a hidden gem we never knew about! The drinks were amazing The food was so so good! Highly recommend the flatbreads and the buttermilk chicken sandwich! They hire servers that are new to serving which I think is outstanding

Giving people a chance to feel good about themselves and gain experience is wonderful Great serviceThey also have a wonderful weekend brunch – will be checking that out asap!

Love, love, love this place The location is perfect for seeing some of the major tourist sites in Philly The hostel is very clean and very well furnished for a solo traveler who doesn’t want to eat every meal in a restaurant (full kitchen with pots, pans, etc

, refrigerator and cupboard space for guests) The staff was very helpful and kind and surpassed my expectations I was somewhat concerned about having a room on the second floor (16 steps straight up) because there is no elevator in the building and my mobility isn’t good, but there were plenty of fellow travelers who offered to help with my suitcase and other trips up and down the stairs I went up and down once a day and it worked out fine I felt very safe here, and also met many interesting people from other countries I’m a senior citizen (there were a few of us here) and I enjoyed interacting with all the young people and showing them things I love about the city I used the kitchen, played the piano (bring some music with you if you think about it), and hung out in the living area on the day of my departure (they have free hot tea, free wifi, and a great facility for storing bags) I didn’t take part in the planned nightly activities because I had too much already planned, but others did and said they were fun To make the place absolutely perfect, they could put a plastic chair in at least one of the dressing areas outside the showers (would help with getting dressed), up the quality of the sheets a little bit and also improve the thin mattresses (but still, if you are bone tired after walking all over the city, there’s no trouble sleeping) I didn’t even take away a star for the mattress because I had such a great time here I can’t wait to go back

This place is awesome Yes, it’s no frills, but what do I expect for 40 a night? But the perks are: clean linen and towels, exceptional staff, safe environment, no hurt on the wallet considering the going rate is $200-300 for the Old Town area Trust, if you don’t mind bunks in 4,8,10 person rooms book thereI loved it and will return

Nuria Conten

The best hostel I have ever visited And I’ve already been to quite a fewThe staff is attentive and friendly

The common areas have lots of amenities: in entertainment I highlight the pool table, and musical instruments, among many more; to work remotely, there are quieter spaces; they also have activities for guests that invite the meeting between them, which makes it easy to share a room with people who were initially strangers to each other 10/10 😀

Have your wedding at the Inn at Villanova!!! They gave us our dream wedding Everything was absolutely perfect! Kristin, our coordinator was incredible from the first time we met her She answered all of my questions and emails quickly and made everything happen for us! The combination of the hotel, mansion, and ballroom made for a gorgeous wedding in a beautiful place, with the ease of accommodations just steps from our reception

The mansion was gorgeous for cocktail hour and had many different spaces so people could wander and mingle as they liked The ballroom was decorated beautifully and did not feel too crowded or too empty with our 90 guests The food was incredible, all of our guests commented on how delicious everything was! We had an after party back in the mansion which was fun and delicious and then brunch in the mansion the next morning, which was again, delicious Brian and Sarah from the food and beverage team were kind, professional, and excellent They made sure everything ran smoothly and was perfect! The staff was lovely and so helpful and kind The service, food, and atmosphere were all incredible It was the most perfect wedding and we are forever grateful to the Inn! Thank you!!!Hotel rooms were clean and well designed The beds were so comfortable! All rooms had balconies to enjoy some fresh air The suite was gorgeous and huge! We had a great stay at the Inn!

We had our wedding at the Inn at Villanova in July of 2022 and our guests can’t stop talking about how much fun it was and what a perfect venue the Inn was—we HIGHLY recommend the Inn as a venueWe REALLY have to thank the amazing Kristin, the chef, and the whole staff were wonderful to work with and went above and beyond to make our day incredibleOur wedding was originally scheduled for 2020 but was rescheduled to 2022 due to Covid and the Inn was incredibly accommodating and gracious along the way it was a night we will always remember and the Inn will always be a fond memory for us!

I can’t believe the high ratings I see for this place Probably one of the worst banquet experiences I’ve ever had There was no staff to be found for any assistance, but most egregious, there was no refilling of coffee/tea urns or desert tray midway through a three hour long banquet

Not even any refill for water And, as I said, no staff around to even ask for it Maybe bring your own refreshments next time you have an event there

The rooms are dated (if that’s important to you), but mostly my concern is carpet which was very dated and felt dirty (i didn’t get close enough to thoroughly inspect, just wear your flip flops and it’s fine) The AC and fridge were both pretty loud but just white noise so that didn’t bother us too muchFront desk people were all very nice and answered any questions we had

Pool looked clean but we didn’t get a chance to use it Breakfast room is small (i guess not everyone eats their free breakfast)Neighborhood: i mean the mall is in view which also means lots of restaurants and next door is dominoes which for us was a great option for a late dinner Not a great place to walk around since you’re surrounded by main roads but we managed a stroll and it felt pretty safe

Grace Gardner

This hotel was actually so awful I came here on a school trip and we got our room and it wasn’t cleaned since the last stay, my classmates rooms weren’t cleaned either The beds were messy and the bathroom was gross

We ended up getting new rooms and the sheets didn’t fit the bed The toilet wouldn’t flush and numerous other rooms had plumbing issues too The downstairs wasn’t being used because there was water damage in the basement There weren’t many breakfast options either The bedding was practically just sheets, it gave off creepy vibes and a 13 year old was hit on by another person staying here The only reason I’m putting 2 stars and not one is because the pool was great, and the outside was pretty cool I do NOT recommend!!!

Melanie Garbaini

Great location Outdated decor/ rooms Extremely dirty pool with no running filter and hardly any chlorine

Friendly employees Front desk does not answer the phones though Breakfast was very simple So not try the Blueberry waffle mix, it’s awful Bed was comfortable Rooms did not receive service Stains on shear curtains No dark curtains to block out lightThere are other hotels in the same area that are probably much better

Had to leave Dallas at 0300 to catch a red eye flight I was sooo tired Researched what this place was and decided to give it a try

It is an enclosed area that has a desk and a TV and a long couch The couch has 2 pillows to sleep on plus they bring you in a super soft warm blanket Only complaint was I asked them to wake me in 1 hr They didn’t I woke myself up at 1pm and my flight departing out of a different terminal would be boarding in 19 min I did make my flight I would definitely do it again but would advise you to set alarm on your phone You can turn lights completely off and they have a machine that plays sounds so you won’t be disturbed Rm also come with basket of snacks for purchase Ask about the newcomer pilot nurse and 1st responder discount I only pd 24 for an hr Priority pass holders through American Express get their 1st hour free Highly advise if you just need a few hrs of sleep to get you back on track They have 10 different airport locations

Julio Jiménez

Changed my rating up from 1 to 4 stars They need to improve their intake process a bit to make sure that they don’t knock on your door several times while you are asleep to figure out whether you had left a card or prepaid this or that Overall is a good place to take a break/nap between flights

Don’t expect a hotel room, but priced accordingly

Lana Réy

I’m so sad this place is closed for renovations at a time when we needed it most It’s been nothing but red tape since covid starred Now that travel is opening up so much again this couldn’t come at a worse time

My husband has the migraine from hell and a reprieve for a few hours would have been perfect! My excitement quickly turned to dismay when I saw it was not an option for us

This cute 4 room Bed and Breakfast is locate very close to Main St in Manayunk where there are plenty of restaurants, shops and bars The room was very comfortable and clean and unique Mark was a great host, starting with confirmation of when we would check in, advising us on parking (which can be tough but I found a space close by), organizing breakfast time and showing us all the amenities that the Manayunk Chamber House had to offer

Pack light as this Guest House is in an older house with a narrow staircase and the rooms split between the second and third floors I would stay here again as the personal touch of good innkeepers beats the large format hotels

Tom Kissel

The Manayunk Chambers Guest House is a beautifully restored old house (check out the scrapbook in the main room) situated in the hills of Manayunk Our host, Mark, greeted us and filled us in on the history of the house and the local area We booked the City Room on the second floor, which is extremely comfortable, with a king cushy bed, seating, and its own separate bathroom with a shower and a soaking tub

There are no TVs or children, which was fine by us – on our 30th Anniversary, we appreciate peace and quiet The neighborhood is relatively quiet, as well I can’t say enough about the breakfasts! Mark is a former baker, and he still keeps his oven busy Each day we had an assortment of croissants, scones, and muffins, along with unlimited coffee and tea First day was a bowl of beautifully presented fruit, nuts and whipped cream, and next day was a fruit crepe – delicious! Mark is quite a conversationalist, and the breakfast chatter was very much appreciated I don’t think he could have done anything else to make our stay wonderful When in Manayunk, please consider the Manayunk Chambers Guest House!

Syeda

A bed and breakfast is only as great as it’s host and Mark is incredible! My partner and I had an amazing new years weekend at the Manayunk Chambers Guest house We love getting away from NYC especially on busy weekends such as new years The bed and breakfast is very beautiful and the ambience was calm and classy from the piano playing in the main room to the lovely dim lighting and stain glass lamps all over the house

There are three floors with guest rooms in each floor The rooms are all very beautifully designed and perfect for couples The bed in the Suite Heart room was super comfortable We were able to sleep in and have a wonderful European continental breakfast in the morning Mark’s homemade pastries are absolutely delicious! He is a wonderful host who provides anything you need The main room has wine, beer, water, coffees, cappuccinos snacks and even games for guests One thing to note is the parking in the area is very difficult due to the tight roads and the blocks are hill like so youll definitely get a work out each time you plan to go out The area down the block has a lot of different restaurants and shops and were beautifully decorated with lights for the holiday season Nearby there’s also many hiking trails that are worth visiting especially if you’re in the area for the fall We will definitely be returning soon!

It was what I expected it to be, nothing more, nothing less The rooms were clean and well-equipped, but they weren’t made up (apparently they don’t do this unless you specifically request it) I used the fitness centre and really liked it

It was also great to be able to use the laundrySome of the staff at the front desk seemed really unhappy to be there

Joydeep Paul

Clean hotel and well maintained rooms even though it’s shows it’s age Right at the heart of center city it’s a great plus Parking is expensive if using the valet

There is a $15 parking spot just the next block The staff was mot what I would expect from a star hotel Anyone who does not show they are enjoying their work is a big negative in the service industry Overall it was a comfortable stay

Ian Melvin

Nice facility! Friendly housekeeping staff and hotel itself is well kept There were a bunch of people smoking on our floor but we know that the hotel has no control over what guests do inside their rooms unless reported Walking distance to so many restaurants and attractions

Warning, walk outside in the evening at your own risk Pleanty of people will stop you to try and ask for money but isn’t that in all big cities though?

Key piece of advice when staying here: set your expectations appropriatelyThe good:- The front desk staff was very nice and helpful!- They had a room available at 11:30pm at night- Close to the airport with included shuttle service

– Parking here while we were away was reasonabley priced, ~$10/dayThe not so good:- The room smelled damp- The bathroom ceiling had been damaged from excess moisture- The sheets were really cheapI didn’t set my expectations very high so I was pleased with my time here

Quantum Soul

The hotel itself is great! The front desk staff not so much We had reservations but the two girls working overnight decided to give one of my rooms to someone else Then when we arrived they wanted to argue with my husband about it just to turn around and give us the two rooms we needed but told us not to bring our pets

Our original reservation was for two rooms both accepting pets I brought my dogs into the room for the night regardless and will NOT be staying here again! I wish companies like this would hire the right people and train them correctly 😋

An overall fair experienceTo start, I had reserved a king room a few weeks ago On arrival at 5:30pm, was informed that no kings were available

We were given the option of taking an immediately available double queen or waiting for the king We had a concert to get to in less than two hours so we opted for the double queenThe room was at least very quiet, but it really looked pretty worn See the pics below for the quite worn desk chair, rusty hardware on the furniture and what I can only assume was a missing shower caddy? on the shower wall leaving a residue of adhesive Felt more like a two star motel rather than a 3 star hotel roomThe lobby area was quite nice however, and they serve cookies at night in the lobby, which is a “sweet” touch The hotel is also within walking distance of a Target and several chain restaurants which was convenientOverall, relatively affordable but I probably would not stay again unless I had a worse experience at a nearby hotel

Jason Mount

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any stay This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You’re welcome :)! This place is one of the most well known in the area

I have been coming here for a long time If you choose this place you definitely won’t regret itBeautiful hotel, well kept, clean, excellent service, great location for what I went for will definitely stay again if I ever visit Philadelphia again Employees very attentive and friendly

J

ROOM: I was extremely happy with the room accommodations I got a 2x queen bed room Lots of lighting, desk / counter space, and closet space

Mini fridge actually got coldSERVICE: There was no room service unfortunately the weekend i stayed There was one housekeeping staff that was extremely rude and attempted to literally walk through me near the elevators as i rounded a corner It was a moment of a game of “chicken” The service staff in the lobby at the reception and at the breakfast were excellentLOCATION: very safe, with frequent night patrols by hotel security, which i appreciated The hotel is tucked away in an area with nice grass and trees Only minor downside is that it is not in center city itselfOVERALL: would return
