Clean, peaceful stay for a night Can’t complain about the room or location Friendly staff

I would recommend for the value!Do note that there is a $50 deposit upon arrival

Jake TheTech

It had a clean bed That’s about the best I can say The ceiling looks like it could fall in and the bathroom was very beat up

AC unit looked liked it would fall out of the wall and the carpet was cut up Fixtures hanging off the door in disrepair The place simply needs a serious remodel I mentioned this to front desk and he barely English All the gent could do is repeatedly ask me “so, the stay was good?” No matter what I mentioned Never offered any kind of discount and be prepared to have a higher rate 15000 for a nights rest and the worst I have had to date I expected something better out of this hotel The cleaning staff was very friendly I will say that much They had been left a tip But ignore this hotel as i will drive straight past any Baymont if this is how the franchise has become

Michelle Anderson

Calling this a hotel is a stretch The only thing keeping it from being a motel is the room doors are on the inside So if you have standards on where you choose to sleep and spend your money, don’t do it here

1 The rooms were atrocious They were musty and smelled of mildew One had trash all over and the mattresses were leaned against the wall Another had hair in the sinks2 The General Manager was very combative with a member of our group when they were alerting them to the conditions of their rooms and how it was affecting their health When they advised they couldn’t stay, they were unwilling to let them cancel without penalty So we were all forced to pay for a night in rooms that were not suitable for children to be staying in3 When others from our group left reviews the management responded with lies that we double booked our stay The statement they made was untrue as we cancelled our rooms without having other rooms secured We are now paying more for rooms because of the short notice However, the price is worth it for the health of our children and their familiesThe fact that the Management is defending the state of their hotel and not taking responsibility for it and correcting the issues speaks volumes to the people running it

They have self serve stations for after hour reservations There are lots of primitive campsites There are restrooms with showers, but when I say this is the buggiest park I have ever been to, I mean it! The toilets and sinks were filled with bugs and at night you have to go through clouds of them

They were all over the tent doors and it was hard to avoid getting some inside The only positive was that they weren’t particularly interested in people, just light sourcesOther than that, it seemed like a nice spot to check out We visited in late July

Jason Devos

Only camped one night so can’t comment on entire park, only my experience camping When we arrived another trailer was in our reserved spot, which was clearly labeled Luckily, the spot next to it was open

In the middle of the night someone tried to get into my truck When that didn’t with they ran their hand down the length of my trailer and was outside the door for a few minutes Then left Super creepy I won’t be returning

Jane Longshore

Where we had parked it was nice and not alot of ppl, the spots aren’t so close together that the trailors/RVs only have a few feet between them The only bad thing that was rather rude was the park attendant came over and rudely told use that we had to leave 1st of July because the space was already taken by someone else for that day and the rest of the weekend, we were already planning to leave the park that day to go to another park But the attendant just had to put his 2 cents in and be as rude as he could, I understand he was doing his job, but he could have been a little nicer about it

Other than that the rest of the attendants and park was great!

From the moment I stepped foot inside, it was impressive Owner warmly greeted us and we got settled into our rooms My room had plenty of space, tasteful decor, and strong wifi

My daughter was eager to ride the horses and they were saddled and ready before we could even unpack The ride was peaceful on well maintained mounts Our guide was a delight! We slept deep and had a lovely spread for breakfast, complete with farm fresh eggs We will definitely be back!

We booked the entire ranch for our daughters wedding in March They wanted to get married quickly and on the anniversary of the date they met With only 3 months to plan a wedding we were a bit worried about getting everything done

Mary took care of everything, food, decor, Diane did the spectacular flowers Since it was an early March wedding the decision was made to have the ceremony in the barn The bride and groom really wanted to make the barn feel more intimate and romantic which Mary and her team accomplished We checked in Friday and were able to relax and enjoy the ranch The wedding party spent the day horseback riding and taking longhorn tours We had a great rehearsal followed by an intimate dinner in the great room by the huge fireplace Later that night we had a bonfire and s’mores The wedding day was so relaxing They fed us breakfast and lunch while we were getting ready The groom wanted to add some of his Dominican heritage to the reception dinner and Mary and her team didn’t hesitate to make that happen After the reception we were able to go back to the house where there was a late night snack waiting for us Sunday morning they served us breakfast as we packed up and headed out It was such a joyful experience Everyone has gone out of their way to tell us this was one of the best weddings they have ever attended

Glenn Edwards

We showed up Thursday evening June 2nd There was no one there to greet us or check us in We were left a post it note with the door code to the Blue room, left on the counter

We entered our room and it was filthy Our pillows were stained, the towels had leftover makeup on them , the room smelled and there was no place for us to hang any clothes The drawers have never been wiped out and the floor was dirty too This event was for my Niece and her wedding The food was prepared by kids, (no adults present), who were running the kitchen and preparing the food Food was left on the counters of the kitchen and never cleaned or sterilized The dinner tasted like it was made directly from a can We never saw the proprietor until my daughter, Katherine requested THREE times from the kids in the kitchen that Proprietor needs to meet with the Bride to be, because nothing was set up as promised During the reception, two of the kids, left the bar and was in plain view of everyone making out My niece paid a lot of money for her dream wedding and this was a total diabolical and deserves to get a lot of her monies reimbursed The grounds were not in any groomed condition and the furniture was dirty and need to be cleanedI had to make the coffee Friday morning, and the 3 compartment sink by the coffee maker is filthy tooThe reception hall was not set up, needed dusted and we the members of the family ended up setting up the wedding reception as my niece had a breakdown and was apologizing from embarrassmentThe parking lot lights did not workIf staffing professional help is a problem, they should consider not taking reservations until this place get cleaned and straightened away

Nice enough for a one night stay Was clean and staff was nice but upkeep is a bit lacking No soap in our room, coffee maker in room took multiple tries to get to work and damage to walls were fixed without regard to aesthetics

Now to the good news The beds were comfy, as well as the arm chair in the double queen room Checking in and out was easy and even with a full parking lot the noise level was contained to a comfortable level

Matt Wade

Rooms were not clean soap from previous tenant was still in bathroom and a moldy slice of banana on the lamp leg by the front window of the room And also return home feeling ill and and now awaiting covid test Great location however and the staff seeing courteous and to keep to themselves

The pool area was nice the kids enjoyed it however

Roy Probus

We were nervous after reading the review but our experience was great The staff was accommodating even after booking the wrongs dates They made the change with no issue

They allowed my wife to check-in without me even though the room was in my name The room was clean, didn’t smell and comfortable The only negatives were a dirty towel found hanging on the door in the bathroom and the sink didn’t have much water pressure We will definitely stay again

Lost my 18year olds waiver Luckily she was able to get a hold of me and I saved what I sent them, otherwise she wouldn’t have had a room for the night that I reserved months ago I filled out all the appropriate forms

Lady emailed back that she filed it at the check in desk with our reservation, so everything should’ve been easy Waiver has credit card and driver’s license info on it and they lost it The parking there is awful! Good luck finding something close Lobby is nice and rooms are average Definitely not worth the price She has stayed at better places that are less than half the price and they don’t lose information to stay I do not recommend

K Bailey

I went here for Susan Hancock’s performance and the performance itself was great but I REALLY appreciated the service I got from the bartender He made sure my martinis were crafted well and I liked that they were specials on Thursday (the Purple Haze is REALLY good) The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is because I was told by a host I couldn’t eat in the lounge while watching the performance and I later found out that wasn’t true

That misinformation kept me from ordering more food and didn’t inspire confidence that every employee there was on the same page In any event, I’ll definitely be coming back whenever Susan Hancock is there!

5122 EDIT: One of our guests had a spider in their bed

Beware…Very difficult staff to work with to block out rooms for a wedding Our guests are thoroughly frustrated with their booking policy, which was never clearly communicated to us when we asked about them beforehandRoom block rates are confusing and their management has been difficult to get ahold of to help us correct the issuesI hope the upcoming stay will at least be enjoyable for our guests…

Nate Hartle

Very disappointed in customer service experience Made a reservation many months ago for 3 days for graduation Husbands work had last minute complication forcing us to go home a day early

Twice on the phone they said it was a 3 day minimum stay for graduation weekend, then once we checked in they said they could check us out a day early What was not explained was that we would pay MORE to do so than the original reservation, and cost us the points for the extra night stay Mgmt did nothing for us, not even credit the original price or stay Highly frustrating and disappointing experience

I recently stayed here overnight and was pleasantly surprised by how modern looking this place is It’s a complete redesign of how an affordable hotel should look The lobby is really well done

The room was very clean, the bathroom was very well lit and clean The size of the rooms is good, there isn’t a dedicated closet but only hangers available which makes sense The complementary breakfast is very basic in a good way, you get eggs, oatmeal, pancakes, tea, coffee etc Basically something for everyone The staff is friendly and courteous There is a small gym, I didn’t see a pool though I was also impressed by the room charges which were very nominal compared to some other older dated hotels in the areaI would highly recommend this place

Laura Neiman

Pros: good breakfast, comfortable beds Pool table in the lobby was nice for the kids Water filling station for water bottles in the lobby

Small convenience store right in the lobby was handyCons: DIRTY Our room had a visibly used toilet and trash in the trash can Floors in rooms are uncarpeted and not regularly cleaned Visible dirt, debris, sticky spots, water spots from spilled drinks, just very obvious that they do not clean the floors when they clean the rooms Hallway corridor not vacuumed when we arrived but had been cleaned when we returned late at night We had two rooms and both had filthy floors Also our bathroom sink was clogged with hair and wouldn’t drain, so filled up quickly while brushing teeth Just generally not well kept or maintainedThe filthy floor didn’t impede our stay or anything, but the rooms were priced similarly to other area hotels, so for the price you might as well opt for another hotel with a pool

Delaney Jones

Honestly a cute little room great for 1-2 night business travel as an individual Breakfast was meh but it was free so I can’t complain! Room was very tidy and staff were kind and extremely helpful I was initially placed in a room with a noisy, rattling air conditioner and had to be moved, but staff was super helpful, moved me immediately to the top floor in a room with a bigger bed

Nice spot to stay for business travels!

I don’t typically leave reviews but for this I will

THE LADY AT THE FRONT DESK WITH CURLY HAIR WAS AMAZING!We came in town for a concert, just so happened to be the KU parade this weekend and a whole bunch of other things we last minute decided to stay in town and tried so many places to get a room but were all sold out Finally when stopping here she was great!!! Got us a room last minute and had an amazing attitude and customer service while assisting us! The room was nice and clean WILL BE STAYING HERE EVERY TIME WE COME INTO LAWRENCE

Trying to plan ahead for a night in Lawrence Kansas, I reserved a room with Wyndham Super 8 hotels I gave them my CC number for booking purposes and was assured that it would NOT be charged until check in This was at 730 pm

My car broke down on the way and had to cancel my stat and trip there After multiple calls to this hotel, I was ultimately informed that the charges would Not be refunded I would not recommend this place at all to anyone for ANY reasonThe only thing good about this place was Kelly

Michelle Keyser

OWNER TURNS HEAT OFF WITH THE FIRST 70 DEGREE DAY IN THE AREA WITH NO CARE FOR PAYING GUESTS! Had to leave this place within 3 hours of check in due to the heat being turned off for the year despite nightly lows in the 30s in mid AprilFront desk employee was nice and offered a space heater, obvious fire hazard especially in a hotel, that we declined for said obvious reason But was told by management if I wanted a refund I would have to leave immediately

Fine with us since we didn’t feel like freezing to death or possibly dying in a fire due to overnight usage of a space heater

I had a great experience at this hotel! The hotel is huge, so it was a bit of a maze to find my room! I had trouble getting the digital key to work, but I called the front desk from my digital phone and the woman was very apologetic and told me I did not need to come back down to the desk for a key She sent someone up to me right away! I was so impressed by that great service! The rooms were nice and beds very comfortable I almost always stay at Hilton brand hotels and I’ve never had a complaint about the beds

They are always comfortable and the linens are great I also have to give a huge shout-out to the restaurant manager! The day I was there, they had a breakfast buffet because there was a basketball team staying there I have some dietary restrictions and the manager offered to bring me something special I was so grateful!

Aaron Schlabach

Reading some of these other reviews, I am honestly a little stunned I loved my experience at the Double Tree We picked a room with an interior view, which was a window facing into a maintenance hallway

Unusual, but was a quirky touch The room, bathroom, and shower all looked and smelled clean, and the water pressure was great I loved the interior style (70s style with a modern touch) The bed was comfortable too Breakfast at the restsurant downstairs was also fantastic I would 100% stay here again

Jason Vaughan

We enjoyed our stay here while in Lawrence visiting family The property was a bit dated, but they are doing a nice job with what they have here Everything was clean, and the staff was very nice and friendly

My wife and I had a few drinks in the lobby bar, and found it nice Overall, I’d stay here again no doubt The people make the place great and make up for any shortcomings

The kids said the pancakes were gross The biscuits were hard The gravy tasted funny The turkey sausage was just weird My son did like the fruit loops but said the milk tasted funny Good place to stay, but don’t count on breakfast, plan to eat somewhere else

Adrian Yazzie

Was informed two queen bed rooms were over booked and was gonna be given a king with rollaway But this GREAT couple offered their 2 queen room and took the king bedI felt if it wasn’t for that couple, the staff would not have been able to accommodate

Air conditioner worked GREAT Breakfast was great as well

David

Very comfortable and consistent like all Express stays Rooms well-sized Very good accommodations

Full sized pillows, great compared to other franchises with the ridiculous small ones Breakfast a let down It’s grab and go and underwhelming, but much appreciated as it shows corporate responsibility and respect for slowing the spread of Covid In fact, it was the only concession to it’s existence as staff and guests and the world moves on

First off, extremely convenient locationI called in ahead of time to see about being able to plug my diesel in The woman on the phone was super friendly! Upon arrival, they made sure to put me in a room that gave me a good view of my truck

They also came right outside to show me where to park and plug in She was even kind enough to bring a cord out for me beforehandThe room itself was clean, spacious, and very accommodating King size (comfortable) bed, couch, table and chairs, microwave and mini fridgeThank you to the staff for being so friendly and helpful!!!!!

Chris Godley

I stayed here with a friend of mine We were traveling on motorcycles, from Cincinnati to Colorado We stopped here with No Reservations

We were able to get a room We quickly unloaded our bikes, and took our luggage into our room Soon after, we headed to a bar down the street We had pizza, and a couple beers The lady running the front desk, told us she was also a resident there As was her boyfriend and dog The place look like it was full of crackheads We had seen a police cruise to parking lot several times As we arrived there late and didn’t have a whole lot of time, we decided to sleep for the evening Waking up the next day we packed our bikes We were off to Colorado After arriving in Colorado my friend noticed he was missing his handgun It had been stolen We knew who stole it The lady at the front desk gave her boyfriend our room key He went in there and took the gun We have no proof But also we have no gun That’s the first place we stopped at Never again will I stay at Lawrence, Kansas Motel 6 The rooms were dirty The hallways were dirty The outside parking lot filled with trash The flower beds have not been up kept This place was a hole in the wall Just so you know

Debbie Housworth

Not only were the rooms dirty every time we stayed, the staff was rude, especially the morning manager! Definitely not a “the customer comes first” atmosphere! The only reason we stayed at all was because out of all the places that allows pets, they are the only place that doesn’t charge you for youWherever you do

make sure you don’t leave anything behind because it won’t be there when you go back to get it!!!

This place is a Nightmare on 6th Street The bathtub had mold and there was no toilet paper The refrigerator also had mold at the bottom

We booked the room advertised with three queen beds; instead, what was there were two queen beds and a double roll out bed propped up against the wall Since I don’t deal with liars, we had to leave We asked for our money back and we were given a refund with no issues We then had to scramble to find another room at a clean hotel The owners have clearly not put any money or love into this place If you are looking for a dump at a cheap price, this is your place If not, look elsewhere

My son and I stay here whenever we come to Lawrence The location is excellent, the staff are friendly and extremely accommodating and I prefer outside entry doors I do not eat the breakfast so can not comment on it, but room wise? Spacious and clean, good beds, and the wifi and tv work excellent (all a plus to my 8 yr old) – an amazing deal for the price

The rooms are a little dated, but again, clean and the beds are newer No stains on carpets and although the furniture is older it is in good repair The hot water is great, microwave, fridge and coffee pot in the room along with an easy chair and the 2 queen beds A cabinet to store your luggage and a dresser I’ve stayed here before and will stay again

Beds were clean, service was terrible Very rude and no empathy We had been driving 12 hours and needed a room for the night

A family of 5 Would not get us a room with all 5 of us because he wanted to up charge for a secind room next door for an extra 200 bucks and no extra pillows or blankets that he would give us Terrible terrible Would not recommend!
