Hotel needs updating I got the king suite w/jacuzzi and there are some things that need maintenance done

When you turn the sink on high it comes out of the handle, toilet moves when getting off, and the shower faucet wigglesRoom seems dark because the super dark red paint Walls have scuff & dirt Marks all over This is also present in the hallways Carpet felt & looked awfulBreakfast area needs the trim near the floor to be reattached to the wall You can see it peeling away and visibly see the white glue dotsBed was super comfy and clean and the water pressure / quality was great Breakfast was good and service was also goodI feel like if they renovated it would be beneficial to the hotel

Rooms are in need of updating and repairs Ceiling falling off in the bathroom If you set air any lower than 75 it will get very humid in the room and everything will feel damp

Front desk told us that’s just how these units work No place for for guests to throw trash or cigarette butts out We were told to “throw them in the sewer drain” The front door area has cigarette butts everywhere Not enough parking in front of the building for all guests to park in a well lit area Would not recommend thus hotel unless it’s the last place in all of North Iowa We were never greeted upon arrival or anytime we left or returned for the day

Nancy Litch

The staff are very friendly Samantha is so nice and helpful If you ask a question, or need something she is quick to help

I asked where I could do laundry, and she escorted me to the washer and dryer and then got change for me She is also proactive in restocking during the breakfast serviceThe accommodations are OK, it’s old and needs updating We have a 1 bedroom suite and the bathroom is large, with an old and very deep jacuzzi tub It’s difficult to get into it’s so deep

This is the best camping facility in the area, if not the entire country It has access to Clear lake, and has the longest dock on the lake There is also a nice swimming pool and playground

For those who don’t have a camper, you can rent nice rooms in the lodge The staff is very friendly, but also enforces rules to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and safe experience

The Restaurant at PM ParkOn a recent road trip, my wife and I stopped for lunch in Clear Lake, Iowa With a great deal of luck, we found this restaurant Actually, they found us

We were looking for it on the grounds of the resort and someone asked us if we needed help She brought us to the restaurant and then served us lunchThere was a good selection of lunch items and also a daily special The special seemed to be very popular with the locals Our meals were excellentWe would stop here next chance we get

Susan Carrott

The Mother’s Day brunch/lunch today was absolutely delicious! The roast beef was perfect and so many great sides They had two other meat selections, several salads, three choices of potatos and green bean casserole They also had several breakfast choices

(I chose lunch) The desserts our table tried were also delicious! The fresh strawberry shortcake was a hit with homemade whipped cream Two thumbs up for this delicious meal!

Vintage hotel but has been kept up well Unexpected stay and got a double queen for $88 (that included tax)Easy to get to and conveniently close to interstate 35

I actually loved the old style room Never see mirrored walls and a window bench in modern places!Check in and out was simple and quick Nice breakfast set up Convenience stores, restaurants, gas, etc within walking distance or a short drive

Stayed here for one night in fMarch 2022 The front desk staff was very friendly The hotel itself needs a bit of TLC

I felt like I couldn’t‘ t trust that my room was totally clean, because it showed so many signs of heavy wear The shower head had two settings- painful or gushing The drain looked pretty gross too The walls all need repainted and are missing paint in lots of places There was a wall to wall mirror in place of a headboard, and it was cracked and held in place with clear tape right over the bed And one of the bath towels had an orange stain on itThat being said, the sheets and bedding looked clean, the ground floor window opened all the way and had a bug screen in place, and looked over a nice open field The hotel is dog friendly (it does add an extra $10 a night to your room to bring your dog), and serves breakfast starting at 6am Typical hotel breakfast- oatmeal, breads, fresh pancakes/waffles, yogurt, fruit, juice Lots of well lit parking spaces, and tucked far enough off the road that I didn’t hear any road noise at night The room also had a nice size fridge, TV, mini coffee maker, window seat, individual heat/AC unit under the window seat, and blackout curtainsIts a step up from a motel, but doesn’t really meet typical Wyndham standards

Dave Nichols

I’ve stayed here many times over the years when visiting Clear LakeThis place has really declined during the pandemic no working TV (this apparently was on ongoing problem that they were aware of but failed to mention in listing or at check in); toilet was broken; shower was broken; room carpet was dirty; common areas were dirty; breakfast lacked hot protein-very limited selection

When I complained about the TV the manager told me he wasn’t the manager and he would need to talk to someone regarding the tv or the rate Lodging at this interchange is challenging but might be better off with one of the higher priced options at this point

We stopped here on a cross-country move and it was such a nice area! Great little hotel with amazing views, kind staff, and nicely renovated rooms It was so nice to enjoy our coffee outside and watch the regatta out on the lakeWe came on a Sunday night and the restaurant was closed both Sunday night and all day Monday but it looked like a fun spot (and pro tip: IowaEatz delivers for free to the hotel)

If you want to buy snacks or drinks from the lobby, be sure to get them before 8pm as the desk isn’t staffed overnight If I’m being picky, a couple extra towels and a bath mat would be nice in the bathroomAlso worth mentioning we had a 26 ft Uhaul towing a car hauler and Clear Lake Boats was super chill about letting us park in the boat trailer parking area overnight so we had plenty of space Overall, great stop for a relaxing stay and we’d come back!

Nancy Edwards

Stayed here for a quick weekend We went to a concert at the SurfBallroom and choose the Inn because it was on the water It exceeded our expectations! Great room, comfy bed, lovely bathroom with a good shower

It is right on the water The Front desk staff was great and super helpfulWe will definitely choose to stay here again

Forrest Gerst

Location and views are great Rooms are updated and aesthetically pleasing while still functional Walls are paper thin, could hear everything going on next door and the hallway

An adjacent room threw a rager of a party until well past 3 AM and it was like I was in their room with them! No staff on site at the front desk after 8 PM, so it’s not easy to make a complaint Good thing I’m a heavy sleeper, I suppose

The 2 stars are for the beds being comfortable but the bathroom is a different story Old dirty tiles and mold Nowhere to put your shampoo or soap

Beds were full size in our room but compfy for pet friendly room So we slept separately The breakfast was really good tho They need to do some remodeling in their bathrooms but otherwise it was good

PJ

Nice location basically on the dead end of a street so it is quiet with plenty of parking and plenty of places to eat and bars that are close They have a awesome breakfast included and everything was very neat and clean and the staff was super friendly and polite And you also get access to a awesome gym with a Smoothie Bar to go and work out

Mike Kimmel

The staff here are horrible and treated my wife and I as if we were intruders not guests The manager Stephanie Castillo was condescending and enjoyed the fact that one of the housekeepers was yelling at us to get out of our room and acted like they had people waiting to check into our room at 11:10AM The whole experience was a terrible way to start our day

I am still in shock at the treatment we deserved and their over confidence in the fact that they could do and say anything that they wanted to us without any concern or fear of jeopardizing their jobs, ESPECIALLY the smug manager Stephani Castillo She was basically saying “F you, I can do anything that I want to you, and there is nothing you can do about it” She was taunting and really enjoying seeing my wife upset after being accosted by the housekeeping creature who was frightening before she started banging on the door yelling and screaming like a wild animal These people do not deserve jobs, and they have no business dealing with the guests We were in our vehicle with all of our luggage before 11:20 I don’t care if the place is booked full, check in is at 3 pm, there is no excuse for their actions and appalling treatment Go elsewhere, we will never book a room there again

We hosted my tea party themed bridal shower at the Larch Pine Inn Bed & Breakfast and it was amazing! Paula was awesome to work with and everyone had a great time We had around 30 women attend and she served two courses The first course included ham salad and cucumber sandwiches along with deviled eggs

And the second course was cake with chocolate dipped strawberries And we each had our own tea pots and selection of tea to choose from We also had a lady from the historical society come and speak It really was a unique experience and I would highly recommend it!

Renee Kessel

I don’t know what was better, the accommodations or the amazing breakfast every morning Paula and Ken were amazing hosts and attended to our every need The place was clean, the most comfortable bed, within walking distance to downtown and restaurants and just a block off the lake

This is worth the drive and Clear Lake is a great place for family vacation or just a weekend retreat Golf course nearby and fishing made this trip the perfect getaway Thanks Paula

The room was quiet and the beds comfortable The rooms were cleanly, service great, and breakfast was good The bathroom doors in the rooms are just a sliding door and that is disturbing to me

The shower door doesn’t close either, and why are heating and air conditioning units so loud? We can make electric cars virtually quiet why not a heating and air conditioning unit?

Dallas St Clair

Stayed the night of March 7th Check in was easy, standard with Hilton Honors hotels Staff was friendly

Unfortunately the laundry bag in closet had odd clear liquid in it, there were 10-12 long dark hairs in the shower (from previous occupant I’m assuming), the breakfast was lackluster, and the coffee maker (in my room) also contained the previous occupants coffee and filter Not what I normally experience from a Hampton, will stay somewhere else in the future

Amanda Conley

My room was dirtyWe found someone else’s food in the fridge, socks, and Vicks by the bedAlso blood on the pillowcase

DisgustingDidn’t discover until we were already in bed for the night or I would have asked for a different room I do not think the sheets were changed for our stay and it was not vacuumedThe pool was nice but the floors were sooo slippery my child fell I have been to many hotel pools and none with such a slick pool areaThe hotel waffles were good but they were out of a lot of breakfast items like juiceSave money and just go stay at one of the cheaper options in the area

Booked room 6 weeks in advance, got an email 4 days before saying my room was canceled Called and was told they overbooked Pretty sure since we used points for our stay they canceled us first

All other hotels in the area were booked, closest available rooms were an hour away, called Wyndham and was told there were still rooms here Rebooked When we arrived there were people in our room, guessing family of the owners Had to wait 20 mins to get into the room Very dated, bath tub was peeling, shower head was laying in the tub with no way to attach to the wall No cable TV, holes in the curtains, alarm clock was broke Luckily only needed a few hours of sleep and got out of there

Sketchy place but the people working there were nice 1st: A/C smelled of fire, was going to call 911 but front desk came and changed our rooms after searching for the source of the burnt smell and unplugging the A/C unit Said other units were giving off that smell also due to heat or something but I did not understand it all

2nd: No elevator so prepare to walk up steps 3rd: Families living in vans and other vehicles are boon docking behind this hotel and have set up a makeshift camp so was afraid to walk to car by myself 4th: Breakfast was very little of anything and sign said must not take to room yet only 6 chairs available for guest to sit to eat Toast, biscuits and gravy, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, juice, and milk 5th: Hotel is run down but they do clean, I can tell they do But I agree with the other reviewer that there are holes in the blankets, the AC unit had busted grates but at least it worked No conditioner and when asking for one was told had one left Short on supplies, short on food, and yet the Super 8 not even 10 minutes from there did not have the same issue I just don’t know if it was worth $100 in the end 6th: Random old school chairs spewed around the hotel and in back and a charcoal grill dumped and laying aside the parking lot You felt as if you were walking through a homeless camp just to go to the hotel door 7th: Hard to breathe in the lobby Although it is nice to have scents spewing in the lobby it was just overwhelming to where I had to leave the lobby in order to breathe Not sure if they are burning oils or wax in the units on the desk but it’s too much for some The day before we stayed just down the street in Mason City is the Super 8 that costs the same and has much more and better services while visiting relatives on our trip Wyndham members, I suggest you skip this one unless it is you last resort or hit up another Wyndham hotel since the manager keeps telling everyone the same thing under their reviews Like I said, I thought they were very nice people, but that won’t sell customers on comfort and convenience Hopefully they upgrade a bit and clean up the area (outside mainly) to make it more friendly and comfortable for guests in the future

I travel for work, and stay in hotels a lot It was so nice to be greeted by Kasey after a long day She was very welcoming, but what I appreciate the most was the great explanation of their services

I feel like it is often skipped over, and I don’t worry about it because I am familiar with many, but she shared information I wasn’t aware of – breakfast to go, rewards, etc She made sure I was enrolled in the rewards Also, the room was so quiet – something I don’t find often enough Bed was comfy, and all was good! I asked for her name on my way out because I rarely do reviews, but wanted to make sure she was recognize because I felt she went above and beyond, and it was very much appreciated

Ryan Huffman

Cannot say enough about the staff, they were great Amazing for every single encounterBuilding on the other hand

Old, dated, cards won’t work if you have them anywhere near a cellphone, shower drain is plugged, bathroom door won’t shut, etcStaff made it worth the money, not the building But the room smelt good, it was clean, and it looks like the staff actually care Just fix that old place up

Liv

Pet friendly rooms with access straight from your room to an outdoor area for dogs to go out when they need to Reasonably priced Good breakfast selection

Comfortable pillows, comfortable bedsOnly complaint was the water in the shower never got very warm
