We stayed here a few years ago and for a cheap room it was great This time was not at all the same experience Mini fridge was working so we told the desk

Maintenance came at like 10pm then they were super rude and didn’t do anything to help us We saw roaches in both of our rooms We stayed 3 days and they never had coffee ready before 830 am and the creamer, sugar, cups, stir sticks were constantly empty They used to have breakfast so we were expecting that only to find out they no longer do that We are a family of 7 so for what we spent on breakfast for 3 days (since only 1 of the rooms had a working mini fridge) we could have just stayed a better motel Also the first day house keeping didn’t take out our trash or bring us new towels or anything We can make our own beds But clean towels would have been nice Also there wasn’t a bag in our trash can to begin with so I dumped it in the big bin since they didn’t empty it and then they got upset with me because it wasn’t in a bag We will stay elsewhere next time but I was super disappointed because last time we stayed there we really did enjoy this place

1 star is too much for this place, I’d give it a 0 if I could! The police were there off and on all night dealing with people staying in this motel, it definitely didn’t feel safe We needed to shower but the shower was disgusting!! It looked like they never changed/washed the shower curtain I had to keep my shoes on because the carpet was sticky

We found several cockroachs during our 1 night stay Other guests hair EVERYWHERE This place was just overall very rundown and not taken care of We didn’t even feel comfortable sleeping under the blankets, bedding was stained up very badly We just used our own blankets and slept on top of the made beds Overall just very disappointing and will definitely not be back

Ivan Henson

I prepaid for the room months prior I got to find 6:00 telling you they were cancelling my reservation because I have not checked in yet I’ve never heard such insanity

They were trying to double charge roomsReally crowded and busy with lots of music and pot in the parking lot

Thank You!!! Yea

Phen McIlvaine

I never stayed here, but my parents did A tragic and disastrous event happened in my hometown It destroyed our home, and I was put on a med-flight to KU, three hours away

During my time in the hospital, I don’t know what I would have done without the support of my family Friendship Inn made it possible for my parents to sleep in a bed, see me, and have some sort of calm in such a horrific timeI am forever grateful, and forever in their debtYou’ll find no place better, more welcoming, and more understanding of the needs of patients and family

I hate having to leave this review My husband and I stayed here recently on our honeymoon and were so disappointed I read google reviews before we booked and a number of them mentioned it being dirty but we decided to go ahead and give the hotel the benefit of the doubt

The lobby was pretty dirty; we understand it was snowing outside but it still could’ve been better maintained The carpet in the hallways leading to our room were pretty dirty as well And when we arrived in the bedroom the floor was also in need of vacuuming, lots of hairs The tub had what looked like a few red crayon streaks; the soap bottles were not filled all the way; there was a half used roll of toilet paper in the bathroom in addition to a full one By the fake tree there was a rose petal on the floor, definitely not ours There was a chunk of something in the bottom of the mini fridge Also pretty noisy being New Year’s Eve We’ve stayed in cheap hotels that were much more sound proof and a lot cleaner Overall very disappointed for the price we paid and for all it’s hyped up to be The lady at the check out desk was not very friendly and didn’t ask how our stay was This is a beautiful unique building and has a ton of potential but definitely needs better management

Nickole Bribiesca

Everyone was very sweet and awesome Which made the stay pleasurable Learn the pricing before you order, I’m not sure we ever see the breakfast pricing and was surprised at the bill but you absolutely pay for convenience

Things were clean and worth saying again- staff is amazingPerfect placement being close to anything you can think of while also being slightly tucked away The traffic and hustle of the Legends down the street has no effect of the peaceful and romantic ambienceI would recommend to anyone looking for a nice getaway or staycation that can afford the luxury the Chateau Avalon provides It’s not a budget hotel but again, provides the luxury you would pay for

Akimi Weller

Hotel when walking in is not very inviting We got checked in and went straight to our room The front desk gave us two vouchers for drinks since they couldn’t get us in for couples massage

The room was not how the pictures show it We got the Lincoln room which felt smaller than I was thinking it would be There’s no closet space to hang clothes or coats The hot tub does get very hot and filled up Their bar is what we loved the most The service in the bar was very pleasant and their drinks very tasty Bed in our room very comfortable

This hotel was clean for the most part The room had been remodeled The price was good for what you got

The desk person was friendly The bed was extremely comfortable and it was quiet Of course I was there on a Wednesday The free breakfast wasn’t very good They had eggs, biscuits, bread, cold cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee and make your own waffles The waffles tasted like soap and the biscuits were gone I would stay there again

Tara Closz

If you can afford to stay somewhere else DO IT! Though not disgusting the hotel is definitely on the run downside, you can tell that the owner(s) and management don’t care what you think of the hotel outside of the lobby and dinning area The rooms aren’t well maintained the pool needs help and the knowledge of the staff is somewhat lacking While the location is great the cost of the room is low but as they say, “You get what you pay for

” With other nicer places to stay in the area, I recommend going with another place to stay , especially if you have a family They say that you have assess to a gym, but the front desk has no idea where it is and the only local gyms are ones you have to pay additionally for

Wendy Castro

Hi I just stayed at this hotel for the night, the room was really clean

and also smelled goodI have been in a couple hotels lately for work, and it has not been a good experience to be honest , but this one definitely hits the spot Is my second time there and I will definitely go back if needed Stayed at room 146

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was the best choice we ever made! The room was gorgeous and cozy, the breakfasts were scrumptious, and Kathy was so hospitable and knowledgeable about the area and able to give recommendationsLots of restaurants and cute little shops within walking distance, situated in a safe area, and we never struggled finding street parkingEverything was neat and organized and we basically felt like royalty (she even learned our favorite tea to have outside our door each morning)! We will be staying here again, and we highly recommend it!

Ashlee Martine

We had the absolute best time here My mother-in-law got us a night here for a Christmas present for my husband and I Let me just say everything was absolutely perfect

We had the best time! The huge jacuzzi tube was amazing too! This really was a great place to relax and enjoy one another! Plus the breakfast in the morning was SPATULAR!!!!! Amazing amazing!! We can’t wait to go back!!!! 5+++ stars all the way!!!!!

Victoria Black

I’ve stayed here on my own twice in the last two years and I’ve never been disappointed The wrap around porch is an excellent place to relax and read The interiors are immaculate, light, airy and are charmingly decorated with vintage furniture

There are comfy beds, soft bathrobes, extra blankets, a hairdryer, everything you would need There’s been incredible attention to detail in these rooms On top of that, there’s a common area with complementary coffee, teas, snacks, and mugs and glasses The food is always top notch! From the breads and french press coffee (some of the best coffee ever) delivered to your room to the actual breakfast shared in the dining room, it’s always creatively served and absolutely delicious! My times here have been the most comfortable stays of any B&Bs I’ve ever stayed in I look forward to returning again next year!

My air conditioning dies during a heat wave with temperatures as high as 104, and it took 5 days to get it fixed The phone representatives were amazing and helped me get reservations for myself and my two cats with the earliest check-in possible so I could get some sleep before my night shift as an IVU nurse The desk staff also facilitated this by letting me know the earliest I could check in, making me welcome, and providing a door magnet alerting staff to the fact that cats were in the room, so no one would accidentally let them out

The room wasn’t fancy but it was clean and the prices were better than anyplace else I could find It made an incredibly stressful experience much better and allowed me to keep my pets and my patients safe

M B

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! IT IS DISGUSTING!!! Smells horrible Stains all over the floors Kitchen is dirty

There’s even a whole punched into the door They charge you $100 “deposit” and don’t tell you about it when making the reservation They then said it’s probably because I didn’t book directly with them I booked directly with the hotel over the phone😡 Lies, liesYou have to “check out” kitchen supplies, they are not in the roomTrust me pay a little extra and go somewhere else

My daughter, her boyfriend & I went to a concert at Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs (less than 10 minutes away if you take away the traffic) and this was the perfect choice to stay The room itself along with the entire hotel was super clean Our stay was short but we loved it!The location is perfect with food choices & shopping all around!

Very nice hotel Very clean and new looking Beds were very comfortable and clean

LARGE room and suite for what I was expecting2 beds, separate shower/toilet area from the sink Kitchen had a full size fridge/freezer, a small stove top, dishwasher, sink and cabinets filled with plates and cups etcThere was nothing at all dirty or wrong with the room I could say My kids thought it was a lot of fun Has a pool area, basketball court outside Nice breakfast with a large eating area2 Tesla chargers and a single lvl 2 J1772 available for freeNegatives would be maybe they need some more service staff? Pool didn’t have towels (Were provided when we went and asked)Random things weren’t stocked like the covid added wipes placed around, which I didn’t and wouldn’t have used, but I just noticed they were emptyNo hot tub which is fine but adults like itOverall was a great stay, would come back for sure

Morgan Halverson

I usually love Homewood Suites but this was a different experience Not clean rooms, pool was not very clean and never had towels Called the staff for more towels (on my cell because the pool phone didn’t work) and got a rude response – and they never brought towels

Digital key quit working and staff wasn’t able to fix it Trash and dirty dishes in my room when I checked in No hair dryer in one room, broken one in the other roomBreakfast was really good and breakfast staff was awesome Rooms are big and hotel location is great

Front desk staff was friendly enough Breakfast and a pool offered (I didn’t end up using either) but the room itself sucked The fridge in the room did not keep items cold, and the condenser in the fridge leaked water onto the floor

The room had a mildew smell The AC unit was loud enough that my partner was unable to sleep Our room had a king bed, and the pillows offered are smaller sized, almost throw pillows, and not large enough for the bed provided The shower did not have a water resistant inner curtain, so all of the shower water soaked the curtain and pooled onto the floor The smoke detector (I believe? Maybe C02) needed a new battery that caused a flash in the room The TV in the room had weird lighting issues going on where I could see bulbs behind the screen Also, for two people in a room, only three bath towels were provided That did not leave anything to put on the bathroom floor to try and dry up the water (I need one for my body and one for my hair, my partner used one for his body)We ended up leaving a night early to avoid these issues for a second night I brought these issues up to front desk staff hoping for a full/partial refund for the second night, and the staff member listened to my complaints but didn’t offer anything for the poor room condition/experienceAlso, hotel is close to an industrial district so loud trucks move material nearby The sound is loud and travels into the room

Will never stay at another Best Western or Wyndham hotel again I made a booking error and asked about getting it corrected I was polite, never raised my voice, never demanded anything

The GM Pam was immediately rude, short with me, called me a jerk, said I was blackmailing her, and hung up on me I just wanted simple change made They’re keeping my money and refusing to help If you ever need something from this hotel they’re likely incapable of helping you After how I was spoken to by the GM and Best Westerns refusal to do anything they have lost my business forever I hope it was worth the $100

electric buzzard

I hate to give such a low review to a Plus location, but this hotel really felt like a standard BW with a few half-baked cosmetic tweaks That would have given it four stars

however, for some reason, my room was very humid and literally felt “wet” at times I’d leave my baseball cap on the table and it would be legitimately wet in the AM My towels didn’t really dry when hanging in the bathroom eitherOverall, the bed and my sleep was good, and the AC worked like a champ – I like my hotels cold, and that did the trick The staff was friendly, tooI hate to say it but due to the very average rooms that manifest themselves as nicer than they are, I won’t return here when I am in Olathe

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for four nights last August while on a trip to Kansas and Missouri I was able to snag a deal of only $88 a night – for a Candlewood Suites, that is fantastic! For reference, the previous Candlewood Suites we stayed at in Salina, Kansas was $136 for one night Now, this seems to be an older Candlewood Suites property, so it might feel a bit dated for some, and the lobby area is rather small

Another thing to note: if I remember correctly, housekeeping only comes in your room once a week at Candlewood Suites hotels Since we only stayed for four nights, housekeeping never came to our room I’m sure they’d still come if you request them to With that being said, our room still felt relatively modern, was perfectly clean, well maintained, and everything was in working order I can’t recall any issues we had during our stay This might be one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at in recent years If you’re able to get a similar deal that I did, I would absolutely recommend this place Even if it’s a bit more expensive, I’d say it’s still worth looking into, and it seems to be a perfectly fine choice for extended stays

Teresa Small -Ornelas

The rooms look like a studio apt for one bedroom and they do offer a 2 bdrm They let me look at the rooms before deciding and paying They offer a discount for weekly stays

They have free use of washer and dryers and weekly cleaning They have a little workout room and a small store to purchase items you need or forgot They also allow pets on the first floor with a magnet to place on outside of your door if you want someone to know your pet is in there The parking lot is well lit on a dead end road with a Maurices, Target and , home Depot within walking distance

Molli Monson

I rented a room for my parents for a week and they loved it! Very clean The people that work here are very nice to work with They are incredibly helpful and accommodating

I believe I spoke with Tammy, who was so kind! The woman at the front desk also was so so sweet to my parents

Fun had by all Staff is so polite Kids have such a great time when we go

Water Park is amazing Food was better than I thought it would be Very clean and well managed Not a negative thing to say Your wristband is your room key and you can also swipe it anywhere inside to pay for things by charging it to your room I always love that I don’t have to bring my wallet down to the water area and have to worry about it all day

Anthony Jessica Pontarolo

Very fun for the kids, but be prepared to spend an arm and a leg and not sleep well If we return I’ll bring a sound machine with us I honestly cannot describe the noise from upstairs, I think they were jumping on the bed and then onto the floor, and it lasted until about midnight

Yikes! But the facilities were very clean, staff was SUPER friendly and helpful, and we could’ve stayed for about three days & nights to really have experienced everything they have to offer Kids loved the experience, food and drinks were tasty, and everyone was so kind

Ryan

The water park was fun and water was warm enoughBut if you are going for the magic stuff then best to go with the idea that you can only do it at certain times and that you will have issues with the technology of it While we were there on spring break, a busy time for them

We were told the magic is only open at certain times to keep the kids out of the halls But at the same time they have a yoga session happening in main entrance well stupid but sure why not Then we asked then when it would turn on? Was told 9:00 am Was not the case, talked to manager with no helpful advice other then to just wait till it happens to be turned on, (it was not turned on by 9:20) we explained that we were not happy with the fact of trying to keep kids busy while the rest of the 3 rooms we had pack up to leave and the offer to fix it was to return the wands if we didn’t want them We decided to try and just wait for them to turn on and when they did they had computer issues so the system would have you start a quest then get 1-2 parts and then tell you that you are not on a quest We did end up finishing the quests in the end but overall didn’t feel like it was user friendly or that the people running it cared about it at allI very much do not like to leave reviews like this however had I known this in the first place I would have gone to the great wolf lodge again in Wisconsin Dells that is much bigger, better ran, and more to do in the area So sorry KC but won’t be back

Ed Austin (ShadowWolf180)

When visiting the area near Worlds of Fun, there are several hotel/motel options in the immediate vicinity; namely due West of the amusement park across Interstate 435 on Randolph Road/Corrington Avenue Going back some 15 years ago, many of those options weren’t bad at all, with one or two higher-priced optionsFast forward to 2022, and some of the motels are turning into places were the homeless or less fortunate live all the time

So finding a decent stay in that area is actually quite challengingFortunately, this hotel is still holding true to being a quality place to stay, and at a reasonable price The Staff are friendly, and the hotel is clean The rooms are what you expect with the normal amenities (TV with cable, coffee pot, etc) Access is through main doors to help with security This is a plus given the locationThe only thing to be concerned about (and honestly this is not the fault of Super 8) is the deterioration of the surrounding area Again, other motels very close by are not the basic bargain motels of yesteryear, instead hosting recent crimes as stand offs, assaults, and theftsMy wife and I were hosting our oldest son, his wife, and our grand daughter for a weekend We live close by, so we wanted them to be close by as well Given our local knowledge we had to do our homework and go through the reviews of all the hotels there and found this to be the best We weren’t disappointed, and neither was our son and his familyIf you are planning a visit to say Worlds of Fun and want to stay very close to the Park, this is really your one good option without paying absurdly high prices or settling for a 15+ minute commute from the Park to your hotel

Philip Dodd

The lady at the front desk was awesome, she gets 5 stars! the only reason I gave 3 stars is the jacuzzi had 15 spots were the coating was chipped off and the shower had 1 spot that was chipped off Since the jacuzzi is made of fiber glass underneath the coating, we didn’t get a chance to use it, I didn’t want to risk getting literally getting covered in fiber glass Other then that the room was really nice, and for the price it couldn’t have been better

I’ve paid more for a room without a Jacuzzi that wasn’t as nice as this one, and couldn’t hear other people in there room untill they open there door So the sound deadening was remarkable I’d stay there again if they fix the jacuzzi

Brandi Moss

This place was horrible First off you must have a credit card and an id that matches So you can’t use your husbands credit card with out him

Secondly our bed was broke and my son cut his hand on it when the bed slipped off and he fell The rooms were musty and moldy smelling The door frames were all bent like someone had tried to pry the doors open The lock on the inside was broke The gentleman that checked us in was hateful The only positive thing was the beds were comfy, but super small they are only a full size bed

Wish there was a zero This is party central Don’t expect to get any sleep, there will be loud music and traffic in and out all night

Suspect some “business” going on with the permanent residents and the “visitors/residents” they are hanging out with Don’t expect any help from the front desk Phone in room doesn’t work, bed was dirty/unchanged Had we gotten any earlier we would have never stayed even one night You are better off to stay in your car at Walmart

Sophie Didrichsons

As we arrive there’s shots fired and several cops

then getting to the room, not including the exterior of the place I’m quite disappointed Instant smell of urine, no smoke alarm, and only half the outlets work Just generally dirty no bath sized towels (in a two bed???) I’m happy at least the sheets were clean and there were no bugs Even at the cheap rate I wasn’t expecting this

Casey Parker

Not worth the money, we stayed for two nights, our room wasn’t cleaned after the first night, and don’t worry if you want new towels, you have to bring down your old ones to get new ones because apparently I now work at this hotel also, that is also after I had to talk to the employee and she had to call her management and get permission, Poor service and customer care Would not stay here again

HOTEL IS CLOSED!!!!! I made a booking in March of 2022 for August 2022 The hotel has been apparently closed for what seems like over a year from reviews Went to go book another room for our party and noticed a temporary closure on the front page of the hotel website

I called Hilton and was reassured that a booked reservation guarantees a booking I asked to speak with a supervisor and was then told the hotel is indeed shut down (with no notice of the hotel or company to let me know for my upcoming visit) I’m now out of hotel rooms for our party of 11 and the cost of the rooms have almost tripled in the area Hilton will not do anything to help that will benefit us in anyway DO NOT BOOK HERE!

My parents stayed here when they came to town and everyone was so nice and the place was clean and an all around great experience! The breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve ever seen and every employee was incredible would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay downtown KC! you can easily walk to the river market from here as well as easily access the street car Great stay here!

Along with her numerous other shady business practices and endeavors, Elsa is a true professional in the way that she takes advantage of good, well meaning people in addition to exploiting her hardest workers for everything they have She is kind to people who she feels can benefit her and once she no longer feels they have anything to offer her she behaves in ways that can only be described as vindictive The hostel itself is very clean thanks to the people she exploits and the beds are comfortable

A great hostel for a very brief stay but I cannot in good faith recommend staying for any extended period of time

I booked there and they were closed but the lady decided to pet me stay there for free I thought that was nice but I quickly realized what was going on There us a man staying there for free and first thing she said about him was that he would be kicked out soon

I can see that she thought I was down and out because I drove an old van and looked a but run down myself What she realized is that I’m not broke and am not trying to live for free so when I asked to stay another night and pay, she said “You have to pay for 2 nights” and then asked me some inappropriate questions because I can assure she thinks I am involved with illegal activities LOL She wants to think that So just a heads up It is a nice location but this woman is a narcissistic of the worst kind She tells you how horrible human beings are That’s all you need to know

Stayed for one night and I would absolutely stay again Beautiful, clean accommodations The bedrooms are immaculate and the beds are very comfortable and clean

They provide sheets, pillows, towels The bathrooms are very clean There are two showers and two bathroom stalls that are shared between men and women on the same floor But provided the place isn’t packed, it seems to be enough Two great big friendly dogs will greet you at the door and bring their toys and kisses There is a bit of parking in the back which I would highly recommend because although the house is beautiful and a wonderful place to stay in Kansas City, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy so I wouldn’t recommend walking around at night But if you drive in, absolutely stay here! Also the hosts are absolutely the best!

Very kid friendly!!! The pool was a good temperature and everything was clean Breakfast had a good assortment of options and the staff was all very friendly and accommodating Sierra was one of two food prep staff that made sure my toddler had every option she could desire including cutting up extra strawberries just for her! Would definitely stay again!

The bedroom was dirty and the lady at the front desk was rudeThe bed comforter had makeup on it, not a stain because it was rubbed into the sheet as well The shower was slimy and very slick on the bottom

There was one towel for two people When we called down to tell them about the dirty room her response was she was the only one here and there is nothing she can do When I mentioned the sheets again her response was that she wouldn’t be able to do anything, she can’t leave the front deskWe asked for a new room and she huffed down the phone before telling us to come down and get the new keysBetween the room being dirty and customer service, we won’t be back I had high hopes with this place being new but I guess notOn a positive note, there was an ice machine on both the 2nd and 3rd floor!

Passing through on a motorcycle trip in July 2022 The place was in a good location, clean and staff was nice Left before breakfast but I am sure it was fine (for a motel)
