My fiancé stayed here for business and brought me along We only picked this hotel for the convenience of the drive to the office he works at Big regret

After we had asked the front desk to have our room cleaned during our second morning she said the hotel wasn’t supposed to be cleaning rooms every night due to COVID Mind you that neither of us would be in the room during that time She mentioned we should be leaving tips to the cleaning crew as well Never have I stayed at a hotel and be told to tip the hotel cleaning crew Absolutely unprofessional We decided to just stop asking for our room to be serviced to avoid comments about tipping and to not cause friction with the staff that would be in our roomOnce I thought the worst was over, the next morning we found a cockroach in the room Thankfully we only had two more nights of our stay leftLastly, we went to get ice from the hallway and the hallway smells It smells like mildew and you would think there’s a pool in the hotelI do not recommend anyone that’s coming to the Raleigh area to stay at this hotel if their job is expensing the trip I recommend Double Tree by Hilton in Cary if your company will cover the expense

Jasna Najacque

I was very disappointed of the hotel, the room was very small and filthy The carpet was nasty with stains included blood stains Computer chair was broken, sofa bed was old and dirty

Towels and covers were so rough and a old Coffee maker was a joke/ a toy, can’t make coffee Breakfast was for dogs/ frozen food This place need to do a complete remodel, this is unsanitary I was so uncomfortable to sleep I sprayed and washed all my clothes when I get back I do not recommend this place to anyone unless they remodel it

We stayed at this very nice hotel but after 10pm everything shutdown including Any kind of hotel store that sold snack I am diabetic and they told me the closest place to get food was walking distance about a half mile away and hung up There should be some kind of food available for people in need

They don’t have any working vending machines It’s weird

Local Runner

This is a very nice, comfortable hotel with all the up-to-date unique amenities! As you walk into the large beautiful hotel lobby you are greeted by staff there to assist with your luggage or whatever you need The front desk staff were very nice and pleasant and once you are checked in, they provide you with an brief overview of the hotel and the location of things I stayed on the 12th floor and my room was very uniquely modern with a comfy king sized bed, a large glassed walk-in shower, a huge television and a nice chase lounge in front of the floor to ceiling windows providing a beautiful view of the city

A very well equipped fitness center and large indoor pool on the 4th floor also with floor to ceiling windows providing a great view as you are working out Hotel rates are very good to be in the center city and adjoining the convention center however be aware that you must pay for parking at the rate of $1200 a day

Great, clean, convenient hotel close to the airport Would suggest having a car to get around as it is not walking distance from area restaurants but definitely a short car ride away from plenty of options Clean room that could use some upgrades

Safe neighborhood Friendly, helpful staff Free breakfast offering multiple options for almost any diet or picky eater in your group Reasonably priced for the location and amenities provided Would stay here again and reccomend

Anna Parker

The price for this hotel was affordable! However, I did read the reviews and knew what I was getting myself into but it was a last minute booking I gave it 3 stars because the front desk staff is very unprofessional – not well kept appearance, outfit or attitude/tone Secondly, there was a trail of ants near the elevators

Elevators were very old, creaky, and unreliable You could hear it shaking and making odd noises I refused to use it again – I just took the stairs The rooms were not bad It was very spacious (one of the biggest hotel rooms I’ve seen, actually) It was outdated and fairly clean One thing I didn’t like was I smelled marijuana in the hallway The plugs attached to the lamp did not work so I had to move the side tables away from the wall to use the wall plug I saw a dead roach-like bug behind it, dust and a blue lighter? The comforter had a big rip in it and was just a bare duvet The window had some debris on it – maybe caulk or window sealant? I’m not sure but there was a crack in between the windows so outside air was coming inOverall, I did not have a bad experience here I just do not think it’s very clean or kept up often I refused to walk on the floors barefoot and didn’t feel comfortable taking a shower I just felt icky here Read your reviews before booking anywhere

John Silva

The hotel and rooms need updating and a thorough cleaning I killed a worm like bug in the bathroom upon entry to my room, but the bed and sheets were clear The in room coffeee maker does not work, my sink does not drain properly and the shower head only receives half of the water while the rest of it comes out of the shower faucet

The location is convenient for work, but I will not be staying here again

The “hotel” had a bed bug removal car outside of it, so not surprised when we saw actual bed bugs in the beds These reviews from the “prestigious providence day school” are not from the parents yet from the actual students themselves And these are not fake reviews

We all checked into the rooms but decided not to stay because of all around cruddy conditions as you can read in other reviews Don’t try to make another snarky comeback to a honest review It’s clear you can’t save the “hotel” so you may as well try to save your dignity

Danielle Crawford

I posted a review and it won’t let me respond so let me say this The hotel was awful The owner was rude and just walked into my room while I was still in bed

The room had broken furniture and to address his response to my original review I did confirm with your staff when I checked in about my late checkout when I asked her for towels It is not my fault she did not leave a note for you There are phones call before walking in and ask about the check out You were very lucky I was just in bed with my husband asleep and not something else Your poor management and the staff neglecting to do their job is not my issue it is yours

Danie Tate

The only good thing about this stay was the lady at the front desk when we checked in There was broken furniture in the room with mold on the mirror and the bed was off track Under the bed looked like it had never been cleaned, the latch for the door was missing, the accessibility features were not in the room except for the rail at the toilet even though they advertised much more

The coffee maker was missing, the remote for the tv barely worked and it was extremely noisy outside late at night The worst thing was that I requested a late checkout and the owner walked into my room right after he finished knocking I wasn’t even given a chance to respond because I was asleep He said he didn’t know I had a later checkout even though it was requested through the reservation and I saw the lady put a note up when I checked in

Clean and pretty cool common areas Realized I needed a handicap room, as I had surgery and wasn’t aware what my needs were going to be The extremely sweet lady at the front desk was quick to change our room with nothing but kindness and understanding

No bed bugs ( I check EVERYWHERE I stay), thank you!! Awesome courtyard area with a gazebo Each room has a private patio ( or balcony) Very quiet here, and their checkout is noon I’d definitely stay here again!! I’m pleasantly surprised

Taylor Thurmond

Fantastic hotel right next to the NC state veterinary hospitalThe staff are very friendly and helpful A full kitchen supplies the food for the included breakfast

It’s remarkable that they offer this level of service for such a cheap priceAside from the hotel being a bit older, the rooms are very well maintained and clean Obviously the management really cares about this place and the customer experienceThis is my first google review… I’m just so moved by this place… because it’s that exceptionalThank you all again You all made a stressful time for me and my dog in the hospital much easier

Josie Ragains

We booked this hotel after our AIRBNB canceled on us So glad that we did It’s affordable, clean, and the entire staff was really friendly

Best of all their complimentary breakfast was actually good I normally skip out on that amenity at other hotels Also, the airport is only a 15 minute drive, which worked perfect for us I read some of the negative comments and honestly if you want more out of your hotel… then pay more at a newer hotel But this exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely be back

The kindness of the owner really touched me We actually weren’t able to stay there due to COVID restrictions (and we were booking last minute because a snowstorm was keeping us from going home) and he was genuinely worried about our well-being and wanted to ensure a good trip to the area He recommended another bed and breakfast, and we booked it, but if I ever come back to the Durham are, I will definitely stay here!!

Jim Gagnon

Our stay at the Blooming Gardens was filled with positive experiences including: the romantic charm of the beautifully restored historic inn, the amazing gardens, the delicious breakfasts, the exceptional hospitality from Frank and Dolly, the playfully hidden chocolates throughout the room and moreThe Inn and the rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and overflowing with eclectic collection of antiquesWhen I returned to retrieve a jacket I left behind, Frank and Dolly returned it in a nice bag

and then went a step further and added some Lindt chocolates They just aim to please in every wayI found even the house cats to be very friendlyI highly recommend the impressive and expansive Duke Botanical gardens

Seth Hayden

We had a wonderful stay at the Blooming Garden Inn We contacted them as we had a unique situation in which we needed availability to the room prior to checkin time Frank was very accommodating! The Inn was very comfortable and located close to a lot of great things in Durham

The breakfast was fantastic with fresh fruit, a delicious quiche, and fresh juice Will definitely book here again if it works out for future trips to Durham

This was a great place to stay I would say one of my top choices in Durham, NC The staff are warm and friendly

My room 438 had an awesome view so I left the window opened I fell asleep easily and everything was peaceful The room gave me an upscale feel but still comfy I will be back to stay eat and enjoy the Hilton life aka the good life

Mitchell Scott

Staff was friendly and room was nice Elevator is a little slow, breakfast for 2 is $36 and about what you would expect for a hotel I wouldn’t recommend it unless the price is included in the room (some rooms include it and some don’t) The restaurant/bar is closed on Sunday so beware of that

The main reason I booked here was for the pool and the hot tub however when I arrived the hot tub had been closed down and filled in They should update their photos and make it clear the hot tub is no longer here Overall it was a decent stay and I would probably stay here again if I’m back in this area

NJ Chatham

I attended an event here, but did not stay in a room The facilities were nice, but the drink service was extremely slow, probably due to a lack of personnel While at my event, the hotel was also hosting 2 weddings and the 2 bartenders could not keep up with demand

If I’m paying $4 for a domestic beer, I would prefer faster service I feel Hilton should have been prepared and provided extra servers, especially since they had a head count for our gatheringOtherwise, the hotel was lovely, the food was tasty and there was plenty of parking

Staying at The Chapel Hill Lakehouse B&B is magical and something I wish everyone could experience!Three years ago we rented one of the rooms while doing a quick site visit for our wedding venue Sherry & David were wonderful hosts and we had such a great time that we decided right then that we wanted to rent the entire house for our wedding weekendWe got married the weekend of 8/21/21 and had our entire bridal party stay with us from Thursday to Monday

When they arrived they couldn’t stop saying how amazing the house was! In total there were 10 of us (9 adults and our 5-year-old flower girl) The house accommodated all of us very comfortably and everyone was amazed at the beauty of every room and at the grounds/view of the lake There are wonderful amenities (games, movies, etc) that kept us entertained for hoursThe location is perfect – about 25 minutes from the RDU airport and close to downtown Chapel Hill Our wedding guests all stayed at the Residence Inn Chapel Hill hotel which was a close 5 minutes away as well We had everything we needed and more and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay for our wedding weekend Thank you Sherry & David!!- Leia & Mike

Christina Murray

What a gem! I attended a bachelorette party here and had a blast! Sherry and David are incredibly kind and welcoming; they make you feel like family and keep you smiling ear to ear The home itself is beautiful and spacious, with a movie theater and game room I especially love the access to the lake, and was sad we didn’t stay longer to paddle board or get on the dock boat! I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to go back someday

Also ask to see the tiny house 🙂

Do not fall for the rates they offer The experience and the servicing matters and it doesn’t come naturally with the price they offer here Plan for a better accommodation unless you are okay with clogged bath tubs & sinkholes, roaches in the room, tattered screens for windows and smelly rooms with room fresheners denied by the front desk!

MiKayla Penn

This was by far the worst experience We stayed here for the weekend while visiting family Both Saturday and Sunday night our keys did not work as we were coming back to go to sleep we tried to enter the side entrances but the keys didn’t not work (which we thought maybe after a certain time the side entrances don’t work) so we go upstairs to the 3rd floor to go into our room and of course keys don’t work

Having to go all the way back down stairs to report the keys the staff was very rude about the situation However not only did the keys not work once BOTH nights they didn’t work twice!!! We had to go back down stairs both nights because the keys still didn’t work All together both nights it took us almost 30mins just to get into our room Plus the beds that are supposed to be a queen size run very small Tried to contact the manager about the key situation without a response of course

We had a great overnight stay at Heights House! The hotel was beautiful and we enjoyed both the common spaces as well as the room If you are looking for something different than the cookie cutter chain hotel, then this is it The building is beautifully restored and the guest room was spacious and comfortable

It was within walking distance of great shops, restaurants, and bars downtown From the time we booked, the staff was available for any questions and provided all of the information that we needed We will definitely be staying at Heights House when we are in Raleigh again!

Savannah Moye

The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, the room was perfect! The staff are friendly and gracious It’s close to so much in walking distance but not in the center of it all which is wonderful They offer a wine and cheese hour between 5p-6p and the breakfast is full of delicious options

The amenities were everything we could have wanted! We will definitely return to this beautiful spot and will recommend it to anyone! Thank you Heights House Hotel for a wonderful weekend!!

Lee Durso

This is a lovely restored boutique hotel The furnishings as well as artwork were beautifully displayed including the checker board which we actually used! Our king historic room on the first floor was decorated with modern emphasis that still complemented the historic building The staff was friendly and were glad to answer any questions especially the modern coffee station in dining area

The breakfast was wonderful with fresh pastries, quiche cereals and fruit This was a special gift from our adult kids and will come back

Rooms are filthy Ive never seen so many roaches in one place, theres a horrible bedbug infestation, and the bathroom has mold You cannot walk across the floor with your bare feet, it’s horrendous and repulsive

Staff are friendly but the rooms are definitely not clean or remotely sanitary to stay in If you want a better option, go up the road to Red Roof Inn, only a little bit more money per night but its actually CLEAN This place is a health hazard! Not to mention I found pills on the floor next to my bed, giant dead water bugs behind it, and dirt that should have definitely been cleaned YEARS ago Dont forget the light fixtures, half of them in my room didnt work This place is a genuine nightmareThe neighbors arent so friendly either, drug addicts and dealers in so many rooms Its unsafe, and you WILL ultimately have strangers knocking on your door for no particular reason other than to get their fix Plus banging on doors at odd hours of the night, way too much noise past daylight hours, and constant arguing outside hotel doors

Chose this place for free breakfast There was nothing out Asked for help

Man went to fridge and threw microwavable burritos into the small fridge No orange juice Dirty area We didn’t eat here Place is just nice if you need a place to sleep But it’s so close to the airport you will hear planes flying overhead So if you’re a light sleeper, pass on this place Its just basically the bare minimum necessities for a place to stay the night

Jake Jenkins

My flight from RDU was delayed and I received a hotel voucher for this location I expected a run down motel but was very pleasantly surprised by this Microtel The rooms were small but very clean and the customer service was excellent from both the front desk and the driver of the airport shuttle

The hotel is also conveniently located adjacent to a convenience store if you need any impromptu overnight items I would happily stay here again if in the area of the Raleigh airport

Destinee Gonzalez

We stayed here for three nights as we explored Raleigh for the first time Small but perfect if you are going to be going going going Breakfast is not the best, but it’s there

When we walked in we could tell they are definitely struggling with people smoking However, waking up to an employee screaming in the hallway about it was unprofessional This was early morning too The walls are EXTREMELY thing, we could here the person next to us playing a video on their phone Overall, would recommend for a quick stay if you’re just sleeping there and not spending a lot of time

Service was terrible If I could give this location ZERO STARS I WOULD It all started when I called a week in advance notify for early check-in if possible

Upon arrival to be told that rooms will not be available until 3 Sure enough rooms were not ready until 3:30pm We were told that current day check-ins do not get loaded into system until 3pm The front desk worker was not pleasant at all very short with us Room was ok Outlets were not working properly, no soaps left in bathroom, the deadbolt on the door was hard to latch once in for the night Breakfast was not great at all Missing a lot of items for breakfast ( Butter, hot sauce, yogurt, muffins etc) The nicest person that worked there was the person who maintained the breakfast area Very apologetic about not having items Hot tub was broken Doors to get into the building (side entrances) were not working properly NO ROOM KEY NEEDED so really anyone could just come into the building The last thing that really got my attention was after going out and coming back our room key did not work so we needed to visit the front desk This was a different person other than the person who checked us in and we asked if we could get a new key We gave him our 1 key and the Gentleman said sure what room We told him and he got two new keys and gave them to us No questions asked or ID or last name on the room I did not feel very comfortable knowing that it could be possible for anyone to come in and say my key was not working properly and get a new key made MIND BLOWN!!! My rating of this location has changed dramatically since the last time I stayed here La Quinta Corporate I believe needs to visit this location ASAP I have not stayed at a La Quinta Hotel that was ever this bad

Kelly Diaz

We arrived around 7pm and the front desk manager was extremely nice and helpful getting us checked in and directing us to our room The room itself was one of, if not the, nicest la quinta I’ve ever been to! Rooms were clean and had plenty of towels and pillows, a nice tv, and a mini fridge/microwave/coffee maker set up Beds were very comfy

There is also a great spot to walk you dogs away from the parking lot and traffic, which was appreciated In the morning they had a buffet that included waffles, muffins, juices, etc At check out, the gentleman with the army veteran hat working at the desk was extremely helpful! There was an erroneous charge on the folio, but he called over coworker Terri for help and they were able to resolve it! There are also a ton of restaurants less than 5 minutes away, so we were able to grab some take out after a long drive Overall, super friendly staff and a great place I would definitely stay again, and I’m glad we chose this hotel

My family and I travel a lot! Since the pandemic I’ve witnessed horrible hotel/motel services and accommodations! barely any breakfast or clean rooms BUT this place has a variety of options for breakfast, a clean room, workers were sweet This has been such a pleasant stay that I feel obligated to leave a review Highly recommend

Not to mention the price was great!

I called in to get some hotel information and Ms Trina was a great help She was very clear, friendly and got the job completedWhen I arrived I was greeted by Ms Kim

She had to fix an issue with the reservation which was for a king bed not a doubleWhen I got to the room I pulled out the sofa bed because it was right across from the king bed Which I had never seen positioned like that before Usually the sofa bed is to the left or right side with a small wall separating the two areas The pulled out sofa bed was almost kissing the king bed, with very little room to walk through Which was not a good setup I found out it was a handicapped room, however it just wasn’t a good fit for me I requested a new room and Mr Jim took me to a room on the fourth floor by some kind of machinery room at the end of the hallAfter setting up in the new room, which had a normal king bed and sofa bed setup I heard a loud noise kind of like a garage door opening If you are a light sleeper I would not recommend this roomThe air conditioning in the room was positioned about a foot away from the king bed This made it freezing by one side of the bed and the rest of the room was still warm However there was a fan over by the kitchen area close to the sofa bed Which I put on highBecause I already changed rooms I didn’t want to drag everyone through that againThe staff were great and friendly starting with Kim, then Jim Later I spoke with Ava, Darryl who greeted me while in the lobby, was friendly and gave me helpful information during the evening and Amal I enjoyed the pool and hot tub and breakfastThe very unique thing about this location was the elite member spin wheel, that should be a fun game at other hotels I appreciate the customer service they all provided

The best thing about the hotel was the staff They were all very friendly The hotel was aware that there were 5 guests, yet we only had 3 sets of towels

The sofa was filthy in my opinion I had to cover it with a sheet; it was disgusting There were no hand soap and the small bottle of body wash was only 1/4 filled so it was finished on day 1 They didn’t clean our room for the three nights we stayed We booked for 6 days, but end up canceling 3 days We had to request for toilet paper and soap I am not sure why they called what they offered hot breakfast It reminded me of school pre-packaged breakfast I was beyond disappointed

Complete Renovation Is Desperately NeededI use to stay here often before and during covid I returned after covid and was completely disappointedThis place has turned into a hotel where all the construction workers stay

The place also needs a complete renovation everything is old and outdated This place still has the first look of the Springhill Suites lookThe elevators are old and I thought I was going to get stuck a few times The ice machines doesn’t work on all floors This place has an odor on every floor Also most of Marriott property’s has the streaming system on the TV’s, not this place The room I stayed in mattress need to be replaced one side has sunk down My room also had mismatched furniture I was just disappointed and disgustedI honestly can’t believe this property is still under the Marriott brand Definitely disappointing to members that spend alot of money with the brandThis definitely will be my last stay at this property These old properties are over priced and definitely not worth it This property is more like a no to one star rating in my opinion
