Wow! This place is amazing! Definitely home away from home We arrived early and Mr Kim let us check in early, which was so helpful! Pool was freshly cleaned and so nice

Room was large and spacious and spotless The location is tucked away on a hill, yet close to everything Staff was wonderful Such a clean, homey, amazing place to stay! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to everyone Thank you for making our stay wonderful!

I didn’t, personally, stay at this hotel but my husband has been traveling for business a lot recently and he says this is the best hotel he’s stayed at The rooms are clean and the staff is always pleasant and helpful I made the mistake of booking the wrong Best Western last week and he stayed at the other one one night and then had me switch hotels to this one because he liked it so much the first time he stayed there

I have called in twice with booking questions and spoke with Jin (General manager) both times He is awesome! Whatever he’s getting paid, it is not enough He remembered me even though it had been at least a few weeks and we had only spoken once He has been very polite and very helpful every time that I have worked with him He always greets my husband by name and he says he is always great to deal with I have dealt with a lot of hotels recently (other Best Westerns and other hotel chains) and this location is above and beyond the competition and cheaper then many others out there If ever we need to come back to the area, this is where we will be staying

Where to start?…Dirty, outdated, mediocre breakfast, mild on tub and bathroom For the price of the room, I expected much more The shower is tiny and had mold in the caulking and mold on the shelving

Hole in my closet door The spring on the entry door to my room is not working properly so the door does not shut unless you pull it fully The door handle to the room entry door is wonky and you have to pull up and then down on the handle to enter the room The breakfast is mediocre at best Housekeeping has not come by to take dirty towels and replace in two days of stay One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a hotel recently and I would warn anyone coming to Birmingham not to stay here Take your money somewhere else!!

Based on some past reviews I wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised The lady who checked me in was very friendly The grounds are very nice

They are lit up well at night, and there is a really nice area in between the two buildings that has we’ll manicured landscaping, and some seating The room looked recently updated, and was very clean The breakfast was decent Scrambled eggs, sausage links, muffins, and cereal I would stay here againThere is a deposit required $100 by credit card, or $200 by cash I was happy to do the deposit, because I understand why they are requiring it

Joseph Farr

There’s a lot of nice renovation going on here Looking good But locking the lobby doors at night and making you use a walk up window makes the place seem like a rent by the hour establishment

Many stairs No elevatorsAnd the air conditioner smells musty when running

Kendrick Bracewell

Terrible experience! Pretty much got robbed Did not know I needed a physical credit card to check in Paid for the reservation in full and was not allowed to check in to my room

The front desk would not work with me at all Could not use a picture of my card, Apple Pay verification, nothing They refused to give me a refund Front desk lady was rude They took my money and said sorry goodbye Was very sick and needed a place to rest desperately but met nothing but unreasonable limits as I could easily have verified my card digitally Did not get the room I needed and flushed $80 down the drain but makes no difference to them because they get to keep the money either way To hell with fairness because “that’s our policy”

We were there 4 days last week for a baseball tournamentOur second day there our 12 x14 canopy was stolenWe’ve camped for years and there is an unwritten set of rules The first is if it’s not yours don’t touch it

I find it hard to believe that another camper took it There were canopies everywhere when we went to the Ballgame, but when we got back they were all gone including ours When I asked the operations guy he suggested maybe it had been taken by mistake by operations so I spoke to guest services about it they acted very concerned but never got back with meSince we come home I’ve tried to contact them again but when I get through nobody knows what I’m talking aboutBy the way the canopy’s replacement cost is $150

Rude staff, semi-clean You can tell the rooms were attempted to be updated but it was done very cheaply The shower curtain rod was falling off of the wall, and the bathroom door did not shut all of the way

Skip the breakfast The hallways and elevators smelled like marijuana the entire time we were there Which doesn’t bother me personally, but I know it does bother some people My advice: spend a little extra money and stay somewhere else

Tiarra Bonner

We had to ask for bug spray ! Never again it was horrible dead bugs everywhere and even alive my boyfriend had to kill about 2 or 3 before we even had to ask ! The rooms are nice but I can tell they do not clean up how the suppose to the workers walking around all in men faces and barley cleaning the rooms the Mexicans watching u like a hawk The bed moved over a little a bit and boy it was crumbs and stuff all under the bed

Friendly service, but hotel is way less then we expected Common areas were not adequately air conditioned or cleaned The first three nights (stayed a week) we rode a disgusting elevator

We had three of us, but only 2 bath towels provided If you want extras, you had to beg the front desk Housekeeping did not have towels The room was ‘moist’ There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, leading all the steam to settle in the room The first night present constant dripping from vent over one of the beds, due to condensation The location was ideal for our purpose, so we chose to suffer

Laura Main

I wish I could leave zero stars DO NOT STAY HERE After 6 hours of travel with a 3 and 6 year old, arrived to find that the reservation I made well in advance meant absolutely nothing because the hotel was oversold

I am a Platinum Elite Marriott member (50+ nights annually) and still – no room Although I understand that the front desk staff does not control the booking systems, they could not have been less sympathetic and said they had another 5 Elite members on the way that would get the same message (I advised they CALL those people so they can at least make alternate plans ahead of time) luckily another property 10 mins down the road not only had a room available, but upgraded us to try to make up for the poor service at this property

Rose Brown

I’ve stayed at the hotel every week for the last 5 weeks Every week with the exception of the first week I have had an issue1

Checked into a room that had not been cleaned2 The key marker machine wasn’t working and neither was the air conditioning wasn’t working in the lobby or hallways3 Checked into a room that a guest was still occupying4 Water would not go down in the shower (clogged drain or valve issue)5 A/C unit cover completely off with wires showing, no thermostat on the wall, no power in the room6 Remote not working, clogged sink and tub (same visit as above complaint AFTER they moved me to another room)When I brought these things to the attention of the manager, I mentioned that I have NEVER complained I just simply went back downstairs and asked for another room After being up early and running around the hospital the last thing I want to do is go up and down the elevator packing and unpacking my stuff to change rooms The manager offered me complimentary dinner and breakfast I was told also told I was be given enough bonus points for at least one free night When I checked my bonvoy, they gave me 2,000 measly points They will never have to worry about me visiting this location again I will never go back there I’ve given them my money for 5 weeks straight and that’s how I am showed that I’m appreciated as a customer

The stay wasn’t bad The staff was friendly The breakfast was alright

The hotel needs some updating, hence the 4 out of 5My phone call to book the room was the most horrible experience ever I think they use a third party, at least for when they’re busy If this review was only based on that, I would give it zero stars When I was done w the phone call I was angry and exhausted They took 15 minutes and kept trying to get me to sign up for a bunch of things Plus they were super pushy and when I asked how much the room rate was she made me listen to a whole spiel for 7 minutes before she would give me the price I can’t explain it, you just have to call at a busy time and see for yourself

Betsy Duffy

Read the reviews prior to booking THEY ARE LIES Do NOT book this hotel

1 The room door handle came off in our hand2 The air conditioner leaked all over the floor (3rd floor) Yes The floor under the air conditioner was saturated and we witnessed water dripping down the cord We worried about mold3 Dirty bedspread and holes in the blankets4 The hallway carpets are FILTHY5 The room, hallway, and elevator smelled like smoke6 Mold in the ice machine Obviously we did not useThe kicker was…when we nicely went back to the desk and asked for a different room and listed off the issues the owner was summonsed and stated before we could be given another room she had to see how much of the room we had used WE HAD JUST CHECKED IN!We did not have time to change hotels as we only had one half hour to spare until we were due at the Miss Alabama competitionSeriously Save yourself Do NOT book this hotel

Stayed May 16, 2022 Showed up to our room and the door was already open and tools laying all over the bed Front desk apologized and put us in another room

In that room the bathroom light was broken The room overall was clean and the staff was friendly, but it seems like this hotel needs a ton of upkeep and updates Breakfast was great Waffle maker, sausage, biscuits, oatmeal, eggs, yogurt, fruitAt $135 we were expecting it to be a little nicer One side of the elevator was also broken Housekeeping was knocking on our door at 9:30 while we were still getting ready Based on our experience I would not stay here again If you need to be close to something in this area of town, it’s convenientI would hope for some sort of discount for sending us to a room that is not ready and then sending us to a room with a broken light

Stephanie Beatty

My family and I loved this hotel! We stayed 5 nights and felt very refreshed Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! We just adored Miss Rosie! She was so hospitable The breakfast was top notch! They also have a nice gym! The surrounding area was clean and lots of shopping! If you come to Birmingham for travel this is the place to stay!

Would NOT recommend this hotel Great location, but old and needs to be better maintained Our room never got cool, even though I put temp at 64 degrees

Hair dryer didn’t work Sink was backed up Parking was limited, and felt dark/unsafe in the back/side of the property Bathrooms are TINY No overhead fan in bathroom Loud noise above us that shook the ceiling until 11pm

(Stayed April 22-24) This hotel is a good hotel you can spend a few days at The outside needs some renovations but on the inside ITS REALLY NICE The morning and night clerks were amazing people

The room was a great room 1 con is that the bathroom tile was cracked and needs to be replaced Overall, the hotel is a great place to stay One other thing they have no fitness center The bathroom had no fan to get all that evaporated water out but we survived One funny thing we couldn’t find the blind but we found it the next day lol Thanks Quality Inn for an amazing stay

This hotel sits in a lovely area of town where we could walk across the street for dinner The breakfast was delicious The part that stands out the most though was the staff

From the front desk to the cleaning staff, everyone was so welcoming and helpful This hotel has had a lovely facelift and still needs a little more love to upgrade a few things in the room but those things tend to not matter as much when you have an excellent customer service experience I hope Hampton pays those folks very well for the job they do because as we know, we can’t take folks in the service industry for granted

Michelle Wheeler

Brittany at the front desk was so Awesome! It was my daughters birthday and we drove from Montgomery to celebrate When we walked in we were greeted with a great big smile ! It’s hard to find genuine, kind people anymore so when you do you want to let everyone know they still exist! She made our stay at this Hampton Inn the best! We will stay at this location every time we come to Birmingham! Thank you Brittany for your kindness and your wonderful smile!

miriam joslin

We stay at Hampton’s all the time and they are usually comfortable rooms with all facilities working properly I am not a reviewer normally nor a complainer but my husband and I had to let others know that this Hampton at Colonnade is not a top notch one To begin with, the bed was hard as a rock and squeaked when you turned over, there was no hot water at the bathroom sink and almost nil water pressure in the shower

The way the shower door is arranged you have to get in the shower to turn it on which means you get cold water immediately biting you But because there was hardly any water coming out of the shower, I didn’t get too wetNo Kleenex in holder, lids for coffee cups would not fit, ice machine did not work, etcThe breakfast area was not being run efficiently at all At 9:00am there was 2 syrups left for waffles(which by the way was the only decent food in the area), 2 forks out, no Splenda, etc, etc!Do not waste your money on this Hampton! We don’t complain but had to stop by the desk and tell the manager because it was that bad Her response: “I was not aware of these things and will get someone to check on them “ Have a good day

Had a great time at this place would recommend a visit

The hotel is

it’s fine for a quick overnight stay I wouldn’t suggest long than a night, maybe two It is undergoing renovations at the moment My first room had half the bed hanging off the wall and on the floor My second room was decent There normally is a free morning breakfast, however due to the renovating they are not currently serving breakfast So that’s a downside Front desk gentleman was nice about everything Rooms do appear to be updated However, I COMPLETELY DISAGREE with their pet policy And part of that policy is that if they notice pet hair on any of the furniture or bedding they will charge you extra I can agree with no pets on the bed, but not the fur on furniture or bedding Like, I am very involved with my dog Lots of hugs Cuddles And playtime Occasionally, I will have his fur on me Which can easily transfer to bedding and/or furniture The pet fee per pet is $2000 But that alone should cover pet fur If it doesn’t, then they should charge more You are not allowed to leave your room with your pet unattended And that is hard for 1 person with 1 pet Pets are not allowed to be outside of the room unless being walked on a leash outside So I definitely disagree with their pet policy But overall, the room is decent and the one staff member I encountered was decent 1 or 2 night stay at most is my recommendation

This place in Inverness is pure garbage First, I booked it because it was close to the hospital and it was to late to change after the family member passed away before I got down They are doing construction

The place is near a busy place like a motel! There was no parking and I had to park behind the hotel and lug my stuff to the front trying to miss potholes There were so many air-conditioned units with no covers on the exterior and i thought dear goodness! The attendant was less than happy to greet us The room was with no carpet, sticky Sink by the door, hair in the tub! Bathroom door doesn’t close! Air-conditioned unit smells old! I turned it off after 10 seconds! Towels are dingy! Toilet paper in no holder The bed is on a metal base that sounds like a drum when you move Curtains are old Remote was dust The best thing is I booked a new hotel tomorrow and will be leaving to rest my head in a cleaner place So far it sounds quiet, despite the cars passing

Freddie Bardley

This was one of the most disgusting hotels that I ever had to check into It was filthy from the time we entered Wife had doubts but I convinced her that the rooms just could be better

Once we exited the elevator on our floor you could tell that this hotel was really old and desperately needed to be upgraded (remodeled) well that’s what they say was going on out front of the buildingOnce we entered the room the smell from the chemicals overwhelmed us giving both of us headaches The floor was dirty as if it was mopped with a dirty mop The bed top sheet on one bed had very noticeable stains and the second bed had yellow stains on the bottom sheet(had some slept there prior to our arrival?)After a complete inspection we noticed dead bugs on the floor, mirror broken and refrigerator dirty Smoke detector was also hanging from the ceiling This tells me that they did not clean this roomWe booked this room with our Wyndham rewards points We contacted Wyndham but all other rooms were booked for the weekend because of a big concert and other events going on We eventually found a room at the Drury $$$$$This was supposed to be a good weekend for my wife because she had been in the house for months after major surgery Wife is still suffering from headaches from the chemical smellGot to go see the doctor!!! Wyndham start doing surprise inspection on these hotels that you are booking your customers to stay If your too busy call me I will go do it for you

We had rode over 500 miles on our Harley’s and it was 9pm and this was our target for the evening 👍🏻 We were greeting at the front desk by a very nice young lady and check in was fast and easy We found the room very nice, clean and cool Coffee was available in the breakfast area and had a good hot shower and a great nights sleep

Breakfast was continental as there was an unforeseen circumstance with the hot breakfast but there was plenty of coffee and muffins, toast, cereal, fruit ……etc! Highly recommend this motel👍🏻 We stayed in a first floor room!

Johnathan Stewart

Today is our 1st day so we haven’t been able to experience much with the hotel However location is very good with lots of restaurants in the area Check in was easy and getting to the room was also

When we entered the room it was nice and cold Decent size for 3 people It has 2 double beds and the bathroom sink is in the room because the bathroom is only large enough for the toilet and shower Breakfast starts at 6am daily No gym but the pool area is nice It is located in the front by the entrance Try to get a room facing the front They have a better view of the pool and restaurants We got room 205

Mark George

I’m not sure why this establishment has such a high rating It’s fairly well maintained But it needs cleaned

When we checked in our first room we had to request another room The odor of mold and mildew was so overpowering that we would have had a hard time breathing in it The second room was better, but still had a peculiar odor Also, the bathroom and shower area is smallThe breakfast was poor Basically anything that could be watered down was This includes the coffee, juice, etc Multiple people had issues with the waffle iron And the condiments were old As an example, the honey had crystals in itHaving a mixed experience with so many things, I’m not sure I would return – considering this was one of the more expensive options in the area

Nice, quiet place with a great staff The meeting room served us well for a training facility, on short notice Very accommodating

Very close to many restaurants and storesUpdate (after a total of 35 nights, this year): I am still impressed, and enjoying my stay So impressed, I just reserved a room for another 18 nights

Sara Profitt

Rooms had soaking wet floors, even after not checking in until 10pm Cleaning came in on us without asking and woke us up at around 7am Rooms smelled TERRIBLE

Like burnt wet towels and mildew Shower heads were super gross Elevator broke and we got stuck inside We also see every other person who use the elevator while we were in the lobby get stuck They would just pry the door open and not tell anyone it was broken until the very next day

Joel Sterling

Ok At first I was pleased with the location and upgraded exterior, but it all went south when we entered our room Also, I absolutely understand staffing shortages (everybody has an issue with staffing right now), but the stuff we saw on our room is inexcusable

I will say that the staff at the front desk was pleasant and helpful, so I’ll give them that Our room came with a hideaway bed (sleeper sofa) which we did use Upon opening the sofa, we discovered a mattress cover that hadn’t been changed for months, if ever There was even a used Qtip swab stuck to the cover as well as rust stains (blood ?), hair, other yellowish stains, etcvery grossI requested and received extra sheets from the front desk and made a nice barrier before actually making the bed In the bathroom we discovered toothpaste smeared on the door, a bar of used non-hotel soap in the soap dish, and a tub that drained very slowly It was very late and we had to book this room 45 miles from our destination as all Tuscaloosa hotels were full that weekend, so we stuck it out Otherwise, we would have probably just left I try not to nitpick but I felt these were glaring issues that should have been addressed by the housekeeping staff On a brighter note, the breakfast bar was well stocked, and tasty, especially the fresh waffles

I stayed here with my husband and three small children overnight, while in the area for a dance competition The hotel is located next to a Walmart and among many other businesses, but is also located upwards of a hill so there is a nice hidden feel! The room was clean and had a nice scent when we first walked in The room also had a very cute reading nook by the window, which had a beautiful view of wooded areas

Staff was pleasant, and very friendly Breakfast had an abundance and large variety of food Overall, it was a wonderful experience

$250 deposit We were not told of it at our time of reservation The rooms are clean, with just a few stains on the window seat

The gentleman at the counter was professionalThe pool is small, but still awesomeThe pillows are flatThere is a scratch about knee high on the conjoining door, not a problem just recording itUpdate:I was only aggravated that I wasn’t told of the deposit before i showed up so I could figure it into my trip budgetI had no idea you have had human trafficking at your hotel!I’m changing my star rating from the 4 to a 1 That’s terrifying!!I imagine a human trafficker could pay the deposit easier than me, though I’m just a fast food worker

The older women at the desk was horribly insensitive I had called to reserve a downstairs room due to a disability but when I checked I was told one wasn’t available When I asked her why not she said that a 100 people before me asked for one and it was first come first serve

However, I saw people checking in after me who were afforded down stairs rooms She then proceeded to tell me in an insensitive manner that I could find another hotel if I wanted to Excuse me? What kind of customer service is that? In other words take it or leave it Well not to worry, I will leave it next timeIn addition, they wouldn’t let me check in early nor was the room ready at 3:30 The elevator was out of order, ice machine on the floor was out of order and the phone in our room had no dial tone (we couldn’t contact the front desk if we wanted to) The only decent thing here was housekeeping, they were very apologetic about not having the room clean on time and helpful in providing other assistance

I’ll give it a 3 stars cause it wasn’t a bad experience with the exception that when I tried to enter my room it took forever to get it The door always sounded like it was unlocking but would never open up I almost gave up after the 10th try

And the door to the bathroom would not close Other than that the bed was comfy and the people was nice

I received impeccable customer service from housekeeping Thank you so muchMy stay was booked in advance for 10 days checking out today 6-14

Unfortunately, the female manager called me Friday morning after 11 am stating that my room was booked for Thursday and that the balance of more than $200 was currently due After explaining to her that I was giving a travel agent discount she ask for a confirmation number and who authorized the discount Instead of admitting that the hotel doesn’t offer discounts to agents or they misquoted me and a mistake was made etc I was asked to leave or pay the balance This was a major inconvenience since I was in town to fellowship with my Church Family and personal business as well Go figure Other than housekeeping I wouldn’t recommend this particular location
