I attended a Marriage Retreat during my stay here this past weekend (02/18-02/20) I understand that other guests will be there during this time However, this is one of the WORST experiences in my life

From kids running around in the halls and all times of the night, open beer and alcoholic beverages being left opened around kids from adults in the atrium, to broken elevator switches There was no security on the premises Only one clerk was there overnight during this weekend d The hotel manager NEVER showed up and there was a wedding there as well I mean this was utterly UNACCEPTABLE! How could you not have staffed this correctly? How could not even try to have a maintenance fixonf elevators when you were told that children have been playing with the buttons and causing disruptions Parents acted like they weren’t responsible for their children’s behavior That’s not the hotel’s fault but there needed to be some security or someone to maintain order Kids were knocking on my door at 2 and 3am, just for fun Being charged $370 for what? For this experience? Absolutely not! And on top of that, the hot water for the showers were almost nonexistent Felt like I was washing dishes while washing myself The marriage retreat was awesome The Hotel Experience, was absolutely horrible I strongly recommend you rethink making reservations here The staff tried their best but it was too much to overlook

My family and I have loved going to this hotel for more than a decade, and we’ve all passed the love to our children It is a 👍🏾 place for the kids to swim and enjoy a nice free HOT breakfast, unlike that continental trash offered at other places They are clean and the staff is always professional and nice

I only took off a star because you now have to ask for all housekeeping services and literally beg for towels, which shouldn’t be for those who stay multiple nights

Terrible stay The room was dirty white stains on the chair, desktop sticky Sheets dirty, urine in elevator

Kids with no shirts running all around the hotel,People take my word for it this was such a bad hotel We booked 3 rooms for two nights as we came for a family affair It was so bad I went to front desk to describe the condition of my room but the guy at the desk didn’t care He said no refunds He was very nasty never even looked up We took the loss and notified our credit card company we checked out and went to another hotel and we were able to sleep without feeling dirty This hotel could never get above 2 stars because it’s TERRIBLE

I just wanna start with the cleanliness it was immaculate Then the hospitality and customer service that we received from not only the owner but the employees were amazing So very nice and accommodating

The continental breakfast they provide is not mediocre The owner cooks in the kitchen himself and there were a plethora of options to choose from Pastries, fresh waffles, parfaits, omelets, breakfast meats, toast, cereal, I mean you name it … it was awesome 10/10 would recommend staying here You won’t be disappointed

Pool was gross Bed was bad Noisy AC unit outside window of room 231

I would not have chosen this hotel except it was the only Indoor pool open on a Sunday within 30 min from South Jersey I was hopeful after seeing good reviews Must have overlooked all the bad ones, and there are lots Disappointing for a Hampton InnGood: Clean, spacious room, nice bathroom with new shower (no bath), and hot breakfast with nice man cooking/maintaining itBad: Bed was old and hard Noise outside window sounded like a garbage truck running all night, and the indoor pool was cloudy with garbage floating on the surfaceIt being a Sunday we were one of about 10 people in the whole hotel Robert working the front desk was very nervous about giving us a pool time prior to check in even thought we were the only ones with a reservation that whole day and we were limited to one hour It was very nice of him to prepare our room prior to check in Though it was surprising from other reviews this is known to be one of the worst rooms (231) The room was spacious but I wish I tested the bed before getting in to sleep because it was horrible, but with my child falling asleep and everything unpacked I could not switch rooms at that point Even with a sound machine the noise from the AC unit was so loud it was hard to sleep well The hot breakfast was nice Wish they offered drinking water somewhere in the hotel

Nina Nichelle

Lobby decor was nice Room decor was simple Nice clean room

Only issues were 1 It took a really long time for the water to get hot We Had to run the water for about 7 mins straight before it finally kicked in And the evening lobby attendant was away from the desk for a long period of time when they were needed The Complimentary Breakfast selection was great 4th floor was quiet

Very clean and comfortable place to stay Nicai made sure we where we’ll taken care of and even put a cold beer in my hand as soon as I walked in The lovely lady in the lounge served us meatballs and vegetables for dinner and had served a beautiful breakfast with fresh hot coffee! First time I felt like I was actually on vacation sense we started our trip!

Ana Castillo

For the price it’s ok Not the greatest hotel What made this place good and I gave them an extra star was the people

Staff was extremely nice They worked with us when they switched our rooms without any notice We checked in our rooms and found one room reeked of smoke, they quickly changed it to a much better room Breakfast was ok, my expectation wasn’t high so I wasn’t disappointed Overall I will not be staying here unless I really had to If you go expecting 5 star hotel experience your in for a world of disappointment

Catherine Atkinson

DO NOT STAY HERE Our reservation was not kept This hotel “walked” us to another hotel by calling the day of our stay to say they had moved us to another hotel

However the second hotel had no record of this Went to STAYBRIDGE and the desk clerk told us it was NOT HIS PROBLEM No manager on site despite it being early afternoon Thoroughly disgusted with customer service and no room offered despite having reservation confirmation well in advance Did nothing to help us find a room elsewhere Zero stars, zero chance of booking this chain again

Staff at the front desk was nice and accommodating Location is great The room was dirty

It looked as though the room had not been vacuumed or really cleaned They did give us fresh sheets though Well, on one of the beds The other one was missing sheets when we got into bed and no one was answering the phone at the front desk No shampoo orconditioner in the room (when we called, they didn’t have any so we were given a partial bottle from another room) The AC in the living area had to be serviced and the plugs in the bathroom didn’t work Parking is also sub par Not enough spots for the number of guests Overall, we probably won’t stay here again I can’t imagine what it will look like in a few years with the lack of cleaning!

Lillia W.

When I arrived to my room, it had a strong smell of weed I requested to be moved to another room which was fine but the sheets on the bed in the room were not clean and they only had 1 set of towels I the room After requesting more towels in the morning, they didn’t have any available

We didn’t get towels until that night I have seen much better breakfasts at other hotels as well I expected significantly more from my stay Wouldn’t stay again

Yufang Xi

Being someone who rarely posts negative reviews, I felt very much compelled to give my candid feedback on my experience during the check-in at this hotelWe arrived on Memorial Day morning and was appalled by the rude and impatient receptionist at the front desk The young lady was visibly displeased that she had to cut short her break and attended to us at front desk

She declined to check us in by telling us that my credit card used for reservation, which was already paid in full, was denied by her system to serve as incidental charge card She refused to take another card I proffered and made me call the booking agency I used and resolve the mix-up, which I didn’t quite understand the whole time, by myselfShe made no attempt to display any professional courtesy to make us feel welcomed at all She almost willed that with her horrible attitude we would turn around, walk away and leave her aloneI feel obliged to highlight the incident and the individual since such an occurrence and employee do not belong to the highly regarded Hilton franchise and the hospitality industry in generalThe one star review applies squarely to the above referenced individual Having said that, as a receptionist at front desk she represented the hotel more than anybody else Her behavior and attitude unfortunately reflected very poorly on the establishment she’s supposed to represent

Such a hidden gem, when we needed a hotel to accommodate our family for a five-month stay it satisfied all our immediate needs Nice sleep, meals, fitness and great staff The suite is like an efficiency apartment with kitchen and living room combo

They have a beautiful lobby area with a fireplace and not to mention the business center to take care of any urgent business matters

Pixie Colbert

Reply to hotel response: yes This is the correct hotel They were directing people to park in the planet fitness lot about a block or two away or to park in the slashed lined areas, including the blue handicap spots

They didn’t have any response when we said we will not park in blue slashed areas that are designated for handicap folks to have space to accommodate physical needs while getting in and out of vehicles There also was no diamond member parking which, my guess is it wouldn’t have mattered anyway Initially though, yes probably one of my favorite homewood suites yetOriginal review:Clean nice hotel Breakfast was not good, no meats at all either Not enough parking – they were telling people to park on the handicap blue lines

Hey You Harry was a fantastic host We were in Maryland for a wedding and wanted somewhere different to stay other than a hotel chain We found Elk Forge and we are so glad we did

It’s a wonderful old house with loads of character The rooms were clean, the AC was cold and it was a short drive to the wedding venue We would definitely stay at Elk Forge again Thank you, Harry!

Jacquelyn McCullough

The reason for my 3 star review is the lack of an actual breakfast other than continental items despite their website and signage at the inn saying that they would serve an actual breakfast I would have selected a different bed and BREAKFAST if I had known that this was the case Aside from that, I really enjoyed the rest of the inn

It has a very charming antique feel and lots of cute places to vegetate, read, etc The pricing is also comparable to/lower than most of the reputable hotels in the surrounding area

Deborah Montgomery

I really want to rate this higher, because I have returned here several times I will start by saying that it’s a beautiful place, in a great area It is in Maryland, but right near the Delaware and Pennsylvania lines

We have really enjoyed our experience here before, which is why we kept coming back I think it had been about 4 years since we had visited before returning recently I think because of COVID, they started with contactless check-in and check-out There is a phone in the lobby to reach the owners if needed We had no problem with checking in and finding our room We have always stayed in the least expensive rooms, which are up a lot of stairs on the 3rd floor It was very hot out during our stay this time I was concerned when it was increasingly hot going up the stairs, but it was nice and cool in the upstairs hallway, and in our room The room is fairly small, but adequate There’s a jetted tub, electric fireplace, and TV with Roku in the room There is a bathroom, though the double doors are a little strange, and there was no curtain on the bathroom window It faced the roof, so I guess that was ok, but the sun shone into the room brightly at 6:30 am because of that I would definitely prefer a curtain in the bathroom There’s a dispenser in the shower for soap, shampoo, and conditioner, which was nice The shower never got completely hot, just warm, which wasn’t as niceThe rooms are all decorated with different themes I have enjoyed the decor in every room we have stayed in However, the bed was terribly hard and uncomfortable I do remember having an uncomfortable bed before, but not this bad It was a very fitful and painful sleep, unfortunately This is the very low point of the stay for me I was glad we were only staying one night There are black-out curtains in the room, which I appreciate, but since there was no curtain in the bathroom, which faces the bed, with doors that don’t fully cover, the sun was shining brightly in the room by 6:30 It was ok, since we hadn’t slept well anywayWe went down to breakfast right at 7 The breakfast has always been good, and didn’t disappoint this time There was a wide variety- something for everyone There was fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and granola, make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and an assortment of bagels and bread with a toaster I think the coffee was something like maxwell house, which we didn’t really like We are pretty particular about our coffee, though- and grind ours from beans each morning We enjoyed everything elseThere are 2 paths on the grounds, which we took walks on It was more overgrown than it has been before, but was still pretty nice There’s an area that people can rent out for weddings and such, and we noted that would be pretty All of the grounds, around the house and the rental area, were more overgrown than we have seen beforeThere is a spa if you want to book a massage or something like that during your visit, as well We have never tried thatA couple of other things to note- there are books to borrow, and nice places to sit inside the house in various places In the past, they have had water and hot tea available We were disappointed that wasn’t the case this time Again, maybe due to covid? There were a couple of small water bottles in our room Also, there used to be a shelf of games, and a microwave available to use on the way up to the 3rd floor We had brought microwave popcorn, anticipating that However, neither were there this timeAll in all, I really like this Bed and breakfast It is lovely, and the breakfast is always good However, I don’t think I will return until there are new mattresses in the 3rd floor rooms

The hotel was close to campus and thedesk staff were pleasant There was an awful moldy smell in the hallways (several different hallways, over two days) The beds were okay, but not super comfortable

And, the “restaurant” offering breakfast was all microwaved food Overall, the hotel was clean and the rates were great But, I don’t think we’d return unless other options are sold out

Rawlings Vadanga

Friendly staff, spacious and great location However seems a mismatch to have old thermostats in such a modern hotel, especially if they don’t work Got to the hotel at 11:45 pm after a long drive on a winter night

Thermostat did not work Waited for about 30 mins, no luck It was a close to 1:50 am when I finally got another roomManager told me she would call me since she had just got to work when I checked out She didn’t

Laura Forrester

We checked in for our wedding weekend, and learned they gave our suite away to someone else They put us in a normal room, s offered to charge us for a normal room rate (as if this was helpful so we weren’t paying the suite rate that we booked, no duh) and comped the second night Also not helpful since the suite was supposed to be complimentary on our wedding night since we have the Marriott a 50 room block full of paying guests

Next, I went to my room to sleep for night #1 after a long rehearsal and dinner I just wanted to go to bed There was dirt all over the beds I brushed off before going to sleep I will be sharing pictures with the hotel tomorrow Thanks for ruining my stay and grossing me out during my wedding

We were very comfortable at this hotel The staff is very nice and everyone was accommodating when we needed anything Special shout out to the kitchen staff – the breakfasts are truly outstanding! We stayed for several days over Christmas 2021, and had a chance to sample several of the dishes

Everything is made of fresh, delicious ingredients The portions are generous There’s a range of options; many are super healthy If you’re wondering, I’m not an employee – I live far away: )

This places was disgusting First of all no one seems to ever answer the phone when calling the front desk I checked in on July 2, 2022 for one night

The hallway did not have any a/c and it was extremely warm with a foul odor Upon walking into my room, it had a foul odor as well The bathroom sink had a huge crack in to that leaked onto the under cabinet of sink and onto floor The shower had no grab bars which is a huge hazard especially since the shower door did not close all they way which caused water to gush onto the floor of the shower making your floor towel soaked The couch had stains on it and the carpet looked dirty I paid almost $200/night for my room which I feel like I got robbed bc my room was disgusting This Sheraton must do better especially since they’re charging so much for their nightly rate

Danielle Reily

This hotel was a dump Our arrive check in time was for 3:00PM Our room was not ready until 3:45

When arriving to our room it smelled like someone had smoke a whole pack a cigarettes in there the night before The hotel tried covering it up with some kind of strong spray The pillows the towels everything smelled like smoke The room is outdated Costumer service was horrendous Don’t stay here

This hotel is GREAT especially for the price point! Didn’t cost an arm and a leg Staff was very friendly and helpful The pool was the best part, open from 9AM to 9PM and was extremely clean

3-5 foot so was perfect for our kids The breakfast Buffett had some good options including: waffle maker, bagels, little danishes, yogurt, cereal, hot eggs, sausage and biscuits, a juice machine etc Our room was extremely clean basic amenities I mean nothing extravagant but clean and everything worked Bathroom was fully stocked with towels which I appreciated Beds were comfortable and the pillows as well, clean white linensThe only slight issues we ran in to was the toilet clogging up and not having a plunger to fix it I suggest putting a cheap plunger in the rooms since it happened multiple times also the vending machines didn’t take credit cards like most places do cause a lot of people like myself don’t carry cash around anymoreOther then then that, I loved my stay Thanks for the excellent customer service 😊We will return for sure!

This Comfort Inn & Suites offers spacious rooms The hotel staff is friendly The room was decent just needs a bit of updating

I’m a stickler for my bathroom areas The bathroom presented clean except the toilet needed to be cleaned much better, I don’t like to see urine drops They also offer a typical continental breakfast, I picked up a frozen Jimmy Dean sandwich and coffee since there is a microwave and refrigerator in the rooms Lastly I really didn’t care for the side road location, but on the plus side it’s not in a noisy area

Bobbie Wu

Tried comfort inn for the first time Worst “3-star hotel” ever Won’t come again

1, Loud noises from next door at 5 am in the morning The rooms are connected from inside through double doors which are not sound proof, so by design you can hear people from next door clearly If you are unfortunate like me who has people next door playing loud rap music at 5 in the morning, your sleep will be ruined2, Horrible smell The room I stayed in smelled like somebody just had a pot partyDefinitely stay away from Comfort Inn in the future Other 3-star hotels like the Hampton Inn are infinitely better

I was passing through the area on my way to a work event 65 hours away and my work suddenly called me to say that I needed a particular form printed out when I got to the event, and on Sundays in Delaware most places apparently close at 6pm (it was 8pm)I stopped at this Candlewood in hopes that they would help me out in a bind

Christine Davis, the manager, was very helpful and got me squared away very quicklyBecause of this, if I am ever in the area again I will 100% stay here over anywhere else, and makes me want to stay at Candlewoods over Hampton Inns (my hotel whose printer was broken which started this whole mess)Thanks so much for the help! You guys rock

My family and I stayed here the end of July for a family reunion that was in the area The lobby was clean with plenty of space to chill out and/or watch TV All of the elevators were functional

The pool was small, but it kept the children occupied Our room was clean and equipped with a mini fridge and microwave Continental breakfast offered different types of foods that were good Overall, this place was a good find and I would stay again

Nicole Park

We just stayed in a king room at this Holiday Inn Express & Suites over the weekend The hotel was exceptionally clean Our room was spotless and the bed and bedding were fresh and clean

The restrooms on the main level were also fully stocked and sparkling clean In addition, the décor in the lobby, common areas and guest rooms was updated and comfortable To say I was impressed is an understatement I would highly recommend this hotel when visiting the area and will certainly come back should we pass by this way again

Christina Brogaard

Usually hotel is great But yesterday morning at 9:27, I had my DND up, was getting out of the shower when housekeeping tried to walk into our room I’m not sure why you would try to enter an occupied room with the do not disturb up at that hour

It wasn’t check out time and I certainly wasn’t checked out But we do stay here regularly, which is why I would still give 4 stars But I shouldn’t have to worry about people walking in on you while getting ready for the day

becky price

We were traveling and seen several sketchy places to stay or hard to get to This place was very easy to get to nicely lit Very welcoming and helpful staff

We had been traveling for days and this is the first place we had stopped at that were so nice and helpful Every other place acted like they were doing us the favor by letting us stay there This place made us feel like we were “guest” and they were there to help us I know from now on that I’ll be pulling into the Hampton Inn from now on when traveling The breakfast was extremely typical of any hotel breakfast ever But if you sign up for the rewards thing you also get free snacks It was a very welcoming place after such an exhausting day

They use demand pricing, so the room was very expensive Clearly, no one got that message The beds need to updated – way too soft

They are very short on staff, the food at breakfast is marginal at best, no fitness room, the pool was closed, no housekeeping unless you asked for it and I was not notified of this new rule The bed linens are thin and cheap, the A/C unit is loud For the money – it was a rip off

Great experience I had no reservation and check in service was excellent Staff found me a room and tried to find me the best rate

The room was clean and quiet The facilities were excellent, seem well staffed and safeIf you’re traveling and need a break, I definitely recommendI started at a hotel across the way that was cheaper I would rate that one as zero stars Don’t be fooled by the cheaper rate I was there long enough to check-in, look at the room and facilities, and check out It was dirty, smelly, and did not feel like a safe environmentStick with the Fairfield Inn It is worth the little bit more in price, even for a single night

We stayed here on a Wednesday night on a points stay The hotel was easy to get to and had ample parking We were greeted by the front desk staff and provided a list of restaurants in the area

The front desk staff also asked if we had a preference on room location, we asked for something quiet and he put us on the top floor in the corner We appreciated him asking The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel The only thing I would say is that I thought the beds were a little uncomfortable compared to other Fairfield’s I’ve stayed in We would stay here again

Standard clean, no frills Fairfield brand Not remotely close to the historic part of New Castle Better for a business trip than a family vacation

Right on a noisy state highway; stay on the back side of the building for a better sleep Need reservations for the small pool during this part of the COVID epidemic Very friendly greeting from front desk on arrival
