Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at! By Far! Scary actuallyIf I didn’t already pay online, I surely would’ve left quicklyFor some reason, guests are locked out of the lobby

The check in process is through a little security window, between the double set of doors, a red flag, to say the leastMy room reeked of marijuana, was not vacuumed, sheets had cigarette burn holes and stains in them, furniture and walls were damaged of apparent violence, the door-jamb on the room next-door appears to have suffered damage from a forced entryHad no idea a Wyndham hotel could be this bad

Marlen Wood

This place is, by far, the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in I dislike saying negative things but this place doesn’t deserve kind words at all*Adding to my previous post*

It was nice that the company replied, but that doesn’t change my opinion whatsoever the place was trashy, the room stunk so bad my wife could not sleep i tried to sleep but was too frustrated also, the desk clerk didn’t offer to see if he could refund the 2nd night’s stay, but offeedr apologies that even thought he knew I was frustrated and leaving, that he knew it was prepaid online and non-refundable according to the website It seems to me the company would’ve offered some way to refund the night i paid for but chose not to stay for I could not stay in that place for another momentAll in all, I guess I am the hotel’s best customer ever; one that paid for a room and didn’t sleep in it Ha! That was a valuable lesson learned Again, I’ll never stay in that place again and I can only feel well about the decision if I warn others to avoid this palce

Anthony Dunlap

My biggest complaints are the key cards deactivating randomly, locking me out of the room, and the WiFi that gets less than 1mbps The decor is very outdated, but that’s really not a huge concern If your just looking for a place to sleep and shower, then the price you pay is worth it

Especially if you get it from a Priceline flash deal

My husband and I recently traveled to Cleveland so I could be evaluated for a surgery there, and we picked the J Palen House It was fantastic What really stands out to me is that when we arrived Cleveland had a lot of snow, but the b&b made it a point to shovel out a space for us and put cones down so no one would take our spot

I was just really impressed with the foresight and thoughtfulness to do that for usThere was a plumbing issue with our original room, so they upgraded us to the Palen room The plumbing issue was actually fixed before we arrived, but they still let us stay in the Palen room It was lovely The bed was amazing, I never wanted to leave the tub, the fireplace was cozy, and the food was delicious We had the whole building to ourselves, which was so niceThe one thing to look out for is that our room was on the second floor, and the stairs were quite steep-and the only bathroom we could use was on the second floor It wasn’t a problem for us, but it is something to keep in mind if you have severe mobility issues However, as there are other rooms that don’t require stairs, I wouldn’t see it as a deal breaker for anyone staying I’m sure all of the rooms are wonderful to stay inWe’ll actually be traveling to Cleveland again soon for my surgery, so we’ll probably stay at the Palen House again then

Diane and Doug were great! We stayed in The Roost, which was very rustic and unique My wife and I both loved it The breakfasts they served us were absutely delicious

They laid out rose petals and towel swans for my wife, our 4 month old we brought along, and myself I was even able to pay them to get a dozen rozes and chocolate covered strawberries ahead for Valentine’s Day This trip was perfect If you need food recommendations, make sure to ask them as well We used 3 of their recommendations and were not disappointed in the least Highly recommend this experience!

Kelly Textoris

We stayed in “The Roost” during our last visit to Cleveland and absolutely loved everything about it The room was so comfortable and had everything we needed The bed was amazing! Diane our host made fresh delicious cookies for us and breakfast

Such a neat house to stay, great getaway for a pleasant date night! The craftsmanship of the house is stunning, very clean rooms with comfy beds! Hailey the host was such a nice person to deal with booking the room The one mishap that we had wasn’t the fault of the house, room, or Hailey however she did handle that mishap right away if I could I would rate this place with 10 star rating, very pleased with our stay!

Lori Lovell

Thoughtfully furnished, Evelyn’s room provided everything we needed for a refreshing stay The sheets were incredibly soft, antique furniture beautiful, and the jet tub a pleasant surprise The room overlooks a private garden with a small pond

Very cleanBreakfast was wonderful, too – I’m still talking about the bacon-mushroom quiche days later We will definitely be back – thanks Hayley!

Margie Niemela

Was booking as a surprise for my husband I made reservations online This would be our first time at a B&B

I called n left a message as I had questions No response I tried a week later and still no one answered I emailed to cancel my reservation since no one called me back(I didn’t want to get there and not have a place to stay) I explained my experience Got a quick response “no problem, your reservation has been cancelled “ no apology, nothing! Not sure how they are a “5 star” place! Just wow!

The area was very nice and quiet and secluded Upon entering the Glidden House, we were mesmerized by the decor and furnishings We were welcomed warmly

Our New Years Eve was amazing thanks to Tony the bartender and the rest of the great staff Lots of attractions and restaurants nearby so our trip made great memories The rooms in this hotel are beautifully kept up and inviting Definitely would return for another couple nights!

Tony Loret de Mola

Had the pleasure of staying at this gem while visiting Cleveland It was a wonderful experience Rooms were comfortable

The staff was great Breakfast the next day was terrific and the person that cooked the breakfast was also the overall director She was delightful! It was just her third week at Glidden She’s a wonderful example of someone who takes pride in what they do and in meeting the needs of her customers

Bas Debbink

Wanted to go to the Rock and Hall Hall of Fame on the way back from Detroit (by car) and decided on the Glidden House to spend the night I am glad I did as it’s a wonderful place in the middle of the University Campus with lots of food choices within walking distance and only a 10 minute drive to the R&RHoF The rooms were very comfy, if a bit noisy due to the creaking floors (upstairs neighbors), but the suite was very roomy and the microwave and fridge were very welcome

Breakfast was fairly standard but tasty All the staff were very pleasant and helpful This seems to be a popular place for conferences and weddings also, and for good reason

Clean, comfortable, modern My husband and I enjoyed a private room with private bath during a night away with friends We were just a few steps away from great restaurants and bars

The West Side Market is just across the street Breakfast and coffee downstairs in the morning was delicious Oh, and the view from the rooftop bar is amazing!

I checked the online ratings and saw a lot of good reviews So, I booked a room at Cleveland Hostels for my family which was a nightmare Maybe we expected too much after the good reviews but I would not recommend this place to anyone

There was no clear instruction on how to check in and out They didn’t have receptionist and the hostel didn’t have elevator and we had to carry our heavy bags upstairs The bathroom was dirty and the blankets were dragging on the floor which I didn’t find safe with the pandemic going around It wasn’t worth the amount they charge I am writing this thinking they might give better service for the future guests There are so many other good hotels around the same area Hopefully some people find my reviews helpful as well

Jen Bushnell

We had a wonderful stay at the Cleveland Hostel and Guesthouse We enjoyed socializing in the shared kitchen and common area We stayed in a private room with an en suite bath and it was very clean and comfortable! We did not get a chance to check out the rooftop patio so we will be sure to book another stay to fully take advantage of it and the beautiful view!

James was a Truly Wonderful Host! His Breakfasts were Top Notch, complete with Fresh Fruits every day His ” Welcome Party” of Henry the Dog and Wesley the Cat added to the fun We had an upstairs room with gables, fireplace, microwave and refrigerator

So relaxing and peaceful Just what we needed His location was very convenient to many restaurants and markets Would Highly Recommend Clifford house BB! Thank you James for A Wonderful Stay!

Kit Whitaker

You won’t be sorry picking The Clifford House for a very personal experience with a fantastic host All of Ohio City is within walking distance, & Jim knows the area like the back of his hand – there is something for anyone’s preferences there We had always stayed in downtown Cleveland before, & it seemed like we were Uber-ing to Ohio City all the time, so our decision to actually stay in Ohio City this time was a no-brainer, & Jim’s B&B was the best choice for an accommodation – the amenities were out of this world (blueberry muffins – mmmmmm)

We would/will stay there again without hesitation Thanks, Jim!

RJM

Great B&B in an awesome location Close to all sorts of restaurants and bars, but off the main street so it is quiet Jim is a super host with lots of neighborhood knowledge and plenty of recommendations

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful – great coffee, juice, pasties, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, and blueberry waffles! And Henry (the dog) was a true gentleman

We pulled in with our 39 foot Motor Coach and no one there was the slightest concerned They said it was no problem at all When I said we would be completely unloading it and putting everything into storage, they said no problem

When our room was overlooking the highway so very noisy, she moved us to the back side overlooking our coach When we needed to leave it there an extra day to continue unloading it before we turned it in for some repairs, he said not a problem Both the day and night desk people were so helpful and pleasant On top of that, the room was nice and clean I highly recommend the staff and facility

Melissa DelBoccio

I love eating here The chef is amazing

Everything I order is always delicious, seasoned perfectly, and perfect temperature A few times I’ve asked to speak with him and he’s been so kind and has great manners You should offer to go orders just with his food Even if we don’t stay at the hotel, cuz his food is the best! The rooms are what you’d expect for a Holiday In but are nice I wish you’d be able to go outside on the balcony on the 4th floor but I understand whyAlso, it would’ve nice to have an indoor pool but the outdoor pool is super niceThe staff is very sweet and I’d definitely come back

Roxanne Cross

Decent hotel, gives me an outdated vibe Somethings looked old, especially the furniture in the rooms and my room smelled funny I also hated the shower only has one door so the floor was getting really wet

Loved they had a pool, it’s outdoor but still pretty nice The clerk was super helpful in helping us navigate the area Overall I would go back if I needed a hotel in the area again

The super 8 is not really a great hotel but in emergencies was not too bad for the price The front clerk was very friendly but could hardly understand her English made it hard to communicate The one room that we got was tidy and clean but did not have any towels in it

The room that I have gotten was tidy but walls were dirty no outlet covers faucet and the shower was damaged no toilet paper or tissues Also there was no smoking rooms but for the price what do you expect I think the bill came up to be like 40 $ I was getting ready to leave this place and was going around the back of the building to go pick up an associate that came with me and this is what I seen so I have to edit this look at the last picture you’ll love it Oh and another thing It says it has a pool no that’s not It is destroyed no pool many take that off their advertisement And also no Continental breakfast if I ever stayed here again I’d have to be for free

Sandra Sandra

We booked two rooms Room 313 was decent, no fridge or microwaveRoom 315 was dirty, the foul odor was unbearable

We asked for a different room Receptionist lady was nice and helpfulRoom 205 was decent, but didn’t have towelsNo breakfast The swimming pool is demolishedOn the positive note, we paid only 120$ for 2 rooms for one night stay and our personal belongings in the back of the truck reminded safe over nightThis used to be a decent place once upon the timeToo bad management is not willing to invest money and little TLC- it would make big diference

Robert Hedrick

My friend tried staying here to visit on vacation, first night he checked in and the room had not been cleaned from the last guest, upon coming back the room was “cleaned” but was still quite dirty and made him uncomfortable to stay in and he ended up finding somewhere else to stay Staff was polite and helpful with his issues, but conditions were unexceptableYou’d probably be more comfortable and definitely cleaner sleeping in your car, stay here at your own risk

Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I have started staying at B&Bs instead of hotels when traveling, and this one was definitely one of our favorites The room was decorated beautifully and very clean The snacks and drinks available were convenient, and most of all, the breakfasts were delicious

Catherine and Kevin were so friendly; they were fantastic hosts! We were visiting my husband’s home town and next visit, I hope we’re able to stay here again

Leah Black

This bed and breakfast is fantastic! Beautifully decorated throughout, the cleanest rooms, and incredible hosts! They were extremely accommodating of my late and ever changing arrival time since I was driving across the country Fabulous allergy-friendly homemade breakfast with coffee and juice in the morning at a time of my choosing Comfortable, luxurious beds, very clean, well-appointed bathroom with a large shower

I had everything I needed and more, all while my Tesla charged overnight on the property I will definitely be back! A true 5-star experience

Brittany Cornelius

My husband and I celebrated his birthday weekend at Riverside Gables last month and it was just the peaceful getaway we needed as new parents The room was sparkling clean, the service was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious The house was filled with quaint charm and our candle lit breakfast table set for two had such a romantic feel

We loved strolling down the road to Mikes Bar and Grill for some good food and drinks and then enjoyed a very quiet night We hope to visit again soon!

Great location and ease of access back to the freeway if needed Clean hotel Small gym, but was able to get a workout in

Had great business area, and nice rooms Mine had a balcony so that was a double win Highly recommended if you’re on the west side of Cleveland I will also point out my room was by the ice machine and elevators and I didn’t hear a thing

Peter Negron

This location is very convenient for me however this particular hotel is in serious need of a great cleaning The carpets in the rooms are a NO GO and the showers are not scrubbed properly I found the folks there to be pleasant but the state of the rooms was not very good

The shower soap fixture fell off the wall during the evening which after inspection had been repaired multiple times due to the amount of caulk used as an adhesive

Craig Evans

Room was clean and comfortableGym had a couple of treadmills, an elliptical, bench, and various weightBreakfast was overpriced and previously frozen

I think it was $7 for a 4 oz, pre packed fruit cup and one of the smallest breakfast sandwich’s I have ever orderedFriendly staff Plenty of parking, easy off/on I90 A number of restaurants serving lunch and dinner next to hotel

We had a wonderful stay at Wallace Manor! The house was beautiful, clean and exactly what we were hoping for! Scott was an excellent host – he prepared delicious breakfasts and we enjoyed all our conversations He also offered great recommendations on things to do in Cleveland We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Cleveland!

This was the perfect place to stay It has the quality of a premium hotel with the comfort of a B&B Scott was the most gracious of hosts and easy to talk with

He makes a wicked French Toast! When we asked about recommendations for dinner, the one we chose was within walking distance and very good We enjoyed the stay so much, we even discussed spending an extra night I’m willing to take a weekend trip to Cleveland, just to stay here, at Wallace Manor

Blessed Road Inc

I hate to complain, because I’m always grateful to find a place where I can park my truck, and bring my pets Also, Knights Inn has the least expensive pet fee anywhere However, there was clearly someone living in the room for quite a while, prior to my stay, because the walls were filthy, and I had to wash my feet, before I could go to bed, because of the dirty carpet

Even my cats were leaving dirty paw prints I’d recommend the carpet just be totally removed, in the future That being said, I’ll still probably return, next time I’m in the area, because of the reasonable rates
