The road in is not well maintained, it’s full of potholes Should have been red flag #1 Lobby/common areas are filthy, staff was abrupt

Room was okay Bed was comfortable That’s it Room was outdated, stained, dead bugs smashed on walls Hair in the shower The worst part was when I went to shower this morning, and the water in the shower didn’t work Wouldn’t turn on Didn’t have time to complain to staff, so just left in a hurry I’ve stayed at hostels better than this

This place is ghetto don’t let the Livonia part fool you… this hotel needs a deep clean and some professionalism I’m not even understanding why they want a deposit for their rooms and the rooms need a whole makeover do not recommend! Oo and the breakfast was muffins and dirty tasting juice … I’ve never had a experienced like this it comfort inn

Amazing front desk employees! I was warmly greeted, offered snacks and drinks, and informed of their complimentary breakfast Allowed to select my location/room, which was promptly ready Crisp sheets, cool room and very clean bathroom – with a tub! Housekeeping works well here and I’m very appreciative

I booked my room immediately to extend for my business stay for a month+ Quiet, can sleep well, and certainly safe Thanks to @Hilton and the staff at this Hampton!

Google User

Knocking off just one star for lack of cleanliness The room smelled heavily of urine And there were hairs, little bits of garbage, dust, and dirt visibly in the room

But everything else about the hotel was good Staff, price, availability, parking, location, etc which is hard to find Our room was very close to the front door, so that was convenient Please work on the cleanliness of the roomsI should be leaving a much lower star review for this! I’m only not doing so because everything else was very good!

I have been a Hilton guy for some time but this Hampton Inn has me thinking about some thingsMy family and I arrived on Wednesday for our family reunion First thing I did, as I always do, I looked for the Do Not Disturb sign

But unlike any other time, I could not locate one I saw a small amount on doors as we were going to our room I called the front desk and was told they do not have them No worries because housekeeping does not come into your room unless it is requested, they saidFast forward to Sunday, my wife is in the shower and I am laying in bed All of a sudden, the door opens, a woman with red hair steps in and then walks back out Did not knock, no one requested anything No my question is, when did they come into the room before? Why did they come I to the room? I called the front desk and said they would talk to the staff The conversation is being had because they were caught What if we weren’t there? Not acceptable!!!

Worst hotel ever!! Do not stay here!!! I checked in despite the smell and ugly appearance of the place and it was a terrible mistake I went to the room and the window was broken, it smelled awful, there were stains on the bed and a pipe under the mattress I immediately left was there all of 15 minutes

The receptionist pretended that she didn’t know me when I tried to get a refund the following day via cellphone because she charged me for the entire stay It was a very exhausting and frustrating situation! If I could give this place negative stars I would!

Ryan Putnam

SERIOUSLY, DONT STAY HERE I ignored the reviews when I booked because it was only 38 dollars a night and that was a massive mistake Staff was nice, but unfortunately the whole hotel smells of weed and cigarette smoke, is very dirty and worn down

It doesn’t look like the pictures at all Location was safe enough and we never felt unsafe in the hotel (though our physical deadbolt didn’t work), but the whole place was very dirty Our room was full of stains, crumbs, and even our sheets had a dirt stain on them Our shower had a chunk out of it and did not drain properly either Please choose to stay somewhere else unless the cleanliness and smell issues are fixed

Modern Goddess Mary Faith

Disgusting When I came here nothing was wiped down But I asked for them to clean my room and they didn’t show up on the planned time

I had then to go to an appointment and they entered in when I told them I would reschedule WITH MY DAUGHTER INSIDE and they weren’t supposed to clean with anyone inside especially a kid When they cleaned they only halfway vacuumed, replaced the sheets, and some towels I asked for them to finish vacuuming or if I can vacuum myself and was told they only have maid service once per week! Got bit by something and have huge marks all over my ankle and it’s itchy Dirty and 🤮 nasty! Never coming here again Website lies and say they have a pool, not true Front desk guy was nice but that’s only good thing here Very loud guests And I was given a room with a broken door! Old everything and outdated like the 70s Could hardly give out shampoos and conditioners most the time Had to bring my own towels down to the lobby “New” Towels smelled like vinegar So sickening A very unorganized business Don’t know how they are still operating 🤦🏻‍♀️ and no breakfast!!!!!

Gustavo Medina

I stayed here for spring break (8 nights, 3/19 to 3/27) and the bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows I didn’t have any issues with bugs in my room, but the room constantly had this smell of cigarette smoke lingering inside I got headaches from smelling it all the time

Some parts of the wall had paint that cracked and split away, simply hanging offI didn’t use the coffee maker or the mini-fridge, but they were really loud It kept me up the first night, so I shut it off for my trip I didn’t really need to use them anyway The sink worked, and the shower did as well, but the water temperature could use some better control It got too hot to use, and too fast as well Towels, soap, and toiletries were adequately providedOne quirk about the inn is that housekeeping does not come in unless it is requested I did not use these services, so I cannot speak on themThe receptionists were pretty helpful with checking in and out of the room, and they even helped me out when my keycards weren’t working as intended Only took two minutes to get a new set of cards It’s a good place on a budget, and it’s very close to many stores, shopping plazas, and the freeway Very affordable but it could use a touch-up

Lazayne’s Eats

Bed bugs spotted!!!!!No sleep at all! Slept in chair Fear of getting bit to death by bed bugs

Very noisy at night Hallway smells unpleasant Need cleaning Room was not non smoke like I requested! It reaked of old smoke! Buyers be ware!!!!!Need deep cleaning through out whole place!Staff rude No supervisor on staff at night to help employees solve customer issues I called desk in the middle of the night with bed bug issue and no help or solution was givenNo solve No mgr on duty to help no rooms available to move me to, so no sleep! Was up all night bug watching!! I want a full refund plus some for having to suffer through this inhumane condition and no sleepAnd manager won’t be available til 11am the rude fast talking front desk girl said Never again will they get me like this!!!Hope they don’t get y’all eitherSignedJust disappointed ☹️😞

Clean, beautiful units, pleasant garden area and common area similar to an English Bed & Breakfast Safe & easy to access parking lot that’s secured Cafe next door for any quick bites or coffee/tea, and community gardens next to cafe

Kind staff Also there are random events like Jurassic Park movie night in Greenhouse with free snacks and drinks – very cute!

Benson May

Lovely experience overall Exactly as pictured, our room was exceptionally clean and well stocked with numerous cute welcome snacks/tea/coffee All-stone shower was a highlight

We stayed in the room with bunk beds and an in-suite bathroom, the space was perfect for two and felt spacious with the separate dining table under the bay windows! Each staff member we met was friendly and excited to share restaurant recommendations and advice about Detroit, and helped make our experience five-star!

Sharla Hunter

Stayed at the El Moore Lodge for New Years Eve 2021 and this hotel is very nice The secure parking was definitely a plus as well as how to access everything upon arrival I stayed in the Moonbeam Cabin and it was exactly like the pictures online

For anyone who stays here in the future they do offer Netflix and Youtube TV The views are spectacular and I would definitely stay here againThe only downside I would say is not being able to access other streaming apps such as Hulu when doing so it asked for a pin, also no phone to be able to call downstairs if needed

I can’t believe how incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable my two-night experience here was Only out of respect, because there are people of color running this place, will I save the details I will never step foot in this establishment again, if I can help it

Do yourself a favor and spend an extra 20/30 bucks for a quiet nights rest and a more sanitary and cozy stay I’m assuming that you worked hard for your money, so you deserve better than this for yourself

Tyler Purcell

If you can, please reconsider spending money here I had no real issues with staff, but the room itself smelled like a black lungALSO, be prepared to have cash on you if you’ve already booked and can’t cancel

They have a mandatory $25 non refundable ‘convenience fee’ I spent $121 for one night of an anxiety packed night of loud music, loud banging, vulgar language outside of the room off and on from 10:30pm-7:00amThere is a lot of criminal activity going on at this place To the hotel’s defense, I should’ve known better than to book a hotel off of 8 mileDo yourself a favor… Pay the extra $ for the Hyatt or book an Air BNB

Lonnay Ferguson

DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY !!!! If I could give this -10 stars I would This place was so disgusting and sketchy I couldn’t believe it But to be honest I didn’t realize it was on 8 mile

Everybody (the staff, guests) had a major staring problem As soon as you walked in it smelled like straight weed The room itself wasn’t clean at all There were stains on the walls from some sort of drink, empty black & mild wrappers, a wet washcloth in the bathroom, and to make it worse they didn’t provide any new toilet paper that was wrapped The toilet paper that was there was unwrapped and clearly used I couldn’t relax the whole time and was so happy to be gone the next morning And it was janky that we had to give $100 refundable deposit in cash only or $25 non refundable on credit And if you gave the $100 cash apparently they can only refund you during the week days (M-F) …make it make sense because it don’t

Nice place It’s really cheap if you get the dorm style room The bunk bed rooms are the same cost and quality as a Motel 6 or Days Inn but smaller

Not sure about the single bed rooms Feels very home-like but also feels like a place for travelers It’s about a half hour walk or 5-7 minute drive to downtown It was kind of cold last time I went though, I woke up a bit cold and the hot water in the first floor bathroom didn’t seem to work right

I stayed at Hostel Detroit for three nights in October 2021 Any time I texted or emailed with staff it was always a helpful experience and I felt supported with my questions Being still in coronavirus times, the place was fairly empty so I didn’t see but one other guest while I was there

Someone was playing loud music to make up for the lack of other guests my first night, but I was exhausted and didn’t ask if they’d mind turning it down after quiet hours started I had rented a private room to have a “home base” for my stuff, which was a good decision regardless, though I ended up not needing it for privacy 🙂 shoutouts to Stevie the bike, I put it through miles of Detroit roads I tried eating at several of the places recommended by the hostel and all were great I love hostels and I loved that HD had private rooms for those of us who want the social aspect without necessarily needing a luggage lock when we leave I appreciated this strange time for what it was, but look forward to when I can hear people from around the world talking about their lives again

I was in town for a business meeting and taking care of some needed time within the city of Detroit I really hated to give the hotel this lowest rating due to the nature of our country’s pandemic situation But here is why: the room(s) were or at least the room my family and I stayed in were horrible!1

The mattresses were very stained2 Pillows were stained and very old3 The floors are very substandard, very stained, embedded with mildew stains, dirty and old food stains4 The bathroom has an old odor that wreaks lack of detailed deep cleaning4a Bath tube: Stained to deep permanent dirty marks4b Bathroom walls: cobwebs in corners behind door and behind toilet4c Bathroom towels and face rags: they appeared as though they were used to clean the rooms with and then washed Stains on the towels and rags revealed these suggestions5 Bed spread: dirty, stained and needed to be washed6 Refrigerator: food and food spill stains, thick ice build-up in ice tray compartment Food from previous guess left on floor and in refrigeratorWhat I did to correct the problems: deep cleaned the room myself with Disinfectant@ deep cleaned refrigerator@ deep cleaned shower walls and tub@ deep cleaned all furniture@ striped bed to mattress: Disinfected and fumigation of entire sleeping area@ deep cleaned chairs and table tops and storage compartments@ deep cleaned bathroom door@ deep cleaned sink area, mirror, countertopEnding results: My wife and daughter was very pleased and decided to lay down on the beds and relax They also sat in the chairs to eat our ordered meal We also enjoyed a movie on Netflix (I brought with me my laptop) Minus the old and very used linen that we rewashed and rebloused the mattresses with we still went to Walmart and purchased our own linenPersonal humble suggestion: Management need to recheck all rooms after cleaning to ensure that needed and frequent guest are accommodated with the needed tools to maintain their healthy stayCheck-out: stripped off all linen from beds released room, took out trash, ensure all areas were cleaned within our room, left a money tip for the day Cleaning room personnel Reason: we arrived after 7:00pm and on the weekend This is to ensure the cleaning personnel had a good reference what a clean room should look like and smell like for all rooms

Poca

My sister booked a room for us here We walked in the room and walked right back out It was disgusting! And disgusting is an understatement

Nasty stained mattresses, dirty nasty chair, dresser was broken and dirty Standing in there made us itch Beds were broken, lamp rusted and it definitely wasn’t cleaned properly or at all for that matter Definitely will never recommend anyone saying here EVER!

Rich Lawrence

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and I wish I could have given this hotel a better rating but the room was disgusting After a long 7 hour drive from Chicago, we just needed to rest The mold in the shower was clearly present

A drawer was missing from the dresser Parts of the walls in the room and bathroom had fallen off This room should have never been rented to a customer The only things that were clean were the sheets/pillowcases and even those were questionable because there was hair on them and I’m bald This place needs a lot of help and I don’t see myself ever staying here again

Ticara Cook-Hill

First my husband and I was excited about the prices and what the room offered until we checked in the room There was no microwave or refrigerator, the maintenance man was contacted to locate one for the room The key works when it wants to

There was stains on the comforter and the sheets has holes in them The lamps in the room has a lot of rust on them It was a hot mess, I do not recommend that anyone stays in this hotel unless you are prepared Also there was no phone in the room to contact the front deskNEVER EVER EVAAAA EVA STAY HEREI RATHER SLEEP IN MY VEHICLE

Kimberly Gillespie

The rooms aren’t bad, but the customer service experience was horrible In order to rent a room you must make a cash deposit Apparently in order to get your deposit back you need to bring back a copy of your check in receipt (I was not verbally told this by the person who checked me in and it isn’t written anywhere on the premises)

When I went to check out the rep informed me I couldn’t have my deposit until I found the paper I brought up the fact it wasn’t written on the paperwork detailing the deposit process; he said it didn’t matter because no one reads it (he also told me “thank you for me telling him how to do his job”) When I came back with the paperwork his response was “that wasn’t that hard was it” I took back my deposit and told him he was horrible at his job He stated he was going to ban me from the hotel, good thing I plan on never coming back Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had

OMG, where do I start

This hotel and staff are absolutely amazing Upon first walking in I was a little worried Out initial greeting was not the best but that was all We were here for 12 days The GM Ms Joanna, Ms Sasha, Matt and others in restaurant, the front desk staff as well as house keeping All of the lovely individuals working at the hotel made our stay that much better We did not have one need that went unmet Most times staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed Whenever in town this will definitely be our go to hotel Thanks IHG family

jessica bradley

The pool was so dirty that when I complained they had to close the pool No one knew who was responsible for cleaning the pool Uncleanly

No manager on site to assist with anything Even the staff member at the desk said she wouldn’t stay there It was so bad that I checked out right after checking in rather than sleeping there I WAS NOT refunded! I will not be staying at a Holiday Inn again Such a terrible experience! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I stayed in this hotel many times before Usually when the manager is working, everything seems to be alright as she is much more accommodatingThis time my experience was not so great

I came for a business stay The moment I entered the room, there was an odd smell I thought positive and said it’s probably air freshenerThe shower had just barely any pressure, I’m not sure if they’re trying to save on bills but this is not what I expectedThe sink in the room needs attention, the handle slowly turns off the waterSome guests were having a ball right outside the hotel and you can hear them playing music, talking, and laughing pass midnight (12am) The hotel staff did not do anything about itFinally I wanted to leave a day early and asked if I could have a late checkout, the front desk lady said no because the rooms are booked She asked me to check out at 11:00am and not even a minute later

D Royal

I rarely leave reviews at businesses, but this one, everyone and everything across the board was excellent! Very clean establishment, good ac/heat units, nice beds, hot breakfast (self prepare), gym, shower is good and hot, Buddy’s Pizza is NEXT DOOR plus other eateries are very close by, I could go on and on Best hotel for my needs, I will highly recommend!

Zaneta McCatty

Customer service was great from beginning to end The rooms were dated and just didn’t display the cleanliness we’d hope for The ottoman definitely looks like someone had a happy ending, this was here when we entered

The material coming from the bottom of the couch may seem small to se but to me it’s avoiding a charge for something you didn’t do The heat didn’t work properly unless it was blasting The only noise you could hear was a family having a good time to what sounded like spades (you could only hear them when walking past their room)all I know is they had a good time and he made his books 😂 We had a bit of a snafu and forgot something and again customer service was spot on We were called back about a coat they found in one of the rooms, so like a good mom oi retrieved it only to find out it was not one of the kiddos that joined us but that they found that coat already in the room 😳🤔 How if the rooms are to be cleaned thoroughly after a guests checks out? Aha! It wasn’t cleaned properly which is how a coat was still in there unless it was the workers who had a “happy ending” 🤷🏽‍♀️

First let me say Dennis who checked us in was so amazing and friendly! He let us check in early and he upgraded our room Then Alexis who also works at the front is the sweetest most helpful front desk worker I’ve ever encountered She was so helpful and just flat out professional and knows her job! I needed something fixed in my room as soon as I told her it was like maintenance was already at my door

My husband and I have stayed in many hotels and the staff here is hands down the best we’ve had the pleasure of meeting They’ll work with you and they are caring and kind You guys are great and keep up the amazing customer service!

After staying here for about 2 months straight I have to say this place is nothing but problems Rob in the office likes to try to overcharge then argue with you that the price you were quoted online is wrong and the beds and towels are usually covered in hair Not to mention the night I had to switch rooms because of roaches

One day I paid to extend my stay another night and got a call the next day saying the money was being returned to my card so I payed again and over a month later still have not seen my money come back to me (which they put me on the do not rent list for) When talking to the “manager” about this issue I told him I had to file a dispute with my bank then he tells me “if I get a charge for 70 something dollars then you will be in big trouble” Very professional! Now a few days after leaving the motel I get a 95 dollar charge to my card I called the office and got the “managers” personal phone number and of course I get no calls back and after stopping in there they say they have no charges in their system Overall I am very disappointed with the management of this place and now have almost 200 dollars in charges that they apparently never recieved and now am thinking about talking to a lawyer about getting trying to get my money back If you are thinking about staying here do yourself a favor and stay at best western The rooms are nicer and they have a pool for the same price of this shady motel

Okay so my husband and I have been staying at this hotel for about 3 weeks now, and we’ve never had any issue Pam is great!!! Tonight on the other was a very different story The guy at the front desk ROB was very disrespectful and unpleasant

From arguing with us and not even understanding what we are saying ,and laughing literally laughing in our faces I used to love this hotel but after tonight I’m feeling completely different We spend way to much money there to be treated with such ignorance I hope someone higher up will have serious talk with this kid, And remind him what customer service is all about other then that the rooms are always clean and staff is usually very friendly
