The reason I gave 5 stars already on our first night is based mostly on staff The front desk greeter was super nice I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name

We had a few glitches with our key reader to our room and Tammy was absolutely fantastic She was on top of it and she got everything in line Tammy also personally checked our pillows & switched out the down pillows since I’m allergic She was very quick and efficient The room is spacious with our king bed and big bathroom Definitely looking forward to the rest of our stay!

The rooms were very clean, the employees were very nice and helpful but we stayed there 2 weeks and in the last weekend there were a bunch of teenagers running, yelling, slamming doors over and over and over again and playing basketball until almost 1 am I called the front desk around 11 pm and asked the gentleman that answered the phone to please go upstairs ro the third floor to hear all the yelling and basketball playing and put an end to it because my sister and I had to get up early to be at the hospital for training at 7 am Well we waited and waited for the man at the front desk to go upstairs or call them but he literally did nothing and the noise finally stopped a little past 1 am

So the next morning when we were leaving looking like zombies I stopped to tell the lady at the front desk and she already knew what I was going to say and she said “I did hear what happened, but don’t worry they’re all gone” So I said that if it happened again to move us to another floor because we were there to sleep But the rest of the time before that weekend everything was perfect

Literally the most comfortable hotel I have ever been too And I’ve been too a lot of hotels Feels like your home

Nice beach view Great breakfast Breakfast was cold and hot foods Private room with a door, great for privacy when you have kids They have everything I was so at peace and it’s such a zen vibe Friendly staff Definitely worth EVERY PENNY!! highly recommended If I could give it 1000 stars I would

I was so excited to stay at this hotel I have previously had happy hour at the restaurant and I love historic hotels, I stay in them frequently I also travel for work so I’m traveling 50% of my time

Check in was easy, the front desk was always great however, the room was just sad It was empty with not just outdated furniture but old, worn furniture It feels like how I’d imagine moving into a fixed income, furnished one bedroom apartment would feel I wouldn’t sit on the couch The bed I had was comfy though No blackout curtains The walls were incredibly thin The people next to me kept me up all night listening to them vomit Sounded like maybe they had a stomach bug, hope they feel better I recommend playing white noise on your phone to drown out the sound of partying and thin walls They don’t provide any water bottles or drinking water even upon check in Parking was horrible They have 2 very small lots that they share with the public so it’s unlikely you’ll get a spot during peak hours One day i just drove around for an hour until someone left The hot water for the shower took 20 minutes to turn even remotely warm One morning I waited 30 minutes and it was still cold, I chalked it up to being out of hot water so I took a cold shower and by the time I was getting out, it was starting to turn warm If you have anywhere to be, start your shower WAY earlier I was late to a business meeting due to this Housekeeping ignored the do not disturb sign on my door and cleaned my room anyways It doesn’t just seem old, it’s musty and dusty It’s just dirty feeling At one point the hallway smelled like throw up Stuff piled up everywhere for guests to see Again, I stay in historic hotels all the time and this is not well kept up with The beach access was really nice The staff was really nice I absolutely loved all of the bar tenders Seriously can’t say good enough things about them The upstairs restaurant is wonderful But I won’t stay here again

The most charming of spaces

if you can find in the middle of the ugly Daytona-like high rises, you will be delighted with this fancy, old Florida (Spanish) hotel Sitting on the beautiful patio with a lavish (albeit self-serve) breakfasthelped by a smiling, warm staffthis is wonderful I have come here for decades for the delicious Sunday brunch and top floor tiny barbut staying here was even better Highly recommend My room was not oceanfront (less expensive) but still very nice

I liked this hotel a lot I called to see if they would let me check in earlier because I had a conference call and they did The lady at the front desk is very nice

Rooms are clean and quiet Breakfast is not super extensive but great savory options The lady in charge of breakfast was also nice Location is great I will consider it for future trips to the area

Needed a few days away from home due to very bad neighbor behavior! This hotel was 4 miles away & was pet friendly Reserved room on Thursday for 3 nights (Friday – Monday) Check in was perfect Room was spacious & clean except housekeeping forgot to clean out fridge from prior guest

Front desk responded immediately to our call (thank you!) & had no other issues I will say I didn’t understand the shower since it did not have a shower curtain & glass door only covered half of the shower, since it was permanent in place & did not slide Water from shower ran onto the floor soaking the bath towel that was laid down which could be a slip & fall hazardWhile I know people hate smokers, they do exist Maybe a few more outside “ashtrays” would be beneficial to avoid a lot of butts on the ground Just sayingOverall, good stay Thank you

Ashley Romano

I had a Very good experience at this Marriott Location! The room was clean, and the staff was incredible! Especially the front desk associate Lemuel! He was both very Professional and welcoming! Suite had a kitchen, but microwave did not work The one appliance that I would have used I reported it and was directed to a community microwave down the hall

Appreciated CoVid measures in the room Phones and remotes wrapped, antibacterial wipes provided, etc Room was quiet Pillows were great Staff was friendly Easy access to I-295

Kelly Ruston

Very happy with our stay! Kitchenette was lovely, full sized fridge and all the extras including plates etc Nice large desk, comfy reclining chair next to the bed, and the bathroom was clean and spacious The key card reader was a little finicky to get into the room

There were two really lovely gazebos out back, both of which featured a grill along with seating Security patrolled outside overnight, so we felt very safe and weren’t concerned about our vehicle Location was great, easy on/off the highway and a few places to order delivery from

Leah LaBounty

I’ve stayed here for a couple of extended stays Rooms and common areas are always clean Rooms have kitchenettes and full size fridges which is awesome; everything worked well

Free laundry, little gym area, often a selection of food/snacks/beverages/travel size toiletries Staff are all friendly and helpful, and do a good job of keeping everything clean A lot of long term stay guests Couple different outdoor areas with grills, there is a little pond in the back The area is kinda walkable but not a ton of stuff in the immediate area No pool or anything but the beach is close Great location, easy to get all around Jax and surrounding areas, right off 95 and 202 Usually a pretty quiet area as well I don’t really have any complaints!

After our last bad hotel experience we drove here immediately Jeff was awesome! Let us check in early and we were so thankful as I’m 5 months pregnant and we were so exhausted from driving 15 hours Service was GREAT

Cleanest rooms I’ve ever seen for a hotel Shower water was hot Beds were so comfy Breakfast was awesome We will definitely be staying here every Single time we come to Florida for sure!!

Shemiah Miller

The absolute best hotel!! I work for IHG and go frequently to different Holiday Inn hotels to see what they’re like Over the last year, I’ve stayed in over 10 hotels, and this one was by far my favorite After a lengthy drive from North Carolina, the front desk manager/fellow IHG Champion enabled me to check in early

Breakfast vouchers were supplied to us, and the room was fantastic! Housekeeping did an outstanding job of keeping the room clean on a daily basis! This property made me feel right at home, and I will definitely return Maybe even as a member of the staff!! 😉

Marius Pollux

This holiday inn is an excellent hotel I discovered on a business trip Bartenders like Chastity are an asset, and make me want to go out of my way to return to this location I have F&B background, and someone with such a genuine personality and active listening skills is a rarity

The lovely lady who made my burger did a phenomenal job; it was on par with some that I have spent double the money on eating These operators know what they are doing The rooms are cozy What more can you ask?

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at If I found put 0 stars I would The desk lady was very rude and acted like she didn’t know what she was doing

We booked for a room with 2 queen beds (made reservations) Just for us to get there and them say that room is no longer available The desk lady told me if you reserve on line you’re not guaranteed to get that room??? I’ve never heard of that, however this story gets continuously worst She put us in a room with one bed and a couch There were 4 of us which is very in convenient But she told us the room was paid for online right I get there and it’s a hidden $50 fee She assured me my card wouldn’t be the card charged for the reservations Come to find out 3 days later my card was charged over $200 and so was my friends Plus the $50 fee When we go into our room there’s no toilet handle to flush the toilet!!!! My friend had to stick her hand in the toilet to flush it The lady refused to change our room!!! I paid over $250 for a room that I didn’t want and for a toilet that don’t flush She told me there’s nothing she could do about it The pool was filthy!!! I don’t know what these people have going on over here but it’s very scam like so if I’m not given my refund I will take legal action Not only for the money but this hotel is no where near regulations!!!

L. msprettygeorgia

If wasn’t for Frankie and maintenance workerI would have given this place a 0!!Beds were not made up The cover/ bedspread was pulled back on the bed dirty

Exceeded my expectations by far! I stayed there for 3 nights The staff was so friendly and helpful throughout my stay The lobby is very spacious and well-appointed, perfect for visiting with others as well as for noshing on the free breakfast

My room was IMMACULATE and smelled so fresh – not like cleaning products, which can give me headaches, just fresh because it is SO CLEAN Nicely furnished, with great quality linens and pillows and an extraordinarily comfy bed There is a beautiful, generously-sized outdoor lounge area with a waterfall and fireplace, as well as a great pool which has comfy, clean cushions on the lounge chairs Overall, the hotel comes across as higher end than one would expect for the price Also, it is in close proximity (walking distance) to a variety of good restaurants, grocery store, convenience store, massage place, and nail salon About a 25 minute drive to the beach Overall, I enjoyed my stay there immensely I’m so much looking forward to my next trip to Jax and staying there again!

The property was clean The front desk clerk was outstanding when we arrived She had a line of about four groups checking in at once

She did a great job of moving everyone through efficiently, while still making each guest feel welcome Breakfast was as expected for a holiday inn express Good spot for a reasonable room for an overnight stop

Wendy Vause

Front desk was very friendly Got off of the elevator to go to our room and the hallway stinks Walked into our room and did our typical inspection before getting settled in

There was a long hair on the vanity Toilet seat and toilet tank had hair on them as well The carpet in the room was very old, dirty and disgusting Bathroom floor was dirty Breakfast was horrible For hot food you had a choice of cheese omelette, sausage and make your own pancakes We were disappointed because we stayed at this same hotel in Tennessee and they had potatoes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and much more Issues with the elevator 4 floors with only 1 elevator Had to press the button multiple times to get it to stop on our floor We also got stuck in the elevator for a brief moment It stopped in the middle of our trip up to the room A big jolt caused juice to spill and the elevator stopped It then started back up and we got to our floor safely It was a very scary moment Very old hotel

Sonia Wilson-Crandall

This hotel DOES NOT have big trucking parking!! Called last night asked the hotel if they had semi truck parking And the lady at the desk Miss Lydia said that they did And I specifically told the Miss Lydia that my husband and I were in an 18 wheeler

And she said YES, that they did So when we got there she had us park in the back of the hotel But the next morning when we were getting ready to leave the property That’s when the chaos began It was such a tight squeeze all around trying to get out of the property Trying to get to the back of the property was not too bad But when trying to get out of the parking lot the next morning was awful! Then after my husband had jacked up some of the landscaping I had got out of the truck to take pictures Then That’s when the hotel manager had gotten rude with me Then the other lady who I believe was the assistant manager Had stated to me so rudely, that we should have known better! And when I told her that I was not the driver She then stated to me “Well you’re in the truck aren’t you?” So to keep from losing my cool I just walked away What a way to start your day We will never ever stay at another Holiday Inn Express again And the only reason why choose Holiday Inn’s is because these hotels are really clean So Nope Never Again! Miss Lydia should have never told us that you guys had semi truck parking Or else we would have never came to your hotel SmhAnd as for management being rude to me when I was not being rude to her Because I could have cussed out both of these ladies 6 ways from Sunday But I did not I just politely walked away So unless you are driving bobtail Do Not Trust It! When they tell you that they have 18 wheeler parking

We had a great view The room was on the small side with 2 queen beds The fridge still had the prior tenants ice cream in the freezer

Housekeeping apologized and took it away immediately No big dealThe hotel seems to be an older one but it was clean and the staff was very friendly and eager to please The pool was nice, too

Beds were comfy and good location It was being remodeled but the room didn’t look like it was cleaned well Already water damage in bathroom on the door frame

Both rooms had a weird smell to them and carpet felt weird Idk if they still had more to do In the room in between guests or not It was noisy but we were able to sleep Breakfast was good but dining area was small

The attendant was friendly and on point The bar/restaurant area was nice but we didn’t eat or drink on this stay nor did we use the pool area but it looked nice as well as did the grounds The issues were the smell in the hallways, and the room was very dated

Our shower had been badly cracked (24″ or more) and a very sloppy silicone patch was applied The shower pan was also very weak and felt as if it were ready to fall through I can definitely see why the halls have a funky smell The mattress springs could be felt when getting in and out of bed and my wife’s back bothered her all day after sleeping on it I would pass this location and go to the one at Jax beach We loved our stay there a few months ago

josh

Would have given more stars but I want to be very clear about this

THE BEDS ARE HARD AS A ROCK Came into town for a couple days for a medical issues after sleeping on this bed we have decided to cancel our stay and head home In more pain then before we came If you want to sleep on a brick then this is the perfect placeEverything else was clean and fine

Matthew Buchanan

Pros:- Lobby and common areas maintained- Staff friendly- Breakfast was good valueCons:- Rooms and interior corridors were extremely dated and the room smelled strongly of a harsh cleaning chemical For $170 a night I expect more out of a Marriott property

We had a wonderful 4-day stay at Comfort Suites We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room! Our room had two queen size beds and a large sitting area with a comfortable sofa I do have one recommendation: towel racks in the bathroom

Aside from a hook on the back door- there was no place to hang towels except over the shower curtain rod The lobby area was nothing fancy- but it was very comfortable and accommodating for our large group They provided a sufficient complimentary breakfast The staff was friendly and helpful

Lynnette Lopez

NOT RECOMMENDED We did check inn and when we got to the room it stank of humidity We asked to change to another room

It had the smell but it was less Carpet was dirty Door locks and gosnes were loose We went and bought an odor neutralizer and disinfectant wipes In a week there was only one cleaning visit and because we asked for it since the bedding when we arrived had little animals that itched There were cockroaches We covered the sofa bed with sheets because it was dirty When we asked for towels and other items at the reception they did not attend us well Our room was next to the washing machines but using them was a pain The hotel has two washers and two dryers for everyone The reception did not have to change coins There was no window detergent although there was a machine When we called the reception they told us to go to another place to wash which was five minutes away by car At the end of the stay, the housekeeping told us that a snack vending machine had change for quarter Breakfast for a week was the same In the part near the pool there were people smoking and with a dubious reputation The maintenance of the pool and surroundings was almost none Five years ago we stayed at this Hotel and we stayed again thinking that it was the same or better but WE WILL NOT GO BACK

Uncle D Smooth

I stayed here for a week Love the location and customer service was good but house keeping did show anything I stayed more then 4 days and didn’t even get my room clean once

I took out my own trash and got my own set of new towels They had a sign at the check in desk stating if staying more then 4 nights the room would be clean that was a lie I complain twice to the front desk I didn’t get nothing in return If you stay here make sure they get house keeping to clean your room and give you fresh towels Other then that I love my stay

Clean rooms and comfortable beds The pricing wasn’t that bad either I would stay again

No weird smells in rooms or hallway The atmosphere of the hotel smells clean and you can thank the staff for it It smells very refreshing when you first walk in Hot breakfast in am with plenty to choose from Just for the cleanliness alone, I would stay again if I’m in the area

My family and I checking on a Sunday afternoon The staff was friendly of course I know they were really busy because they Cruise was on a layover that night The staff was really really good for the exception of one lady at The breakfast bar

I realizing we wasn’t there for the cruise that we were there to do a job she kind of was nicer the next couple of days we were there But other than that it was really good really clean really well taken care of and maintained Would I stay there again probably yesa

We stayed here for one night before our cruise Let me start by saying that the room smelled horrible when we first walked in, the carpet was dirty, and the room had a cigarette butt on the floor When we moved the covers back to check the sheets we saw a roach wrapped up in the blankets on one of the beds

(Seriously disgusting) The roach was half dead Then another roach met me at the bathroom door Needless to say I will NEVER return to this hotel The only decent part about the hotel is that the person at the desk was pleasant They changed our room after we found the roach in the bed The second room was much nicer and cleaner and did not have a smell We were given room 101 first Then when they changed our room, they gave us room 207Update: So I called the number from the person that responded to my review and a young lady answered the phone I informed her that I was calling in reference to a response from my review of this hotel I gave her the name of the person who made the reservation which was my husband (last name Batten) and the last names of our traveling companions With everyone included in our traveling group, there were five or six rooms booked at this hotel One of our friends had to go and ask for clean bedding because the sheets on their bed was dirty when they checked their beds So GM Jay Mehta why haven’t you contacted my husband to express your apologies for the disgusting situation we had to deal with?

Everything was perfect! Angel deserves a raise! He is a great employee and was there to help us during our stay and answer all of our questions He made our stay stress free and made us feel comfortable I would definitely stay here again

The rooms were clean and breakfast was great I loved the coffee and tea available at all times in the lobby I do wish there was a hot tub but the pool was nice

Aimee Napier

We absolutely loved it Just a few blocks from Best Bet and close enough to everything at a great price The pool stayed open until 10 which the kids loved

Gave us time to spend shopping and at the beaches without missing out on the pool in the evenings The rooms were large, comfortable and clean Breakfast had a wide variety of choices from blueberry waffles to southwestern omelets Our only complaint was the air conditioning The room didn’t seem to cool off despite running the ac day and night I was undressed and didn’t want to call for help or change rooms We will definitely stay here when in JacksonvilleI’ll add photos next time

Christine Largent

Room was “ready” when we got there around 2 for check in but floor was dirty and room was not stocked, no tissues, only a half a roll of toilet paper with no backup I didn’t have time to go to front desk to complain because we checked in with only enough time to eat and change before going to a concert The elevators have a malfunction that it is always trying to make an emergency call so every time you get in the elevator you hear the phone trying to connect

Everything else about the hotel was nice Friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable beds

The other great reviews were accurate! The staff were professional, yet warm and welcoming Everyplace I went, common areas, elevator, and room were spotlessly clean It was very quiet so we could get some much needed road trip sleep

The breakfast was fine, the usual express breakfast, with everything clean and well stocked Nearby there are many restaurants (mostly corporate food) and stores if you need anything Easy to find from the highway, easy to get back on 95 I’ll be keeping this place in mind for future trips

The staff upon check in and in passing were very pleasant The gentleman checking us in was awesome and hilarious Was great talking to him

Cheered us up after a long day of travel The day and evening staff always gave a passing “hello” and would ask if everyone was going well or if we needed anythingThe ONLY reason I almost took 1 star off was due to the state of the tub It was pretty beat up I assume they are renovating, because the room, beds, TV and counters were ultra updated/in perfect condition The beds were probably the most comfortable I’ve EVER stayed in I usually don’t sleep well when traveling, but these beds changed that So I recommend overlooking the tub if you get that room (it was still perfectly functional) and just enjoy the remainder of your time By the time I was out of the tub, I forgot all about itBecause the hospitality, beds and rest of the room was perfect I don’t feel the need to knock stars off

Mimi Jones

This hotel was definitely amazing! And I love how the rooms match the pictures that they advertise online to a perfection! They were super clean no dust anywhere except for the AC vents, it was very dusty there so maybe they could clean the vents out or change the filters a bit more consistently (we ended catching colds because of this)Other than that our stay here was amazing and our housekeeper Kenneth was awesome and very attentive to us! He deserves a raise!

Courtney Cox

Overall, the hotel is fine You can tell it was once a really fabulous place but it is in need of a lot of TLC The rooms are pretty spacious, but housekeeping was not great

The rooms have hard floors with lighting around the perimeter of the bed, and as soon as the light turned on, there was trash and debris all over the floor, not to mention the 2 insects I had to kill in the roomthere is currently no on site restaurant or bar which was disappointing as it was one of the main reasons I booked (the direct website does mention that these amenities are closed, but 3rd party sites do not) The pool was nice and warm and very clean When I mentioned the cleanliness issues to the desk manager, I was offered some Best Western Points which is ok, but given what I paid for the room, I certainly expected just a higher overall standard All in all, if the price was right, I would consider staying again, but only if I inspected the room before agreeing to stay

This place is nothing like the pics I paid $180 for one night, for a king bed and jetted tub The jetted tub didn’t work

One of the AC units didn’t work There was no light in the lamp on the nightstand The hot tub is unavailable The condition of the hotel is poor at best I asked for another room with jetted tub Nothing available Yet no refund or discount! The only reason I chose this hotel was because of the jetted tub in the room and the hot tub by the pool Neither worked! This room is worth maybe $50 a night at best I’m livid to say the least If nothing is done by management or corporate, I plan to post pictures and my negative review everywhere possible This is unacceptable!!!!!!

My parents are both disabled My mom has had a double lung transplant and my dad a stroke My mom is a patient at Mayo Clinic

They stayed at this place recently and the ac leaked, soaking the carpet They had no clean wash rags or towels even when requested My parents do not like to make a fuss so I called and the guy at the front desk did not care The guy at the front desk told me they do not replace towels daily My parents ask and they still did not get clean towels! Disrespectful staff and not clean
