Great location, lots if businesses around for shopping or eating Beds were comfortable, like having shampoo dispenser in shower, bathroom fan is way to loud, bathroom was large, toilet to low, full breakfast but no pancake or waffle machine or flavored creamer, staff is friendly, liked size of fridge, why is there a lamp behind the TV, no USB charging ports, great water pressure in the shower, no hot tub, pool looked like it needs cleaning & definitely could use a remodel

D Bryan

The staff was very nice, the hotel was very clean, and the location was great in relation to easy shopping and attractionsI’m knocking off one star because this place is in need of an update I stay at a lot of HIE locations and this place reminds me on an HIE 10 years ago

It wasn’t super run down or anything, it was just the TV setup, beds, hvac and everything there seemed older than most of the hotels I’ve stayed in lately and they weren’t as user friendlyThe hvac is one where you just turn a hot/cold dial instead on a thermostat with temperature select The TV used a separate cable box so I had to figure out to turn them all on, select HDMI 1 (because the inputs weren’t labeled) and then you could use it but a lot of the channels weren’t subscribed to and they didn’t filter those out like you can on most systemsI’d stay there again but I hope they get an update soon

The purpose of our 3 day stay was to provide an accommodation close enough for being on call at Atlantic General Hospital We paid for the first night with points earned through prior stays at Best Western Hotels and the next 2 nights by credit card After working overtime on Friday 11, we arrived at the hotel around 9 o’clock

The first surprise was that the clerk at the counter stated even though the reservation were made through the corporate account, we had to check out after the first night and check back in the next day, meaning that we couldn’t unpack just one time The fact that the clerk couldn’t correct this issue is a negative testimony to their staff We then proceeded to the room, to be overwhelmed by a negative odor and noting the absence of handle on the shower, clearly there is no quality control for their room cleaning We were woken around midnight by the sounds of a bus unloading a large contingency of people, who were quite loud After they settled down, we fell back to sleep only to be woken at 2am by loud banging on doors This noise was know by your staff because when we checkout the next morning they stated the baseball team was leaving Between the condition of the room, the need to pack and check out and then recheck-in after work, we decided to leave your hotel and find another place to stayTo add insult to injury, they charged a $30 administrative for the night funded with points, something that has never occurred at other stays at Best Western hotels when the room was funded by points They also chose to bill us for the night of February 12 because we didn’t cancel within 48 hours If we knew what the hotel was going to be like, we would have cancelled the reservation long beforeAdditionally, the general managers response to my complaint didn’t even express sorrow for our unfortunately experience I was also surprise that Best Western corporate expressed no concern when notified

GO AWAY

Staff at the front desk was SO sweet and so fast to help in any way she could The room is clean, not a single pest in sight and it smelled fine! The pool is on the small side but overall it feels REALLY safe, clean, and secure It’s gated so it really helps with peace of mind

It also has a small sitting area in the back with a few grilling spots and plenty of places to get food in the surrounding area The only reason I would rate four instead of five stars is the noise people make here is kind of ridiculously loud and the door to the room has no weather stripping so we heard EVERY single noise It was more so noisy early in the morning, less throughout the night

Bria Brown

The hotel is more of a motel style My name was butchered on the reservation but the staff who helped at check up worked that out The room was ok

My daughter and I went down for family so we didn’t stay much in the room The lady that was there at checkout was horrible She had a nasty attitude A few guests wanted coffee or juice The machines weren’t working She didn’t even attempt to resolve the issue She actually mumbled something smart when staff asked for assistance There was a young man that did try to help but quickly got frustrated, went to his work area on the other side(I’m assuming)and never came back It appeared the system was also down so no one could get a printout receipt It was just not a good overall experience

Location was great Idyllic small college campus setting DeskCleaning staff was nice and friendly

Room was dirty and needing repairs Upon arrival commode was dirty, towels left hanging is shower from previous guest, caulking around bathroom sink pealed off, toilet seat was loose… basically the hotel really needs an update Badly A/C kept room comfortable temperature Outside of hotel and lobby nice and looked well maintained For $180 a night the interior of the rooms was a huge disappointment Beds were horrible and the sheets were the roughest I have slept on Actually having difficulty describing the discomfort of the sheets Would probably compare to 120 grit sand paper I definitely left some skin in that bed Hotel was like a palace compared to the dorm I toured

Margaret Van Clief

Friendly staff! Great health/safety protocol at check in Nice, firm bed, hot shower, and windows that actually open! Toiletries were nice quality, AC was consistent, and the mini-fridge was really cold I’m not smart enough to fully operate a Smart TV, so a little instruction sheet would have been cool

Overall, a great stay! And it’s cool to support an on-campus hotel!

Patricia Burns

It was a clean hotel with friendly staff Very hard to find because it’s inside of the university Nothing outside to tell you it’s a hotel

The walls seem very thin, crying baby in the room next door with a yorkie that barked alot The ground are beautiful and very quiet Tiny town with not much of anything to do, we asked the front desk where we could go eat or go do something and he said there was nothing near the hotel we would have to travel We ended up skipping dinner and staying in for the night

Place was extremely run down and looked deserted We immediately declined to stay got our money refund and left Do not let the website fool you this place is awful and something is definitely going on there

Susan Cosden

I booked online and never entered the placeThere were young men loitering everywhere and there was a sign in the door that said call fir serviceIt was dark and uninviting and really a little scary

I never got out of my car I drove away and lost my prepaid reservationReally bad experience just on the exterior

Adenike Adebona

1st room I had was nasty hair in the shower

and the hot water wasn’t hotglad I knew people in the area just took a shower at my friend’s house Second room was was better lights were super dim better customer servicewas half n half the gentleman who was there the first night I got there ugh didn’t appreciate his attitudethere was a young lady who cleaned and was at the front desk on that second day Saturday she was pure delight and pleasant! She is the only reason I gave three stars if it was left to the guy I would have given one star!

Did not stay at the inn We did eat at the restaurant 6 people

Every water glass we had was dirty Complimentary bread seemed fresh, olives oil that came with it heavily seasoned and not an appealing flavor Ordered calamari, crab dip, and crab soup for appetizers Calamari was under cooked Crab soup had a good flavor but was not hot enough Dip was good Entrees were pasta with chicken, shrimp and grits, and a tavern burger Shrimp and grits had a decent flavor, shrimp were well cooked and seasoned, grits were various temperature Parts were hot and delicious, others were cool and lumpy Burger was over cooked and lacking in flavor I think the overcooking led to it being dry Fries were adequate Chicken pasta was good temperature but lacked flavor Everyone picked out the chicken but ate minimal amount of pasta Lacked flavor Wine selection was good Debbie, our server, was a delight We would not try again, but maybe we caught them on a bad night For the money, should have been way better Definitely not up to the expectations set by previous reviews

Dennis Corbin

Very odd little town To be more fair I am adding more to this review The room we rented, #2, was very clean and well kept

Our nights sleep was comfortable and we enjoyed our room Breakfast the next morning was average but a good start to our day The staff was friendly I’ve given the room and staff a 4 star but location is a 2 star for us

Tim Ware

Was not sure what to expect But to my surprise Everything was amazing The atmosphere and setting placed me back to my grandparents old Eastern Shore home I spent my childhood in every Summer

The Tavern was something elseTo not be home and get home cooked food Not to mention our server TomHe needs a raise😉 His service and friendliness will jeep that place going I did not get the Lady bartenders name but she stirs up a mean drinkMade me feel right at homeHands down before I try to stay at the Ocean I will take the 45 min ride there to sleep in peace and comfort as if i was home

The place was in a great location close to our family reunion Gathering event for 2022 The room was sufficient really did not have storage like drawers for your things just hangers also there were many flies in this room of ours yes it came from when the people were cleaning and left the door open there were no towels upon arrival and we just asked at the front desk Need more storage room for belongings as well as in the shower area

bre allen

I got accused of punching a hole in the wall when I was barely there They couldn’t tell me where the hole was, nor was I called about the incident Very unprofessional

Walked into a room where sheets were filthy, bathroom was dirty, and the room had paint everywhere It’s still covid , and they don’t even offer proper services of cleaning the room properly I’ve stayed here a few times and never had any problems, but the last few times I ran into many They placed me on a no rental stay for absolute no reason Definitely not worth the price My room did not even have a refrigerator, and what hotel room you know for almost $200 a night don’t got a refrigerator Take your money somewhere else!! Im sure you don’t want to be accused of something you DID NOT do Old , outdated, and very tacky

Chaoxys

The carpets leading through the halls were filthy and there was a lingering stink The lady at the front desk when I got there seemed like she really didn’t want to be thereThe room itself was filthy

There were random chunks of what looked like food on the floor, plus stickers from articles of clothes stuck to the dresser (like, random underwear size and price stickers with someones hair stuck to them) The beds had what looked like animal hairs in them, as well a some dried on crusty messes that I’m afraid to guess at what they could have beenThe bathroom was a nightmare There was hair clippings all over the place, from the shower to the walls Also, when I lifted the toilet seat, I was greeted with dried urine and an assortment of hairsThe general price per night had me believing that I was going to be getting a halfway decent place to stay, but the end result wasn’t even worth a fraction of what I was charged

The owners, Sue and Carsten, have a true passion for making sure that every camper has a good time They always give back to the community by helping the West Side Fire Department fundraisers and also helping anyone in need The campground is beautiful and really clean

Everyone seems to be smiling but having a good time Highly recommend!

This was not at all what we expected Spots are very close together Owners could at time be rude with guests

Not at all like what is described there is no real activity room just ping pong table old arcade machines that don’t even work The playground is literally a swing set monkey bars and merry go round thing The “beach” is literally a foot wide of sand and there was no way I was getting in that water If you have small kids I do not recommend this place at all

The people are nice That’s all I can say that’s positive Absolutely FILTHY room

Had to sweep the floor Dead bugs, food and god knows what else Swiped a small section of the floor with TP Almost black Never seen a hotel room where you had to turn on a refrigerator If you’re poor and desperate, sleep in your car or a park bench It’s not fit for dogs here

Danielle Perkins

Clean, cold A/C, very quiet, and comfortable Something I liked the most was that the floors are hardwood TV is nice size even though we didn’t watch it much

Smaller, but big enough for a pack n play to fit for the baby This was a perfect room for a one night stay, when everything in OC is booked The manager gave me a price over the phone a day prior and when we got here said that the rate increased due to high demand but he kept it at the rate we talked about on the phone Happy with our stay

I have never complained about a hotel experience in 25+ years I have stayed at many Country Inn & Suites along the East coast and have always been happy I’ve stayed at this particular hotel twice in 1 year for work purposes and it’s terrible

The first stay was last summer and I chalked it up to COVID This time the rooms have been updated but guess what? The carpet has been removed in all the rooms Guess what that means? I heard EVERY footstep and conversation above me for over 5 hours when all I wanted to do was rest or sleep and was woken up 2 hours before my alarm with the same issue I swear the guests were walking laps in the room and rolling on the office chair needlessly I could hear their shower and toilet water like it was in my own room You can hear doors closing in the hallway like it’s your own door closing The noise was unacceptable I complained in person to the front desk attendant at one point The lady was polite to me and followed up with me on the phone after calling the guest but that didn’t fix the problem The only reason I got ANY sleep is because I slept with noise canceling earbuds, which wasn’t very comfortable Very disappointed Big mistake removing carpet, which helps absorbs noise by the way I should have called the front desk back and demanded a new room When I checked out I was not asked how my stay was I will not be staying at this particular very overpriced below average hotel again

Anita Carr

I was driving for a while so me and my family made it to the hotel around 10ish at night We were tired The room appeared to be clean with a new desk and dresser

There was food and someone else belongings left in the drawers The room was not 100% cleaned This was not a hotel that cost pennies This was for one day only I wonder how the other chain of hotels are I’m wondering if their breakfast is really a breakfast or just pick and go I will not take a chance to spend money on any hotel/suite that has not been fully cleaned ever again Especially since they had Covid/health signs upThe lady at the front desk at night Mary was amazing The gentleman in the morning Mike was great They both are knowledgeable and can manage busy times The lady that was making sure breakfast was out was also a housekeeper She was great and was focus on doing her job while serving others She did the 1st floor (I noticed) she was thorough! I wished she did my floor as I stayed on the 2nd dirty floor

Tyler Raup

If your ideal stay involves hearing every step someone in the hallway or floor above you takes this is the place for you! Woke up at midnight hearing the shower from the room above sounding like it was coming through the ceiling onto me, vibrating part of the wall Zero sound proofing at all The staff is very friendly and nice, its not their fault whoever renovated did such as “great” job

I’ve stayed in worse hotels for hundreds of more dollars I gotta say, I was terrified from the reviews and I have high expectations for places offering quality service Well, the water is brown in the sink, shower, and toilet

The room was clean for the most part Clean beds, doors have smudges on them and look a bit used No bugs The non smoking room does smell strongly of cigarettes The room itself is decent size, microwave, mini fridge, storage space and work desk area TV works fine Service is good and check-in was easy, under 4 minutesIt’s all we could get last minute and honestly it works if you’re staying 1 night I wouldn’t stay more than 1 night due to the brown water, not showering in that Was $166 for the night Not my first pick if I had options but not the last either

Bugs, male staff member has a staring problem Had to say good morning to get him to stop Specifically booked the suite so I could make one meal while I stayed

The oven had no rack Coffee maker but no coffee Did I mention the bugs? I mean, good for sleeping i guess Still made my skin crawl Only good for the location between Va and Md

Shira Hanna

I wish I could give it NO stars The man at the front desk is RUDE He used his key to come in our room before check out time

The rags and towels were dirty upon my arrival There were dead bugs in the tub The tub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in YEARS I wouldn’t recommend the hotel if it was the last hotel on earth The guy at the front desk needs to be fired He treats black guests like we aren’t paying customers as well

I have stayed here two separate times now, once last summer, and now this summer It’s a nice, clean room with a decent little pool It being right off of the highway is ideal for commuting to Ocean City to save a few bucks on a hotel room

This hotel is not too far at all if you don’t mind the half hour driveAside from that, the staff have been friendly both times and the surrounding area is nice and quiet at night It’s close to a couple of grocery stores, a gas station, plus a few dining optionsI’ll definitely be staying here again when I go back to OC

I reserved for 7 days 6 nights while attending a softball national competition for my child Our team booked approx 14-20 block rooms in this facility They took my full payment upfront on day 1, they did not provide housekeeping services for almost the entire stay (only first 2 days they cleaned) , there was a leaking air conditioner, non working outlets among the issues

I contacted front desk to seek out management and each time was given a different lie as to why they weren’t there Went to ask for 6 towels since they don’t clean and they laughed in my face Horrible experience avoid if you can

Melissa Haynes

If I could give 0 stars I would! This place is dirty and run down We booked an advertised “new” suite with queen bed and sleeper sofa The mattress on the sleeper sofa was shredded to the point you could see the springs

You sunk into the couch when you sat on it Feet stuck to the carpet when you walked on it without shoes Hair leftover in the bathtub from the last guest Asked for roll out bed for our daughter and it was even old and dirtyThe only saving grace were the kind ladies at the front deskBless them!

The following night we returned to our room after being gone all day at a softball event roughly around 2am with fast-food cookout After finishing out meal and going to bed we woke up in the morning to check out to find ants all over our beds, clothes, and empty food trays on the counter At this point I’m disgusted, i go downstairs to see what the front desk can do I told them id like to speak with the manager, there wasn’t one on duty We live on the western shore of Maryland 3 hours away so we asked the kind lady at the front to hold payment on the account until we spoke with the manager Our total stay was 43456 for two nights and she offered to take 50 dollars off the total bill I said no thank you id like to speak with the manager first please Two days go by and we still had not heard from the manager Upon calling back, APRIL J (apparent manager) was the most rude and unprofessional front desk host i have ever spoken to Not only did she repeatedly say she going to hang up (eventually she did) but she even went as far as to say “we left food out in our rooms ,ants were bound to get in it” So we are supposed to control the ants prior to us even checking in and then we get moved rooms and come across the same issue this time it was the first time we had eaten in the room and it was 2am just to wake up at 7 to check out and find ants all over our stuff again I told the front desk the first time i did not mind paying for one nights stay but this is ridiculous I refuse to pay 434 dollars for an insect covered room both nightsThroughout this entire process i never once raising my voice and the older who worked the front desk 05/27, who helped us initially was very helpfulAPRIL J needs to be fired and i hope my complaint to corporate finds its way back to her I will be continuing to resolve this issue throughout the next week as corporate is now involved I will be posting pictures and videos of the incident

Did not have a great experience here I came here because they were the only place that had availability in short notice There is mould (as seen in the pictures)

There are holes in the floor tires The only acceptable part of the experience is the breakfast, which is mediocre I have stayed at the Best Western Hampton, Quality Inn, and DaysInn in the Salisbury area, and they were all significantly better than thisWe had to ask them in the afternoon to clean our room After cleaning we found ants on the table And I forgot to mention the “clean towels” (see images) I am hoping that isn’t blood on the “fresh towels”We tried to call our credit card company to attempt to cancel the last night of our reservation so we could leave early because of the conditions of this place Our credit card company called the hotel directly to cancel the last night, however the hotel refused to refund the points/moneyI am not picky when it comes to staying in hotels, but I can tell you that this place against my recommendation Will never stay here again

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a hotel I asked for a new room because the hot water didnt work They did something to the valve to make it work, but the water would barely come out

Speaking with front desk, they were not willing to switch the room Then they were willing to switch the room Then they told me if I was not happy with room, I should just check outI have never experienced such a rude customer service team Asked to speak to manager and he laughed when I told him what his customer service representative saidWould never recommend this hotel to anyone

First off this is a very friendly group of both workers and campers a very clean and neat spot I just got back from there july 1-4 Fire works were awesome We were tent campers witch at the start you see your not very important

Sites are very poorly marked off or kept up with i had to ask for my spot to be raked off before setting up my tent because of dried gumballs from tree covered the site A porta potty set in the 13 tent camp site void of any toilet paper all 3 days we were there If your doing anything beside tent camping i would definitely recommend For motorhome / tag along this is a awesome spot There were tent spots near the water that were never offered to us over the phone not sure why Please don’t take this a a bad review I would definitely go back I just wanted to write a honest review i also know I don’t pay near what those others pay for a site I came prepared for the worst and this was far from bad I have bad legs and staff offered to pick me up and take me to beach They done there best to please Again i would recommend it I was told there is talk of some updates on the back camping sites exciting to hear Hope that gumtree comes down lol

Love this campground! Haven’t been here in 15 years, until this past weekend, June 3rd-5th Had an amazing time! Exactly the same as I remember I called Friday at 2pm and the lady I spoke with was absolutely helpful

We camped in a tent, because that’s the only REAL way to camp Anyhow, we weren’t going to arrive until late, so we were given the gate code beforehand Not a single other tent camper was there, so we had the whole lot to ourselves The primitive sites are 40 dollars a night so thats what we decided on Family friendly, pet friendly camp ground There is a nice beach with water that you can actually swim in Kayak rentals, paddleboard rentals, you name it There is a bath-house located on the property that is available 24hrs The camp store has pretty much whatever you need, make sure you have it, cuz the local Walmart is 40 minutes away! I would recommend this campground to anyone looking for a nice relaxing weekend; tent or camper! Thank you Roaring Point, for providing us with a memorable weekend and bringing back memories that I will cherish forever!
