FABULOUS GEM in Metairie! My honey and I go to our share of hotels all over and when staying in Metairie this is by far the best feeling, clean, safe, comfortable, specious and quiet hotels we have found We truly enjoyed our 4 night stay The staff is absolutely the biggest bonus

They are so incredibly helpful and reliable Our bathtub had a Jacuzzi which we incredibly enjoyed The bed is comfortable and there are many movies and TV stations to choose from in both the bedroom and the living room The room comes with a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher, full functioning stove and a full size refrigerator The air conditioner works extremely well and the granite floors in the bathroom and kitchen felt fabulous on my feet Room service even came in while we were gone and changed the trash cans and exchanged our dirty towels for clean ones It is greatly priced for what you get We are extremely satisfied and would personally like to thank the ladies at the front desk for making our stay at the plaza suite feel like home We will definitely be back! We loved it 💋

We stayed during the week of April 11 The location can’t be beat; we walked to everything we wanted to visit We bought some snacks from a convenience store a block or two away and made use of our room’s refrigerator

Our room was very clean and well appointed We did need to ask for two more sets of towels, but that was not an issue; there is a sign at check-in that encourages guests to ask for anything they might need The employee who checked us in was very courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable We knew ahead of time we would be paying for either valet parking or using a public lot, so that added charge was not a surprise We were willing to pay a few bucks extra to know that our rental was securely parked I will absolutely stay here again the next time our family is in New Orleans I have zero complaintsthis is a very charming, clean, and convenient hotel

Izzy Bellsla

We stayed here on a whim without really reading the other reviews Thank goodness we didn’t read them because we did not have the same experience as many of the recent reviews! The room smells clean and nice The bed is soft and comfortable

The hotel front desk was courteous and friendly The valet parking was easy and professional The bathroom was clean and the toiletries smelled great and worked nicely The shower head had strong pressure The ac was nice and cool Overall an extremely beautiful and historical hotel! Historical hallways with classic low ceiling in the halls opening up to very tall ceiling comfortable roomsThe only small downside was the door is thin so you can hear people passing by in the hallway and can hear muffled versions of what’s going on in others rooms But that’s a minimal issue

jess yawn

We stayed 2/12-2/16/22The hotel is grand and old and feels like it has lots of history despite the modern amenities and updates Tall ceilings in rooms with tile floors that look like hardwood were gorgeous The entire hotel was elegant, inviting, and clean

If you’re not staying on the fourth floor, pop up there for peep at the stone accents and exposed wooden beams They are charming! The staff was helpful and accommodating The only complaint we had was our room keys would deactivate daily They said it was due to new computer systems Apologies were made, new keys issued, it wasn’t a big deal once we expected itAll in all Great hotel, great stay, excellent location!

The people at the front desk were very friendly and professional The room was seriously spotless Im a crazy person that walks in and and check everything before I stay there and it was spotless

The bed was very large and comfy Sheets and blankets were very nice and clean no stains The bathroom was really pretty the sink and the light in that bathroom was beautiful The neighbor hood was a normal neighborhood so I don’t understand why people made reviews questioning the neighborhood It was nicely located near several stores and restaurants if you needed anything Vending machine took cards which was great bc I had zero cash I would definitely stay there again

Claire Kaufman

I have never written a poor review in my life, but I would like to warn future guests I stayed at Jefferson Inn in April for 2 nights The first night I had to change rooms twice because the first room had bugs in the bed and the second reeked of damp tobacco even in a non smoking room

The third room was better but had a can of open spam in the mini fridgeOn top of all this, when I arrived, the woman checking in advised that I pay the deposit in cash so I could have it returned immediately upon check out When I went to check out, they told me the deposit had been charged to my card and they had no record of the cash and would therefore not return it They never reached out to me to reconcile, luckily just $40, but I would definitely not recommend this motel

Juliet

The staff here are very nice, and the hotel room was stylish and clean It was a very affordable price The only reason I cant give 5 stars was due to a water pressure issue that happened for several hotel guests

For a few minutes, I lost all running water to the bathroom sink, and at best it was very weak water pressure when it returned It is unclear to me whether that is any fault of the hotel, or if it could be a problem for all buildings in the area (due to recent hurricanes, city structures/pipelines could be damaged)

Room 718 I’m convinced has mold or some other allergen My sister and I stayed 5 nights On the second night it was so bad we could not breathe

The front desk moved us to room 709 which had an air purifier It was better but still bad Bellmen, valet, front desk staff were very nice The location was great and the hotel looks very nice 50$ nightly for incidentals 10$ nightly for a preservation fee (please read the fine print) If they are charging to preserve the building they could do a better job Overall, I would not stay here again The air quality in those rooms are horrible Been to many hotels in my travels and this is something I’ve never experienced

Frank Migliarese Jr.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Stayed for just one night but in that short time was treated the best I have ever been at a hotel Everyone was extremely courteous and helpful Made it seems as it was a pleasure to do their job to make make my experience as comfortable and positive as possible

The men and women of the valet especially were great and welcoming Hotel is beautifully decorated and elegant Room and bathroom were clean and nicely decorated as well Would stay here again given experience and location

So, I first went to Le Pavilion over 10 years ago – it was beautiful (and still is in some ways) in an old world sort of way The lobby is glorious, and the rooms felt old and lived in and early America It’s a haunted hotel, although I’m sad I haven’t seen a ghost

It may be because about 5 or so years ago they renovated all the rooms, modernizing and sanitizing them, and they lost that old world charm It’s sort of sad that it feels like a Holiday Inn now The lobby is still spectacular, but the rooms are bland Sadly the pool was closed while we were there, and the front desk wasn’t very friendly We inquired when we checked in about a military discount because it wasn’t available to select when we booked, but then the person at the front desk said that we needed to do that when we booked – well, then I guess you don’t give a military discount since it’s not possible to get it Let’s just leave it at that, shall we? Nonetheless, I had some wonderful experiences in the past at Le Pavilion, including the fruit basket in my room the 2nd time I went back that had a card that read “Welcome Back, Mr Meek” I still remember that little gesture, and it still makes me smile But that was then, and I don’t think we’ll be staying at Le Pavilion anymore It’s not the same, although I will miss the PB&J happy hour, which is a nice holdover from before all the renovations

I don’t even know where to begin with my dissatisfaction I booked the room based off the photo of the deluxe room online It was spacious with lots of light and even had a couch

What I got was a disappointing dark shoebox with no windows There was no outlet or charging port by the bed I had to get up and cross the room to access my phone while charging Though the AC unit worked fine, it was very loud There was a crack in the sink that made it feel neglected and shabby The bathroom was a closet with no deluxe feel The shower was bizarre and had a board missing in the floor, and the pressure was literally a drip Had to shower elsewhere There was no iron for a traveler’s wrinkled clothes The locks on the doors use old school keys, but in a more outdated corner cutting way and not a cool retro way The usage of the word deluxe is very much a misnomer The expectation set by the name of the room, the pics online, and the cost were grossly let down There was nothing deluxe about it at all Total bait and switch I’ve perhaps never felt more ripped off in my life I mentioned my dissatisfaction with the room and the concierge made no attempt to resolve the issue and just seemed offended Stay elsewhere!

I stayed at the Selina in NO for 5 days recently, and really enjoyed it I was slightly concerned reading other reviews on the hotel prior to arriving, specifically regarding the air conditioning, cleanliness of the rooms, and the hotel staff I stayed in a standard room, and the amenities listed were exactly what was provided

During my stay my air conditioning worked very well, the room was clean upon arrival, and the hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful while I was there Ultimately, my experience of the hotel was exactly the description provided on the website and looked the same as the pictures When going to this hotel you are certainly getting a different environment compared to large chain hotels, but I found this very pleasant, and the environment in the hotel was much friendlier and homey than at other hotels I have stayed at

A Mc

There is a frosted window in the shower that leads into the courtyard The entire complex could see our naked silhouettes, maybe you’re into that? There was a huge window with a light that shined brightly through the shade all night The sink is on the desk and the toilet is in a closet not comfortable for larger bodies

Towels and sheets were clean, mattress and pillows were high quality, ac worked very well Overall ambience is retro chic with exposed brick and plants everywhere Pet friendly Late night check service was excellentWould stay again Amenities for price point are satisfactory but not outstanding

So rare to find such a great hostel in the US! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is super personable and helpful, the bar always has good vibes, and the free breakfast is much appreciated The Quisby feels like a family guesthouse more than a hostel, and the only downside is the slightly long walk to the French Quarter (the streetcar stops directly outside, however)

Kelsey Reid

My first stay at a hostel just to hold me over until I could get to a relative’s house Last min trip, low on extra funds I fell asleep on the top bed right away in a 4 bed co-ed suite

I felt safe the entire time but would definitely be sure I book a female suite beforehand and bring a lock for the luggage locker I was with all males, eeek! Only came to the room to sleep, but still risky The young lady running the bar was very friendly and efficient with the numerous people in the lobby area Unlimited coffee and free bagel was super helpful and kept me productive all day in the lobby area The location & price was perfect Expect to park on the street as the site says I recommended you go the site to read the FAQs before hopping on a 3rd party site because some reviews people say they didn’t know things that were made plain on the site You really can’t beat the price and I didn’t expect anything else like the free drink and coffee I would def stay again

Jesús J. López Fernández

I’ve been to a number of hostels in my life and let’s just say that The Quisby has some homework to do While understanding that this is budget accommodation, there’s plenty of things that don’t cost money at all and would definitely improve the whole experience- the rooms are minimal but clean and practical; my one comment would be concerning the annoying sound that comes when flushing the toilet and that goes on for minutes or hours

It is so loud that it makes it difficult to sleep at times- it is awesome that the hostel does house cleaning, but I found it strange that even if I awkwardly bumped into the staff inside my room twice, the soap dispenser was empty since day one and throughout my 5 nights in the hotel, plus I didn’t find the room particularly cleaner- much of the staff is young and inexperienced, and it shows You will often find members of the staff engaging into arguments with each other or being somewhat discourteous with guests In particular, there were a couple situations with a male receptionist who took the night shift and we would have to basically wake him up and remind him that breakfast was supposed to be served at 8AM (to which we got an “oh shit” for an answer) It was also particularly upsetting from this particular person when we had to take a call late at night and went down to the hall only to find him hanging out with other people and being so noisy (loud music and all) that it was literally impossible to take the callI think it’s fair to stress as well the gentleness of whom I believe was the janitor, looking after the guests and ensuring everything’s alright Breakfast is really good too, with fine bagels, fruit and coffee

Extremely Rude Customer Service: Will Never Check-IN! I’m in town for a funeral and was staying at the Hilton However, I need to stay a few more days but they don’t have any availability so

I figured I would try a different brand What a mistake I’m leaving on the holiday anyway but called to tell the hotel to modify my reservation for 1 day rather than the 5 nights Ghetto front desk said I had to stay 3 nights What I read at booking was a minimum 3 night stay for that RATE! 👎🏾 Nevertheless, I will not be checking in and you will not get a dime! #Facts People do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere Don’t you know that customer service is EVERYTHING 😡

Wife and I stopped by here on our way back from Baton Rouge over the summer The room was immaculate Everything was perfectly clean and the view was amazing

I loved that it was walking distance from Whole Foods so I could easily just walk down to the store for a quick snack or something to drink Other patrons pretty much minded their own business Nothing shady or anything else Would gladly stay here again!

Harry VH

It’s a good looking clean hotel with modern roomsUnfortunately, the best thing about a hotel is its shower (every1 loves a hot shower at the end of a 14 hour work day)The showers here only get lukewarm however and the water pressure is pitiful (it’s not just my room

My co worker who’s in a different room had the same complaint)I’d recommend it if you’re looking to stay only 1 night, but if you need a hotel for multiple days, you should go somewhere else (unless you’re weird & enjoy lukewarm showers, lol)

Hotel beautifully decorated Staff niceNegative -Room thermostat a/c locked at 72, room was stuffy

Room windows open and neighbors took the opportunity to smoke a couple blunts AC sucked it straight into our room Fold out couch bed linens weren’t changed, had dirty sock in it Tissues were empty in bathroom Located within a couple hundred feet of highway overpasses Positives-very nicely decorated hotel located less than 5 miles from the Carnival Cruise Port

I’m a huge Marriott fan I go out of my way to book these hotels and I’ve stayed at this one before But this experience was the most disappointing Courtyard stay

These are good hotels but not this oneThe staff was top notch though so this isn’t about themIt’s everything else The room is poorly layed out Light switches for the bathroom are behind doors & difficult to findAnd my room wasn’t cleaned the entire 6 days I was there I’ve never been to a hotel that didn’t service a room for 6 days straight Even in the post pandemic, save the water times That’s excessive I’m going to avoid this place next time I’m in NOLA

Cori Frede

I was in town for a convention this week and stayed at this Courtyard All the people were really nice and the room was cleanI saw a few reviews mentioning the AC not going low but I didn’t have any problems

I was able to turn it down and actually ended up turning it back up a few degrees because it got really cold in the roomMy room looked over the pool and it looked beautiful from the window but I didn’t have time to walk out there so I can’t say about the actual weather qualityThe one morning I had a delicious breakfast but the second day the registers were having technical issues so they couldn’t serve any food, not even if your paid cash which seemed a little oddJust a note, you have to walk into the parking garage to reach the entrance That is the main/only entrance

This is probably the best hostel I have ever stayed in The rooms are very clean I really like that everyone has a private locker which opens with your key card

The locker has a small light and a socket inside, so you can also charge your camera, laptop etc while being out The beds are very comfortable and have a privacy curtain which I really like The shared bathrooms are very clean, bath mats and soap/shampoo are also provided The location of the hostel is perfect, it is in a safe area just in walking distance to the Bourbon Street

A very nice hostel experience:- Location excellent with easy access to the airport and most spots in the city via the bus / tram links after a short walk- Comfortable beds and secure storage- Plenty of bathrooms which are cleaned regularly- A nice social atmosphere with the added bonus of a pool table and various board games

I also liked the nice touches such as the privacy curtain and light in each bunk, provision of laundry facilities and partnerships with Nola Blue Bikes which give a free half hour rideTop notch and recommended

One of the cleanest hostels I have ever stayed in! Located very conveniently to reach from the airport as well as central New Orleans; most of the attractions were only a couple of minutes away! The staff was very friendly and helpful, they do not charge extra for stuff like lockers, earplugs or towels and I was just amazed by how neat and clean the rooms and bathrooms were! It is way cleaner that some hotels I have stayed at For this price definitely a must and I would always stay there again!

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking a room This website will compare hundreds of hotel sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area

I’ve been coming here for a long time If you stay for a few nights you definitely will love it I’m sure! The hotel service and staff were very accommodating We had a family emergency and the hotel management handled everything and made our stay comfortable and carefree Thank you for the very clean room, hotel hospitality, good restaurant food and great customer service I will definitely visit again!!!

dolly Salcedo (Dollface)

Room was clean did have an issue with the toilet first it was leaking then it wouldn’t flush but both issues were resolved the same day Relatively close to everything, did see a lot of homeless people around the park front of hotel, cable car stop and bus stop next to hotel Overall service was good

The pool was open which was great because I had been informed after I had booked that it was closed Do wish the pool was bigger though, it was more of a watering hole size no deeper than 45 feet So there was a family the size of 9 and another group of 3 people and that pretty much took over the pool leaving no actual room for swimming

Rachel Kahler

Our initial room had a clogged sink The staff were super prompt getting maintenance to the room, and when they were unable to fix the sink, they immediately got us a new room The maintenance guys were super helpful in getting us new keys while we gathered our stuff

The bar is a great feature of the hotel The rooms themselves were pretty basic, which was what we expected They were clean and the bed was comfortable However, the toilet was a bit wobbly, which I suspect is due to replacing an old toilet with a slightly different sized one, and one of the bolt holes on the floor was slightly too big or the bolt was loose Also, the shower curtain rod was curved while the tub wasn’t No big deal, but it meant that the curtain tended to slide open on either end The curtain still kept the water in, but it made me a bit paranoid that I was making the floor wet

Exactly what we needed! The Greenhouse Inn was the perfect getaway for our New Orleans honeymoon We stayed in the Royal Poinciana Suite on the third floor, and we had plenty of space to spread out, chill, and admire the gardens and pool below Frank greeted us and checked us in, which included a full verbal tour of the area, things we can’t miss, and the best ways to get around the city

Whenever we explored the French Quarter or Jackson Square, we couldn’t wait to get back and jump in the pool The other guests, as well as Charles, were extremely friendly and helpful, and gave the best recommendations for food and entertainment The complimentary breakfast was perfect with yogurt, muffins, and coffee, and was such a relief to save a little money A lot of the guests were repeat stays, and we can see why! We can’t wait to stay here again!!

Absolutely loved it! The owners are so nice and friendly, and the vibe of the place is awesome! Everything is so peaceful and even other residents are friendly The pool and spa are beautiful as well The area is very cute and in a hip, artsy area with lots of great food and drinks within walking distance

We had so much fun and having a nice, relaxing place to come back every night really helped seal the deal If we ever come back to NOLA, we hope to stay again! Truly amazing!

Not the best hostel out there, and I’ve stayed at a few If you’re in a bedroom with windows to the street, any street, (and I think like all the rooms face that way) you will be up all night long listening to people blasting music from LED cars, and if you’re lucky enough, there will be the beautiful sounds of the garbage truck picking up the trash in the wee hours of the morning And they take f o r e v e r to collect all the trash

And the hostel was kinda gross, do not recommend Like dirty walls, limited AC, and I questioned the clean state of the bed linens

Hostel right off Canal Street in the heart of NOLA Bunk bed for two room had only the said bed, a high top table and two stools, but also an air conditioner Plugs plenty for phone charger

Biggest issue is bathroom: wish they had separate toilets from shower rooms as I couldn’t always use bathroom when I needed to plus it could get messy with paper towels flowing out of the garbage can and on to the floor Only one sink in communal kitchen area was difficult at breakfast time But for the money, really not bad place to stay although they are a real stickler with 3pm check-in time! Your code only works right at 3pm!

You know to expect simplicity and shared spaces when you book a hostel But you can also expect comfort, cleanliness and convenience Unfortunately, none of these expectations were met

The bed was so old that any movement would make an incredibly loud and annoying sound whenever me or my roommates would move No hangers, no lockers inside the rooms, no personal bedlight, and no space really to put your luggage somewhere Showers didn’t look so clean to me and restrooms are mixed Wifi down most of the time and barely working in the rooms Also, no windows anywhere in the hostel… a bit strangeThe stars are for the staff who was incredibly nice and welcoming Would not recommend a stay there though

I’ve always enjoyed my travels to New Orleans, but have never stayed at such a cool and unique spot! Very convenient location to some of my favorite places to be in the city, and close to City Park, which I have been wanting to spend more time exploring! The building and interior are very well done, and the rooms are clean and spacious! There is definitely a feel of community at the Inn as you wake up, grab you coffee, and head out for the day The people are great and the owner has great recommendations for places to eat and the latest happenings I will certainly be returning!

The Innkeepers, Todd and Nick, is another reason to book For their hospitality, truly made my stay in New Orleans unforgettable They provided an enjoyable property tour, recommendations, music, and snacks!Thank you to everyone at the Inn, and I look forward to staying here again soon!

We recently hosted a birthday party at The Inn at the Old Jail and it was phenomenal! The building is beautiful and so artfully renovated, which was the perfect backdrop for our Roaring 20’s theme There was so much space to create a great flow of people throughout with a band, food, and a bar It was also really nice to be able to have rooms available for the guests who wanted to stay, and we made brunch for our guests the next morning

Todd was a wonderful host and very accommodating to all of our crazy planning and decorating ideas The entire experience was so much fun! I can’t recommend The Inn enough as both a place to stay when visiting New Orleans and an event venue

I have always been in hotels where the rooms are clean and the amenities are decent enough This location, at $136 a night, is unacceptableThe first room that I had, the room DOOR did not close, absurd

Then, I had issues with the NEXT room that I was given, as it smells disgusting and the carpet is dank, musty, and damp I have never heard of hotel that couldn’t get the carpet right It was so oddAfter my nose adjusted to the smell, I went to the bathroom which looked unclean and half stocked Not a good impressionAfter spending the night, I woke up to try out their breakfast options I expected maybe some eggs, toast, and a yogurt “Very par for the course”, I thought I thought incorrectly The “breakfast” as absolutely horrible, with only yogurt, cereal, some store bought pastry, and that was about it I couldn’t believe that their breakfast selection was so paltry Like, I’ve been in cheaper hotels and inns where they gave a breakfast that at least included eggs and biscuits Really disappointedI don’t leave bad reviews, I always try to find the good in a place, but this place sucked Don’t let the reviews fool you Learn from my mistake and find somewhere else

Jeffrey

Super friendly staff and a great effort made to make you feel comfortable, but this location falls short of standards in some notable ways Noise – it is far too easy to not only hear cars and conversations by people even in the parking lot, but of course by people inside Room condition – you shouldn’t expect too high of standards if comparing to a higher star hotel, but you do expect to have a room that doesn’t have that permanent damp feel, random nail holes around the bathroom, and shoddy drywall patchwork

The best part of the hotel is the reception area, which is neatly decorated and comfortable It is really unfortunate to leave a three-star review, but to be honest it was the friendliness of the staff that kept it from being two star The stairwells had people smoking in them The bathroom towels were either of the lowest quality or 30 years old I have no intentions of staying here on my return visits

I stayed here over the weekend, southern hospitality is alive and well! All of the ladies at the front desk went above and beyond to help with any questions and ensure their guests were well taken care of The room was nice and clean overall as well as the lobby It was nice, they had a coffee machine 24/7

They did not have breakfast, but there is a near by IHOP and Dennys I would stay there again, thank you
