View is spectacular, rooms are comfortable B&B is a little misleading – they do not serve breakfast There is a community kitchen where you are welcome to cook your own

The big community living room is nice Some fixtures in rooms are dated and need replaced, like mirrors losing silvering TV reception in rooms is a little fuzzy, even though they have cable Overall, it’s a nice place to chill and we’ll probably stay there again, but excellence is in the details, so 3 stars

Lindsey Moreno

We’ve stayed here over the last 7 years, this is the 1st time we were disappointed We booked Room 2 but we’re given Room W instead The closet had quite a but of very visible mold

The room was hot from checkin to checkout The minute we’d leave the room, we could feel the difference We lowered the thermostat to 71 & thought after dinner it would’ve cooled down but we had to leave the door open to allow cool air in before bed I believe the room vent possibly wasn’t working Next morning was not as hot but not cool either Room was very outdated and dusty Bright side: The view is beautiful and you can’t beat the price If they’d invest in the mold removal, AC repair and updating & old dusty furniture then we’d be back

Had a wonderful stay at this Holiday Inn Room was clean and bed was extra comfy!Rooms are very quiet, didn’t hear a door close all night! Staff was extremely nice and helpful Location is easy to get to

Pool area very nice! Whirlpool nice and HOT!Would definitely stay again!

M V

This is unfortunately the worst Holiday Inn Express I’ve ever visitedUnfriendly front desk staff, massive parties in their tiny pool was left unchecked by staff, disgusting poo left uncleaned in the lobby restroom, our room was never cleaned and poorly maintained I overlooked all this, but the “breakfast”, dear lord

this was missing the most basic things like butter and just simple variety No waffles, no bacon, no choices just a very simple selection that one would find at a QT gas station I’m a simple guy to please, but even I couldn’t wait to get out of there Their printer didn’t even work to give me a receipt so I just left Way too overpriced and certainly NOT a three-star hotel!!! I think I’ll try another hotel chain next time

Sean M

Very nice The room was large and spacious Everything was clean

In particular, I found the pillow especially comfortable, and enjoyed the large window in my roomI would say this hotel was worth the money

There was a pint of ice cream in the refrigerator when we looked inside of itThe telephone did not workThere was no hand soap in the bathroom

The television remote did not work Switched remote three times before we could find one that would workWe were on the third floor, if we wanted ice, we had to go to the second or fourth floor to get iceThe elevators and elevator doors needed cleaningThe stairways were dirtyThe floors in front of the elevators were dirty, it looked as though they needed to be moppedThe staff was very polite and and the one receptionist was helpful in finding a remote for the television that would work

Collin Maki

You know, if it was not for the customer service I would had this a 1The place is ruin down and is not that wonderful I had 5 rooms and on one of them the door would not work when my team got back at 1 am

So they put them in another room till 6 amThe graveyard shift lady was a jerk and has poor communicationBut the manager took my phone call at 2 am and then took care of everything!! The other lady that was amazing was Trinity!! She works the swing shift 100% she made up for the lack of the place being updated Again, needs a lot of work but the staff cares and you can tell it starts with the management!!

Scott Adair

I would not recommend this place to anyone!! It is not clean! Our bathroom was so nasty!! Mirror had toothpaste all over it , shower had hair in it and just nasty, floors dirty in corners, coffee pot had crumbs all in the tray!! Elevators need to be swept! Rugs need to be vacuumed! Someone needs to learn how to clean!!I complained to front desk about the bathroom and told them to clean it!! Come back and it still was NOT cleaned!!I have NEVER been to another holiday inn that was this dirty!!

Excellent facility Very clean Staff was overly friendly

Grounds were near perfection Room was very nice Fare exceeds Choice branded hotels where we have stayed in Galveston Definitively worth the minimal extra drive into Galveston And, to top it off, Moses was professional, witty and accommodating Stay here with confidence of an excellent visit

Daniel Gonsoulin

The staff is friendly and helpful This hotel has all of the basics that you will need Microwave, mini-fridge, safe, decent cable and an A/C that will really crank it down! The room was very clean and well furnished and quiet

Loved it I did think it was odd having the reception desk on the opposite side of the elevator but it is only a 2 floor building so no big deal

Roland Bray

Don’t you just hate it when the guest before you leaves the alarm on and wakes you unexpectedly!?!? Ha Anyway, the room was clean, breakfast during the week is slim Pickens Breakfast on the weekend is better

The main hall carpet needs to be replacedOverall,we were satisfied with our stay

This hotel was clean and cheap The location is ok, but nothing is really walkable For the price it is not bad

This place is a bit worn and dated There is obvious wear and tear in the room and my hairdryer died after being on for 5 secondsIf you are going to the Houston Space Center, it is only an 8 minute driveAlso, there is a souvenir shop next door to the hotel with space stuff at 1/3 the cost of the HSC gift shopThe pool is under construction and looks like it is a ways out from being done The neighborhood is a little roughThe towels are classic for a small inexpensive hotel (think and small)Beds were comfy and the AC worked well even if it was a bit noisyThis is a good spot for inexpensive solo travel

Craig Mitchell

Deven, the GM, was a great help!He offered us the cards to the two rooms we were considering so we could make a educated decision Our room was great and even included a towel animal! After we left Deven called me an said I had left a pillow! Above and beyond service! I will stay here again!

Melissa Palomino

I chose this hotel solely based on the reviews and I did not call the hotel to ask additional questions Everyone was right, Deven definitely provides excellent service and that is a big plus He goes above and beyond for his guests

The location was perfect for us as it was close to Galveston, Kemah and downtown Houston The rooms were clean, spacious and cleaned daily The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast It was not a true continental breakfast like previous comments mentioned All we had to choose from was Nature Made breakfast bars, Rice Krispy treats, fruits, juice, and coffee For the price we paid per night, I feel that it could have had more options like comparable hotels nearby I would still recommend it and consider staying there again in the future

Girl Next Door

So glad we chose to stay here! Hotel and our room was VERY clean I hope all the rooms have the same beds because our was SUPER comfy! I’ve been disapointed lately by hotel beds, but not here! I have back problems and man did I get good sleep!!! Our room had a ceiling fan which is a big plus for me! Breakfast is included and I can say the dining room was constantly being wiped down, very clean Food was also fresh and very tasty!! Thank you for making our stay a great one

William Doughboy Watson

Even tho they was short staffed, we couldn’t tell The front desk was nice and helpful * daytime and nighttime * The Breakfast was good, the coffee was good and they have different options on the coffee

I like waffles when I’m staying at a hotel and a person can get full off the options they had for breakfast The pool was nice and relaxing The room we had was big and had 2 beds , 2 tables, night stand, good size TV Free wifi Will stay here again if I’m ever in the area

Misty Carreiro

We stayed as a group of 8 in four different rooms We chose this location because it was withing 45 minutes of our Cruise Port in Galveston and at the time about $20000 less than staying on the island

It was very comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating The rooms and bathrooms were clean and housekeeping was very good Breakfast was good and the laundry facilities were ample and taken care of Location was very convenient as there are plenty of restaurants to chose from and a Walmart very close by as well

So far what I liked about the room is that it was really big the restroom was clean I like the fact that you had the shelf set up with all the towels The sink by the restroom had a coffee maker I thought that was really nice Also in the closet there was a blow dryer a iron and the iron table to iron clothes some hangers and the little luggage holder very impressive

Now my concern that I didn’t like was that there was a door in the middle of the room had a childproof plastic knob holder on the door which I don’t know what that was used for kind of suspicious The AC didn’t work it was hot in the room it never cooled down and the shower the cold water didn’t work so you had no cold water I like the fact that you had a table in the middle that was really cute and everything else was fine

Trish Wishy

This place was perfect for the price! I always check reviews thoroughly before I book anywhere, and I have no complaints! We had friendly service, clean rooms, comfy beds, the A/C worked properly, and the floors were nice to walk on and seemed new Last but not least, I was thrilled to find out they serve breakfast unlike so many other hotels nowadays “due to Covid” and they have Texas-Shaped waffles, which I love!!

Jax O’Riley

Recently stayed here a few times & it was absolutely awful, horrible rude service No actual manager or supervisors on property Cleaners and front desk staff are the worst

No one to talk to about actual issues & don’t expect the owner or any manager to contact guests about any concerns Better to spend $25-$50 more a night for a nicer higher quality hotel than this run down horrible hotel Constant police activity, low lives and crackheads at this location It’s very loud, only time its quiet is if no other guest is staying on the same floor or building Disgusting swampy smell overall in most rooms Water is never consistent Pressure low then high Cold barely any hot water Workers always lurking around invading your privacy opening doors without permission etc other people We spoke to also had similar experiences yet there is no one here that cares about the guests They don’t have actual breakfast or any nice pool like they show in the photos The guest laundromat is out of order This place is false advertising They need to update the photos and details online Do not stay here better to go elsewhere- save yourself money & a headache One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at in south Texas Others have experienced infestation of roaches & staff trying to charge guests for towels etc This place needs to be put on reset It needs New owners, new staff, new upgraded rooms or just needs to be shut down that’s how bad it is especially if you stay longer than one daygood luck! I’ll never stay here again

Great location and will be even better after highway construction is finishedNice room, but my ac didn’t blow very well at all and water temp in shower was terribly hard to controlIf you like to get out and away from the treadmill, there is plenty of area to walk and enjoy the area

4 stars only for the ac and shower issue, but would certainly stay, if in the area again

QueenB Thatsme

Perfect location Extremely compassionate and friendly hostess If memory serves me, her manne was ms Gina

The place is a hidden gem Although the pool was not open due to covid 19, my room was pretty nice Microwave, fridge, ironing board and iron coffeemaker with coffee everyday

Maid service everyday, and the staff was totally what you would expect from high end hotels They really treat you good Even the maid serviceI was truly enjoying my stayI just wish the towels were not so scratchy But other than that I really enjoyed it there and will be staying there againThey were very happy and pleasant to everyone

Dorothy Best

This was the worse place i have ever stayed The first room they put me in smelled like urine They did give me another room when I addressed the problem

The second room was even worse It had filth on the top of the dresser, the tv had a line down the center of it, there was roaches in the room along with fleas that me and my daughter had got bites from and more wrong with the room When addressed the a few hours later what they would do about the situation as far as a refund or valture they would not do anything I do not recommended this place

A little slice of heaven! This team goes above and beyond for their customers My wife and I were going to stay at one of their cabins for our honeymoon and didn’t have any cabins available They sent us to their newest location at no cost to us! They left a nice note congratulating us

It was very sweet The hospitality at both locations are Grade A They were there for us if we had any questions every step of the way And the environment was a nice clean atmosphere Great for any family or couple Which is one of my favorite parts about this resort They have a kid friendly area for customers along with another area for the peace and quiet You just can’t get that anywhere else! My kids were making some noise and you couldn’t hear it from the outside We had full size fridge and that helped a lot! The coffee was great but it only makes 2 cups , so if you plan on staying longer please bring more coffee lol Other than that everything was great

Greg Weaver

The room was supposed to be a queen If it was it was very small Other than that it was ok

The front desk person Denny was very rude We showed up a little early and she actually said that she was to busy the night before and sitting there playing on her phone Never seen anyone so rude to there customer If I could have found another hotel I would have Never had such a horrible experience with candlewood Very disappointing

The best part of my stay was when the staff member Aremecia(I believe that’s her name) went out of her way to accommodate me She was a sweet older lady with curly hair I originally booked one night and decided to stay a second night after arriving

I was originally told I had to check out and then check in to get another room and that I could not keep the same room I was told I had to do this book because I booked with a 3rd party I asked for early check in and I was told it was not possible I knew it was last minute so I understood The next day when checking out, this sweet lady found a way to check me in early, offered me to stay in the same room and accommodated all my needs She made it seem like it was no problem at all She was definitely inconvenienced to make these arrangements for me and I could tell she had to move things around for us, but it really made our day go so much smoother Because of her, my stay went from good to EXCELLENT It is service like this you don’t see too much nowadays and that is why it was so extra special She is the only reason why I decided to write this review

Pros: First off don’t listen to the bad reviews on the breakfast Very good full breakfast A+ Crispy bacon, fresh eggs, and cubed potatoes, decent French toast

Great stay overall Comfortable king bed and comfy sheets Nice showerCons: tiny cold pool Very dirty jacuzzi

Miguel Garcia

Location and rooms were good But, breakfast is not included in the room price, unless you pay a higher room price If you have breakfast, you must pay $14

99 + tax There is also an additional 17% charge during the month of June and July Ironically, I was not informed of these when I booked my reservation Other than that, the hotel stay was good

My husband is a truck driver and sometimes my children and I join him on his trips We stop and stay at hotels when we are with the kids for comfort purposes Let me tell you we have stopped hat so many hotels in the past and this by far was the best! It was so clean and cozy

The pool was amazing and clean very well kept and BEAUTIFUL! It’s like staying at a little resort The only thing missing was a hot tub But there is ratio really good amenities like fully stocked vending machines and outdoor space to eat by the pool They even have a breakfast bar in the lobby where you can fuel up on FREE snacks from there mini fridge and coffee and teas It’s super welcoming and the staff is extremely friendly! Trust me when I say this is a good one especially because I am a very OCD clean picky person So when I say this hotel was spot on everything we wanted and needed it was! Also they had a walmart right next to it so we were able to park the big truck and get stocked up and items we needed Thanks for a wonderful stay We WILL be back! Spent my rent money to go see my mom on her death bead, traveled from Waco to Pearland and my stay here was great until I got home thinking it will be alright, to find out without warning that Best Western charged my debit card 200 dollars extra I’ll make it work but man, took quit a hit on this one It will be last resort before I stay at a Best Western again, they shouldn’t ding the people without money or anyone else for that matter

This was a very bad move for Best Western in my opinion

I was just there to give a helping hand But I would like to thank Sonesta for the very well kept room and the well groomed court yard I especially liked that the rooms came with pots and pans

We beat the heat every evening at the pool It was so nice in the court yard I used the outside grill and we enjoyed dinner outside our last night there I will definitely keep a eye out for your suites on my next trip Thanks again for making our experience a great one

Absolutely awesome I had a great experience and we had an issue at check in, however the staff went above and beyond to get issue taken care of The room was basically a 2 bedroom apartment and was so cute and cozy

The guest are all so friendly and inviting as well I did not get a chance to use pool however I noticed it was clean They also had a basket all court and volleyball set up, regretted not taking my basketball or volleyball

Vibe: old apartment complex converted to a hotelRooms: clean and good for the price Beds were comfy and sheets felt fine

The walls are thin Kept awake by drunk people fighting/threatening each other/yelling obscenities from 2am to 4am on a Saturday night; for how well I could hear it it might as well have been happening inside my skullService staff: friendly and helpful!Breakfast: Supposedly existed, but we never saw evidence of it Was down there at 10am Sunday and 9:30 Monday; not so much as a lingering smell either day Not even coffee left on Sunday at 10 Better be an early bird if you want that wormOverall, this is really a case of getting what you pay for It’s perfectly adequate for the more than reasonable price If you plan on being there only to sleep, it’s totally fine If you’re trying to have a relaxing getaway and want to chill at your hotel some, maybe keep looking

The rooms are surprisingly great size Breakfast was fresh with so many healthy options The staff are genuinely so caring and helpful

(Shout out to Kitty for all the help Give this girl a raise!) everything was wonderful It’s so difficult to tell by photos and reviews how a place will actually be This hotel exceeded my expectations Just don’t go through bookingcom unless you want a headache

This was by far one of the worst hotels I have stayed in It smelled like mold and mildew There was hair all over the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen area

We booked this place for four nights but we could only endure the smell for two days When we checked in we ask to speak to the manager because we were unsatisfied with our room We were told that she was off duty It’s been over two and a half days and we still haven’t talk to the manager Please don’t waste your money on this place
