My friend and I stayed at this hotel for four nights last August while on a trip to Kansas and Missouri I was able to snag a deal of only $88 a night – for a Candlewood Suites, that is fantastic! For reference, the previous Candlewood Suites we stayed at in Salina, Kansas was $136 for one night Now, this seems to be an older Candlewood Suites property, so it might feel a bit dated for some, and the lobby area is rather small

Another thing to note: if I remember correctly, housekeeping only comes in your room once a week at Candlewood Suites hotels Since we only stayed for four nights, housekeeping never came to our room I’m sure they’d still come if you request them to With that being said, our room still felt relatively modern, was perfectly clean, well maintained, and everything was in working order I can’t recall any issues we had during our stay This might be one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at in recent years If you’re able to get a similar deal that I did, I would absolutely recommend this place Even if it’s a bit more expensive, I’d say it’s still worth looking into, and it seems to be a perfectly fine choice for extended stays

The rooms look like a studio apt for one bedroom and they do offer a 2 bdrm They let me look at the rooms before deciding and paying They offer a discount for weekly stays

They have free use of washer and dryers and weekly cleaning They have a little workout room and a small store to purchase items you need or forgot They also allow pets on the first floor with a magnet to place on outside of your door if you want someone to know your pet is in there The parking lot is well lit on a dead end road with a Maurices, Target and , home Depot within walking distance

Molli Monson

I rented a room for my parents for a week and they loved it! Very clean The people that work here are very nice to work with They are incredibly helpful and accommodating

I believe I spoke with Tammy, who was so kind! The woman at the front desk also was so so sweet to my parents

This hotel was clean for the most part The room had been remodeled The price was good for what you got

The desk person was friendly The bed was extremely comfortable and it was quiet Of course I was there on a Wednesday The free breakfast wasn’t very good They had eggs, biscuits, bread, cold cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee and make your own waffles The waffles tasted like soap and the biscuits were gone I would stay there again

If you can afford to stay somewhere else DO IT! Though not disgusting the hotel is definitely on the run downside, you can tell that the owner(s) and management don’t care what you think of the hotel outside of the lobby and dinning area The rooms aren’t well maintained the pool needs help and the knowledge of the staff is somewhat lacking While the location is great the cost of the room is low but as they say, “You get what you pay for

” With other nicer places to stay in the area, I recommend going with another place to stay , especially if you have a family They say that you have assess to a gym, but the front desk has no idea where it is and the only local gyms are ones you have to pay additionally for

Hi I just stayed at this hotel for the night, the room was really clean

First our room was cool, despite the portable air conditioner sitting in the bedroom and could have been a tripping hazard We noticed our room was 1of 2 with this kind of unit being vented out the window Second when we got ready to use the hot tub, it didn’t work

When I asked the desk, I was told it was out of order and they probably should get a sign up Then after I showered I looked all over the room for a hair dryer, nothing So I tried to call front desk, and the phone didn’t work So I got dressed and went to front desk I was told they were in the process of replacing the hair dryers I asked if they had one I could take up to the room and was told no The motel wasn’t full, but no offer to get one from another room Finally when we went down to eat, I thought a bagel might be good When I started cutting it, the guy next to me who had just tried fixing a bagel told me good luck that I might need a chainsaw Threw it away, went for eggs, they were cold Ugh! Definitely not a good stay

Hotel was very dirty- bathroom had hair all over it The room did It appear to have been cleaned in some time

Rooms are out dated and not maintained Bed was overly firm We were traveling with other families and they had ants in their room Hotel staff sprayed but did not offer another room or to compensate them Breakfast was not good Entire hotel needs a good scrub down and remodel Only plus is it’s proximity to things Would not recommend

Erica Sharp

They were short staffed on our weekend stay We paid for the highest room for a couples getaway and our floors were not well cleaned, the remote for the TV didn’t work, the bed and pillows felt so hard and lumpy and the front desk couldn’t be inconvenienced for anything I can appreciate the low staff causing stress, but rudeness when we call and make a request is not acceptable

Won’t be going back and not worth what we paid It’s a bummer because the jacuzzi suite has great potential

From the beginning we questioned staying But the kids were excited by the slide and pool and we were all exhausted We requested a suite as we had a large group and the first thing the lady said was “are you sure you really want a suit?” Then explained the cost of it

She said it was just to be sure we really wanted it She was a bit rude but we took it we maybe just to tired for attitude being in the car all dayIf you have allergies especially with dust and mold I do not recommend staying here There is so much dust they moved us from the first room cause of bugs The second room blood stains on the mattress pad Stains on blankets got new blankets and an apology There is so much dust covering everything you wonder if they ever really clean The pool is disgusting smells so bad and the second day it wasn’t even operational due to the smell They told us at 10 they would let us know when they cleaned it They never did my oldest went down around 4 and ran into management who claimed he had no idea and we could go across the street So they sent us over across the street to the neighboring hotel for the kids to swimThe mattress on the couch was barely even usable honestly needed to be thrown away it was torn all down the side Breakfast was terrible sour waffles , dried eggs, sausage that was so Chewy it was disgusting The downstairs in the hall has this wet mold smell Then you can see mold in the peeling wallsNow the good thing the staff tried to help us we had a group in a suit They were very nice in handle the kids She expressed she wished there was more she could do Unfortunately we will not be going back to this hotel will not be recommending it cause even though the front staff in the evening was kind it does not effect the state of the hotel Unfortunately money wasted staying there

Diane Klempnauer

The rooms and service were good, however, when I arrived in the room I noticed the toilet had poop marks in the toilet This means either the toilet wasn’t cleaned between patrons or the housekeeping used it Also, there was less than a roll of toilet paper no other rolls left in the bathroom and only one soap

A couple other small things, it would be a good idea if the room had updated guides for TV channels and instructions on how to use the shower The milk for breakfast was sour, both 2% & whole, I brought this to the attention of the kitchen helper and she corrected it

Marilyn Merle

Sheets felt wet and looked old The sink dripped and this splashed on the floor The AC was cold upon cold! Took a long time for the room to warm to a comfortable cool

Noticed trash in the ice bucket Coffee selections in room were decaf Not my favorite and I am a regular customer of these hotels so recognized the disparity from other experiences

Very unlikely to stay again Staff was mostly pretty accommodatingIt was stated in my booking policy that the breakfast would be included in the price but it indeed was not and we decided to eat breakfast there under the impression that it was complimentary then got charged just under $10 per person for a very mediocre hotel breakfast

And the front desk staff did offer a voucher for a free meal but we were leaving so it was of no use so I did not accept itThe room was extremely warm We set the thermostat to as low as it would go and it continued to just blow warm air The front desk provided me with a box fan but that only could help so muchAnd lastly, the gap underneath the room door that leads to the hall is extremely big I could fit my hand underneath it I could hear every room door and hall door open along with the ice machine on our floor Along with the smell of weed from rooms adjacent to ours It was extremely unsatisfactory And I will not be staying at this hotel again

First off let’s talk about how the hotel gives two types of Atmospheres When u first walk in its all Nice the rooms at the front are nice looking The room we actually got was secluded way in the back of the hotel giving a whole other vibe

Carpet is old, smelled funny, doors old We had to trade rooms 2x because of NO WATER Then finally after settling in our 3rd room, Someone else tried to come into our room Jiggly the door handle They were given the same room number as us Not to mention when we first got there All of these kids were running around outside of the conference hall with no supervision Also kids running back and forth from the hot tub to the pool and pool to the hot tub, throwing towels at each other The nice rooms in the front aren’t even advertised on the website The bar and grill closed early! So then when we were getting our stuff together to check out It was FIRE ANTS in the bathroom and on our towels! I WAS LIKE LET’S GO NOW! That was one of my worst experiences I will NOT be back Pleaseand Thank you! My fiance will be writing his own review as well

Robert Loudermilk

The air conditioner in my room didn’t work,,, they said they are still changing thing over from the boiler from winter(The front desk guy did bring me a fan) But, It was like 80 degrees in my room and I like sleeping in the cool The bed is not very comfortable and it’s $9 for a continental breakfast???The only thing I really liked was the jacuzzi tub in the sweet was pretty nice and had plenty of hot water

Along with her numerous other shady business practices and endeavors, Elsa is a true professional in the way that she takes advantage of good, well meaning people in addition to exploiting her hardest workers for everything they have She is kind to people who she feels can benefit her and once she no longer feels they have anything to offer her she behaves in ways that can only be described as vindictive The hostel itself is very clean thanks to the people she exploits and the beds are comfortable

A great hostel for a very brief stay but I cannot in good faith recommend staying for any extended period of time

Richie Redpill

I booked there and they were closed but the lady decided to pet me stay there for free I thought that was nice but I quickly realized what was going on There us a man staying there for free and first thing she said about him was that he would be kicked out soon

I can see that she thought I was down and out because I drove an old van and looked a but run down myself What she realized is that I’m not broke and am not trying to live for free so when I asked to stay another night and pay, she said “You have to pay for 2 nights” and then asked me some inappropriate questions because I can assure she thinks I am involved with illegal activities LOL She wants to think that So just a heads up It is a nice location but this woman is a narcissistic of the worst kind She tells you how horrible human beings are That’s all you need to know

Stayed for one night and I would absolutely stay again Beautiful, clean accommodations The bedrooms are immaculate and the beds are very comfortable and clean

They provide sheets, pillows, towels The bathrooms are very clean There are two showers and two bathroom stalls that are shared between men and women on the same floor But provided the place isn’t packed, it seems to be enough Two great big friendly dogs will greet you at the door and bring their toys and kisses There is a bit of parking in the back which I would highly recommend because although the house is beautiful and a wonderful place to stay in Kansas City, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy so I wouldn’t recommend walking around at night But if you drive in, absolutely stay here! Also the hosts are absolutely the best!

Front desk staff was friendly enough Breakfast and a pool offered (I didn’t end up using either) but the room itself sucked The fridge in the room did not keep items cold, and the condenser in the fridge leaked water onto the floor

The room had a mildew smell The AC unit was loud enough that my partner was unable to sleep Our room had a king bed, and the pillows offered are smaller sized, almost throw pillows, and not large enough for the bed provided The shower did not have a water resistant inner curtain, so all of the shower water soaked the curtain and pooled onto the floor The smoke detector (I believe? Maybe C02) needed a new battery that caused a flash in the room The TV in the room had weird lighting issues going on where I could see bulbs behind the screen Also, for two people in a room, only three bath towels were provided That did not leave anything to put on the bathroom floor to try and dry up the water (I need one for my body and one for my hair, my partner used one for his body)We ended up leaving a night early to avoid these issues for a second night I brought these issues up to front desk staff hoping for a full/partial refund for the second night, and the staff member listened to my complaints but didn’t offer anything for the poor room condition/experienceAlso, hotel is close to an industrial district so loud trucks move material nearby The sound is loud and travels into the room

Will never stay at another Best Western or Wyndham hotel again I made a booking error and asked about getting it corrected I was polite, never raised my voice, never demanded anything

The GM Pam was immediately rude, short with me, called me a jerk, said I was blackmailing her, and hung up on me I just wanted simple change made They’re keeping my money and refusing to help If you ever need something from this hotel they’re likely incapable of helping you After how I was spoken to by the GM and Best Westerns refusal to do anything they have lost my business forever I hope it was worth the $100

electric buzzard

I hate to give such a low review to a Plus location, but this hotel really felt like a standard BW with a few half-baked cosmetic tweaks That would have given it four stars

however, for some reason, my room was very humid and literally felt “wet” at times I’d leave my baseball cap on the table and it would be legitimately wet in the AM My towels didn’t really dry when hanging in the bathroom eitherOverall, the bed and my sleep was good, and the AC worked like a champ – I like my hotels cold, and that did the trick The staff was friendly, tooI hate to say it but due to the very average rooms that manifest themselves as nicer than they are, I won’t return here when I am in Olathe

This summer I was an intern for a company in the area and had relocated from Texas, I settled on staying here since all Airbnb’s were booked and the apartments were too expensive for me However, this extended stay seemed equally as expensive as renting I was paying almost $600 a week Here’s why I rated this location so low:1

The Billing was inconsistent, instead of notifying me when I was due again, they would let the charges rack up until I was 3-4 days behind and had called to complain about something I had no issue paying but it seemed I would be getting every 4 days instead of every 7 I expressed multiple times that I didn’t understand how I was behind especially when I would pay a larger amount each time I paid so I was under the assumption that I was getting caught up but no 2 I received NO housekeeping! My stay is almost 3 months long and not once did I come back to my bed being made, new/fresh towels, or anything I always had to go to the front desk to pick up new towels even though I was placing my old ones in the hall for housekeeping to know I needed new ones The manager apparently said they tried to stop by but I needed to clean my room for them to do their job is that not the point of housekeeping??? I was gone for about 4 days one week and had tidied up the room and set my old sheets outside just to come back and still NO NEW BEDDING it is ridiculousI’ve also been double charged because one of the employees didn’t charge me the right amount This stay has been painful, if you’re staying longer than a week I would say to find somewhere else it may cost a little more but I’m sure the service would be better

James Sublett

Didn’t stay here, and never will I call their local number to ask a question about their facility, but I got someone overseas, that couldn’t answer any of my questions They connect me to someone at the hotel, and when I ask why I had to wait on hold for 15 minutes just to get someone overseas that couldn’t answer my questions, the guy didn’t even try to answer me

I wasn’t rude I asked a legitimate question, and got hung up on I called at 10:30 CST in Monday June 6th, 2022 Hopefully that tells the hotel who their bad apple is I for real asked 3 questions, with no attitude, and the man said something that I couldn’t understand, in a frustrated tone, and hung up on me After being on hold for 15 minutes, I didn’t get 10 seconds from this guy

Breaonica Blackwell

I am so disappointed in this location! First we can not check in til four after making a reservation The pool is outside has every species of bug is floating in it My room has used eyelashes stuck to the trash can and shopping bags behind dressers with lots of hair in the tub

The front desk lady is a ceiling watcher, when I asked her who the housekeeping manager was she stared blankly into the sky No breakfast and a 20oz beverage is $ 425 & cashless because they have no change onsite The rooms are non smoking however I smell smoke and theres a tailgate party in the parking lot @ 11pm very loud and frustrating I am on vacation and will never be back at $186 a night I would rather take my family to a rest stop!!!!

HOTEL IS CLOSED!!!!! I made a booking in March of 2022 for August 2022 The hotel has been apparently closed for what seems like over a year from reviews Went to go book another room for our party and noticed a temporary closure on the front page of the hotel website

I called Hilton and was reassured that a booked reservation guarantees a booking I asked to speak with a supervisor and was then told the hotel is indeed shut down (with no notice of the hotel or company to let me know for my upcoming visit) I’m now out of hotel rooms for our party of 11 and the cost of the rooms have almost tripled in the area Hilton will not do anything to help that will benefit us in anyway DO NOT BOOK HERE!

Wish there was a zero This is party central Don’t expect to get any sleep, there will be loud music and traffic in and out all night

Suspect some “business” going on with the permanent residents and the “visitors/residents” they are hanging out with Don’t expect any help from the front desk Phone in room doesn’t work, bed was dirty/unchanged Had we gotten any earlier we would have never stayed even one night You are better off to stay in your car at Walmart

Sophie Didrichsons

As we arrive there’s shots fired and several cops

then getting to the room, not including the exterior of the place I’m quite disappointed Instant smell of urine, no smoke alarm, and only half the outlets work Just generally dirty no bath sized towels (in a two bed???) I’m happy at least the sheets were clean and there were no bugs Even at the cheap rate I wasn’t expecting this

Casey Parker

Not worth the money, we stayed for two nights, our room wasn’t cleaned after the first night, and don’t worry if you want new towels, you have to bring down your old ones to get new ones because apparently I now work at this hotel also, that is also after I had to talk to the employee and she had to call her management and get permission, Poor service and customer care Would not stay here again

During my time in the hospital, I don’t know what I would have done without the support of my family Friendship Inn made it possible for my parents to sleep in a bed, see me, and have some sort of calm in such a horrific timeI am forever grateful, and forever in their debtYou’ll find no place better, more welcoming, and more understanding of the needs of patients and family
