A group of us booked 3 separate rooms 4 months before an upcoming wedding, and ALL of our rooms were canceled last minute They told us they would help us rebook at another hotel, but when we called they said they wouldn’t help us Like what the hell? It’d be fine if they canceled us way in advanced, but no they canceled 2 weeks before the trip and at this point most of the other hotels around that area seem to be booked out for other events

Absolutely terrible customer service, never even looking at another Sonesta hotel in the future

Jeeca Cabral

I definitely don’t see how people have given this place 4 and 5 stars I’ve spent nights at the Wyndham in different states and can say my boyfriend and I were very disappointed The room had NO mini fridge

The drain to the shower was clogged so every time we showered the tub filled up The curtain in the bathroom had a old dirty rag musty smell that was a little nauseating Found hairs in the shower the first night I am a pretty tall female so I can’t imagine what it’s like for someone shorter than me to access the safe It was in the closet on the top shelf I couldn’t see if anything was in it and struggled to even put my purse in it and locking it Tennis court was horrible Basketball court was used for employee parking Elevator didn’t seem to secure, you could barely push the buttons without the panel moving with itThe good things about the hotel was the television stations were good, the air conditioner worked fine, had hot water when showering, gym had good equipment

Moza Miller

We had Excellent service here The spa was clean with plenty of towels The rooms were spotless

The room also turned out to look better than the photos you see online The linen is very clean and soft The toiletries are very soothing to the skin The beds and pillows are very comfortable The doors are wide enough for wheelchair access even if a handicapped access room isn’t available Their onsite restaurant have a variety of food and drink and stays open late Also the dining room have some 😋 delicious food If you come back from a late venue like we did the hotel has the menu for a nearby restaurant that delivers to the hotel and they make some spectacular food This hotel staff go over and above to make sure your stay is comfortable If I’m ever in the NY/NJ area again I will definitely stay here again

Good basic motel Stayed 2 nights in early July 2022 Would stay here again

PROS:Clean enough in roomPet friendly with a charge of $20/night limited to max $40 per stayFree breakfast with waffle maker, 3 kinds of cereal, etcCONS:Yogurt may not be refrigerated properly I told the front desk they should get thermometers to put in the dining area mini-fridges to verify they’re cold enough Time will tell if they do this I think I got sick from the yogurtShould have cleaned around the side entrance “A” better; trash can there needed emptying and the sidewalk needed power washingOutside lighting not working on sidewalk east of entrance “A”; dark at night, had to use my cellphone flashlight going out to the carCaution: navigating to or from here, Google thought the motel was in the middle of Rt 46 westbound I reported this bug to Google and hopefully they’ve fixed it Navigation was the only thing incorrect; if you just look up the location on Google maps it shows correctly

really quite nice and inexpensive Faced with paying about $250 for a night at the Hilton Garden Inn or $150 at the Turkey Inn, it was a great inexpensive alternative The person with whom I spoke a couple of times before I arrived was thoughtful and attentive and made the logistics work perfectly

A large comfortable room with old furniture was really welcoming This is a great find in the State I Hate (Spent my formative years in NJ and its certainly a good part of the reason I am malformed)

Katie A

Loved staying here! I called the owners last minute and they were so accommodating and got everything ready quickly I spent time talking to Bill upon arrival whose family owned the inn for generations and he is lovely! So much history! The room (room 9) was on the top floor and large, comfortable and such a great value Included coffee, a cooktop, microwave and fridge, a large seating area and work desk

The grounds are lovely and we’ll cared for, and it’s a quick 2-3 minute walk into the middle of town Definitely recommend and will be back

Kathleen Brennan

Super-cute inn only a few blocks from Springfield Avenue and the Summit Train Station Though there is free parking, it is also close to community parking lots My ensuite room was big, very clean, and came with thoughtful details like a bottle opener, champagne flutes, and even a flashlight

Check-in was finished even before I got there (I received my keys in a personalized envelope), and there is a complimentary coffee bar in the sunny front sitting room The only downside was that there wasn’t an elevator (that I saw), so anyone with mobility issues might have a more difficult time reaching the rooms on upper floors

We arrived and was given a room that upon first entry was clean and it appeared everything was fine The room happened to be on the side with a lot of street traffic, which made sleeping the first night completely impossible That next morning, we realized the a/c didn’t work properly and we had an unwanted “guest” (rhymes with coach!) in our bathroom

We spoke with Amanda at the front desk and she was able to move us to the opposite side of the hotel room we were in THAT room was also clean, a/c worked and sleep that night was great! Breakfast selection was nice Amanda is the reason I’m able to give this hotel a better rating than I would have if we stayed in the room we were given

Thallis Miranda

We were very disappointed, I have never left a bad review in any of the dozens of hotels I’ve stayed through the country or world Lights weren’t working, service at front desk neglected to take requests Other customer complaining constantly, one gentleman checked in his room and small daughter to find blood stains on bed sheets

Last time we stayed there we loved it (about 2 years ago) seems like no updates have been done at all since, neither has any repairs There was puke in the entrance sink to the room The paper towel at the lobby men’s bathroom was empty for all 4 days we stayed there Breakfast was dry and cold, attendant didn’t care much when advised about breakfast essentials such as cups and food ran out We paid the same price for what we could’ve paid staying in Manhattan Unfortunately we will not be recommending this hotel neither will we be returning again

Mario Jones

The rooms in this place are extremely out dated and unsanitary However the ladies at the front desk were extremely nice and helpful, that’s the reason why I gave this place at least (2) star’s The breakfast was non existent, no juice only water, nothing but cereal and bread, a few old stale bagels and boiled eggs

We used to love this place, but I can’t imagine recommending this place any longer to my company HR department when our travelers fly into liberty airport

Truly the worst hotel stay

wait, I can’t even call it a stay because it was so bad we left immediately after seeing our room Truly the worst hotel EXPERIENCE of my life Upon arriving and approaching we were rudely informed that, even with our reservation, nothing would be available for at least another hour before being completely ignored We left to find something to occupy us for an hour and came back at the stated time just to be ignored for another five minutes before being treated to a check-in process involving almost being double charged and a check-in employee largely unable to understand or utilize the check-in software During this process which took nearly 15 minutes, another of the employees arrived REEKING of cigarette smoke in a lobby with multiple prominently posted signs declaring the hotel to be “Smoke Free”, which was a complete and utter joke as we will get to shortly After finally getting keys after an excruciating ordeal of a check-in, we learned there are no elevators in this multiple floor joke of a hotel This was not an issue for us personally but any mobility-impaired individuals (and of course, any sane individuals as well) are advised to stay well clear of this establishment As we made our way down the hallway and up the stairs, it was very clear that this hotel is very much NOT smoke free as making your way to your room is largely akin to swimming through a swimming pool filled with the ashes of a thousand smoldering Marlboros After opening the door to the room, we were treated to the sight of a greasy dingy room in which the smell of smoke still hung heavy and oppressive and it was at this point we turned tail and made for the lobby, where we announced we would NOT be staying Would give this place negative 5 stars if possible Horrible

Fort place B and B was great! Close to the Staten Island ferry so Manhattan was easy access Paul was a great host, had breakfast at our door 7:30 am sharp both days! Couldn’t ask for a better host, hands off and very welcoming If you choose fort place you won’t be disappointed and do yourself a favor check out Beso for some amazing food

It’s walking distance from the B and B

Krista Stonecipher

We came to NY only for a couple of days and needed something affordable This B&B was a great fit for us While the owner does have a little spot for parking, we were lucky to be able to find street parking right out front of the house without a problem and never received a ticket

Having the ferry only a short walk away was fabulous!!!We stayed on the top floor, which is a bit of a climb when you’re carrying a large suitcase, but the rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable and bathroom was adequate The breakfast wasn’t the worst I’ve had but I thought could have offered some protein options like a hard boiled egg or peanut butter It was quite warm when we were there (first week of August) but the AC units in each room worked well Maybe because we were on the top floor or maybe because it was the weekend, we didn’t have any trouble with outdoor noises while sleepingMy only complaints were the bathroom towels (very rough; they could use replacing) and the WiFi connection I literally had to sit on the hallway stairs to get any sort of reception After a long day of walking around, it would have been nice to relax with some TV and since the channel options weren’t the best, I would have like to use my phone without having to gauge my data plan! Other than that, I thought the owner was nice and accommodating And his artwork which was displayed throughout the house, added a nice, personal touch! I would recommend to others

Ahmed Nassrat

We were on a road trip from Nova Scotia to New York City for Easter Weekend and stayed two nights here This B&B has an amazing location only a few mins walk from the ferry to Manhattan, clean and very well priced Paul the owner is very helpful and will take care of all your needs

This is not a fancy B&B, but includes everything you need and is a great value The breakfast is good and includes a fresh bagel, fresh fruit and tea/coffee I would highly recommend staying here if you are spending sometime in NYC and don’t need anything fancy

I know this is a 3 star hotel, but what they offer for breakfast can be better For example, bagel in a plastic bag and cold No toaster to warm up

I know its Covid and I understand the cost factor, but just little warm bagel will make everyone start the day with joy Just my opinionThe room is nice and clean bed is comfy Location is great

Melody Welsh

Decent hotel: comfortable bed, reasonable staff, nice shuttle, not allot of stuff in the room and it was a little gross Be aware though the latest checkout available is 1pm, so if you have a supper late flight (we arrived at 4am, you won’t get a chance to sleep in)Comfortable bed: the bed was nice and we were able to sleep in itNot allot of stuff in the room: there were only 3 pillows, and 2 towels for a king size bed, felt a little skimpy, no extra blankets in the closet either

Ac worked awesome though

Mary Governale

Terrible hotel! We traveled with a group of family and had 4 rooms at this hotel Every one of us had multiple issues with our rooms I had to move rooms 3 times because the a/c did not work in most of the rooms

Others in my group had plumbing problems in the bathroom All of us continuously had problems with the keys not working Not only would be locked out of room and have to go to front desk to get new keys but I was also locked out of parking lot and outside door to parking lot The beds were uncomfortable and felt like the mattress had broken springs Pillows were so thin you felt like you didn’t even have a pillow, asked front desk for extra pillows and was told they didn’t have any, asked someone different the next day and they gave us some The shuttle bus drivers drove unsafely and went through red lights The pool was closed and when we walked by we could see in the windows they filled it with mattresses There were out of order signs on most of the ice and vending machines The breakfast was only cereal, fruit or a bagel Front desk staff was rude and did not care When we brought any issue to their attention they just made excuses telling us they were short on maintenance staff or are cards weren’t working because we had it too close to our cell phone (NOT TRUE!!) Never an apology or offer to compensate us in any way In fact at one time they told a member of my group they could either deal with or move to another hotel! What kind of customer service is that!! Many times throughout our stay we heard other guests complaining about other issues they were having as well I checked the reviews before we booked here and they seemed to be positive but we were told by an employee that the hotel recently changed ownership and they have had a lot of issues since so I would not trust any of the previous reviews Those may have been before the new owners DO NOT STAY HERE, NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Many other hotels right in the same area you can stay at and probably have a better experience I have stayed at other Country Inn and Suites in the past and never an issue but after this experience I will not be staying at any in the future

The hallways smelled Really awful on the 2nd and 3rd floor**It is not really a hotel flaw, so I can’t blame them for that I found out while looking for an ice machine, which they don’t have even though the map (blurry due to casing being matte) by the elevator mentions “Ice” with no indication of where it actually is

I believe someone cooked extremely strong scented ethnic foodAlso, I’m assuming that they Had ice machines at one point and got rid of the machine due to the pandemic or something else No ice machines to be found on any of the floors Nonetheless, the employee in the kitchen on the first floor by the bar was nice enough to give us iceThe hallways need to be ventilated or something, the smell was very strong and stale air Other than that, the rooms are very clean and there was minor wear and tear, but nothing that I can imagine would bother anyone unless you’re a perfectionistThe kitchen was stocked with some cups, plates, a cheese grater, fridge, etc Seems fine for 1-2 people max Rooms are very small, but comfortable1 star for odor in hallways and elevators (deducted from “Rooms”)0 star for the view behind the hotel 😂 it’s a construction site or a recent demolition Again, not really the hotels fault and that’s not exactly a deal breaker for people who are just visiting the area short-term or need a place to crash for the night

Aaron Guzman

Horrible experience here Before booking I called and spoke to manager to clarify check in and check out policy, all seemed wellUpon arriving, the woman at the desk “couldn’t find” the reservation I had paid for in advance

Eventually she found it, room is nice but the dishes dishes were not clean and there was trash in the couch crevicesNow three days later I need to check out 1 day early, as discussed before hand The woman who was at the counter this time was much more helpful and polite, props to herAll of a sudden the smug manager (same guy I spoke with before booking) comes out and begins explaining that he won’t allow me to check out early as discussedUpon reviewing both of our sets of notes and asking for further clarification the manager was unable to show me the policy he’s referencing and refused to pull up the call recordings where he claims he told me otherwiseHe said “it would be a lot of work to pull up that call”I guess when something requires work they just don’t do it…As a business owner myself, I can say, this is not how you treat customersThis was a simple bait and switch to force me to pay for the additional night that I did not need, since the beginningAlso, although I clicked “no housekeeping” when I booked online, housekeepers walked in on me while I was sleeping this morning

JoAnn Kelleher

Wish I could rate the stay but I’m sitting in the lobby as the room is not ready even though check in was at 3 pm It is now 3:47 pm We have been here since 1pm as we were told that we could use the facilities prior to check in

But when we said we wanted to use the pool we were told no After speaking to the manager, he said we could use the pool but also said our room would be done soon I’ll check in again and tell you how it’s going!

Listen! I love this place! The location is amazing you have the park and the river front around the corner and Penn station right down the street from ferry street! On top of the service friara and his wife prove an excellent service The rooms are cleaned and well maintained and make sure you’re comfortable during your stay They are very accommodating and will be coming back! They are responsive and very hands with any issues you have

Munashe Shumba

I’ve been so pleasantly surprised by this place! It is as beautiful as the photos The floors are in pristine condition, kitchen appliances are modern, stainless steel, the bathroom is clean, no mold, looks new, each guest has their own access code which grants access to only the appropriate apartment and bedroom which is perfect for security in a place shared by many It’s very clear a lot of love and money went into putting this place together

The spaces are also cleaned frequently and there’s a robot vacuum that periodically cleans common spaces Host/owner pops in to check in on guests every day or two There’s an efficient system to keep everything running smoothly from name tags in the fridge to lockable cupboards in the bedrooms The rules are very clear and sensible -keep your stuff in cupboard, cleanup after yourself, no sleeping on the couches, be fully dressed all the time- just how to be a decent human when you share a space with others This place is also very affordable! The neighborhood is lovely and feels safe There’s a gorgeous bike path and park a block away by the canal/river and there is another park with tennis courts 3-5 mins walking distance away 15 mins walking distance from Harrison Path and also from a strip with banks, shops, etc This place is for people who know how to live considerately of others The rest are going to spoil this gem for everyone else

Jermaine Cacho

Great place to stay with an even better price! Especially for the amazing quality you get Mixed dorms, however women get their own room and aren’t mixed into rooms with menIt’s exceptionally clean and very comfortable, as well as relaxing

The guest tend to respect one another and I never once felt concerned for any of my belongings turning up missing Many are actually very helpful to other guestsClean kitchens and all are welcome to use it as they please The owner, Mr Faria, is reasonable and always willing to helpI’m so honesty, it took some getting used to sleeping in bunks again at my age lol, but it was comfortable and I got along with my bunk matesIt’s not your typical hostel, it’s more like a bed and breakfast, only you make your own breakfast lolYou can’t beat the price for the quality

Erin was fantastic to work with! She answered every phone call we made We had a huge wedding and needed a lot of rooms We also needed a hair and makeup room and a room for brunch the next day

Our friends and family can’t stop talking about how elegant the Archer was Our wedding used the pool, the bar area, and it was centrally located to everything The shuttles picked up our guests timely for our wedding at the Crystal Plaza only a short 10 minute drive away The Archer even gave us a wedding gift which we will treasure in our new home we just bought If you’re looking to be treated like royalty, book the Archer and ask for Erin!-Rachel and Adam Marcus

We really enjoyed our one night stay for a wedding Front desk staff was pleasant and efficient and were able to check us in early The hotel has a great esthetic and the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with lots of nice touches like books at the bedside and complimentary salted caramels and water

Would recommend and would stay again

Violet Kitsune

We booked this hotel to attend a wedding Overall the place was pleasant and comfortable, and everything was clean The only complaint is that the staff were a bit lacking in hospitality; we were presented with a check for breakfast as soon as we sat down, and I requested an item only for it to be brought up hours later

Other than the minor complaints, we enjoyed our stay

Having a great stay and this will definitely be my hotel of choice when I come back again for work Love having the kitchen in the room, though it’s honestly not even that necessary with the free breakfast and on week nights they give you a free drink ticket and some bread and cheese There are also a good handful of restaurants nearby and it’s right across from the PATH station

We are staying here for five days The place could use a new living room set but otherwise it is a nice place to stay Manhattan hotels prices have become outrageous and since we’re traveling and visiting both Manhattan and Brooklyn this place seem to be Central to where we needed to be

We have the one bedroom apartment I wouldn’t call it a room because it has a bedroom, a living room a small dining area, small kitchen and a pretty decent bathroom If you want to be in Manhattan and don’t mind a 20-minute ride on the PATH train, this is the place besides when you’re coming to a vacation in New York you’re not planning on staying in the room anyway Customer service is great! I met the desk staff and the cleaning personnel The restaurants that are here “Ah Pizz” for pizza and Five Guys, and right downstairs there’s a restaurant on location here at the hotel and other stores and pub places nearby

I was skeptical to stay after reading a few reviews, but I am glad I didn’t listenfirst they lets us in the room early, the room and bathroom clean, beds were comfy

Hallways and main floor were clean and smelled nice We ate at the pub and Pablo the bartender/ waiter was great We shared all our food and he made separate soup bowls, salad and our entree’s Also we bought wine from snack area and was able to drink our wine with dinner, that was very nice of Pablo We saved on drinks which reflected on his nice tipThe pool was nice and what a great gym, unfortunately I didn’t partake but my husband did He was like a kid in a candy shop I would recommend this place I hope to stay here soon

It’s pretty good! Our hotel room was perfect I wish that the bathroom was in a different location or just street it was weird how it was positioned like the toilet but I guess there’s nothing I could do about that also a weird thing was that there was a beam in my shower just kind of on the side I found that slightly strangeI want to give it a three out of five but I’m giving it four because The employees here really are so funny and sweet very nice and also I loved how the police was just minutes away from the venue at the Venetian We had breakfast on our thing but we didn’t end up using it and we didn’t use the pool either but I heard it was pretty nice from the other guests

Positives: Nice location, good staff, reasonable price pointNegatives: LOUD – thin walls make sounds permeate throughout the entire building

Given this hotel is a frequent wedding venue the clientele can be loud in hallways AC units take a while to cool rooms leaving a very stuffy feeling
