Impressed! Rooms are very clean with modern finishes, and the bed was super comfortable! Staff were all kind and polite, and there were a lot of great options included in the free breakfastThe hotel also has security which was a relief I read a few reviews of other hotels in the area where cars got broken into, so it was a relief to see that this hotel had security

My car was safe and I had no issues! My one complaint was the noise level in the hallways Not something the hotel can really control, but it was annoying I was woken up both nights by loud guests in the hallway around 2am I guess the well-priced nightly rates brought in some disrespectful guests! Overall though, very satisfied with this hotel

Firnah the front desk manager is very helpful I came in and she was very friendly she had a smile on her face And she made sure that I didn’t have any questions

She let me know if I had any questions to let her know She let me know when and where breakfast would be in the morning She let me know about the pool When I checked out she asked me how my stay was And I told her that my stay was wonderful I told her the room was great and that I would be coming back again The property is very nice from the first time I stayed before it was renovated

This by far the worst hotel I have every been in Floors were so nasty as you were getting off the elevators MOLD MOLD MOLD 🤮 was on the mattress of the sofa bed

Please make sure you look at your mattress before you stay They will fix the sofa bed up so that you will not have to fix so they could hide the filth of the mattress but CHECK CHECK CHECK Better yet don’t even waste your time Also I’ve had tried to reach the manager about the problem and he never returned my call The first night we heard shooting like five shots and they said it came from the interstate but it was way to close Lights were not working, iron was not working, and the air conditioner was making loud noises Would not ever step foot into that place again Please do not waste your money!!

I stayed here because my airline cancelled my flight and this is where they put me up overnightThe staff were friendlyThe location is awful

The amenities are non existentKeeping in mind I didn’t have my suitcase with me, and had been traveling all day, I was disappointed to find that they did not have vending machines, other than ice cream, and they didn’t have anything in the breakfast area in the morning When I asked about vending, I was told I could walk to the gas station nearby that’s a different, very frightening review The sirens and noise from other guests were the not conducive for sleep and I was propositioned in the hallThe room seemed cleaning but the hotel overall was a bad paint job over old paint jobs It felt rundownPlease note, I stay at LQs often, and at other Wyndham properties occasionally This just doesn’t meet their basic standards

Room was clean and comfortable Lots of noise with construction next door; don’t plan on sleeping in Second night there (Wednesday morning) the city emptied the dumpsters at 3:15 a

m Staff was very courteous and helpful Remote for tv didn’t work and maintenance was there in less than 10 minutes to fix Breakfast is amazing there, good selection including making your own waffles Lack of good sleep makes staying there again unlikely

Ashley Hiltone

The appearance of the hotel was good, but when we laid down the sheets smelled horrible I had to deal with the smell until the morning, I nicely asked a housekeeper to give me cleaner sheets but it seems that she didn’t understand because when we came back even the towels smelled horrible too The food was great, no complaint about that,I wont be coming back

Letrisha Walker

Rooms were okay however bathrooms/tubs need updating or cleaned better Looked dingy/stained I Asked to be moved into another room and at first was told there were no other ones like my room type and was told I would have to pay to upgrade however I reminded the lady I used my Marriott rewards points and then she magically had the same type room available so I was accommodated but the tub wasn’t any better

I will not stay at that location again

This hotel was very clean & nice staff I checked in very early upon arrival The room was clean

It had a microwave and fridge As well as a coffee pot Only complaint is the water in the shower stayed Cool, It never was hot for my 4 day stay Which sucks because I love multiple showers a day an I love relaxing in a tub!! There is plenty of restaurants and Starbucks around There’s also a convenient store where you can buy snacks and food and drinks There’s a smoke shop for the smokers There’s a Cvs right around the corner actually is walking distance The bed was very comfortable It had a door to close for privacy from the living area The sofa was extremely comfortable The view was phenomenal I really enjoyed the openness of the hotel You can literally see all the floors and rooms from the inside There were 2 TVs one in the living/sitting area the other was in the bedroom The customer service was awesome The bartender was very friendly and the drinks were very affordable I would definitely recommend others staying here Most definitely is a 4 star hotel Would recommend definitely & will be returning Btw parking was free which I enjoyed the most Security deposit was $100 total stay…

Elizabeth Heaster

We love staying here due to the convenient location & large rooms! All of the rooms have the bedroom seperate from the living room which is really a HUGE plus when traveling with kids! The rooms are also veryyyy spacious which we love The breakfast is very good They have an hot tub (outdoor) & an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, that’s not heated

I do wish they had another hot tub inside & I also wish the hot tub & pool were open later, it would be greatly appreciated Also, do not be hesitant to stay here due to the name change I honestly have experienced much better customer service here since the name change!

Tamie Allen

Seems it was once a really nice Hotel The furniture is dated in the suites and housekeeping could be better Had an old musty smell upon entering the rooms

Windows had a thick white film over them, changed rooms because you couldn’t even see out of if Entrance to the Hotel was lovely with water fall and I really liked the glass, see through elevator The front desk staff was friendly and helpful

We relocated from Houston & stayed a lot a few hotels, this being our last and Best! Everything was great, but especially the cleanliness and customer service The morning front desk agent, Mr Vin, has such a positive attitude and has always been very nice and polite

We haven’t experienced that with Hotels here, and it’s very refreshing! We’re new in town knowing no one at all, & him being so nice is more than welcoming! The breakfast has been the best yet, also! A full breakfast that my daughter loves, and it really helped make this feel like a temporary home and not just a room Y’all are wonderful! 🌟

Kathy Green

The property is clean, well maintained and easy to find I requested an accessible room, but the toilet was standard height, the sofa was low and the bed was high The shower was the only thing accessible

The bold print description for the hotel states “Full hot breakfast”, but the only things hot were the waffle griddle and coffee machine There was no juice or water There were 3 choices of cereal, packaged pastries, fruit and yogurt Call the property for clarification before booking

Laureen Wats

I have had the worst luck finding a clean room I drove in from GA first hotel I tried was straight trash This one was better but still not to standard especially with covid still being an issue

I also did not have full access to my room For whatever reason my key would not work and I had to wait to be let in any time I left the room I spoke to the manager an was given a working key this morning but I only booked 1 night All she had to say about the room not being properly cleaned was that she will check with the room attendant I don’t know what’s going on with the lack of service in these hotels recently but it’s really disturbing I used to work housekeeping and I would have lost my job if I left a room looking even if portion of how nasty I’ve experienced in these two days I was trying to visit but now just passing through Dallas Things like this are why Airbnb is taking over the hotel industry There is no respect for the consumer

Great little place to stay! It’s a small room but very cozy and great location! We did have to pay $11 for parking a day, but they do offer free parking!! They also are very responsive and friendly! For pride month, we received a free shot each upon our arrival at check in What a simple and cute perk for guests to feel special They also have fresh lemon water, which I loved! Every morning and night I’d fill up my yeti and get some! We will definitely be staying again upon our next trip to Dallas

Absolutely FANTASTIC stay!! If you are looking for a NYC vibe…IT’S HERE! If you love clean lines & minimal, calming decor…THIS IS IT! The beauty of this circa 1920’s building is shown and appreciated by the owners and brothers, Blake & Brandon Shirk The original exposed red brick adds texture & art complimenting the modern fixtures & decor! From the inviting entry & social area to the combo front desk/art-deco bar(which is genius), all leading to the very well lit hallways, where everyone will feel safe! The rooms are perfect! Finally a hotel that “gets it”! I, like most, are only there to shower & sleep… not needing all the extra “stuff” to take up space Clean walls & floors! Ultra soft, white spa-like bedding, a touch of greenery & wood accents and…

A RAIN SHOWER😃Oh …and wait for it…they even have a bidet in every bathroom!!😆 Now that is extra!! The owners checked me in, bar tended, and offered friendly conversation! I will now be a regular when visiting Dallas! Outstanding experience!

Joel Shapiro

Fantastic locationGreat concept for a hotel We love staying in European hotels which have a similar boutique vibe to SOVA

The execution of the renovation of the building was not so great If you are a light sleeper, I would stay away from this place The thinnest walls of any hotel I have stayed in, including the US and Europe You can hear water running through them, as well as the voices of anyone in other adjoining rooms or the hallways Few of the rooms have windows, which is kind of strange! We were in an inside room (206)Despite these shortcomings, we had a great time in Dallas and would possibly return to SOVA, if the situation was right The prices were much lower than other hotels in the area, and we were treated well by the hotel staff, who were always friendly when we came in and out

I stayed here for a month and the room was comfortable but I did find roaches Although they clean the rooms once a week, it was when they got cleaned where I’d find roaches in my room Also felt that the kitchen wasn’t stocked properly, but this was never resolved when I called

I checked out last week and got charged the $75 deposit even though I didn’t do anything to be charged the deposit The deposit I feel is an issue with any hotel at times so I am still trying to resolve thisUpdate: never gave me back my deposit and never got a reason or response for it

Emaline Lynn

I would absolutely give this zero stars if I could Toilet constantly running and eventually overflowing onto the bathroom floor Musty smell from floor to ceiling, sticky floors and grimy surfaces throughout

I booked the hotel for two nights and couldn’t even bare staying through my reservation There is an infestation bed bugs and/or fleas Misleading reviews on a third party website are the reason took a chance on this place I’d have to say the largest problem is the staff The lady working the front desk was not only of the coldest woman in hospitality I’ve ever seen, automatically going into autopilot instisting we were lying about any and every problem She even explained to us after coming into our room with a camera that she was trained to find them and left the original paperwork I signed when I first arrived and walked out of room like she had done this her entire career SLEEP IN A WALMART PARKING LOT, A HOMELESS SHELTERNOTHING IS WORSE THAN paying a company to infest your own house with bed bugs, feel so dirty you cant get clean, and being treated like a liar or/and some entitled guest that is looking for an easy way to get a free stay I’m going to sleep in my car now and then call the general manager in the morning At this point it looks like the hotel has got ripping people of down to a science and is used to keeping themselves out of legal troubleDisgraceful to Dallas!!!!

Kitambra Jeffries

It was a pleasure arriving to a friendly staff and clean room after traveling across three states in a couple of days I made the reservation via priceline and didn’t know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised I would definitely recommend to colleagues and will be staying here when in town

The construction is the only down side but it shall soon be completed

The hotel is older and is in need of some renovation Carpets are worn and the walls were dirty in my room There was a worn chair in my room also with a hole in the cushion

On the positive side the bed was comfortable and the ac was cold My room had a small refrigerator and a microwave also This hotel sets back from the freeway so there was not a lot of traffic noise The employees were nice and accommodating I was traveling alone for a job, so I only needed the basics This hotel fit the bill at a good price That being said, I would not stay here again

Bethia Berry

The staff was great! Beyond great! The place was very clean and smelled of freshly used cleaners I was very happy until I showered The shower floor was funky and felt like it was not clean

The handle in the shower was grotesquely sticky with who knows what, so that was disappointingThe bed was a little hard but still comfortable Breakfast was overcooked, so I just made a waffle I would stay here again, provided a clean shower

H. J. Crow

Good, comfortable mattress and excellent breakfast including eggs, bacon, biscuits, and hash brown patties The breakfast alone made this stay a very memorable one The only complaint I have is that when we went to breakfast at 8:00 a

m, they still had chairs on top of the tables I asked if it was okay to take the chairs down and use those tables and was told yes My question is, why wouldn’t they take all the chairs down before breakfast instead of making their guests do it?

I was very scared due to seeing previous reviews but wow! Nicest nurses I have ever met and I’m a nurse so I know how mean some can be, they stayed on top of my pain, gave me good tips on how to get in and out the bed, and Helped me position in bed Wish I could have stayed longer for more help but they are closed on the weekends and my procedure was Friday morning Literally couldn’t have asked for a better experience post op tummy tuck

I was a little out of it but I do remember Tammy, Marissa, Diane, and another nurse (can’t remember her name) were all awesome!

The bed and overall room was good, no bed bugs and the employees are nice It’s just my husband and I found a used condom on the floor next to the fridge so that was really gross The security of the parking lot is so and so, I saw a lot of people out at night there and there’s even a sign that tells you to hide and/or take your belongings so it doesn’t get stolen from your car

Driving cross country or just for one night, this is a pretty decent place, they just need to work on cleanliness

Amari Shaw

The only reason they aren’t excellent is because the front desk employees are rude and diss honest about services and regulations The front desk employees are also racist in a lot of different manners Overall I love the location and the majority of the housekeeping there cleanliness is approved as well

Love that of course!

Nasty!! I’m pretty sure this is an apartment complex masked as a hotel This is ghetto, nasty and no free breakfast If I had not arrived in town after midnight I would look for another room

Stay clear if you ask meNO FREE BREAKFASTBy the way that free breakfast is an absolute lieThe carpet is gross couch is garbage and the place needs a serious paint jobWhy are there two moving trucks at a hotel? Things here seem strange

I have to admit

it was memorable My wife and I stayed there this weekend as part of our first visit back to Dallas in over a decadeThere was a big ball of hair in our bathroom garbage, the room smelled like smoke (I’m not even sure they offer non-smoking rooms?) And the place didn’t feel very safeThe staff was pretty nice so they earn a star but the hotel itself gets zero stars in my book

Derek K

My friend booked us for a night at the illustrious Hawthorne “Suites” for Fan Expo 2022

I did not look into our accommodations until the day of our trip, when I looked up the address on GoogleAfter reading some reviews I asked her “What kind of crack den did you book us into?!” To which she insisted “it’s only one night, it’ll be fine!”Later that evening, she admitted that she was mistakenThe property is an old apartment complex (built in 1979) which went under, and was bought out on the recommendation of a clever little scheming accountant at the Wyndham corporate office I’m sure they got a great priceThe locale itself is not dissimilar to the neighborhood in Training Day which Denzel Washington’s character described as “The Jungle” – “You don’t come in here with anything less than a platoon” – Shirtless men gathered in groups watching you drive in, broken down cars everywhere, screaming kids running around rampant (at midnight) The usual for a Wyndham property, I assumeThe walk up to the “suite” was every bit as reassuring as the drive in Complete darkness, no lights in the stairwell or above the doors The door itself looked like at least 15 no-knock warrants had been served Strong door! Please refer to the pictures for further information on the state of the property, the accommodations and the free mystery parcels sitting on the balcony

The lobby looks like a five-star hotel The staff was nice It’s a sketchy area however they had an electronic fence

That’s where it endsThe rooms are at best a two star at best The carpets are filthy Room smell stagnant There was hair in the tub and bathroom floorIf they remodeled rooms… It would be a good property

Gibron Ledbetter

I definitely will and recommend anyone to stay at this hotel I was greeted promptly by Jorge when entering the hotel He made the check in process fun, quick, and easy

He made me feel like a valued guest and informed me since I was a gold elite member that I was upgraded to the PRESIDENTIAL SUITE!! The room was awesome It was clean and had a lot of enjoyable amenities I liked the gated parking lot and locking entry into the hotel The breakfast was hot, good, and tasted fresh I had 2 guests with me and neither one of us had complaints about our stay Thank you again Jorge and the team for a wonderful stay at your hotel

Lanni Smith

Good spot when our flight was cancelled The shuttle service tried claiming they’d come to the airport multiple times even though we’d sat in the same spot as we told the dispatcher and never saw their minivan once (at least it wasn’t for an hour like the other lady waiting on them) Room was nice and the concierge was respectful

The morning shuttle driver was such a kind man! You could tell that even though he drove irate people all day long usually, he still had pride in his job and service skills
