The worst guest service I have ever encountered in my life My family had just experienced an electrical fire in our home so we had to make a last minute reservation here My father, who booked the reservation, stayed behind to speak with the first responders and our now traumatized dog

We arrive to an extremely rude concierge refusing to allow us in, demanding that my father arrive to present ID After explaining our dire situation to them, we were met with shrugs and complete and utter disregard They did not offer any solution except for us to call corporate or have my father show up We were forced to look for somewhere else to stay- it’s pouring outside and late Beyond dissatisfactory- the staff clearly needs retraining I’ll never forget how they treated me and my family in a time of need A shame

So let’s start off this review with the front desk Some of them are friendly and a great help and some need training againNow lets go to breakfast

I really wish they had better breakfast The oatmeal is watery Coffee taste like it is old and they never wash the coffee machine The tables were dirty The dishes looked like they were ran through just hot water and no soap I was very disappointed with the breakfastNow let’s talk about the pool place There are towels everywhere As a guest you should pick up your towel and put it in the basket but for the guest who are to good for that the housekeeping will not bother picking them up I saw the same towel there for days! When you ask for towels for the pool they will give you the white towels There is this machine that is there and covered up you can see the rust on it and its grossThe pool itself is dirty They might clean the pool after weeks While i was swimming in the pool i looked down and there was a bunch of hair in thereThe water looked murkie That is how you know the pool is not clean The windows in the pool area are dirty Around the pool looks like no one cares to clean it You can see the smudges all over the windows It looks really bad! The hot tub has been out of order for a hot minute now Another annoying thing i came across is that they were swimming lessons going on I did not know that guest have to deal with swimming classes I think that is very unprofessional and very uncomfortableNow about the rooms They are a good size rooms it’s just that they smell dingy Thinking it is just me i wanted to give them the benefit of doubt Friday Housekeeping came and let me tell you how i was shocked with their cleaning They will not wipe the nightstands The headboard you can see marks on there as well I left some stuff there and when i came back it was still there The linen does not smell clean at all Nothing they put out smells clean or washed It has a very dingy smell The bathroom mirrors you can see the smudges and toothpaste marks The wall to the side of the mirror you can see toothpaste marks there as well The shower area the only thing they do in the tub is rinse it with water There was hair along side the walls on the toilet seat and if you looked close enough there was hair behind the bathroom door alongside the walls Now the kitchen They do not wipe down the counters at all The dishes in the dishwater are only run through water When we came back and went to use the dishes there was food marks still on there the glass and spoons had marks on them as well I then had to put dish detergent in the dishwasher and run it again The hallways smelly dingy as well It is like they never clean the carpets THE PRODUCTS THEY USE IF THEY USE ANY ARE CHEAP AND NASTY THEY NEED TO RETRAIN OR HIRE NEW CLEANING PEOPLE There are a few nice cleaning people but majority of them need to learn how to talk to guest and not make them feel uncomfortableThe guest who stay here regardless them being long term or short term pay money to stay here The management does not use good cleaning products or the right equipment to clean Cleaning also does not happen everyday day I think it is twice a week When you take money from us for staying there everyday you should have them clean the rooms everyday as wellI know Marriott is a very well know name I have stayed at many around the world I would say that the hotels in third world countries are way cleaner than the one here in Woodbridge NJ Would i recommend anyone to stay here no never Management really needs to step up their game in cleaning the place

The two women who checked me in for my stay were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful!!I did have an issue the second morning of my stay I was rudely awakened by a woman who seemed to be management knocking on my door I open the door to chat with this woman, and she explained that my card on file declined for the charges

Understandable that this is a concern for the property, however instead of taking a gentle, friendly approach – which should be used toward guests (especially who you just woke up) she decided to tell me that payment is due now and ‘normally in these situations police would be called in 30 minutes” TMI and offensive in my opinion As a titanium elite member, I really did not appreciate the insinuation that I could not afford to pay, or the approach this woman took with addressing the issue at hand I went straight to the front desk and completed my payment The issue was a simple lock that I had placed on my cardThe room I was in was very spacious and the layout was excellent However the furniture arrangement was arkward and uncomfortable, so I took it upon myself to rearrange the suite to a more comfortable layout (as shown in images) Several things were broken / not functioning properly, all of which were easy fixes that I personally addressed

My first stay at a Choice Hotelwill definitely try it again

My room was humongous compared to even 4 star hotels elsewhere Very cleanroom Well maintained amenities, including a refrigerator and microwave Shower controls were a little unusual but very responsive to my temp and flow needsLocation was walkable to a family-owned Italian takeout, which served a huge vegetable wrap with sauteed veggies and cheese, with a fresh salad for a reasonable price

The worst hotel I’ve been in, first of all the halls smell, the the room was dirty and the bed wasn’t made!Hair in the bathrooms, towels on the floor, stains on the sheets Facial hair on the sink People were checking out at 11:00pm (?????)The manager refunded my money as he should have but his response was that he didn’t know what condition the rooms were in because he works down in the office

REALLY? YOU SHOULD KNOW!!! I’ve been in two hotels in two states in the last four days, and never had a worst hotelexperienceI read the other reviews and I honestly see a disconnectI’m never staying here or recommending it toanyone else

Shamaur Jefferson

Well for starters, housekeeping needs to be fired From the carpet and walls being disgusting and covered in questionable stains to random strands of hair There was a sudden onion odor that overwhelmed our loft

We had a refrigerator but no microwave The flooring is horrible! The stairs are loud and in need of refurbishing And to top it off the air went out in the upper level of the loft (where we were expected to sleep) so with no other option because of the hotel being at capacity, I had to improvise and move the the bed (down stairs) to the lower portion of the loft to be able to get a good night’s rest before our flight the next morning Oh yea and once I moved the bed I discovered more questionable red stains and broken capsules with a beige powdery substance surrounding them I know my expectations may have been a little high being from the south and all but this was by far inexcusable

Average good hotel for the price You are not paying the high $$$, so can’t expect the moonBeds are a bit softer than at many other hotels we have stayed, but we slept well

Our room had a tv, fridge and a microwave oven Also a coffee machineThe floors could be cleaner It is actually dirtyThere is a small breakfast area Average breakfast Don’t be too late They bring out small amounts of eggs, sausages and potatoes, and you may not find much if your are not early But there is bread and cereal So you won’t be left hungry You can also make wafflesThere is a fitness room And a laundry roomStaff friendly and helpful

This was the worst hotel, I have ever experienced in my life and DON’T STAY EVEN IF YOU GET FREE OF CHARGEBooked total of 6 rooms for 3 nights to stay during Memorial Day Weekend with friends 3 of 6 rooms experienced terrible odor, from either mold or mildew

We vacated few rooms after 2 nights’ stayAs soon as we entered into the room there was that terrible odor and especially after opening of the door and also bathroom door Dirty bottom of tub with rough surface Very Nasty odor coming from the faucet during the water flow Stains on the AC/Heating unit Carpet is very old, looked dirty and as if it wasn’t washed or replaced in several years Not enough lighting roomCalled the front desk person and asked for change of rooms but he only changed 1 room and poured Clorox in the sink of another room to control odor I repeat do not stay in this hotel

Hotel was good but No humanity Breakfast manager was very goodFor group booking manager should take the name of the person who is going to stay in the room

If one forgets the key in the room he has to wait till the person who booked the room comes I offered my ID for records still did not consider My Grand babies were so tired Our stay was pleasant but policies poor

I ended up booking this place without checking the reviews and just looked at the grand gate/entrance photo on Google maps This place is very old from inside There is no air-conditioning here so you’ll have to keep the windows open which will make it very noisy with the traffic and loud neighborhood even late into the night

So you better have ear plugs We got a room on 6 floor The bed was nicely covered with clean white sheets and pillows no different than any other hotel Floors creak but that was ok You’ll hear sounds of faucet or flush or stomping/walking from other rooms Rooms did not smell of smoke, were clean The hotel locks doors at night and have security guard present at all times Parking is available but paid You can also park free overnight on the streets Our room blinds didn’t fully cover the entire vertical length of the windows The lamp on the side table didn’t work but the room light was bright enough Overall, ok enough for a quick/short night stay

The experience of staying at the Riviera Hotel was not very good The hotel leaves something to be desired in many ways, but a few things should be noted The reception is just plain ugly, the decor is in bad taste

The general appearance is of a half-abandoned house, with poorly maintained furniture The other common areas are also poorly maintained, including a bad smell The room, bathroom, bed and towels were clean, I have to admit However, if it weren’t for the late arrival time and the tiredness I felt, I would not have stayed at the Riviera I strongly recommend a renovation of the reception and hallways

Costomer Name

This was a NIGHTMARE of an experience for me I arrived at 2:00 am on April 2 2022 & it was NOTHING like what I expected 1st off, this isn’t a “hotel”

it is a homeless shelter!!!! There was an Extremely RUDE desk clerk, it was old, rustic, unclean & I was told it would be a non-smoker’s room! When I arrived, the hallway, elevator & the room already had cigarette smoke smell I disputed this with someone who chose to argue with me on the phone after expressing I’d like a Full Refund! I want my money back Already received my $50 security hold refund but I want my $89 back for being Deceived into thinking this was a reasonable hotel Don’t know why the African American guy who answered the phone argument with me Trying to figure out why are you mad? This is happening to ME, Not YOU! The Customer Is ALWAYS Right Retrain your staff on how to deal with Conflict Resolution Stop arguing with them Listen to learn & learn to LISTEN If you can not deal with the public then you should work somewhere else in a field where you work secluded & don’t have to hear customer’s issues I want a refund

Prime location – access to so many different shops and entertainment Nice rooms and affordable I enjoyed staying at this hotel but the biggest feature for me was the pool area

It is large and the seating area was very accommodating BUT the pool has not been open since the covid shut down So please be AWARE IF YOU ARE STAYING FOR THE POOL, IT HAS NOT BEEN OPEN! I have not stayed here because since then So my rating may be outdated at this point But I’ve always called for various occasions to book and see if the pool was available and it was never available So for those looking to book because it has a pool, you might as well skip past this hotel

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any place This web site will compare countless booking web sites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area

I’ve been staying here for a very long time If you choose this place you won’t be disappointedThis place was nice and clean Pets are allowed for a reasonable fee of $20 We found that other hotels charge much for for pets
