Just wanted to leave a review based on customer service I’m on my day off and doing uber eats deliveries for extra money The front desk clerk was so condescending it was laughable

He rolled his eyes and shook his head irritated when I explained I would need a signature to confirm the delivery of an Apple product He was rude, classless and embarrassingly unprofessional

Furnished well and nice bed Shower was average Room was clean and seemed remodeled within last 5 years

We had two rooms both missing different things They have 2 elevators that requires a key card to operate (no signs about needing a key card though), but one elevator is reserved for staff So if the “staff” elevator shows up first, after much frustration to figure it out, press the down button and hope the other elevator arrives before the “staff” one resets Funny thing was outside of the ground floor, any elevator would take you down Ridiculous I have never seen that before Also we could not take the steps, the doors to each floor is locked I could maybe understand that for security, but seems like a major safety hazard if there is a fire and the ground floor is blocked Also room was not ready until after 5pm on check-in

The hotel itself is new and looks nice, and it’s in a fantastic location right by Union Market, but there were a few issues The service from the employees felt like from an old/rundown hotel, not a nice new one The person working the front desk when we checked in was wearing sweats, which just seemed really out of place

The website said parking was an additional $25 per night, but when we checked in we were told it’s $35/night Our room reeked of weed when we walked in There’s a lot of construction around, which didn’t bother us, but might be a problem for some people The breakfast was decent and the lobby stays stocked with coffee, tea, and citrus infused water

I rented the entire Swann House for the wedding party and close family members for my daughter’s wedding and it was a simply great choice! I love old houses with great character and Swann House definitely offers that Each room is unique and the common areas are comfortable But what was most outstanding was the staff – Isabelle and Sasha in particular went so far beyond what I would have expected that by the end of out stay I felt like they were part of our family! Those who have commented on the condition of the house must not understand that an old house will never be perfect – it will always have its quirks and imperfections – that is what makes an old house unique and interesting

Our entire party of 22 people simply loved our stay at Swann House!

Mercy Harper

Loved our stay at this charming and unique spot! Innkeeper Sashi greeted us with “Welcome home!” and was so hospitable, accommodating, and full of great recommendations The Regent is a perfect room for a romantic getaway The price is actually quite reasonable for the location, amenities, and cool factor

As you will see in the other reviews, this place isn’t for everyone If you want everything in your life to be standard, safe, and as-expected, you might be happier elsewhere This place is for the artists, the romantics, the adventurers, the hippies, and the punks!

Quinelle Bethelmie

I wish I could give 0 starts My friends and I were very excited to stay at the Swann House My friends had come in from out of town and thought the place was very cute and I was excited to support a local business

However, on the day of my stay, they changed the room that I booked due to repairs, and none of the advertised amenities were available, and as I’ve tried to request a refund they’ve made various excuses about why I shouldn’t get one Had they been more amenable I would have considered giving it a second chance But, when we arrived the place was deserted, and it’s no wonder why their business is declining I was incredibly disappointed with the service, the lack of consideration, and the blatant disrespect to our agreement

Awesome Would definitely stay here again The room was very swanky and well taken care of

The guys at the front desk were great, as well as housekeeping and every one else behind the scenes Wanna give a shout out to Miles who works at the front desk, he was very charming and efficient, you could tell he took pride in his work We arrived maybe 30 minutes before check in and they were able to get us in our room in a timely manner The hotel was close to everything, we walked everywhere we wanted to go When we visit another major city AKA is present in we will definitely be staying with them Thank you

Donna Powell

My husband and I stayed at the AKA White House for more than three months We enjoyed our stay very much The staff were welcoming, courteous and helpful

Housekeeping kept our room exceptionally clean and the maintenance team were responsive when we had an issue We appreciated the personal touch when Ania the Sales Manager greeted us upon our arrival Ania went above and beyond when she provided us with a foam topper for our bed to help with my sore back The entire AKA team helped to make our stay in Washington, DC a memorable experience We will definitely look to AKA White House should we return to the area

John Brimmer

It was in an excellent location wiyy try h every thing in walking distance Miles provided excellent customer service from when we checked in to checkout He was very professional and courteous and always greeted us with a smile

The room was very spacious and felt like home The only negative comment I have was with the shower/tub being high to step over which made it difficult getting into

Decent hotel The lobby is really flashy, unfortunately the rooms are quite dated, and mine had a weird smell The shower had some mildew on the floor, and of course the room had an old carpet on the floor as most hotels do

At least the rooms were bigThe on site restaurant had a decent selection of food and beverages, I had the salmon for dinner and it was pretty good I also had breakfast in the restaurant and they did not have the buffet set up, I ordered parfait with granola and fruit and it was good! Main gripe was that they charged for coffee and juice, and quite a lot, so the whole ticket got quite expensive for a really simple breakfast The executive lounge was closed too which was a bit if a bummerOverall it was a decent stay, definitely stayed in worse hotels

Matt Winn

Our stay at the hotel was extremely disappointing On the first night, there was continuous noise until 1am Part of that noise was the hotel staff loudly opening and closing doors up and down our hallway and running a vacuum cleaner which they also carelessly slammed into the door/wall outside our room

When we asked the staff member with vacuum to stop, he refused Part of the noise was rowdy activity in the hallway, which the staff did nothing about despite multiple requests Even later in the week, young people were running around and yelling in the hallways because there is no atmosphere of civility or control by the staff It was very disruptiveOur stay was also disappointing because basic amenities were broken, unavailable, or held at cost For example, the convenient location next to the metro was spoiled because upon return, the door back into the hotel was locked and the card key access was not operational We asked to use a microwave and were told that it would be a $10 extra charge – really? At the price we were spending – which did not even include any room cleaning – it is insulting to me that you’d try to milk even more money out of us for something that could have been set up and finished in 5 minutesConsidering the hotel itself was responsible for these disappointing factors in our stay, I regret paying for the room and don’t think it will be a good idea to return, even though I plan to return to Rockville many times in the future

This is a conference hotel but it’s also perfect for business travelers Things I loved: super fast elevator, simple interior parking, Starbucks, great bartender and kind front desk people, good work space in the room (huge desk chair), fabulous pillows, every store you need within walking distance, close to DC, AND across the street from a metro stop and regular sized grocery store (Safeway!) My FAVORITE thing? It was So

Quiet!!! Slept great!

The Hampton Inn Laurel is a basic hotel The best things about it were: the location, the excellent staff, and the complimentary hot breakfast All the staff members were there to make your stay the best, and each took pride in the property they work at

The rooms are badly in need of renovation Our first room had a soft and old bed, but when we were moved to another room upon request, the bed was better In both rooms the bathroom sinks did not drain, although the showers were strong and decent The tiled floors need re-grouting The colors are dark and dingy, and the carpet had some stains The views were terrible, and the windows did not open for any air However, the A/C was sufficient There is no fan in the bathroom, which is a problem with steam when one showered I think that is a code violation We did ask for housekeeping during our 3 day stay and they did a good job The breakfast was very good and the coffee was delicious The lobby was nicely appointed and comfortable The pool looks nice, however it was not open when we were there I think that the staff goes above and beyond for their guests, but the sad appearance and condition of the rooms will lead me in a different direction when I book a stay in the greater Laurel area in the future

walter brzyski

Just OK, seems dated, had to pry my Gold Member bottle of water and snack from the front desk member She stated I only get water, but the sign shows Gold or Diamond is eligible, she then obliged Weird exchange

Walls are super thin, as you can hear the cell phone ring in the next room, the whole conversation, them using the bathroom(number 1) and then washing their hands Like having a roommate, but not seeing them, only hearing them I will check other properties outside of this area moving forward

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking a place They compare hundreds of hotel sites and normally will have prices much cheaper compared to others! You’re welcome :)! This resort is one of the best in the area

I have been coming here for a long time If you stay for a few days you for sure won’t regret itWent twice in one weekend A fun eclectic spot, suggest a reservation but not always required I had the corned Beef Hash and my husband had the Shrimp and Grits Fresh made donuts topped off a great brunch We cannot wait for our next visit to DC to stop by our favorite brunch spot 😍

Its a pretty unique place to stay at It more of home away from home Its like renting a room in a house

Everything is provided except There is no TV which you does not matter because you are not visiting DC to watch TV i hope Its a different experience if i had to describe the feeling i guess you could say it puts you in time when things were simpler and lived with just the things you need

Matasha MurrellJones

We had the worst experience here We were gifted a free night and meal at the restaurant from one of my favorite actresses and were excited based on the reviews Instead we could not get a good night’s rest

The person/people in the room next to us kept knocking on the door waking us up and claiming we had something called hooka? I have no idea what that is, it sounds illegal Then the night manager came to the room because the people next door were complaining and the night manager said he smelled nothing Really? Of course you did not smell anything, we don’t smoke! It was ridiculous They did refund our parking fee We were told that the manager would be in touch to discuss the issue, but that never happened It’s been a year now and nothing Apparently the people next to us were long term residents I don’t know why they never addressed our experience, but I cannot recommend a place that does not address issues such as people disturbing a family at night That is unacceptable The restaurant was wonderful and highly recommended So much for the DC experience

It’s currently housing as a shelter we all know I am currently homeless so this place is housing me until I can get placed with my voucher The shelter staff aren’t as snobbish as regular shelter staff, but they still have their own personal attitudes Overall this is a nice hotel really clean smells decent and it’s a nice size and location

Mariana Olivera

This hotel is very convenient in location, 20 minute drive away from the capital of Washington! However, I do not recommend walking around the area if you are not familiar with it Staff was helpful and friendly The complimentary breakfast consisted of fresh cut fruit, oatmeal, bread-based, etc always tasted great

Rooms were clean and the house keeping always provided us with fresh towels My only complaint was about one staff member, very nice guy, but he got too comfortable and approached my partner and I about “going to his house” and “checking out local strip clubs” Very unprofessional conversation

Matthew Schneider

Terrible No water in the gym No towels there

Machines covered in sweat Went to wash my hands in the first floor men’s room and the soap dispenser doesn’t work If you’re driving – forget it The access is impossible I only stay at Marriott properties and have a decent status, and this is the worst I’ve visited Stay away despite it being low cost Nice friendly staff but the place is literally dirty The surrounding area looks quite dangerous and despite location on what looks to be a park, I would not go running there

Let’s get the issues out of the way This place is old and provides very basic amenities The rooms are small and hard to clean, the window a/c is noisy, and the room floor and outside stairs are creaky

Every morning we would wake up to the strong smells wafting up from kitchen (we were on the second floor, mind you) Finally, the place is 8 minutes walk away from the nearest metro station, and pretty far from the main points of interest When you do it twice every day, it becomes a lotSo I would have given this place one or two stars, but The owner, Jack, is such an amazing host, that the entire experience was greatly improved He really makes you feel at home He also offers a nice breakfast buffet, as well as hot drinks 24 hours a day Everybody who stayed there was super nice and friendly When we left, Jack told us “This is your home”, which summed up the entire experience

Nicole Hellmuth

Booked this place at least a month ago Got an email confirmation 9/14/21 for my stay 10/5/21-10/6/21 When I arrived, the place looked slightly unkempt

The door was cracked open so I entered People’s personal items were all over the place and Room 101’s door was completely open (immediately to right of front door) I only entered to the office space, and felt uncomfortable, so I exited The front door shut and locked behind me I used the doorbell and got no answer I tried calling all available numbers Most were disconnected Hopefully I’m not charged for a stay

Me (in a pouty voice):“Dear Abba/Adonai/Allāh, will You please take me on vacation soon? I’m trying to tell people about you by doing as many good deeds as possible and it’s very hard, much harder than I imagined, so may I please have a break?”Soon after that prayer, my biological mother, Mother Teresa, gifted me with a 3-day/2-night stay here to be enjoyed with my Teddy Bear godmother, ShelleyIf you or someone you know needs a place to rest and heal, please be a patron If you need to accomplish some good deeds, I highly recommend you gifting a stay to someone who’s really struggling

I imagine that, similar to me, after the stay, they’ll finally be able to respond with “happy” when asked “How are you?”

Great local escape! An on site Inn Keeper who was attentive and helpful with ideas for us At first, I was a bit disappointed because I requested certain amenities initially, like parking because they said there was no record yet on the site I requested 2 spots and I had talked with someone by email who confirmed my reservation and who had asked me about anything else I needed I told them I only needed 1 space instead of 2 and I wanted to add something else but they never responded back

So when I got there I had no parking That worked out though because we were able to park on the street directly in front Kim, the Inn Keeper, rectified the mix ups with the other services I requested She was very attentive and checked in on us often but not too much I liked the Inspiration Room because it was bright and spacious with a beautiful DC feel to the old style homeThe bathroom is way to small though for tall people like me But the claw foot tub in the room was great to soak in! The bed slept so comfortably, I want one of those!Breakfast was good and simple but home cooked! Loved that! It was also a time to meet with others who were also staying there The happy hour was also a great time to connect with others and we had a great time! There was a cute journal in the room where other guests had written about their experiencessuch a sentimental touch It was so quiet and serene you guys, and listen, I’m going back as soon as I can

Joseph

Black-owned and historically significant for the inquiring mind The stay was fine and the customer service is solidI will add that if you’re looking for a rich experience, this can offer something close to that

Simply put: In this place, humans treat humans like humans

Overall my stay was enjoyable The College Park Holiday Inn was located in a great area not to far off I-95 Ext

on Ikea Way and yes it shares a parking lot with Ikea The hotel has a Bar and Restaurant both reasonably priced Their breakfast buffet is very fulfilling and kids eat free That was a plus! Although I didn’t get a opportunity to use the pool, they did have a indoor pool in Tower One The staff were all very friendly My room was clean as well I definitely recommend this as a place to stay when visiting the area

Kala Twigg

Front desk staff were kind & tried to help as much as they could But this hotel is disgusting Not clean

Whole first tower smells like water damage My lungs & throat have been killing me Was contemplating staying extra days Definitely not now Moved rooms because the first definitely smelled of animals Children were complaining of that And water damage The elevators smell like urination And there is dust & dirt in every crevice Not to mention a very strange encounter at “free breakfast” which we wound up paying for I will be beyond grateful to be HOME (We originally wanted to stay at Hilton… it was having some Reno issues so they suggested we shop nearby, sad this is where we chose) Id venture to say the water/sprinkler system went off multiple times at some points in the past The carpets reek of water/mildew Convenient to the highway But … save your money people Drive elsewhere

Dan Royea

I really enjoyed my stay here Staff was very friendly and helpful Hotel was very clean no matter what area I was in, either my room, at the pool and in the elevator

I really enjoyed the color changing water wall (be sure to check it out) And this is the first hotel I’ve been to that has a doorbell for every room How cool is that? Plus the ring around the button changes red for do not disturb (also shuts off doorbell function) and green if you want your room cleaned Nice indoor pool Also has a nice restaurant/bar Outside was just as clean as the inside was It’s 30 minutes from the White House and 20 minutes away from the airport I highly recommend staying here if your in the area
