Our stay at the Cannery Pier Hotel was awesome and the staff was exceptional! The pilot house was beautiful, comfortable & clean as was the lobby and other common areas The bridge and huge ships passing by made this hotel and its views spectacular & unique It was fun to learn the rich history of the hotel & Astoria from the hotel photo gallery

We enjoyed the many things the hotel offers – a ride in the Rolls-Royce w/Jeff, social hour, fresh cookies, a bike ride, spa & sauna, and above all the personable & helpful staff Thank you again to Janis & your team for making our stay amazing!!

Don Guddat

Loved it Absolutely loved it We visited 4th of July weekend, I booked my room through a 3rd party booking service

This was the first time in recent memory the third party booking was not used as an excuse to treat me somewhat poorly The service was excellent, the cookies delicious, the breakfast palatable, but the wine I’d choose something else next time Beautiful room, great view, close parking, smells clean and fresh when you walk in the door, wonderful views in the lower lobby area and the history gallery upstairs was fun to experience didn’t use the courtesy car nor the bikes this visit, but next time we will Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The pluses 1st Nice location, comfortable bed and room Walking distance to very friendly and good restaurants and shops

Highly recommend Astoria Brewing – great staff, drinks and food and also Street 14 Cafe!!Negatives -Upon check they asked if we wanted a complimentary beverage Nice touch but we declined As she started checking us in, another couple came in behind and she asked them the same ?, they accepted She stopped checking us in, went to the bar to get their drinks We had to stand there and wait after a very long day I am a travel agent and have worked at many fine hotels, take care of the customer in front of you firstWe went out for a nice walk and dinner, and picked up a cup of ice cream to enjoy When we sat at the hotels outside patio area to enjoy and take in the water view we were told we had to eat our ice cream in our room We paid $400 a night and we could not sit outside and enjoy a cup of ice cream ?If you like specialty cocktails, they do not have a full bar It could have been a very nice experience yet fell so very short from our expectations

Dan Falkner

This place is such a great hotel in Astoria The rooms are really comfortable and the beds are outstanding Excellent service and the bar has a wonderful drink selection

The in-room fireplace makes for a cozy atmosphere and the tall ceilings make the rooms feel extra spaciousThe sea lions are loud, but I didn’t hear them when sleeping The white noise machine the offer works wellNice TV mounted

Karlee DeLatte

Not a single complaint about our stay!Service was exceptional We were greeted with champagne and the kids got izzie drinks which made their day after a long drive Desserts were amazing, highly recommend the poached apples and caramel

There was live music right outside on a Thursday night and the rooms were perfect Location was great! You can walk to anythingWe will definitely be back next time we visit Astoria

I went to Astoria for my first time and wanted to stay somewhere special But more importantly I wanted privacy and that meant to not be in a hotel or motel where I would be sharing walls with other people So I picked this place from their AirBnB ad which states that you will have the entire top floor of an old cannery to yourself

This was not the case In fact, there were at least three other rooms and the room I had reserved, which was advertised as being large enough for four people, was just like any mid-range hotel room and did not have the charm or the privacy I was expecting Also, there was a coffee pot in the room but when I wanted to make coffee, there were two bags of decaf So, I felt like that was their way of forcing me to go buy coffee downstairs which was insanely overpriced I would save my money next time and stay at the hotel that is just across the pier!

Ron Micjan

We have stayed at the Pier 39 fisherman’s suites several times in the past years The Captains Suite is the nicest room in all of Astoria, kid you not It’s like a penthouse suite

Views are stunning with the west facing wall aimed at the sunset The Bunkhouse is great for families or groups We stayed for a month there in December of 2015 while our boat was being worked on at tongue point shipyard WiFi available Find reservations at airbnb to book your stay

Cant be beat for the location and price It’s a perfect little spot for a long weekend Be prepared for a bit of rustic charm (it’s not a Marriott by the sea)

Food was excellent Service was great Bed was comfy Things can get a little loud but again ( It’s not a Hilton on the ocean) Love the charm and over all feeling of the place The pool and sauna were awesome and it’s adults only after 9:00PM Not to be mistaken for a Four Seasons on the beach Will return for sure, maybe later this spring or summer

Noel O’Donnell

Adrift is a great local hotel right on the beach, and super dog friendly! The staff is always friendly and you can tell they take pride in their business We have stayed here 4 times and always are satisfied with our experience They offer all the amenities we want out of a hotel, and at reasonable prices (especially in the winter)

It feels good supporting this local business!

Megan Garrett

I normally love Adrift but this time it missed the mark We paid nearly $500 for a king room with an ocean view (aka room overlooking the parking lot with the ocean in the background) and a shower/tub that was nothing I’d want to take a bath in They also put us in their east building which I’d never been in before and hope I won’t have to again

It was just an old motel with a coat of paint and some industrial decor Terribly placed bathroom, and silverfish Also zero soundproofing of roomsPickled fish: Forgot my ketchup for my room service breakfast We ate at the pickled fish for my birthday dinner, and we got our drinks long after our oysters (which had too many shell remnants), right before our entree Service was minimal Basically, “what do you want, ok, here, is it good, bye”Just a big letdown I was really looking forward to this trip We drove 5 hours and were excited We normally love this place but for the price we paid I felt kind of ripped off, and it seems like overall it just sucks now

Great hotel! The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and the king bed was comfy The room also had a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker We didn’t mind that the hotel was just a little out of main Astoria

The views from the hotel cannot be beat! Our room had a balcony with a sliding door We had such a great experience and will be back!

Michele Schumann

Ok so the room layout is the only drawback The toilet is quite literally next to the entry door But overlook that because the location and view and the great staff

Very good breakfast (the gal working the breakfast was a go getter and very friendly), hot tub and comfy bed Chairs outside the sliding doors to just watch the boats pass by Or just watch them as you sit in bed! No creepy carpet! Our very favorite in Astoria Recommend 100%

Sharon Winkler

This motel is basic But the view is amazing, and the staff are friendly and responsive Everything is spotless and in good working order

You can tell that the staff care about their guests having a good experience The bed was too soft and too small for my liking But the room has a fridge, a coffee maker, and a balcony And there is an ample and complimentary continental breakfast served each day There is free WiFi and a hot tubThere is no air conditioning, however The motel is about a five minute drive from town where there is ample parking

I never write reviews, but felt I should for this one The bathroom has mildew & mold Dirty walls throughout the room

Old mattresses and can hear everything through the walls and upstairsYou can tell this place made it “vintage” years ago never to update, clean, repaintThe breakfast is awful Packets of oatmeal and a bowl of fruitThis place could be cool if they clean it up and provide a decent breakfast Doesn’t have to be fancyThe staff was the only good part They were very nice and welcomed usI feel like places in Astoria think they can charge whatever they want, regardless of what the motel is like

Steven Hall

Outstanding place to stay in Astoria! Staff is over the top awesome and the theme is great!Pros:-Really amazing staff! Not just helpful but go out of their way to make your experience great!-really cool rooms-fridge and microwave in room-diner next door-price was goodCons (honestly if they made even just one of these changes it would be over the top)-keypad lock (for some people this actually might be a pro-There is a small amount of noise from exterior sources-our room had a bathroom door that stuck when closing Minor, but details I noticeOverall happy with our stay and would likely return

Amber C

Room was very clean, and smelled clean!!5 stars for customer service, mostlyI was given a text on how to enter after hours Brilliant! The room was themed 50s style whit was neat, actually I enjoyed the creativity!!The downside was the very noisy 101 right in front given from having to open the windows at night since the room did not have any AC and I stayed on a very warm night

They did provide a box fan to help out with the heat, thoughOtherwise everything was great!!We did not have breakfast at the hotel since Pig ‘N Pancake was next door, but I can imagine that it was delicious!

Still reveling weeks later from a wonderful stay both at the Norblad and at the Norblad/Astor across the street We have stayed before and new exactly was to expect, clean crisp rooms, amazing sheets, comfy beds and a fun vibe overall The swing chair is everything

Our last night we stayed in the Owner’s Suite in the Astor and were in LOVE! Amazing view and beautifully decorated space No TV and a queen bed were the only aspects we’d change but really didn’t dampen the overall experience at all 100/10 recommend!

hillary hoffman

Loved our stay at here My partner and I had a suite, with a private bathroom The staff was laid back, and friendly

The room was simple, cute and super clean Great location and very walkable They let you check out a record player and have a fun selection of vinyl in the lobby Good coffee station too We will definitely be back next time we are in Astoria

Windy-Ayres Wray

Husband and I usually stay at the Hotel Elliot when we visit Astoria, but they raised their rates for the Valentine’s Day holiday So, we tried the Norblad (based on reviews, location, and images) We got the suite, so we could have our own bathroom/shower

This place was amazing! Pros: price, cleanliness, location (in the heart of it all but NOT on a busy street) Cons: be aware that there is SOME noise, but earplugs are provided Also, bring a deck of cards, a board game, or a laptop because there are no TVs in the rooms If we weren’t in the middle of a pandemic, we would have spent our time in a bar or late-night restaurant until bedtime Instead, we enjoyed walking at night to listen to the sea lions, grabbed some delicious pizza from Fort George Brewery + Public House, and played Travel Scrabble in our room Great hotel will DEFINITELY visit again

No Near The Pier, you RE-BOOOKED the room You are not out any money! No availability the night I was to stay I am warning people that your “boutique” hotel does not refund money if you cancel THIRTEEN days before arrival AND rebook the room! I don’t care what your policy is

YOU ARE GREEDY I booked on line and you spent a total of 5 minutes on meAnd you’re PROUD you don’t give money back 30 DAYS before arrival?? With Covid, pilot shortages, the economy??? Wowwwwww

Gail Jackson

I loved the room! It was perfect I loved the large window with a view of Astoria and the River I saw 5 rainbows in one day! All details were explained with little notes that were posted

My bed was comfy If it was chilly, there were heater to keep me warm! The little sitting area was nice for watching a bit of TV The bathroom was nice and large with a claw tub and a shower There is a small fridge and microwave If I needed something, Candy responded right away I could walk the 2 blocks to downtownMy room was on the top floor I will stay there again

Connie Shea

I travelled to Astoria with my mum and toddler We stayed in the 2 bed queen suite The room was so nice

The bed was incredibly comfortable They were able to provide a high chair for my toddler at breakfast Breakfast is basic enough but kept us goingThe rooftop terrace has wonderful views

Leumis Richardson

A lovely lovely and very comfortable grand old hotel Completely remodeled but keeps it’s early 20th century charm Beautifully done

The rooftop deck is a nice touch Great staff And one of the best complimentary breakfasts I have had at a hotel in -decades- While there are no amenities like a pool, room service, or a concierge, everything it tries to provide as a quality hotel it does superbly

Erin Hermansen

Absolutely incredible stay at Hotel Elliot Astoria! I quite literally went in off the street as I was looking to stay in Astoria for another night and they had plenty of rooms open The staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating and my room was so cozy I love historic hotels and this place was so cute

Bonus – there’s a 6th floor rooftop terrace you can bring food/drinks up to and see a 360 view of Astoria and watch the ships come in! The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable HIGHLY recommend staying here if you’re visiting!

Something is amiss here I made a reservation for two nights in advance of a trip to Astoria, and I was really looking forward to staying at Clementine’s When I failed to receive an email confirmation of my reservation, I emailed to make sure it was received

No response I called and got a voice mail message saying that the easiest way to reach them was by email I left a voice mail message and emailed again No response Over the course of the next two weeks, I called multiple times and no one ever answered the phone I left multiple voice mail messages and sent multiple emails No response Eventually, not wanting to arrive in Astoria with no place to stay, I sent an email cancelling and requesting a refund Someone did credit my credit card, but did not respond to the emailed cancellation On the morning I would have checked in had I not cancelled I received a text message (presumably automated) containing self check in instructions While in Astoria, I stopped by Clementine’s The place seemed deserted The yard/garden were overgrown, and there was a “For Sale’ sign out front My assumption is that Clementine’s is no longer operating

Cheryl Wright

This is a lovely hotel with excellent customer service, the breakfast is great, bed very comfortable, like home from homeBedroom and bathroom extremely beautiful, the rain shower, wow! Room 15!! only hiccup is that there was a slight lip between the bedroom and bathroom which is not highlighted and could cause an accidentAll in all a fab stay

Would definitely recommend, in fact we already have!

Jess

I loved staying here Astoria is already a very spooky, vintage town, and I was so excited to stay the night This place matches the vibe of the town perfectly! It’s a beautiful location, and the vintage decor is very well kept up

I loved my room and my breakfast was amazing Yvone was very accommodating during the whole process I highly recommend staying here, I hope to come back!

Came to visit Astoria and found this cute bed and breakfast Teresa the host was super friendly and the room was very clean Bed was nice medium and was quiet throughout

The home was decorated with some nice antiques that made it fun Location is great, walkable to downtown and ample street parking Delicious breakfast was provided as well Will stay here again for future Astoria visits

Kyley Shelton

This B&B was my first one ever and I have to say it was fabulous My partner and I stayed two nights for our first wedding anniversary, it was great We stayed in the column room where, as you may imagine, you can see the famous column

It was very beautiful to see the column lit up at night changing colors The room also has a claw foot tube which I have always wanted to use so it was nice to sit in a bathtub that covered most of me The house was in a great location overlooking the Columbia River and the bridge that takes you to Washington We spent some time on the back porch watching the cars go by as the sun set and just having a lovely time If you stay at this B&B definitely check out the roost (aka back porch) and enjoy the lovely breakfast that Teresa makes

Karen Pastore

Theresa was a fantastic host Location was excellent The b and b is appropriately and beautifully decorated

We stayed in the room with the balcony and I could have sat and looked at the water all day! She has a quaint coffee/tea area set up which was awesome because you can go in any time Delicious breakfast We really enjoyed Astoria, could have stayed longer but had to keep going! Would come back here for sure

I reserved the room on the recommendation of a friend and I really was not disappointed The bed was super comfortable and we actually over slept because of how dark the blackout curtains were The pool and hot tub were clean and stocked with towels

The breakfast is the whole reason to stay though Typical hotel breakfast add pancakes and all the accoutrements Great! The staff is amazingly friendly and the location includes a great view of the river with great local taverns within walking distance

Anneke Brown

IHG Hotels is the best set of chain hotels on the Oregon Coast! They have been remodeling all their hotels during the pandemic So, the beds are soft and supportive The interiors are fresh and clean

This one is my favorite for a reading retreat It has a perfect reading chair and fireplace in the room! The lobby has that beautiful dark, oiled wood It is warm and cozy from the first step inside Enjoy!

Mat Millenbach

Read the fine print! My wife and I recently planned a trip to Astoria with some friends so about a week in advance I made a reservation at this HIE A few days later, we changed our plans so I cancelled our reservation because we decided to stay elsewhere I received an acknowledgement that my reservation was cancelled and didn’t think about it any more until a charge for the room showed up in my credit card account about three days before our trip

I called the hotel and talked to their representative who explained that the reservation I had made was a non-refundable prepaid reservation but that she would request that a refund be made A week went by with no refund so I called back and she told me the same thing Another month has passed and still no refundNow, I understand that it’s my fault that I didn’t read the original reservation closely and didn’t realize I was making a non-refundable prepaid reservation but you’d think a place like this would have a little flexibility in their policies I generally like these hotels because they’re convenient, usually OK, not complicated to deal with, and they are plenty of them around But, in this case, there’s a nice Hampton Inn just down the street as well a couple of other chain hotels nearbyI can’t tell you much about the Holiday Inn Express itself; it looks OK from the outside If you do decide to stay here, I’d be careful about what you’re signing up for Personally, I plan to stay someplace other than an IHG hotel next time I go somewhere

Truly a wonderful stay! The historical nature of the B&B was way more interesting than we expected Breakfast was great – and it was fun chatting with the owners and the other guests It’s a very quick bike ride to downtown along the path, or a moderate walk

We enjoyed taking afternoon and evening breaks in the parlor, which is furnished with era-appropriate sofas and chairs Thank you Emma & Lorin for being such kind, accommodating, and generous hosts!

It’s all about the Benji! My wife and I stayed for a few nights here and had a great time The hosts are incredibly nice and do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible The stuffed French Toast was better than I’ve had at any restaurant and the eggs Benedict was amazing! They even worked around a gluten allergy without issue

They gave us lots of information about the town and where to go for hiking, biking, food & drinks Our room at the Inn was very comfortable and spacious We slept great, the shower was always hot, and the views from nearly every window in the house are beautiful Highly recommend

We stayed here for our anniversary I chose it because I love old houses and the decor is magnificent The hostess is very kind and fun to talk to

The bed in The Honeymoon suite is just right The radiator heater in this room is no joke! We stayed here in February so we very much appreciated the heater The view from this run is AMAZING! But Sea Lions are loud! On the plus side, if you don’t have the gear to manage noise, they provide ear plugs and a fan in this room for white noise As a result, we slept great! There’s delicious tea everywhere you turn! The breakfasts are yummy! And there’s an old VHS copy of The Goonies, so you can watch the movie after you see all the movie sites!

Great location and place to stay overall during a recent family trip Loved the view of the bridge and how the rooms overlook a local marina Place was well maintained, clean and quiet with comfortable beds

It is a little unassuming from the parking lot, the rooms more than make up for the ‘motel vibe’ Would definitely stay here again!

Amin Sameni

Our experience was really better than what we expectedGreat waterfront location All rooms have water and bridge view

Rooms are spacious and cleanPeople were nice and breakfast was really decentDownsides: we didn’t get housekeeping service and TV was not working probablyOverall, it’s definitely worth the money

Mn Mike

Comfortable room overlooking the marina and out onto the Columbia River Can see the hotel & spa that charges twice the price that doesn’t have any better view Nicely done complimentary breakfast with a very attentive staff member

Not a glitzy glamour place but certainly well above average A nice relaxing place For downtown you have to drive It’d be a longer bike ride or walk Never did look into the town trolley which had a stop shelter nearby Never did notice a trolley either! I’d stay here again

Had a great experience during our stay This place is close to everything There’s a walking path right outside with 6 miles of track

Pier 39 is a step away and had cool stuff to offerRoom had a lot of windows and views plenty of space and comfortable furniture Appreciate the breakfast served daily

Jennifer Sexton

Very very clean, great location to walk some of the riverfront walk Got to hear and see the sea lions Breakfast had waffles, oatmeal, eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, cold cereal, yogurt, pastries, bagels, English muffins

Fresh fruit So much to choose from The front desk employees were so nice and gave great tips and a map of the area The views from the breakfast area was amazing to see the freighters parked out on the Columbia River If we’re ever blessed to be in Astoria again would definitely be staying the night at Hampton Inn!

Daniel Torres

Great location, great service, great price! Astoria is a top tourist destination and you expect to pay more, but Hampton Inn keeps price reasonable considering vacation/destination location Try and get room facing river for a truly memorable experience, but even rooms facing road have nice views DJ, front desk guest receptionist, will ensure you have the best experience possible

If anything needs attention she makes certain it is taken care of immediately She also knows the best places to eat While staying, be certain to go to Pier 39 and eat at Rogue Ale Public House It is an easy walk from the hotel and a relaxing, friendly place to relax after a long day of driving or touring

I cannot say enough about this hotel The room was clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed The staff were all so friendly and gave us lots of wonderful recommendations on how to spend our time here in Astoria and areas close by

Breakfast was outstanding and had many great options Our floor was on the fourth floor and we loved our view of the river facing the west We could watch the storms roll in, and saw several rainbows and sunsets The pool area was very nice and hot tub and sauna were big and hot just the way we like it We will definitely stay here again

Best Western Astoria:Great views as this hard to find hotel sits off the beaten path near the water but at $450/night is not worth it as the Cons outweighs the Pros:1 Not in downtown Astoria Nothing around within walking distance

2 Very dated motel (not hotel) Vending machines don’t even accept credit cards3 Poor shower water pressure Older in room furniture4 Pool & Jacuzzi are basic, nothing spectacularPros:1 Included hot breakfast comes with waffles, sausage, bacon, juices, bagels2 Customer service is excellent, very friendly staff, professional, engaging in conversation My guess is they are stunned customers are paying that much to stay there & feel guilty for gouging3 Free spacious outdoor parking lot4 Walking path along the water5 Very dog friendly Staff had treats, conveniently located & clean relieve area for pets6 Complimentary in-room WiFi was stable & fastAll the bars, restaurants, cool shops, sights are in town This out of the way motel is not worth the money you will spend just for a water view You won’t get the Astoria experience
