Pleasant enough staff Relatively good breakfast 6 night stay

No, zero, room cleaning, house keeping service due to Covid19 shortages Now I would understand this no house keeping shortage if they discounted the room additionally or were sincerely contrite about it, but I don’t think a hotel should be able to charge full price and offer no cleaning service

Some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in years I work in the hospitality business and hold customer service to very high standards The front desk staff named Sarah was exceptional

While eating breakfast I witnessed her greeting nearly every passing guest and some of them by name She freely gave out travel tips with enthusiasm and an insider’s knowledge She set the standard

From the moment my family and I arrived, we knew this was going to be an enjoyable stay The staff are friendly, professional, and take pride in their work This is immediately apparent by the way the staff interact with their guests, as well as the excellent condition of the facility and amenities

I’ve travelled extensively in my 20 years of service to our country, and I can say without hesitation this was the best stay I’ve ever had Thank you Sarah, Collin, Hunter, Jaimie, Sheri, Linda, and the rest of the staff for making this possible

Leah Sears

The Bangor Hampton was clean, the staff was friendly, and our room was large enough to comfortably fit our family of 5 with a pack and play We enjoyed the pool and hot breakfastMy biggest concern, and reason for the low rating, is due to the water in the room

Our children took a bath in brown water I drained the tub and filled it a second time, but it did not make a difference Even the water in the toilet was brown I called the front desk to see if they were aware and I was told that they were not the water should be clear, and that it would be reported A couple of hours later I went to the Suite Shop to purchase bottled water so that I could make my infant daughter a bottle… the young man who checked me in recognized me and asked if the water was better I told him that it was still brown and he explained that the hotel is at the end of the water line on the street so that must be causing it I bought 3 bottles of water and went back to the the room We did not bathe the next morning and brought in hand sanitizer from our car instead of washing in the sink

Thomas Kluck

I’ve read other reviews here of brown water, not enough hot water, rooms not being clean Well, I usually stay at Hilton Garden Inns but decided to try a Hampton Inn It costs less but I found out is not less of a hotel

The young man at the front desk was professional and courteous My room was 104, cleaned, disinfected, plenty of hot clear water, plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner The a/c worked just fine The TV was a good size The linens smelled clean and fresh I slept well and felt rested when i woke up The locks on the door worked Either no one was in the rooms next to me or the walls are not as thin as others say The parking lot is well lit The young lady at check out greeted me with a smile and asked how was my stay She too was professional and courteous She printed out my receipt and thanked me for staying at the Hampton Inn Frankly it was nice to see two young people not only willing to work but seem to enjoy their work I just cannot remember their names I was in the area for a job interview and I got the job

Not government/military friendly Don’t bother asking or clicking the government/military rate when searching for availability since they no longer offer it Their sister hotel (Courtyard Marriott) next door does so they feel justified in gouging the government/military families

The Courtyard Marriott next door doesn’t allow pets but the Towne Place Suites does, so now any government/military families traveling with pets are out of luck I will be taking my business to Hilton

Chris Pine

This is a pretty nice hotel with decent prices, especially for the area The common areas are clean and look accommodating/professional, and the rooms are well kept and modern They also try their best to accommodate you, especially when there’s noise issues

(We had a few people decide to act like this was their favorite concert venue) Overall, the rooms are a decent size and perfect for extended stays, and the staff are professional and pleasant The pool was also a nice bonus, and seems to be kept clean They also allow pets, which was very helpful!

Jason Zhang

It certainly doesn’t have the most lavish rooms you could get but they sure were very clean! I also absolutely enjoyed the conversations with the front desk staffs The hotel staffs were very friendly!!!My girlfriend and I asked for local good rec, and we received a long list of recommended restaurants with highlighted places to visit I was happy to stay at this location but it was a long commute to Acadia, as well as Bar Harbor; we booked the hotel accommodations quite late so options were very limited

First off, I want clear up some of the negative reviews on here, while there is a homeless camp near by, it is not in view of the hotel And, it is not trashy- it actually looks like a sparsely populated campground The rooms appear newly renovated and were immaculate

The A/C works great and kept us cool and comfortable The kitchenette was spotless, we did not need to use it but it would be nice for a longer stay The grounds are well kept and there are beautiful pots of flowers upon entering This a dog friendly hotel and the grounds and neighborhood are just perfect for dog walking, and the front desk lady has treats for your fur baby We felt safe there in a quiet part of Bangor, there was also a security guard on duty Honestly I had the best night of sleep I’ve had in a very long time Now keep in mind, this is a small mom and pop establishment, so if you need the amenities of a big corporate hotel- this is not the place for you If you like to support small, local businesses, this is the place We will definitely be returning, thank you!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️THE BEST STAY EVER! Great location, easy to get in and out of the city Super close to the Airport and bus stop The environment was super friendly and welcoming

Both check-in and check-out were professionally handled and easy Todd, the manager is always willing to address any questions/issues you may have to make you feel like at home and happy Plus! They are dog 🐩 people and our dog Albert definitely had fun up there with all the attention and treatsIn general all the staff was wonderful The hotel is very well maintained The beds were very firm, they have kitchen, fridge, microwave available in the suites and Laundry in the hallway They even allowed us to bring our own bed (Health reasons) and help with accommodating itThank you all for such a wonderful stay! We surely will come back in the near future ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Terrible service I’m glad I didn’t get the chance to stay here because the location is actually quite intimidating with a group of homeless people on the road up If you go the other way you do get to avoid that but who’s to say what direction you’re coming from

Booked a room from here through another site and that site emailed my associate and I with a reservation confirmation saying it was still ready and booked We show up around 4pm and they already gave the room away without a care and marked it as a no-show The best thing the staff did was recommend another hotel to go to I do believe the reviews are only as good as they are because they reply with rude comments after your review isn’t what they want to hear so people are reluctant to say anything Not a desirable place from any angle I can’t say anything nice about this place but take it how you will

The location is great, the rooms are great, the customer service is excellent, and the pool and hot tub are awesome There is even a outdoor patio by the pool area which was nice to sit in My only complaints are with the TV in the room, it stopped working multiple times

First time it stopped working we had staff come to fix it, second time we got lucky and fixed it ourselves The breakfast was alright, basically mediocre But we will definitely return here in the future We are very pleased with this hotel

Keegan Gruh’A

Stay here multiple times Rooms are always very clean This last stay was appreciated and accommodating as always

But the updated room that I stayed in recently were well done The staff was very helpful This hotel is honestly one of the cleanest in Bangor I appreciate the comfortable stay as always Thank you for all gracious hospitality Look forward to staying again

After years of COVID it feels good to be out and about This Fairfield is right next to the airport almost at the end of the runway There are some cool military planes that fly close by

My stay was pleasant The bed was comfortable and the front desk staff were friendly The shower worked well and parking is free This was a good deal overall

Antique shop is one of a kind! They have a beautiful selection of furniture pieces that you just don’t find anymore The lighting is fairly priced and a joy to admire I personally had 2 antique lights repaired and updated here and I could not be more pleased! Both lights were missing critical pieces and some how he made other salvaged pieces fit

Thank you again, we will be back!

Sleepy Daimyo

Amazing! I just love that you can come late and let yourself in if you need, without bothering the staff (I always feel guilty coming late, especially to a B&B, but you can’t control traffic!) I LOVE all the antique stuff decorating the rooms I’m in love with the vintage embroidered bedding too! I’m thankful for the window AC which honestly works better than most big chain hotels! (Seriously they never get cold enough imho!) There’s a pizza place and a tea shop across the road and a gas station down the street so it’s a very convenient location that was easy to find! They provided a selection of drinks in the shared fridge for the night too! Breakfast was amazing as the hosts cooked us cinnamon French toast! They also had a selection of other items out that you could grab! I’ve included photos! We stayed in the Blueberry room!Oh I almost forgot! My SO had an emergency at almost 10pm and had to call Ann to request tape to MacGyver his medical device until we could buy a replacement part tomorrow and she came in clutch! She didn’t have to go look at almost 10pm but she did and it made a world of difference!! Thank you!!

This hotel was amazing from the moment we made the reservation Friendly, courteous staff Very helpful on check-in

Offers an incredible hot breakfast included with your stayWe were here during the winter and the driveway was promptly plowed and the entrances cleared and saltedWe will definitely stay here again

Darren MacRae

My room here was awful

The bed was ‘itchy’ and sagged in the middle There were jelly beans and other food crumbs under the bed and table The toilet seat was discoloured and covered in scratches The walls were faded and worn There was an ice machine in the corridor which roared with noise all night All in all this was the worst room I slept in in the whole of MaineThe service was okay, the lady at the desk was very ‘straight to the point’ but friendly enoughBreakfast saved the day – The ladys at breakfast were very friendly and the food was wonderful and there was so much to choose from! All in all, the price was low but not low enough to reflect the lack of cleanliness This hotel needs to do better so other customers have a more comfortable stay

Dawn Christian-Rensema

What a great stay! The staff was the best, yet The room was clean and comfy, the parking was very convenient, too The front desk was the best ever

He was helpful, friendly, funny and just so easy to deal with He really made my stay a great one Phaenius, the front desk attendant was working a double shift, yet you’d think he was fresh and just starting his day I’ll be staying hete again! The was the most comfortable and relaxing stay I’ve had in Bangor

If you want a nice romantic getaway in a wonderful old inn this is the place for you The views are fantastic, and the inn just feels so cozy I loved the working gas fireplace in our room! And it was nice to have a continental breakfast even though it wasn’t a kitchen cooked breakfast, it was the kind you pop in the microwave

I would highly recommend this place

Miranda Monk

I do not have enough positive things about this venue The entire wedding process from start to finish was phenomenal The owners of the Inn are as accommodating as possible and were so sweet to work with on the day of the event

Chelsey, the wedding coordinator for the Inn is as fabulous as it gets She is prompt, professional and has a calming presence which helps many brides We had a unexpected thunderstorm come through 15 min before our ceremony and the whole staff worked with us just to push everything back 30 min to allow us to have the outdoor ceremony of our dreams We were so incredibly impressed with their flexibility and accommodations Our guests raved about the food, the quality of the staff and the gorgeous views this venue offers The whole weekend was flawless from start to finish Would get married here 10x over

Uncle Jed

The opportunity to stay at The Lucerne is one I seldom pass up on The view out over Phillips Lake is amazing, watching hawks and eagles soar in the wind has such a calming effect Sipping a cup of coffee and watching the night slide away as the sun grips more of the landscape is breathtaking

The only mild detractor was the sound of traffic so close by, easily tolerable but noticeableThe staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and kind Everyone will have different requirements for the amount of involvement they expect but the staff seemed to strike a reasonable balance between too much or too little attentionThe food was amazing, full of flavor, and surrounded by a diverse menu that highlighted the local cuisine but also incorporated an aire of high class dining Though a touch more expensive than my usual taste it seemed reasonable for what was presented in both quality and quantity

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights and I only have good things to say! The rooms are spacious and VERY clean Working for a janitorial company my expectations are VERY HIGH and I didn’t find anything to complain about The owners are fantastic and super accommodating, always making sure we had everything we needed

They even got fresh fruits for the group that stayed with us! Loved having the little balcony overlooking the river and having everything we needed in the kitchenette And like if all that wasn’t enough, my son forgot his chain in the room next to us where his friend was staying so we called them to see if they could send it to us and they did, with a very kind note included! I would highly recommend AND stay here again if I travel to that area

Erin Stevens

NOT PET FRIENDLY – Although all the OTA sites list that they are pet friendly there are several restrictions Their website says nothing but the OTA sites list that they allow dogs, 1 per room up to 40lbs This is incorrect

They require knowing what type of dog and will make judgement on that They do not allow Labrador Retrievers “because they shed too much”

Lauralei Knight

This place was near where we were vacationing and it had 45 stars so we tried it From the outside we felt we had made a big mistake

It is VERY old motel looking No one else was there but us The stairs to the upstairs room were very narrow and steep and covered in very bad carpet But once we got to our door and opened it, we were pleasantly surprised The room was lovely There was a small kitchenette with silverware and dishes, pans and even a tea kettle The rooms all have a small balcony that overlooks the river It was very nice It was $99 for the night and I felt that was fair for location and what we got Downside, there was a lot of hair in the bathroom on the floor and towels and tub Could’ve been a bit cleaner But the rest of the place was very clean

We arrived to a beautifully apportioned setting with lots of folks eating dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel The foods we observed looked amazing and we decided to eat there also We were not disappointed!! Hotel staff was very pleasant and courteous and that helped set the tone for day 1 of our stay

The suite was nicely decorated with full sized appliances

Andrew

This was one of the first Residence Inns that I stayed at I thought it was pretty nice at the time, but after traveling around the US and staying at loads of other Residence Inns, I can say for sure: this place is an absolute rip off The rates they’re charging for rooms do not match the accommodations/comfort at all

Their hotel design was way too guest-restrictive (absurdly low thermostat limits, forced ventilation, key card had to be in a slot for the lights to work, etc), and this was quite literally the only Residence Inn that I’ve been to that didn’t have ovens in the guest rooms (maybe just the studio rooms?) They actually had to have maintenance come up to my room to raise the 75 degree maximum (seriously, 75 degrees F, in winter) thermostat temperature on their tamper-proof, unbranded thermostats This was considered a special accommodation, to have a livable temperature in my $300+ per night guest roomAcross the entire US, I’ve seen nothing like this at other Residence Inns – even brand new ones The level of restrictiveness/guest-control measures here was borderline obsceneMy girlfriend and I booked 2 nights in 2 rooms here after we moved out of our house on Mount Desert Island Over $300 per night per room for studio “suites” We’ve paid less than half that for two bedroom suites, at nicer and far more comfortable locations, with this same brand It was the first leg of our journey of traveling the country, and it was, by far, the least comfortable and most disproportionately expensive Marriott extended stay hotel that we’ve been toThe only good thing that I can really say about this place is that it was clean – but all of the others have been clean, too – and equally so It was nothing specialI would not recommend this place to anyone, and cost aside, I would only return to it as a last resort-Full time traveler, one time guest, Bonvoy Titanium Elite member

Perfect stay! Hotel staff was friendly The gentleman that worked nights (we arrived at hotel after 8 hours pm both nights) was super friendly and very helpful with everything Compared to a few other hotels we have stayed at on our trip (SpringHill Suites Boston, MA & AC Hotel Portland, ME) this one topped both

Spacious room with good layout and very clean We highly recommend this location We were visiting the area to go to Bar Harbor, ME and this was the closest Marriott that would fit my family with of 4 (older son & daughter) It was about an hour drive but was worth it for the size of room and the kindness of the employees The only hotel where we didn’t get stuck on 2nd floor because of using points
