What an excellent location–secluded and private, but also close enough to many attractions and restaurants and antique shops Rebecca is a wonderful host, very welcoming and interesting, and her brownies are a great late-night snack to come back to Our room was clean and comfortable, with a private balcony and private bathroom

Breakfast in the morning was delicious–she made us fluffy French toast, chili-jalapeno grits, sausage, roasted tomato, and fresh fruit with creamWe will definitely come back again, and recommend The Sautee-Nacoochee Inn to anyone wanting to explore North Georgia I’m sure it will be even more beautiful in the fall

Mary Ellen Belcher

We highly recommend the Sautee Inn to everyone! Alberta and Tony are so sweet and are wonderful hosts…along with Sunshine, the kitty! Breakfasts are huge and delicious and served promptly at 9:00 Tony has chickens so there are fresh eggs for Alberts’s meals And she serves dessert when you get back at night (before 10:00)

The rooms are clean, stocked with amenities and very comfortable We stayed in the Victorian Suite and had a huge porch with swing to enjoy the outdoors from We will definitely be back!

We discovered The Sautee Inn in 2015 and were so impressed that we returned the next year After five years we visited again toward the end of August, We have stayed at several bed and breakfasts but my wife and I agree that there is none better than The Sautee Inn Tony and Alberta go out of their way to insure you have a great visit

It is the only bed and breakfast we have visited that offers nightly desserts The first night we were there happened to be my birthday and we and the other guests were treated to a strawberry birthday cake and vanilla ice cream We had our dessert each night on the large screened in porch with the other guests and the hosts The breakfast each morning was wonderful also The large house and grounds are immaculate and the rooms are clean and cozy The three upstairs at the back of the house have private balconies We have agreed that each time we return to the area we will stay at The Sautee Inn We are always made to feel like family and this time we were looking forward to seeing Tony and Alberta once again If you are planning a visit to the area try The Sautee Inn You won’t regret it

The most important aspect of a hotel is a good night’s sleep and you won’t be getting one here Although the staff is lovely, there isn’t much they can do about the horrible beds And they truly are horrible

The air conditioner was also unreasonably loud and the carpeted floors were vaguely gritty and damp in a way that made you not want to walk around barefoot This falls far below what you should expect from a mid-range hotel at this price point Do yourself a favor Don’t stay here

Emma Roberts

Best customer service I have received in a long time Tina and Gus were amazingly friendly, helpful, and willing to help me with checking in, recommendations to eat, buy groceries, and suggestions for things to do in the area The room and property were very clean, and breakfast was good

I would definitely recommend this Hampton Inn

Brad Webb

I’m so glad the hot breakfast is back, post pandemic I also appreciate the USA today, the bedding, and the pillows These are the things that keep me coming back

Overall, this location isn’t quite as nice as most The front desk staff were very helpful, friendly, and efficient The pool is small with only four lounge chairs and four upright chairs, which is probably sufficient most of the time The worst part of my stay is that housekeeping staff were talking loudly enough, for an extended timeframe, to disrupt my sleep at 6:30 am There must be a way or a time to get the laundry done without waking up guests

The absolute best part about this hotel is that it is walking distance to downtown Helen No hassle with parking fees, just a five minute walk The suite we had was in the second building facing a nice view of the greenery coming into town and at night, provided us with a view of the Christmas lights

It’s an older hotel but renovated nicely, our fireplace was warm and cozy and this quaint 2 star hotel had a better, bigger jacuzzi than most of the nicer hotels I’ve stayed at The room itself was surprisingly large for the cheaper rate we got it at The bed was a little on the firm side, but the pillows were comfortable and it was very quiet at night The staff were all very friendly and asked if we had been here before and provided great informationMy cons are the curtains not closing all the way, and the breakfast was lousy – they only had boxed cereal and oatmeal and the cereal I had was beyond stale But at least it was free Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a medium budget option in Helen

Maryann Joyce

We stayed here our first night in Helen We got the hot tub room with fireplace and all It was very comfortable and clean

I really loved the wood/lament floors Just seems cleaner The staff were super friendly and helpful We had already booked a different hotel for our second night The gentleman at the desk was great but the room was unacceptable for me(and I’m truly not a complainer)He did help us cancel without issues We returned to SureStay and they welcomed us back with room as good as the first and we were so grateful for that Will definitely stay here again if ever back in Helen!

weebtyy__ (Ethan Storz)

This was probably the best hotel I’ve seen so far on my trip from Philly to Naples in Florida It was a hell of a ride but this was worth Free breakfast if your registered, the rooms look amazing with bathrooms, freezers, free TV, and comfortable beds

The service was well alright The location was beautiful right next to the city to go shopping and walk All-in-all 5/5

I was in this hotel Dec 26 2021The location of the hotel is excellent with a beautiful view of the city Nice hall with super friendly staff

I would like to highlight the attention of the girl at the front desk called Marie, very friendly, affectionate and ready to help Helpful and efficient staff The rooms are cozy, clean, smell good, super comfortable bed and the best pillows I loved my short stay and I feel that what I pay, is according to the service I received I recommend this hotel 100 percent

Jonah Miller

I stay in a lot of hotels across the US I’ve seen every shape and size This place is clean, in great condition, the staff is friendly and helpful

It’s close enough to the shops that you could walk if you wanted, but I went and parked at a pay to park place anywaysMy room was excellent My bed was soft and clean The TVs were new and clear pictured Absolutely no complaints on the room and facilitiesMy other issue is that they don’t have an outside fire pit and sitting area But the staff at the front desk said one will be going in soon in the rear of the building Guess I’ll get to enjoy it next time we stay for the weekend

Whitney Baldizon

Very nice and clean, super friendly and helpful staff, great location! The staff was so nice and gave us recommendations for things to do, places to eat, etc Breakfast was much better than I expected but, eat early! We ate at 8:00 and at 9:30, it was very busy Great location to walk downtown but far enough away from the busyness

We really enjoyed our stay here!

We loved the food, was excellent quality Being able to have breakfast of such good taste be prepared for us and not having to run into town for breakfast was relaxing The owners were very friendly

Jessica Barry

Staff was very gracious The room was clean They are working on updating and a new shower was part of this

It was by the river but no view from the room The downside to this hotel, two flights of stairs to get to the room There is a stairwell to the parking area out the back and another stairwell to the front main road The balcony off the room is nice with a view of the river and the mountains but sadly the noise of traffic and throngs of people take away from the beauty and peace This reminded us of Gatlinburg, TN, tourist trap with more incentive to buy items than a getaway to enjoy the area

Andrea PM

I don’t understand the positive reviews, it’s almost like we stayed in a different hotel The staff was nice, but that’s almost all the good I can say about this place, and that the location and views are great Other than that, the hotel was old in the worst way possible, as in it looked unkept, forgotten and decayed, it was musty, was and felt dirty, the mattress felt like it was 40 years old and a troll had been sleeping on there for that same amount of time

As soon as we got to our room we immediately wanted to leave, it was so uncomfortableHelen in general was depressing, and I’d advice anyone who asked to stay away from this tourist trap, it was mostly a waste of time and money and hardly enjoyable

Very welcoming atmosphere Been once and had a blast tent camping Heading back next week to rent a cabin for my birthday

My wife and I really enjoyed all of the amenities The hot tub was closed for an upgrade, but the pool was very warm and inviting We spent 6 hours in it one day just talking to new friends The trail to the creek is not very long, but it is hilly and worth the trip Can’t wait to go back!Edit: My wife and I went for a second trip in August 2021 for my birthday ( in our birthday suits) We rented one of the park trailers for a couple of days and loved it! The trailers (cabins) are getting a little worn, but they are clean & serviceable Planning on renting a lot for our camper and staying full time What more needs to be said?

That photo is very misleading I drove through on a delivery, past the clubhouse Several homes were hard to recognize from the garbage and junk piled all the way around some locations

I’ve actually delivered to junk yards and commercial dumps that were neater looking than this place I only went across the lower section but the place evidently have no by-laws or home owners association

This place is a family vacation dream! It is so cute and clean! It is like a woodsy cabin theme inside It has kitchen and enough beds for the whole family We love the on-site playground and you can even wade in the river

Across the street is a water slide and tubing center There are restaurants within walking distance There are different units above or below you so the sounds of footsteps was the only thing I didn’t like But it’s no big deal There is a beautiful porch overlooking the river so you can relax while having breakfast I will definitely come back when we stay in Helen again

This lodge was very nice There was even a separate building where people could have weddings When you walk in the door of the lodge the smell of the place itself was really good

Our room was lovely, large, and very clean! The bed and bedding was so comfortable Annie (the manager), Gail, and Colette all went out of there way to be as informative and helpful as possible The staff made sure we had ice and everything else we needed for our stay The only thing was that we stayed during the week and the tasting room and gift shop wasn’t open while we were there, but maybe next time! Overall it was a beautiful stay with very friendly staff I would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here! You won’t be disappointed

Food in walking distance Just beautiful scenery Thank you Zack Kylie and Gary for the hospitality Thank you Danita for the milk The reason 4 stars is because the pool was so cold and it’s supposed to be heated

Great breakfast in the morning, well stocked coffee and fresh made food options They DO HAVE KEURIG coffee machines in the rooms, so if your a picky flavor person, you can bring your own k-cups!!!! I stayed one night a couple of months ago, but didn’t write a review I noticed there were several negative reviews recently I’m going back in a couple of days to stay one night again with my dog

He loves the mountainsI’ve been going to Helen for over forty years and have stayed at this motel many times It has changed hands over the years but I can’t recall ever having a “bad” stay Little things here and there, but always seemed to have it resolvedThe latest stay a couple of months ago was great We had a room on the lower level Upon arrival the check-in process was good with very friendly service and the room had the AC already on so the room was nice and cool It looked like the room had been recently updated with flooring and upgrades in the bathroom The motel is of course older than some of the others, but during my stay it appeared that the staff was really trying to get things in order Everywhere businesses are trying to hire workers which has had an impact on their service But I try not to complain too much if the staff working appear to be trying their bestHopefully our stay in a couple of days will be like our last one

1 Poor management2 Poor maintenance on the building and rooms3

They talk about beautiful pool not true is close and out of service4 The office air conditioner doesn’t work properly and is warm beside smell5 The weed because they don’t have a garden is awful6 The room 211 the bath top was clogged It was 7:30 pm when we arrived and the room wasn’t ready, card key wasn’t working as well so we have to wait over 20 minutes No soap, no shampoo the conditioner was used by the other customer Breakfast go to the town please!!7 Yes, is walking distance to downtown which is great Is hard to fine parking in downtown Unless you paid &10

Kelsey Napier

Getting charged 3X (@$304 each) for a 2 night stay was not how I wanted to spend my weekend In Helen! The Manager was very nice and helpful I would not be leaving the review if it didn’t take 5 days to get my money returned to my bank accountThe hotel itself was not bad, just keep an eye on your online banking!!
