Let me first start that the room I stayed in was great Nice space and very clean and quite But this 5 star review really goes to the server at the restaurant at the hotel

I’d like to thank and recommend Trina From the way she greats you when you walk in and the way she does her job is superb and exemplary I have been privileged enough to work with some of the best servers in the hospitality industry through out my 6 years as a kitchen manager Although I don’t work with Trina, I can tell by her energy, work ethic, and the way she treats both coworkers and customers that she is a awesome server and person I hope whoever manages and owns this hotel realize how much of a gem she is Trina if your reading this, please do not change, stay true to who you are and your mission I wish the best to you and the rest of your life and may people imitate your great example

We loved staying at this hotel frequently having to travel for my job in the past This most recent stay we used a mixture of points and $ and the room was definitely not up to par as previous multiple experiences I called and asked if they had a room that could open the window as all other rooms we stayed in previously did and the answer was a curt “NO!” (I always like to sleep with an open window)

When we left the next am, I noticed that the room directly above us had their window wide open I had to use the air conditioner for ventilation which made the room too cold I will not be using the rest of my points at this particular hotel again I will try elsewhere next trip into Portland area

Nice place to stretch out and stay if you find yourself in the Portland area We got two days for a very reasonable price and were very pleased with the value Shoot, we probably put them in the red for our stay for all we eat at the scrumptious continental breakfast

Pool hours were a bit confusing and I think I ended up with about a dozen key cards after the previous eleven failing at one point or anotherof course this very well could have been operator error Super convenient having Target within tripping distance of the back door and they even offered complementary drinks for happy hour with our purchase My high compliments to the staff and management of this fine establishment

The hotel was a madhouse Kids were running all around the hotel doing whatever they wanted and there was no hotel staff around to keep things under control Kids pressed every button to stop the elevator on every floor so you had no choice but to ride it out or take the stairs

There was tape on the carpet, tape on the ceiling Cleanliness was questionableCheap precooked food was served for breakfast and the buffet was not restocked as it should have been The staff seemed to be more concerned with closing and shutting down than making sure guests were happyEvening reception was a joke Bagged chips and cheese? Insulting The line for drinks didn’t seem to move Stood in line 30 minutes and still never received my drinksThe bed was hard as a brick and linen had holes in itRequested a room cleaning and the front desk clerk told me I needed to request it the night before despite never telling me that during check inWe had to change rooms because someone left their dog in the hotel room and it barked for hoursNever staying here again

Avoid booking here if you have other optionsThere were multiple bus loads full of young people in the hotel who decided to stay up well past “quiet hours” to have a huge pizza party with music, singing and yelling within the central common area This was going on when we checked in around 8pm but didn’t stop

I called the front desk at 9pm and asked when the quiet hours would be enforced I was told by the front desk manager that security was “handling” the situation and it would be quiet soon for the 9pm quiet hours curfew Unfortunately, that never happened The noise actually grew louder as the crowd grew more raucous I kept calling the front desk when there was no hint of it calming down at 10:30pm, but no one bothered to pick up the phone at that point My call, and likely many others from angry and distressed guests (many who are parents of young kids like us), was sent to hold I actually considered calling the police to assist the incompetent staff to control the crowd, but decided Portland Police probably had more urgent issues to addressI understand that it can be hard to control rowdy and inconsiderate guests, but it appears that there were no attempts made to try In fact, according to the reviews, this is a common occurrence in this locationI never would have booked a stay in this location had I known the inferior quality control and complete lack of decorum and consideration for the other guestsI emailed the general manager and he (promptly) offered his “deepest regret and apology” I don’t want an apology I want to get what I paid for…a pleasant and comfortable hotel experience with my family

We choose to stay with Hampton Inn for the cleanliness many of their locations have, but were terribly disappointed with Hillsboro The place has an awful stench the moment we walked into the side door and up the stairs It was chemical and overwhelming

Our first room was revolting It was tiny and smeared with food (or possibly something else) all over the bathroom door Visible food chunks on the table All the corners of the floors rimmed with filthy, dingy little bathtub You could tell everything needed a deep cleanThe clerk gave us another room that was larger and cleaner, but not by much There was thick mold behind the sink faucet and hairs from a previous guest’s shave The end tables, bathroom counter, and bath tub/shower appear to be leftovers from another hotel chain, at least 30 years old They are in poor repair and not consistent with other Hampton properties The carpet had long loose threads hanging from the point where it meets the tile, clearly a poor install job The entire hotel is just old, dark, and dingey Add to that the right roar of the freeway all night and you’re probably gonna be happier taking your $200 elsewhereWe decided to opt out of breakfast over concern that their food is likely handled as poorly as the rest of the property Don’t stay at this Hampton It’s more like a Ramada

If you are a tourist DONT stay at this hotel Why you might ask1

We make a reservation in advance and when we arrived we didn’t get what we requested2 YOU MUST CHECK THE WEBSITE CAREFULLY Unlike comparable hotels rooms:A You will pay much moreB this hotel charges extra for parking,C requires a damage deposit in addition to the cost of the room although they have all your credit card detailsDhas no microwave or fridge or laundry services

I travel for work every week and I always stay at Hilton hotels, with that in mind I have stayed in my share of Hampton Inns This one was modern and the room was more than adequate, what really set this one apart was the staff, who were warm and friendly, they made me feel welcome and in particular, when I asked a member of the cleaning staff to leave a trash bag in side my door, they cleaned my whole room and performed full service which is not the norm during these weird covid times It made me feel great that I returned to my room after a long day at work, that my room was warm, clean and smelled nice, unlike the 2 day old roasted garlic pizza I had setting on the counter!I don’t know if it was a big deal for them but it was a huge deal to me thank you!

Good location Nice pool BUT if you have more than one person staying in the room, I would NOT recommend

The bathroom doors are “barn door” style with opaque glass Which means:1) They don’t actually fully close, and every sound and smell will be fully shared with the the sleeping space2) If someone uses the bathroom in the middle of the night, you WILL see the bathroom lightIt looks lovely, but the design practicality is 0 stars

Courtney Baty

The entrance is warm and inviting The room was fairly clean, the couch had stains and rips The rating comes from lack off amenities for the price ( the spa was dirty and had large amounts of foam, no breakfast, bar and grill were closed) the noise (my neighbors kept me up till 3:30 am) and the fact that housekeeping came into my room at 9:35am without knocking, as if I was already checked out from my 4 hour sleep

Luckily I had clothes on For being a more pricey hotel in the area, I expected more

Zechariah Church

When I checked in and went to my room The TV wasn’t working, so I tried to call down to have someone fix it No one answered, I had to go down to the desk to get help

None of the trash cans had trash bags, the shower had hair all in it I paid extra to have breakfast included and all it was, is a bag with an orange, granola bar and a bagel Not worth $20 extra dollars The bar/restaurant was closed Was just an overall disappointing stay and wouldn’t recommend anyone else staying

Our room was nice and clean This is my second time staying at a Hilton Garden hotel and what I really like about their rooms is that they feel roomy, larger than they are, they are well designed in that they think about how a traveler would use the space, which I really appreciateFor example they have plenty of room and storage for your luggage and all your things, which I have found in many hotel rooms they offer space for one suitcase but nowhere to put a 2nd or more suitcases and your other items you travel with

So you feel crampedAlong with other convenient small things that make traveling easier in their roomsThey had a welcoming and tastefully done lobby with an eating/commons area to just chill outThey also have a great outdoor seating area with a fire-pit So for what I call a good value hotel I highly recommend themThe only thing that wasn’t great was their pillows They were flat and not soft So I was glad that I brought my own pillow

Great place Upscale rooms, plenty of parking Hotel Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous

Laundry facility could be upgraded and expanded to accommodate more than 1 or 2 guests at a time Excellent fitness room It was a long walk from one end of the hotel on the 3rd floor to the laundry room all the way on the other end of the hotel on the 1st floor Bit there are key-card controlled exits at each end for convenient ingress and egress from all sides of the hotel No vending machines, but there are sundry overpriced goodies available at a counter by the front desk There is a convenience store/gas station just up the block a bit, (closes at 11pm) within walking distance Lots of meeting rooms on the first floor Ice machines on every floor Overall a great experience, I would definitely recommend this hotel to any road-weary travelers Please note that they charge an additional $25 per night deposit on your reservation, required at check-in, so that added $150 to our week’s stay Don’t know how long it takes for your deposit to get refunded Beautiful hotel, inside and out We loved our Executive King Suite It was roomy and comfortable! And no problems booking with our service dog

Spend your money elsewhere I chose this specific location/Hilton because it offered room service and I was healing from a medical procedure and was trying not to leave my room as much as possible I found out after I checked in that they are not offering it, though it is still being advertised

I called corporate and opened a case regarding my complaint only to be treated poorly on the phone every time I would call to check in on it as though I had done something wrong Management at this hotel also “denied” any compensation for this complaint and claimed they notified me of this, but I never once heard from the hotel manager about this decision When I called corporate they said they couldn’t do anything and it was up to the manager at that location to decide, so I was transferred to the hotel front desk only to be told “there is not a manager on duty” and that there “might” be one in tomorrow?Honestly staying here felt like the McDonald’s of hotels There were big pieces of food on the box spring on the side of the mattress that I had to throw away myself and it was gross I also had called and asked for more bathroom products and never got any Had to call again the following day and “remind them” and then was told I had to come down to get them The bar menu is also extremely limited Don’t waste your money staying at this overpriced hotel- I may as well have stayed at a motel 6

quality of the property is good, very modern and clean, however the service is very bad; when you ask questions they blame the pandemic for not having food ready for the breakfast, clearly being understaffed and not responding when you call the front desk Everyone is nice and helpful but unprepared Room also had a laundry sack and ticket in it to order from cleaners but when this amenity was used the front desk informed me that they had not taken laundry for some time

I’m assuming in 6 months this property could be better but right now I would not stay again

Ron Rabinowitz

My wife and I stayed here for an extended visit to the area During our stay, the lock on our door died, a fact that we discovered when we returned to the hotel at 10 PM The desk clerk came up to try the master card key and realized that maintenance personnel was needed

She was extremely professional, apologetic and polite about it The maintenance guy was there in under five minutes Everyone on staff was awesome and we will use this location again on future visits

The hotel is aesthetically pleasing, but it severely lacks in almost every other way This is the worst Residence Inn I’ve stayed at, and for the price, it’s a huge disappointment The bed is SO hard and uncomfortable that I actually ended up asking for 3 mattress pads, and had FOUR mattress pads on the bed total just to make it tolerable, but even then, it didn’t help much

I could feel my bones digging into the surface of the bed Worst nights sleep I’ve ever had at a hotel The laundry room requires cash, which is massively inconvenient considering most people don’t carry cash, and the hallway on the third floor smelled like fish most of yesterday 6/29, but at least at the end of the day, someone tried to cover it up with spray TV volume wouldn’t go below 20, so it was incredibly loud the entire time The internet worked well though I would never stay here again, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

Simone “Katia” Murphy

Overall the stays was fantastic 👏, enjoyed the room and the amenities provided However the customer was not the greatest The lack of information and the incorrect information that was given to me

The staff tines were not welcoming I understand we are in a pandemic of short staff and burnt out staff Hang in there every one Thanks

Nicole Carter

Absolutely amazing!! Stayed here for a week and the room was spacious so was the shower and bathroom Full kitchen was so nice to cook your own food and not have to get fast food or take out every night Views were nice from my specific room but I cannot vouch for all rooms

Beautiful green space to take your dog out Yummy breakfast and kind staff Absolutely will be coming back and would recommend to a friend 🙂

One of the best Best Western I’ve stayed in The hotel is very clean and the staffs are friendly The beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean

We booked the two bed-room suite and was very happy with the layout and how spacious everything was Free coffee in the front lobby is a winI would definitely stay here again when I’m back in town There was free breakfast but due to lack of staff, we received McDonald’s voucher for breakfast Can’t say I can have that for 5 days straight 😏

Mariah West

Absolutely the worst stay! Very upset with how we were treated in dealing with our reservation!I was quoted one thing over the phone and sent and email and paid a different price than quote When my family tried to check in they were told they couldn’t find the reservationWe left for the day and asked for our room to be cleaned and it was not

They advertise breakfast which is also not trueOver all this was a waste of money and truly put a huge frustration on our tripIf you’re looking for a place to stay that cares They simply do notAdvise to anyone looking Don’t waste your time or money here It’s absolutely unnerving how rude they are!

This is my 6th night at the Best Western University Inn & Suites in Forest Grove, Oregon There is a mobile home park behind the hotel Every single night dogs bark all night long

Very annoying and disruptiveWhen I checked in, the front desk asked me what day I wanted my sheets changed, since I am here for 8 nights I said Wednesday (today) and they confirmed Well, the sheets were not changed today as promised They forgot to leave a spare roll of toilet paper They forgot to empty the waste basket One day they forgot to make the bed Not impressedThe hot breakfast is very good and the breakfast staff are very attentive

The bistro is incredibly overpriced And often out of things They are also doing work on the roof between the hours of 7 and 5, I believe

I understand it is necessary, but definitely something to consider The bathroom door didn’t seem to fit very well and is difficult to close, the toilet moves and clinks when you sit on it as well I am assuming that was isolated situation and not occurring in all rooms Overall though, it’s comfortable and reasonably priced considering other options in the area

BT Vestal

This hotel was just “OK” I was staying here alone and honestly it was a bit depressing There was nothing available downstairs so basically I had to get in my car and leave the hotel to even get a coffee

Being that I was finally without my kids, I was really looking forward to a lazy morning They had very little in the way of food available to purchase The rooms felt clean, but are super dark, the TV worked “so so” I will never stay here again

Shaun Smith

Overall not a terrible hotel when it comes to aesthetics, We have stayed here before so we felt inclined to do so again My main complaint is the cleanliness of the room The carpet was sticky and my sons feet were black! It was gross

The bathroom door didn’t latch, and the shower door wouldn’t stay closed We spent more money to stay there just to find myself regretting the decision Next time we visit we will be trying another hotel, there are many right near by!

Quick stay for concert night at the Grand Lodge Easy to get to breakfast and nice seating Rooms in good shape and clean

Desk staff is working way to hard in afternoon check in I feel this leads to many errors which would lead to more checkin problems and mad customers Water flow is bad and shower not good over all Sad to because I really like the large bottles in shower and not chasing those little bottles all clumsy and naked Just bad design Mostly no vent in bathroom That’s why it is a two Why do we all have to know Grandma took a dump This review went from 5 to two over this issue No bathroom fan no good review ever That’s a pretty basic messiah and we live not in a 3rd world county…yet So everyone in room really wants a bathroom fan!

We were awoken by the sound of pounding and a drill from the hallway at 7 am I pay to sleep and this was a poor decision on management’s part It was not an emergency situation

It forced us to drive for hours that day too tired for comfort Will not stay here again Haha, love the response from the owner Guess you don’t read the reviews, eh?

Overall a good stay at the hotel The front desk and housekeepers were all pleasant and helpful The hotel is newer and quite modern, and in a safe neighborhood close to restaurants and shops

There were a few things about the hotel that I wasn’t a huge fan of The rooms have an open concept to them, where the sink is outside of the bathroom, and is right behind the wall where the beds are If someone wakes up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, the light by the sink shines over the wall and can wake others up Also, there is no microwave in the rooms, although there is one in near the front desk that you can use It was inconvenient to go down 4 floors to warm up our leftovers in the eveningI stayed for 5 nights and was told that for my length of stay that they would clean the room every other day (which was perfectly fine), but there was some sort of supposed glitch in their system that made our room get skipped over for cleaning I had to go down to the lobby on the 4th day to see what was going on The lady at the front desk was very sweet and put in a call to housekeeping, which came and finally cleaned our room an hour later Not the worst thing in the world, but after being out exploring all day, coming back to our room to see the trash still piled up and the towels not refreshed, it was a bit of a bummer Then having to leave our room for a while so they could clean it that evening, left us feeling exhaustedDespite the minor inconveniences, I enjoyed our stay here and would return if we are ever in the area again!

We’ve stayed at this hotel twice It is extremely clean, which is extra important these days The bed is one of the most comfortable hotel beds we’ve experienced- also a big reason we came back

There is a fairly comprehensive continental breakfast included in the price (baked goods, cereals, yogurt, boiled eggs, microwave breakfast sandwiches) Convenient to freeway but quiet Recommended

Couple issues I encountered with my stay this last weekend:1) There is no pool or hot tub although advertised as such Well, there IS a pool, it just has no water in it2) I understand staffing shortages across the area, however, it doesn’t mean the front desk people shouldn’t attempt to be cordial to us paying to stay there

I didn’t encounter one staff member who smiled or pretended to like their job over the whole weekend3) Room was decent although there was a smell of urine between our door and the elevatorNot worth the cost to stay here

They had a fridge, coffee maker, and tv that all worked goodI wish they provided a microwave as well

Hands down one of the best experiences I have had! This little boutique hotel has very cozy rooms – with all of the comforts of home The jetted tub was a major reason we chose this hotel and it was beyond worth it to unwind for a night away from the stress at home! The room was spotless, and they even left a personalized card and bottle of wine with our breakfast voucher This place is lovely, and we will definitely be booking again

The Orenco is a gem! Located on a quiet and charming street, yet also has easy access to highway 26 A short morning walk to a wonderful bakery and restaurants only a block away My room was cozy, comfortable and spotlessly clean

The owners are kind and attentive The room had all of the amenities that I needed You don’t want to stay in a big hotel, when you can stay at the Orenco! I’d definitely stay there again Thank you Margie and Richard!

Reminiscent of historic brownstones in New York City, The Orenco offers short or extended-stay lodgings in an upscale, quiet, and safe neighborhoodOur room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, bathroom included toiletries with bathrobes, and kitchenette was fully equippedMany great dining options are within a short walk and it’s also close to the Tri-Met station

I was exploring Hillsboro, which is not far from home This is a perfect place to stay if you are in the area for business or pleasure

Food was great although they were on a limited menu in the Ironworks due to a heat wave at the moment Our server was incredible! We enjoyed a few games of pool in the Doctors Office and enjoyed a few drinks The drinks were modestly priced and very good

Lots of live music in different parts of the establishment made for a really rich experience Really looking forward to going back and visiting again!!!

Wonderful place in so many ways (the service, the food, the buildings, interesting features, the beautiful grounds) and I’m sure many of the rooms are great, too, but ours wasn’t It was a dingy and smelly room with tiny windows that didn’t open Perhaps that was intended to be mysterious and cool, but one sometimes needs a table to put stuff on

This wasn’t the first time I stayed at a McMenamins, but it was the first time I disliked a room I can’t recall if the description mentioned there were no windows that could be opened, but this “attic room” was more attic crawl space than a roomAll the staff were great The food was delicious Parking was plentiful I just think they took “it has character” a little too far on the third floor

It’s an eclectic Lodge Lots of local history on the interior walls to explore We did enjoy the outdoor soaking pool

The grounds are lovely We had breakfast each morning at the lodge restaurant which was goodThe rooms are small The pillows were not good, thank goodness we brought our own pillows from home You do have to walk down the hall to use the bathroom which didn’t end up being that big of a deal for usIt’s unique and the price was reasonable

It is very clean and up to date We had a shower with glass doors- no leakages It had a large vanity with sink separate from toilet and shower

It had a 1/2 wall that separated the bed from the small living room and a wrap around desk ( plenty of counter)I would stay there againWe used points for our reservation since Hilton bought Diamond Resorts A plus for us

Anastasia Petryakov

Honestly, the stay was great Staff was nice, rooms were clean, pool was clean BUT we came from out of state and got our catalytic converter stolen overnight Extremely stressful and disappointing

We parked in the main lot towards the back During the police report we learned this isn’t the first time it happened, maybe getting a security guard for over night lot guard would make the stay more safe for your guests

Brian R

Pros: Fair price Wonderful and friendly staff the rooms were clean and beds surprisingly comfortableCons: The bathroom fan was horribly loud and you have no option to turn the fan offWhen the light is on the fan is on This was really annoying and disruptive

Building needs a little updatingId probably stay here again!

Looking for a room with a kitchen? Stay hereFront desk staff was pleasant and funny The general manager blew us away with how eager he was to assist us

And we didn’t even need anythingOur room was spotless, the kitchen was well laid out, the chairs were comfortable, working at the counter was easy Our beds were the best we felt in a long string of hotels as we move from thousands of miles away to HillsboroBreakfast was yummy, the lounge and outdoor seating was comfortable and modernI cannot recommend this hotel moreDo note, however, that the side facing the street has a fire station just around the corner and some noisy cars can be heard pretty clearly If you’re sensitive to that you may want to call ahead and try to reserve a room on the north sideThe hotel was designed with only one elevator and there is nothing they can do about that now, but if you will rely on it, do note that it can be slow if the hotel is busy

Sadly I had to give 3 stars rather than 4 or 5 due to the presence of and endless stream of sugar ants in our room and water damage with black mold in the bathroom All else was satisfactory The staff were friendly and helpful and the rest of the facility was well laid out and clean

I will stay here again on a future trip and see if conditions improve

I have been a loyal customer of the staybridge brand because I know of how excellent the services has been I have been staying at different staybridge location and they have either met or exceed my expectation when it comes to services However, this location, has been the only exception

My stay here has been the worst experiences I have had in of all the years traveling and vacationing with family I had booked two different reservations one paid, and the other using our annual free night I want to stay in the same room for both nights I had done this with another staybridge location before and even if I had to pay extra No issues Expecting potential issues, I called the hotel after the booking confirming with hotels that it is possible They reassure me that it can be done Day of checking in with the General Manager, they won’t be able to let me stay in the same room I had to remove all of my family belongings out of the room, wait for them, to get the other room ready So we wasted time and energy We decided to go out instead of waiting for the room to be clean, expecting when we come back the “new” room will be cleaned and ready And again another let down when we came back to check the room, they gave us the keys The room was dirty Trash from the previous person, was still there and beds undone This has got to be the worst hotel and biggest let down I hadI would not recommend this hotel to anyone
