We were only spending the night as part of our mini vacation We checked in at 4:30 and went our for a steak and lobster meal at a location close by I wanted 2 queen beds but, none were available

They said they could get a suite with a king size bed and a divan that opened up to a queen size bed Perfect! It was very comfortable! The ultra bedding for the divan mattress was immaculate and the bed linens were fresh and and smelled so good! The breakfast was Outstanding and Delicious So many choices My eggs were cooked to my specifications and there were more choices on the buffet to choose from!! They went above an beyond to cater to our every need Love This Place!!!!!

I had booked at the Aloft, but was relocated due to a plumbing issue at the hotel I was grateful for a place to stay but the courtyard is nothing like the Aloft Nothing within walking distance and the hotel bar is reminiscent of a walk up counter at the airport rather than a place to relax at the end of a long work day

Room was clean, but there are no usb charging ports which was inconvenient and unexpected Staff was fine Overall this place left no impression on me and I wouldn’t stay here again unless it was the only option Great if you plan to drive somewhere for dinner and then go straight to your room and sleep

I stayed at Unity Hotel on 3/18/22 for the first time because I just randomly booked a room through Choice Hotels I didn’t expect to stumble upon such a wonderful place to stay The staff were all true definitions of servant leaders focusing energy on helping those visiting

The amount of warmth and the beautiful spirits within everyone I came across was a wonderful surprise The energy within this hotel was calming and for the first time in over a week I actually slept through the night The decor throughout the hotel was beautiful and the rooms extremely clean and kept up I look forward to visiting the hotel and Unity Village in the future for a retreat Thank you all for a perfect experience!

From the gorgeous, expansive campus, to the neatly and brightly arranged rooms, to the hot complimentary breakfast, to the excellent staff, you cannot ask for a better accommodationThough a bit outside the city, it’s proximity away from the hustle and bustle is actually an alluring feature of the hotelAnd one of the best features above all is the sprawling campus and gardens outside the hotel

I dare say you’ll find a perk like this at any other hotel The nearby fountains, gardens, and nature trail were intimate and complemented the hotel perfectly Following a breakfast comprised of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and fresh lemon cucumber water, my family and I were able to explore and relish in the gardens/fountains all to ourselves I also like that the building itself operates more like a boutique than a large chain hotel Everything just seems personalized just for youI sure hope this place is able to stay open because this is the place we want to stay at whenever we pass thru KC

Daniel C

I can’t speak highly enough about Unity Hotel and its staff Check-in was easy/quick and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful I didn’t expect to find such a gem but was happy to book this spot for a short stay

Enjoyed the breakfast very much as well as the nature walk path outside Saw fireflies for the first time which was a small treat Would 100% book here again

Our hotel room was beautiful I actually really liked the couch in the room! I also thought it was nice that they had a magnified mirror for makeup and soap/shampoo dispenser in the shower I also thought we had a great view with a cute little patio area

They did have a little area you could order breakfast from but the selection was pretty small and I thought kind of expensive but I was glad they had milk for my son We will definitely be back

Jonna Nevins

I felt so lucky to find this place to stay after having sewage issue at our own place, and the hotel next door Extended Stay cancelled my reservation as they were somehow “overbooked” The place is very clean and quiet, and the staffs are extremely kind and helpful all the time The bed is very comfortable to sleep and surrounding environment is very nice for suburban hotel

The management is very helpful to accommodate our unique situation for adjusting staying duration, and I just cannot say enough thanks to that I would highly recommend this place to anyone who need a nice place to say in south KC area!

Katrina Rush

This hotel is not expensive There were some strains on my sheets They looked like water stains similar to what you get on the ceiling

The room didn’t have any extra blankets for the pull out bed The staff was helpful in person, but impossible to reach on the phone I also thought it was weird that you had to put in a reservation for the pool It was a good enough value for the price

The staff was great Very friendly and helpful We booked our room through priceline and we were not told about a $100 deposit on there

The room was clean and good size They have breakfast their with a good variety The only downside is there is not a ton of parking and there was road construction on the outer road to get to the hotel

Jim Torchia

While I normally have great experiences at HIE hotels, this location failed to deliverThe Internet connection in my room was either non existent or too slow to use With work to do, I switched to my personal hotspot connection on my phone, confirming issue was not with my computer

I tried several times over two days to use the hotel Internet with the same poor resultThe breakfast buffet was terrible Sausage patties had an off taste and the serving vessels required two hands to operate The egg products were about as cheap as you can get from commercial suppliers and tasted as suchThe room was clean and otherwise comfortable Location and parking were also OK Getting there was a bit tricky as it is on a frontage road of a highway, but GPS made this a non issue Staff at check-in were great

Amie Schrack

Staff go above and beyond I’d like to give an extra kudos to Adam at the front desk Adam went above and beyond to provide optimal customer service

Friendly, helpful and courteous!Rooms are clean, breakfast offers a wide selection to choose fromHighly recommend staying at this location

This location accommodated our entire softball team for a week, setting up a block of rooms was a snap! The rooms were sizable and very clean! All of the staff were extremely friendly & helpful, there wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for our group, including providing complimentary breakfast every morning without us even asking! The location was also great, super easy to hop on the interstate and many restaurants close by Nice pool & bar area to relax in This was a top notch stay!

Kylene Littrel

The beds were insanely hard I only give it two stars because the staff was friendly and the room was nice and clean The main thing I look for in a hotel is my ability to sleep comfortably and that did not happen

I even tried sleeping on the couch which was more comfortable than the bed Also, paying an extra $10 per person for breakfast is ridiculous

5 stars for cleanliness It was immaculate when I was there Beds were comfortable

Didn’t interact with staff much at all but they seemed respectful Breakfast was solid Typical bland hotel scramble eggs Cool pancake machine complete mess FREE! Push one button and out came 2 hot, fresh pancakes (it was my first time ever seeing this wonderful machine that should be a standard appliance in American households) It’s proximity to Arrowhead was the draw and it’s cleanliness will bring me back

Mags Journey

Wonderful hotel Very clean, amazingly friendly staff who went above and beyond The rooms were large and clean, beds were comfortable

Close to downtown, but without the noise But the best part is the staff Everyone of them were so nice We got to breakfast late and still got to eat, front desk had actually conversations with us and the night security guard chatted with us and was so helpful If we are ever back in KC, we will be back 100% recommend!

Abby Jones

Staff was very friendly and accommodating We booked same day, so we’re glad to find a placeWe looked at availability online and saw that there was a “large room” with “outdoor seating” available

Booked this room It was in the basement surrounded by maintenance rooms It clearly was a former conference/storage/break room that had been converted The room was advertised as non-smoking – it should have been advertised as a former smoking room – the air was stale & smelled of old smokeIt was a missed opportunity- yes the room was huge, but it had 2 beds and a desk The kids thought it was a gymnastics roomThe TV in the room did not work There was no hair dryer (only the former hookup on the wall), no coffee pot either The key card didn’t work for the outdoor seating area that had a strange gate and there was no seatingThe pool had a sign that it was not available, although we were told it was fine to swim – so we didFinal straw… there was this random doorbell button on the wall OUTSIDE of our room When pushed it gave off the most annoying shrieking sound – similar to a fire alarm going off! Shower was also lukewarm at best and only 2 towels and one tiny shampoo in the roomBreakfast was good Pancakes, juice and coffee were good I did see an ant climbing on the juice machine No cinnamon rolls available, no fresh fruit & no pre-made oatmealOverall this did not meet my Holiday Inn Express standard The only reason I gave this 3 stars is because every single staff member we saw or spoke to was very friendly!! They earned all 3 of my stars!

Very kid friendly!!! The pool was a good temperature and everything was clean Breakfast had a good assortment of options and the staff was all very friendly and accommodating Sierra was one of two food prep staff that made sure my toddler had every option she could desire including cutting up extra strawberries just for her! Would definitely stay again!

Destiny Pardue

The bedroom was dirty and the lady at the front desk was rudeThe bed comforter had makeup on it, not a stain because it was rubbed into the sheet as well The shower was slimy and very slick on the bottom

There was one towel for two people When we called down to tell them about the dirty room her response was she was the only one here and there is nothing she can do When I mentioned the sheets again her response was that she wouldn’t be able to do anything, she can’t leave the front deskWe asked for a new room and she huffed down the phone before telling us to come down and get the new keysBetween the room being dirty and customer service, we won’t be back I had high hopes with this place being new but I guess notOn a positive note, there was an ice machine on both the 2nd and 3rd floor!

Jasen Parks

Passing through on a motorcycle trip in July 2022 The place was in a good location, clean and staff was nice Left before breakfast but I am sure it was fine (for a motel)

I would stay here again for sure

I will give this a 25 star for the following

The mattress was in need of replacement I told them the first night Was told it would be replace the following day It was not changed out the during our 7 night stay When I said something on the check out process, they told me they would tell maintenanceThe room was in need of a complete cleaning For instance, there was cobwebs on the wall by the ceiling The basics were done however it needed better attention to detailsHousekeeping is only done by request This was not told to us as we check in, we found this out through experience We removed the “do not disturb” sign so housekeeping would clean the room When we returned later in the evening, the room had not been cleaned When I went downstairs looking for clean towels, I was told I would need to request housekeeping services not automaticThe breakfast was ok and plenty to choose from

The room itself was clean and the hotel was peaceful, bed was nice Our stay was great However there was a price discrepancy that I needed clarity on so I called to figure out what the charges were and NATASHA the morning cashier didn’t even let me finish explaining the issue before she began to cut me off and talk

I kept asking what the extra charge was because it was showing in the bank account but it wasn’t on the receipt She continued to say it was a beautiful Saturday and she wasn’t in the mood to argue with me Talking about she doesn’t get paid to get talked to like that, MIND YOU, I NEVER got upset UNTIL she started making smart remarks and cutting me off, being sarcastic and whatnot So I gladly broke her off a piece and asked for a manager She hung up on me and I called back I’m being polite asking legit questions and she couldn’t even CLARIFY that it was an incidental charge The clerk that was there the night before said the incidental charge would be $20 but it ended up being more That’s where the confusion and miscommunication was However she was rude As h3ll Once I spoke to a manager she explained everything and it made sense I probably wouldn’t go back just off the strength she couldn’t explain something simple Maybe if she had listened before she started running her mouth I wouldn’t have snapped on her And the lady from the night before shouldn’t be telling people prices if she doesn’t know what she’s talking about

Taing Aung

Room was clean, beds very comfortable We stayed here for 1 night with our whole family so we booked 3 rooms My only complaint was the pool

filter was not running and hasn’t been for sometime The water was cloudy and there was so much built up scum on the pool tile that people were able to scratch their names on it Yuck There were no towels in the room and it was obvious no one had swept, mopped or even checked the pool room in quite a while (Ex Food on floor, dirty, wet floor and towels/goggles on the floor) We paid quite a bit to stay here and the pool was the deciding factor as to why we picked this place Not to mention the pictures of the pool are misleading, there isn’t even a hot tub as shown

3-star facility 5-star staff The property is aged but the staff were very friendly; everyone greeted me with a smile

The owner needs to update the property It’s old The dining area looks to have been updated in the last few years but the rest of the property has a late-90’s vibe to it Now although the decor and property are outdated the property was clean and seemingly well maintained Also, the area in front of the bathroom sink was carpeted–that was gross; we all know that carpet will never really fully dryThe desk staff were amongst the most friendly I have encountered in awhile at a Marriott property Management has clearly hired the right people and trained them wellHowever they were short-staffed; as is common in the hospitality industry today We needed maintainence for a ‘plumbing issue’ in our room The front desk attendant said they were short staffed but said she could provide us a plunger and rubber gloves to perform the service ourselves Frankly I was impressed and grateful for not only the honesty but the solutions-focused action of the staff My Midwestern sensibilities embraced the opportunity to solve a problem quickly by doing a little work myself but I could see how that could be a turn off to some guests Overall I consider this situation to be a positive because we felt like the staff were being creative in a tough situation to solve our problem Well done teamAlso, nice courtyard area off the lobby

My wife and I travel A LOT, and we’re always looking for the best complimentary breakfast Today we found it The chef, Joel, had the eggs and bacon cooked perfectly, pre-made Belgian waffles were delicious, and 6 different cereals to pick from (including granola, my favorite)

My coffee was on point and they had 4 different pre-bottled milks to pick from: skim, 2%, low fat chocolate, and OAT MILK!Fun fact, apparently Joel the Chef works maintenance but steps in for breakfast on the weekend I’m so glad we caught him on the weekend He made our stay!

We really enjoyed the hotel The breakfast variety was really nice and suprising The hot breakfast was always changing each day and not your standard eggs, sausage and bacon everyday

The room was nice and clean We did use the fitness center multiple times and it had plenty of space, free weights, heavy balls, yoga balls, bikes and treadmills Pool was not overly large All staff was extremely nice and helpfulWe would definitely stay at this property again

Dan Huisinga

Friendly staff Front desk, breakfast, housekeeping, and maintenance all seemed to enjoy giving us great hospitality and cared about making us feel appreciated during our stay Loudest and slowest elevator i have ever been in but it worked fine

Clean as expected at Hampton and the cleanliness in the pool area was above any i have experienced in any hotel

A Sayers

I was a little hesitant based off of the reviews However I really enjoyed my stay My family and I stayed four nights for a football tournament

When we got our room it was really nice and it was clean, sanitize and smelled refreshing The first night they forgot to put housekeeping for both rooms so I had to call them All the staff were really nice and very helpful My kids and I are really picky when it comes to breakfast but we all enjoy the foid They had a variety of different sides each day, and they kept the eating area really cleanThe only thing that bother me was i held the room on one credit card but when we got to the hotel I had to switch it to a different card and the Lady never informed me that there will be a hold on the first credit card but she did say that it would drop off when we checked out Sadly that was not the case my first credit card was charged again the day we checked out as well as the second credit card that was supposed be charged was also double charged at check out I called them to verify the credit card that was supposed to be charge, and they confirmed the second card They said it take 5 to 10 days for the fall off my credit card balance smh It doesn’t make sense to me because if that was a case I would’ve just kept it on the first card instead of switching it to the second card so now I have a hold on two different credit cards

Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway The only downside to our stay was the loud guests, which the hotel can’t control We had the theme suite and it was lovely

We did have to ask for more shampoo, as there was only enough for one person But they kindly gave me more! The room was very nicely decorated and the view was very nice Breakfast was really good, better than most hotels This was my second stay and I would definitely go back 😊

So, it’s a hotel You want clean room, safe property, some conveniences like a microwave and mini-fridge, snacks, a bar, ample parking, you get those things What makes this place great is the people

Everyone I had to interact with was wonderful and always gave me the feeling that I was important and that what I had to say, they wanted to hear It was really nice From check, to the night shift worker giving me directions, to the guy at the bar and even the person who was taking care of my room, everyone was great This is a good place to stay by yourself, with a group or with your family I highly recommend and I will definitely make this my hotel of choice for all of my visits

Great location, clean hotel, super friendly staff, amazing room (get the king with the whirlpool tub — worth it), AND, our favorite was that they have “adult swim” from 10-11pm There was a large group of teens at the hotel during our stay and, as kids do, they were all over the pool having a good time Adult swim hour gave us the time to just … chill, as adults like to do, without the craziness of kids being kids

If you need somewhere to stay in or around Kansas City, definitely pick this one It’s just far enough away from the big city to stay safe and quiet but also close enough to enjoy what the city and surrounding areas have to offerWill definitely book here next time I’m in the area 10/10

First I want to say this place is clean cozy and the staff is very helpful, nice and accommodating We checked in late due to a late flight They had a nice little “market” area that was greatly needed since all restaurants were closed at that time

In the morning the breakfast had a number of choices, a very good selection We were in town due to a funeral Our flight was in the late afternoon We asked if we could have a possible extra late check out so we could at least shower and change clothes after the service before we got back on the plane Samantha was so kind to let us And even asked if we needed extra towels That was above and beyond for us I am from this area, every time I visit family this is where I will do my business I can’t stress how grateful and appreciative I am for Samantha being so accommodating I definitely highly recommend

Called at 3pm , got a reservation for our room with our credit card info We drove from Texas and it’s 1am and our family is ready to get situated in our room and rest only to find out that our reservation was cancelled because of some priority membership some else had! No phone call or anything to let us know that our room was being canceled

My job required me to stay in a hotel for the last 11 months through the week After staying at two competitors in the area, I found this hotel The Management and Staff have been wonderful as I have stayed 120 nights between 4/1/21 and 9/24/21

The rooms are clean Service is friendly And breakfast through the pandemic was good My time will be up next week and I couldn’t have made it through this project without this hotel Thank you all!

The rooms were spacious and cozy and definitely worth the price point Stayed one night for a couples’ weekend and the area was clean and quiet Love the setup with glass elevators and a huge central “courtyard” area

Bartender was very kind and conversational and breakfast was good (albeit a bit hectic, but hey, it’s free!)Used the remote key option in the Hilton app and it was AWESOME! So neat to be able to open the door with my phone and do a remote check-in to skip the line

Very friendly, clean hotel Upon arrival we were greeted by a gentleman at the front desk He went out of his way, to show us a room, and to be patient as we decided whether to stay

Glad we did! This hotel was clean, and had the most courteous, and friendly staff I have seen in a long time Breakfast was a surprise as it was a hot breakfast with numerous choices Once again, the staff was very courteous and ready to help They seemed sincere and it was refreshing Will stay there again

The included breakfast is great Made to order omelets, additional hot food items, as well as fruit, waffles, bagels, and oatmeal The evening reception is a great add, and the bar staff is awesome

The new food menu is full of options that are hard to choose from, and the food actually comes out tasting like a solid restuarant grade meal Very good Rooms are always clean and feel updated even though the hotel is older Location is close to highway and there are lots of other restaurants nearby

NOT A REAL HYATT! Nice staff but the hotel needs some serious updating 1st room they sent us to was not even cleaned yet, no towels or soap & disgusting green tinge on bathroom door handle Not worth your money!! & yeah I totally agree with any other negative reviews about this place! I understand it’s hard to find workers these days but then just say your full

Felt sorry for the one maid that was there at 10pm still cleaning rooms!! My one star is generous

Kathryn Edward

I would give it 0 stars if I could No one was at the front desk for a solid 20 minutes, and when someone finally came they proceeded to ignore me and take the phone call that had been ringing for 5-10 minutes Fine, I checked into my room and it was great looking, but there were crumbs all over the couch, some random guy’s shoes still there, and there were *blood* stains on the bed… I was disgusted so I moved to the couch bed

That was even worse It smelled of urine I slept the night in the bed and was starving the next morning I went down for breakfast and it was DISGUSTING There was a white foam over the eggs and the tortillas were molding together The “oatmeal” was oats in cold water in a cooking pot I’ve been with hyatt for a long time and never have I ever seen something this appalling Do not stay here

HORRIBLE Experience!! We booked two rooms The first one was right next to the pool The entire night we could smell weed so noone was bothering to check anything outside

The other room when we checked in was HORRIBLY Hot The thermostat was broken and was reading 78 degrees We were able to get the AC unit to turn on but it was either a meat locker at 62 degrees or a sauna at 78 degrees I will give the staff some credit as they did try to fix it by giving us a different room, but when we walked into that one it had a horrible smell of sewer gas so we decided to just give the hot/cold room a try for the night When we woke up the next morning, there was NO hot water Overall i would say this was a VERY BAD experience and we have stayed at this location several times in the past I highly doubt we will come back after this experience
