We are traveling and stayed here 6 years ago and this week again Please don’t believe any negative reviewsThis is a fabulous place, and a new updated facility

Clean rooms, and bathrooms are very clean I have gotten excellent customer service from the staff and felt very satisfied They offer full breakfast Monday through Friday and breakfast foods are offered on the weekends They also have a washer and dryer available

Holly Thomas

Slightly off the main road, but worth it! Staff was VERY friendly and helpful They even added additional breakfast items when we came down lateBreakfast was delicious, BLUEBERRY waffles, delicious biscuits and gravy as well as the usual continental breakfast items

The rooms were clean and comfortable If we’re ever passing through Joplin again, we’ll definitely stay here

Dixie Vessar

I would give zero stars if I could The only nice thing about this place is the managers The staff was rude and argumentative, the rooms were dirty, and the breakfast was microwave sandwiches

If you’re looking for a cheap place for nothing more than a bed for the night maybe But I would only use this place as a last resort The air conditioner basically just makes noise We had a room with 2 queen beds (which were more like twin beds) and they were not comfortable at all (they felt like we were sleeping on the ground) Also the comfort inn is run by the same management We also left as a guy sprayed a room for bugs

Had so much fun this weekend! The room was perfect and the heated pool and hot tub were a nice addition No one else was there the entire time we were relaxing, which made the experience that much more enjoyable All the staff we encountered were extremely helpful and friendly

Of course it’s a casino, and I never win any money while I’m here, but it’s always a great time!

Rick Tackett

Overall this was a nice place to visit The buffet was excellent and Vera was our server, she was from the Ukraine and very pleasant I did win some money but not enough to make a big deal about

The band was great and the atmosphere enjoyable for the majority of the time Was there to try and win their million dollar giveaway and didn’t get my name called but maybe next time I do recommend this place Four stars for the buffet and five to the server Vera

Barb Beezley

Nice size casino Mostly Dollar machines anymore Even the Penny Slots cost almost a dollar a pull

Hate that Definitely needs more waitresses The ONE we did see was running her butt off, and we never saw her againThe rooms are spacious and furnished nicely The bed was comfyGuest Services and the Valet were extra helpful and quick about it! Nicely doneFood is really good at the snack bar Wish they had better choices for breakfast

We had been on the road for a while as we are moving north with our two dogs We had not anticipated stopping on Joplin and had plans for a few more hours of travel But our kids had different plans and we called a few places and they weren’t very friendly

When I called here they were super nice and extremely helpful The lady helped get us a room and I’ve never stayed at a more pet friendly hotel The staff was amazing, kind, and very helpful I will be recommending TownPlace to all my pet traveling friends Thank y’all for a wonderful experience!

Valerie H

I love this location and stay here every time I travel through Joplin My one complaint is the squishy pillows that provide no support (seems to be the trend at many hotels these days though) Other than that, this is a fabulous hotel! The staff is spectacular

They have EV charging available and, since they knew we would be low on charge at arrival, they placed a cone and a reserved sign on one of them for me to be sure I had a place to plug the car in They are VERY pet friendly (only $25 for the dog for the entire stay) and have a decent sized indoor pool that is well maintainedOk, I do have a second issue- the free breakfast they provide was reheated frozen waffles and breakfast sandwiches this time I am assuming due to Covid, but it was pretty gross and definitely not the standard expected (or even experienced here in the past) We drove through McDonald’s the second day Still, I will absolutely stay here again thanks to the rock star service!

Chris Thurston

We stopped at this hotel at the halfway mark of our trip We were extremely tired and ready to get some sleep The front desk clerk was extremely helpful in getting our reservation fixed (wrong dates in the system) without any issues

The room on the other hand was an issueThe ottoman was extremely stained and there was mold all over the bathroom ceilingI would not recommend staying here to anyone and my family and I will not stay here in the futureWe were very disappointed, especially with this hotel being a Marriott chain

This was a wonderful experience! This motel is a beautifully restored set of buildings with attention to details that really puts you back into history There was a cute little radio playing as we entered our room, the towels all matched, the furniture was tastefully done For me cleanliness is huge so the sparkling clean sheets, floors, bathroom, shower, toilet were a real plus

The bathroom is all original looking tile too which was super fun The wood floors were a bit scratched (hey it’s an old building!) but clean and polished and you really felt like the owners took pride in their motel It is two sisters who took over when the building was crumbling away and they have set about putting it back to rights They have really done an amazing job and they are still working on it which makes it an ongoing restoration project Quite amazing place to stay not just for the experience of history but also just in general it was clean, well kept, attentive staff, and felt safe and valued as a customer We will for sure be back when we come through Carthage in the future

Jeff Ilardi

What a wonderful gem Beautiful and spacious rooms But Debbie, who checked us in was worth the stay alone

She told us all about the history of the Motel and then took us to our room and showed us around She even showed us how to work the AM radio in the room No TV, but you don’t need it So much to do and see in and around Carthage

M. L.

We’ve been going here for years, every time we pass through Missouri in the spring and summer I can’t say enough good things about this place and the staff So cool! I love everything, the radio in each room playing old music, the room prices, the neon etc

It’s an experience like stepping back in time I appreciate vintage buildings, cars and all that and this place is a dream come true

Very nice clean hotel, newer to the area They have kitchenette which is nice for the long stay Hot breakfast included every day, but was irritated when manual in the room says breakfast ends at 10

but they close it at 9 They provide the soap and fabric softener for the laundry facilities which are conveniently located in the same area as the gym This way you can work out during loads Pool was too cold, but the patio and grilling area are a nice amenity Front desk staff are very nice and helpful

Ramona Johnson

This hotel is nice! I had a king suite The front desk staff and friendly and helpful I was able to receive an early check-in and a late check-out

They have free breakfast Their pool is open until 10pm and the fitness room is open 24 hours There is no jacuzzi though and the pool is small I will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area!

This was our first trip to this location and the hotel was very convenient for our family attending a wedding nearby The staff members we encountered were very friendly The breakfast was nice and they even extended the time that breakfast was available

Very quaint and homey feel to this hotel However my reason for a 3-star is that when we were leaving and making sure we didn’t leave anything, I pulled the covers down on one of the beds and saw a large bed bug in the middle of the bed This was room 248 Please take care of keeping your rooms sanitized and you might want to consider a thorough pest control for all the rooms

This place has very friendly staff I felt like they were one happy family We arrived at 5:30am after driving for 18hrs straight and they understood our situation and extend our hours from having to leave at 11am to 2:30 pm

Which we desperately needed for some more hours of sleep While the rest of us went to go get breakfast, which was very good The rooms was what you can expect from a hotel that allows dogs at it’s prices There was 1 interesting thing that I couldn’t stop thinking about When we arrived there was a very weird smell throughout the hotel It smelled like the after math of cleaning after a smoker Which made no sense because the rooms are a no smoke rooms Then I saw it There was 1 hotel staff walking around inside smoking a cigarette Despite being super nice and energetic I feel like this habit of smoking casually around the hotel is leaving a negative impact It can simply be fixed by her smoking outside or a designated areas and then problem solved Other than that the hotel was a good experience

I called to get prices to park my RV for a week while family was visiting from Jersey They wanted 36500 for the week

I don’t know about you but I have never paid that much anywhere for a week in the RV Their price is based on double occupancy so if you have children you are charged extra per night, dogs extra, everything extra 🤷🏻‍♀️Rivers Bend Family RV Park on NN hwy is only 125 a week Full hook ups, no extra fee for children or pets Save money and check them out They also have a bar and grill on site and a band on SaturdaysThe food at at Rivers Bend is pretty good too😊

Peter Nagy

The people running this place are very friendly, prices are moderate It seems that many (or most) guests are long termers There are trees everywhere, so there is enough shade

There is just a single bathhouse for all clients The place is directly on a frequented road, so there is sometimes a considerable noise from trucks There’s no wifi; Verizon signal is only available at certain spots

I don’t often leave reviews, but this team has been amazing! From check in to breakfast and evening social, they’ve been great The hotel is under renovation, but it hasn’t impacted our stay at all The front desk was super accommodating when we checked in with two small children, making sure we’d be comfortable

The breakfast attendant clearly takes a lot of pride in her job and truly wants to take care of the guests Breakfast was a full hot breakfast still Evening social was great, we came toward the end and still had plenty of options to feel like we got to take advantage of the full social The team is clearly excited about the renovation and they should be- it looks fantastic from the last time we were here two years ago Great job at the Homewood Suites Joplin! We’ll be back!

We stay at A LOT of Hotels for baseball tournaments and work This hotel is TOP NOTCH! Extremely clean –from the rooms and the breakfast area, to the pool and fitness room We even saw one of the housekeepers cleaning the ELEVATOR! We asked for extra towels and they had them brought up in about 5 minutes

Extremely friendly and helpful front desk staff and the two ladies working the complimentary breakfast (which was very good and fresh) were very hard working and worked it more like a restaurant than a hotel breakfast Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again if we are in Joplin!

Check in went well the staff we very friendly and was there like Johnny on the spot to get me into my room when the door didn’t want to open I didn’t even have to go to the front desk from the 2nd floor she watched me on the camera struggling and came right up to use her master key to get me into the room The actual room itself appeared to be clean, bed was comfy and the shower took a smidge long to warm up it had great water pressure and appeared to be in good order

Easy on easy off to the freeway with ample spots to eat, gas up and get back on the road This will now be my go to hotel when passing through Joplin
