Beautiful hotel with a rich history from its previous history as a bank All of the decor and restoration of the building plays homage to its previous life Our bed was cushy and easy to fall asleep in

The bathroom was beautiful, serene, and there was no concern about it being unclean The receptionist made sure we had clearly explained access to the wifi password, meal times and locations, and rooftop access; she also made lovely restaurant recommendations! I went with a friend who had some physical disabilities and they accommodated her very well and we had easy access to handicapped accessible parking close to the front of the building

Greg Vaughn

Wonderful hotel right in downtown Gastonia Not too far from the intersecting highways and a small drive to Charlotte Douglas airport You own it to yourself to check out this remodeled bank! It maintains some of it originality while being comfortable and cozy

If you get the chance to be on the roof at sunrise or sunset it makes the stay worth it! Simple, quaint rooms with all the basic amenities Barrister’s on the main floor has a great burger and the breakfast in the lower floor is delicious

Katelyn Budke

My husband and I got married at Separk Mansion in May 2022 and reserved room blocks at the Esquire Hotel for ourselves and out of town guests We had the most amazing experience – Cody, Sarah, and the entire staff were all very welcoming, accommodating, and on top of everything From handing out 50 welcome bags to guests at check in to arranging a perfect rehearsal dinner and making sure our bridal party had everything we needed while we got ready in the bridal suite, I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough

DON’T STAY HERE!!! I checked in and within 30 minutes there was a drug deal and bust by cops, dogs in most of the rooms smoking inside and outside Drugs usage in rooms And broken and extremely dirty conditions

My first room had been broken in to and you could open the catch from the hallway They also refused to refund my money Stay at a Hyatt or Hilton if you can Holiday inn is becoming motel 6

Claudiann Atkinson

This is by far thee worse holiday inn that I have ever stayed in; and I’m a diamond elite IHG member The one star is for the staff at the front desk They were amazing

As far as the room goes I will never stay here again If it wasn’t so late I would check out right now Definitely going to ask them to go ahead and check us out later this morning The blinds in my room didn’t work so I had to use the first one to make sure we had pricey, the room overall was not really clean The tub was dirty inside and out The ceiling in the bathroom was peeling I can’t even imagine what my sister’s room looks like downstairs I know that she is at a lost for words at the state of it HIGHLY disappointed

Tina G

I’ve stayed in quite a few Holiday Inn Express and I would not recommend this location It’s not well maintained I stayed a week for business

It seems as if locals are living there There are always the same people hanging around the inside and outside if the Hotel I couldn’t use the laundry room because if not lights and the foul smell Only ice machine that worked was on first floor

Got a king room expecting it to be of decent size, but it was tiny Could use some updates The television was small

No table to eat at The first day we got there, it was drizzling and they closed the pool for the rest of the day (like 7 hours, after the skies were clear and no storms) Continental breakfast was okay, except they reuse food from the day before Biscuits were hard Omelettes were from the day before and still ice cold from the fridge, I’m sure But the bed was very comfortable Soft sheets and pillows Staff was courteous Good parking Back door access was extremely useful

Carolyn Rudd

This was my first stay at a Hampton Inn I was please with the staffing Reception was great

The house keepers were very pleasant and attentive to our needs The staff in the kitchen were neat and clean, friendly and attentive to our needsI have one complaint Our room had residual hair from the previous visitors in both the bathroom and in the bedroom ares There was also evidence of a pet that was in the room I am a stickler when it comes to cleaning That is a n issue for meWhen we come back next year, I hope that this will not be a concern Hint hint, we will be back

Kevin Becatti

Staff was welcoming and always greeted as we walked by The breakfast was clearly bulk hotel food but was way better than others I’ve had The room we got had a king size bed and was clean

Towards the end of our stay we noticed ants in the room and elevator It was nothing that I felt the need to complain about but only reason for a 4 star The gym was clean and had all the equipment anyone would need I will be back for sure

The staff are pleasant but the hotel is worn and needs a refresh in the lobby and the rooms We had the unfortunate experience of having our toilet overflow, even though we indicated it wasn’t working properly the day before Surprised that the bathroom was not cleaned after the repair, we came home to a tub full of towels used to capture the toilet water after repair

We again requested to have the bathroom cleaned and were told the staff had gone home for the day that they would provide cleaning supplies for me if I wanted to clean it Totally frustrated, I called Marriott Customer Service and opened a case I pressed the front desk and they called the local manager We checked out a few hours later The manager called to apologize and offer a small creditHe was pleasant, but being asked to clean was outrageous I realize things break but when a customer tells you the toilet isn’t working, it saves a lot of money and frustration to fix it correctly the first time In a two night visit we had 3 attempts on the toilet repair If the location is what you need, try the Hampton Inn across the street, we visited friends staying there and found that hotel to be nicer than ours

K9 Fit Bootcamp

I was in town for a dog training client in the Gastonia area The hotel is perfect spot for food and not far from Charlotte The check in process was easy and quick

Our room was clean and the bottled water came in perfect that was left in our room Everyone we encountered that works there is so friendly and nice Thanks for a great stay! The whirlpool was AMAZING!

C & D Auto Exchange

Stayed two nights August 10 and August 11 Room was clean but smelled musty

Staff was courteous and switched to us to a better room The evening of August 11 someone pulled the fire alarm at 330 am and the entire hotel stayed outside for about an hour waiting for fire alarms to be shut down by fire department Horrible Then about 7 am hotel staff entered my room with out knocking or announcing themselves Freaked out by this So I of course latched the door Then at 8 am someone from the staff tried to enter once again Yes the latched worked!! I guess the phones don’t work where they can call to see if the rooms are empty Ridiculous Obviously went to the front desk staff that morning and they agreed to credit half my stay Which I agreed since I stayed two nights and the last night was disturbed by an individual that decided to pull the fire alarm and their in welcomed staff But wait What they meant was they were crediting my card for half that night stay I found this out after I left and confirm the amount Not happy and not the best area to stay Will not return

Not recommended for families nor elderly people to stay here It was a last minute booking for my birthday weekend I loved everything in NC but this place was the only one that ruined my expectations

I was on room 104, good location overall You will get what you pay for Rude staff (minus the breakfast lady she was awesome), unclean rooms, a lot of humidity, old and stained towels and sheets, smelly pillows, dirty floors About front desk Sam, For the check in they almost cancelled my reservation even tho all the card information was right, he just called me to cancel the room if I don’t get there in a certain time Horrible I was scared of where we were going to stay I was trying to get new towels and pillows, he made me feel like I was going to steel them (we just went to Walmart and got them), also they were knocking at the door at 11:30 for check out (which is at 12) and even tho we were taking out our stuff he came to us asking when we were leaving!? Super rude not bedside manner hotel wise They don’t do room service if you need something you have to walk over there Hotels are supposed to make you feel like home But the price was the best for my last minute booking

I was apprehensive to stay at this location with all of the bad reviews as of lateI’m glad we stayedIs it the most modern hotel? No

Is it 100% sparkling clean? No, but neither is my living roomWhat it was? Overall clean and comfortable with INCREDIBLY courteous staff – from front desk to grounds and housekeepers, every person we interacted with was always friendly and helpful (and had some pretty good senses of humor too)That will make up for any minor flaws 99 times out of 100 in my bookWe will stay here again on our next visit

Mitchell Everett

For all that is holy, do not stay here I booked two nights in a “non-smoking” room The smell was so bad I could not sleep

Also, they allow homeless personnel to stay in the breezeways of the hotel and they were present during my stay right around the corner of my room I don’t have anything against them, but it added to the uncomfortable feeling of being there The walkways are painted concrete and do not have a non-skid texture on them I almost slipped and fell every time I left the room I also read a review where an elderly woman slipped and injured herself, and ultimately the staff laughed at her when she reported the instance I did not sleep and checked out early due to not being able to sleep with the intense smell of cigarette smoke and cheap air freshener I asked if I would receive any refund for the second night and they replied no because I booked the room through a third party I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone under any circumstances I guarantee you will be better off sleeping in your car

My husband, sisters and I had the pleasure of spending Valentine’s day at this little gem I’ve visited many b&b and by far this on was the best We were greeted by Pam the innkeeper

Her spirit was so inviting it will warm you soul before you walk in And did I mention she can cook!!!! The house itself has so much history and sex appeal I loved that I felt right at home Melanie the owner greeted us in the morning with a smile I could see even though she was wearing a mask From the moment I spoke with her on the phone weeks before our stay she went out her way to make sure it would be a stay we would remember I really wish I had more time to enjoy the house no worries there because we will be back Thanks for reminding me there is still goodness in the world

My air conditioning went out at my home in mid July So I had to find a cool place to stay and get remote work done I needed reasonable price, simplicity, cleanliness, quiet, and cool air

I got all I needed I stayed in my room for the majority of the 3 days and got lots of work done I also had 2 doctor appointments, so the location near the hospital was perfect Front desk was incredible (thank you Tasha!) She hooked me up with the bonus rewards plan (that costs nothing to apply) and got a great discount on my stay, and future stays across the country

I paid $156, a bit much for what I got Room was clean Shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower we’re completely empty

The standard holiday inn breakfast is pretty basic The heat/ac unit in the room wasn’t functional Room was almost 80 degrees, but thermostat was set on 60 and cool and unit was still blowing hot air Does have a guest laundry which was a nice feature

Airborne Trucker

Average at best,3 stars for the semi truck parking Checked in around midnight and the lady seemed to be annoyed with us Stayed on the 3rd floor, which smelled like smoke

The room didn’t smell like smoke thank God! Hotel needs a real good deep cleaning If you want the hot breakfast go before 9am Most items were out at 845 Only way I would stay here again is if I had no other options Semi truck parking parking for about 4 trucks (gravel lot , easy turn around)

david isom

Staff was friendly, unfortunately the stay was not great The r room smelled like a wet dog, which was mot likely a dirty ac, BUT during the night there was a kid running up and down the hall and to top it off some one in one of the rooms was vaping which carried to our room and Woke us up It was too strong of an odor to ignore

So we checked out although the did offer to change rooms but we didn’t to take a chance of it happening in another room
