Stayed here for a couple nights, everything was very nice other than the carpet in the room It is an older place, so understandable Great price, accommodations and service

The breakfast made to order was fantastic, and area is nice and quiet at night Wonderful to work with to check-in and check-out at inconvenient times Would definitely stay here again

What a gem! We were seeking the closest room but ended up somewhere amazing! Nestled near downtown, the Mt Vernon Inn is a destination itself The garden area is meticulously manicured and beautiful, the lavender smells so sweet and somehow there are no mosquitos

The room was very comfortable, the beds were plush, and the amenities were unbelievable My family had made to order breakfast while I continued having the best sleep for a month Burnt out on hotels, we’ve already started planning a vacation around coming back to this unusual oasis

We rented to cottage for 5 nights due to an unexpected death in our family From the time we checked in to the time we left we received Wonderful treatment They even left us flowers after learning of our loss

And the made to order breakfast was amazing, they had glutten free bread, which if you have celiac you know is huge Thank you for making a difficult time a little easier

My family had such a wonderful weekend here The kids stayed busy in the petting zoo and paddleboat and we were able to relax in a beautiful wooded atmosphere Lots of wildlife in the area to watch also

Laurie made an amazing breakfast for us and her chocolate covered strawberries were so good! We can’t wait to visit this fun little farm again!

I hosted a women’s retreat at Heartland We could not have had a more perfect place The rooms and beds were comfortable

We were able to use the entire kitchen to feed our guests They even prepped the fire pit for an evening with s’mores! They made sure our visit was comfortable and that we had everything we needed including wifi, enough parking, fans, space and more! Lastly I will say that we were very grateful to take advantage of the breakfast prepped by Heartland, it was absolutely yummy and an abundance of food to enjoy while we relaxed with our guests the last day of the retreat

It is a nice tucked away location set on a farm The buildings are small but the attraction is the old world charm and hospitality If you are looking for alot to do or bustling activity this is not the place for you but if you are looking for remote, quiet, and charming surroundings you will love it here

If you are looking for a unique diamond in the rough Rustic Knolls Campsites sets the bar! The customer service provided by Campmaster Frank is unbeatable! This place is the epitome of a family friendly environment If you have a chance, get on their website and book your stay to correlate with one of the campgrounds planned activities We were here for the water fight and it was incredible

I would highly recommend the cabins for anyone like us that likes camping in a bed, my family of 5 had plenty of room and they are stocked with the essentials plus a gas grill!! We will definitely makes the pilgrimage from Michigan again

Tabitha Price

We definitely enjoy this campground Everyone is friendly, including camp master Frank contrary to some of these reviews He’s actually really nice as long as you FOLLOW THE RULES, which isn’t hard at all considering other campgrounds where you can’t even spit sideways without getting yelled at

The only thing I would change is the primitive camping prices, WOW, I could’ve pulled my mother in laws camper down for that price! In total we spent $80 for 2 tents and only 3 people on the site

Peggy Tasker

First time camping here and it was fun Despite that the storm took out the electric, we made the best of it Faith, she checked us in was wonderful

Gave us the details about the campground activities, services they provided What a nice gal! Besides delivery of our firewood, they provided water Even a free breakfast on Sunday morning We did primitive camp so the delivery of our wood was great Thank you Faith & staff for your kindness in making our first visit an enjoyable and fun place to camp We’ll be back!!

Stayed one night Room was very comfortable and clean Staff was very nice

On this stay, I didn’t use the exercise room It was small, but above average for this size hotel I didn’t use the pool, but some families seem to enjoy itBreakfast was standard for Holiday Inn Express and above average for hotels this size Lots of options to choose fromParking lot was adequate, but small if you have a bus or towing a trailerRestaurant next door and a number of stores and restaurants within a 10 minute walk

Kim Hilt

Samantha at the front desk was very friendlyThe room was small but niceWe were on a couple getaway on our motorcycles and specifically choose this hotel because of the heated pool

Verified at check-in that the pool was open After dinner we come back to relax and swim and It was COLD We were told Maintenance was called and it would not be turned up Very disappointing😔

Went with four couples and sat outside on the patio We all had the prix fixe paired with wines and each course was outstanding It was easily the best dining experience I’ve had in Knox County since I moved here in 2012

They servers, chef, and manager provided great service and accommodated some special needs for the table with an extra touch Highly recommend!

My girlfriend and I purchased a Special Gift Certificate for a one night stay and dinner or lunch for two through a Ronald McDonald House silent auction and were looking forward to a weekend getaway at the Kenyon Inn We purchased the certificate only a few months ago and it expires on August 1st, so we tried to book our night towards the end of July but were told that they have filled the rooms with students for the rest of the summer No big deal, we were willing to wait and book out when they eventually do have vacancy

Unfortunately, we spoke with the manager of the Kenyon Inn and were told that they will not book our night or honor our certificate outside of the free meal, and that we should have booked sooner when they might have had some vacancy After some pushing with them they said they would give us an extra meal at their restaurant, but that kind of defeats the purpose of why we bid on the certificate in the first place (and really isn’t equivalent to what the certificate entitled us to, anyway) We live over an hour away and would rather not drive there on two separate occasions just to have dinnerAll in all we were very disappointed in our interaction with the Kenyon Inn and the manager The manager was very rude with us about the situation, who raised his voice with us while telling us that he was not going to honor the certificate that their business had donated to the charity At the end of the day, I don’t regret giving my money to the Ronald McDonald House (an awesome charity) but wish that this situation would have been handled differently It’s not on us that the Kenyon Inn was booked out to students for the entire summer, and there is an obvious solution to extend the certificate out when it would be possible for us to book a night We love exploring and supporting small businesses but we think it is important to support small businesses which have integrity and call out the businesses that are willing to grift their potential patrons out of what might have been a couple hundred bucks If we ever find ourselves in the Mt Vernon area, we will likely just stay at The Mount Vernon Grand Hotel (or even the Holiday Inn) instead

Our most recent visit was extremely disappointing Upon being sat at our table, we were handed prix fixe menus which not all of the table wanted When we asked for the regular menus, we were informed that the whole table needed to choose from one menu or the other, but we could not use both

We waited an over an hour and a half, and still had not been served our meals The servers bustled around us, ignoring the table’s lack of foodWhen the food finally arrived, it was luke warm After the maitre de heard our complaints, and brought out desserts and sweet wine, without our request There was no offer of compensation reflected in the billAlso, we made reservations and there appeared to be adequate staffingSadly, after our many years of patronage, this restaurant is off our dining list
