The hotel is nice and super clean There’s no breakfast included with any room but there’s a Starbucks in the hotel which is really convenientParking is free and generally no issues to find a spot

The pool is nice and clean, 5ft max depthWiFi is free for basic and there’s an available option for paid premiumThe rooms are quiet and the mattresses are the most comfortable mattress we had during our tripThe cable options are pretty basic and much more dated than what you’d find at a Springhill Suites for instance

krizhia roxas

We’ve been here for an hour now Once we opened the room, it smells like cigarette I didn’t complain and just opened the sliding doors and let the air circulate

Now, I’ve noticed there’s a used wingstop cup under the table Called front desk Frontdesk said the room has been cleaned and housekeeping probably just didn’t see the cup Aren’t they supposed to clean the WHOLE ROOM especially since we’re living in a pandemic? The front desk didn’t offer a resolution, probably cause I didn’t ask for a room change Or maybe I should really complain before we get better service? Not gonna stay here again after this

Dwight Osteen

They don’t clean the rooms They tell you that if you ask for it to happen every day they will do it I was there 4 nights, requested fresh towels and cleaning every night

They never came Also upon my arrival there was a dirty wash cloth in the middle of the room floor Staff was nice enough even if they didn’t do what they said

Stayed here in early August Extra clean room Had everything we needed

The lobby coffee in the morning was quite good Easily walkable to the beach, restaurants and nightlife John and Latana were very nice and welcoming Parking was included in the room rate, as it really should be everywhere but it’s usually a ridiculous up-charge Will definitely stay here again

Larissa Batrakova

We were literally put out on the street because we asked for clean towels!! Extremely not clean !!!!Let’s talk about a hotel that wants an extra $50 cleaning fee for my emotional support dog As soon as we arrived, the woman at the reception neglected us as much as she could Yes, I understand that you are alone on shift, but when you talk to us and in the middle of a conversation you slam the window in our face (3 times! ) this is overkill

She just decided that answering the phone and chatting on the phone was more important than us We couldn’t get into the room for 20 minutes And after that she refused to let us in because of the dog This is an pet-friendly hotel!!! This has never happened to me before! I understand that if my dog(corgi) suddenly does something (which has never happened, and we travel constantly), then I will pay But paying for cleaning, which is not there, is ridiculous She said that I could not pay if I quote “I would be in a wheelchair”!!! The room is terribly dirty (photo attached), there are a lot of dead insects on the floor and live spiders everywhere One spider was sitting right on the towel! And all the towels are stained! (Photo attached) when my husband asked for new towels, he was given even dirtier ones!!! And the manager and that woman laughed and said, “maybe you need a new hotel” Unacceptable! And they kicked us out!!! Because they don‘t have clean towels!!!

Igor Kubrak

Got kicked out from hotel today, never experienced something like that before First of all there was a rude lady on the front desk which was keep closing registration window in the front of our faces when someone called here or she needed to grab something Then she wanted to charge us for emotional support animal while it’s pet friendly hotel only because she can “legally” do it

We have stayed over in 80+ hotels around the states and no one even said a word about an additional fee for ESA But didn’t really have a chance to discuss it because got kicked out after requesting a new clean towels, because those in a room were not actually clean They (now it’s front desk lady and manager) brought a new set and asked to check it right away It had orange/brown stains so I asked to replace it again Lady just laughed in my face and said that it would be better for us to change hotel It was already enough But a man brought us a new set again and gave it to me, but lady interrupted him and said that we need to go All these times they talked down to usBad customer service and absolutely unprofessional We only tried to solve the problem in normal way but got insulted Do not stay here

Avoid at all costMy wife and I travel frequently and this is one of the worst ran hotels we have stayed at No covered parking, no fridge in room, room smelled moldy, stained sheets and bathtub

Reserved corner room with outside view, received middle room with courtyard view Restaurant had no hostess for dinner service The bartender told us to seat ourselves after we waited about 15 minutes, then showed up at out table with a single page laminated menu that looked like it had been chewed on by a puppy We left We tried again in the morning for the continental breakfast and again, no hostess Sat ourselves and began eating from a decent buffet Nothing better than a Hampton Inn in Arizona, so we thought it was the continental breakfast We left and were chased down in the parking lot with a $30 bill for breakfast (only one of us ate) that we thought was complimentary We never knew we were being charged I went back inside to inquire with the restaurant manager and he shooed me away without explanation Also, no receipt on checkout I asked for one and got a $20 receipt for the parking When I asked for a receipt of the hotel stay they were unable to provide one Not a bad facility, but the hotel manager’s absence or lack of experience is readily apparent You vote with your dollar Please do not support this inferior product when there are so many other choices Have a great trip

First of all, this hotel has a very nice restaurant with outstanding staff Food and beverages aren’t too expensive either The Pool Area is nice too, just like the facilities in general

Every common area is being kept nice and cleanOn the downside, there were some problems in our room, a clogged sink, water coming up from the drain as well as a broken AC during the first days of our stay Reception staff was always friendly and willing to help, still, the plumbing issues weren’t fixed during our five-night stayOverall, I would recommend to take a close look at other reviews before booking

Rich Paxton

Very friendly and helpful staff Of course, tasty cookies (if they have them) Mosaic restaurant has a great bar and delicious food

However, this facility is showing its age The rooms are definitely dated: the carpet “baseboards” pulling away from the wall, closet doors that are VERY difficult to open, outlets near the bed that don’t function and a “pool view” that requires you to stand on the couch and look over the protruding exterior to even see Ice machines were broken on floors 3 and 2, as well as the machine behind the front desk The two elevators sound like they’re about to collapse that’s if you can wait long enough for them to arrive (or you can get the buttons to work) Even the signs directing you to use the stairs in an emergency are missing lettersI realize the economy is in the dumps, but Hilton should really invest in this building It’s a great location and the staff are wonderfulbut at the end of the day, it’s not up to standards

Savvy Exploring

Bed was pretty comfy, a bit of a ridge worn in the middle, but not bad We were there for 4 days and my husband worked form the hotel room for 2 of those You are not really close to much but there are sidewalks everywhere and a plaza with a bunch of restaurants and a grocery store is within a 15 minute walk

The beach is also walking distance, although a little far There are some nice trails for walking or running nearby Breakfast was fine and the fresh blueberries were nice

Sheyla Menzie

My stay was short (1 day) However, we had an excellent experience Breakfast was great! Hotel very pleasant and clean

My room was clean Although, the bathroom door was making noise and so everytime someone went inside the restroom, I was awaken by the noise I found street parking so, I didn’t have to pay the $12 parking fee Just lucky but honestly, there isn’t parking for every guest I am not sure why parking is not free and has a fee Receptionist was very welcoming Everyone’s expectations are different I am glad I gave this hotel a try I would stay here again and would recommend it to others It is 18 min away from Sea World and Old Town San Diego Five minutes from a shopping center Quiet area Adjacent to other hotels Small pool area but very clean Very clean and pleasant small gym Lobby well taken care Kudos to the cleaning crew, cooks and receptionist I enjoyed my time here My teens loved it too They talked about how relaxing their stay was on our way home Thank you!

Kathryn Everett

I give this hotel an overall of 2 stars one because my daughter and I got food poisoning from the continental breakfast and when I brought it to the managers attention she acted like it was impossible to get food poisoning from them I am pretty positive it was since my daughter and I ate the same thing the day we got sick I sure my daughter food poisoning on a previous day but I didn’t put two and two together since we didn’t eat the same thing that day

So pretty much 2 days of our vacation was ruined Another reason is when I checked out the lady at the front counter was being extremely difficult about letting me know what my total charge was going to be I don’t know about anyone else but I think customer service makes the business and this place not only didn’t care we got food poisoning from them but made my check out unpleasant as well I will never stay at this location again and since I’m not from the area I also made family aware that live in the area to make sure when giving hotel recommendations to tell people to not stay here it’s definitely probably worth paying more to stay somewhere else

First of all, i was surprised by the cleanliness level as many reviewers gave high score for this The room i got was not up-to expectations as it was not very clean The smell of the room was like old motel on highway

Second, the condition of the bedroom mattress was horrible Looks like it is 20 years old I could not sleep well You will feel like sleeping in bath tubLast, although the rooms has a balcony, the room i got was facing a wall which was really annoying I talked to the front desk during the check in to change my room but they said it was the only available one which i don’t believeDefinitely will never come back

This surpassed my expectations About a 2 block walk to the beach Great area

We had a group of 16 teenagers and they were so accommodating and gracious The set up for groups is perfect with an outdoor fireplace that is right out in front of the Starbucks where breakfast is served poolside They also have a bar and a grass area for games It was extremely family friendly and the front desk had the most friendly staff I’ve ever experienced in a hotel The cleanliness was great and my room was spacious When I come back to San Diego I will be staying here with my family Thanks for being awesome hosts!!!

John Gillespie

Cute little hotel with a great layout (pool/bistro in center courtyard) I requested a quiet room and was not disappointed Room 249 overlooking the residential neighborhood to the west was outstanding for a peaceful night sleep 😴 🙂

Even with the enhanced quiet, it was still only a 30 second walk to the pool!Only knock is the room showed its age, and the A/C started off pushing hot air Had to wait an hour for engineering to show up

David R.

This is a nice hotel with a great pool and spa and restaurant for breakfast and a dinner/snack (see my pictures) All the staff were soooo friendly I always say it starts at the top, the Manager must be a very nice person who treats his staff well

A special thanks to Vito with housekeeping for caring so much and being quick with requests All the staff in the bistro were great (try the iced tea) We’ll be back next year

We are on a road trip across the states and book hotels along the way Reading the reviews have been very helpful so would like to pass on that this hotel was great Clean, good fitness room with up to date machines, perfect positioning and great staff

The young men at the desk were very helpful and Tina Young was a joy to chat to early this morning, and very helpful Would stay again if we passed through again

Indian Nectar

The hotel is currently under covid protocols meaning that they do not clean and replenish the room on a daily basis This meant that we had to call the House Keeping dept for towels, soaps, coffee, creamer, etc However, these failed to show up even after repeated requests

I even approached the front desk and made an in-person request to ensure that we were supplied with new set of towers, soaps and coffee supplies but this too failed to have any effect I finally had to approach a room cleaner lady who was cleaning a room that was just vacated by a guest who had checked out, and I convinced her to help us and provide with what we needed This is absolutely the worst hotel experience we have had in a long time and certainly not what you expect from a Hilton We paid premium $$ for our stay (approx $1300 for 4 nights) but didn’t look like it was worth it when it came to the service Hasta La Vista Hilton, never again are we staying with you

Francisco Arias

Let me begin that for the most part the staff was friendly With that said there were a couple of issues I checked in and was given keys to someone else room, which nearly led to a confrontation with guest

After that was settled, I was given a room with no soap in restroom I made the discovery as I was rushing to get ready for my am meeting Not cool Breakfast was OK but you have to be there early to avoid the vacationing families

The location is great, easy walk to restaurants, entertainment and the CoasterThe complimentary breakfast was well stockedWe were upgraded to a suite which we appreciated

Beds were comfy and good pillow optionsTime to do a little remodeling though Carpet is looking a little tired Maybe spruce up the paint and wallpaper Both the bathroom sink and shower were very slow to drain

Neni Si

Checked in to room 203 today Room had a musty smell as I entered I walked over to the balcony to open it up to air it out and that’s when I noticed the curtain has red/brownish stains on it

I then started to look around the window curtains and noticed more red stains that looks like dried blood stains The refrigerator wasn’t working but maintenance took care of that The bathroom has mold on the ceiling and the bathtub has a permanent filthy stain with deep cracks that you could stick a tooth pick through; seriously needs replacement I called down to the front desk and spoke with Jessica about my room and asked when was the last time this room was rented out because this room is dusty and disgusting I asked to change rooms and she said due to the room type I had and because I prepaid through third party, she wouldn’t be able to change roomsPoor service and very disappointed!See my Yelp review for photos:Leomaakia789

Shout out to Karen and Benito, at the front desk, who were very professional, accommodating, and welcoming And Santana is the best bartender ever, he made amazing cocktails Tell him what you like and he will create a delightful surprise for you Great energy hereLocation walking distance to restaurants and del Mar beach, can’t be beat

Great spot in Del Mar near the cliffsRooms are clean, spacious, and different in layout than a standard room Staff were friendly and helpful

We did not have a view of the water from our room however the bar area was bright, airy and had views Did not use pool as it rained the night we stayed

N S

Overall the hotel is very pretty and quiet The location is super close to the town, although the beach is a somewhat far walk away Design-wise, I love the colors and the landscaping! My only complaint is the cleaning crew is a little awkward and they don’t take care of the elevators or common spaces

The floor in our room also could have used a mopping Great on-site restaurant though 🙂

This hotel was awesome! We stayed there for one week while we’re in town for a wedding All the staff were exceptionally friendly, very helpful and prompt with any of our needs Room was very clean and loved having the extra space with the living room

The kitchen helped us tremendously, since we ate many of our meals in our room Highly recommend this hotel! You won’t be disappointed!😊

Emil Evans

The appliances in the room are pretty dated They have a lot of wear and tear on them There were random stains (rust spots?) on the shower rod refrigerator

The hallway smelled musty up on the fourth floor near my room The gym was also pretty small and disappointing; only dumbbells, medicine ball, treadmill and elliptical Breakfast started at 630 during the week instead of 6, so I was unable to visit most of the days during my stay The days I did go, breakfast was very lackluster; runny eggs and sausage were the highlights The worst part was that this Homewood Suites was no longer serving beer and wine for their evening reception The desk staff said it was due to covid Not sure if it’s true considering the embassy suites downtown resumed their happy hour service when I stayed a few months ago

Corey Fayne

We were in desperate need of a place to stay We were able to book a room online in the afternoon for a Friday night stay It seems we got the last room

We did stay at a Hilton in Florida a few years ago and swore never to give another Hilton any more of my money Desperation made me do it, and I am glad things worked out the way they didThis Hilton was clean and so very comfortable When they said there was a breakfast included I was picturing small boxes of cereal and maybe a few muffins, but there were actual eggs, bagels, potatoesREAL breakfast stuff! This Hilton has turned my opinion of the chain around Clean, comfortable and the staff was very fiendlyGreat job

I was pleasantly surprised to see a larger room than most I utilized the TV tray and sofa It came equipped with a larger refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine which were all greatly appreciated

The king bed was comfortable along with feather pillows that will send you off to dreamland The bathroom was clean, the same for the entire room and the washbasin was ergonomically easy on my back One could spend an hour in the shower with all that room! With motion light detectors, you don’t have to get up to turn the lights on! Just wave an arm Breakfast was amazing! And the ladies in the kitchen made sure you had everything you needed They were great! Kindness goes a long way with meEven though the location is next to the freeway, it was so quiet inside you could hear a pin drop! Thank you Hampton Inn, I will be returning for another stay!

Nice front desk, lobby, and updated clean room

but the loudest squeakiest beds ever in room 108 Also, it seems like the ventilation isn’t working very well in our room – musty Again, the place looks like it’s been remodeled on the inside Oh, the jacuzzi needs new plaster – very rough edgesStaff is superb and the breakfast is as nice as anywhere else I’ve ate at HiltonSo the immediate vicinity is so so, but I really don’t know I would love to live around here – such an awesome beach vibe, so I can’t really say anything bad about the area well, the immediate surroundings seem run down but you are so close to spectacular beach communities – so, take that for what it is worth

Zee Alofaituli

Great location, 5 minutes west to the water Accomodations were clean and comfortable Two queen bed room could have used a bit more room to move around in

The hotel section where we were staying smelled strongly of cleaner or older air conditioning unit Breakfast spread was great Customer service by the front desk and breakfast crew were outstanding

Ended up booking a room here as it seemed to have decent reviews and decent location to my destinationLobby / Check In – At check in staff was nice and offered us a free water or soda, check in was simple and quick like most The lobby is small but has a nice touch to it with some of the decor and all, carpets were dirty but seen clean it that night

Rooms – Simple and clean, shower tub could use some love but other than it was a clean functioning room, very simple tooPool – They do say it’s heated but not warm enough in my opinion Other than that it can get packed and it’s a ok sizeParking – Plenty of parking in front or backBreakfast – Place is kept clean and stocked but selections are very minimalOverall it was an ok experience, nothing that stood out too much

The hotel has almost no maintenance, rooms with bad smell and rooms very old, almost falling apart, they were not clean either!! I contacted the front desk and the manager was rude, he shouldn’t be at the front desk, he didn’t like my complaints, but I was not the only one complaining, the rate was far from cheap, so they must provide much much better service, and give a much better care to rooms, they are dirty, they smell bad and almost falling apart!! The towels at the pool are a joke, very very small, it’s a Shame to see those high prices they charge for their rooms and they are not clean, they smell bad, they already are very very old, they need to be renewed and give them much much better mantainance, front desk attention and attitude is terrible 😔

We had the pleasure of staying here July 1-6, 2022 with several of our children and grandchildren and the property transformation is amazing We’ve been coming here for many years and the too numerous to list changes made this stay our best ever From the welcome champagne to the lobby’s coffee/latte/cappuccino machine, wine dispenser and very helpful and attentive staff we couldn’t have been happier

The completely renovated guest rooms feature ultra comfortable beds, an awesome shower with rain shower head, large screen TV, new AC system, vinyl plank flooring and more The outdoor patio area with teak furniture has direct beach access and ocean views My family and friends will definitely new coming back

I’m a Mobile Massage Therapist with Sea Breeze Massage and we go to a lot of hotel rooms It’s rare we have ample space for a couples massage in a standard room This Hotel was perfect! And the location was outstanding

walking distance to restaurants and bars and on the beach! I’ll definitely recommend to friends visiting from out of town

WowBrand new remodel just weeks oldEverything is new inside, bathrooms, furniture ,A/C, linens, no carpet floors and big screen TV’s if you can find time to watch TVThe beach is just a few steps from your room, a beautiful beach that is at least a mile long and very clean

Included with your room are beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, surf boards and towelsThe staff is very helpful and made us feel welcomeThere is no restaurants on the property but there are two right next door and plenty more just a few blocks a way, all within walking distanceMany stores and other businesses on the town’s Main Street Del Mar is just the right size not crazy busy like San Diego with 1/4 of the traffic

This hotel is in poor condition Needs a total renovation We could not wait to leave

We moved from the room we reserved because the bedsprings were broken Every turn would have kept us awake The electrical sockets were so loose that our charging devices would not stay in the outlets Second room: dirty wall paper from the 80s, cracked tile floors, old toilet with no pressure, shutter style bathroom sliding panels that needed a deep dusting/cleaning and a rotted wood hand rail that was duct taped to keep it from further rot leading up to the roof top deck, unbelievably The only thing this hotel had going for it was the location We were a block to the ocean and the roof top deck would have been more enjoyable if the chairs hadn’t been so broken I will say the cleaning women did their best considering the poor condition of this property Breakfast was packaged junk muffins that we did not touch We did not drink coffee either This was way overpriced for the condition and decay

My husband and I had to get away for the weekend, from the kids, family, and life, so we last minute booked our stay here, and loved that they allowed us a late checkout, as we arrived late Friday evening- and even though we arrived late, the Best Pizza restaurant was open for outdoor, under the heater eating and drinking amazing beers on tap, including some really good pizza! There was a choice of restaurants, all on that same intersection, which is just above the beach! We enjoyed the rooftop jacuzzi, and the incredible under-the-stars, beach view! This lodge is truly a lodge and feels like you stepped back in time as if you’re in a snow lodge, but they were very clean and professionalWe’ll do this again!

This is in a nice area with easy beach access The room itself was pretty terrible We stayed in the Paradise room, the theme is beachy which is cute but it smells musty and mildewed and the kicker was a sewage smell coming from the drain in front of the toilet in the bathroom

It permeated the entire room We finally covered it up with a towel which helped The bed was also terrible, broken springs and very squeaky, made it hard to sleep The rooftop area is also dangerous; there was a place on it when we were walking around that my boyfriend almost went through a part of it, when he turned to look at what happened he realized it was kind of blocked off-not enough to be obvious, no caution sign or tape I would not recommend this place-maybe some rooms are fine but I will never try this hotel again So many hotel options, this one needs some work

Hotel location was amazing and the views were great The rooms were clean but definitely need some renovation – it seems like it’s been a few decades since it’s been doneA few other things they could have been better:First is that the wifi is REALLY bad

I am a Diamond member and I had premium connectivity, yet I was still unable to get more than 2 devices working at a time and with reasonable speeds without it dropping all the time The front desk asked me to call AT&T when it’s supposed to be the hotel’s job to take care of it My particular room (Rooms 2070-2090) had absolutely no cell reception so I missed several important work calls as a result This is not necessarily the hotel’s fault but it’s something people should be aware ofThe second thing is the charges for room service I understand these extra charges are necessary but the bill I signed when the food was delivered was highly deceptive It already includes the service charge (22% which includes 18% tips for staff and 4% to the hotel) but there was another line on the receipt for “tips” which I mistakenly added another 18% This resulted in my food being an entire 40% higher than expected UnacceptableI’ve stayed in many Hilton hotels before and this was disappointing to say the least For the resort fees and high room rates, you would think that they could afford the occasional renovation

This hotel is a gem Conveniently located next to the Torrey Pines reserve, I couldn’t have picked a better place to spend my first night in San Diego Clean and modern rooms, amazingly comfortable beds and beautiful views of the golf course

Impeccable pool area and lush landscaping The staff was so helpful , responding to any questions i had via text so quickly 5 star in my book

Muruganandam Sankaran

Very Good location On the golf course and nice hikes around Bed was comfortable

Parking is very hard Even though you pay 35 $ per day most of the parking spots comfortably accommodates only compact car Any SUV is very difficult to park Lot of times the exit scanner didn’t work Many cars are stuck and long queue at least 2 days to get out of parking lotMany thread mills in fitness center didn’t work The machines look very outdated and needs maintenance

Grounds/pool area is beautiful and clean Breakfast area as well Opened a living room area for a meeting I had (closed b/c of covid, but opened for my meeting)

Loved walking into Del Mar Kitchenette useful Ocean view (but hotel is not close to beach If you walk straight down to the beach you run into the RR tracks and bluff Necessary to walk several blocks to the beach) Bed comfortable AC/Heater unit perfect Linens OK (could upgrade a bit) I would stay there again Good value for money We stayed 10 days Plenty of parking The staff always pleasant and helpful

DB Guy

Nice Best Western hotel, good place to stay overall Huge shower, clean rooms, very accommodating Mgr r& staff No free breakfast but has small restaurant on site

Parking is free Great location to explore Del Mar beaches and many restaurants If you chose the ocean view rooms ask for the top floor for nicer sunset views It has a nice pool too Look forward to returning

Charlie Baldwin

The room was clean, spacious, and quiet What more can someone ask for in this level of accommodations Beyond that to get five stars however I enjoyed the courtesy, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff

Pool and hot tub were clean, warm and not over chlorinated The restaurant was a great value, the coffee was good and fresh, and the food selection was just right for meThe only complaint I have was the television in the cafe was on the Republican propaganda network I would rather not start my day with grim and strong negative opinions

We just had yet another awesome stay at this wonderful property With 5 of us travelling (my wife and 3 children) we need a lot of room so we booked a two bedroom suite and it was perfect, with more than enough room and all the amenities you could want The staff was super friendly and professional and we really felt at home

A special shout out to the lady that runs the activity center and leads the morning hikes She was the greatest! My family really enjoyed some of the art activities that she offered and I was really impressed by her knowledge of the local flora and fauna as she pointed out various interesting bits of information as she led the morning nature hikes The food was great both at the Cove bar and when the wife and I wanted something a little more upscale the Restaurant at the Westin (which was only a two minute walk from our room) was fantastic I’d just like to thank the staff for making our stay so special and in particular Ms Megan Connor the GM who makes it all happen

James Deguzman

The rooms are nice and spacious The staff is what makes this place great The front desk personnel were nice and courteous and very accommodating

Our room was super clean by housekeeping upon arrival I also noticed the cleaning staff clean the bbq grills on a regular basis Events staff and employees around the pool area were all super friendly and helpful All the staff make this place an amazing place to stay

BB rEflecTion

Beautiful area, direct access to Lego land Easy trail to walk on Good pool side services

One of TV in our bedroom is broken on sound, but everything else in the room is fine There’s some construction going on but not bad on noise level ( To be fair, the screaming kids at the pool is the responsibility of the parents) This is one of good HGVC properties that actually care about the owners, compared to some others I had been Keep it up and we’ll be back!
