We should have taken a much closer look at these reviews before booking This place is honestly disgusting We stayed here 5 years ago and decided to go back because we loved it

Man has it gone downhill since then They’ve thrown bed sheets over torn apart couch cushions Stains all over all the carpets and mattress The walls in hallways and elevator are all scraped up with dents in them We were only able to get our hands on one extra pillow and unfitted sheets I’ve never given a one star review for a hotel before This one deserved it We are going to be driving full speed out of here tomorrow

Good for: Budget conscious college studentsBad for: If you make a decent incomeFor the price, I can’t really argue, but you’re getting what you paid for It’s cheaper than the hotels in the area and includes breakfast The breakfast isn’t self serve though, you have to request what you want from the breakfast lady and the selection isn’t great

Best thing there was the French toast and cerealMy biggest problem with this hotel is that it’s dirty Everything is carpeted and there are stains everywhere The elevators have heavy stains and the our room had this red stain by the beds Found a leftover goldfish on the floor At least the beds and the bathrooms were clean which mattered most This hotel just needs a renovation and replace all the flooring with stone tile or hardwoodAlso, the walls aren’t very thick, so you might hear some people clapping cheekstl;dr Better than your Motel 6 but not good as your other branches like Marriott or Hilton

Matthew Ainge

Rooms are of a good size Beds are comfortable and kitchen/bathroom facilities in the suites are well maintained Good covid measures in place making the communal areas clean and providing a good selection of breakfast options

Ideal location if you need to get to many of the business parks in the area as the main roads are nearby

Here at this hotel with a large wedding party Checked in without issue Staff were courteous

The rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious The entry is beautiful Decorative Complimentary breakfast which was tasteful Word to the wise though, there were two weddings, over 3 hockey/soccer teams of various ages their for a tournament, this hotel was ROWDY But such is life, we enjoyed ourselves overall The kids running and screaming the halls were annoying, but that’s the parents fault This hotel did the trick

This hotel is very clean and the room is great because it’s like a little apartment with a living room and a bedroom I have to especially acknowledge Anissa who was very kind, friendly and professional You can tell this hotel puts a lot of effort into who they hire

There is also another very young guy who has checked me in before who was also very friendly and professional but I can’t remember his name at the moment This is actually my favorite hotel in Waltham!

As a fan of the Embassy Suites brand, our stay at the Waltham, MA property was a surprising disappointment The first disappointment was finding out that overnight parking carries a fee (not valet, not garage, not gated, not secure – just property parking lot) I don’t like surprise fees that carry no benefit as a customer

Next, 2 of the 3 elevators were not working during our two night stay With 8 floors, this made for long waits for elevators (especially with large school groups playing games with the buttons) Unfortunately, the fire/stairwells for this property are not really conducive for use They are not maintained (unfinished) for normal use, they are inconvenient and in order to access the lobby, you must exit at the second floor and then utilize the mezzanine stairs in the middle of the hotel (by the non-working elevators) Next, our son was using the pull out couch in our suite , and while it had sheets and a pillow in the closet, there was no blanket I went to the front desk to ask and was told they were out, but that they could give us a “couple extra sheets”Also of note, front desk staffing was never at the desk (except for our arrival at noon) Every time I went to the desk,it was empty, no bell, and a couple times I grew tired of waiting and just left (despite the camera in the corner which I assume has a monitor in the back room)There are lots of other hotels in the area The likelihood of us choosing the Waltham, MA – Embassy Suites again is low As other have said, the breakfast is apparently a highlight of the property While we did not utilize the breakfast, another guest in our party that arrived a day earlier was very happy with the breakfast

This is a good little hotel Lobby has a great bar Staff is super friendly

My last room didn’t smell quite right – I think there was a smoker in it before me and they used excessive products to cover it up Not their fault, it was freezing out, and I understand why some folks wouldn’t want to go all the way down to the lobby to puff Free pool table is the best benefit of this place

Sophie Herbert Slater

We stayed here for a night while traveling The beds are nice and comfortable The entire hotel, however, stunk of ammonia and other chemical cleaning fragrances

Despite this, nothing in the lobby or elevators seemed particularly clean Even the shower body wash stank like multiple sticks of men’s deodorant If you are at all sensitive to chemical fragrance, this is not the hotel for you! Also, you can ask the nice person in the kitchen for half and half They only provide artificial creamers for the complimentary coffee

Amit Dhar

I requested for housekeeping when I checked in and followed up on that ask the following day I am staying here for 4 nights, out of which 3 nights have passed and no housekeeping has been performed so far This place is not even meeting table stakes of hospitality

One might be better off staying at a roadside inn At least you would not have any expectations from those places

I have stayed at the Burlington MA residence Inn before and had a good stay This time we left and got right on the highway not realizing we forgot my daughters white stuffed animal bunny she sleeps with This was passed down from my wife so had some sentimental value

We called and hoped for the best that it would be found and shipped back to us They called us to let us know it was found and gave us the information to have it shipped back to us We we relieved to say the least Then the package arrived for my daughter with the bunny, a note from the staff, and pictures of the bunny working at the desk and answering calls while it stayed at the hotel until it made it back to us They even created a name tag named “bunny” for the pictures Made an awful experience for my daughter a wonderful experience that we will always remember We saved this and will give to her when she gets older Such a great gesture to go out of their way to make a great experience I will absolutely be returning and I hope others give this place a try as well You will not be disappointed!! Thank you Residence Inn staff!!!

Ryan Perullo

Stayed for three nights with my wife and daughter Clean room, housekeeping was excellent 1 day and OK the other, but nothing really major Had some bad experiences in the past so I did a thorough check of the room and there was no signs of any pests

My only complaint is that was the smallest “king” bed I have ever seen Also staff was very nice I will be back

Aubrey Field

We had a great stay here at the residence inn We came for the Boston marathon (my husband ran in it) and we loved being close enough to the city to make travel quick but far enough that it was a break from the contast chaos For the marathon it was a quick drive to Anderson station and we took the trains in from the

Highly recommend it The room had everything we needed and the staff was wonderful They even had a care package for us after the marathon If we ever come back we will stay here for sure!

Are group had two rooms and we enjoyed a comfortable stay The rooms were clean & decently sized, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast was complementary & delicious I think that these are the most important items to making a great hotel

These items alon The only only two drawbacks we’re that the pool wasn’t that warm and the free coffee and hot water weren’t that hot

Clarissa

Good location nice big rooms Though the housekeeping in my opinion isn’t the greatest I got to my room right after check in and as soon as I was breaking down the bed sheets I saw make up stains and old drool stains also in between the pillows there was long strands of hairAfter calling 6 times to the front desk and messaging on the app I finally got clean sheets and pillows BUT house keeping just handed it to me and left me to change out the sheets/pillow cases

Also, there was a facial hair in one of my hand towelsI asked for another room and was told no Marriott is huge on cleanliness since the pandemic but I didn’t see that in my case

A Cool Breeze

Okay let’s start It is a newer Hotel But the location and details are very Bad

Listen to me do not get a room on the Highway side Ask at the front desk first You will get no sleep, because the Marriott Corporation went cheap and did not Soundproof that side of the Building You will hear the busy Highway all day and all night You will get not sleep Now for Breakfast, if you ever had breakfast on a Tour Bus or a cheap Airline, you will enjoy breakfast there Prepackaged Breakfast Sandwiches and Cold Coffee Also, the Coffee all three days was warm to cold And in these days of Covid the air filter in the room hadn’t been changed in two years! And if you wanted to go outside to have a conversation or read a book, you may as well been reading it on the Highway itself My final advice is to stay someplace else You have been warned

The actual hotel was lovely, the room was clean, the staff was amazing But DO NOT eat or drink at this hotel One of the night desk employees went on and on about how amazing the breakfast was, online it said it was 20 a person

My family was on board to try it We got there at 830, on the weekends they open at 8 The food was BARELY warm It was powered eggs, bacon, sausage and some potatoes The pastries were are frozen and thawed The “chef special” was perhaps the grilled zucchini? It was a pitiful breakfast spread The coffee literally assaulted my mouth it was so burnt and bitter Than the second pot was a watery mess They brought us the bill and it was 31 bucks an adult and 10 for my 6 year old I spent 100 bucks on a breakfast spread that was no better than the free breakfast at a comfort inn And the wine prices?! Holy hell 2 glasses of wine cost over 55 dollars! And we didn’t get super fancy wine I looked up the prices on both and I basically paid for the price of the bottle with one glass Not worth the money I literally bought a 1299 for a bottle of wine that tasted just as good Great hotel, horrible pricing on mediocre food

Jessica Bailey

I booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool and hot tub While the room was as expected, bed comfortable

the pool left MUCH to be desired Bottom line, it was gross The pool water was brown legit brown Not to mention the yellow scum-line The hot tub was the same but be sure to add the floating hair balls and no joke, large sand/dirt granules covering the bottom As if it has never been vacuumed So disgusted and disappointed! All that said, the pool gets 0 stars (negative if that were possible) but the front desk staff were very nice, helpful at check in Oh, and paying almost $50/night for parking on top of the room charge is ABSOLUTE RIDICULOUS!! If I wanted to get real petty, I could also mentioned that the TV had no guide so you have to click into each channel to see what’s on Ugh Probably will NOT stay here again sure I can find something better than this in BostonI do not recommend this hotel if you are interested in the pool area

Nik Rama

I absolutely love this hotel in Boston Staff are extremely helpful, and rooms and amenities are kept pristine The food served in the restaurant is excellent, and we grabbed several pizzas from there throughout our stay

Next to the check in area, there is a great place for cold food and snacks as well as a professional coffee machine Hilton diamond members get $18 credits per person per day for up to two people This means you are able to use your credit on any snacks or restaurant foodI really like that they have an indoor pool which is excellent and a pretty good sizeThey have four elevators that are really fast, and the close and open door buttons are extremely responsive The elevators have glass windows pointing inwards so that you could see the entire hotel as you go up and downOne of the best parts is that they have a free shuttle bus every hour that will take you to certain locations This is excellent if you need to be dropped off near the Harvard area and I don’t want to deal with finding an Uber or LyftOverall, this was a great hotel and a great experience and I would stay here again

This place is not as advertised, just avoid if Only giving the 2nd star because the front desk receptionist was nice Overall, the hotel is super old, dirty, and not as advertised at all

We booked two rooms here One room, one of the beds had sand in it and hair in the tub still, CLEARLY they did not clear the hotels well enough before hand The other room reeked of dirty towels and bathroom door were all chipped Definitely not a family friendly place and would NEVER stay here again I can’t believe I spent so much money here because totally not worth it

This hotel is dirty, with poor service and dishonest practicesWe paid $ 560/night for a room with king size bed Instead we were given a tiny dirty room with a queen bed with dirty sheets; there was a dirty sock in the bed, from the previous guest

Also the sheets had make-up stains The side table was stained, the bathroom was dirty, there was no hand soap in the bathroom A request for some shower gel to wash my hands with turned into a major problem with the front desk clerk The room had a very noisy refrigerator, the walls were badly stained The entire place looks dirty, tiered and unkempt, truly not by any means a Hilton No person should be subjected to such a treatment They should shut down this hotel for a complete revamp including the management!

Mark Russell

Decent location and very friendly employees The hotel very much is missing on most points Absolutely not a value at the price they’re asking and regret our stay

The rooms are quite old and dated, our window was cracked, peeling paint, cracked outlets, a bit of a mess Will say the bathroom was decent and where they concentrated on the last renovation Could have and should have gone further, will look elseware next visits to the area

Benji Stone

We showed up in Cambridge not knowing what to expect Noah was at the front desk and made our stay absolutely perfect Helped get us amazing reservations for dinner, set us up with a beautiful room

After learning it was our anniversary, Noah made sure to make it special by having rose petals, charcuterie board, sparkling water! Will definitely be back! Amazing team! Thank you

It may be a personal thing but the room was a little dark at night for what I like I like a place that when you turn on the lights it feels bright and cheerful Maybe lighter color walls or different lighting would have helped

I think it was the lighting But when morning came, I could open the curtain to a very large window to let plenty of light in I understand some rooms have a patio and wonderful views of the Charles River, which mine did not Otherwise the place was fine The breakfast buffet was wonderful They had eggs bacon, sausage, home fries, oatmeal, cereals, pastry, fresh fruit and more Couldn’t of done a better job when it came to breakfast The lobby had a nice big rotating glass door that you can easily get your luggage through The furnace / air-conditioning worked well The shower was also wonderful, as it had one of those large square shower heads The bathroom lighting was spectacular I saw fine marks, such as sun spots on my face, I never knew I had The people at the front desk were very helpfulIf I needed to stay in the area again, I would return

What an absolute lousy experience in the restaurant I was handed a lunch menu at dinner, after studying it I placed order and was told I can’t order off that menu for dinner I then studied the dinner Menu and was told I can order the club or the cheeseburger of the lunch menu

I ordered the cheeseburger medium and it was very well done and charred Others in the party ordered the steak and it also was cooked well done! Chef, use a Thermoworks professional thermometer if you can not judge meat temps! Cheesecake was $8 Are you kidding me!!!! It’s no bigger then a cupcake in diameter Marriott you should be ashamed at the service this place is giving with them quality of food coming out of the kitchenThe salmon was cooked perfectly I was told from another one in our party Consistency is key!

Mai Vaz

Hotel rooms are okay, bathroom was tiny, no vent, so all the room got very humid after a shower The hotel grounds very nice No wifi unless you pay for it

We tried to add a night to our stay just so we didn’t have to move to a different hotel and we were told they couldn’t help us since we had made the reservation through a third party which I thought was super odd If you want your room to be cleaned and get fresh towels you need to ask for them

Booked a Saturday for my kid’s sports tournament Realized due to schedule needed Friday night also They gouged me for the Friday night Once there, check in staff clueless Called for a restaurant menu because not in room or online Desk said menu should be in the room and they would bring one up Phone rings it’s the bar saying they are not bringing one up Went down to order food-$20 and change bill and the rude “bartender” takes $30 and never brings the change, forcing me to ask for it Sorry not tipping rude staff 975 on a 20 bill On Saturday get back to room and no room service for my 250 plus tax night stay Desk tells me you have to request it Breakfast not included, overpriced Starbucks with limited options Oh and mattress sags bad Plenty of other hotel choices locally -skip this place…

Visiting from Temecula California for a work trip Rooms are clean and quiet The people working the front desk super friendly and Jackie at the bar make an excellent Cesar salad

The location is sort of an island as you can’t walk to any restaurant’s from here You’ll need a ride to get to anything I would look forward to staying again if I return to area

LaDale Walker

I thought that breakfast was included, but it’s Starbucks a la carte Also, the TV goes out in the rain I basically had a blue screen with “no signal” written across it while it rained for over an hour

Not worth the money and the location is kind of secluded For the price, you can pay to stay at another Marriott with better amenities

Very disappointed in the customer service When we checked in, the desk staff person continued to chat with the housekeeping staff and did not acknowledge our presence until I indicated we would like to check in I requested two additional bath towels and one facecloth (since there were two of us in the room)

I was told they were ‘out of towels’ and to “call back in a few hours” (rather than offer to bring them up to us) We called a couple more times over the stay and the towels never appeared We finally went to the front desk and were provided the towels Not sure how a hotel can be “out of towels” We also requested the room be serviced, and was told 24 hours notice was required (which we were not told upon check in) We provided the notice, and the room was never serviced during our four night stay Overall, the staff seemed disengaged and not attentive to guests at all The room fan was incredibly noisy and we could not turn it off And the walls are very thin so we could hear our neighbors very clearly I have stayed in many Marriot properties and this was my first poor experience,

I first stayed here when they opened Then, it was a nice, mid-price hotel in a location I needed to be, and of course was brand new It’s still that, except a little more tired

Staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool (which feels newer than the rest of the hotel) is clean and has pool towels (an addition I recommend to any hotel with a pool) Oh, and it’s in a nice, secluded area, which is definitely a feature Breakfast was tasty (albeit egg free (they had pancakes); my son (9 years old) approved of the variety of foods (read: they had stuff he would eat, not generally guaranteed)

Aside from how cold it was during our stay here (not too long ago), our family including our dog really admire the hotel

Loved the fact that our room was on the first floor, had 2 very comfortable queen size beds, admired the size of the tv and how the TV stand swiveled nearly 360 degrees Very much liked the amount of storage As well as the kitchenette itself Not too big or tinyjust right! Loved how big the bathroom was From the frameless shower door, to the lighting, and the built in shelf behind the sink Just looked so nice, fairly modern and the b-room being “not too ritzy ditzy!” At the time of our stayright before school vacation in Feb, I lucked out going for a nice quick dip in the indoor heated pool Only guest inside My only suggestion would be to add a curtain in the public bathroom adjacent to the pool While it being public, it would be very nice to have a bit of privacy when a guy or a woman is changing or using the bathroom Overall I would very much consider staying here again

Stayed in room 24 & got an interesting picture on my SLS camera around 2am which lasted about 30 minutes This place did not disappoint Anyone who says they need updating is wrong

This hotel needs to stay the way it is Putting in modern furniture or bathrooms would absolutely take away from its coziness and character! Also, the restaurant is unbelievable! It’s definitely in the top 3 places I have ever eaten at I expected regular bar food there, but I was so wrong! The steak is fabulous! I will be staying there again this weekend and I can’t wait I really love this place! Oh, and it’s very clean as well!

We stopped at the Colonial Inn in Concord to grab a casual meal We had wedge salad that was very fresh, comforting and flavorful chicken pot pie and a traditional fish and chips dinner While nothing here is extra fancy, but it sure did hit the spot after a day of walking around town

The service was attentive and friendly It has that cozy tavern feel with a wood burning fireplace and rustic decor

We stayed in a Prescott Queen room while visiting the National Historic Site nearby It was fascinating to stay in such a historic location and I would highly recommend this inn to allPros: Amazing history, great location, clean, comfortable, updated bathroom, FANTASTIC restaurantCons: The wall AC unit did well with lowering the temperature of the room but it did stay a little humid (with that being said, I am sensitive to heat and it was very tolerable), very small shower (to be expected from a historic inn)

Very clean, remodeled, room was great, friendly staff Comfortable bed and bedding Only thing, beware there is almost nothing within walking distance, so don’t stay in this hotel for convenience to eating or access to downtown, public transport is not a very viable option

But if you have your own car or just need to be in the Waltham area, I’d 100% recommend Big beware though, because of staffing shortage, there is NO daily housekeeping services So no trash emptied, beds made, or rooms cleaned during your stay

I stayed here for two nights on a business trip My room was relatively modern looking and comfortable If you are sensitive to noise like I am, this hotel is a good option for you

My room was very quiet, no noise from the roads around Even the AC runs quietly which I liked a lot The hotel restaurant had live music on Wednesday night The continental breakfast is served from 6:30-9am and is $13 per person Options are very limited for breakfast though and could be improved Overall for a business traveler it is a good enough option

The Good: perfectly located for my business needs The staff was extremely helpful and attentive to my needs The bed is comfortable

The Bad: there is annoying light from the microwave, and AC unit of all things My room is on the south side and the curtains do little to stop the morning sunshine The breakfast is buffet style and very basic with no change of options, and no cooked-to-order options eitherEdit: After interacting with some of the other staff, I am removing another star Their staff – especially front desk and restaurant folks – need some more customer service trainingThe Ugly: This was fixed immediately, but wanted to mention it as I don’t understand why previous guests wouldn’t have reported it Please don’t be afraid to report broken elements in a room I discovered my first night that the AC was broken in that the wall thermostat wasn’t properly controlling the temperature I woke up to the room being 58 degrees! Please don’t suffer when traveling, always report problems They were able to immediately fix it and it worked perfectly since

Stayed here for a one night business trip The staff was super friendly and the hotel seemed very clean The bar has limited food options so if you’re looking for a dinner/meal I’d suggest other restaurants near by

I’m rating this 3 stars because it wasn’t the best sleep The curtains to my room didn’t shut all the way and i was on the 3rd floor facing the front of the building so all night long the lights were shining directly into my room I need it dark to sleep well Also, my room was directly across from the elevators and ice room/laundry room so very noisy If i was here longer than the 1 night I’d ask for a different room Overall not a bad place

Thank you to the staff at the front desk who checked us in at the last minute during a hectic graduation weekend We were in desperate search of alternative lodging and were able to find friendly and sympathetic people here who did not take advantage of our situation but made sure we were able to get rooms Thank you for your kindness and friendly conversations
