A stay at the Grand Victorian Inn was a dream come true for my husband and I We enjoyed every minute of our stay I especially enjoyed being able to tour most of this beautifully and tastefully decorated Inn, and see all the antiques and collectibles! This was a highlight for me

The food was delicious, the beds comfortable, the hosts friendly and kind I have recently had cancer surgery and been diagnosed with congestive heart failure This special place was refreshing and restorative, a place to relax and rejuvenate from recent stresses A shout out to our children who gifted us the opportunity to stay at this wonderful place I would definitely recommend the Grand Victorian Inn to all, but especially those that enjoy history and antiques

Stopped in for dinner while exploring the area This place was the gem of the visit Feels like going back in time

Excellent hospitality The food was amazing, dessert was better The chef even came out to chat Couldn’t be more friendly and quaint place This is hands down the best meal we had in a 3,000 mile road trip over a weeks time 5 stars does not come close to the rating this establishment deserves I would go out on a limb here and say this was one of the best dining experiences of my life

Be ready to step back in time Do you remember when hotels had actual keys instead of cards? Well, the Grand Victorian Inn took me back to that time with a front door key and a room key The room was wonderful

I was able to sleep soundly both nights, and it usually takes me a day or two to adjust when I travel The hosts were amazingly welcoming and friendly The morning breakfast is fantastic The Inn itself is full of Victorian treasures and holds true to its name My only “complaint,” if you can call it that, is that there was no recycling available That may be a locality thing, and it’s no trouble to pack recycling for when I get home HIGHLY recommend a night or three at this Inn!

Southern Hospitality indeed! I’ve never been to the south but it has made such an impression and it speaks volumes knowing that this hotel really cares about their customers For example, their employee Tray was tending to the breakfast area after it closed He happened to see us at the front desk and came over and asked if we were hungry, even though it was 20 minutes past breakfast time

While we were deciding to book an extra night, Tray’s gesture helped solidify our decision We were also allowed to check out late There are too many employees that I can commend, since each one was nothing but kind and compassionateThe rooms we stayed in were clean and welcoming My only gripe was that the faucet for the bathroom sinks was placed on the corner of the sink bowl, causing you to touch the inside of the sink bowl anytime you needed to wash your hands Everything else was perfect! You guys were amazing Again, thank you for the hospitality, it made our trip so much more enjoyable and we felt like we were at home

wtcool

This place is new and clean The modern decor are beautiful Our room is spacious and the bathroom is well lighted and very clean

We especially like the shower faucet’s high water pressure – it feels cool and great! The breakfast is nice but I wish there would be more variety Also, the air conditioner was leaking in our room We didn’t report the leaking though Overall, we are satisfied with our stay and will choose here to stay should we go to Cave City again

Haley Straw

The bed was incredible! I felt like I was sleeping on a cloudThe breakfast was warm and had a nice variety to itThe room was clean and warm

The staff was happy and helpfulThey remembered the little things, the night light, hooks to hang your belongings on, extra soaps, an alarm clockThe exercise room was open! The water fountains were open too I hadn’t used a water fountain in 2 years!I would totally stay again

I was very impressed with the staff at this hotel Every Staff member I met was friendly and courteous As an employee from another hotel I stayed using the employee rate and they treated me as well as I would treat one of our elite members

I can’t say enough about their patience and their professionalism As a customer Service representative I am sure I could learn a thing or two from these amazing people I wish I could list all of their names so their boss knows what an amazing job they did, but I honestly met so many that I just don’t remember so I am sorry The rooms were super clean and the pool was out of the way enough that we didn’t have to worry about our kids disturbing guests A truly amazing place to stay My only complaint is that you don’t allow pets It would have been nice to have been able to bring our dog along with us to Dinosaur World, but because you don’t allow pets we had to leave her at home You should really consider changing that policy, working for a hotel that allows them it really does bring in a decent amount of extra money and if the pet fee is high enough the kind of clientele you get don’t have pets that destroy things Just a small suggestion being as you are so close to so many pet friendly activities

Shannon Massey

No problems Some of the staff are not friendly but they do their jobs Maybe the cleanest hotel I have been to

They say there is a hot tub but there is not You have to request to have your room clean with a small paper form It would of been nice to know Very close to Mammoth Cave and other attractions Downtown Glasgow is beautiful Lots of little places go eat around hotel Number 1 reason why this hotel is great is it is super clean Great breakfast Good coffee Nice indoor pool but if you are sitting watching it is kind of hot Overall great hotel I would stay again if I come back to Mammoth Cave

T L

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at for work The rooms were clean and comfortable Getting into the room felt like “ahh I’m home” instead of feeling like you’re in some foreign place away from home

Edit: I forgot to mention how nice the staff was Everyone I came in contact with seemed very happy and giving They seemed to care and want to make sure you were taken care of The guy that’s typically there at night was awesome as well as the lady that was there in the evening, and the morning I hope I get more jobs around that area so I can stay there again Great breakfast in the morning as well They have biscuits and gravy amongst other things

New in town for a job the room was a queen size bed good size room and big bathroom Clean white sheets and comfy bed the only big flat screen with good selection of channels The only bad thing was when I turned on the heat it blew out cold air

Kept it on for 45 min never did get warm Room 129 I told the lady at front desk Went back an hour later there was a nice gentleman working he let me know all he could was change rooms That night there was a child’s baby doll on the ground over by the steps I took it to the office

Carol Andel

Booked 3 rooms All 3 rooms smelled so bad, musty & damp Asked to change rooms and no other rooms were available

Pool pump was broken, so no pool available The chair & ottoman in our room smelled and needed a good cleaning Found 2 ants in our bed Check in took over 45 mins as there was a new employee, 1st day here, who was left alone at the desk, while the manager went to Subway to get a sandwich When the associate got stuck, she called the manager on a speaker cellphone and the manager complained how long the f#$&*%employees were taking and swore again while we all listened to the conversation Guess you get what you pay for But $87 a nightthe room wasn’t worth it Stay so somewhere else!

John Fisher

I’m sure without reading reviews, most will say they are dated But how many are left that still have everything in your room you need? Iron, microwave, coffee maker and plenty of coffee, extra blankets working tv, more than enough towels, alarm clock, desk with pen and paper, shampoo, soap Rate was under $90

I’ve stayed in more updated, new carpet, paint, furniture for almost 200 a night with nothing in room but bed with one blanket and nothing else I’ll take this outdated room anytime

As far as the staff goes, 10/10 Very friendly The rooms were clean and comfy

Nice that the rooms had a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator Also the free coffee in the lobby is amazing My only issue was the free breakfast I got a moldy cinnamon roll which I unfortunately ate a bit of before I realized When I told the staff, they were very concerned and nice about itSo yes, I would say stay here when you need to, just check your cinnamon rolls when you get breakfast

Jenny Husar

Overall, this was a great hotel It’s close to Mammoth Cave NP and a lot of other attractions The staff are friendly and helpful

Hotel guests loved stopping to pet the hotel cats in front of the hotel The pool and hot tub were nice Everything was clean It is also pet friendly Due to all of those things, it is also a very popular hotel, especially with families and people who like to travel with their pets (me!) The pool, breakfast area, and elevator are very busy at times

Johnathan David

This has been the worst experience of our recent trip We arrived around 8 and had to go searching to find someone to check us in We ended up waiting over 15 minutes for someone to arrive at the front desk

Our credit card was charged multiple times because the front desk person stated it did not go through however when I checked my credit card statement online it showed multiple charges I showed this to the front desk person then was allowed to get our key The next morning I went to check to see if the credit card was working and the front desk person said it was just fine I don’t blame the person that checked us in as they seemed to be very overwhelmed with a bunch of stuff When we got to the room it was definitely not cleaned to a standard I’d expect from a holiday inn, dirt on the floor The room was also damp and smelled musty / mouldy The pool area was dirty and definitely smelled of mould The breakfast was a typical breakfast It seems like they are under-staffed During our stay there was a fire alarm because what we were told was a gas leak As we waited there were not really any updates from the staff I would definitely not stay here again After this stay we cancelled our stay at another holiday inn as the standards at this chain have gone down

We usually go for 3 star and above hotels We read the reviews (mostly mixed) from other people and we were initially not sure if the rooms will be clean Still we decided to stay as it was for just one night

The rooms were not at all bad as mentioned by other people about mold and bed bugs They were almost clean and well maintained Only complaints were the bed sheets had some stains on it Also the breakfast was just take away and it contained some fruits, granola bar and ready made donutsBut otherwise this is really a good hotel when considering the price we pay

Lynda Holliday

When we first got there, we had an issue and the manager came to help He fixed our problem but was kind of rude and abrupt, I think maybe that is the way their culture is Our room was not clean

There was pubic and regular hair in the tub, lots of dust, the vacuuming was not good and a dead fly hanging from the lamp shade Also if you stayed more than one night you did not get housekeeping, but it wouldn’t have mattered Breakfast was a disappointment The best thing about it was the price

I loved the experience! I loved the history! The kids loved the park! The community bonfire was an awesome way to get to know other travelers The Wigwams were clean and the rooms were cozy Obviously, they’re being restored, so there were some visible signs of wear

If you need perfection, you may not be comfortable But if you appreciate history and a great ambience, you’ll love it here!

carrie Helzer

My Grandmother recommended Wigwam Village when I told her we were going to Tennessee and wanted to find a place to stay on the way She and her sister stayed for a night in the 1960s! I decided to look it up and see if maybe they were still open and running To my delighted surprise, they were! When we arrived one of the owners sat down with us and we talked for awhile about the history, that was pretty awesome! It is dated, but they are renovating—It was still an amazing experience! He also made a bonfire and we made many new friends that night

We loved it and will be back with our kids!

Kelly Kurutz

Come for the history and the unique experience!!! These are no Ritz-Carlton hotels so if that’s your thing look elsewhere These were built in the 30’s and Keith and his partner are restoring them meaning they are old and the furnishings are old but everything is clean My boys loved staying here as well as the playground and games outside

We really enjoyed coming together at night around a campfire This place is a gem It’s also a short drive to cave city and all the sights

This place is SUPER fun! If you have a sense of nostalgia for the old roadside attractions, you will love the Rock Cabin Campgrounds It is less than a 10 minute drive to Mammoth Cave National Park tooWe stayed in (recently renovated) Cabin 6

I love watching all the tiny home reviews online, and this place gave us a little taste of that lifestyle We spent all the time we could outside at the fire Sadly, the torrential downpours kept us in our super cozy cabin for two nightsOur hosts are super helpful, and made great suggestions about the best caves to explore We can’t wait to come backWe found out this morning that this place is listed on the National Register of Historic Places These cabins were hand built from local natural stone If you lokk at the pictures, you will see chunks of onyx in the wall This place is fascinating!

I have not had the chance to stay here yet, my husband and I met the owners today while out on a family day trip today and they were so friendly! I am so excited to book here in the fall and get to meet them again! The way the talked about their campground really shows how much love they have for it and the people who visit! See y’all soon!

Warning Worst Experience Bad Business!Since I made reservations on their reservation line I thought we were secure in the arrangements with a confirmation number although I was never sent an email HOWEVER, I made the reservations for 2 nights

The rate quoted after a Military discount was $11835 per night But I received a call while at an event our first full day that our room was only reserved for the one night and we needed to remove our things At first I was told they were fully booked but then a room was suddenly found, of course at a much higher rate $21100 Not knowing the area and in the middle of an event we were pretty much forced to accept the new room and the higher rate I had to leave and go move all our things to a new room from the 1st floor to the 2nd All the manager and clerk could tell me was that the outsourced reservations line had only booked it for one night Of course I had nothing but their word to go on They didn’t offer the room at the same rate They made significantly more money They weren’t apologetic and felt in no way responsible even though it was their company’s mistake We were attending events with several friends and we had 4 other rooms with our group at that hotel Their reservations were not problematic but they were shocked to find their rooms not cleaned while we were out Not even fresh towels were brought When they notified the desk they were all told that there was a sign on the counter telling people they had to request such things there at the desk if desired The sign was obscured by a box someone set in front of it but that didn’t warrant an apology either even though they could have told people at check-in of the policy When one of our group spoke to the General Manager, Francis Page, by phone she made it perfectly clear that she didn’t care Breakfast was a brown bag that you could get upon request during breakfast hours if you could wait long enough for someone to come out of a back room, where they seem to stay, to help you So they will conveniently limit your stay unless you come up with addition funds for another room, refuse to service your room (saving money at their end by not having to employ enough staff for such things) all while presenting themselves with a well known and supposedly reputable business name This hotel manager had the worst customer service/management ethics EVER! We will NEVER stay at another Comfort Inn because we have no way of knowing if these are the new acceptable corporate policies nationwide

Alan Arlan

After I’d paid in full, in advance, for my room, they demanded another credit card upon check-in, to hold me accountable for “damages to my room” during my overnight stay When I expressed my indignation over that, they were snotty towards me Also had kids running overhead in the room above me, late into the night, and no exhaust fans in their bathrooms

I’ll never stay there again

Jason Medley

Very disappointed in this comfort inn I have stayed at numerous comfort inns and this one was at the bottom No ATM on site

Vending machines only took cash One elevator for entire hotel guests including housekeeping Never have been nervous about an elevator operation going up 1 floor before being in that one Pool had a green color entire 3 day stay Very minimum selection for “hot breakfast” that was advertised Room did not cool down entire 3 day stay I very rarely do a bad review but the hotel itself was definitely not worth almost 500$ for three nights

Stayed at the hotel portion of the resort It was okay Our trip was planned around visiting Mammoth Caves which is about 30 minutes away from the resort

The room is moderately outdated but you can tell it’s been at least kept up with throughout the years where it matters most, which is the beds/mattresses/carpeting The beds were comfortable, the sheets smelled fresh and the carpet looked clean Loved having a balcony that faced the trees and lake – got to listen to crickets and frogs all night which was delightful Even got to watch some stray cats and skunks wander around from balcony once the lodge area quieted down for the nightThe grounds of the lodge area itself were also dated but the overall appearance of it was alright and tolerable Pool area was spacious and clean From a certain corner of the pool, you can see the lake and watch boats go byThe disappointing part of the experience was dining at the Driftwood Restaurant located in the main lodge They close at 8 PM on Saturday nights which seems quite early for a resort in the middle of summer — plus there are zero other dining options nearby, you have to drive about 20 minutes before you find something other than fast foodThe whole vibe of the restaurant was off – fluorescent overhead lighting, the decor and furniture looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 90’s and the windows were so dirty, I couldn’t properly see out of them The employees looked annoyed we were there and were rushing everyone to get out exactly when the clock hit 8 pmWe were so turned off by the dining experience we didn’t even bother checking out the pub that is also in the lodge area but stays open a little later – didn’t want to be rushed through our drinksOverall, the experience was okay for a couple nights while we checked out the caves but I don’t think the $150+ a night price tag matches the experience you receive

What a beautiful place!!! We experienced a disaster at another hotel that we had booked We ended up having to leave that hotel due to the conditions of the room There was a big event going on this past weekend so everything nearby was booked

A friendly Glasgow police officer suggested Barren Lake state park The staff was extremely friendly and got us booked immediately and even gave us a discount because of the hassle we had experienced at the other hotel in Glasgow (who is not affiliated with Barren Lake) The room was immaculate, smelled amazing and had a beautiful view of the lake and a relaxing balcony It is a Very quiet and relaxing property The beds were super clean and comfy! There is A delicious restaurant on site with friendly staff as well and decently priced It was cold out the weekend of our stay so we didn’t get to enjoy much of the outdoors but the kids really enjoyed the playground on site and we were able to take them swimming at the YMCA nearby Not far from mammoth caves and dinosaur world We can’t wait to come back in the summer time and take advantage of the beautiful lake, trails, and pools at Barren Lake state park I highly recommend this place! You will not be disappointed!!! Thanks for helping make our weekend getaway with our children better and comfortable! Can’t wait to come back!! Keep up the good work!! 👍🏻

Vince Hart

An old hotel operated in a wonderful place The restaurants closed Monday Tuesday and Wednesday but the website doesn’t let you know that so be careful, bring your own food if you need it Plenty of restaurants in nearby Glasgow

The walking trails are superb
