I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying at the National Harbor Check-in was a breeze, thanks to Kimberly! She made me and my family feel so comfortable and welcomed Kimberly has a angelic personality

She kept a big, pretty smile on her face every time we entered and exited the hotel She was so nice and I hope her manager reads this review so that he/she can provide her with a raise She is deserves it! The room was spotless, very clean and inviting We slept well in the comfortable beds, the sofa bed mattress was even comfortable! The host at the hotel did not hesitate to provide service when needed They were “johnny on the spot” We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast The only thing missing at the hotel is a pool My great niece was anticipating upon arrival the pool She is currently taking swimming lessons and was so eager to show me her moves! In closing, the Hyatt Place National Harbor was a 5 star experience for me and my family

Shanna Langhorne

The rooms are clean and comfortable The only con is our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back

Worst service I’ve had in a long time – possibly ever This rating should be negative zero stars My mother is visiting from out of town (very far away) and I had planned a nice day to include afternoon tea for the both of us as a special treat

We do not get time together very often Imagine our surprise and disappointment when we arrived and the restaurant had no signs of life – closed without notice I went to the concierge desk of the Watergate and was informed it had been closed days before with no explanation and that they were sorry but the reservation must have been made through a glitch in their system The woman behind the counter was very nonchalant and not at all concerned, even when I showed her proof of my reservation Funny since I received both an email and two text reminders asking me to confirm, and was also charged for a prepaid tea service The Watergate staff did not offer any recompense, said I would have to resolve the charge to my card online, and to “try Georgetown” for something today Absolutely unacceptable! I will not be returning and will make sure to recommend against it every time I thought it would be fun to try, but there are plenty of better other and obviously better options in the area anyway I should add there were a couple of other guests in front of us who seemed extremely distraught by poor service and their rooms not being ready, so overall I would say this establishment should be passed over in every respect

100% recommended!!If you are looking for a 5 stars ⭐️ hôtel in DC, this is the one It was perfectly located for us between Georgetown and the Mall (walking distance), and very quiet at the same time Gym, pool, jacuzzi, library, breakfast are great

You can walk by the Potomac easily… and it’s one of the best rooftop in DC The architecture is beautiful and bold The staff is very attentive and always there to help We can say that the new GM know how to make a stay unforgettable!!!

Absolutely stunning hotel Amazing location by the Potomac River Walking distance to many different stores and restaurants

Check in was great Valet parking on site for $58 a night Rooms are spacious and the most comfortable bed Some rooms do have balconies with waterviews but they are a little dirty When trying to call the front desk it took awhile for them to answer the phone Besides a couple of those negative we would definitely come back

The hotel was clean and well-maintained Breakfast was decent, typical hotel breakfast It was disappointing that the pool was closed

The website did note this, which I appreciate The room is a fair size and we had all of our amenities The location was good Places to eat were nearby The parking lot was well lit at night Staff was pleasant enough

Duane Shurow

Booked a standard room for my wife and I and an accessible room for my parents They had difficulty finding the accessible room, even though I had a confirmation number Eventually gave us a room on the 4th floor

I asked if it was ‘accessible’ and was told “yes, it’s hearing accessible” Hotel was fully booked and that room was all that was available Thankfully, the room was very very nice and the beds very comfortable – so my parents didn’t mind a little inconvenienceYou are required to leave a separate deposit upon registering that is returned “in 3 to 5 business days” – not a big deal – but a little oddAttempted to charge some snacks to my room and was told that I did not have a card on fileeven though I booked the room with a cardand left a deposit for a cardRoom service was provided, which was appreciated, but did not replace towels or replace the coffeePool is closed indefinitelyNice hotel, good location, very comfortable rooms Would have given this 4 stars but too many of the little things seem to be missing Would probably try them again

NEVER AGAIN! I cannot believe how rude the staff was First, we took our kids to the pool at 9am (the signs at the pool said open 9a-10p) The door was locked

My husband went to the front desk where the manager was, to which the manager replied that it doesn’t open until 10am My husband questioned why the sign was wrong, and the manager stated he “DOES NOT HAVE TO update the paper”, he “only has to update the time on the website”, and had no plans to fix the sign (it was just a piece of paper printed off of the computer)The next day, I went down to the lobby to request a set of towels My husband and I were traveling with our children, and routine maid service is no longer existent during stays (only available upon request) I asked the woman at the front for 6 bath towels (for our showers that night) and she told me I “DID NOT NEED 6 TOWELS” and that she would only be giving me 4!? When additionally saying I would like one for my hair, she LITERALLY TOLD ME I DID NOT NEED A TOWEL FOR MY HAIR I was completely floored I am still trying to process that this woman spoke to me like a child and told me what I needed and did not need She refused me towels just wow Would she like us to share towels??The hotel is nice, but the level of service was terrible I can’t believe the rudeness coming from two people in the hospitality industry, let alone just two human beings in general

This is probably one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in DC The staff are super nice and welcoming, always making sure your visit and stay is enjoyable and going out of their way to make you feel welcomed All the ladies working here are angels

I was scheduled to arrive late at night, and Jessica waited for me and checked me in when I arrived at night The hostel is in a very nice neighborhood (Capitol Hill) Although it’s not close to the tourist sites, the Metro is 2 blocks away, you’re right by a grocery store (Trader Joes), and surrounded by great bars and restaurants The wifi worked on all the floors (no spotty signal, it was strong on all 3 floors!) and rooms were super cool (a respite from the scorching DC heat) The rooftop patio was nice, and the outdoor patio Delicious chocolate chip pancakes were served every morning, with coffee TV had majority of the streaming services on it to keep you occupied, lounge on the 3rd floor had books and 2 computers The only complaint I have is that the bathrooms are kinda in a very awkward spot (located smack dab in the living room) Anyone can see and hear you walk to and from the bathroom (and what you do inside), and when you walk out, the whole living room can see The men’s showers are also next to the living room/kitchen, and anyone walking by the kitchen can see everything going on in the showers, making it slightly uncomfortable Rooms were a bit cramped and small But overall, the hostel was very clean and modern

Ryan Young

Honest review If you value security find another hostelThere was definitely some positives The staff were amazing, and the beds were fairly comfy

That’s about where the positives ended unfortunatly for meI was unable to feel secure inside the hostel The outer front doors stay unlocked the whole time, and the front doors, while locked have a hole in the middle for sliding documents through, that could fit a small arm and someone could easily just open the door from inside The rooms themselves have zero locks on them (completely unacceptable in my opinion) They do have lockers, but they are all on the second floor (dorms on all 3 floor) and definitely not big enough to fit a larger backpack, and not enough for every guest, so there is a chance you won’t get a locker and have to leave your stuff in an unlocked roomThe rooms were too small, with barely any room between the beds You will feel like a sardine can in the rooms, and I have zero idea how it passed fire code inspectionThe men’s shower area has no lock on the door and it’s just off of the kitchen I’d hate someone to be eating and get an eyeful they don’t want to see while eating When I was there only one overhead light in the bathroom was working, the other was flickering, generally meaning electrical problems, and apparently it had been like this for a few days There is rust all around the base of the bathroom light fixtures, meaning they aren’t meant to be used in a moisture rich environmentAll in all, would NEVER stay here again, or reccomend to anyone unless you are in a real pinch Even then sleep with all your important stuff basically attached to you so you can feel secureUnacceptable for the price I paid for the hostel I did not feel safe or overly comfortableBut as I said, with all that, the staff truly are wonderful! They are super helpful and accommodating and great fun to hang around

Worst hostel I’ve stayed in so far Whole place smells like sweat because of the “no shoes” rule which is clearly only there so they can save money on cleaning Rooms are clean and the beds are fine, but our room had a neon red bright exit sign that couldn’t be turned off and lit up the room at night

Also, one bathroom for the whole floor, really? Would’ve rather spent a little extra and got a hotel roomThe hostel doesn’t exactly encourage socializing either All the people we met were great, but the only nice common area (rooftop) closes way too early and the rest of the common areas are sweltering hot due to the lack of AC Also, no drinking after 10pm apparently Can’t even enjoy a beer in the heatThe only positive is the location, which really is good Walking distance to most of the good places in DC and right next to a grocery store Honestly the location is the only reaons this review has two stars and not oneOverall, I expected more from a hostel in the nation’s capital

Aidan Garrity

The location and staff are excellent The included breakfast is nice, even if it’s just pancakes Rooftop patio area great for relaxing and chatting

The hostel has a good social atmosphere Parking is a bit pricey since it’s downtown, but most people visiting this hostel are from overseas so it doesn’t matter as much Would stay here again when visiting DC

Nicholas Daniel

Great stay for my first time at a hostel The staff are very friendly and helpful, and willing to give recommendations for food in the area The free pancakes every morning were great

All the facilities were kept clean The hostel is well located near many attractions The only real complaint was that the wifi was slow but with 20+ people there that is to be expected

Me and family booked a night here from out of state Family of 4 with the king suite and pull out couch First off the pool doesn’t exist so don’t pack bathing suits nor believe the pictures

We were told it had been out of use for 6 years In our room on the south tower side we had no air and not to mention we had two toddlers with us So it wasn’t pleasant nor did I sleep good Parking is ridiculous being $42 a night but I guess your car stays safe right…? The breakfast that we paid for with our reservation was okay not the best breakfast I’ve had and it kind of bothered my family because waiters tried serving us when we didn’t want to be served and bothered us while eating wanting a tip…when our food was paid for…and it’s a buffet The pull out couch for my oldest toddler was mediocre outdated kinda feeling I will have to say it was clean more than other hotels I’ve been to so I give it that and it was close to a lot of attractions That’s about it!

Sharion Flood

My daughter was graduating from college in the area so I booked a room here Upon booking the room, I asked was there a pool and was told yes there is an indoor pool On the website, it states there’s a microwave and refrigerator in the room

Upon arrival, there was only a refrigerator but no microwave My granddaughter wanted to go to the pool so after her, my niece and nephew got dressed, we called the front desk to inquire about the location of the pool and was told that there hadn’t been a pool in the past 5 years I had an event to attend with my daughter so I made a call to the hotel while I was out to ask about the microwave that was suppose to be in the room and was told they would bring me one Upon returning to the room (picture provided) this is what I was provided It looks as if they pulled it out of an employee lounge or something with dents all over it The 2nd night the cable went out and did not come back on (pictures provided) I called the front desk and was told that they had called for repair For taxes and fees, I was charged the same amount as another night of stay ($466 for 2 nights) (pictures of room provided)I had family in another room, which they did not have any air conditioning The hotel did have it repaired which worked for a few hours then went back out, however they did have cable the entire stayNot 1 time did I receive an apology for any of the inconveniences from this hotel staff I attempted one more time to address all of the inconveniences upon check out At that time they offered to comp my parking which I didn’t have a car there, so I asked that they comp my family with the room that had no air conditioning They did do that for themThe staff acted as if all issues happen on a regular basis as they are quick to respond without checking any of it outI would never stay at another Double Tree anything I do not recommend this hotel under any circumstances

Cheryl Denise

The service at this hotel was great and the staff was really friendly The rooms though

they really need to be updated Our bathroom mirror was broken all along the edges – which is a hazard – and the “King” bed in our suite was definitely a Queen Our shower didn’t drain properly, and since there is no daily housekeeping, that meant we needed to clean our own tub Good thing I had my Clorox wipesbut I didn’t pay the nightly fees to clean my own tub in a hotel suite Yes, maybe I could’ve switched rooms but who wants to do that after dragging your luggage to your room and unpacking? The A/C was questionable – you had to turn it down to the mid 60s to get the air up-to-par Note: this is coming from someone who typically likes the room in the 70sIf you don’t care about any of the above and you need a hotel in a great location, then by all meansknock yourself out

Excellent Easy check-in/check-out, staff was welcoming and really really nice

but that’s my experience with people in DC in general Atmosphere and design was top notch Rooms are small but everything you need for a great night sleep Bed is right at window sill height so feels awesome and campybut in a city Great overall design Hallways even felt great Loved the frosted glass showers and toilet but I’m very private and would probably be an issue with me if significant other was with me Although watching her silhouette in the shower would be awesome Can’t beat the price, unbelievably affordable

Wasn’t sure at first… Check in process was hassle free, loved that I could do it myself, not much available to help bring heavy/large luggage around but I managed Room was smaller than I thought with an unorthodox style but the bed was massive and incredibly comfortable Loved the fluffy pillows and the tablet being able to operate absolutely everything

The different cool soaps, tap water is safe to drink, then when I asked for cleaning, they weren’t sure when they’d get to it… then did it within hours which was a pleasant surprise Modern, elegant, and hotel of the future… would stay again!

I loved my time here at the CitizenM The decor was amazing and the cleanliness of the rooms were even better Our check in went well and it was very easy

The showers are amazing and the bed is so comfy The bar was my boyfriend and I favorite spot to hang out, the bartenders were lovely and we even made cool with the manager at the bar! She made us some awesome drinks The only thing I didn’t like was the parking situation You have to find random parking on the street However, the hotel was so nice that it outweighed that burden of finding parking Overall, I loved my experience the staff was very friendly and helpful

My husband and I recently stayed a night to celebrate our wedding night The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and sanitized but i was extremely shocked by the lack of amenities at this hotel There was no microwave in the room

There was no room service No breakfast the next morning They did not validate parking I think I was expecting a little more from a hotel of such quality It was nice for a quick staycation but i probably won’t stay here again

Marcus Douglas

Good hotel within walking distance of everything in National Harbor area It’s clean, the prices are decent, and the bar and breakfast are goodThe design of the room was a bit ‘industrial’ for my taste – very bare bones, lots of hard surfaces, not very inviting

But the bed was soft and ultimately got the job doneDuring the week I stayed, only one elevator was working and it was incredibly slow Also, on Friday night some guests were partying in the hallways all night, until 4am/5am

Steve Hudson

Great hotel Beds were excellent! Wonderful pillows Central location, views and cold air conditioning

A little disappointed that you had to pay $24 a day for a parking garage and that breakfast was not included Easy walking distance to shopping, dinner, waterfront views Overall, would definitely recommend them as consideration for a place to stay

The price of the room is what got us to stay here, room was OK However they charged an additional $100 deposit that they mentioned NO WHERE on the website and the desk clerk claimed it would go away once they checked our room upon check out It’s been 3 days and the charge is STILL on my friends account

If we had an extra 100 bucks to throw around we wouldn’t have looked for a cheaper hotel Not everyone can just wait days and days to get that money back these days Especially when our room was left in perfect condition Doubtful we will stay again Even the VERY nice hotels in the harbor don’t charge 100 deposit 🙄

I plan on staying here again when next in the area This hotel stay was great for a number of reasons The desk attendants were polite, the room was very clean, and the breakfast was exactly what I needed to get me going on the morning with good protein options

While the hotel is somewhat worn, it is well maintained and clean My only complaint with the facility is that all entry doors are not useable from the outside except for the lobby entrance This hotel has a lot going for it and only minor “issues” that would not bump this from the top of my list of places to stay in the area
