Beautiful, clean rooms Bathrooms had a barn style door that couldn’t lock, so the kids thought that was a little weird Nice clean kitchenette

Big mini fridge Pool was a good temp, could have been about 10 degrees warmer and it would have been perfect But as soon as you start swimming you warm right up Lots of restaurants nearbyWill definitely book another stay

We took our yearly summer trip to Michigan and decided to do a hotel instead of a rental and we are so happy that we did! The hotel was modern and clean, breakfast options were perfect for our family (even for myself who has celiac disease), and the entire staff is wonderful Customer Service is stellar and we would absolutely stay here again!!

1 It’s not really a Suite Slightly larger room with a curtain to separate out the sleeping couch

2 Poorly designed sliding doors Careful with kids My daughter got her finger caught -super painful3 Front desk oft was nice Came and fixed the door (temporarily)4 Overall overpriced as a suite …not with the extra money

The service provided by Matt and his front desk team is impeccable From making a reservation, checking in, and checking out

plus shipping an item I forgot in the room puts this hotel above most The location is convenient (we attended a wedding) and the accommodations are large and modest Would be ideal for a family visiting the area and just needing space to return to relax, unwind, and use the kitchenette Thank you, so much

comfortable beds multiple ticks the pool is freezing cold and the hot tub is also very cold

not many breakfast choices room keys don’t work most of the time i had my room key “fixed” multiple times and it still is broken for half of my stay here the exercise room is just two treadmills and one elliptical not much to exercise my teammates room smelled horrid most of the lights are burnt out in the hallway my garbage from yesterday still hasn’t been taken, it’s just sitting outside of my room do not recommend this hotel in the middle of no where

We just stayed overnight and were mostly away from hotel at event so not hanging in hotel a lot That said, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet I slept very well and usually do not on first night in new hotel so bed must have been great

Little breakfast cafe had nice variety and was quick, convenient and deliciousHotel is downtown but parking was plentiful Walked around downtown on Saturday morning and of lots inviting, unique shopsGuests at hotel were all quite friendlyOverall, it suited us well

Adam Lucas

My wife and I came for the first weekend of Tulip festival to celebrate my wife’s birthday The hotel was in great condition and the staff did a fantastic job handling the crowds (especially parking) They also had a birthday card with a small gift waiting in our room for my wife, which definitely made the stay that much more special

I highly recommend this hotel for any trip to Holland The location, great staff, and well kept facilities can’t be beat

Benoit Bauwens

This hotel is very clean, bedrooms are up to date, employees are really courteousEasy free parking in the back, and keep in mind that parking on the street is not aloud in Holland between 2:00AM and 5:00AMEV charger in front of the hotel (not a Tesla, but ok it’s there)

Stayed for 1 night and everything was perfectThe plus is the Starbucks cafe for a quick breakfastI definitely recommend this hotel

I had a a very nice experience at Bella Vita I am a cosmetologist myself and am sometimes let down by spa services, however the crew at Bella Vita did not disappoint I had a very nice massage which helped me with some issues I was having with my neck

I also got a pedicure and my polish has lasted for over a month now 10 of 10 recommend!

Marwa Wright

My husband loved his massage mine however was very underwhelming And what is the point of having a couples massage if you are basically in separate rooms far apart with a door in-between open I thought it was quite alarming that there were no forms to fill out prior to the massage for them to learn about any of our health issues or concerns

My husband’s massage was very enjoyable strong firm and relaxing I wish I would’ve had her instead but glad he enjoyed his first massage atleast If it was based on my experience alone they would get one star

Michelle L

I made an appointment on Sept 23 over the phone for a couples massage on Oct 2, including my credit card number in order to secure the reservation (or so I thought) Imagine my surprise when we arrived a few minutes early on Oct 2 to check in, and they “couldn’t find” my reservation and some other duo walked in for the time slot I thought I’d booked They offered a gift certificate or other services to try and make up for the mistake, but didn’t have any other appointment slots for massages, so it was pointless

Not impressed by whatever their booking system is Apparently I have to give them notice if I can’t make my appointment, but they don’t

My stay at this hotel was amazing! The breakfast cook Tonya was very kind and the spread was hot with options She was also part of social which they served a well put together dinner I was shocked to even be served a dinner at a hotel

My room was clean and well designed Housekeeping the next day was helpful enough to even give me fresh towels when they seen me Amber the front desk was nice and answered all questions during check in Later when we needed an extra blanket she was very helpful The pool and hot tub were both open and the area was very clean Upon check out Ashley the GM made sure to ask if we enjoyed our stay, which we did She and Amber were very helpful in breakfast suggestions as well I highly recommend staying here The new management from our previous stays has changed a lot of things for the better All of the staff seem happy and you can tell they are like a huge family

Andrea

Very clean hotel with a very friendly staff Liberty was very helpful and there to greet us at the front desk for a late check in Praise to the cleaning crew, the room was immaculate, spotless and cleaned thoroughly

The full kitchen was very convenient to have, with dishwasher and plenty of dishes All accommodations were beyond my expectations If I could give it 10 stars I would! Will be staying there again!

N-8 The Poet

I’ve been staying in hotels across the country for the last two years because of the nature of my job And I must say that Staybridge is one of my top picks They’re always clean and always willing to help guests in any way they can

We first visited Kingsley House 10 years ago, and returned for a Valentine’s weekend getaway The house was clean, cute, and preserved the historical style and decoration Our host was friendly and went way out of his way to customize the experience for us – even bringing gluten-free cookies up to our room since I mentioned my food preferences

There are great nearby restaurants and we cross-country skied in the area We would come back again!

Vaidehi Patel

Great experience! We booked the Kingsley house for our overnight stay since we visited Holland, MI for the annual tulip festival I really appreciated the hospitality and the environment this place had The owner was very friendly & understanding

Even though he mentioned on his site that his latest check in time is no later than 7pm, I still called him informing him that I will be checking in late He understood and was thankful that he was notified Once we arrived at the place, he gave us a small tour about the history of this place, which was intriguing Breakfast was fresh and had great quality of food as well as the variety of the drinks I highly recommend this place! Thank you, Chuck!

Rebecca Frankosky

This was our first visit to Michigan and our first time staying in a bed and breakfast Chuck and Sally were wonderful hosts! Our room was so cozy and I loved the hydro therapy soaking tub Breakfast was delicious each morning and we had the pleasure of meeting several new people

We highly recommend visiting and would love to come back!

We got married in Holland and chose this hotel for our us and our guests to stay SO extremely happy with everything! The staff went above and beyond for us and all of our guests They made our wedding weekend easy and we’re so helpful and accommodating

The beautiful patio out back was the perfect spot for us and our guests to hang out They even took photos with their own camera throughout the weekend and then surprised us with the prints when we left We will definitely will be back! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel

T

The staff was nice but the place is “under renovation” and has been for a while Bare concrete floors in lobby as of April 2022, I see reviews mention this almost a year ago, so probably staying that way Lots of clutter behind front desk

Seems to be a lot of traveling construction workers staying here, many hanging out in cars in parking lot Had to sign a “do not party” waiver, which gives you clues Our family didn’t feel safe so we went to another hotel The website photos DO NOT match reality Rooms are dated and don’t feel clean Did not feel comfortable staying here with small children

Lisa Costigan

Staff was really friendly and helpful Freshly popped popcorn was welcome after a long drive with kids that just wanted to swim Pool was loaded with diving toys, pool noodles, and balls

My kids had a blast Rooms are very clean Breakfast was better then most included hotel breakfasts with a lot of grab and go variety though we took advantage of the eggs, potatoes, sausage, and bacon Will stay here again if we end up back in the area

Love the small hotel, owners were very kind and friendly, the dogs were very playful for dog lovers! It is tricky to find the hotel since it is hidden in the woods, but the views are worth it We loved our suite ( the anniversary) has a whirlpool which we relaxed with wine during the night We enjoyed the balcony to relax and enjoy the nature sounds, the showers are big, and I definitely loved the sink with a big mirror

We opt out of breakfast, which you can include when you book the room, but he was nice to recommend us restaurants, the house is lovely and so are the owners!

Warm showers and clean bathroom Quiet after dark and a good breakfast in the morning Easy to find by the super cool sign! Check in was a breeze and the gal at the desk was very welcoming and friendly!

Jaime S

We stayed here for two nights on a romantic trip for our anniversary We ended up needing to push our reservation back a day (car trouble) and they were very accommodating! Everything was very clean, wonderfully decorated and the pool, hot tub and outside area were amazing! Very quiet and sound proof rooms They even had a dehumidifier in the room! The only areas of improvement I would say would be the old scratchy towels and 1 ply toilet paper and small breakfast options but overall we loved it here!

Jonah Sobczak

Fantastic stay! I went with my girlfriend on the off season and had a very pleasant experience The service was friendly and prompt The room itself was incredibly well decorated and comfortable

Felt much more like a hotel than a motel! Can’t really speak highly enough for how satisfied we were with the roomIt was quite literally walking distance from a very cute breakfast place and an incredibly short driving distance from downtown SaugatuckOverall, we were super thrilled with our stay and would very likely go again or recommend it to others

2 1/2 starsI’ll start with some positives Breakfast was good, fine selection

We didn’t have to walk far to our rooms Staff seems nice That’s sort of where it endsNow, the room itself was fine upon first glance, but internet wasn’t great There were only 2 towels and they were super small Basically large wash clothes We went to the pool, but the pool itself was very cold We decided to try the hot tub but it generally looked really dodgy, from the bad paint job to the green stuff forming on the side, like it hadn’t been cleaned super recently There ended up being a bug in our beds and between that and the dead bugs in the hallway, we decided to leave early We had no problem with staff, but the hotel itself wasn’t great

Penny Johnston-Bowling

3-night stay was quiet and relaxing The beds were very comfortable It’s a Best Western so you can’t expect a 5-star hotel

But it was clean, staff was super friendly The breakfast lady worked really hard to make sure we were serviced Our only complaint (hence the 4-star rating) was due to poor Wi-Fi I have AT&T and it was just adequate My husband has Verizon and had issues the whole time Other than that, it was fine

Tosha

I’m that customer that cleans the room when I get there and doesn’t let housekeeping in until we leave The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful They even went out their way to get disinfectant spray for me to spray down the mattress bc, the stores were closed so I could not buy my own spray

I usually stay in an Airbnb but we will definitely be back to Best Western Saugatuck great location, on a main road and not far from downtown Saugatuck or Douglass

I stayed here for a week and it was wonderful! All the meals we had from catering were too notch, and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom is big Every staff member I interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful, they were happy to help any time with whatever you needed Definite plus is that they have a great bar too

Would definitely recommend

My husband and I decided to book a small trip to Holland and decided to stay at CityFlats We both fell in love with this place for the unique rooms, but the service and location were both amazing Walking downtown to enjoy a nice dinner was a huge perk and not something you usually experience in a small town

Our room was quiet throughout the night and we enjoyed happy hour during our last night at the bar I keep recommending this place to people if they want a nice trip to MichiganThe only complaint I would have is the fitness facility didn’t have much to offer A few dumbbells and cardio machines Next trip I’ll spend my time enjoying a nice walk in the morning around downtown 🙂

Sofia F

The location was the selling point for us, but I don’t think we would stay again We had a 2 bed room and they positioned the beds back to back, facing away from each other and floating in the center of the room? This setup made the entire space feel very awkward and strangely uncomfortable As others have said, the room temp was hard to control (we went to bed cold) and the lighting was very dark

The WiFi was also very slow the day we were there (8 Mbps) The beds were very comfortable though, and as a Hilton hotel, had very nice linens Nice shower too Note: there is not a complimentary breakfast, although I suspect this may be the norm for a downtown hotel

Leftover food in mini fridge Garbage bags not placed in garbage cans I had to sanitize my own toilet because it was not clean

Also, looks like there is mold on bathroom curtainI am very disappointed

MoyoPengu

Too pricey, room was alright, no apparent cleaning services The young man at the desk was extremely kind and helpful, But the old lady with glasses was stingy and annoying Breakfast was good, was an average hotel with an absurd price tag of 140$ a night

Gym was small and smelly compared to the inns nearby Pool was closed at the time

Jene’ Souder

This is my second visit to this hotel, as my father (below- Ruben Miller) mentioned, the rooms are quite small for two people As I write this, I’ve waited 35 minutes (and counting) for the night auditor to bring me a laundry bag and a pair of gloves When I called the first time, he ignored my call, probably because his Stephen King novel was more interesting that my request

The tub had a ring around it and the shower curtains are dirty You can tell this is franchise and not a corporately owned hotel, because Marriott would have none of this nonsense There is a stench of mold in the room, which explains my headache, but I’m too tired to move at this point Last time staying here…the wifi kept dropping of and the front desk never showed

The bed, pillows, and linens were very nice, and everything was well taken care of We didn’t use the back patio much, but there is plenty of nice space outside (including a hot tub) available for use Overall it was a great stay, and we will definitely be coming back!

I wanted to check out the accuracy of the previous rave reviews

and they are pretty much spot on I give this 5 stars not for luxury but for providing an above average stay at a lower cost option for this tourist town Check in was a breeze with a text with room # and entry code along with instructions The room is a European style boutique room Decorated in grays, and retro modern furnishings, the small space used well The bed, pillows and linens are top notch The grounds are nicely kept with several sitting areas for lounging There is even a hot tub and beach towels are provided in each room The room was super clean on entry I would stay here again

This was our first visit and we were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and guests Patrick at the reception desk was helpful and professional Our King room was very clean, comfortable and modern

We normally don’t stay at Gay Resorts but after having vacationed in Douglas/Saugatuck for well over a decade we finally gave it a try and are glad we did Plenty of fun events and a nice pool and bars We gave them the highest compliment by extending our stay Well done Dunes!

We had a fantastic trip at the dunes The service was on point – and this is coming from a crew that has worked in service for a long time Housekeeping was friendly and attentive, bar service and staff were chipper and clean

Overall very impressed by management and all that work together to make this place run as smoothly as it does Huge thanks from hubby and I 🙂

I just wanted to say thanks to the Dunes for helping me once I arrived at the property and realized that I had booked the wrong kind of accommodations I was not going to be able to stay in the room that I had inadvertently booked (one of the ‘Dunes’ rooms with communal amenities), and on such short notice there was nothing else available for me, so I had to book a room at another hotel in town The staff was incredibly kind and understanding and refunded my previous payment

We will be back – with a correct booking The property is lovely – and looked like a lot of fun with a large pool, dance club and bar While it didn’t work out this time, we are looking forward to trying again
