Incredible hotel! From the moment you walk in, you can tell it’s a special place The ambiance is unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed at The artwork and photography throughout add such charm and celebrates the history and achievements of so many Stanford greats, providing a strong connection to the area

The restaurant and bar within the hotel (both indoors and outdoor) are spectacular! The entire staff are so friendly and make you feel like a part of their extended family from the moment you check-in I felt so welcome and taken care of our entire stay The hotel room was very spacious and I was blown away by the cleanliness! I highly recommend this hotel and will never stay anywhere else when I’m in the area!

I have been to this hotel’s bar area a few times and they have a good selection of drinks and small bites The backyard is very meticulously designedThis tome we stayed for a night and got a good deal since it was a last minute booking

And wow, the room was so beautiful The attention to details, all the nice finishes; amazing Bed was comfortableThe only issue was all the 4 pillows in our room were hugeBut overall highly recommended

As a Marriott Bonvoy member I enjoy exploring hotels in different locations I also really love the Autograph Collection hotels because they’re always modern in aesthetic and amenities What I love about this location is that it’s outside of the hustle and bustle but still very convenient to anything you could desire

The outdoor space is intimate but fulfilling- with a beautiful pool & poolside cabanas as well as a lawn with lawn games right next to their bar and restaurant area The rooms are quiet and modern I personally love the corner rooms and soaking tub You will definitely enjoy your time here

Horrible experience!! First the hotel is beautiful and the staff is nice However, after this everything falls apart We arrived just before 9pm

Was told the restaurant and bar is closed Then we asked if we could order room service and they said they don’t offer room service Then the next morning I couldn’t find the lotion in the bathroom I figured must have been a simple oversight, so i called down and they informed me they don’t offer any kind of lotion What? I have never been to a place that doesn’t offer lotion!! The blackout shades are designed poorly and don’t overlap so it’s bright in the morning Traffic is noisy But it is what it is I guess can’t do much there However, today we went down to grab a quick bite before our flight and the place was completely empty We asked to sit outside and they informed us they couldn’t accommodate because they were fully booked (please look at the photos I’m attaching, there wasn’t anyone seated!) paying $800 per night I would expect more The way this place is ran leaves much to be desired

I booked the largest room at Bloomington,Mn best western plus for granddaughter kindergarten graduation celebration and the AC didn’t workit was 83 degrees in the room and I had a newborn baby We had to prop the door open just to get air

I S/w front desk Was advised we could check out or take 50% discount but another guess was accommodated with executive suite poolside Guess my skin was too dark to get that accommodation I have been coming her every year for 12 years and have never experienced such treatment My kids love this hotel but you’ll never get another penny of my hard earned “Black “ dollars

Jill Whitaker

I would give a zero star to the best Western historical Inn, st augustine, fl If possible We booked 2 rooms 3 months in advance specifically requesting GROUND FLOOR and beside each other and were told that would not be a problem

We specifically chose this hotel because they had ground floor rooms (We also confirmed our reservation 3 days prior to our trip) Neither one of those requests were met and one of the rooms is literally in a hole next to the ice machine To say the least I am LIVID!! END STORY, Don’t expect to get what you reserve Terrible customer service

The only issue I experienced was with the EV Charger I witnessed a few people plugging in their Tesla and walking to work In the evening I saw someone watching a movie in their vehicle while it was charging Obviously they weren’t guests at the hotel I wish we got the opportunity to use the EV chargerUpdate: It seems like EV charging is a big issue at this location Most regular guests are aware of people swapping out their cars throughout the day to get a free charge This is really unfair to all the guests who wish to use this complimentary amenityThe hallways are really noisy We requested a high floor room to avoid all the noise We were very disappointed

Mitch Cullins

The hotel was great It’s well-appointed They have a sold menu, pool, TV options, etc

I had a small problem with my room (none of the internet-based TV services worked) Stuff happens/things break More than I am disappointed to not have streaming TV for a night, I am super-pleased with their efforts to make me happy Their engineer spent over an hour with tech support before determining a replacement device was needed Then later he found me in the hall, apologized and gave a great explanation – he put in a LOT of time for my one little problemIt turned out that first night the hotel was full, so they had no options But the next morning, as I walked to the car, the (Manager?) ran across the parking lot to tell me would have a new room ready and to meet him in the afternoon He didn’t have to do that Heck, he had me resigned to the “broken” room all week, and could have sold what was one of his few open rooms He didn’t He sprinted to take care of me and I appreciate itI am headed back to the area soon, and based on that experience, Aloft is where I will stay every time I can

Wang Yue

I stayed three nights in this hotel from 3/16 to 3/18 The hotel was completely cut off power on the last night, 3/18, starting at least 9pm I was back to hotel around 9pm and it was already power off

The hotel did nothing Obviously they don’t want to pay extra to call someone to solve the outage issue after-hour The electricity was not back on until next day morning around 9:30am And, apparently, they can avoid preparing breakfast because of thatThe most disappointed part was there was no explanation, no apologies and of course no refund at all Obviously, they don’t care about customer satisfaction or their service quality I’ve been traveling all over the country and this is definitely the WORST experience

They work hard to keep their place clean and presentable I loved the remodeled walk-in shower! The breakfast was tasty, hot and plentiful All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful

I booked for one night and ended up staying for four nights The room was very spacious It was better quality than other hotels that I have stayed at in this price range The location is convenient for Palo Alto, Stanford, Redwood City and other nearby areas I would stay here again

Andrew Avila

Staff is awesome, big shout out to the breakfast attendant- courteous and quick with the refills! The Front Desk person who checked us in was super helpful and attentive Requests, like extra coffee, was prompt! I mean hang up the phone it’s there prompt There’s a few things nearby- coffee, mini-mart, etc

not too far from the highway I had a King room with a couch, a powerful mini-fridge, and damn good AC Walls are a little thinHotel is not at fault for the following:Being on a major street, some times people rev their cars or race down the street not enough to complain about, but enough to notice when it happensThe hotel is on a social class border- sounds a little elitist, but essentially the neighborhood in one direction is well-off and wealthy, in the other direction it has businesses that are tailored to lower income and underprivileged peoples

Perfect place to rest for an evening It was clean and quiet A long soak in the tub and rest was what I needed

There is tea and coffee along with a microwave and refrigerator in the room I opted to eat leftovers in the morning There is a complimentary breakfast There is tea and coffee in the lobby In the morning you can hear people rolling suit cases out of the room but that’s not surprising given the setup of the room and air conditioning units It is conveniently located across from a Walgreen’s There is also a Tesla supercharger across the street

I had room 106 by the outside patio and I could hear everyone The AC in the room was loud too A good quality hotel have quiet rooms, this is not it

The hotel is well renovated but on a poor foundation (thin walls…) Felt overpricedMy bathroom was not like the picture tooOn a positive side, the staff was friendly and the outside patio was great

Ryan Spitzbart

The Nest is a modernized hotel that captures the idea of a luxury like hotel, but in a more casual manner I’ll go over my specific details with pros and consPros:-Outdoor fireplace amenities, making the stay more cozy and relaxing-Clean yet small workout room-55 Inch LG TV with Apple TV included-Sliding barn door, separating the bedroom and bathroom

-This is a big one; complementary parkingCons:-Location in Palo Alto is lackluster and may seem sketch to those unfamiliar with Palo Alto-No food cuisines to offer on site-No microwave or refrigerator, which I found rather odd-Thin walls so hopefully you don’t luck out with noisy neighbors during the nightOverall, I’d recommend if you can get a deal for this hotel by a third party, it’s worth giving the hotel a chance Paying regular price can be pricey, and nearby options could accommodate more for what your paying for May return in the future

Alex Sonne

This quality of construction is rarely seen outside of rural Thailand You can hear your alcoholic neighbor snoring If someone is walking anywhere in the hotel, you can hear or feel the steps

There’s no place to put your luggage except on the floor Really really low quality Pay interstate motel prices or find a different placeNice staff, convenient area

Great rooms, good breakfast, Terrible front desk reception Darnell made us wait for 30 minutes s to check in I had only two choices

Not check in and get charged, or wait for Marriott website to go back online We will never go back Instead of eating hot food that we got from takeout, I am waiting for front desk to print out forms which took him three times He has NO EMPATHY at all for our familyI get that we had an outdated form, but we only were given 2 options Cancel the reservation and pay full price or hang out in the lobby with the family in the car to get an updated form I did not have the option of paying full price for the room and staying there even though I would be charged full price but not be able to stay the night On the expired form there is a code that the hotel could have verified if they had any empathy, but as you can see from the owner’s response they still do not understand what was the issue

Bridgette Kendrick

So I want to start by saying I’m a Titanium Elite member and have stayed in countless Marriotts all over the country The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Belmont Redwood Shores was the absolute worst They claim to be “pet friendly” but that’s only towards dogs not cats

I called the Elite reservation line to book a 4 night stay, 1 night with points The hotel is “pet friendly” and I made sure to tell the representative that I had a cat Everything is booked and I prepaid for the nights stay After I got off the phone I called the hotel directly and spoke with someone (I believe her name was Julia) to make sure that I had a “pet friendly” room reserved for my cat, no problem Then I drive from Washington state to California I start checking in and for some reason they’re having problems with my reservation since one night is with points and the other three were prepaid Then they are getting ready to give me the pet form to fill out and I mention my cat They say we take dogs only! I tell them this has all be confirmed with the Marriott Elite reservation line and I had called the hotel myself They continue to say no cats, my cat is a 4lb Persian that has a lion haircut (mostly shaved) Then the manager Ben Lawson is called and he says “no cats in my hotel because they’re more allergenic then dogs” I have never heard of such a thing A pet friendly hotel is a pet friendly hotel You can bring cats on planes so I’m not sure what this was all about but I felt very discriminated against and it was embarrassing that I was being turned away I was so tired after my long drive and now I’m being forced to find a different hotel After staying in over a thousand nights in Marriott hotels the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Belmont Redwood Shores really disappointed

Nate Richardson

This hotel refuses to help in any way should circumstances out of your control put you in a position where you can no longer travel I came down with COVID the day I was supposed to travel The receptionist refused to allow me to alter my booking in any way

This was for required work travel and I just asked to shift the booking to a future date They offered no remedy and charged me full price I will never stay here ever, and I suggest those who read this review do the same

The manager is a very angry man who doesn’t respond well to simplequestions He seemed furious at checking because we used a hotelscom

The pillows were gross The room was dirty and noisy The manager was completely deranged I asked if it was possible to get different types of pillows and he got in my face about allergies etc I told him I understood and was simply inquiring if there were other pillows available He was yelling and frighteningly aggressive He followed us to the door yelling that we should find another place to stay We actually brought family with us to pack up fast and get out, he was so clearly unstable Needless to say, we found another place to stay,Update No surprise that they charged me for the entire stay What a nightmare this place is

We stayed at Hotel Lucent for one night on May 18, 2022 The bathroom door stopper had come off and the door fell onto my husband who was a Stanford Hospital patient (barn door type door) I jumped up and helped grab the door and immediately called the front desk

Also, the shampoo and other liquids in the “wall’ bottles did not work either The tile floor in bathroom was not cleaned (the closet had the same tile with white grout lines) but the grout lines in bathroom were black with dirt We paid $32322 for one night including tax Due to the door falling we should have been reimbursed by the hotel but we were not offered any kind of reimbursement except a verbal apology from the desk clerk (Their custodian stayed beyond his work hours to fix the door) We won’t stay there again as the hotel is “oversold” for what it is and the details and repairs and “attention to details” are missing We go to Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto but will find other accommodations

Robert Cvitkovic

As a European, this must have been one of the worst hotels I have been to The room had several problems There was a constant humming in the background; it smelled heavily like cleaner

The beds were short, and the bathroom was freezing as it had no heating All furniture is worn out Also, the breakfast has only cereals and some pastries, nothing fresh In the end, they also charged me insted of my company who made the reservation

SIX MONTHS I gave this hotel in advance to get it right I had booked a hotel for 2 guests, my treat to stay at this location for a concert at Shoreline While booking the hotel I asked what was needed so my guests would have zero costs accrued to them checking in or out

I was told to send back a form authorizing all charges as well as my ID and front and back of credit card to 1 Hold the room 2 Hold for incidentals 3 Charge the room upon check out Easy enough right? I guess not I checked in with this hotel THREE TIMES in order to ask if they needed anything else from me I kept being assured it was fine Well what would you know my guests were charged the $220 upon checkout which is double upsetting because they never should have been asked for a card in the first place How embarrassing when you are attempting to host a couple for a weekend out I am fuming mad, the hotel also looks great in the pictures and is barely hanging on to budget motel status in person I would give zero stars if I could

Sarah Yearian

The room was clean and beautiful The grounds are beautiful We had a king bed that was more of a queen

It is a Murphy bed The walls are extremely thin You can hear every noise upstairs and next-door Also if you’re on the first floor by the lobby you hear every one coming and going This is a solid place to stay if you are not a light sleeper Also their key maker wasn’t working so evey time we entered they had to open our door

Jason Matsumoto

It’s a decent little hotel, but the photos and marketing are a bit misleading, in my opinion It tries to sell itself as an upscale, boutique hotel with the website and photos showing the admittedly very nice grounds and common areas However, the actual rooms are not that nice, you can hear everything through the thin walls, and one of the 3 staff we interacted with wasn’t all that friendly (though the other two were extremely friendly and professional)

On the plus side, there’s a nice trail directly adjacent to the property, they have bikes that can be borrowed, and the prices are good We still checked out after the first night due to the noise

This is a newer hotel with modern design It’s located right next to a big shopping mall, many convenience stores, supermarket, restaurants The hotel is kid friendly and it has a long swimming pool if you want to do lap swim

That is a rare amenity Oh, it’s half outdoor with half shade but it is heated !! The staff is nice and very responsive to our request Room is clean with a great view of the mountain and a cute dog park

Katz

Wonderful experience staying here while house hunting after a cross country move Every person that I interacted with on staff was warm and kind They helped me with a number of unusual requests without hesitation and I felt very supported with the special needs of the stay

The food at the restaurant was super delicious and had something for everyone but featured really fresh ingredients and outstanding flavors Pro tip – request a room with a core of the dog park- delightful Highly recommend!

I really don’t ever leave reviews, but this hotel was fantastic It was very clean, the rooms had very nice views, and the surrounding area has a lot of food options The staff and management also went above and beyond to make my stay great

I was (to my bad fortune) working nights while on business travel, and was having a hard time sleeping during the day with the sound of footsteps above me Not their fault at all, people move around during the day, just my bad luck The front desk allowed me to move to a top floor room no problem and I slept like a baby I also found the HVAC units to be very quiet The staff was kind and the restaurant staff was so kind as well, as was the bartender There was a small mix up with one of my call in orders (no problem, humans make mistakes, and I called close to kitchen close time) The bartender was kind enough to give me a drink on the house, and my food was brought to my room I totally understand mistakes happen, so it wasn’t necessary, but it really shows how much the staff here cares about their guests If I’m out for work travel again I will certainly be staying here

Excited to stay Nobu Hotel in Palo AltoNice ambiance and unusual rest room with toto vide The lighting system was so modern

However, the service was not great Room cleaning had to be requested at 3 pm after though staff had come earlier but only refilled the mini barThe picture is Japanese Breakfast Bento which looks good and tastes good

We were excited to stay at Nobu as we understood, from their marketing, that it was exceptionally cool, exclusive, and boutique We looked on their site for a nice room and found that the Zen Suite (about $1,200) was available for the night we wanted to stay, which happened to be that same night When we landed we checked again to see if it was available and it was, but since we were only a few minutes away we decided to go right to the hotel and check in rather than reserving online

The two young gentlemen at the front desk (early twenties and very inexperienced, but doing their best) laughed when we asked about the suite and said they were all booked and that Expedia was likely having problems We said we saw it was available, not on Expedia, but on the Nobu Palo Alto site and we pulled it up in front of them Anyway, don’t trust their site for booking, you’d have to call to be certain before putting in your card info to make sure you aren’t booking a room that doesn’t exist inside the cancellation time Then it just got stupid they only had rooms with two queen beds (which by the way they are not queen beds – they are doubles which are really small) Since we were already there and tired we decided to take the two queen room Got to our room and a large panel fell off the wall when my wife opened the safe The paneling isn’t aligned and opening the safe cabinet door was enough to dislodged a 3 by 4 foot heavy panel from the wall which then fell on her We switched rooms The next room had a lovely thick black hair in the sink, maybe a dark sushi noodle, not sure It was end of day so we decided whatever we came up against we would stay The beds are not queen beds, but I mentioned that already Rooms are small TV is enormous and really great, but very limited channels but still – it’s a great TV Shower was ok but no hand held and they have a “Japanese” style wood floor in the shower which serves only an aesthetic purpose, and maybe to hide hair underneath, but damn it hurts the feet Bathroom is very tiny The toilet was unbelievably great and the showcase of the room, along with the TV The toilet is fully automated with remote control, heated seat, squirty things etc Basically you are renting a toilet and TV with some surrounding furniture No electrical outlets next to beds – just USB ports which is fine but not if you have new iPhone etc Carpets are stained, mostly because of the color selection we think which shows an archaeological history of prior guest shenanigans There is only one elevator which gets tedious The common areas of the hotel are sort of finished but not really There is an odd second floor patio that is 8 feet wide with some furniture facing a wall Nobody was out there There are surely other spots to stay that would be a better value and still very nice We couldn’t help but think Nobu is more of a marketing and food services company than a hotel company We give three stars which we think is fair for a three star hotel

The highest level of service ever received! The hotel is simple and refined The best concierge I have ever interacted with! From toiletries to arranging sightseeing/recommendations (everyone from valet) {so personable!}Excellent hotel for business and pleasure 5-star hotel without a stuffy Four Seasons/Ritz approach

Room service is top notch Front desk was super responsive when I needed more shampoo/conditioner/Nespresso podsWe stayed in a Ryokan room which I can not emphasize just how incredible and serene the room feels We were granted early checkin as soon as we landed from SFO at 11amI booked this not expecting much, but the small touches and personalized attention is what sets Nobu apart from anyone elseThe 82 inch tv is magical as is the heated toilet seat, you’re welcome!

This is a hidden gem! We booked from out of state and chose this hotel for the ratings and their professional attention to cleanliness The front desk staff was so helpful! My boyfriend had to take a college final for an online course and forgot some sheets and a calculator The front desk helped print what he needs from the business center and let him borrow a calculator for his exam! The room and bathroom were so cute! Only issue was the tv connection quality at night but it was better in the morning

The bed was AMAZING Everything so clean Hope we come to town again so we can stay here! Forgot the names of the front desk staff that helped us but we felt like this was a 5 star hotel with how kind and attentive the staff was!

I have stayed here a couple of times Both times the service has been great The location is easy to get to

First time the room was nice and comfortable This time was different Watch out if you get sent down to the first floor, outside set of rooms The corridor was pretty dark (kind of reminded me of horse stalls) and the room was an odd mix, mostly of unrennovated elements and a good bed and linens The wallpaper was dated and coming off the wall in pockets, areas looked worn, and old I usually don’t notice most of these kinds of details But it was just a little shabby and not what I expected for this hotel It was more like a lesser motel in appearance I got to the hotel around 9:30pm Maybe it was the last room available? Or I was a bad girl (not that I know of)? Or that I paid a discounted rate for travel? Or I hadn’t connected the visit to my rewards card? I don’t know what I did to get banished to the outside, slightly intimidating night time, corridor Being exhausted, I went to sleep and left quickly in the morning, despite planning to take two calls from the room in the morning

It’s dated yes but budget friendly There is parking and additional parking in the back There are rooms that are inside the and rooms that are partially outside but there is stone fencing that if you want to see your car in the parking lot you can do so

Staff is great and if you want high class hotel to match your buying power go for the Four seasons But if decide to stay at the Crowne Plaza with good people It’s near freeways which cradles between Los Altos, Palo Alto, Stanford, Menlo Park ,Mountain view very fun communities with fun things to do Just have an open mind and be adventurous lots of different restaurants and fruit stand down the street I stayed there and also rented the cabana on hot summer days we had a blast

When I walked into the room it smelled COMPLETELY like cleaning chemicals You would think this meant that the room was clean but it wasn’t The sheets weren’t clean, some pillows smelled like someone’s cologne, there was hair in the bathtub, and walls are thin

You can hear people walking up the stairs This is just a motel 6 dressed up I won’t be back !

We stayed here while receiving medical treatment at Stanford Hospital The owner and cleaning staff were very helpful and accommodating to our needs The rooms have been completely remodeled

Even though the hotel is right off a major road, the rooms are quiet at night and we didn’t hear any noise from neighboring rooms There is a lovely patio with outdoor furniture and water features where we spent a lot of time The landscaping is beautiful There are restaurants, Walgreen’s and shopping center within walking distance We enjoyed our stay and have already booked to return

This classic motel has been remodeled with all the modern-day amenities that one could ask for I booked the last room the afternoon of our stay for four nights and was first impressed by the reasonable pricing for the area Upon arrival the young man in the office was warm, caring, professional, and welcoming too

The room was tastefully decorated and immaculately clean You have all the convivences of a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and supplies including free snacks They also offer more free snacks in the office for the taking They even give you a razor and a toothbrush They have covered gazebo type outside seating surround by a beautiful garden and two soothing fountains What a wonderful place to unwind after a long day We were greeted by the owner who took the time to speak with us and even had a bottle of wine brought out for us Above and beyond does not begin to sing the praises of the experience we had during our stay It is home away from home without the hassles of everyday demands Stay here and you to will be glad you did
