Such a beautiful old-world hotel that is frozen in time Elegant and charming are the first words that came to mind when I walked into the beautiful lobby The room was recently renovated but still has much of the old hotel architecture such as a window in the bathroom

The staff are all very friendly and the bar is definitely a locals hangout that welcomes visitors with open arms Every single employee we encountered was courteous, friendly and accommodating Such a wonderful place to rest after a long flight The hotel is very convenient to Newark without the New York prices Highly recommend

My partner and I have stayed numerous times at Grand Summit We usually need to check in early, around (1/1:30 pm) for meetings, and check out very early (5 am) We never had to pay for an early check-in until the last time

The front desk attendants enlightened us that the new check-in fee of $50 is the result of the new management and cannot be waived Clearly, the new management is not making good business decisions as we will not be staying there again because of it In general, the hotel was ok- clean rooms, generic and tacky decor, and hit-or-miss staff We mostly stayed there because of its historic past and convenient location

$300/night (not even base prices, this is the rate I got through a third party) TO FIND MENS BOXERS IN THE DRESSER IN THE ROOM, a motel with full size beds, a/c that won’t go lower than cooling the room to 75° in April with the heat blasting in the hallways while it’s 71° outside, and a “deluxe continental breakfast” that resembles prison food Complete rip off, the fact that it looks interesting from the outside does not justify these prices

I can not say enough nice things about this location Clean, easy to get to, breakfast was tasty, bartender made a good drink They have a nice patio area, but know it doesn’t officially open until the bar opens

The front desk clerks were nice, the market was well stocked and if You need it, they have it If I’m in the area again, I would definitely stay there again

I believe this was the warmest welcome I have ever received when checking into a hotel Whether here in the states, abroad, or even at a luxury resort The difference is those hotels did not have Jermaine and Golda like the little Hilton Hotel on Route 22 West in Springfield

Jermaine is so warm, personable, friendly, and caring He made me feel like an honored guest in his home for the weekend Golda was very attentive, patient with requests, has a million-dollar smile and just displayed uncommon hospitality and guest service Her positive energy was contagious This hotel has a dynamic duo at the front desk Both represent the Hilton Brand Image and Core Values Thank You Jermaine and Golda!!! If I ever need hotel services in Union County area you both made Hilton Garden Inn of Springfield the obvious choice!Respectfully,Shane Barber

Very nice hotel Clean rooms Good breakfast

Just like so many other Hiltons they are getting cheaper, and cheaper As a diamond member I spend thousands and thousands with Hilton When I ask for a couple $025 bottles of water to go in the morning about half just give it to me Usually outside of town Inside cities where younger people work the counter, they say you have to pay their full price for it How stupid I will just go around the corner to a gas station or store if they are going to be that way

Sorry to say this hotel is declining in quality, though still preferred over other area hotels The rooms are nice and clean, but no longer well appointed and are run down No extra blanket, hotel menus are not in the rooms, room service is pleasant but you’ll eat with plastic utensils and food in aluminum containers

The breakfasts are great, buffet style, and will cost at least twenty dollars, but worth it Don’t look for a TV guide to channels, it’s not there In general, one expects better quality from a Hilton

Merde Mail

Average Lobby is lovely, restaurant is good Breakfast is a little pricey

Room was starting to show its age: poor caulking, carpet was dirty, and the shower faucet was dangerously close to falling offFront desk staff was mostly pleasant One female was rude and unpleasant Was purchasing snacks & drinks and she acted very inconvenienced by my presence, said very little, couldn’t even be bothered to tell me I was all set Left me standing there awkwardly until I finally had to ask, “Am I good to go?” I got a curt yes in replyParking spaces are very tight

Nicholas Lippa

The lobby and facilities were very pleasant and well kept but the rooms appeared to be severely lacking Furniture in our room was heavily blemished with gouges out of wood surfaces and hazed over windows from lack of exterior cleaning The vent in the bathroom appeared to have not been working for an extremely long time as the light fixtures in the bathroom showed signs of rust and pitting

All of this combined with what at this point felt like a somewhat outdated room for a premium price coupled with the lack of even a complimentary breakfast left a rather sour experience overall as it wasn’t necessarily bad but felt more akin to a run of the mill motel rather than a brand that is supposed to carry some type of prestige such as the Hilton

She handles things like a boss!! The lady in the morning when I was checking out understood the situation and let me have a little extra time to get my car all set up Overall the bed was comfortable and the TV had great channels Bathroom was awesome and the dispenser for the shampoo, conditioner and body wash was full and ready to use Not the mention a really nice design too

Sometimes it’s not how good a product or place is, but how well a company responds to problems I had a lot of issues with noise and lack of amenities while at this hotel, but after a few emails and me describing some specific issues, they refunded my money I’ve always loved Marriott so I’m happy to give them a 5 star review despite the issues

They still have some things to work out, but I’m hopeful that my feedback will help get those issues resolved I know they will One note: The highway is right there, so if you’re a light sleeper like me, get a room at the backside of the hotel, facing the junkyard, NOT the highway I know, not a great view, but I slept like a baby on that side Breakfast is as good as always, so if you need a clean place with convenient access to everything, a meal, and maybe a pool to swim in, the Fairfield delivers Thank you Fairfield managment and Marriott!

My wife and I set up a hotel block of rooms for our wedding at the Holiday Inn Clark on July 16, 2022 We worked with Lori, who went above and beyond to ensure all of our needs were met for all of our guests She was always available to take our calls when we wanted to change/ask questions

The check in process went extremely smooth and quick Cecilia the bartender of the hotel restaurant was absolutely fantastic for our hotel after party We even did a group breakfast buffet the next morning in a private room that was absolutely delicious! If you are looking to stay at a hotel in the Clark area we highly recommend this hotel!!!!

Paula Lancaster

The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful I wasn’t able to take advantage of the pool or exercise area but both looked goodThe breakfast was a typical continental breakfast, pre-prepared and warmed pancakes, eggs, sausage, and hash browns; apples, oranges, and yogurt

Apple juice in containers, coffee and hot water for tea – but this was provided at a cost of $15 (incl taxes) per person, which I find exorbitantIn the room there was not hot water at the sink, but the shower was warm The room was clean and comfortable The TV worked I read a review that indicated there were wood floors in the rooms, but mine was carpetedThe lock at the door was repaired from what looked like a forced entryI would stay again but I would not pay for that breakfast

Maxine Wilde

I’ve stayed in this hotel about twice year for at least a decade As always, the hotel is clean and fresh and the staff is polite and helpful In the past the service in the restaurant had been good, too

But not this time Included in my room rate was a hot, cooked-to-order breakfast in the restaurant, and I’ve always enjoyed a fresh cooked omelet seated comfortably at a table This time, on Sunday there was only the barely warm food on the buffet available: scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage only Not the best, but at least a meal eaten comfortably at a table But on Monday, although there was a buffet set up, I was not even allowed into the restaurant I was told I could take a pre-wrapped sandwich out of the hotel store back to my room Maybe to reheat in the microwave? Really? That’s not what I paid for And no decaf K-cups or creamers available in the room Had to go back down to the lobby to get them Disappointing

Stayed 7 nights bc I was having work done on house We extended stay so we had to switch rooms In each room, furniture was broken

No ironing boards in either room Shower still in 1 room was not very clean No extra roll of toilet tissue & no garbage pail in room Just essentials missingHowever, the people that did breakfast, did a terrific job Clean, well organized Plenty for all & it was crowded Staff very friendly & accommodatingRooms need to be maintained much, much better

Cori Frede

The room was a nice size with plenty of outlets (often a problem in hotels) but was really run down The carpet was stained and the walls were dirty The shower needs a good scrubbing and a shelf or two

When I went to grab something from the car, I smelled a burning smell on my walk back in and noticed smoke coming from the wood chips by the plants I told the front desk and she said it was probably smokers that didn’t dispose of a cigarette but she went immediately called for someone to go check In fact, the friendliness of the staff was the only real positive of my stay It was only one night so I didn’t complain but I doubt I’d stay at this location again It was not up to the Hampton Inn standardSide note: The noise from the highway was loud all night If you do stay here, maybe ask for a room on the other side of the building Not sure if it will help, but it can’t hurt

really quite nice and inexpensive Faced with paying about $250 for a night at the Hilton Garden Inn or $150 at the Turkey Inn, it was a great inexpensive alternative The person with whom I spoke a couple of times before I arrived was thoughtful and attentive and made the logistics work perfectly

A large comfortable room with old furniture was really welcoming This is a great find in the State I Hate (Spent my formative years in NJ and its certainly a good part of the reason I am malformed)

Katie A

Loved staying here! I called the owners last minute and they were so accommodating and got everything ready quickly I spent time talking to Bill upon arrival whose family owned the inn for generations and he is lovely! So much history! The room (room 9) was on the top floor and large, comfortable and such a great value Included coffee, a cooktop, microwave and fridge, a large seating area and work desk

The grounds are lovely and we’ll cared for, and it’s a quick 2-3 minute walk into the middle of town Definitely recommend and will be back

Kathleen Brennan

Super-cute inn only a few blocks from Springfield Avenue and the Summit Train Station Though there is free parking, it is also close to community parking lots My ensuite room was big, very clean, and came with thoughtful details like a bottle opener, champagne flutes, and even a flashlight

Check-in was finished even before I got there (I received my keys in a personalized envelope), and there is a complimentary coffee bar in the sunny front sitting room The only downside was that there wasn’t an elevator (that I saw), so anyone with mobility issues might have a more difficult time reaching the rooms on upper floors

The rooms were very clean, quiet and comfortable I had a room on the lower level facing the Garden State Parkway but thanks to the sound proof windows I could not hear the traffic The staff was great, especially Sebastian

The only downsides were that there is not a restaurant in the hotel, although they have a kiosk in the morning that sells coffee and light breakfast items However, there is an ACME within walking distance and tons of great restaurants just minutes away Try the Galloping Hill Inn in Union for an excellent hot dog! My only other downside was that they only clean the rooms and make the beds if you give them 24 hour notice that you would like your room cleaned

Shepherd’s Crook

Thank you for honoring my request for late check-in My first room assignment was cancelled due to heavy smoke odor in hallway Front desk clerk made every attempt to accommodate

Thank you The fabric covered headboard in the second room assignment was mysteriously stained Please replace the mysteriously stained headboards It could cause the imagination to run wild Also, the top bed sheet reeked of fragrance very odd Since I’m highly sensitive to fragrances, this experience resulted in restless sleep and a severe migraine Due to my exhaustion level both at check-in and checkout, I had nothing else to spend Overall my quality of stay was voided mainly due to the fragrance issue Although a bit cramped, it wasn’t a huge issue for me Thank you Kenilworth Inn

charles eberhart

Stayed one night before flying out of Newark Airport, using the fly and 7 day park package Very friendly staff at both check in and check out The room was not fancy, but relatively large and quite clean

Lots of parking on site, and the staff were efficient in ordering a complimentary Lyft to the airport (instead of a shuttle, as the driver was off shift) The coffee maker in the room was broken, but even that was a fairly positive experience as they had maintenance there within a few minutes to swap it out!

Let me start off by saying I am a fan at staying at this embassy suites location because almost always I am greeted by welcoming faces all around, but Friday was very differentAfter a long day I wanted to grab a meal at the restaurant in the hotel, the server Danny was extremely helpful with the menu, and overall was great as she tackled table after table I did notice the chef was very rude to her and another gentleman

While I was eating I heard some things fall, and seen the person in the kitchen throwing pans It was a concerning sight because the energy from her was felt throughout the entire restaurantOverall I love the embassy suites, and I do enjoy the service but this was one of the first days I did not finish my meal It was very undercooked, and too greasy for my liking I’m hoping for some improvements moving forward because usually the restaurant is one of the best parts of staying at this hotelI do give credit to the server that was working, she is one reason I am still willing to give this hotel/restaurant one more chance

Hugh W

The staff at this location is super nice, friendly, helpful and professional The overall perception of the employees, everyone works as a team making this Hotel the place to stay The lobby is very spacious, the complimentary breakfast is on point, the rooms are a decent size for a family of five and lots of outdoor parking spaces

I recommend and definitely will stay here again

My stay here was absolutely excellent, Vic at the front desk checked me in swiftly and informed me about all the hotel had to offer with a smile Room was both spacious, welcoming and cleaned to high standard Overall very happy with the staff, room, and over all experience

85/10 would absolutely stay here over any hotel in the area come next trip Will not find better bang for buck… Buffalo Wild Wings less than 5 minutes away with great deals for dinner!

Rachel J

I do like this hotel and location, however the state of the bathroom was disturbing this trip as far as no cleaning in the weekend, the raggedy shower curtain and dead bugs inside the light in the shower The personnel are always great, and no reflection on them I think overall the hotel needs to make an investment to do better with the things so mention that would matter to most people

Kitchenette was great, but no roll of paper towel (which I thought every hotel provides-like the 1 extra roll of toilet tissue) It’s the little things that they can fix and make me give them a 5…easily

Tony Yang

The hotel manager and another staff member were very rude to us, accused us of stealing water from the gym, and even prohibited us from taking anymore of it as they were did not order enough to meet the demands of their guests Besides that, the rooms were fine and the breakfast was nice There were signs saying that pets were allowed, but only on the first floor

We discovered that this was not the case because we saw pets coming to other floors as well and staying there This would be bad for anyone with pet allergies

Incredible experience and a lovely hotel This place is run with unmatched qualityAfter a very rough night of missing a flight and arriving at the hotel at 3 am, the Tryp staff went out of their way to make sure I was accommodated

Both the hotel manager and restaurant manager were incredibly kind, charismatic, and embodied the definition of hospitality Tasty food, comfortable, classyI haven’t experienced such wonderful service like this in years But if you are staying in Newark, you must stay here It is worth it

There’s a free shuttle to the Newark Pennsylvania station and the airport, which was super convenient However, the staff lied to us? They said it leaves every hour on the hour but it’s actually by request We planned our schedule around the hour and then when we came down to get on it wasn’t there and we had to request and wait like 15 minutes

Requesting is more convenient overall, but like why wouldn’t they just tell us that? Parking was $20 per day, not great but fair for the areaThe room was nicely decorated, clean, the bed was comfortable, and water pressure was ok There’s a restaurant in the hotel that we didn’t try but it looked good! Employees were a bit rude but whatever, we liked it overall anyway

As a Hilton fan, we are a bit disappointed The check in was very smooth, staff was very friendly and helpful Room was very comfortable, great view, but be awarded pictures can be misleading

outdoor pool is not as fancy and big as we expected, a lot of people using it daily( at least when we were there), patio is part of the restaurant for outdoor dinning, cant just go in there and enjoy the seating parking is not free, will cost you 18 dollar per night no microwave at all in the room or lobby Breakfast was not impressive Staff were nice, but really short staffed do your calculation before booking

Samantha help us book our wedding block rooms and sent up complementary champagne with my wife’s name on the label, as well as chocolate covered strawberries She was so great to work with and the hotel couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful They even helped us when her ride to the wedding didn’t show up and she was dressed in her wedding dress waiting to go to the ceremony

The hotel stepped up with their Hilton Honors Cadillac and got her there in time for the ceremony Thank you for making our stay so special and memorable

Ok this hotel is very very nice in regards to the rooms Recently renovated however they charge 18$ a night for parking AND make sure you double check the bill! They might double charge you If you’re Hilton honors the 15$ meal credit is essentially worthless for breakfast

Coffee is 7$ and They charge 20$ on average for their meals which are merger at best! I would skip this Hilton location and go to their Home 2 down the road with free99 breakfast AND free parking

Breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary for a hotel, it was good Rooms look like they’re kept up with and they actually care about cleaning and maintaining them What made my stay over the top great was the lady that works the desk at night (didn’t get her name unfortunately)

She was super helpful and patient through the whole check-in and happily helped me with my 2-3 requests that I had throughout the stay Recommend this spot if you’re staying in the area

be aware that the rooms in this hotel do not have any kind of ventilation air in the room is stale and stuffy windows can’t be opened at all, there is no such option, by design, they are just air tight

imagine how it feels when you experience lack of fresh air and oxygen, increased co2 and decide if you’d like to book here i wish i knew this upfront and not chose this hotel ever

I’m not usually one to leave a bad review, but this place 0 stars I don’t know if it’s because we booked through a third party, but our room was filthy

It’s like they just came and made the beds and that was it… with comforters that had huge rips in them The floors and carpets had crumbs The bathroom floor had dirt and hair balls behind the door Oh and the microwave had dried up crusted food all in it It also reeked of cigarette smoke Thankfully we were only there two nights

The room was a good size, but the carpet was extremely dirty and sticky They say they steam clean all rooms which have had dogs, can’t possibly believe that’s true The halls and rooms are filled with a foul smell, mildew foul odor

Getting fresh towels, linen, even soap-one has to fill out a form at the front desk, CRAZY! Just to have your room clean one must give a 24 hour notice, and if the front desk forgets to schedule it in their log book, they contradict the customer, saying since it’s not scheduled, no cleaning can be be done until the following day I tried rectifying this by scheduling in advance, cleaning service everyday, I was shocked to be told by the front desk, I wasn’t allowed to schedule my room clean everyday! Don’t bother to ask for cleaning service during the weekends, apparently there isn’t any This Hilton, needs new management, new paint, new room furniture and new carpets The breakfast area is okay, but the floors are extremely sticky And no it’s not just during breakfast time, I walked over around 3 pm for a cup of coffee and everyday the the floor was sticky Bring a pair of sandals, don’t let your babies walk barefoot, the carpets are super super smelly and extremely unhygienic I would say the hotel does have comfortable beds and ONE lady, at the front desk, seems to be the only one who knows how to be professional and tries hard to help guests Other than that, the hotel should not be classified as part of the “Hilton” brand

Hotel was in a perfect location especially for my planned attractions There was an odor outside of the hotel that was sickening but inside was pleasant with a great smell Each floor has selected days that rooms are serviced

Washcloths and towels are not provided daily unless a request is made by noon each day, which is an inconvenience Hotel did run out of towels and washcloths which was also an inconvenience especially to paying guest

Received phone call from hotel while driving to get there Was told the accessible room I reserved was not available No explanation why

Was given room with 2 dbl beds instead of king size and no walk-in shower Wife has had both knees replaced and has trouble getting into tub even with grab bars Breakfast was so-so, eggs with peppers (don’t like peppers) No fresh cut fruit the 2nd day No waffle maker One elevator out of order leaving only one elevator for entire building (3 floors) Only 2 staircases for building AC worked very well
