I am writing this review before actually completing my full stay at this hotel But I must say Nayomi the front desk manager is probably one of the managers in the industry It’s not about an upgraded room or giving me something unexpected, but just about the speed of service fast check-in is done, the room is neat and clean (brand new hotel), ac service was slow so the room changed within a minute of making a room call to her

Being the only one behind the desk and yet she showed no complaints or did not slow down at all that’s what I thought was fantastic The room was a brand new, family-friendly hotel A great option from sequoia national park

Phil

We stayed here for 3 night’s while waiting to go to sequoia national park The rooms are newly renovated, modern and very clean! Great location and super fair price Service was excellent and staff was extremely welcoming and friendly

Yes there is a 100$ security deposit on (HOLD) wich got released the minute we checked out We’ll be staying there again for our next trip into the park

Felisha Lyons

I guess the outside pool is closed because it doesn’t look clean But the room is really clean and comfortable it only has a mini fridge and microwave

And you’re only able to stay 30 days at a time but it’s a good hotel surrounding all the stores so you don’t need to be looking or going really far Only thing I don’t like is the TV is small but it’s on wall and it’s flat screen

Allowed check in to a room without plumbing in sink draining properly They attempted to repair without success and no plumber on staff Assured us a plumber would be called the next day to repair

We remained out of room all the next day without repairs completed Managements response was to return points and enough to compensate for our inconvenience which fell short of expectations I wouldn’t trust any promises from management If anyone attends to stay here, you should perform pre inspection of room for working condition and cleanliness prior to accepting There are problems here that you should be aware of before stay Choose this hotel as last resort I am a long time Hilton honor member and I will not return They do not value their customer business If you have a positive stay feel lucky Their happy with getting by We were not lucky They will meet minimum standards to stay in business and take your money

Deepthi

We booked 2 rooms, each room had 2 queen beds The rooms were neat and clean Each room had a fridge and microwave and coffee maker

The breakfast is included in the reservation – had good options like breads, bagel, cereal, coffee, scrambled eggs, waffles, Muffins, fruits We liked the stay at Hampton This is located in the center of the city, near restaurants, shopping and other facilities Easy booking, check-in and check-out process Had enough parking spots

Garrick Taylor

Rooms are pretty dated Thermostat on air unit in room didn’t seem to work and unit had to be turned on manually Threshold to bathroom is loose and not properly attached

Lid on toilet doesn’t fit correctly Door to halfway squeaks really loudly, etc etc They closed breakfast early and we didn’t get to eat Staff person that checked is in was friendly Staff the next morning was not Overall not what I expect after staying hundreds of nights at Hampton Inns

I am a fan of Best Westerns now I have stayed in many motel and hotel rooms out here in the mainland and I am a fan of this hotel chain The rooms were neat and clean with updated amenities

The beds were so comfortable and each bed had 4 thick pillows each(this is exemplary) The free amenities were also of high quality and the towels were comfortable and fluffy The free breakfast was delicious and the variety was nice They had waffles, sausage, eggs, cereals, muffins, and various beverages All-in-all, it was a pleasant stay away from home

Lauren Rowe

Clean, inexpensive and quality is what you get if you stay here We used this lovely hotel as a home base to tour The Sequoia National Park and King’s Canyon The entire site was very clean and well kept

Our stay included a cute small breakfast, with make your own waffles The breakfast was one of the best contententals we’ve had along our travels over the years This hotel is the BEST in the West and a must stay!

Note: This is an old review from 2019 Some information may be outdatedStayed Here from June 10, 2019 to June 12, 2019

This Hotel is located in a tiny town, and I expected this hotel to be like a motel like one-star But, surprise! It was actually a great experience the man at the front desk was extremely nice and the lobby had a great smell I will never forget about Then we went into our room We were in Room 108 and they served us some chips in the room overall, the Best Service I ever had from a hotel The Room was large, everything was clean, and I heard the room was recently refurbished Again, Great Service! The only flaw about the room was the Internet But, we aren’t in a big city The temperature outside was blazing hot, but it was just California Then, the Breakfast was Great! Fresh Local Pastries Then, this hotel was located very close to Sequoia National Park Stayed there for another night, then we left for our final hotel of the vacation near LAX I loved the service of this hotel, and I wish that I would stay here again I would give this 10 Stars if possible

Staff was very nice, and the breakfast was good However, the walls in this building are very thin Our neighbors next door had guests over with their TV and music cranked up well past midnight

Calling the front desk did not fix the issue, (although the ear plugs they gave me helped) and they were not able to move us to a different room Won’t be back as I had terrible sleep here

Kim Jostad

Front desk was great but the cleanliness of this hotel was awful The room felt so dirty The couch had stains on it

I requested a flat sheet which I placed over the couch before we would sit on itI was excited because we had laminate flooring in our room and thought that would be easy to clean Often carpets seem gross The floors were horrible They looked so dirty You can see spots all over that needed to be wiped up I took a disinfectant wipe and rubbed on the laminate floor and the wipe was blackI did this in a couple different places in the room and anytime I wipe the floor it was black there was dust on the furniture The microwave had dry food in it There were crumbs and hair in the corners in the bathroom and against the wall in the room I would never stay there againI took several photos and if there was a place to post on here I would post them

Robert Hunter

Not a bad hotel but not great either It does have a good location to the highway and many fast food eateries They are older looking rooms, even with fresh paint they still had mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and drywall looked like it was getting ready to come off

We had a dog with us so you only get a bottom floor room The neighboring rooms were very loud Seems like no insulation in the joining walls The people above us sounded like a herd of animals Talked to the employees and said they could move us until I reminded them we had a dog Then they said sorry, can’t move youThe breakfast is ok Nothing great but did fill your belly to start the day I probably would not stay there again

I checked in the room was 85 degrees, I tried to reduce the heat in the room and the thermostat wouldn’t work I went down to the desk and let the young man know and all he said was he would inform maintenance Only 1 window would open, not much

The coolest the room ever gotcwas 77 In the morning I expressed the same issue with the morning staff and I receive the same response from them I wasn’t offered a different room from night staff nor a discounted cost from the morning staff Miserable for sure And the day was 92 So no relief

Alisa S.

The hotel itself is fine It’s right in downtown area Super close to everything you can do here

Staff were friendly Rooms are nothing out of ordinary Yes, it’s bit outdated, bit of worn out You can definitely see its history But the price is also the cheapest nearby The gate going into the park space is broken Us and our friends and other people we ran into all had problems using our keycards to go in On the other side of the garage, there’s an exit doesn’t require anything to go in and out So the keycard gate doesn’t really make any security sense To our surprise, there’s free breakfast All your normal complimentary breakfast stuff, coffee, milk, cereal, make your own waffles, oatmeal, bacon, eggs, biscuits, some bakery stuff, yogurt The staff working at the breakfast room is very compassionate and attentive

Robin Clayton

I stayed at the Comfort Inn and suites for my Son’s Graduation The room was very comfortable Lots of good pillows !!The little living area was perfect for his *Pre Grad Celebration *

{ a big plus when a little privacy from sleeping area is needed} The Breakfast buffet was terrific !! Hot Cheese omettes, lots of bacon, fresh WAFFEL * maker !! The Lady in charge of the breakfast needs honorable mention !! Also the desk Staff and Gen Manager were very accommodating to some special needs that I had This was a BIG asset to our stay !! I AM SO GLAD that I chose This hotel and will do so again ! when I return

Very clean hotel, the rooms are nice as they have been remodeled in the recent years The room did take a while to cool down, however it was very hot on the day I was thereI ate in their great room (their restaurant) for dinner and breakfast the following morning

Honestly the food was mediocre both times, but both servers acted as if I were inconveniencing them

John Tyler

Was just ok Electrical outlet in bathroom didn’t work Shower dripping a lot no matter how tight I try to stop it

$18 breakfast, no signs up saying thatyou just get a check They took $500 from a friend for security without telling him they were going to do it Said 2-3 days before it gets back in account5 days later still not back Won’t be back

Right when I walked in the office I was greeted by the wonderful miss Star Star was able to help me get the room I wanted and gave me the option of having a room downstairs or upstairs This is the only motel 6and I’ve never been to that showed me lots of love

The whole staff here are amazing and they make you feel right at home I will definitely come back again

So I pull up to the lobby next to this person smoking outside their car Not in a rush i let them talk to reception first The smoker proceeds in losing their cool on the front desk receptionist something about “I haven’t smoked in years” so how could the room smell like smoke? Long story short front desk girl handled it amazingly and was beyond lenient with the smoker

Weekend nights girl is a bombshell

Jorge Mora

I was helped by a wonderful and amazing Girl name Veronica She was very helpful and informative I had just came from a 5 hour long drive check-in wasn’t until 3pm but she made it happen I was checked in right away so I was able to rest right away and didn’t have to wait an hour to check-in

Definitely will be coming back FYI room was clean and smelled good

The property seems to be well managed, and staff were kind Beds and towels were clean, which is the most important thing in my opinion Downside is that the hotel is quite old, and it kinda smells old in the room

AC looks very old and smells when turned on It should be upgraded for better cusomer experience There is a highway right next to the hotel, so if you are sensitive to noise, maybe you want to find another hotel

nubuckshu

When you have a disability it’s not like you can book any room at any hotel We picked Fairfield because our stays have always been excellent, except for this one trip to Tulare, CA We drove a five hour trip only to find out that the accessible room we booked and requested in advance was not available, but they have an accessible room with a tub

It’s a bit different transferring to a tub with a bench from a roll in shower to a bench when you’re on a wheelchair and cannot walk The front desk staff told us there would be a price difference if we were to get a double queen with a roll in shower If the person I spoke to a few days prior had mentioned this to me that there won’t be any available room that fits our needs, I would happily cancel and find a place elsewhere and not get asked if I want to accept the room they booked for us What do they expect us to do after driving several hours? Find another hotel last minute? Other hotels in the past has always managed to work around this issue, why couldn’t this one work it out?

I stay in a lot of hotels throughout the year and this one has to be the best! Sure it’s new and the amenities are nice but what separates it from all of the others are the people Hands down the nicest hotel experience I’ve ever seen Jessica went above and beyond to ensure my early check in was accommodated as well as recommendations for lunch

She was kind, courteous and super nice! The next morning my wife and I were greeted by a huge smile at breakfast Her name was Gigi and she was so friendly! She provided us with a great start to a great day When we arrived back at the hotel after 9pm we were greeted by a very friendly and professional gentleman named Luis He helped me with an issue all while smiling assuredly I came in contact with several other members of the hotel staff and had the same experience Do yourself a favor and stay at this hotel My overall experience was excellent!IHG corporate should try and replicate this group throughout the hotel franchise

Fantastic one night stay Minor problem with my first room and they moved me promptly to another room Hotel and room was immaculately clean

Nice outdoor heated pool and hot tub My friend had the free breakfast and was shocked and amazed He said it was one of the best hotel breakfasts he’s hadRoom was very comfortable Air conditioning was not noisy Windows soundproof Loud group of people partying in the parking lot, heard absolutely nothing inside the roomExcellent government rate Very convenient to Sequoia national park

We are in the middle of a 3-night stay It is a relatively new property and breakfast is goodHowever we continue come across some issues

On Thursday night we were given assigned a room that has snell of dirty duster After calling the front desk to change a room, after an hour, (understood she is busy) we were given a double queen room instead of a king room that we used to bookWe were told that Conditioner / Body wash would be refilled on Friday But it did not get refilled until we were back on Friday evening and ask to changeIt’s good to see the room service during the stay and everything was put in order, but the bed was not cleaned up as we found hair on the bedHope our last night of the stay will have better experience

Staff was very friendly Price was good for one night stay Staff Help with checking in little early since we had a baby with us and it was very hot outside

Room was very clean and bed and pillows were comfy Walls are thin but didn’t seem to bother us Breakfast was good Room was good size Definitely will stay here again if we are around this area You can tell it’s an older hotel but has everything we needed no complains ☺️

Andrew Overmyer

This hotel was not worth $165 for one nightAnd it sucks to give such a bad rating, cause the employees were so friendly and professional The experience of actually sleeping there was just bad

Let me start with the pros: Courteous staff, amenities in working order, air conditioning was on point, and the place was very clean – both hotel lobby and room The fridge and microwave worked as expectedBut to start, two of the wall outlets had no power So Can’t really applaud a fish who didn’t even swim correctly, as pretty much all of the above are bare minimum expectations of a hotelMy biggest issues -The single queen room is TINY Two adults and two dogs were very uncomfortable in what was basically Harry Potter’s closet but with a few extra feet of space and it’s own bathroomThe sheets felt starched?? They were so rough it was difficult to justify sleeping in them The pillows had, at most, two feathers and I had to bundle up a blanket for extra support Just an absolutely lackluster presentation from the La Quinta brand I travel frequently with dogs and they are my go-to hotel chain, so I know what to expect from their hotels and this location did not fit the billBut, again I can’t stress this enough, kudos to the staff for being super awesome Just wish their management would fix the basics and give them a better environment to work in

Ron L

Upon entering the lobby, there was an interesting odor The staff was nice and helpful The hallway where our room was didn’t seem clean and there were discoloring stains on the carpet, possibly bleach

The room was clean and bed confortable Shower instructions were away from eye level and weren’t well seen The breakfast was setup up on counters in the corner, so access for more than one person was difficult They could move people along faster if food trays were placed further away from each other where there was plenty of space The orange juice was good The waffles were ok for me and uncooked for my daughter (2 different makers, use the one on the right) The eggs seemed artificial with a steamy, moist outside and dry, bubbly core inside when scooped on the plate They tasted horrible I may have been generous on the stars

This is a 2 star hotel I gave it a 3 because the staff was so courteous No laundry facilities, no gym, and the pool was not working

Other than that, the room was clean, the one tiny bar of soap was adequate (no shampoo) and plenty of toilet paper So about what you’d get at the local Motel-6 for a Marriott price tagWould I stay here again Probably not

Nice enough but $12 to park is kind of outrageous Especially considering we arrived around 10pm and left by 8am There also wasn’t even a spot available for us to park

Multiple people parked over the lines but apparently they do not have anyone paying attention to that Luckily after doing a lap someone left and we were able to squeeze our truck into a very tiny parking spot

Clearly profit taking going on by ownership The clerk even commented on this when checking in In my dozens of Fairfield stays I’ve NEVER been charged for parking – Except here – When I questioned it I was told: “When new ownership took over we started charging for parking” More profit taking: Shower door had been broken and removed, the brackets and hardware were still there, replace with a curtain The hardware holding up the rod, actually had hose clamps used to make it work at both ends The sitting chair was removed and never replaced Reading lamp and side table still there, but no chair I actually used Marriott points and have requested they be deposited back in my account

Good stuff: fun bar/lounge, lots of parking, seems secure, quiet Bed super comfyNot so great: water never became hot, AC never really was cold, so a fan ran the entire time, missing complimentary items in our room, no complimentary breakfast, but there is a Cafe downstairsTrue bummer: a $100

Pending credit charge when checking in, due to the management company Was told could take up 5-20 days till removedNot everyone can afford to have that $$ hanging over their heads for that long

I would like to report that I am completely dissatisfied with my stay at Hampton Inn Visalia on 06 – 07 July 2022 and with the Hilton Guest Assistance I do not recommend booking your stay at Hampton Inn Visalia and if I can rate my stay – I would give it a minus five starts The hotel charged me twice

I booked my stay with the points, but at check out they charged my credit card for 200 something dollars for the stay It has been more than two weeks now that I’ve been constantly following up with the hotel manager and with Hilton Guest Assistance The resolution I offered was easy – to either re-deposit the points back to my HH account or return the money back to my credit card that was charged at check-out As of 22 July 2022 – no points or money was returned I had to call my bank and dispute the chargeHilton Guest Assistance Team was absolutely un-helpful Every time someone new was replying to my requests At some pint I had an impression I was speaking to a robot On 16 July 2022 they replied they redeposited 3930 points to my account for my stay (I am sorry, but I paid 45 000 points for that stay); I continued following up; eventually today, on 22 July 2022 they replied that my reservation was booked for one adult with points, but the hotel charged me for the second guest in my room (my husband, who travels with me all the time) Seriously? Is this your explanation? Since when does Hilton charge the customers not per room but per guest? They do not keep the original email chain and a different person from Hilton Guest Assistance replies to your emails They do always thank me for being a Diamond Member though Well, I am about to re-consider as it seems the hotel chain, they way they treat their guests suffered the consequences of pandemic, I am about to switch to Marriott Bonvoy and stick to their hotels for all my future travels
